Top notch service!

Tammy and Mark Ingram Atelier helped me find my dream wedding dress! I went to four salons and Mark Ingram had the best service and inventory. Tammy was professional, knowledgeable and so much fun to work with. She has great vibes and made the dress shopping process painless and fun! The Atelier has a great inventory of beautiful dresses at a range of prices. They offer top notch service from the shopping day to alterations and delivery of the dress. Tammy also introduced me to the most beautiful veil that really elevated the whole look! The veil became my inspiration for my entire wedding design haha. She nailed it. I received so many compliments! Could not have been happier! Thank you, Tammy and Mark Ingram Atelier!

Mindy is the best!

Cannot recommend Mark Ingram Atelier enough! Mindy was my incredible bridal stylist, and I will sing her praises forever! MIA was the first stop on my wedding dress search, and I was so nervous. Mindy was an incredible listener, and I swear that she figured out what I wanted before I even knew! I ended up canceling the appointments I had at other bridal salons and bought my dress that day. Mindy remained communicative throughout the entire process, and she is truly one of the kindest people I have ever met! She is a joy to work with. I actually ended up accompanying a dear friend to her bridal appointment at MIA, and we requested to work with Mindy again. She once again went above and beyond and made my friend feel so special!

The seamstress that the team recommends, Alzira Hermes, is also wonderful! She was meticulous and fun to work with. She really knows her stuff, and I knew my dress was in the safest of hands.

I feel so lucky that the MIA Team has been there to answer any questions I’ve had along the way, even post wedding! They have already sent over their referral for dress cleaning and preservation.

When I found my dress, the team was still in their former location. The new location is absolutely stunning, and I am so glad they have been able to expand to a bigger space.

Wedding Dress Designer of My Dreams!!!

I am honored to have collaborated with the exceptionally talented Mark Ingram to create my custom one-of-a-kind dream wedding dress. From the moment I began my wedding dress journey, I knew I wanted a one-of-a-kind gown that would reflect both my personality and the essence of our special day. From the moment I stepped into Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier and met the man himself who radiates the most warm, caring and lovely demeanor, I knew he was the creative genius I had been searching for and the only one who would be able to translate my wedding dress dreams into reality.

The initial consultation with Mark was a revelation. His genuine interest in my unique vision, style, and preferences (which sometimes weren’t always tradition) made me feel like my wedding gown was not just another project but a piece of art he was determined to craft. He listened intently to my ideas, offered insightful suggestions, and sketched designs that truly captured my heart.

Throughout the design process, Mark and his amazing team demonstrated their unwavering dedication to perfection. The attention to detail was astounding, and every fitting session felt like a fun party. He expertly combined luxurious fabrics, intricate lacework, and delicate beadwork to create a masterpiece that was perfectly mine. The result was a dress that not only fit flawlessly but also truly reflected my unique style and wedding vision, and if that wasn’t already enough Mark surprised me with the most beautiful custom mantilla veil as a wedding gift!

The store itself is a true bridal paradise. The boutique exudes an air of sophistication and charm that mirrors the designer's aesthetic. The welcoming ambiance and impeccable décor set the stage for the most delightful and memorable experience.

Debbie and the entire staff share Mark's passion for perfection and client satisfaction. They were not only accommodating but also genuinely excited about my dress journey. Every visit felt like I was visiting friends who were as invested in my happiness as I was!

On my wedding day, as I walked down the aisle in my one of a kind custom Mark Ingram creation, I felt like the most beautiful version of myself. The compliments from family and friends were endless, a true testament to the designer's extraordinary talent.

In conclusion, my experience with Mark and his Atelier was nothing short of enchanting. He not only crafted a dress that exceeded my wildest dreams but also made the entire journey a cherished memory. Perfection: the people and the dress

I loved my experience at Mark Ingram and found the perfect dress! I wish I could wear it every day because I love it so much! My stylist was extremely patient and helped me try on all of the styles that I was interested in until I found the one. I even worked with their seamstress to make the dress fit perfectly! The seamstress reconstructed a lot of the dress as I was in between sizes and I am so grateful for her work. Overall my experience with Mark Ingram was fantastic due to the helpful and talented people and the awesome selection of dresses

The most beautiful gowns

I absolutely fell in love with my dress and didn’t want to take it off. The lace was gorgeous, the Italian alterations experience was flawless and the dress fit me and my style perfectly. Tammy, Mark, and the whole Mark Ingram team were amazing!

Mark Ingram Atelier was one of the first stores I shopped in while looking for a wedding gown, and it really set the tone for what a gown shopping experience should be. I was paired with Tammy, whose energy is infectious. She immediately understood my style and what would best flatter my body, and pretty much every single gown I tried on could've worked. We couldn't believe how great the selection was! Even Mark himself came in and introduced himself and was lovely to us. I didn't feel comfortable buying a dress on my first day shopping, but as I visited a few other stores, my shopping experience was just not even close to comparable to my one at Mark Ingram. I returned for a second time during an Adam Zohar trunk show and Tammy encouraged me to try a gown I was unsure about on the hanger. But once I tried it on, we knew it was my dress! Mark and the entire staff made me feel so confident and beautiful-- Mark even called the designer in Israel to show him!! I felt so special. When my mom, sister, and I all started crying, Tammy began to cry too! This just shows how invested she is in her clients. When it came time for my fittings, Debra was unbelievable. She was extremely helpful when showing my sister how to bustle the dress. I just had my wedding on Saturday and got so many compliments about how unique the gown was. Mark has fantastic taste, the collection he curates is really outstanding, and he often discovers new talents. If you are looking for a wonderful shopping experience, helpful, kind, and honest consultants, and a selection of gowns that are truly special and different, then Mark Ingram Atelier is the place for you!

I worked with Ayana at Mark Ingram and I was SO thrilled with her level of service and taste. I came to my first appointment with just one other guest, and some images of dresses from designers I knew they had in store. She pulled six right away and we fell in love with dress three. It couldn't have been an easier process. All of my fit appointments were confirmed via email a few days before, and I emailed with Ayana a few times intermittently as well. Everything worked out perfectly, and I LOVED my dress.

I got my Mira Zwillinger from here and worked with Marah. I loved that the salon is relatively small and intimate. I imagine walking into a one of the big stores with racks and racks of dresses would be a different experience, but that certainly was not the case here. First of all, Mark Ingram is the only place in the city where you can get a dress by some of the designers they carry (i.e. inbal dror, mira zwillinger <-- both gorgeous and worth going for alone). Everyone that works there is extremely knowledgeable. They also make sure that you are paired with the same consultant every time you visit. Marah was incredible. She made me feel so comfortable, was extremely patient, and helped me think through my options without making me feel pressured. Recommendation: Come prepared. Know which designers they carry and get familiar with their dresses (save pictures, etc). This will allow you to make the most of your appointment time. If you become dead set on a particular designer and have a flexible schedule, find out when the trunk show is and make an appointment. I was under a bit of a time crunch and had to order a dress during my second appointment, which I did. After sleeping on it, I realized that i made the wrong choice. I emailed Marah (who was on vacation with her family) in a panic asking if there was anything i could do. She quickly contacted Mark and because my deposit didn't go out to the designer yet, i was able to change the order. I came in a few days later and got fitted for the dress I should've picked. Lastly, the alterations were perfect. I could not believe what the seamstress was able to do with such delicate material. The dress fit me perfectly! If your budget allows for it, I strongly strongly recommend going here.

Mark Ingram is THE place to buy your dress in NYC, and I'm happy to recommend their stylist, Indira, as THE bridal consultant to see. Truth be told, I knew the dress I wanted before I ever tried anything on, but wanted to do my due diligence to the process. Indira provided so many beautiful suggestions, and I happily tried them all on. THEN, she tracked down the 2012 Jenny Packham style I was in love with and had it shipped over from England (since, being an older style, they didn't keep a sample in stock) in both the champagne and ivory colors it comes in. While there were a few close seconds from Indira's rounds of suggestions, the Jenny Packham style I'd had my eye on won out - I was so thankful to her for finding it and making my dream dress happen.

Any time anyone gets engaged, I insist that they HAVE to go to Mark Ingram for their wedding dress. I went to a few other bridal salons during my search, and Mark Ingram blows them all out of the water. I work in fashion and wanted something a little different and unexpected, yet classic, and Mark Ingram was the only place I went where I felt the dresses were truly unique works of art. They carry a curated selection of high fashion gowns that cannot be found elsewhere, without being incredibly overwhelming and exhausting. My bridal consultant, Anju, asked me about my personal style and the vibe of my wedding, and somehow brought me the perfect wedding on her first try. It was like nothing I could have imagined, and yet she was able to grasp my style and what I was looking for and find me the ideal dress. She was like a fairy godmother! Once the dress came in, Anju and my seamstress, Maggie, worked tirelessly to ensure that the dress fit like a glove. They picked up on tiny imperfections that I didn't even notice and would not stop until the dress fit perfectly. I have never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day, and I 100% owe it to Anju, Maggie, and the team at Mark Ingram for making me feel like a princess.

Ayana is a DREAM. Mark and his entire staff saved me from a wedding gown nightmare. I had ordered a gown from another atelier that came in wrong and had to find a gown just 5 months before my wedding. Ayana found it for me in 10 mins. Not only that, Mark absorbed the rush fees. I wanted to re-design the neckline so we ordered extra fabric. The ladies who work in the alterations department are seriously unreal. I had 4 fittings as I was nervous about the changes. Each time, they were so attentive and they never rushed me. They took their time and made me feel special and beautiful. Lovely people. High end and you feel like you're in a couture bridal shop. LOVE THEM!

Ayana was amazing! She had so much energy even though I was the last appointment of the day. We traveled from Vancouver, Canada to purchase my dress at Mark Ingram after visiting many dress stores and trying on a ton of gowns. Ayana was super efficient and not pushy at all! I purchased a beautiful Inbal Dror gown I had been eyeing from their runway show during a trunk show. Even though they are the only ones to carry Inbal Dror in NYC, I am so glad I worked with them. Alene was my stylist and was great to work with. Bearnice did my alterations and I cannot thank her enough. The work she did with my dress to completely remove my train after the ceremony was incredible. Everyone was in awe of my dress and it was exactly how I envisioned it!

This is a high-end boutique, but it didn't feel out of my league. If their prices are within your budget, it's worth a look. They carry some amazing well-known designers' dresses and the woman helping me was super knowledgable and understood both what I was telling her and what would look good on my body.

The staff at Mark Ingram is great. I had a couple of tear sheets with me that were older and they went into the back to find the dresses I had pulled. Everything from start to finish was great. We were treated wonderfully. It was small and intimate and didn't feel like a dress mill. Everyone from the dress consultant to the alterations team were amazing to work with.

I can't say enough about my experience with Mark Ingram ---- they are off the charts! After visiting a few other bridal salons, the intimate setting was very pleasant right off the bat. Anshu was my consultant and she was amazing!!!! I gave her a rough idea of what I wanted...she heard it...came up with something...and literally found what would be my wedding gown on the first try. It was magical!

Maggie was my seamstress and I was obsessed with her. She got me so excited to be a bride every time I saw her. They were as vested in the dress as I was, making sure every detail was perfect. Even toward the end when I needed a last minute/extra fitting, it was a non-issue.

These women were incredible and I would HIGHLY recommend checking out Mark Ingram when your looking for your wedding dress!

Indira at Mark Ingram is the most amazing salesperson and person, in general. She has beautiful taste and so much patience (key when it comes to weddings, believe me!). I wanted a dress I hadn't seen before - trust me, an almost impossible task. She found a brand new designer and helped to execute a custom, beautiful and perfect dress. Further, Debbie, the seamstress, is amazingly talented and made my vision a reality. They also helped procure a dress for my rehearsal dinner that had never been made in the color I requested, but they made it happen!!! I loved this process and recommend them to everyone.

I think I visited every bridal store in NYC and DC and Mark Ingram has hands down the best selection and service! My gown was absolutely gorgeous. They have something for every bride there. While prices tend to be a bit higher here, the value is there. The dresses are impeccable, and you will get the sales staff member's undivided attention throughout the entire process from consultation to wedding day. Definitely add them to your list of shops to check out! You won't regret it.

I liked having a smaller, more personalized service at Mark Ingram rather than the larger stores like Saks and Kleinfeld's...both of which I found to be snobby and cold. All of the consultants were very nice, and my dress fit perfectly! Other friends with strapless dresses spent the night yanking the tops of their dresses up. I didn't touch mine once!

Marah and the entire Mark Ingram team were a dream to work with!!! I went there for my first wedding appointment 2 weeks after my engagement and bought the first dress I tried on!! The staff is so friendly. The alterations process was easy and painless!!! I got married in Florida and they shipped my dress and vail for me. The items arrived in a box packaged perfectly and without a wrinkle!! It was an incredible experience!!!

one word obsessed with this place...after having a horrible experience Klenifields in NYC ( see my review on Yelp) I definitely did not say "yes to a dress there." I walked into Mark Ingram and was treated with such royalty it was amazing ! From the day I walked in to the my last and final fitting everyone was amazing. Words cannot express how wonderful they were and are. I found the perfect dress and I could not have been happier with my decision everyone loved the dress and most importantly the staff down to the receptionist were great. I worked with Lidia and she was also so nice to me and promptly answered any questions that I might have had along the way!! Definitely go to Mark Ingram even if you are not from NYC it is worth your time to go :)

I purchased my Vera Wang from Mark Ingram and from the moment I stepped into the store they treated me like their own. It was the 6th store I had been too and was almost decided on a completely different Vera dress before my consultant pulled out a new one no other shop had shown me. They were great to work with and arranged to have the dress shipped to my home in Denver for my wedding (I was living in NYC at the time though). They were great!

I am so glad that I went to Mark Ingram to get my wedding gown! The consultants are amazing. They found my ideal gown! I couldn't imagine wearing anything else and I never would have been able to get this elsewhere. They carry the best designers and even among those designers they select the best pieces within each collection. This shop is curated like a great museum. Plus, the alterations department was wonderful and the gown fit like a glove. They are simply the best...

Really really wonderful. I have simple taste and wound up with an Elizabeth Filmore gown and bought it during a trunk show so spent under $3,000. Nevertheless, they treated me (specifically Lidia) like I had spent a lot more. Absolutely impecable service and intimate setting.

Bridesmaid dresses were purchased from JCrew (the silk tricotine dresses) and groomsmen attire from Victor Talbots in LI.

Mark Ingram was my last stop on my first day of dress shopping. I met with Lidia, a petite and very lovely woman whose opinion I came to respect immensely through the process of selecting and fitting my dress. Mark Ingram has a small but extremely well edited collection of dresses and gowns and I came to them specifically to try Lela Rose dresses (which is the designer I ended up going with). Lidia was fantastic. She was very honest about what she felt looked good and what didn't flatter me as much. She was professional and very kind, and has a good eye for detail and fashion. The woman who did my alterations was also lovely and very sweet, although now I can't remember her name. Mark Ingram is not a huge bridal factory like other places in Manhattan, but instead a lovely atelier with a beautiful selection. Not as wide a range of prices, however, so if your budget is more limited they might not have something in the price range. Highly recommended!

The ladies at Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier are fabulous. Unlike many other boutiques I went to, these ladies have many many years of experience and know what looks good on different bodies. I loved the intimate atmosphere of this boutique and the personal attention. They have a great selection of modern, beautiful gowns from the best designers and host regular trunk shows. Im so glad I made the trek from Boston to NYC to select my Lela Rose gown from Mark Ingram Bridal. If you dont want to be rushed out the door because there is a line of brides waiting to try on the same dress you just did, go to Mark Ingram Bridal!

Simply the best. The minute I walked into this atelier I knew it was exactly where I wanted to buy my dress. Their selection is superb, their service is amazing (I adore Kelsey, ask for her if you can), and they really know how to make a client feel special. The intimate nature of this atelier is fantastic, and is what sold me. I would highly recommend Mark Ingram Atelier for your bridal gown. I worked with Lydia, and she was an abolute dream. She is fun and quirky, with amazing style, and she is incredibly knowledgeable. I purchased two dresses, and got a discount on the second, which I believe is standard if you buy more than one. My sister also got engaged, and bought her dress there. Believe it or not, they have a sister discount! Amazing!
The alterations were absolutely magic. Intially the slip on one of my dresses was not cut properly, so I was a little nervous. But they fixed it easily, and I both dresses fit absolutely perfectly in the end. We had fun everytime we visited the boutique. I would highly recommend them. They are the consummate professionals.

The women at the Bridal Atelier were stylish, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. I told my consultant my price range, style, and described the type of wedding I wanted to have. She brought me in 5-6 dresses that were all absolutely perfect!!!! It was hard to pick one dress because they were all beautiful and perfect for me. She really listened to what I said and catered to my needs. I never once felt pressured to make a decision about my dress (I felt this way at other vendors in the city). The only problem that I had was that my bustle kept coming undone on the night of the wedding. I heard that this is very common, but it was a bit troublesome when everyone kept stepping on my dress. Overall though, Marc Ingram is fantastic! I've already sent 2 friends to Marc Ingram, and they both have had great experiences as well.

Marah Melillo saved me from all the perils of dress shopping! She found my dream dress within seconds of me describing exactly what i liked and didn' t like. She is so kind, thoughtful, positive, and has an amazing sense of style. She encouraged me throughout the whole process from purchasing to my very last fitting. Eva Kamberaj was lovely too. I found my wedding dress at an Oscar de la Renta trunk show here! I had been to Kleinfeld's earlier that day, and the difference is atmosphere was absurd. Kleinfeld's was fine, and I had one of the famous women from the show helping me, but I felt rushed and not at all special. At Mark Ingram Atelier I felt taken care of the minute I arrived. Anju listened to what I wanted and found dresses at a variety of price points. At Kleinfeld's, I was only shown dresses at the top of my budget, even though I would pass less expensive dresses that were more my style on my way back to the dressing room.

My dress from MI Atelier makes me feel truly special, and I am so excited for my first fitting!

Mark Ingram is THE place to go if you want personalized service and a boutique feel. I deliberately chose to AVOID the awful stress that is Kleinfeld's... I really wanted a chic, luxurious, cozy feel and really personalized service and I got that at Mark Ingram! I worked with Anju who I clicked with immediately. She understood what I wanted and introduced me to the designer Elizabeth Fillmore, who I never would've thought to consider!

Exquisite selection, excellent service (thank you Sandra and Debbie!), friendly and warm. On my first trip, Sandra listened to my thoughts about a dress, pulled about 10 dresses all of which I loved and found the "one" on the first try. She and the team at Mark Ingram continued to be warm, helpful and professional thoughtout by second and third views of the "one" (with my mom, and then my sister) and were all around wonderful throughout the ordering, accessorizing, fitting and alteration process. I was even able to buy my bra and a surprisingly affordable custom veil there. My dress (a Rivini) was stunning and very me and I wouldn't have picked it out without Sandra's keen eye. Definitely worth a trip to view the dresses!

This is the best place to buy a wedding dress in NYC, and I would recommend it to everyone. It's small and intimate, and they KNOW their stuff. The dress I ended up wearing was the first one they pulled for me -- the same thing happened with a good friend of mine. The dress selection process was wonderful -- they know how to understand your wedding setting, your aesthetic, and your body. Also important is that the level of service and attention to detail was extended through the alteration process. They couldn't be more professional and helpful. The only reason I have a lower star rating for "flexibility" is that it was sometimes difficult to fit into the alteration schedule (this was because I was doing all of this in June and they were very busy). But I wouldn't let this stop you from going to Mark Ingram -- it is the best.

My Monique dress was amazing. They do not bring you anything above your price range and listen to what you want. They are not pushy! Do not miss this place and skip Kleinfelds! I worked with Anju and got the most gorgeous Monique Lhuillier dress. It was not at all what I said I wanted when I arrived but she knew what would look good on me and brought it out, anyway. So glad she did! The studio is also gorgeous - much better mood/ambience than the other salons we visited. One con is that the alterations are very expensive, even when you can't tell exactly what changes were made. It also took a long time and several follow-ups to get e-mail responses but overall I was so happy I worked with Bridal Atelier.

I purchased my Carolina Herrera gown at Mark Ingram during one of their Sample Sales. It was a relatively relaxed and enjoyable experience, especially compared to other Sample Sales I have been to. I was able to make an appointment and I tried on a number of gorgeous gowns. The sales girl that was there was quite helpful. She let me try on my dress with a belt they had in the back to get a better idea of how it would look on my actually wedding day. She even let me send a photo to my mom so she could weigh in on the decision, since I was shopping alone. They typically don't allow photos at these sales, but it was the only way I would have been able to make a decision. They also recommended a wonderful cleaning service and seamstress!

This is a charming and a first class salon, and my consultant Tammy, my seamstress, (from Guiana), and just the presence of Mark Ingram, the most gentle soul...made my dress shopping experience just so pleasant and a joyous one. Also, keep in mind ladies that this salon is very sheik, so they know exactly where to get your samples to try on in a timely manner.

Originally I saw a dress in a magazine and tried it on there but it didn't look good on me. Tammy immediately found the perfect dress and others that were to compliment me, but she knew exactly what I wanted and accessorized it with the appropriate veils, jeweled comb, and everything else.

I did find the dress for the same cost but no tax since I live in NJ, but because the service was outstanding and they are known for their alterations, I paid for the shipping and had it sent to NJ. They also had the same alteration price that was in NJ and they were able to compete with that.

I believe they are by appointment only and since I only had 6 months to plan, I felt that if there were someone answering the phones more often it would have been better for me to organize my time better. However I waited for a Paris trunk show that never occurred and it put me in a bit of a rush to find the right custom made veil but again, Tammy to the rescue!

My price range was lower than what I planned to pay but then again, after visiting 3 other salons after Mark Ingram there was no comparison. Mark Ingram had the best selections of everything that made me say, "I LOVE IT!"

I truly was made to feel very special at the Mark Ingram Bridal Atelier. The service was impeccable, and they were always quick to respond and/or reply to my needs. My seamstress (Melissa) was PHENOMENAL!! My gown was lace, and as most brides do, I lost a lot of weight before the wedding...this required Melissa to pick up and move the lace with each inch she had to take the dress in. She was amazing - and I was so lucky to have worked with her and Kelsey. My gown was PERFECT, in every way...and my fittings were always tons of fun, thanks to the great staff.

Overall, walking into Mark Ingram is like being in a fairy tale. I miss going there on a regular basis. I went to about 10 places before this one and the first dress I tried on was the one I picked. However, when I got the dress in after 2-3 months, it was too small-- to the point they said I couldnt have gained that much weight for it to be that off. So they put in an order for a new one. It was 6 weeks later (2 months before the wedding) and I still hadn't heard anything. It took my mom calling (and threatening) to get a response. Then they were walking on eggshells but in the end, very nice and accommodating after that. I'm not a psycho bride but I thought a follow up should have been in order by 6 weeks later. Net net, lovely experience but not as seamless as I thought it would be.

I went to Mark Ingram after looking at several other bridal salons. The day I went they happened to be having an Oscar De La Renta trunk show which is when I ended up getting my dress. While the dress is beautiful, I really had a problem with some of the people who are employed there. The Seamstress and front desk receptionist were great but my personal person always had an attitude with me, did not respond to my emails, and wasn't flexible when I made suggestions.

All the dresses at Mark Ingram cost a pretty penny. What you're really getting is the service here, and in certain cases, a more unusual selection than you could find anywhere else. I wound up with a dress by Le Spose di Gio, a line designed by two Italian women that isn't carried anywhere else in New York, or on the east coast for that matter. I had a truly wonderful experience working with Sandra, who I love to bits. She is SO easy-going and laid back, but equally importantly, has a truly amazing eye - both to select dresses that are exactly in keeping with your personal style, as well as with telling you when a dress doesn't work and does, and how to alter it so it can work better.

Also, the tailoring here is pretty great. INCREDIBLY expensive, but the tailor I worked with was a genius and built a removable train that didn't exist on the dress out of its extra fabric because I was anti-bustle.

Beautiful gowns, but disappointed in level of service at checkout. Ultimately, the overall experience should be an enjoyable one, especially when you're spending thousands of $ on a dress. Hope your experience is better, but I wouldn't go back.

The selection of dresses were beautiful. I was very pleased with the dress and recieved many compliments on it. However, the sales team was more rushed than I would like them to be and a bit distracted. After my dress was paid in full, it seemed they were less helpful with my alterations.

I was disappointed with my experience at mark Ingram. I would use them again ONLY because I loved my wedding dress and it was the only place I saw it out. However, I found my consultant to be extremely condescending and rude. In addition, my alterations were done sloppy and had to be redone and on the day of my wedding I was on the floor cutting tacks out of my dress that were accidentally left in. I would not recommend Mark Ingram.

Seamstress ruined custom wedding gown

I was so excited after purchasing a beautiful custom Mira Zwillinger gown from Mark Ingram. The style consulting, selection, and service were friendly and accommodating as expected until the seamstress ruined both the gown and the entire experience. I unfortunately assumed that when she made the alterations she would transfer the appliqué, but instead she CUT ACROSS THE APPLIQUÉ ON THE DRESS to alter the gown and then FOLDED THE REMAINING APPLIQUÉ ON THE OTHER SIDE SO IT LOOKS LIKE THE SEAM HAS SOME BACKWARDS APPLIQUÉ. This was on an illusion dress that should only have one layer of front-facing appliqué. Moreover, I should not have needed these alterations in the first place because it was custom to my measurements, but she must have done my initial measurements incorrectly. It’s so obviously wrong, and I was completely devastated. I told her it didn’t look right at the next fitting, and her response was “well that ship has sailed honey” and “nobody will be looking there anyway” … Rather rude, and she completely missed the point—I paid good money for the dress and expected the details of the lace appliqué to be handled with care, but it was not, and I certainly did not appreciate the attitude either. I expected so much more from a seamstress working at an atelier with very high end designers. I decided to take the gown home before the seamstress could cause more damage. Adding salt to the wound, the atelier made me pay her around $1000 for the bad alterations before they would ship the gown to me. A VERY upsetting experience over all, and a waste of what should have been an absolute dream of a gown.

Draining experience with many errors

My experience with Mark Ingram Atelier during my wedding preparations was distressing. From dress shipping and fitting to alterations, it caused significant stress and letdown. I had bought three dresses for the ceremony, reception, and after-party, all of which had errors two months before the wedding – issues I wouldn't have encountered elsewhere. I'm sharing this to urge you to think twice before making the same mistake I made by choosing them.
Part 1:My initial appointment with MIA proceeded smoothly, showcasing various selections from various wedding dress designers. Impressed, I promptly scheduled a follow-up appointment with my stylist Jill through email, confirmed via phone call two days prior. To my astonishment, upon arrival, I was left waiting because my stylist was occupied with another client, despite the confirmation call. This stylist was the same person who had arranged the appointment after my email request. Unfortunately, she neither greeted me nor apologized for the inconvenience caused by the mix-up. The sales manager eventually stepped in to assist me with dress shopping. During the appointment, I discussed retaining the dress's sample color – a nuanced shade instead of pure white. The stylist remarked, "We trust the designer's intended design. The dress incorporates a nude color tone for a specific reason." Feeling content, I signed the contract. I attended the fitting 2 months before the wedding day, the dress was entirely white – a much paler shade than the one I had initially tried on. Their response focused on the contract. They highlighted that it stated "Ivory White" for the lining and the color. The meaning of "ivory white" had not been clarified when I signed the contract. Regrettably, they exploited this ambiguity to sidestep what they had convinced me to purchase. I paid an additional 25% to return the dress to the designer to change the lining.

Part 2: I thought things couldn't get worse, another debacle unfolded with my reception dress. The fit was disproportionate, and the design diverged from what I had tried on. The sample dress was four sizes larger than my actual size. However, the dress tailored to my size, had excessive fabric and differed substantially. The original V-shaped front with a waist cutout was replaced by a design completely covering my waist, and the straps were much broader. Upon notifying them with photo evidence from the sample fitting and the actual alteration, they asserted that the dress looked different due to proportional tailoring. They evaded my calls for two days. Eventually, they organized a conference involving their sales manager, alteration director, and stylist, acknowledging that the dress was wrongly crafted by the designer and committing to making it suitable. By then, I was drained from the struggle of constant calls and disheartened by the dual errors I had experienced within a week. Frustrated, I requested a refund. Initially met with resistance, they eventually agreed to a refund due to their mistakes.

Part 3: I had alterations with in-house seamstress Deb. Her first attempt to modify the sleeves lacked finesse, resulting in visibly bulky fabric accumulations and an inelegant transition - she said little could be done since the fabric had already been cut. I inquired why she hadn't discussed the final result beforehand, to which she claimed that her methods were conventional and unquestioned by other brides. My insistence led to a somewhat improved transition despite her reluctance to communicate issues. About my after-party dress, originally designed with a cross-back strap, the alteration yielded a double straight back, with a tight strap that resembled a tote bag handle rather than a dress strap. Showing her a photo of the incorrect alteration, Deborah claimed there wasn't sufficient fabric to remedy and it looked just fine. I had to propose getting additional fabric from the designer to resolve this. Despite all these, the alteration expenses remained unchanged, which was already quite costly and did not justify its price.

Terrible experience here. They had great dresses, but the unfortunately only care about making the sale. They absolutely do not care about the happiness of their clients. I have warned all of my friends and family to not go there for their dresses. Super unfortunate.

First, I will start by saying that during my experience at the atelier, I met Mark himself who was lovely and professional. It is just a shame that his employee, Tammy, had not taken a note from his playbook. The best way to describe my experience is like an adaptation of the scene in Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts walks into a store and is treated like nothing, the store representatives assuming she is not up to their level. I did provide Tammy with my rough, but flexible, budget of $7,000 give or take. She spent the majority of my appointment paying attention to a super model-esq British woman who was in the room next to me, but who had her own shop representative to assist her. She happened to have in her room the Alon Livne gown that initially drew me to Mark Ingram to begin with, and instead of handling that, she tried to discourage me from trying it on and mentioned also that it was outside of my budget. When the dress was finally free for me to try, she tried to tell me that the dress was made exclusively for Mark Ingram, which is a flat out lie. I had been to a boutique in Washington D.C. that confirmed the skirt could be ordered one of two styles, and later confirmed that with a representative from Alon Livne directly. She treated my mom condescendingly, and lacked any warmth that you would expect from a seasoned "professional" in the field. This treatment continued when I was in touch after the appointment to have additional information about the gowns I tried on, because all she had done was draw a rough sketch of them with the designer name, so in my decision making process, I couldn't even look them up to give it more thought. It was like pulling teeth to get any additional information. I was practically begging to spend money with her. I was so turned off and discouraged by the interaction, that I ended up purchasing a gown in Washington D.C. and spent $12,000 because of how comfortable I was in the boutique environment and with the servic
