We would definitely recommend.

When planning our wedding, my husband and I were looking for something that was beautiful and EASY, and we found exactly that with Marina Village. We planned a wedding for April 2020 at Marina Village in the Bay View room, and had a wonderful experience with planning. Pricing and requirements were completely up front and transparent, and the staff were a delight to work with. The rules around timing, vendors, and on-site restrictions are beyond generous, and gave us the freedom and flexibility to really have a wedding that was exactly what we wanted but easily stay within our budget. AND it's BYOB (with insured bartender), which is so hard to find in San Diego! AAAND they offer free overnight parking for guests, and a 15% discount on room blocks at The Dana down the street.

Unfortunately due to the county-wide lockdown for COVID-19 two weeks before our wedding, we had to completely cancel all of our plans last minute. Marina Village was not only completely open in communication and empathetic in a time that must have been so difficult for their business, but they also gave us a 100% refund even though we had already paid in full. They did not have to be this gracious and understanding, and plenty of other wedding vendors/venues did not respond in the same manner.

We want to thank the entire staff at Marina Village for being so wonderful to us throughout the entire planning process. We ended up eloping, but we hope to hire Marina Village again for many celebrations to come, and will recommend them with the highest regards to all of our friends.

I’m writing this one year after my wedding and it’s definitely overdue. Of all the rooms owned by Marina Village, the Bayview is the best. We checked all the rooms on the property and felt this one worked best for our theme.
We went with a tropical and country theme.
Does that work? Yes, yes it does.

The room accommodates up to 250 guests and includes conference chairs and tables. Our guest count was only 60 plus the vendors.
We did not use the loft for anything other than the staging area for the wedding party. After our ceremony on the North lawn, also booked through Marina Village, we entered from the back of the Bayview room and immediately went upstairs. The allowed the wedding party a little break, a little food and beverage, and a little conversation, before taking the main stairs down to the first floor as our grand entrance.
The loft has restrooms so you can change or freshen up before jumping back into the festivities.
We had a few guests using walkers or canes and they always appreciate the ample space. A larger room works. Plenty of space for the welcome table, dessert table, dj setup, and photobooth. We had photo array photobooth which needed more space than the traditional due to the multiple camera setup. We used the wall of the staircase as the backdrop and added a balloon arch. I added an image of my first draft floor plan so you can get an idea.
Marina Village also offers two reception sites, South Lawn and North Lawn.
We chose the North lawn though it was a farther trek to the reception.
We felt the North lawn had the better backdrop of the marina and less noise from the traffic. Downside is the dumpster location to the side. There is a space housing the dumpster with a door but the door always seems to be open.
Just make sure to have guest chairs positioned at an angle so that it’s out of their peripheral view. I’m sure the set up crew already knows but make sure your coordinator keeps an eye out for that!

We used Ranch Events for catering, bartender, and floral. All the additional tables, barrels, furniture was rented though Ranch Events. We also decided to use white chairs and rented those through them as well. I believe Marina Village also offered rentals ( tables only, I think) but I believe the selection was limited.
Ranch Events is also located on the property but separate from Marina Village. It made things easy. A one stop shop. I recommend working with both to save time, energy, and.. money!

Words can't describe how perfect our wedding day was all thanks to the Marina Village! My now husband and I have always loved the ocean and they offer you the opportunity to say I Do right next to the water on their beautiful Marina and their reception room options are amazing! Our reception was held in the Marine Room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the ocean and romantic chandeliers over the dance floor... Brides it was to die for! They give you the wedding of your dreams for the best price available and they make the entire process as smooth as possible! I would recommend to everyone to take a tour of the Marina Village I promise you will regret it if you don't!

My wedding will be on October 5, 2019. So far the staff has been great and food tasting was delicious. I’m looking forward to my big day to come. I will be having 100 guests.

We looked at a lot of venues and we chose Marina Village and are happy that we did. Everything was perfect! The staff was very helpful and the venue was beautiful. Everything went very smoothly from start to finish. I would highly recommend Marina Village for your event.

I really liked having the changing room next to the office it really helped. Rosalind was professional all the way. We had our wedding at the Bay View room and ceremony at the north lawn. Catering by Ranch events also located at Marina Village.

Marina Village was the perfect combination of flexibility, affordability, and experience. We loved being able to have an external caterer as well as being able to purchase, bring, and take home our alcohol. At the same time, their many years of experience and strong relationships with vendors made some of the finer details much easier. We had our reception in the Sunset Room and it was so nice having lighting (Pedro), decor and rentals (Ranch Events) onsite. Definitely would recommend to those who want to customize their event a bit.

We got married on the North Lawn and had our reception in the Sunset Room and it was the most magical day! The photos are PHENOMENAL because the backdrop is gorgeous. Our room was magical with an excellent view! Would definitely recommend Marina Village for anyone getting married or hosting an event!

We had a reception at Marina Village in the Bayview room and it was amazing. They were very nice and helpful when our coordinator didn't get them the necessary info in a timely manner.

We got married on the South Lawn and held our reception in the Bay View Room and we couldn't have been happier with our experience. We met with Kris in the office and had a very easy meeting to select our room and date. He explained everything as we went through the contracts and was responsive when we had questions.

We chose Bay View because we had a large guest list and still wanted to have room for a dance floor. They will set up the room however you want (they will give input if they don't think a layout will work) and its up to you to bring in the rest. That worked perfectly for our budget and allowed us to meet and research every vendor we chose to work with.

The only thing that wasn't 100% perfect (and Kris warned us multiple times about this but we weren't able to spread the information about it to everyone who helped set up) was that the A/C doesn't run if any of the doors are open. This makes sense from an energy waste standpoint, but since the caterers and other set up helpers had the doors propped open while they were going in and out and setting everything up, the room was not air conditioned before the guests arrived. It got HOT very quickly. This is not Marina Village's fault and we made the best of it - some of my bridesmaids literally danced with their napkins in hand. But for future couples, make little post it notes for all of the doors alerting people that the doors need to be closed for the A/C to run and ask your caterers and set up staff to ensure all doors are closed at least an hour before your event is supposed to start. The A/C can't catch up once you pile 150 warm bodies into an already warm room.

Other than that, absolutely no complaints. We had a fabulous day and a gorgeous wedding.

We had the pleasure of working with Tanya, and was amazed by the customer service provided from booking the Venue to the day of the wedding. Our needs were met and she even checked in to make sure all ways going well during the setup. We had our ceremony on the North Lawn and reception in the Bayview Room, allowing our guests the opportunity to walk instead of drive between locations. Marina Village is highly recommend!

We used Marina Village for our ceremony which we had on the South Lawn. They set up the chairs and then took them down after we were done. The area was beautiful and it was also affordable which was huge for us!

Marina Village is a great venue whether you are planning ceremony and reception or just a reception. They offer many choices for both. They have offered us a great value for our reception. There is a caterer on site and I was able to find a person to drape and decorate our room at a very reasonable price. This is a full service venue and would be great for any celebration.

I absolutely love this venue! It was a great value and exactly what we were looking for. I loved the flexibility with bringing in our own vendors.

We had our reception in the Baja Room at Marina Village in March. We were very happy with our experience with Marina Village! They are very accommodating, offer a variety of rooms/sizes to choose from, and they are relatively affordable. They also allow you to bring in your own outside vendors (so many venues have pre-selected lists of extremely expensive vendors you're limited to), which was a HUGE selling point for us... We were on a limited budget, and that allowed us to find vendors that fit our budget and preferences. Their office staff, Mehrnaz and Dustee, were friendly, helpful, responsive, professional and accommodating. Thanks, Marina Village, for allowing us to have an awesome reception at a pretty location within our budget!

At first I was hesitant to book with Ranch Events because there were a few bad reviews. But my experience with RE and Rhonda was nothing short from amazing. She was extremely easy to work with, full of great innovative ideas, and very professional. She worked within our budget and made great suggestions to keep costs within our price range. We even got two food tastings, because at our first food tasting we were so stuffed after sampling all of the apps & entrees that we couldn’t decide on the cake flavor. So we scheduled a second cake tasting and Rhonda provided us with an unexpected entrée tasting as well. The food was even better at the reception than at the first and second tastings. At the tastings I wasn’t impressed with the asparagus, but at the reception they were steamed perfectly. Honestly, my guests raved about the food and cake. They are still talking about it! Rhonda suggested a creative, unique & cost effective touch to our table centerpieces, they were cake centerpieces and they turned out equally beautiful as delicious. She was able to find a specific type of rose to top the cake centerpieces in order to match the bouquets. Also there were a couple extra bonuses: RE served chocolate & strawberries with our cheese station, gummy bears & several candy toppings at the ice cream sundae bar and RE even supplied large decorative, blue light-up globes throughout the reception venue. The Seaside Room has comfortable & charming vibe and truly everything surpassed my expectations. Thank you everyone at RE, Rhonda, kitchen staff, wait staff, bartenders, decorating team and set-up/clean-up crew! The service was outstanding and the venue was decorated perfect! (If you have a special request, then just ask you’ll be surprised how accommodating RE/Rhonda can be.) Thank you for creating our best day ever!!!

I can't say enough good things about Marina Village. The staff was extremely helpful from pricing through the end of the reception. I always got clear answers- even when I was scatterbrained just before the wedding! They followed up, clarified, offered suggestions... there's really not much I could have asked for.

We got married on the North Lawn and had the reception in the Captains room. The ceremony space was beautiful. The trees arch over you, the boats and water sparkle in the background. They provided an arch for us to stand beneath and 100 chairs for our guests (additional chairs are available for a reasonable price).

The captains room was large enough for our 165 guests without feeling cramped. We had a good 20+ children running around and there was plenty of room. We ended up with what my father keeps calling "the stroller parade" outside, which was nice when people needed a little quiet. The marina makes for some beautiful views for a quick walk. There are also lots of benches and little spots to get a breather, which was nice to take advantage of with my husband.

Overall I highly recommend Marina Village. You're not going to beat the price for a venue on the water.

We held our ceremony and reception at Marina Village. We had the ceremony on the North Lawn, which is a flat lawn that looks out onto the Marina. They allow 3 hours on the lawn and they will set up and tear down the arch and chairs. We also booked the Bayview room for our wedding reception. The room comes with tables and chairs, which Marina Village will set up and tear down. This room has an amazing view of the marina which an easily be seen through the large glass windows. This room also comes with a bar area, which was perfect for hosting an open bar. We do want to mention that if you do not use their onsite catering, you will need to find all other items for this location, such as table linens, table decor, glasses, ice, silverware, plates, food, beverages and cake. This does allow you to keep to your budget, just be sure to make sure that outside vendors deliver and pick up.

We booked the Baja room and South Lawn at Marina Village for our July 2015 wedding. It has been such a joy working with the team at Marina Village, we're so thankful to have found this gem on Mission Bay.

Their pricing is beyond reasonable, the views are gorgeous, the staff is courteous, friendly and efficient. It was a home run for us. We wanted the flexibility to bring in our own vendors and handle our own bar - MV was the perfect choice because you have complete freedom to work with whatever vendors you like.

Pedro who works on site and also offers lighting and tulle decorations went above and beyond - I was incredibly impressed with how he brought our vision to life with the perfect touch of twinkle lights, white paper lanterns an tulle accents without being overdone and gaudy.

Marina Village was a great experience for my daughters wedding. The were so easy to work with and provided a beautiful setting for her wedding.

North Lawn for ceremony & Marine Room for reception. Very chill location and good price. Don't forget to lock down your block of time for your ceremony on the lawn early with the venue; they book a few weddings per day on each lawn!!

Marina Village is a GORGEOUS location that is right on the water with an amazing background for pictures! We planned our wedding in two months and they had plenty of rooms available when we called and the ceremony site was also available! The ladies that work there were very helpful and allowed us to go see the reception room multiple times to plan our layout, measure the walls and ceiling, etc.. They also had a list of vendors in case we needed services that we could not find, which was very helpful. I highly recommend this to anybody who is looking for gorgeous wedding pictures and huge rooms to choose from!

I had my wedding there on easter 4/20/2014 on the south lawn & in the starboard room..its was very affordable & they work with you..i had an amazing wedding & thank them soooo much..i will recommend this place to diy brides & grooms..

I love Marina Village because they let you do pretty much whatever you want! You can bring in your own alcohol, choose whatever catering company you want, and they set up all the tables for you. It's an old venue but once you decorate to your liking, then it totally transforms the rooms. I loved Marina Village!

Great place to have any event! We absolutely loved the Sunset room at Marina village and would recommend using the Marina Village Conference Center to all our friends and family. It is great value for the money, the people that run the place are extremely professional and very helpful. They have many different rooms to choose from and hold events here all the time so they definitely know you may have questions or little things will arise, they are more than willing to help if they can. The Sunset room is beautiful with many windows as most places there are, and it overlooks a marina which is picture perfect for any event. My guests loved it, I loved that it was a blank canvas I could play with and decorate how I wanted, and we had the best time.

I had my wedding on the south lawn and in the bayview room. I could not have been happier any where else. It was amazing. Jennifer is the one who helped me but she moved out of state, everyone else was just as friendly.

The staff was very helpful and professional. I was planning from out of town and they provided measurements for the room and windows so I could make decor preparations. Everything was great! The ceremony was perfect. The ONLY issue I had was with a security guard that was harassing our party about needing to clean up before we leave. We had it under control looong before he said something but he felt the need to reminder Moms, Dads, Grandma, brother, my maid of honor. It was very unfortunate that was a memorable moment but we all can laugh about the weirdo guard now.

We held our ceremony and reception at Marina Village and it was great! There prices were reasonable, they were the most flexible venue we looked at and the location is beautiful! With the room we chose we could bring in our own alcohol (saved us a ton of $!) and caterer. However, we went with the caterer that is required in some of their other rooms because they were actually the lowest price around and they did an amazing job. The staff at Marina Village was friendly and they gave us a lot of great suggestions, including who to hire to decorate the room for us. He was very affordable and did a great job, the room looked great! It is a great place to have a wedding and we would definitely recommend them!

We loved being able to Bring in our own caterer's alcohol, decor and DJ and the freedom of having all day to set up and plenty of time for clean up.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone there for making our wedding absolutely perfect! The venue is beautiful...we used the North lawn and the Sunset Room (which you have to see at Sunset to really appreciate the view). Jennifer who works in the office was absolutely amazing! She was always available via email and responded within a timely manner which was huge because we are located approximately 2 hours north so any questions that I had for her were always answered! We had Pedro set up lights for us and let me tell you it made all the difference! The whole day was absolutely perfect and we owe it in large part to Marina Village!!!

This a beautiful venue for a wedding in San Diego. I love the fact that you can get the room for 5 hours of use, but can have it all day for set up. You can also bring in all your own vendors to make it much more cost effective for all of those on a budget. Our wedding was beautiful!

We used the Sunset Room and it was beautiful. Family and Friends loved the sunset view and the out of town guest were impressed with the views of the harbor. Said it was a nice San Diego feel:-) The room was perfect for our guest count of 150. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Smiles everyday I walked in. Very Nice!! They asked what I wanted and delivered it perfectly!! So easy to work. My favorite was the view of the Sunset Room and the ease of them allowing me to bring in all my own vendors!! We also used the North Lawn for our Ceremony. It was such a beautiful day and I could have not asked for anything more. And just in case you are wondering about pictures..... Mine turned out amazing!! The grounds are such a beautiful place to take pictures!!! Love the harbor shots. This choice was easy for us!

HANDS DOWN THE MOST AFFORDABLE & BEST VENUE IN SAN DIEGO BY THE BAY!! I always knew I wanted a venue by the water, and got many quotes from different hotels and restaurants around by the bay and we couldn't afford them. Then when we saw Marina Village and all its pros and we were sold! You can hire any vendors for anything (not use any particular expensive one) and you can provide your own alcohol (definitely the biggest plus!) and you get your room the whole day! So no matter what time your reception is at, your vendors have from 9:00 a.m. on to set-up, also a big plus! We had the Baja Room, and although it may look plain at first sight, once your linen and flowers and lights are up, the room looked like venue straight out of magazine! And our wedding had a tight budget, so Marina Village was a perfect fit! Highly recommend this venue to anyone (budget or not)!!

The website does not do marina village justice- The staff is really terrific and we had everything we needed and the setup was perfect! No mistakes or problems! We were delighted! Everything looked nice and a great view

My wedding was on a Friday from 12-6pm...I had my ceremony on the SOUTH LAWN & Reception in the DOCKSIDE room. I LOVED this place! Having my wedding on a Friday during the day made the place quiet and it felt like we had the whole property to ourselves really! The Dockside room was excellent we used the patio area for the bar so it didn't take up space inside. We had 60 people and it was a perfect amount if you have guests that like to dance! They do NOT provide a dance floor though...well at least not in my room. They have round tables that come with the space and square linens (white or ivory) that you can rent. They looked great and they were clean! Over all I am happy with this spot. I recommend the SOUTH Lawn for a ceremony because there's less cars passing by.

We had our reception in the captain's room. The price is great for the venue and you can bring in all your own vendors. As long as you have any open bar you can bring all your own alcohol which saves SO much money.

I had a great experience with Marina Village. I thought our venue was absolutely beautiful. Never had any problems getting in to see our room, rehearsal and they always answered questions promptly. The guy even went out with the tape measure to give me all the dims for my arch. Being able to get in there at 9am to decorate our room saved us! We had a lot of decorating to do and we wouldn't have been able to put it off not being able to get in there so early. I thought it was a great value... being able to bring in our own food, alcohol... everything! Really really such an excellent value. Especially compared to other crazy expensive only get to come in 2 hrs before SD venues. We had our reception in the Spinnaker room... we had about 70 people and it worked out great. A lil cozy but hey that's what we were going for! A small intimate wedding. That room is a super value for a smaller wedding being it overlooks the bay. It is a bit dated but since my colors were blue it worked perfect with the blue carpet and blue beams.. you couldnt even tell really... all blended in with my blues. We hung some gorgeous blue material, twinkle lights, flowers, candlelight... it was stunning. I'm soooooooooooo happy with this venue. Still waiting on all of my pics but I'll def post once I get them in so you can see what we did with the room. Please email me with any questions. Happy to help out any future brides :)

We received so many compliments on the venue! We loved Marina Village. We had our ceremony on the South Lawn and the reception in the Bayview room. Everything was perfect and afordable.

Our wedding was in the Captain's Room (280 capacity) and it was by far the best "bang for the buck"! We reserved the room 4 months before our wedding and were very lucky that the date was available! Marina Village is such great value that it usually gets booked up fast, so we were lucky that with 4 months notice there was still availability for a Saturday. The staff there was extremely accomodating for us and allowed our family in at 8am to set things up for our 1pm wedding. They provided the arch and set up the chairs as we wanted for the ceremony and the same with the tables and chairs for the reception! It was great!! Our ceremony was outdoors on the grass facing the marina (beautiful views). The best thing about having a wedding at Marina Village is that we were able to bring in our own vendors, food, alcohol, and decorations (except in the Baja Room). That really saved us $$ in the long run! We had around 250 guests and if we would have had the wedding anywhere else, the wedding would have cost us at least double! So we are extremely happy that we had our wedding at Marina Village! Just keep your eye out for random wedding crashers!! LOL!! We were warned about it from friends prior to the wedding, and we did get some, but our guests shued them away. haha! But all in all, it was a great wedding location and I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants a great and memorable wedding!

MARINA VILLAGE WAS ONE OF THE EASIEST VENDORS TO WORK WITH. WE HELD OUR RECEPTION IN THE SUNSET ROOM, AND FOUND IT TO BE THE BEST PART OF OUR WEDDING. IT WAS FAIRLY INEXPENSIVE IN COMPARISON TO OTHER SITES. OUR ONLY GRIPE WAS THERE WAS NO HANDI-CAP ACCESSIBILITY (ON SECOND FLOOR, NO ELEVATOR), BUT WE MADE DO AND ALL OF OUR GUEST LOVED IT. COMFORTABLE SETTING.

The view of the Marina was beautiful and the size of room was perfect for the amount of people we had. The cost was also exactly what we needed it to be. Our pictures were to die for. The location is clean and very well maintained, and manicured.

It was actually less expensive for us to have our reception here than it was to have it in my parents' backyard. They were by far the most flexible of any venues we looked at. A DIY dream location. We did have a morning wedding and the no set up until 9 was a pain, but we knew what we were signing up for.

We used the Bayview Room for our wedding reception. We had Pedro the maintenance guy, decorate the entire room with twinkle lights. It looked AMAZING. Marine Village was very easy to work with and very responsive to all my questions.

We recently got married at Marina Village on 10-11-14. We loved it, our guests loved it & it's a beautiful location! Our ceremony was on the south Lawn & our reception was in the Baja Room. We loved that we got to pick & choose our vendors according to our budget. The staff at Marina Village is nice, friendly & provide great service. If you want a beautiful wedding next door to the bay go with Marina Village! :-))

We had our wedding at Marina Village and just loved our experience there. They allowed us to decorate as we wished and to select our own caterers. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful, given that we planned our wedding all the way from Chicago.

Super place to have an event, call them last minute and they provided us with a nice room for our Holiday party. Will call them again.

We chose the Seaside room for our ceremony (on the patio) and reception; catered by Ranch Events. The service and food is awesome, we are very pleased we choose that venue. We had Ramon as our day of coordinator and everything turned out perfect with no issues. Highly recommend!

Marina Village was a beautiful place to have our wedding ceremony and reception. We had the ceremony on the North Lawn, which I preferred to the South Lawn. We had our reception in the Sunset room. We had almost two hundred people attending our wedding, and everyone fit comfortably. The view was absolutely stunning; the reception room is on the second story with two walls that are floor-to-ceiling windows. The dance floor was a great size, and the bar space is huge! The best thing about this venue was that we were able to bring in all of our own vendors. We brought in our own caterer, cake, DJ, and photographer. It was much more cost effective than everything being done through the venue.

Overall, Marina Village's staff was fairly helpful, and the venue itself was absolutely perfect for our special day!

Marina Village was easy to work with, flexible, and affordable. I highly recommend having Pedro do the drapes at the venue the day of, he really makes the room look great. The location provided a great backdrop for our pictures. They were flexible with adding things that we needed for our wedding up until the day of! We used the Marine room which has an amazing view!

We held our ceremony (north lawn) and reception (spinnaker room) at Marina Village. We chose them based on our budget and the fact that we homebrew and wanted to bring our own beer for the reception.

The location is great, right on the marina. We got access to the reception room at 9am the day of, allowing us to decorate at will. They also provided us with table linens, an aisle runner, and an arch. We also liked that the table and chairs were included in the rental price.

Overall, our experience with Marina Village was good! They were quick to respond to questions as they arose. It's a great choice for a DIY wedding!

Simply amazing service. Wife and I wanted something that looked amazing and didn't blow our budget out of the water. We reserved the Bay View room and the south lawn for the ceremony.
From beginning to end, our experience with the staff from the Marina Village was painless. Anything wife and I needed, weather it was a question, a concern, ANYTHING, the staff was always a phone call away. When you call the number, a person answered every time, not some annoying machine.
We did have one incident. Our cake was ruined due to ants. It truly was a huge disappointment. I was furious. I approached the Marina Village and explained what had happened. The staff was truly sympathetic with us, and was truly and sincerely sorry about the incident. After a couple of conversations, the Marina agreed to comp some of the cost of the cake and did give us a full return of our security deposit. No crazy hidden fees or random deductions due to sillyness. I cannot say that I am 100% satisfied with "partial" compensation given that the WHOLE cake and 135 cupcakes were ruined, but I DO understand that the Marina cannot control ants. They
Assured me the whole complex gets sprayed for pest control. Which I do believe.
The bottom line is that the service, the location, the lawn for the ceremony, and the hall for the reception were ALL amazing. I will definitely return to the Marina for any future events I might have.
The staff is incredible, and their price is by far the best in San Diego, taking into consideration the location and the view you get from any of the halls. And please do not let my ants incident sway you away. I am mentioning it because I do believe in honest reviews. I would not recommend this place if I believed the Marina goes through great extents to maintain their property.

I had my reception at Marina Village June 2013. We originally wanted to do both ceremony and reception but things happened and we ended up getting married before our original date. The customer service was great. We mainly talked to Victoria, she ended up leaving sometime this year before June. She was very helpful and understanding with all our changes throughout the year before our actual date.
We had our reception in the Bayview Room and it was amazing. I like the fact that you are able to do everything yourself with this venue. I do recommend that you either start your set up for the room right at 9am, the earliest you can get in your room, or have family help out decorating. That was my only downfall, I was late to my own reception, but thats my fault.
For the price and location I believe Marina Village is a beautiful place for your ceremony and/or reception.

Marina Village was amazing. I could not believe their prices compared to other venues with less options. We had our ceremony on the South Lawn, and our reception in the Bayview Room. The Bayview was the exact room I was looking for; it's beautiful with little need for decoration. I'd recommend it to any bride on a budget

Our experience with Marina Village as our wedding venue was great! It was very convenient to have the ceremony right next to the reception venue. We held our event in the Sunset Room and on the North Lawn. The value for the space was definitely the best we found in the city and the value was further extended by us being allowed to bring in our own vendors.

The only minor issue we ran into was with scheduling the various events associated with the wedding. We were unable to hold a rehearsal on site the day before due to other events being held that day. Also, Marina Village was unable to reserve a prep room for my bridesmaids and I until two weeks before the event, which gave me a panic attack just to think about! Luckily, Paradise Point was very accommodating in those respects, so we were able to hold our rehearsal/dinner there and reserve a bridal suite there as well.

They where great! Where else can you bring your own vendors/alcohol, for the price and view you have at Marina Village??! We had an amazing time, and the pictures turned out great, with out us having to go to another location.

Marina Village was a wonderful place to have the wedding reception. The tables were not as exactly diagramed in the contract but we were able to make it work. the location is perfect and the staff is always willing to help. It was great to be able to come in early in the morning to start setting up the room and stay all night to party and have time to clean up without being rushed.

We had a gorgeous wedding at the Seaside Room. The wedding was on the patio underneath the canopies right before sunset so the pictures were gorgeous! Ranch Catering was the vendor for this choice and I think they did a fabulous job! The staff were very helpful, attentive and did a wonderful job with the set up/clean up. The reception was steps away, which was a huge bonus for the many out-of-towners that don't know the SD area; no driving! The reception had beautiful tables with panoramic views of the marina. My only complaint in the end was the ventillation. It got very warm and all we could do was open doors to cool off. That's the price of a good time dancing. :-)

Iwas very happy with the ceremony site. They set it up and had it ready for us to decorate when we got there are 9am. The location was beautiful and serene and I loved it. I felt like a princess walking down the aisle looking over the water.

The ceremony was beautiful on the South Lawn...we were lucky to have perfect weather! However, we had the Bayview Room and it started getting hot as the sun was going down. Other than that, we had a great time and enjoyed the nice area.

The view of the Marina was beautiful and the size of room was perfect for the amount of people we had. The cost was also exactly what we needed it to be. Our pictures were to die for. The location is clean and very well maintained, I save a lot of money because they provided the tables and chairs, which was great.

My husband and I were on a super tight budget for our wedding. We found Marina Village in a bridal magazine and when we went to veiw the site, we were very pleased. It is a BEAUTIFUL location. They can cater to all budget types as well. We arranged our perfect outdoor ceremony site and a beautiful indoor reception site through them. Our reception was upstairs and the room had huge picture windows that face out onto the bay. It was gorgeous! All the people who work there were very nice, professional and efficient. They were wonderful in helping me plan things for the site. They calmed my nerves immediately. I would send EVERYONE I know to them to get married on the San Diego Bay at Marina Village!

They were great. I can't say anything negative about them. They have great ceremony and reception sites at resonable cost. You get to use your own vendors and bring your own alcohol. Contact them, I recommend them.

We got married in July and really wanted an outdoor ceremony near the coast (because of the summer heat). We found all of this at Marina Village. The South Lawn is beautiful (more trees than the North). We added on an aisle runner and extra chairs (100 included) for the ceremony site.

Our main criteria for reception venue were budget and casual atmosphere. Because it was a destination wedding for 90% of our guests, we also wanted the reception to be in the same location. Marina Village fit perfectly. The rental included the tables and chairs. The BEST part was the freedom to use any vendors we wanted. This really was allowed us to stay within our budget. The rental fees were average, but we saved sooooooooo much on using the caterer of our choice, and providing our own alcohol (no license needed if it’s open bar). It was also nice that they only rent the room once daily and open it to you from 9am to midnight. Rental only includes 5 hours of event time, but that doesn’t include set-up (you can start at 9am) or clean-up (you have until midnight). You can add extra hours to the event for more $. This venue is great if you’re on a budget and are willing to do legwork (or have a coordinator to do it); you have to bring in all your own vendors, and do your own clean-up. It’s not so good if you everything to be included in a single package.

They also recently expanded their offerings and now have napkins and linens of any fabric/color imaginable. The prices are VERY reasonable, and they set it up for you (along with the tables and chairs). At the end of the night, you just pile them all on a single table. I was even able to make adjustments to my rental order the week of the wedding.

We were married at Marina Village this past April and overall had a great experience. The venue is beautiful and such a great value for being right on the San Diego bay. We had our ceremony on the South Lawn and rented the Bayview room for our reception and received so many compliments on how beautiful the space was!

We were very happy with this venue. The ceremony was great and the location was perfect. We hired one of the maintenance guys on site to decorate the room because it is somewhat outdated. Totally worth it! The ability to bring in your own liquor was also a huge cost savings. We had our reception in the sunset room. The only downer was actually discovered the next day. We rented a get ready room for both my husband and I but were not initially given keys. We left briefly for pictures and someone went through my sister's wallet and stole gift cards. Luckily my sister had the gift cards registered and they were replaced. I do not believe anyone associated with the property would have done this but it is an open venue and there are people walking around from the area and marina so if you are getting ready in the room and leaving it unattended make sure you lock the door.

This space is PERFECT for our wedding venue. Not only do they have flexibility, their facilities are easily decorated to fit the style of any wedding. We're having our wedding in the Spinnacker room and wouldn't have originally even asked to see that room. The woman who showed us around suggested it for the them we're going for "seaside speakeasy" and it was a true MATCH! I'm looking forward to our wedding here and will update the review once we have the wedding in 2020.

My wedding was at the Marina Village Conference Center Baja room. It was the biggest room that they had and it has a patio and a large bar. I really think that this vendor helped me stay on budget since I was able to bring everything in myself and compare prices one everything to get the best deals. I wish they could have let us extend the time past midnight for our reception but everything was great. The only thing I would say is that you should be ready to provide EVERYTHING!! They only give you tables and chairs and you have to remove everything at the end of the night. It is overlooking the marina and has free parking. It is a little difficult to get to if you are not from San Diego so be sure to provide a map and directions. Overall I was very please.

The positives about the Seaside room at Marina Village are the panoramic view of the boats and the lovely grounds. We had a built in bar for our bartender, ample amount of chairs and tables for all of our guests and a large dance floor. We were hoping to distract our guests from the 70's white washed walls and with enough alcohol and the right color scheme, no one even noticed. Marina Village was a place where we could pick our own vendors and not be charged extra which was a problem that we were running into elsewhere. Lastly, we were able to get such gorgeous pictures.

This is a very beautiful,inexpensive location for a wedding.They where very flexible with our needs and they provided tables and chairs for all our guests.The view is definitely breathtaking.

Getting the place was kind of annoying. You have to send in bids for whichever room/lawn you wanted. Although I got my first choice for my lowest bid, I didn't like the uncertainty of having to fax in the bid form and wait for a reply. I'd rather just go there directly or call and reserve my spot on a first-come-first serve basis. The idea of bidding instead of having a set price made me feel like they were really only interested in making as much money as possible off of me, which was not the best first impression.
After I got the lawn I wanted for the ceremony, though, everything was great. The staff was very responsive to all my questions and requests. They were all very friendly and willing to help. My DJ went to the wrong site and I needed a sound system at the last minute, and although their office was closed, I was able to get one set up fairly quickly. The site was beautiful with all the yachts in the background. The room I rented to get ready in was really bare, but it was designed to be a small conference room, so I guess I couldn't expect much. At least it had some tables and mirrors. And unfortunately, the bathrooms are only a step above bathrooms at the beach.

They were so nice, and set up alot of the stuff for us. I couldnt have asked for nicer or more proffessional people.

I love that Marina Village allows you to bring your own catering and vendors and their rooms are so reasonably priced! Sometimes getting questions answered isn't as easy as you would like, but they do have lots of rooms and are constantly busy so I'm sure they do their best!

We used the Marine Room for our reception and the breakers kept going out as we were trying to cook our food. This was inconvenient and a problem. The staff was very friendly the room needed repairs and the tables were very old. But the site was amazing and was an absolute beautiful day.

Marina Village has many rooms to choose from, and many different options for having a wedding. For many of the rooms at Marina village you are able to bring in your own caterer. I really liked that we were able to be near the water with an excellent view of the marina and bay (we were in the Sunset room), but we could have the comfort of an indoor reception area.

We really wanted to get married somewhere on the water, but it was super expensive every place we looked. We liked that the Marine Room would let us find our own caterer (in the smaller rooms) and Host our own bar. The price was good, the people were friendly and generally responsive. Some of the rooms need a lot of sprucing up and decorating!! We got our deposit back quickly and were overall happy with this choice.

We had our ceremony on the South Lawn at Marina Village. Marina Village is a beautiful location, and has the perfect backdrop for a wedding! We also had our reception at Marina Village, which was in the Seaside Room. It is worth noting however that the Seaside room is leased and run by Ranch Events. If you book this room you will have to use Ranch Events for catering. For us this was perfect because we wanted to use them initially anyway. The grounds at Marina Village are beautiful. The only drawback to this location is that it is very popular for weddings, for good reason too! There were 2-3 additional weddings there the same day as ours. The prices are pretty reasonable. If you want to make a change to your room type or date however they are somewhat inflexible.

Marina Village is a sweet spot located bay front. It has tons of parking and has a nice, mellow relaxed feel. It is pretty easy to access the rooms to walk thru, Mehrnaz was super helpful answering questions and providing feedback. They are straight forward with what you get. You are basically renting the venue frame and tables/chairs are ibolides- you can fill it how you want- bring in all your own vendors, there are few restrictions. So it's nice if you want a lot of say in your day. I wasn't totally stoked at first but it really is a sweet spot and there isn't much else like it in San Diego that can hold a wide variety of numbers. Happy wedding!

Inexpensive, great location, informative and nice staff!

For the money Marina Village was an AMAZING value. Our wedding reception was beautiful. The only issues I had were with attempting to e-mail them. Out of about 5 e-mails I only ever got 1 reply. The rest of the time I had to call. The ladies were always really friendly when I went in, but sometimes they seemed a little unorganized/confused. They have an employee named Pedro Hernandez who does tulle decorations and I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone. He was amazing and made my reception BEAUTIFUL!

I enjoyed working with marina village. My only complaint was that the room was a little messy when we got there. We complained to the office and they recleaned the dance floor and did a few things for us. We had the spinnaker room and we were able to fit 9 tables and a 1/2 table for Jesse and I. I wish we would have known that earlier. Also, they say you can fit 10 to a round table, that would have been such a tight squeeze! Plan on 8 ish!

Venue is great and you have many options to choose from, water view, 2 stories, small or large group. They also allowed you to bring in outside catering depending on your room selection and provide tables and chairs. My only complaint is NO Air Conditioning.

This is a great venue for the price. The contact I worked with was not that easy to deal with - he wasn't responsive, often times forgot items we had discussed and several times I had to argue to get the original agreed-upon pricing or items. However, in the end, the day was perfect, the venue is lovely right on the water and the Seaside room was decorated perfectly - including a tent for the outdoor cocktail area that they left up for us. It was a bit more of a hassle than I'd like, and sometimes we were left feeling like we were being guilted by the point of contact b/c "we just got such a good deal" but it was worth it for the price/location combination.

We used the Spinnaker room for our small reception. It was a great room for the amount of people that we had (about 75-100). It got a little bit warm in there when the most people were there. The bar inside is nice if you have a bar service or if you just need a place to put the extra stuff you have there. The room was extremely reasonable for the price especially since our reception was on a friday and we received a discount for that. The staff was very accommodating with moving the tables where we wanted. The view is beautiful especially around sunset. We had our cake set at the back end of the dance floor and then the food in a buffet style on the small stage in the room.

Marina Village off W. Mission Bay Drive near Sea World was a beautiful spot for the wedding and reception. We used their smallest room, our group was only 50 people. I paid extra to have the white chairs which looked great with the black & white table cloths. My two complaints, first the arch at the ceremony site had to be decorated at the last second, second no water or sink in the room we used.
