gorgeous Manhattan venue

Monika and the team at the Manhattan Penthouse were great to work with! When we moved our reception from 2021 to 2022, they were accommodating and flexible.

The biggest appeal and benefit of the space for us was that it has everything: staff, food, alcohol, linens, etc. It made our lives and planning process so much easier.

The venue itself fit our black tie wedding beautifully, thanks to features like the stunning views of NYC, the beautiful old-school bar, and the baby grand piano. Its central location was a huge draw, too, as it was easy to access for locals and out-of-town guests alike. We were very impressed with the food and drinks, and they also let us bring in additional special wines/spirits, which we appreciated. We found them to be very reasonably priced compared to other venues in the city, and the quality of everything they provided was excellent.

40th Birthday Celebration

I cannot say enough about Sam and his amazing team! As an event planner, I work in so many venues and really appreciate great service and friendly knowledgeable professionals. From the initial conversation through the close of the event, we experienced first class hospitality and top notch service, not to mention delicious food and a memorable experience. You can really tell that the staff loves their job, but people as well. I would absolutely work with Sam and his team again! I'm looking forward to introducing my clients to their sister locations Sassy & Alger House which we had a privilege of touring during the planning process.

Best Value in NYC!

We really believe this is the best wedding venue in NYC. No question, it’s the best value for the location. We booked the venue almost a full 2 years in advance, and the whole planning process with them couldn’t have been smoother.

About two months before we attended a tasting where we got to try samples of some of the appetizers and entrees (we fell in love with the pumpkin ravioli, highly recommend!). It was great to have an evening in the space, try the food/wine, and see the amazing 360 views of sunset.

The entire staff here is amazing. Monika made sure the planning went smoothly, and took care of menu planning for our gluten free/vegan guests. The wait staff and bartenders during the event were attentive and kind. We got many compliments from our guests both on how good the food was and how excellent the service was. Thank you for everything!

Love this venue

I am so glad I booked this venue for my wedding! The value is simply amazing. Monika was an absolute saint. She was so communicative and accommodating, even after the wedding. Our guests raved about the food and drinks. Not one bad item on the menu for dinner or cocktail hour, we were told. Seriously, this venue is a great decision. Plus, the views are gorgeous, and guests had so much fun taking photos.

Amazing Service and Hidden Gem

Manhattan Penthouse is the absolute definition of hidden gem wedding venue in the middle of Manhattan. I am so so lucky that my now husband and I stumbled upon this amazing venue for our wedding. The food was amazing, our guests raved about the cocktail hour and the views were absolute perfection. I cannot say enough nice things about Monika. She was so accommodating in every single way and was always quick to respond to my questions. She truly made our experience seamless and made all of our additional request for the reception (like substituting in different alcohols) happen. She allowed us to drop off items a few days before our reception, which made the days leading up to the event much less stressful for us and allowed us to come back through out the day after our wedding to pick up anything that was leftover. We loved our experience at the Penthouse. Thank you again, Monika! You were the best!!

Classic and classy NYC wedding venue

Finding an affordable option in the city for an all in one venue was a challenge until we fell in love with the Manhattan Penthouse. The price was right and the in-house catering was a big plus for us. The food was delicious and there is a variety to choose from. The views of uptown and downtown Manhattan are unforgettable and the bar area is classic old New York. Monika was a pro to work with, made everything very easy and accommodated all of our requests. Highly recommend!

Wonderful venue

Manhattan Penthouse was an absolutely amazing venue for my wedding. From the moment I saw the lovely, light-filled space and met with the fantastic Monika, I knew this was the best place to hold both our ceremony and reception. (Plus, for an NYC wedding, the convenient location can't be beat). Throughout the wedding planning process, Monika couldn't have been more responsive and helpful. She made the whole process smooth and as stress-free as possible. The day of the wedding everything ran seamlessly, and our guests had a wonderful time. I loved how thoughtfully the space was set up, with a cocktail/bar area for cocktail hour, and a big ballroom for both the ceremony and the reception, as well as a lovely little "bridal suite" off to the side where I could get ready beforehand. I would certainly recommend this place to brides and grooms looking for an elegant and well-run wedding venue in NYC!

We just got married at the Manhattan Penthouse. Monika, Jeno and Glenn did an amazing job in making our wedding memorable. Beautiful Affordable Venue

I was looking for a place with a view for a winter wedding in NYC and Manhattan Penthouse certainly has it! A beautiful north and south view of the NYC skyline. Once we met with Jeno and Monika we knew we were in good hands. They were very easy to communicate with and you can just feel the professionalism and experience in every encounter.

We (and all our guests) were incredibly impressed with the service starting with the overall setup, decorations, They made sure to cater to our needs and offer wonderful guidance to make the flow of the event an amazing party. This venue is sure to blow your guests mind and will make planning a wedding a walk in the park. They handled everything from setup, food, drinks, decorations, and cleanup. They have everything you need and everything you didn't think you need.

Monika is your girl!

Manhattan Penthouse is absolutely amazing. All of our guests raved about the view and the food. The venue is very spacious, we had about 80 guests but there was room for a lot more. They customized our wedding exactly as we wanted and had no issue with anything we asked for! We worked very closely with Monika from the beginning until the very end. She was an absolute delight. She answered all of our questions very promptly and was very easy to work with. She worked hard to make sure our day went smoothly by coordinating everything up to the wedding and also being our day of coordinator throughout the wedding. She was extremely helpful and really made our day special. We thank her and the crew at Manhattan Penthouse for everything they do. Monika made sure we had 0 worries day of. We promise that you will love this venue! The view is amazing and the food was delicious. The bridal suite was very convenient and Monika really did make the process smooth and we want to give a special shout out to her. We highly recommend Manhattan Penthouse and Monika, you will not be disappointed!

Perfect place

Manhattan Penthouse was an absolutely amazing venue for our wedding. The food was great and received rave reviews from our guests. We absolutely love the layout of the space. The grand windows with the city views provided a magnificent backdrop to our ceremony and reception and was a hit with guests taking many photos. Monika and Jeno were both fantastic to work with and really cared about our event making sure it went off without a hitch. We had a few special requests and they catered to them without hesitation. You really can’t go wrong with Manhattan Penthouse for your event, highly recommended.

We loved Manhattan Penthouse! The space was just perfect for us and our guests (120). Monika was incredibly wonderful and responsive. The week of the wedding--I must have been emailing 2-5 times a day and she responded quickly and eased my worries. We had both the ceremony and reception there. Staff were very friendly. My husband and I had our own server who wrapped everything we didn't finish and made sure our glasses were refilled. The captain we had was Glen and he was super wonderful and friendly. Monika is on top of the ball and has a lot of experience. She exceeded our expectations!

Professional manager and staff. I have been working with them over 15 years for two events I coordinate each year (equivalent of two weddings each year). I would never do it anywhere else. They never disappoint!! Jeno Steiner and his staff provide top notch service. The space is transformed beautifully and looks magical. The service throughout my events is outstanding. Jeno and his staff did a great job on our wedding day to set up a magical space that was the ideal setting for our wedding. The space looked great and they all handled our day of stresses with composure. The food provided by the in-house caterer was also delicious and gave us plenty of options to choose from. Leading up to the big day, Jeno was great to coordinate with and was always super responsive to any of our questions.
On top of all the compliments on the team, you can't beat the view at this venue! Views of midtown and downtown surround the space and both our out of town and local guests definitely enjoyed the background to the evening.

The Penthouse staff were super accommodating, flexible, & extremely generous to my family. All of our guests loved the venue & view. The food was delicious (which you don't expect when you have a party for 175 people). Everything went like clockwork. I would highly recommend Manhattan Penthouse for any event.

We were looking for a great venue within our budget and came across Manhattan Penthouse, as soon as we went for our first tour, we fell in love with the space. The views of the city are incredible, windows from all sides give you amazing views of the skyline. In addition, working with Monika was amazing. She was always super helpful and responsive about any questions I asked her. My husband is a chef so we had a tasting before we even officially booked the venue and then had another tasting, in which they accommodated a special request for him. The chef was very open to any suggestions my husband had, and the food was great on our wedding day. Everything else was great too, Monika helped set up and decorate the day of the wedding and coordinated everything. They also have a bridal room which was perfect so my bridesmaids and I could all get ready right at the venue and not have to worry about traveling from hair and makeup. We had a pretty small wedding with less than 50 guests, they set up the space perfectly for our small wedding but they also accommodate much larger parties. I highly recommend Manhattan Penthouse and Monika!

Early last year my wife and I started the long process of wedding planning, and we started by looking for our venue. We were slightly unique in that we had to plan our NYC wedding from London, without the chance to meeting vendors in person or visiting venues. On our list of must-haves was a team that we could trust, a venue that fit in our budget, and a venue that would capture the beauty of our wedding. We came across Alger House / Manhattan Penthouse on nymag.com and when we read the reviews we knew that we had to give them a call. We originally spoke with Sam, who then got us in touch with Jeno to work out the detail, and from those initial calls we knew that this was the venue for us.

When we read the reviews, we thought that maybe the description of how helpful Jeno is might have been exaggerated. We can say that they are 100% accurate. Jeno has to be the most responsive, helpful, friendly catering manager / event coordinator / maitre'd in NYC. We were shocked to get replies from him to emails on weekends, evenings (in NY time) and usually within hours (if not minutes) from sending them. It cannot be overstated at how much at ease this made us due to the anxiety we had in planning this from overseas. Throughout the nearly nine months of planning he gave us the comfort that everything was going to work out -- and it did.

Manhattan Penthouse is absolutely amazing. We had family and friends visiting from six states and three countries and for some this was their first time in NYC. What an amazing view they had to welcome them. One side is a clear view of the Freedom Tower, and on the other, the Empire State Building.
The catering was absolutely one of the highlights. We received so many compliments on the quality of the food.

We could go on and on, but the most important thing to us is that we had the most perfect wedding, in the most perfect venue, in the most perfect city, and Manhattan Penthouse and the team were a big part of that. Thank you!

Whatever I write here will not capture the ultimate experience we had choosing this as our wedding venue. Hands down one of the most unique yet affordable venues in NYC. We fell in love with the views and the fact that it's gorgeous even in it's bare bones. We spent so much time visiting venues both in and out of state, and I couldn't tell you how many poor decor decisions are out there, and how inflexible some venues really are. Not the case at the Manhattan Penthouse, they are incredibly efficient, flexible and professional. The food is delicious, the staff is unlike any other and the experience was just a dream come true. We worked with Jeno who is by far the most impressive contact that we have ever worked with. We were married on Oct 1, 2016 and we still have friends and family talking about our special day. Everyone was so impressed by the night that it made every penny worthwhile. We would highly recommend choosing this venue for your rental needs, as it was made for hosting a very perfect night.

As others have noted, you really get great bang for your buck at Manhattan Penthouse. We planned our wedding, for 115 guests, in less than 6 months. Jeno was always honest, helpful, and quick in his responses. By the time the wedding day arrived, I was 100% confident that everything was set. I was right. I had so much fun and never once worried that anything was off or out of place. Thank you to Jeno and the wonderful team at MP for a perfect night.

You can tell that the staff of MP has a lot of experience. Literally nothing can ruffle this crowd. Even though I was physically ill from nerves on my wedding morning, and my sweet husband tried to put our lunch menus out as ceremony programs, Jeno kept a completely cool head the whole time and made sure everything was in its correct place by the time our ceremony started. He really saved our butts. I also have to say he was, hands down, the most responsive vendor I worked with during the planning process. He is lighting fast and has great attention to detail. I also want to say, the food here is amazing, and the space is truly beautiful. Our guests loved the views of the Manhattan skyline. Manhattan Penthouse gives you an elegant, drama-free experience at a great value. I highly recommend!

We had our wedding at the Alger House location, and Monika was our coordinator. She was very insightful, incredibly patient and accommodating, and did not hesitate to go out of her way to ensure our wedding was exactly what we had envisioned. Her experience in coordinating weddings is apparent from the get go and she wasn't shy to make suggestions and/or point out issues that may interrupt or make the flow of the wedding unnecessarily awkward. She also went out of her way to allow us to come in the day before (they were not booked that day) to set everything up. Because of her experience, our wedding was more than we could have hoped it could be. We would not hesitate to recommend the Alger House for a beautiful, intimate wedding and particularly Monika. We don't think our vision would have been possible without her.

We didn't have too long of a runway to our 100-guest wedding, so the Manhattan Penthouse was the perfect venue for us because there is so much already included (ceremony site, good food, open bar, day-of coordiantor, etc.). The communication leading up to the event, as well as the actual wedding day, with Jeno was easy and efficient. He and the rest of the Penthouse staff are very professional and friendly. Jeno coordinated with all the other vendors leading up to the event (flowers, ceremony music, band, dessert, photographers), which really helped my stress levels. The venue itself looked beautiful and you can't beat those views. If you're looking to host a wedding in NYC on a smaller budget, you really should go to the Manhattan Penthouse. Thanks so much to the entire team there for helping us make our wedding day incredible!

There are so many things that we could say about having our wedding at Manhattan Penthouse, but we’ll keep it short and just say that we could not have been more grateful for this venue and to its staff. We had a wonderful experience, from beginning to end, and Jeno (although he might seem somewhat short at times) was terrific to work with - efficient, responsive, and incredibly helpful. We loved working with him. The food was very good and the venue was stunning. Very affordable as well given relative prices in New York. We chose this venue in part because we wanted to get married near our homes, but it ended out being the right choice for countless reasons. Thanks so much to Jeno and his entire team!

Manhattan Penthouse was the ultimate wedding venue location. Not only does it come with EVERYTHING (bartender, alcohol, catering, servers, linens and a coordinator) but it's beautiful and the location is amazing. Monica was so helpful and professional- we had a day of coordinator and when she showed up to the venue everything was set up already! the venue is large but feels intimate, the views are unreal and the food was delicious. Some of the details I was most impressed with:
1. knowledge of religious needs (challah, kosher meals and wine, etc)
2. guidance on scheduling
3. response time
4. vendor recommendations
5. When we walked back down the aisle, Monica was waiting in the back with our specialty cocktails and there was champagne and appetizers for us in the bridal suite.

If you want to eliminate all of the stress from wedding planning, I HIGHLY recommend booking this venue.

I am so happy that I had my wedding at Manhattan Penthouse. I fell in love with the views from the first pictures that I saw, and the feelings continued even throughout my wedding night. Monika was amazing to work with. She was so responsive to emails and phone calls and made our planning process as smooth as it could be. I was planning my wedding from Texas, and saw my venue once prior to our reception. Monika was always willing to answer questions and help with last minute details even the week of the wedding. We loved our wedding reception at the Manhattan Penthouse. This was the perfect place for us to host our wedding party and I don't think we could have found a better place within our budget. The venue is beautiful and the skyline views can't be beat. The best part is our planning was easy, laid back, but our event still felt like a five stars party. All of our guest had a wonderful time and commented on how great the venue was. We worked with Monika; she was awesome. She made planning simple by listening, helping and paying attention to details. She took great care of us before and during the event. Prices were very fair, food and drinks tasty, the entire staff were very caring and acted professional. Monika and Jeno are pros. They look after every detail. They have excellent ideas and great taste, and look ahead to help make the event just what you hoped for. They give you fair warning of what you need to do and when, so you're making choices in a timely way to keep the process on track. The food is superb and beautifully presented. The staff is attentive and professional. They make sure to pay attention to the guests of honor. And the whole package is reasonably priced - no surprises.

They were fantastic. Monica was assigned as our coordinator and she met with us on multiple occasions to ensure that things were smooth. She had suggestions on when food should be served. Our wedding was at church and we got there 30 minutes earlier - there was no problem (or extra charge) to open the bar. They worked with Vendors of ours to coordinate things. The food was very good for a wedding - the appetizers during cocktail hour were FANTASTIC.

My husband and I could not have asked for a more perfect night on our wedding! Jeno & Manhattan Penthouse crews were absolutely wonderful to work with and they went way above and beyond to ensure that our wedding was pure decadence. From the food, the service and the view are excellent! We definetely highly recommend Manhattan Penthouse to anyone who is interested in having an absolutely magical wedding experience!

Jeno and everyone at the Alger House made our wedding day great! Jeno even figured out the impossible bustle on my dress when no one else could because the ties were not numbered when it was altered!

We are very happy that we chose to have our wedding at Alger House. The food and ambiance were great.The guests loved the venue, we loved the venue. The weeks leading up were a piece of cake- all questions posed to Jeno were answered quickly. If you're looking for a unique and beautiful wedding venue-Alger House it it!

We had our wedding on a recent Sunday at Alger House. We had the pleasure of working with Monika who was incredibly on top of everything. I had communicated so many minute details with her leading up to the wedding date, and she remembered everything. She was always quick to respond to my correspondences.
The space was everything I dreamed of for our wedding. It was charming on its own but with great possibilities to add personal touches. Because we wanted our event to be an intimate event, we had about 70 guests and it was perfect. We chose to hold a daytime affair which was perfect to show off the beautiful stained glass windows and skylight. Our florist decorated a few arrangements to make it perfect. The space upstairs is also amazing - with an indoor garden, skylight, and a beautiful antique bathroom where we did most of our fun photo shoot.
We received many compliments on the food. Everything was delicious and the portions were quite big. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive all through the day. They were on top of Bride and Groom's needs, always asking for what we needed. They provided a special plate of hors d'oeurves for us upstairs during our photo shoot, well aware that once we went down to join the party, we weren't going to be able to eat during the cocktail hour.
Because they only book one event a day, we had the flexibility of getting in to the space 3 hours earlier in the morning and packing up afterwards with no pressure.
Thank you, Alger House, for such a memorable wedding! We feel so lucky to have had our wedding there!

My daughter's wedding was magnificent! Monika, the maître d', was the absolute best. She was very helpful, professional and has this calm demeanor, which relieves any anxieties. The entire staff couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly.

Once guests stepped off the elevator, they were blown away by the spectacular view. At night it was magical! To the north the Empire State Building, the south the Freedom Tower.... what could be more impressive?

Only advice......DO NOT crowd the elevators.

I have never posted a review online, but I have been moved to do so to compliment The Manhattan Penthouse staff and especially Monika. If you are considering an event here I think you should know that the professionalism of the staff, the care, service, attention to details,delicious food and the beauty of the room met and exceeded our expectations. Monika was attentive in all ways during our planning of the wedding and, when asked, offered suggestions that we happily took and our event went off beautifully. Our guests are still raving about the venue weeks later. Thank you to the Manhattan Penthouse and staff for making our daughter's wedding such a pleasant and special evening!

The Manhattan Penthouse is a wonderful, reasonably priced venue for a wedding. We were treated professionally and with caring by the staff. The 180 guests all commented paprovingly of the location and the treatment they received that evening. We highly recommend this location to anyone looking to be married with the Empire State Building for a backdrop and excellent food.

Manhattan Penthouse was a glamorous setting with superb service. When looking for a venue for our wedding reception in New York, we were disappointed by how many places made everything from lighting to cutlery extras on top of their fee. Manhattan Penthouse owns its space and has been catering events for years, so they have tables, chairs, linens, etc. and included all those in the basic estimate. It saved time and headaches. They couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating--when we were getting stressed because we hadn't made final choices, they calmed us down (without chiding us that we were jumping the gun). But when it really was time to make decisions, they leaped into action and stayed on top of all of our requests. They suggested menus but were just as willing to make up new menus based on our personal preferences, thus making the evening a true reflection of our personalities. They recommended outside vendors for a few details they couldn't cover and their recommendations were solid. On the night of our wedding I lost my voice and they sent a waiter out to buy the particular type of tea I wanted, and all through the reception, someone was always there to make sure we had eaten or that our glasses were full. We felt like we owned the place and were working with staff that knew us all our lives. Most importantly, the guests loved the space with its killer views and many nooks and crannies where people could sit, chat, and enjoy themselves.

We had our wedding at the Alger House 3 weeks ago and were delighted with the whole experience. Jeno, our catering manager, is hands down the most responsive vendor we encountered with throughout our year-long planning process. Jeno's advice was always helpful and to-the-point, and on the day of the wedding he helped make sure everything ran smoothly-- from the processional, to the flipping of the space, to the champagne toast and beyond.

The space and quality of the food are a great value for the money, maybe even the best in the city for couples who are looking for more of an an all-inclusive venue for an intimate event. We received so many compliments from our guests on how lovely the venue was, and we also heard rave reviews about the hors d'oeuvres and food stations we chose! (We never doubted that the food would be great, though-- prior to the wedding we attended a complimentary tasting at the Manhattan Penthouse and were blown away by everything we tried.) It is still hard to believe that we were able to have such an elegant event on our decidedly not-huge budget. Thank you to Jeno and everyone at the Alger House for helping to make our wedding a truly unforgettable evening!

Manhattan Penthouse is beautiful venue with fantastic views of the Empire State Building and the Freedom Tower. The staff is experienced and professional and they worked well with all of our vendors. The food was great, we received many compliments on the menu that was served. Monika, the event coordinator and maitre d', was wonderful and was instrumental in making the day go smoothly. Jeno Steiner the Catering Executive at the Alger House provided excellent assistance as our contact and planner for my daughter's wedding reception. The setting was beautiful and elegant, the food delicious and the menu varied so that it accommodated guests with gluten free and/or vegetarian requests. The event went smoothly and the bride and groom and both families and guests were delighted with how the entire evening unfolded. Alger House was a dream venue for our October wedding reception --- lovely, classic, warmly intimate, tastefully decorated and the perfect size. The in-house catering did a wonderful job with great service and delicious food that many guests are still complimenting three months later.

The ultimate high point of our Alger House experience though was working with Monika and Jeno. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Monika is just an outright amazing human being! I adored her. And Jeno is so great --- he should have his own television show! Both were complete professionals who were super responsive from point A to Z. They were also incredibly patient with ALL of my questions and offered a ton of helpful insights and valuable suggestions to help with the planning. Monika and Jeno know this industry like the back of their hands and it shows. We are so, so happy that they and the beautiful Alger House will always be a part of our happy wedding day memories.

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience working with Monika and having our wedding at Manhattan Penthouse. My husband and I really wanted to find a unique venue that was very "New York" for our 105 person wedding, and we both knew that we had found the perfect place when we showed up to see Manhattan Penthouse.

Our wedding was this past Sunday, and the venue exceeded all of our expectations. Having our ceremony set right in front of the Empire State Building was truly a special experience, and there is really no comparison to the space when the sun sets and all you can see are city lights at every angle. Our guests raved about the food and service during cocktail hour and our menu during the reception, and everyone was raving about the space. I might be biased, but I think it was the best wedding I've been to!

My review could not be complete without a few more words about Monika - I was so impressed with her throughout the process. I don't know how she does it - I was probably her most annoying bride and was emailing her all the time, and she was always incredibly responsive. I don't think I ever had to wait longer than a few minutes for a response from her. She was incredibly patient and calming in helping us work out the details of the day - our menu, the schedule, and the little details we wanted to personalize the day. She doubles as catering director and wedding planner. On the day of - she helped set up our programs, table cards, assemble favors, corral our guests, coordinate our ceremony, and work with our DJ to ensure every detail of our day went off exactly as she wanted. She was there throughout the evening, pouring me champagne and making sure we were happy. You will not regret working with her or choosing MP as your venue!

We had our wedding at Alger House in August 2013, and cannot recommend the venue enough for a unique, elegant NYC wedding. The decor at Alger House is beautiful and one-of-a-kind, and has a real vintage look and feel. We loved that the venue was already decorated, so there was not much we had to worry about in terms of needing to bring in lots of flowers or other items. The food is delicious, with options for cocktail hour ranging from seared tuna and bacon-wrapped dates to sliders and french fries (which were a big surprise hit with our guests!).

We worked with Monika throughout the entire process; she was professional, responsive, flexible, and extremely helpful. Planning our wedding and the actual day-of went extremely smoothly thanks to all of Monika's efforts and the great team at Alger House. The ceremony and reception all took place in the same room, and the Alger House team was super efficient at flipping the space.

We had 90 guests who were all wow'ed by the venue, service, and decor. We could not have chosen a better location for our wedding and are so happy with how it turned out.

We had such a wonderful experience with our July 2013 wedding at Alger House. We worked with Jeno for the past year leading up to our wedding, and could not have been in better hands. Jeno was EXTREMELY responsive to all our questions and emails - I honestly never had to wait more than a couple of hours to receive a response from him. In addition, the space is intimate and beautiful, with so many gorgeous decorations and details - and the Garden Room is a perfect space to get ready and take wedding pictures. This is a perfect venue for a wedding of about 85 guests...there's a lovely, close knit feel to the room, yet enough room to move around, dance and have fun.

On the day of the wedding, everything went seamlessly, and my husband and I could just sit back and enjoy our ceremony and reception, again, thanks to Jeno's meticulous planning and attention to detail. So many of our guests raved about the service and the food, too - we truly could not have asked for a better venue for our ceremony and reception!

We had our wedding reception at Manhattan Penthouse and we can not say enough about it! Jeno worked with us throughout the whole planning process and stood by us throughout the whole night. He is amazing and I can not thank him enough for everything he did. He was so easy to reach and if I had any questions or concerns he was always there to help us along. The food was amazing and the views were spectacular! Manhattan Penthouse is a great venue especially if you have a wedding of about 140 people like we did. It fits more but it was so comfortable and spacious.

I had both heard and read nothing but stellar reviews of the MHP since I first started searching for a wedding venue over a year ago. I wanted a space that included catering and an open bar, a great view of NYC and could accommodate up to 200 guests. At first, I thought this was impossible to find in Manhattan at an affordable price, but the MPH is THE space if you want the most for your money. Their caterers have been in business for 50 years and were willing to work with us to create the blend of Latin American and Mediterranean dishes we wanted. Furthermore, one of the managers we worked with, Jeno, answered all of my emails immediately, and was reliable, flexible and made us feel special even though he deals with 100's of clients at a time. You will not regret celebrating an event here- your wedding or any of life's other major milestones.

The Manhattan Penthouse is a fantastic choice for a wedding venue! The space itself is quite beautiful with awesome views of the city. Jeno Steiner, the Catering Executive, was amazing to work with from day 1 - always responsive, helpful and attentive - and we knew every detail would be executed just right. The food was great (we received many compliments from our guests!) and the staff was very professional on point. We truly had an amazing experience with MP and our guests gave nothing but very positive feedback to us.

As for the scaffolding that went up around the building....we were quite upset at first as this happened days before our wedding. But Jeno and the owner were very sympathetic and worked with us to make sure our night was special and unforgettable. In the end the scaffolding did not make a bit of difference - everyone still loved the views, the space gets amazing light while the sun is up, and once it was dark you could not see the scaffolding anyway.

I would very highly recommend choosing MP as a wedding venue, or for any event, scaffolding or not. I would do it all over again without a second thought, and I hope to have the opportunity to enjoy an event in that space again soon. And again, you cannot go wrong working with Jeno Steiner - he is on top of every detail, always responsive, and a pleasure to work with!

I had the most amazing experience with Manhattan Penthouse. I worked with Jeno to plan my wedding and he was absolutely the best, most helpful, professional vendor I worked with throughout the whole planning process. He answered my many emails over the year quickly and always with a thorough, helpful response. He calmed me down when I got nervous about things and offered suggestions to make my day better than I could have imagined. I had 100% faith in Jeno to take care of everything, and he did not disappoint. I really feel like he went above and beyond to make everything run smoothly.

Service aside, the venue is so beautiful and was the perfect location for our Sunday brunch wedding. It was bright and airy and set the stage for a romantic afternoon. The price was an incredible value. I am so lucky to have had my wedding at Manhattan Penthouse!

I had a wonderful experience working with Jeno at the Manhattan Penthouse. We booked the venue only about four months before the wedding, so I thought everything would be very rushed, but Jeno was calm and assured us we'd be fine. I sent him dozens of emails with questions, and he answered all of them promptly. He dealt directly with the bakery, band, and florist to coordinate event-timing, which saved me a lot of stress the week before my wedding. He even let us request special beer/liquor to be stocked at the bar! Everything was very flexible, which was great since we were planning on short notice. We were able to come in for a tasing one evening to get an idea of the food we wanted, and had tons of great choices. After the wedding, everyone commented on how delicious the food was. The penthouse looked amazing the night of the wedding, and the staff was very professional. This is a beautiful venue, and I'm not sure I could have gotten through wedding planning without all of Jeno's help, who went way beyond the call of duty.

The Manhattan Penthouse is just....AMAZING! The actual venue and views are georgeous. And the Catering Manager Jeno Steiner and staff are the absolute best.

We got married yesterday and I'm taking a moment to write this review today. That's how wonderful they made our day. From beginning to end it was perfection. We ended having a miscommunication with our florist but Jeno and the staff were able to get the flowers in place and looked beautiful.

We had planned to have a small Tea Ceremony that actually expanded to fit the rest of the family and MP was able to accommodate it without a problem.

And the food (and fruit and cookies) were soo good! The staff is really sweet and would continue to come around to make sure we had something to eat or drink. Everyone was super attentive and our guests were super impressed!

Overall, if you're reading these reviews to figure out if you like this place~ read no further. It's absolutely wonderful!

Manhattan Penthouse was the first and only venue we visited. We wanted a cozy, intimate atmosphere but still have amazing views of the city. Manhattan Penthouse was PERFECT. The 360 degree views are absolutely phenomenal. The food was spectacular! I have heard nothing but rave reviews from everyone that was at the reception. Monika was excellent as responding to emails and answering all questions during the planning process. Angel - I think he was head waiter - was the only other person I met that night of the wedding (the whole night was very busy!) but he was wonderful!

It was so great knowing that the food was coming from Manhattan Penthouse - one less thing to do. Their menu is very extensive and a little overwhelming but everything on it is delicious. You know how people say you don't eat at your own wedding? After the tasting we had, I made sure to eat the food! It was too good to pass up! They don't provide a cake but they do have a lot of other really great desserts.

It was a perfect evening and we could not have picked a better location. Highly recommended!

The Manhattan Penthouse is a truly special wedding venue that is, in the world of weddings, actually excellent value. The views of the city, including the Empire State Building, are why we chose the space, and they wowed our guests. The cocktail space and ceremony/reception space separation works really well, the rooms themselves are very elegant, and the bridal suite is convenient (and made for some great photo ops). We, and our guests, could not stop raving about the food (especially the lamb). It was nothing like "wedding food" and was truly delicious. Above all, Jeno Steiner, who managed our wedding, is incredible. He never takes more than one minute to respond to email (I am not exaggerating), he dealt with and incorporated my one million emails and requests, and he made the entire evening run flawlessly. He was even thoughtful enough to bring a selection of hors d'oeuvres to the bridal suite for right after the ceremony, so that we could eat a little bit of everything (something I hadn't even thought of). I wouldn't say it's cheap, but for a Manhattan venue that allows for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing, with such elegance, it's comparatively excellent value. I couldn't recommend the Penthouse more, our wedding was everything we had ever dreamed of.

We loved our wedding - and our guests were so impressed with the space, the food (very, very good - the reviews here do not lie), the atmosphere and for those who were there helping set up, the professionalism of the staff, especially Jeno. We did also take a look at the Manhattan Penthouse, but felt that it was not 'us'... the Alger House had more charm and character to it, and could accommodate a wedding of our size (80-90 people).

Jeno is definitely a character - he is not the type to be a warm and fuzzy hand holder (that is what my friends were there for!), but he is hyper responsive, flexible, and knows what he is doing. My brother, who produces corp IT conferences came in to help set up the AV system (including a screen up front at the ceremony with a skyped in best man!) was blown away by him and the rest of the staff...

Would do it all again, and would not have changed a thing.

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception at Manhattan Penthouse. We worked with Monika from the first day we looked at the space. Monika is unbelievably professional and very accomodating. She always made time to meet with us or schedule a time for us to come in to look at the space throughout the planning process. She helped us with everything from menu choices to the day of schedule. The space itself was beautiful and offered the views of the City that we were looking for. The food was delicious and the staff was on point. People warned us that the bride and groom never eat at their own wedding, but every time my husband and I turned around Monika or someone else from the staff was taking care of us (putting plates of food in the bridal suite, bringing us plates for a quick bite during cocktail hour, making sure we had drinks, etc.) They were simply amazing. Monika even made sure our sundae bar had crumbled chewy chips ahoy per my husband's request. No detail was overlooked. Monika runs a tight ship but keeps a smile on her face the entire time. If you are looking for a venue in NYC, I strongly suggest you look at Manhattan Penthouse. Monika and everyone else there truly gave us our dream wedding.

We had a fantastic reception at the Manhattan Penthouse which, in our case, was only a couple (walking) blocks from where we celebrated the wedding at Grace Church. MP's bar room was the perfect size for our 115 guest and the 5-piece jazz band we hired from Juilliard (also flawless). The main room was more than spacious and attractively configured for the tables and dance floor. One of the key features of MP is their gorgeous, huge arched windows. Apart from floral arrangements on the tables, we had to add nothing in the way of decorations. The beauty is in the architecture of the rooms and the views - especially at night which is when it counts.

The other key selling point of the place is Monika Nemeth, who we worked with. She is awesome (calm, professional, accommodating, interested, hard working). We did not like the wine selection they offered, so we brought in our own bottles. We got a satisfactory credit, and the matter was a non-issue. The proof of it all was that we had a fun wedding, didn't need to sweat the reception, and our guests loved the experience. I am sure you would too.

We worked with Monika and she made our wedding dreams come true! We are so glad we chose Manhattan Penthouse for our wedding venue, the quality of food and service was fantastic. I don't know why anyone would choose any other venue in NYC for their wedding. We looked at a whole bunch of venues and the choice was very easy. And the venue absolutely surpassed our expectations.

First off, this venue has the most gorgeous views of NYC. Whether your guests are NYC natives, or visiting from out of town, the view is sure to WOW. The only view you don't get is due west, but that's actually perfect because you don't get the sunset in your eyes like at other venues (like at Water's Edge in Brooklyn. I've been to weddings there and I couldn't even see the ceremony because the sun was too bright).

The food was excellent. We got so many compliments about the appetizers (passed and stationary), and also about the main courses. And the service was also great. Everyone was so professional. At our table we had our own personal server who was there for our every need! It was awesome having a venue that did its own catering so we didn't have to worry about food or rentals or logistics. I only wish we had thought to ask for appetizers to be brought to us in the bride's room because we didn't get to taste any of them. But I'm sure if we had asked they would have brought some to us.

But - none of that even matters compared to the perfect and astonishing Jeno Steiner. He was the person who originally showed us the space; he worked with us through the contract signing process; he was very reasonable about questions we had on the per person charge and allowed a flexible contract depending on how many RSVPs we received; he was the absolute most responsive vendor I have ever worked with for anything - he would write back to emails almost faster than I could even hit send. One night we emailed him in the evening. He wrote back in less than 5 minutes "On a date - will get back to you in the morning." I mean - wow! Even on a date he made sure to write us back just to let us know he'd write us back soon. Needless to say we highly recommend this venue.

I got married at Manhattan Penthouse in August of 2012 and I had the best experience. The food was amazing, the views are just like in the magazine, even better. Monika, our contact person there made everything so easy for us. She was always available for every little question, she got back to us within minutes all the time. Her experience in planning events, calm manner and professionalism was very reassuring for us from the moment we met her.

We held our wedding reception at Manhattan Penthouse, and I honestly think this is the best decision we made about our wedding! Jeno Steiner made the entire planning process extremely easy and stress-free. Whenever we had a questions, he answered our emails within minutes of receiving them. He worked with all our vendors so that the entire night ran perfectly. The cocktail hour room and the reception room were set up exactly as we had discussed and it looked beautiful. Not to mention that the actual space of Manhattan Penthouse is beautiful! Our guests could not stop talking about the unbelievable views. During our reception we were able to enjoy the views in the daylight, through sunset, and then the lit up NYC skyline. It added such an elegant element to the night. The waitstaff was super friendly and attentive, and all the food was delicious. The h'orderves and all the dinner courses were top notch. And on top of all this, Manhattan Penthouse offers prices that can't be beat. I HIGHLY recommend Manhattan Penthouse. It is the perfect setting for a quintessential NYC wedding.

We had planned a terrace wedding but had to step back when an officiant asked about our Plan B in case of rain or extreme heat in July in New York. We called Jeno to book the Alger House, which could accommodate our number, but he suggested that we look at Manhattan Penthouse. It gave us better views than the terrace and clearly let our guests know that they were in New York.

Planning the event was easy – almost too easy. Jeno walked us through everything, making suggestions, taking our input, telling us where we were making things complicated and showing us how to maximize the benefit of our dollars to make the event memorable. We did not have to worry about any of the things that the terrace required. Knowing that we had wanted a terrace wedding, Jeno helped us create that indoors with informal seating and stations. The Manhattan Penthouse comes practically decorated with the golden tones of the woods, the large windows with great views, the trees and the lights. Our creative designer spent about five hundred dollars in materials and flowers to make the space truly memorable.

Since Jeno was going to be on vacation, he had to hand us off to Monika. It was a smooth transition. She treated us as if she had known us for a long time. Different issues came up before the wedding from time to time. We decided to live stream the ceremony for family members who could not travel. No problem. We wanted the piano moved during the evening. No problem. Some guests announced that they were vegans. No problem. First one solution and then another. The vegan alternatives in a fajita station were clearly marked. The staff identified the vegans to make sure that they were well served.

We were concerned that having only 80 people in the ballroom would look like a lot of empty space, especially since we were not dancing. They made the empty space disappear. Guests, some of them wedding food skeptics, kept coming up to us to praise the food and the fact that they did not have lines to wait in. Everything went smoothly. Our guests really liked the staff and the staff seemed to treat us as family.

I can't stop raving how great Jeno was. He has been in this business for a long time and it showed. He gave great suggestions on things that we didn't even think about. He knew what to do without us explaining things. And a biggie, he was VERY quick in responding to our emails when we had any questions. My guests were very pleased with the food, unfortunately we didn't get a chance to eat much of it. We even requested a special cocktail to be served and they made it perfectly! Thanks Jeno!

I just had a fantastic wedding at Manhattan Penthouse! Jeno was my contact there--he was so flexible to account for the details I wanted and was extremely helpful on the day of, so I didn't need to hire a wedding planner. He's also the most responsive wedding vendor I worked with, answering my questions almost immediately, even on weekends. The food and service was great--even my mom, who complains about everything, was pleased! It's a relatively good value for a NYC wedding, with its own catering, tables, dishes, etc.

Our guests are still talking about our venue and the incredible food and views that they experienced all night long. Manhattan Penthouse is a GEM if you are looking to host a real New York City wedding. Half of our guests lived in New York City and half of our guests were traveling there, many for the first time. Everyone experienced the beauty that the city had to offer, while dining on what most guests said was "the best wedding food" they've ever had!

Jeno is exactly the person you want to deal with leading up to your wedding, and an incredible planner the day of. His attention to detail kept me at ease throughout the whole process, and his ability to "run the night" smoothly made every moment enjoyable for the guests and for me (the bride). We were thrilled with the venue, the food, and Jeno's services and couldn't have imagined a more beautiful night!

I was married at the Alger House in January 2012 and it was wonderful. Jeno was our coordinator and he took care of all of our wants and needs - it was really lovely, from the space and the food to the little things they did to accomodate us and I came away with zero complaints. The Alger House is an intimate, unique setting (we had just over 100 guests and that was the max for the space) and the West Village location was fabulous. Loved it!!

From start to finish, MP went above and beyond our expectations. Monika always responded to my endless emails in record time and handled every detail without a hitch.

Since our wedding, we have received nothing but compliments on the food (get the lamb! Its amazing!) and the ambiance of the space. Most of our guests had never attended a NYC wedding and were impressed with the 360 views provided by the arched windows. We had nearly 190 guests and the space was a perfect fit – the dance floor was full and open flow between the cocktail room and the main room(and the window seats throughout) ensured that the space never felt cramped.

I really cannot say enough about the venue – they were accommodating and from the minute I booked, the space set the stage for the rest of the wedding details.

Everything was amazing. From our first contact until the end of our wedding, everything with the Manhattan Penthouse was perfect. Jeno (who runs the place) is incredibly responsive, never forgets anything, and takes care of every detail. The space is gorgeous and the food is excellent. We cannot say enough about our fantastic experience at Alger House, where we had our wedding celebration this December. The manager, Jeno Steiner, was incredibly responsive to all of our questions and consistently responded in a timely manner (often within minutes or hours). He struck a perfect balance between being laid back and detail oriented. The space itself is perfectly cozy and intimate, yet spacious and comfortably accommodated our 95 guests. To our delight the in-house catering was absolutely delicious and impressed all of our foodie friends. We brought in our own wines and desserts; Jeno and the catering staff served everything without a question and with remarkable style. The upstairs room, with working fireplace and antique bathroom, was a special treat. For the quality of our experience, the price tag was shockingly low. Sounds too good to be true, but Alger House exceeded our expectations. We could not have asked for anything more!

We had THE BEST time at our wedding at Manhattan Penthouse. Monika was our contact person there, and she performed her duties while simultaneously having a calming influence over my husband and I. We decided to have both our ceremony and our reception in the space. Imagine the Empire State Building as your ceremony backdrop! Many of our guests complimented the venue and said it was "the best wedding" they'd ever attended. I highly recommend this space. The food, which is catered by the venue, was phenomenal! We had our wedding at Manhattan Penthouse in October 2011 and we could not have been happier. The space is beautiful - huge windows with views of Manhattan. The coordinator, Jeno Steiner, was fantastic. He was flexible about both showing us the space and allowing us to show our vendors the space. We delivered boxes of table numbers, guest books, favors etc the day before our wedding and Jeno and his team had set up everything perfectly with no instruction from us (we were thinking we'd have to do it ourselves before the wedding). Guests couldn't stop talking about how happy they were with the venue and the food.

Price for venue space in Manhattan was great.

We are very happy with our decision to have our wedding at Manhattan Penthouse.

Married at Alger House in September '11. It was a fantastic party, due in no small part to the skills and attention of the amazing and wonderful manager, Jeno Steiner. From the beginning, showing us the party space, through the planning process in the middle, to the event itself at the end (He even helped me bustle my dress! Don't worry, it was an outside button ☺), Jeno helped us plan the perfect wedding. We had 80 people and the size was just right. We had the ceremony there as well, then they flipped the tables for a seated dinner reception and dancing. The dancing space was perfect—we just hooked up an ipod system—and we even fit in a photobooth (go see my review for SweetBooths—awesome!). Jeno recommended Ariston for the flowers (go see my review for Ariston—they were great!)

In terms of meal specifics, I specifically heard rave reviews about the cocktails and the appetizers and the brownie things they served along with our wedding cakes. We brought in our own wine but hard liquor was included and everybody had as much as they wanted. Bottom line: we were going for a fun wedding with a personal feel that didn't involve schlepping guests from one venue to the next, and we got exactly what we wanted with Jeno and Alger House.

I cannot say enough positive things about The Manhattan Penthouse, and both Monika and Jeno, whom we had the pleasure of working with on our wedding three weeks ago. From the get-go they were warm, accommodating, and unbelievably responsive -- I swear they answered emails before I even sent them sometimes! I was no easy customer -- and no question or concern seemed to phase or frustrate them. They allowed me to transform the space into an Art Deco inspired, 1930s black-tie affair. The value is fantastic, the space is gorgeous, and their flexibility is unparalleled. I was able to pop into the space to take measurements, rearrange tables...or just sit and envision the room (no joke), as often as I pleased! We even had a change of venue director, when Monika had to move her vacation to our wedding week. The transition to Jeno was seamless, as they are in constant communication. I should also mention (this is kinda important), that the food is FANTASTIC. I'm a foodie, and own a company in which I work with chefs, so I'm a tough critic! The guests RAVED about the food both during cocktail hour and the reception. Don't pass up an opportunity to hold your wedding or even at MPH. You'll be so pleased that this one aspect of your planning you won't have to worry about!

Manhattan Penthouse is where we had our wedding. From the moment I met with our contact, Monika, till the day of our wedding, she was there for every little question or concern I had. She was very easy to contact by email, and she responded within minutes. On the day of the wedding, everything went so smoothly and I didn't have to worry about a thing. Monika was very organized and the walk down the aisle, as well as the rest of the night was perfect. I've been in other weddings, and have heard horror stories, but Manhattan Penthouse was a dream. The venue itself is beautiful, with wall to wall views of NYC. For someone who loves this city, Manhattan Penthouse is the perfect venue to highlight everything good about NYC. Green Mansions Catering is the in-house caterer for this venue, and the food was delicious. The price was reasonable too, by NYC standards, but our guests thought we paid a lot more than we did. I highly recommend this venue for a wedding, it's beautiful, classy, and you will save yourself a lot of stress!

Jeno Steiner made our wedding perfect! He was always quick to respond, provided us with a list of vendors (transportation, etc) that proved to be very high quality, and basically organized everything so efficiently that not one thing went slightly wrong the day we were married. The views from the penthouse are beautiful, and most of all the food was all servied timely, hot, and everyone loved it. We couldn't believe the price when we first started looking for a wedding venue, it seemed too good to be true! We had our wedding at the Manhattan Penthouse on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. We only had six weeks to plan it and it would not have been possible without Jeno Steiner. He was simply amazing. Jeno knows his stuff and is a very patient guide. We had many guests from out of town and the Penthouse views and food were amazing. Highly recommend Jeno and the Manhattan Penthouse.

Truly, I cannot say enough about Manhattan Penthouse. I first went to a holiday party there shortly after it opened (which was probably 10 years before my wedding) and from that day on, I KNEW that was where I wanted to get married.

Within minutes of meeting Jeno Steiner (all those many years later) I knew my wedding was going to be an amazing night. And he did not disappoint. He was so easy to work with, very responsive to all my questions and needs and totally accommodating.

The view, the food, the staff . . . and especially Jeno, made it truly an unbelievably special night.

And to this day, Jeno has become an extremely close friend and I would recommend both him and Manhattan Penthouse to anyone wanting a truly special experience for their wedding.

Our wedding was fantastic. I cannot say enough great things about the Penthouse. Jeno Steiner was always quick to answer any questions, and he was so easy and fun to work with. The big beautiful windows are impressive, especially at night. I was looking for a raw space with a manhattan feel, and that is what I got from this venue. I was nervous about the capacity at first, but we pulled off a great party with 200 people. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Very happy : )

We just had the most perfect wedding reception at Alger House. Located on a charming street in the West Village,this beautiful carriage house enchanted us all. From the superb food, premium bar, extraordinary maitre'd and attentive servers,everything exceeded our expectations. It is a rare gem. Our family and friends will remember this occasion for many years to come. Everyone is still raving.

I just had my wedding for about 170 people at Manhattan Penthouse and it was fantastic! The guests were in awe of the views. The room while empty doesn't look like much transforms into a magnificent ballroom for an affair. The dance floor is a great size. The food is superb but what really makes this place special is the catering executive - Jeno Steiner. He is simply outstanding - his patience, responsiveness and knowledge are unparalleled. He can put anyone at ease and it's not just words - my wedding was seamless. Everything happened the way it should. It truly is a spectacular place to get married!

My venue and caterer were the stars of my wedding. The food was outstanding, the venue was beautiful, and the staff were true professionals. They not only did their jobs, but when there was a problem with the florist at the last minute, they stepped in and helped facilitate a solution. I couldn't be happier with how they performed.

The Manhattan Penthouse was a perfect setting for our wedding. The views are amazing, the food is delicious and the staff very attentive. Jeno Steiner is fantastic! He responds immediately, makes everything feel easy and has a great eye for detail without ever feeling pushy. He allowed us to just relax and enjoy the party knowing that no details were being missed.

I could never have dreamed of having a more perfect wedding! We wanted a venue where we could get married at the same place as the reception that had terrific views of the city. We found it with the Manhattan Penthouse. Jeno was so easy to work with. He has ran over 1000 weddings and it really showed. His professionalism and responsiveness made the day less hectic. The food was great. We got to choose about 7 apps and had a choice of Chilean Sea Bass or Filet Mignon for dinner. everyone said the food was god and no one left hungry. Also, it was conveniently located near Union Square. I would HIGHLY recommend this venue anyone who is looking for a quintessential NYC wedding.
