The best officiant
We absolutely loved working with Dr. Janine. We had many meetings with Dr. J, and every time we met with her we felt more and more comfortable having her be such an intimate part of our wedding day. Before we found Dr. J, I had many concerns and logistical fears about the officiant, I had meetings with other people who actually made me cry on our initial phone call, not everyone is as loving and warm as Dr. J.
I got so many compliments on how beautiful our ceremony was, and it’s all credits to Dr Janine. It’s such an amazing feeling to know that we genuinely got close to Janine and call her a true friend after our wedding. -

Amazing Officiant
Dr. Burns was highly recommended to us. She has married 3 couples that are friends of ours. She was very sweet and easy going during our Zoom planning meetings. She gave us tips and really put our mind at ease. She has a system for organizing the many different parts of the ceremony, and it made planning very easy and stress free. She was lovely to work with, and we really appreciate her a lot for being a big part of our special day! -

A unique wedding experience
Janine was extremely helpful in helping us create our wedding ceremony. This was a second marriage for both of us and we were both coming in with 2 adult children each who we wanted to include. We also were of different faiths. Together we created a beautiful unique ceremony that incorporated everything we wanted. We met a few times and constantly communicated through email.
Our family and friends all commented on how nice our ceremony was. I would totally recommend her services!!!!! -

Dr. Janine H. Burns, Interfaith Chaplain did such a fantastic job performing the ceremony for our wedding. My bride did a lot of our wedding planning. It was my job to find the officiant. I had brief phone conversations with a few local people, but I ended up choosing Dr. Burns because she told me how she could help me de-stress. I got through the ceremony and standing up in front of all those people and even making a toast at the reception without sweating it. Janine is great. After the ceremony everyone came up to me and said how they really liked the ceremony and especially the part with the roses. I definitely recommend Dr. Burns. -

Dr. Burns was excellent. Her Wedding Tips were helpful and I especially liked the ones about Active Breathing Techniques. She wrote out my processional and even made a diagram for where the wedding party stands. It was very helpful. I got many compliments on the ceremony and many saying Dr. Burns’ voice was beautiful and soothing. I highly recommend her. -

I am in the wedding industry and saw Dr. Burns perform a wedding ceremony. Afterwards, I asked for a card, but it was easy to remember her website name – I love to do weddings - because it obviously was true. For me the ceremony was the most important part of the day. We included a wine box ceremony and the guests loved it. She pays attention to every detail. She was amazing. -

Such a great experience!
My husband and I used reverend Janine to marry us back in May and we were so happy we chose her. She was super helpful and informative and always answered quickly. Janine was the officiant at my best friends sisters wedding in 2012 & their ceremony was so beautiful it had me in tears & it was something I never forgot. So when it was my turn to get married I had to have her officiate ours & she did! From beginning to end Janine provided amazing customer service, was very responsive, sweet & kept in touch with me throughout the entire year & a half of planning. She was my favorite “vendor” throughout my wedding planning process & I just can’t brag enough about her. She knows what she’s doing & how to deliver your love story. Thorough, heartfelt and extremely memorable!
I’m someone who doesn’t typically take the time to write reviews, but Dr. Burns was so fantastic and intrinsic to the success of my wedding - I couldn’t not write. Now, when I say success, this covers the full gamut, extending from both the functional to emotional. Functionally, she was easily able to pivot and help us navigate through this crazy pandemic as our plans had to change. (My husband and I turned our rehearsal dinner into an elopement wedding and postponed the larger event til next year) She offered us advice, great tips and life lessons along the way. We had planning meetings where Dr. Burns helped us get organized, talked us through a number of things my husband and I hadn’t even considered - transformed our panic into confidence, and ensured that the day would still be every bit as special - if not more so - despite the forced change of plans. Her overwhelming experience came through clearly as she kept things streamlined, efficient, & even went above and beyond with recommendations and check lists. I might consider her as both officiant & part-time planner! Lol. (We didn’t have a wedding planner- so all of her advice was greatly welcomed and appreciated) Emotionally, she was 100% invested, with a ton of enthusiasm. My husband and I are from different faiths, and Dr. Burns had every angle covered depending on how we wanted to approach using or not using any religious messaging. I highly recommend her for couples of any faith or denomination, religious or non-religious ceremonies, for this reason alone. She helped us create a unique and special ceremony that truly captured our personalities and relationship. Our parents and families felt connected and were laughing and crying along with us. And Dr. Burns didn’t just stop at the ceremony...she continued to help me feel beautiful by fixing my dress for some pictures post ceremony to make sure we captured those perfect moments! Everyone should be so lucky to experience her support, kindness and warmth. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to meet and get to know Dr. Burns. She will always hold a special place in our hearts - she gave us such an amazing gift on and before our big day, setting the stage for an amazing memory, all the while feeling like an extension of our family. And, oddly enough, we can’t wait to do it all over again next year - celebrating our one year anniversary (based on our original wedding plans) with Dr. Burns once again leading the way to another great memory. -

Passionate & professional. Made our wedding day perfect!
My wife and I have been fortunate enough to have had Dr. Burns officiate other important events for my family throughout the years, making her the first person we called when we booked our wedding date. She is incredibly passionate and professional about making sure every detail is accounted for. Her process in managing all the moving parts that a wedding ceremony consists of, as well as her flexibility in helping us navigate changes in plans because of the pandemic, made for a stress free wedding day (aside from the typical jitters). Our guests have said Dr. Burns’ ceremony was one of the best they had witnessed, and in our household we fondly speak about Dr. Burns as if she’s part of our family. Would highly, highly recommend to people of all faiths and denominations. -

Dr. Burns was absolutely amazing and an essential asset to our wedding day. When our wedding plans got changed due to COVID restrictions, Dr. Burns not only was flexible with our changes but was on top of our last minute changes and helped ensure our wedding ceremony would flow perfectly despite a lack of certainty due to last minute changes that caused me such concerns! Dr. Burns was also so personable from the moment we met with her & even went out of her way to speak with each one of our family members at our wedding ceremony. Absolutely would recommend! -

Dr. Janine was such a help to my husband and I with relatively short notice of our ceremony. She offered so many different ceremony options from different passages to be read to a sand ceremony to include our son in the wedding to make everything feel special and personalized. Everyone loved it. We highly recommend her for your ceremony! -

So happy we had Dr. Burns!
Dr. Janine Burns was amazing. She helped us every single step of the way while planning our wedding ceremony. My husband was raised catholic and my family is a mix of catholic and jewish so we were unsure of how exactly to honor both sides without being overtly religious. Dr. Burns gave us amazing ideas and helped us plan a ceremony which honored our family and heritage but was ultimately about us. It is so important to have good people around you on your wedding day, and Dr. Burns made us feel calm and always reminded us that the day was about us two. We loved her tips along the way and all of the advice she gave. A little bit before our wedding she told us to make sure to never be more than 6 feet apart at your wedding reception. It was an amazing reminder to stay together and not let guests, friends or family get between you on your wedding day. We really credit Janine with helping us fully enjoy every moment of our wedding day. I highly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding!!! -

We hired Janine as our officiant for our 3/23/19 wedding and are so happy we did! She was incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the planning process and we really appreciated all of the Wedding Tips she sent. She was well-spoken, genuine and flexible and really made us feel comfortable in the meeting leading up to the wedding (and of course the day of). And best of all, we had our marriage certificate waiting for us in our mailbox when we got back from our honeymoon. Thank you Janine for being such an important part of our special day! -

Dr. Burns is amazing. She spent so much time with us as a couple and it made us feel so calm and ready for our big day. It's so easy to have the focus shift to the party and away from the actual *point* of it all (marrying your best friend!). She had a wonderful list of ceremonies to choose from so you can tailor your ceremony to who you are as a couple and not just have someone spew some generic sayings about love. We chose to have a wine box ceremony, where we seal a box with love letters and a bottle of wine to open and read on our anniversary. Dr. Burns even mailed us wedding tips to help us de-stress and enjoy the process, which were truly helpful and incredibly thoughtful. Overall, she is so knowledgeable and willing to accommodate any and all needs. -

My wife and I were very pleased with the work that Dr. Janine Burns did for our wedding in July, 2017. As soon as we hired her to be our officiant for our interfaith ceremony, she was pro-active. For example, Janine regularly sent us interesting wedding tips for us to read at our leisure. She made herself available whenever we needed to meet with her. She helped guide us in creating the perfect wedding ceremony that matched our desires and needs. She carefully edited our work and readily welcomed our feedback. She did all of this with a positive and cheerful attitude. Dr. Burns was extremely helpful with organizing our rehearsal at the venue the day before and was a calming influence on the big day. Janine is very professional and welcoming and has our highest recommendation as a wedding officiant. -

We had our wedding on site at Chateau la Mer on June 18th,2016, and let me just tell you, Dr. Janine Burns is the best!!!! I went to a wedding years ago that Janine officiated and that ceremony stayed with me all this time so it was a no-brainer to meet with her when we got engaged. I already knew I wanted her to officiate but wanted the input of my now husband. Before we even got to the car, he said he was on board with hiring her. We hired her about a year ahead of our wedding and she was in contact with us every few weeks, providing helpful tips on how to deal with various aspects of the planning process and remembering why we were getting married. We are THRILLED to have had Janine officiate and be a part of our day. She was professional but also like a long term friend of ours. She seemed to enjoy the ceremony and cocktail hour every bit as much as we did! -

We were initially going to have a close friend officiate our wedding, but we're so glad that we chose to go with Janine instead. She provided great insight into every aspect of our big day. She's done this so many times that she has a great handle on what to expect and where the potential pitfalls are and expertly guided us through it all. We also appreciated how personal and specific she was able to make the ceremony. Janine has a great personality and a very open heart. She's warm and loving and fun to work with. -

My husband and I couldn't have been happier with how our ceremony turned out. Up until I had found Dr. Janine Burns, the thought of the ceremony freaked me out so much that I wanted to elope. Reverend Janine was wonderful. She is articulate, sincere and professional. We met with her several times before our special day. We went through the entire ceremony ( readings, phrasing etc.) step by step so that it was PERFECT for what we wanted. She was in continuous contact with us and returned our phone calls and emails promptly. Reverend Janine always had a smile and made us feel at ease . Many of the guests complimented, not only us, but Reverend Janine on how they enjoyed the ceremony. -

I could not have asked for a better officiant for my wedding. My wife and I are an interfaith, same-sex couple who wed 18 years after the day we met. We wanted to be married for so long, but until recently, marriage was not a legal option for us. Dr. Janine helped us craft the perfect ceremony for our big day – one that was unique, traditional, touching, and funny, all at the same time. She was completely receptive to our ideas (such as the brides bestowing the welcome speech), and also suggested others (such as the wine box ceremony) that made our day all the more special. She is incredibly professional and CALM. She didn’t even flinch at my extreme wedding day anxiety. I highly, highly recommend her.

I was impressed from our first meeting. She provided us with choices for every aspect of our ceremony allowing it to be extremely unique. Our ceremony matched our not only our own individual personalities but our personality as a couple. And her feedback regarding our vows was very helpful.
