The most stunning wedding florals
When I first chatted with Ellen, I had only a vague color scheme in mind (citrusy florals and succulents) and mentioned how much I liked the bouquets and centerpieces she created for the weddings of two of my friends a few years ago. Beyond that, I left the details up to Ellen and her team and knew I’d be happy without whatever they came up with.
But wow, Local Color Flowers truly knocked it out of the park. My jaw dropped when she walked into my hotel room the morning of my wedding with absolutely stunning bouquets, wrist corsages and boutonnières for the wedding party. The variety of flowers she packed into each bouquet and arrangement was astounding, and the colors were even better than I imagined. She took the time to point out some of the flowers in each arrangement and even included a special (and enormous!) pastelegance peony in the center of my bridal bouquet. And if the bouquets weren’t amazing enough, she also blew us away with a fabulous ceremony arch display, cocktail table bud vases and a mix of floral and centerpieces and succulent and herb planters at the dinner tables.
Ellen and LoCoFlo, thank you for creating such beautiful floral arrangements for our wedding and for helping make our day so special! You can bet we’ll be sending tons of friends getting married in the future your way!

Beautiful Wedding Flowers
We loved working with Local Color Flowers for our wedding florals. The entire process was smooth and easy for us. Ellen spent time getting to know us, gathering information on color pallets and the overall design of our wedding to help in the planning. We were drawn to the idea of supporting local flower farms as well as leaving the specific flower designing up to the experts so that part of our special day was a surprise to us! We worked with Ellen at Local Color Flowers for our COVID micro-wedding, and I can't recommend her enough! She worked with us to build us a custom package of flowers that we picked up from her and assembled ourselves on location. When we picked them up I was so thrilled- they were even more stunning than I imagined! I got multiple compliments on the flowers from guests who livestreamed our wedding, so even through a computer screen the flowers stood out. In addition, I was so happy to be supporting a small, local business that buys environmentally sustainable flowers from local farms. Uniquely beautiful and sustainable
When my husband and I were planning our wedding, we wanted to find a sustainable florist and we were so grateful to stumble upon Ellen and her amazing team at Local Color Flowers, where they source all of their flowers locally throughout the year. Our wedding was in November, so we didn't know how much variety we had to choose from, but were blown away at all the flowers and greenery that would be available around that time. While some brides may not like not knowing exactly what their bouquet is going to look like, I couldn't have bee more ecstatic with the idea! In my mind it was one less thing to think about; plus, I felt like it was Christmas morning waiting to see the flowers. I knew I could trust Ellen and her team to execute a beautiful bouquet with my color scheme, while coordinating with my hair comb, the boutonnieres, and the bridal party bouquets. I loved how she incorporated non-typical greenery, such as rosemary, ferns, mint, and cabbage. My husband still says rosemary reminds him of our wedding day! We are so grateful to have worked with such an incredible floral team and to support a local business with a great mission. I would absolutely recommend Local Color Flowers to anyone looking for a florist that is easy to work with and who will put your mind at ease with their professionalism and amazing bouquets. Fantastic Experience!
We chose Local Color Flowers as the florist for our November 2019 wedding, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. We didn't know exactly what we wanted at first, but Ellen was completely unfazed by this and she did a great job helping us figure it out. Fantastic Fall Florals
Local Color Flowers did my wedding flowers and they were absolutely perfect. They were super affordable. We got bouquets, boutonnières, a flower crown, loose flowers for hair, loose flowers for cake, a corsage, and flowers for our alter. Carling and Ellen were both super kind and responsive. We met and did a consultation where I described colors and textures, and asked for the inclusion of eucalyptus if possible. Keep in mind the flowers are locally sourced and you may not be able to get specific flowers, which was not a priority for me. I loved the inclusion of wheat, dried flowers, and herbs in my flowers. Made our big day extra beautiful
Ellen and her team were amazing to work with! During our pre-wedding planning meeting, Ellen helped us through the vision of the day and thought about all the little details and flower displays we would need! She answered any and all questions I had leading up to the day with the help of Carling, the amazing wedding consultant. Both of them worked with us to make sure we got everything we needed for the wedding day. I loved absolutely everything about the flowers for our wedding. They did two gorgeous greenery displays on walls in our venue, beautiful bouquets, and beautiful table centerpieces. The chuppah for our ceremony was also so gorgeous. Ellen took our colors- sage and plum and got flowers from local farms. Ellen and her team brought my vision to life and all the beautiful details were perfect. I'm so glad I chose Locoflo for our wedding. I was not particular about which flowers we had. I just gave Ellen the palette and let the team work their magic. My one request was that the flowers were NOT fragrant (due to allergies) and they delivered! My flowers were absolutely gorgeous--better than I could have imagined--and they didn't smell at all :).

I study sustainability at my University and my now husband had told me about local color flowers before we even got engaged. I knew from the moment I heard about them that I had to use these guys for my wedding. And boy did they come through. When I was talking with Ellen on the phone I told her I wanted it to look like she walked into a field of wild flowers and picked whatever was there and she responded with “great because that is literally what I do.” When I saw the flowers on the day of my wedding I quite literally squealed and then wept because they were even better then I ever could have imagined. My husband and I tell everyone that really it was the flowers that made that whole day. One of the best decisions I made
I love flowers and long had a vision for my wedding that focused heavily on flowers. Unfortunately, most florists were out of our price range. Working with Ellen and her team was one of the best decisions I made as a bride. They were warm, professional, and really know their stuff. My wedding was 11/2/18! Ellen and her team at Local Color Flowers completely nailed my wedding flowers. The flowers brought so much color and character to my wedding. I love local flowers because other than a color palette, most of it is a huge surprise. It is SO exciting finally seeing the creations that Ellen and team Locoflo had put together. Gorgeous, in-season, local!
Getting real flowers for our wedding ceremony was a must-have for us. And if they were going to be real, they were going to be locally-sourced, in-season, and heart-warmingly beautiful. Local Color delivered everything I could hope for. If you are going to be picky about specific flowers you want, this isn't the route to go, but if you give LoCoFlo a color palette and a style they will give you exactly the flowers you didn't even know you wanted. We had an unusual ceremony set-up where we wanted our floral arrangement to be on the floor in a circle around us, instead of an arch and Ellen said she hadn't done that before, but she would figure it out. She delivered perfectly - and made it in such a way that the pieces of the display could be moved and re-purposed for the dinner reception. To some extent, requests may be able to be accomodated; I asked for herbs (specifically rosemary) in our bouquets which they were able to do, and when I learned that they might have local cotton this season, I asked if we could get that in the bouquets & boutonnieres and I'm so glad they could! I'm drying some of my flowers to keep and the cotton is already prefect. Ellen delivered on time, her team was easy to communicate with, and we loved the end result.

I'm obsessed with LoCoFlo!
My husband and I didn't want to go overboard with flowers - we really only wanted flowers for us, the attendants and our family, as well as a few small arrangements for the ceremony and main table decor. We decided to hire local color flowers because one of our main values is to support small, local businesses and we loved that Ellen sources all of her flowers within 100 miles of Baltimore (supporting more than 1 local business!). She was so easy to work with and provided great suggestions to us as we had very little 'vision' outside of the colors we chose. She has a stringent process that she follows with check-ins leading up to the wedding and I loved how her team was so on top of communicating with us and checking in throughout the wedding planning process. I also liked that we didn't have to pick out specifically what flowers we wanted - we just had to trust her and her team with what was available that week and they did an amazing job! We will definitely visit the studio sometime to pick up more flowers :) I highly recommend Ellen and her team!

Working with Local Color Flowers for our wedding was such a great decision! They were so communicative and straightforward, and always kept our vision in mind. Our wedding was at the Cylburn Arboretum, so we didn't want to clash or take away from the existing beauty of the venue. I also had a few things I was hopeful for in terms of flower type, greenery, and they totally came through!! The burgundy + blush dahlias and celosia were unforgettable. My hair piece totally sealed the bridal look I was going for. I absolutely loved the bracelets for the flower girls!! All of the bouquets were stunning. The loose flowers we put in bottles were perfect - not too overwhelming but still added some flair to our centerpieces. Everything felt so fresh and beautiful. Exactly what we wanted. I worked at a florist in high school and college, and really wanted something gorgeous for my wedding. Wow. I was thrilled with the amazing work that Local Color Flowers did. From my meeting with Ellen onward, they were professional and very accommodating, and the flowers were outstanding. We had a wedding of 175 guests, and ordered table arrangements, corsages, boutonnieres, bouquets, and extra arrangements for the gift table and cocktail hour tables. The guests gushed at how original and classy they were - definitely artistic, incorporating my choice of vibrant colors, and not the same old, cliche wedding flowers. One of my friends even said she wished she could get married again to use Local Color Flowers, and the other vendors had great things to say when they heard we were using them. The groom even took his boutonniere back in case we wanted to press it in a book! Most of all, I loved how the locally sourced concept took the pressure of making more detailed decisions off of my plate, and the result was such a beautiful surprise unlike any wedding I'd seen before. It exceeded my expectations and I want to use this florist again!

When I was thinking about flowers, I knew I wanted to minimize my environmental footprint and buy green and local. Lucky for me, Local Color Flowers, is a preferred florist of the venue I chose. They are local to Baltimore and source their flowers from family farms and gardens within an average of 50 miles of their workshop. This means none of the flowers are shipped in an airplane nor are they chemically preserved!
Ellen Frost, the founder, is absolutely wonderful to work with. She loves what she does and loves working with her clients, and both are evident in every meeting you have with her. She is all smiles and is passionate about flowers and helping you formulate / articulate your vision.
If you have something specific in mind, they have look-books by season and month so you can see what kind of flowers and foliage are available during the month of your wedding. These are also available on their Pinterest page.
I had a very loose idea of what I wanted because I didn’t have “wedding colors” and only had a matron of honor. What I did know is that I like wild foliage, interesting flowers, and unruly (non-uniform) arrangements – no fragile flowers please.
Well, Ellen and her team knocked it out of the park! All of the flowers were stunning! We had 2 large ceremony arrangements, 2 bouquets, 2 wrist corsages, a number of centerpieces varying in size and extra bits for the wedding cake.
I can’t say enough good things about Ellen and the Local Color flower team!

I had a wonderful experience working with Carling and the team at Local Color Flowers. We called a week before the wedding and Carling and team were friendly, responsive, helpful, and able to work within our tight deadline. They quoted us for a bridal bouquet, 3 bridesmaid bouquets and one boutonniere and even adjusted the quote to work within our budget as needed. For a reasonable charge, they promptly delivered the flowers to the site on the day of the wedding in beautiful glass vases filled with fresh water to keep the flowers looking their best.

The team at Local Color Flowers is AWESOME! I knew from the beginning I wanted to go local. I had heard about this company long before I was engaged, but had never worked with them before. Ellen and her team make the process so relaxing and fun! We had a nice consultation with Ellen a few months prior to the wedding. She looked at some photos, listened to our preferences, and walked us through some questions to help pull the ideas together. Ultimately, the way this company works, they can't guarantee the exact flowers because they go with whatever is local and in season from their farmers. I was completely okay with this and loved having the surprise the day of ! The bouquets were STUNNING, picking up the corals, and hints of orange to complement the dark teal bridesmaid dresses and our garden wedding! For the centerpieces, i wanted a potted plant - to cut down a little on price, but also so guests could take them home. LoCoFlo allows you to provide your own containers, another cost-saving option. Since they had another wedding the same day, they could not deliver - but we knew this going in. The pick up process was easy. We got so many compliments on the bouquets and especially the centerpieces - oregano, rosemary + some foliage and some coral flowers. So unique and fun! The wrist corsages are also nontraditional - more of a flower-cuff. So cool! And the boutonnieres were perfect - each was a little different, highlighting different flowers from the bouquets, and wrapped in twine. just perfect! thank you!

We had a huge wedding (230 people, incl. 17 in the wedding party, separate ceremony/reception), and they aced every decoration correctly and BEAUTIFULLY! When we returned to the church after our honeymoon, the first thing everyone said was "THOSE FLOWERS WERE AMAZING!" I know the "unpredictability" of the in-season flowers might be tough, but Ellen knows her stuff - she aced all the colors and style I wanted, and even got us sunflowers, which I said I loved! My husband and I do not live in Baltimore, but we decided to have our wedding there because many of our closest friends live in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. We learned about Ellen and Local Color Flowers from a good friend in Baltimore. Neither of us had worked with a florist before, but Ellen made us extremely comfortable during the consultation. She asked just the right questions to help us determine what we wanted for our wedding, and she thoughtfully explained her unique and sustainable philosophy. She was thoroughly professional, and she was prompt and organized throughout the entire process. Ellen delivered the arrangements on our wedding day, and their bold delphiniums and zinnias took my breath away. She even went the extra mile to add peacock feathers from a local peacock farmer to each of the centerpieces, and that helped enhance our wedding's theme. Our guests also loved the flowers, and we received multiple compliments about them throughout the evening. Ellen is a true professional and a true artist, and I can't recommend her highly enough.

We knew that Local Color would work with our style immediately... and after our consultation we determined a budget for our ideas that worked all around. The concept of creating with what was local and in-season coupled with aesthetic is what initially drew us to them. We were not disappointed in any way (other than the fact that I decided best not to take any of our bouquets home with me across the country on the plane the next day, totally not their problem though!!). They were highly flexible in terms of planning, communicating by phone, email, and through Pinterest boards to get our look down. They helped coordinate delivery for the event date as well as vase rentals to be returned the next day. My bridal bouquet was made of dreams, and we made sure family and friends took home the bouquets to enjoy. Local Color can certainly give you a great selection across varied budgets. We were lucky enough to hear about Local Color Flowers through a word-of-mouth recommendation, and as soon as we looked at their website we were SO grateful to the person who mentioned them! We worked with Local Color for our summer 2017 wedding and not only was it an absolute pleasure to work with Ellen and Carling because of their kindness and great energy, but it was a delight to see the flowers they created based off my (somewhat vague, not-very-informed-about-flowers) ideas. Somehow LoCo knew exactly what I wanted, and made it happen! (And what a cherry on top that their focus is local and sustainable.) Look no further for an amazing wedding florist.

My wedding flowers were so stunning I actually brought some of them on my honeymoon because I wanted to enjoy them for as long as I could! This company has it down - I knew that I wanted to go with a variety of different colors and types of flowers and they made the process so easy. I searched their instagram pics for ideas and they also have a very helpful Pinterest page. There is a consultation to get started and then a few check in's before the big day. All of the people I dealt with were extremely responsive and detailed. They really care about putting beautiful arrangements together and I feel like I got a lot of value for the cost. I was really pleased with the whole experience and highly recommend this company!

They took the vision I had and completed it better than I could have described myself. LCF allowed me to provide my own vases and gave me specific dimensions of what their floral designs would require. They were also reasonable and accommodating, working with the budget I provided. Our wedding day flowers were full of life, color & texture! Trusting LCF as a vendor and having in-season, local flowers at our wedding made for an incredibly beautiful and memorable event!

Our wedding day flowers were PERFECT - exactly how I imagined them. We wanted bright colors, kind of a "wild flower" look, nothing too neat but not totally crazy - and with that, the LCF team did a great job understanding what I wanted and executing on the day of. They worked with me to use a piece of my grandmother's wedding dress as a wrap for my bouquet - and in general did a great job with all of the bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, centerpieces, etc. Would definitely recommend them as a wedding florist.

I can't say enough good things about Local Color Flowers. We had our rehearsal dinner and wedding flowers done by them, and they were fantastic to work with throughout the entire process. I worked directly with Carling and the owner Ellen, and both of them made the entire process a joy. I knew I wanted a "garden" look with lots of greenery and white flowers but didn't know exactly what it would look like - Local Color Flowers really made my vision come to life. They even spray painted lanterns copper to complete the look. Everyone raved about the flowers (especially how good they smelled!). We also re-used our rehearsal dinner table arrangements for the wedding tent, and they held up extremely well.

Local Color Flowers is a beautiful and unique company that delivers in every area! The staff are extremely friendly and the owner is one of those people you feel like you have always known. My wife and I were stunned by how beautiful everything was. Our bouquets and centerpieces could not have been better. I'm so glad a business like this exists. My fiancé and I wanted to use as many local vendors as possible and loved the idea of using a local florist who was committed to working with local farmers. Many of my coworkers had used Local Color Flowers and highly recommended them. When we went for our meeting, I didn’t have a clear idea of the flowers, except to balance my love of natural/rustic flowers for a very formal setting. We had so much help and guidance! We were able to choose bouquet sizes (I went with the bridesmaid bouquet size and my girls help posies--they were all bigger than the the bouquets at other weddings I’ve attended) and were taken into the walk in to look at flowers. They created a custom bouquet for us and were able to make last minute additions. Each item has a flat fee so you aren’t paying extra for specific flowers. I loved that they use whatever is in season and just go with your colors and overall vibe. Everything Local Color Flowers gave us was gorgeous and I loved the surprise of finding what flowers were used and in season.

Local Color Flowers was amazing from beginning to end of my wedding planning process! Ellen and her team are wonderful to work with and they truly care about the business. I only had a color scheme and a love for peonies, and I let the team do the rest as far as designing the florals went – they did not disappoint! I arrived to the venue to find beautiful, fresh, locally grown flowers for the bridesmaids and I, and the centerpieces (which I had dropped off a few weeks prior to the wedding) were overflowing with gorgeous blooms! I was in love with the final product and I got endless compliments throughout the night on how beautiful all of our floral arrangements were. Look no further because this team is the best!

I was a little nervous about what would be blooming in October and whether those blooms would match my color palette and vision, but it felt great to support a local business and local growers while planning our wedding, so we took the risk. It was so worth it!! Working with Ellen and her team was such a pleasure and the bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, center pieces, wreaths, and garlands that they designed for our ceremony and reception were breathtaking! Even better than anything I could have imagined! Ellen totally got the look that I was going for - a picked-from-the-garden, romantic and not-too-manicured feel - and made it come to life. When I walked into our reception room and saw the centerpieces she designed and the gorgeous garland over the door behind our seats, it brought tears to my eyes. My family will be ordering arrangements from Ellen for years to come! She's the best!

When your florist tells you that you won't actually be able to see what your wedding flowers will look like until the day of your wedding, it's a little nerve wracking. You just have to remember that it's because the flowers are coming straight from the farm...which means they are going to be locally and lovingly grown, super fresh, with only the most beautiful ones being picked and used for your arrangements. The Local Color team is amazing. They took the basic ideas I had for my wedding (color, style, theme) and ran with it. My flowers were even more beautiful than I could have imagined!!

Working with Ellen at Local Color Flowers for our wedding in May was a dream come true. At our first meeting, we were able to tell Ellen a little bit about ourselves and what kind of 'vibe' we were hoping to achieve- she and her team took that vision and made it the most beautiful reality. After learning about Local Color Flowers before even being engaged, I knew that I wanted them to be a part of my wedding day. My experience with Ellen and the entire LoCoFlo team way surpassed 5 stars. I would recommend them (in a heartbeat) to anyone looking for wedding florals or just a single order! The fact that Ellen is a pioneer behind the local flower movement (and cares so passionately about her business and clients) really attracted me to her business. I was married on Nov 5 after the first frost of the year -- and as Ellen described it, the growers and farmers pulled off a Frostmas miracle and delivered with many flowers on my "wishlist" :) The flowers were absolutely perfect and the LoCoFlo team really made my vision come alive. Ellen was always patient and responded positively to my numerous questions and requests. I'm especially grateful that they took the time to learn how to execute a floral photo booth backdrop that I really wanted.
I am big supporter of local businesses and so, it felt great to support local growers within 100 miles of Baltimore. With all this being said, I am a huge fan of Local Color Flowers and will continue to support this awesome local business.

When receiving or giving flowers, they always do an incredible job in creating the most unique bouquets that truly represents local florists during the seasons. After first speaking with Ellen, she knew exactly how to implement my vision for our fall wedding, including the special details within our bouquets and for our vases. I was slightly hesitant to work with a florist who did not do "traditional" bouquets, but that feeling was completely gone after meeting Ellen and seeing the beautiful flowers that she, and the farmers she works with, are able to produce. Four months before our wedding we had to change venues and our color scheme and Ellen was not only accommodating with a second consultation, but made us both feel at ease that the centerpieces and bouquets would look gorgeous. Carling and Eric even followed up several times via email and phone to confirm the order and ensure everything was accurate before the wedding. I cried when I saw my bouquet for the first time and after the wedding many of our guests told us how beautiful the flowers were. I cannot praise the artistry and service of Local Color Flowers enough! They created the most beautiful centerpieces for our daughter's wedding reception last weekend (July 2016) -- each one unique and artistic with the most fresh and local blooms, fruit, and herbs. In addition, the corsages and boutonnieres were each different and our family had such fun picking out which ones we wanted to wear before the reception. The direction we gave Ellen and Irene was the feel of an "upscale cookout" with bright and beautiful blooms and elements of fruit/herbs. The groom is Australian, so they went out of their way to find local blooms that are similar to those grown in Australia. Our guests were raving about how gorgeous the flowers were (and they smelled delicious with all the herbs!) I highly recommended Local Color Flowers if you want beautiful, fresh, unique flowers are your next event. And Irene and Ellen were a joy to work with!

Why buy flowers that come from China or other distant places when you can get flowers that come from Maryland growers? At first we weren’t sure about hiring a florist, or having flowers at all for our wedding, but we quickly realized that DIY alternatives wouldn’t work for us. We ended up finding Local Color Flowers through our caterer’s vendor recommendation page, and we are so thankful that we did! Ellen and Local Color Flowers are awesome; they created the most beautiful centerpieces, garlands, boutonnieres, corsages, and bridal bouquet for our wedding. We had a great initial phone consultation with Ellen, and knew that Local Color Flowers dedication to supporting local flower farmers and using more sustainable practices was a perfect fit for us. Since Local Color Flowers only uses flowers that are seasonal and locally grown, we didn’t actually know what kind of flowers would be a part of our wedding day. We created a Pinterest board to share some ideas regarding style and color-scheme, but other than that, we left it to Ellen and her team to decide which flowers and how best to arrange them. Not knowing exactly what the flowers would look like made for a wonderful surprise on our wedding day. Ellen really captured our “last day of winter” celebration and put together an incredible array of red, maroon, and white flowers in gold vases for the centerpieces, as well as the most stunning bridal bouquet to match my black wedding dress. In addition to the gorgeous flowers, we really appreciated that Ellen helped keep within our budget by suggesting ways to limit delivery costs, and was really flexible about scheduling. We loved working with Local Color Flowers and highly recommend working with them if you’re in the Baltimore/DC area!

I could not have asked for a better florist. We consulted with many florists before deciding on Local Color Flowers. I loved the idea that all of their flowers were withing 100 miles.
When we went in for our consultation, I was all over the place. I had looked on Pinterest and had a million ideas for what I wanted. I didn't know the color of my bridesmaid's dresses or what color the groomsmen would have as an accent. I went in with "unique wildflower."
After fretting a little, miraculously, on the day of the wedding, the flowers arrived and they were PERFECT! Exactly what I had envisioned in my head but was not able to articulate. I couldn't have been more grateful.
Budget was a concern with us as well and Local Color did everything in their power to meet our needs and make suggestions on how we could cut costs and get to where we needed to be for our bottom line.
If you are considering a florist for whatever the event may be, look no further than Local Color Flower. Perfection all around.

I was referred to Local Color Flowers by a friend, and I was drawn to their approach of providing local flowers for events and supporting local flower growers. I thought they were great to work with, they always responded quickly and were very attentive to even the tiniest details of our order. I was most excited to see the flowers that they would put together and I was blown away by how beautifully everything came out. I had told them that I wanted whatever colors were available for an October wedding and a bohemian easygoing look and feel. It was stunning, they made suck a beautiful flower arrangement for the structure where we got married and the table set ups were beautiful, I enjoyed many of the flowers for the week following the wedding.
Whenever I had changes to make or wanted to add or subtract things to the order, they were so helpful and accommodating. Overall a great experience, I highly recommend.

Local Color Flowers in Baltimore did the flowers for our March wedding, and they were great. Local Colors uses locally grown flowers and other environmentally friendly measures such as not using nonbiodegradable and toxic flower foam such as Oasis. They have a good supply of container choices, which allows you to choose the ‘look’ you want. They did two huge vases of white flowering quince and pear branches for the ceremony. They did 14 lovely table arrangements in silver bowls for the dining tables and the bouquets, with tulips, parrot tulips, double daffodils, poppies, freesia, andromeda, boxwood, carnations, stock, ranunculus, snaps, callas, sweet William, iris...all sourced from farms within 100 miles of Baltimore in March. My extended family is in the floral business and they were very impressed - which is a great endorsement!
Local Color was responsive and helpful throughout the process, and also very flexible about allowing us to return the vases we had rented. They were also very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend them!

I contracted with LCF for bouquets for me and my bridesmaids, boutonnieres, wrist corsages, table decorations, and decorations for an arch. They do amazing work! Absolutely gorgeous colors and flowers. I knew I wanted beautiful flowers, but I didn't want to have total control over them - I don't know that much about flowers and I'm not that OCD. All I had to do was tell Ellen what colors I wanted and away she went! We ended up with amazing flowers that smelled incredible.

I was looking for a florist that could make lovely flower arrangements that looked like they came from a garden, and they were the perfect fit for what I was looking for. They work with local farms (hence their name) so I didn't know what the arrangements would look like until the wedding day. They were so lovely and I was just so happy I went with them. Not only were the arrangements beautiful, they even smelled lovely from some of the herbs in the bouquet. I had urges to bite into my bouquet several times during the wedding!

This team is the absolute best. My whole wedding ended up happening under a tent b/c of rain that day, and it was no problem because all of the beautiful flowers were so perfect. Organic and varied and artistic and exactly in my weird "coral poppy super bright but super natural" requested color scheme. Throughout, Ellen and Carling and Irene were all so flexible and gave such awesome advice and were at once low key and also so clearly invested in my happiness. I just loved working with them and was so blown away by their talent and spirit of generosity!!!

I couldn't have dreamed my flowers to be more amazing, fragrant and special. I was nervous because you pick colors and they use the seasonally available flowers in your color scheme. They were.. magnificent. I wanted an organic feel with pinks, purples and a presence of the natural green in the bouquet. I was blown away. I would highly, highly recommend this group. Ellen is amazing!

We hired LoCoFlo for my bridal bouquet, flower hair clip, and wedding party boutonnieres / wrist corsages. I spoke with Ellen on the phone about what our wedding style was like and what we were looking for (and also sent her a pinterest board for inspiration) and the arrangements she had made were phenomenal! We loved supporting local farms and were so impressed with the quality of the flowers. My bouquet featured so many quirky details -- little black ornamental peppers, fern fronds, black calla lilies and dahlias... it also smelled amazing. Three days later, after some trimming, it still looks fabulous! Tremendous quality and very reasonable pricing.

Local Color Flowers is AWESOME and I would highly recommend them to anyone. I had my bridal bouquet and two bridesmaid posies made for my wedding on July 18th. I initially met with Carling and we sat down for awhile talking about my theme and vision for the wedding. Then, I e-mailed her pictures of many bouquets that I really liked for inspiration. Local Color Flowers has a ton of pinterest boards to look through for all seasons, so that was incredibly helpful and gave me an idea of the different styles they are capable of doing - which is pretty much anything. I LOVE the fact that all of their flowers are local. We got some DIY Flowers from Butterbee Farms for centerpieces and actually got to go to the farm, and that is one of the farms LoCoFlo uses. So everything kind of came full circle and everyone knows each other, so that was really cool. My bouquet was EXACTLY what I had imagined and absolutely gorgeous. I almost cried having to get rid of it the other day. My photographer said it was the best she has seen this season. I changed my pick up to a delivery a few weeks before the wedding, as well as the kind of wrap I wanted, and I never had to wait long for a response via e-mail and everyone was so flexible and accommodating. I had a great experience and would use them again in a heartbeat as well as recommend them to any bride!!!

The flowers were exactly the 'vibe' Bride and Groom were looking for, with intentional attention to special requests. Worked nicely within a close budget and felt true to the aesthetic of the event. Very nice to be fully locally sourced.

We hired Local Color to do all of our flowers for our wedding, including ceremony and reception. The flowers were unbelievably beautiful and fresh. Ellen and her team customized a piece of garland for the ceremony which turned out perfectly! The bouquets and boutonnieres were completely stunning. Honestly we could not have been happier with their services. It was very important for us to have locally sourced flowers and Local Color absolutely delivered.

Ellen at LoCoFlo was wonderful! We ordered a bouquet and a boutonniere well in advance of our wedding, and only a week or two beforehand decided to add bulk flowers to our order. She was incredibly accommodating to this last minute addition and everything turned out beautifully. They even sent 2 boutonnieres because at the last minute they received a shipment of calla lilies, which my husband really wanted. So rather than getting rid of the one they had already made us, they sent us both! All around, a wonderful company to work with.

Ellen and her team at Local Color Flowers did a fantastic job with the flowers for our wedding. One of the most intriguing qualities of LCF is that all the flowers are sourced locally and therefore all of the floral arrangements are made with flowers that are in season. We gave LCF a loose idea of what we wanted for the centerpieces and all the other arrangements we had made (our colors were gray and yellow and we wanted alternating High/Low centerpieces) and we were blown away with what the team created.
The only specific request I had was to include a pink flower in my bridal bouquet in remembrance of my husband's grandmother. What they provided was an amazing yellow and while bouquet with the prettiest pink flower that complimented the entire look. LFC is professional, talented and they will work with your budget to provide you with stunning floral arrangements on your wedding day.
We did run into some minor issues with the corsage glue not keeping some flowers on the corsage band and the Irish lace wrap for my bouquet not being wrapped around it but overall we were very happy with the services provided my LCF. We definitely recommend them!

I knew Local Color Flowers would have amazing arrangements, but I was blown away by how perfect they were for our wedding. We didn't give too much direction given that we hadn't chosen specific colors for the wedding. Our wedding took place at the Corradetti Glassblowing Studio which has lovely multi-colored glass pieces and we wanted the flowers to be springy, wildflower look that went with that multi-colored decor. The only specification we had was no traditional/formal flowers such as roses. Luckily Irene, who we worked with, used to work at Corradetti and knew the space well. What we got was an amazing array of pastel-colored spring flowers and succulents. They are truly artists at Locoflo! And to top it all of they're sustainable. I also had them arrange a hair comb of flowers and they went so beautifully with everything. Was the perfect pop of color, my hairdresser became giddy putting the flowers in my hair.
I should also mention that we gave them vintage coffee cans and medicine bottles to make the table arrangements and the way the flower colors went with the cans was so cool.
You know you're putting your money in the right place when you work with Locoflo! They do amazing work, with local flower growers and you know you'll have the most beautiful outcome. This has inspired me to have more everyday bouquets around the house, so I will definitely be going back to Locoflo for those!

I am still amazed that we were lucky enough to find Local Color Flowers and enlist Ellen for our wedding date, only months before. My sister and mother had previously hired a florist that they used for my sister's wedding, and after spending a lot of time expressing my desires for simple, locally sourced wildflowers and this florist just not getting it or not caring about my opinion, I fired him out of frustration and fear that I would hate his arrangements which were not our simple style at all.
Our vision was to have wildflowers, readily available in June, that was reminiscent of the times we would go to our farm to pick up our CSA share together and there were pick your own wildflowers to take home each week. I googled and quickly came across LCF and called Ellen right away to see if she was available for our date. She was! And we set up an appointment to go downtown to her studio to talk about what we wanted and realized right away we were on the same page and we could trust her to make it happen! Her studio is fun, with vases lining the walls. She walked us over to the jars and antique glassware we could use for our arrangements. We used her beautiful birch branches for our chuppah. Ellen was very flexible and she and her staff did a gorgeous job coloring our wedding! We got many well deserved compliments for our flowers. Thank you!!

Choosing Local Color Flowers was one of my easiest and best choices when wedding planning! I was recommended by a friend of mine who had recently been married in Baltimore, and loved the concept of choosing local, seasonal flowers. Carling did an amazing job of listening to my fiancé and I and translating our ideas into a detailed written proposal, and Ellen and team came through for our wedding with the MOST beautiful flowers I have ever seen at a wedding (although I may be biased). In addition, Ellen was extremely communicative and helpful in the days leading up to the wedding, and very flexible with managing inputs from multiple family members. Top 3 best vendors I had for our special day. They works tirelessly to make sure our vision was shown in all the floral details and within our budget. We had multiple bouquets, bouts and a huge lush garland to hang on an archway- all done BEAUTIFULLY for a great price.

Ellen is fantastic! Our flowers were absolutely gorgeous - we received so many compliments on our bouquets and centerpieces. I loved that she had free reign to select whatever was local and seasonally fresh and she created exactly what I envisioned. The pictures were stunning!
Also, the flowers (being so freshly cut) lasted all day. Only the groomsmen boutonnieres started to wilt by the very end of the night, but everything lasted all day (which is rare - and I have experienced in other weddings where the flowers start to die before the ceremony is even finished). We were able to send the centerpiece displays home with aunts and grandmothers since they were still so beautiful!

Flowers were not originally at the top of my list as “important” when it came to my wedding day. We were married in a funky museum and had the reception in the third floor loft, so I wanted the wedding to read “fun” more than “romance.” The first few florists I met with talked about specific types of flowers and structures, and I became bored with the whole thing pretty quickly. Then I met Ellen at LoCoFlo. The minute I met Ellen, who is warm and inviting, I knew I had to hire her. The fact that all the flowers come from local farms and Ellen’s passion about choosing beautiful, unique, and local foliage and flowers was truly inspiring. Her organic style was exactly what I wanted for my wedding, and LoCoFlo really delivered that day! She created a beautiful coral dahlia barrette for me to wear in my hair (complete with spiky rosemary – awesome!), beautiful bouquets for me and my girls, and breathtaking centerpieces. We had multiple compliments throughout the night on the beauty of the flowers, and something that originally didn’t mean that much to me became one of my favorite parts about that day. We even used them for our brunch the next day and many family members and friends were able to take some home. They lasted for days! If you are eco-conscious or simply want someone to create magic with interesting and unique flowers on your big day, Ellen is your girl! I can’t recommend her enough.

My wedding flowers were amazing! Local Color Flowers is the best. Every flower looked like it had been hand-picked for the arrangement. Even though I couldn't pick the exact flowers ahead of time, what came day-of was so much better than I could have imagined, with so many types of beautiful flowers. And I loved that they were all grown locally. Ellen (the owner) was awesome to work with and even texted me pictures of the flower girls' crowns morning-of so we could figure out how to style their hair. I very strongly recommend LCF for anyone getting married (or needing flowers for anything!!) in the Baltimore area.

I am a gardener and value the effort put into making a beautiful plant grow. I also know how hard it is to make a living off the land. Local Color Flowers was the only floral designer I visited because their commitment to local flower farmers was so clear. To understand the Local Color Flowers style, I followed them on Facebook and Instagram. When I arrived at the super cool studio, Ellen, the owner, immediately put me at ease. We discussed the general "feel" of our wedding and the color scheme. She made a few notes and that was it. The day of the wedding the flowers blew me away. The flowers were so fresh, brilliantly colored and smelled amazing! The arrangements were top-notch quality. The bouquets were full of flowers I recognized but also really unique flowers that I didn't even know could grow in the Mid-Atlantic! Ellen and her team LOVE what they do and they work hard to make sure that each bride has the most breathtaking flowers - all grown with love by your local farmer. If you are going to spend money on wedding flowers, then I strongly recommend working with the fabulous Local Color Flower team and their crew of local growers. You won't be disappointed.

OBSESSED with Ellen and her team at Local Color Flowers! My mom and I fell in love after our meeting with Ellen back in December. (I mean, what other florists actually hand pick where your flowers are coming from?!) Not only is her shop in Waverly super cool, but Ellen just gets it! I wanted a very organic and natural feel for my navy and coral "preppy elegant" September 13 wedding, and I was absolutely blown away by what they came up with! I gave her inspiration photos but also gave her room to be creative. She even suggested wine cork boutonnieres for our groomsmen (my husband sells wine), which were SO cool and unique--everyone loved them! Ellen also provided the flower arrangements for our rehearsal dinner at the Johns Hopkins Club which were equally as gorgeous! She even tucked fragrant basil leaves in them!! YUMM! We highly recommend Ellen and her team at Local Color Flowers!

Ellen has a special talent in translating a casual conversation into a perfectly-executed vision. After meeting with her and chatting about what I wanted, I was amazed at how accurately my wishes were captured when I received the contract - she definitely listens closely to her customers. She was flexible and easy to work with as we figured out the right number and size for our centerpieces. I could not have asked for flowers more perfect. I love the eco-friendlyness of using locally grown in season flowers. I loved working with Ellen and Carling. I love that I came with a color concept and an inspiration pinboard that I shared with them and they made the magic happen! They delivered the most beautiful flowers I could have dreamed of! I loved the bonus surprise of seeing your flowers for the first time on your wedding day! If you need specific flowers or to be very hands on this might not be for you, but I loved it. Not only were the flowers beautiful, but they smelled great; the smell is something that you lose with imported greenhouse flowers. The flowers were so beautiful and vibrant; they were even able to work succulents into the bouquets and tiny baby ones into the boutonnieres! I could not have asked for anything more perfect. Everyone complemented us on how original and beautiful our flowers were. I am so enamored with Local Color Flowers that I am signing up for one of their how-to workshops!

Local Color Flowers put together all of the floral arrangements for our wedding, and they were positively stunning. They paired big, romantic blooms in blush and white with soft lambs ear and other summery greens, bound with twine, burlap and lace. Every arrangement was breathtaking, and I love that the flowers came from farms nearby.
The staff was a joy to work with, and they responded to our requests with expert ease. Highly recommend working with this talented vendor!

I LOVE the concept of their socially focused business and that all of the flowers are locally grown - and appreciated the added value and still reasonable costs. Ellen and her team were so easy to work with and created everything I asked for and more, just from brief explanations and a few sample photos. I sat down with Ellen at her studio and answered majority of her questions with, “ I don’t know, whatever you think is best.” I am sure it was frustrating, but in the end I made the right choice. I thought their prices were competitive with other florists, and they were flexible to work with. Best of all, since only the freshest, locally available flowers are used, the final arrangements are a pleasant surprise on the day of the wedding. We specified colors and styles we liked, and they took care of the rest! I knew from seeing photos of their work that their arrangements would be beautiful, professional, and creative, and they did not disappoint.

Our photographer, Brea, actually mentioned Ellen and Local Color Flowers during our meeting. From the first, I was intrigued with the concept of providing a color palette, a general style and a few flowers were nice-to-haves and let Ellen and her team come up with everything else. My husband and I are also big proponents of supporting local businesses and I was glad to know that all of the flowers are locally grown. Ellen was the first florist that I met with and I should have stopped with her. I really didn't need to shop around. Ellen was responsive, professional and knew her stuff. I think she probably changed the contract about three times for me because I changed my color combos and then kept forgetting people. She was quick to get back to me through it all. I loved being surprised with the bouquets and other flowers. When we got to the venue, the bouquets were in our ready room and we were all taken amazed at how beautiful and vibrant they were, and how much it all matched my original vision. Then seeing the centerpieces and other floral aspects throughout the venue really affirmed that I had made the right choice. I have some of the flowers dried and some pressed and the colors are still great. Ellen and Local Color Flowers nailed it.

As soon as I heard of the concept of Local Color Flowers I did not look any further. I decided to support this company in their mission and I was not disappointed. I went through some pictures and told them of a few things that I liked and then I trusted everything to them. They delivered to the venue and decorated our cake when they arrived. Everything was beyond gorgeous and I highly recommend supporting this concept of locally grown flowers. The nicest touch was that they followed up with me afterwards to make sure I was happy with everything. So nice!

I actually googled local florists in Baltimore and found "Local Color Flowers"!! Ellen was amazing ~ she was so helpful and explained how her store worked!! I fell in love immediately with her local farm concept. After reading about her, I learned she was a Vendor on WeddingWire too. Knowing WeddingWire personally, (NJ Bridal hair n makeup company) I felt I was truly in good hands. She delivered my daughters arrangement on time and the flower choices were just beautiful!! Thank you again Ellen for making Sarah so happy on her birthday!! We look forward to continuing doing business with you.

She worked with us to fit our budget and came through with the most beautiful wedding flowers I have ever seen, no one would believe that we actually got a great deal that fit our limited budget. She was also extremely flexible as two of my bridesmaids had to drop out at the last minute. I would use them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them as a superb wedding vendor.

At our first meeting with Ellen, owner of Local Color Flowers, we KNEW we wanted her to do our wedding. Ellen is passionate about what she does and saw our vision for our wedding. She worked with me to show examples of her ideas and welcomed my own. She also went the extra mile and helped hang light strands all over the venue with my event coordinator to make the room even more beautiful. Local Color Flowers uses locally sourced flowers from farms within about 100 miles of the Baltimore area...so if you want something that is very specific and out of season, this company is probably not for you (which Ellen was very upfront about)- you just can't make an exotic tropical flower bloom in Maryland in December. HOWEVER if you want something unique and beautiful that simply flows with your color palette (and supports local business!), this is absolutely a wonderful choice. For me, not having to think about the flowers any more than stating "I would like some hot pinks" and "I want low centerpieces" --here are a few things I like, was such a blessing. I received more compliments on flowers than any other decor related item at the wedding. I can't say enough good things.

We cannot say enough great things about Ellen and the team at LoCoFlo. Based on very little information (and not even meeting me in person!), they somehow managed to fulfill our vision perfectly. W e loved the bouquet, centerpieces, and boutonnieres. Ellen was incredibly flexible and responsive throughout the whole process; we made several changes, including added in headpieces for the bride and flowergirl at the very last minute, and they made them beautifully. They even made two for me to choose from, one in white and one with fall colors. In addition to the high quality product, we were pleased to support LoCoFlo's local business model. We were also very pleased with the value. We hope other folks are able to become part of the magic of LoCoFlo just as we were!

Having Local Color Flowers do the flowers for my wedding was a great decision. The flowers were not only beautiful, but the arrangements and bouquets smelled fantastic! My flower headpiece that was created for when I walked down the aisle in lieu of a veil was breathtaking. Flowers were the first thing I envisioned when my husband and I got engaged, and she created even more beautiful arrangements than I could have ever imagined. I highly recommend Ellen and the team at Local Color Flowers! I was looking for a local, sustainable option for wedding flowers that wouldn’t break the bank. Local Color Flowers went above and beyond my wildest expectations.
Ellen was talented, professional, and a joy to work with. Because I live out of state, we had our discussions over the phone. She was quick to respond to my phone calls, and did a great job of scheduling out the planning process. I enjoyed our conversations-- Ellen’s caring personality made the wedding planning process so much more pleasurable.
I had a vision for color and style, but I needed help making my ideas more concrete. Every step of the way, Ellen worked with me and answered my questions. Would the groomsmen’s gray suits match with the other colors I had chosen? How could I make my grandiose vision more affordable? Ellen did an amazing job of listening to me while also giving me the feedback I needed.
On the day of the wedding, Ellen showed up early with the most beautiful floral arrangements I could possibly imagine. I was floored. She set up everything without a hitch-- I didn’t need to worry about a thing. It made a big difference to be surrounded by so much beauty on my wedding day.
I couldn’t have been happier with Ellen’s work on my wedding flowers. She is an amazing artist and a consummate professional. I highly recommend Local Color Flowers!

Ellen asked me a lot of questions about the look & feel I wanted for the wedding. She was open about costs and did not try to oversell was was needed for my venue. This company uses flowers from local growers only, so a bride needs to be open to not being able to choose the exact colors & flowers, but rather know was is available generally each season and be ok with the chance of not designing every detail. She was a pleasure to work with, and I'd highly recommend the company if you are interested in supporting small & or local business in particular.
