Lisa photographed our engagement shoot and our two-day wedding celebration, and she was amazing. She handled so many different photographic settings -- cold gray weather, sunny and outside, difficult/awkward lit hotel rooms, and brightly lit indoor receptions. Importantly, Lisa put us so at ease from the very beginning and was so much fun to be with. And she was super professional, from scouting locations in advance so that we were efficient with photos, to hitting the right balance for us between staged photos and more relaxed ones. She also rolled with the punches, whether it was a wasp interrupting our first look or changes to our schedule. Thank you!

Beautiful Photos and a pleasure to work with!

We used Lisa for our wedding photographer and she was absolutely amazing!! From our very first meeting with her, she set out an entire plan for the day and truly took away so much anxiety from my husband and I. I knew she was the perfect person to work with from that moment and I was not wrong! Not only are her photographs incredibly beautiful but she was a pleasure to have with me on my wedding day. She worked closely with our planner and did not let any stress land on the wedding party at all. You could not go wrong working with Lisa, I would recommend her to anyone!

The BEST photographer!

We absolutely loved working with Lisa and our photos turned out amazing! A significant part of your wedding day is spent with your photographer and we couldn't be happier that ours was Lisa! She kept everything light and upbeat, made us laugh all day, and somehow simultaneously went with the flow and kept us on track. We had so much fun taking pictures with her and she made us, as well as our wedding party, feel so comfortable in front of the camera (when normally we aren't).

On top of that, our photos came out amazing! All of our friends and family commented on how they were some of the best wedding photos they'd ever seen. She perfectly balanced formal photos with candids (and a few artistic photos, which ended up being some of our favorites!). She took the time and effort to make sure that our gallery turned out perfect (seamlessly photoshopping people from the background of some photos). Gorgeous photos, amazing experience, highly recommend!!

We LOVE our wedding photos - they are classic and beautiful. Lisa completely exceeded our (already very high) expectations and we can’t say enough good things about her. We look fantastic and Lisa was a delight to work with from start to finish. She made us feel comfortable and coached us and our families through formal portraits quickly and efficiently - the results were gorgeous. I love all of them, but my favorites are the photos from the reception - not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and capture the amazing time we had with our friends and family. Lisa’s second shooter also did an amazing job - the photos of my husband getting ready are excellent. Finally, I would also say that your photographer is with you the whole day and Lisa was great to be around - she was not intrusive and was always positive and helpful and made us feel really comfortable. We can’t say enough good things about Lisa and the quality of her work!

Our wedding photos are fantastic and Lisa was wonderful to work with!

Everyone tells you that the wedding day goes by in a blur (and they are right) but Lisa’s photos really captured every detail of the day and have allowed us and our guests to experience it all over again.

During the planning phase, she had great recommendations on the best locations for formal photos, navigating photos on the national mall in the midst of Cherry Blossoms, and all of the other logistics to ensure that the photos came out perfectly.

On your wedding day, you really spend a ton of time with your photographer so having someone you click with is essential and Lisa was the best. She has a wonderful ability to unobtrusively keep you on track throughout the various stages of the photos to ensure you capture all of the great moments without pulling you away from being in the moment.

We cannot recommend Lisa enough!

Overjoyed by our photos!

We absolutely LOVE our wedding pictures. Lisa did an incredible job capturing the joy of our wedding day and taking some really unique and creative shots. In addition to her beautiful photography skills, she is also very professional and kind. Our original photographer cancelled two weeks before our wedding and when our planner referred us to Lisa, she graciously stepped in at the last minute, though it felt like we had been working with her much longer. The transition was so seamless. In a situation that could've caused a lot of stress for us, we quickly realized how lucky we were that we ended up in her hands. We had a lot of logistical decisions that were still up in the air when we booked her , and we also had a large wedding party to maneuver. She had a lot of helpful advice and suggestions for executing our photo vision and scouted out some great locations. She also made us feel really comfortable and calm on our wedding day. We would definitely recommend Lisa and book her for future events/shoots.

Lisa is Amazing

Lisa was so fantastic. We previously used a different photographer for our surprise engagement, and a lot of the photos came out stilted. Lisa was truly able to capture the magic of our wonderful day and our rehearsal dinner, and made us feel really comfortable along the way (I'm not the most photogenic human). We have a large family, so we had to get a ton of formal photos and Lisa was such a pro at whipping through everything. I still can't believe what she was able to do in the short amount of time we gave her for photos. Plus the turn around was great for photos! Overall, would definitely hire Lisa again!

Love her! Love our wedding photos!

Lisa was such a great photographer!! She really made our wedding day so special and the photos are GORGEOUS! Best You'll Ever Get

Working with Lisa was amazing! Lisa took our engagement and wedding pictures and I could not have asked for better quality or better pictures that captured our beautiful day. She is so sweet and professional, making us laugh during our engagement shoot so we felt comfortable to be ourselves. We had our dogs with us too and she did a fantastic job getting them to look at the camera and do fun things!

We had to reschedule our engagement shoot multiple times due to personal matters, as well as Covid, but each time we did Lisa was completely understanding and accommodating in such a weird time!

When it came to our wedding photos, she made the 'formals' where everyone gets tired of standing around so much, effortless and quick. The more personal ones felt like we were alone in the room, just focusing on each other and our day.

I cannot recommend Lisa enough to anyone looking for high quality, gorgeous and memorable photos!

True artist!

Lisa is a true artist! We hired her for our engagement and wedding photos and ended up changing our date due to COVID. We are so pleased, and continue to be so pleased, that Lisa was our wedding photographer! Starting with our engagement photos, Lisa was always willing to work with us, get to know us as a couple and individually, and scope the perfect photo locations! On the day of our wedding, Lisa and Cicely worked seamlessly with our fairly large group (16 of us!), dealing with location changes, many portraits (while also capturing so many candids that we love), and embracing the crazy wind - taking some of favorite moments and capturing the joy of the day. Best photographer EVER

I am sooo happy we selected Lisa as our wedding photographer. Hiring Lisa Boggs was the best decision we made during our wedding planning.

We had an incredible experience working with Lisa. She was professional and personable and took the time to understand our unique wedding challenges and became a force of calm throughout the whole process. Lisa took the time to meet with us to really understand our vision.

For our engagement photos, we thought it would be fun to take some extreme weather photographs since it was something we had in common with Lisa. A snowstorm on the National Mall was our ideal situation and Lisa made it happen. This idea presented some challenges as we didn’t know when exactly the next snow would be. When it started to snow one day, we called Lisa to see if she was available, and she dropped everything to drive into DC for our shoot. Lisa spent the entire afternoon with us around the monuments capturing all of the great moments in the snow storm WITH OUR TWO PUPS! It was such a fun experience and we were thrilled that Lisa was able to help us make it all happen in the snow.

During our wedding, Lisa helped in so many ways. Her patience and kindness made the day-of much less stressful, even when the wedding party left us (yes, left the bride, groom, maid of honor and photographers) at the Jefferson Memorial during our pre-ceremony photos.

Lisa’s photos are beautiful, timeless, and captured the true emotion, character, and vibe of our special day. Our wedding album is gorgeous - it’s everything we hoped for and more. We have received so many compliments and strongly recommend her to anyone wanting exquisite photographs for engagements, weddings, or any special moment. Lisa came highly recommended to us the second we got engaged and I’m so glad she was. It was the easiest decision we made in the wedding planning process. We used Lisa for both our engagement photos and for our wedding in July of 2016. Getting professional pictures done was new to my husband and I and Lisa made it an exceptional experience. Being comfortable with your photographer was very important to us and this came naturally with Lisa. On the day of your wedding you spend a majority of your day with your photographer so it is essential that you get along. With Lisa, it felt like we had a good friend with us the entire time. Lisa was absolutely fantastic. She photographed my small wedding in Alexandria, VA. She met with us before the wedding to get a sense of our style and what types of photos we wanted. She was friendly, enthusiastic, and flexible. On the wedding day, she took a ton of pictures, so we got to see some things we missed on the actual day. Of all the wedding decisions we’d have to make during the planning process, my wife made it clear that photography was the one she felt most strongly about. For some reason, she has been following various wedding photographer blogs for years (read, we were picky). After meeting with a handful of photographers, reading 100’s of reviews and viewing and comparing countless pictures, we found Lisa. Finally!

And we couldn’t be happier that we did, for so many reasons. It was her awesome photos and high quality of work that caught our eye, but we soon found out that she was also super fun to work with, funny, patient, flexible with random photo related requests, creative, prepared, and just made us feel comfortable (which is important since we’re not used to PDAing in front of the camera). She’s the kind of dedicated that will climb a ladder or lie down on the ground in the rain to get a good shot. Also, my wife and I are two fairly detail oriented women with lots of questions, but Lisa was great at going with the flow, being extremely responsive, and never making us feel like we were being high maintenance. Even our guests told us that they loved our photographer’s personality.

We’re now left with 1,000’s of amazing pictures that we LOVE flipping through. She captured all of our favorite memories and did so brilliantly. We’d highly recommend Lisa to anyone looking for a fantastic wedding photographer!

Photography was one of my top priorities for my wedding and I'm so glad I hired Lisa. We chose Lisa because 1. her photographs are just stunning- they look timeless and she manages to make everyone look good in pictures and 2. she is so friendly and easy to work with- it's like hiring a friend (a very very talented, friend!) to take your photos. I was really nervous when we took our engagement photos but she made us feel at ease and was able to give great tips and suggestions on how to pose without looking too staged or awkward.
Bad weather leading up to and rain on our actual wedding day meant the location we originally wanted for our first look was not a good choice anymore. But Lisa was able to think outside of the box and found the most perfect spot on the fly (a random bank facade with an overhang near our venue). I really wanted to take pictures outside to take advantage of natural light and Lisa's creativity made it happen. When you look at our pictures you can't even tell it's raining! When we received our pictures I just cried because I don't think I've ever looked happier or prettier. Lisa is truly an artist and she has such a great eye for capturing special moments and creating photographs that look like works of art. Our wedding album looks amazing!

Lisa is absolutely amazing to work with! We had her do our engagement portraits and were so happy with them we knew we had to have her shoot our wedding too. She knows how to make you feel comfortable even if getting your picture taken isn't really your thing. Her suggestions for poses and locations also ended up being some of the best shots in the whole series. You'd be hard pressed to find a more charming, fun, and talented photographer.

I am so happy that I had Lisa Boggs as our wedding photographer! I am sure like most brides, I had some preceding wedding jitters and Lisa put me right at ease from the very beginning. She was very friendly and sweet, and also put a lot of extra humor, laughter, and smiles into our wedding day. She felt like part of our family immediately. The wedding pictures came out beautifully and will be treasured by my husband and me for the rest of our lives. I couldn't imagine anyone else filling Lisa's place! She's the best!

We were really delighted with Lisa's work, professionalism, and personality. She was referred to us by friends who also had an excellent experience with her.

Book Lisa soon because she doesn't sit long on the market for dates, particularly in the high season. She's not a discount option, but with wedding photographs, its smart to pay for quality.

A couple things stood out to us with Lisa. The quality of her photos is evident from her website. But that only tells you so much. Lisa did a marvelous job of putting us at ease in the run up to and especially during the day's ceremonies. She was easy to be in touch with, understood what we were looking for in terms of our photos, and executed to perfection. At the first look, ceremony, and reception, she helped us to stay relaxed and moved about doing her work with confidence, but while remaining discreet and keeping us on schedule.

The other thing that stands out is that she took the pictures we asked her to. We asked for lots of pictures with family, and she did just that. Every single person at the reception was photographed.

And her delivery process and portal for viewing and buying the pictures is easy and intuitive.

We referred Lisa without hesitation to some friends, who have already booked her for a wedding next May.

Lisa was great to work with and I would definitely recommend her! My husband and I both usually hate having our picture taken, but she made us feel super comfortable, and all the photos were beautiful. Also, unlike some photographers at other weddings we've been to, Lisa was virtually invisible - we, and our guests, did not feel like we were constantly being bombarded with camera flashes, but she still managed to capture everything at the wedding. For our wedding, Lisa also worked with another photographer named Lisa, who was also great. I have been recommending her to all my friends who are getting married and would recommend her to anyone looking for a great photographer for a special occasion!

Lisa was a fantastic wedding photographer! I picked her because she was incredibly professional and prioritized getting to know my husband and me so that she could really capture the personal details of our wedding. For our engagement photos, Lisa drove 3 hours from DC to do our session in the town my husband and I were living in at the time. On our wedding day, she captured so many special moments. Lisa is truly dedicated to her craft and is very talented. I would recommend her to any couple!

This review is woefully late but very necessary! We hired Lisa Boggs to do our engagement pictures a few months ago. I am getting married in Atlanta, but my fiance and I really wanted our engagement pictures to be in DC (where we met). My wedding planner recommended Lisa and I am so glad she did. Lisa was AMAZING! She was so sweet and made the entire experience fun! During the whole shoot she helped us with posing and picking great picture spots. She also did some extremely cool things with lighting that I haven't seen from other photographers. Not to mention she also helped me pick out my outfits and is very fun to work with! Overall, we are VERY happy with our pictures. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars.

What can be said about Lisa that hasn't already been said? Simply put, she's amazing. Hire her. Seriously, do it.

Lisa is brilliant. She's responsive, creative, patient, on time, gives great direction, and is extremely coordinated. Oh, and she's got a fabulous personality. Her experience in the business definitely shines through and you know you are working with a professional. She made me feel beautiful, comfortable, and, most importantly, myself on my wedding day. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for the best in the business.

I just asked my husband to describe her in one word and he said, "fantastic." So, there you go. Hire Lisa.

They raved on about how amazing she was to work with, how comfortable they felt & above all, how professional she is;& everything is right on target but so much more!
Lisa photographed our engagement pictures first; they turned out incredible!! As our wedding day was nearing, Lisa checked in with me periodically to make sure that she knew exactly what specific photos we wanted! Lisa was phenomenal! The day of-she had a list so as not to miss a single one! She was attentive, professional & a complete pro! She knew when to make us laugh & when to switch it up for those intimate shots. Lisa goes above & beyond to make sure that you have absolutely breathtaking, exciting & extremely remarkable photos that are in every way unique to you & your event.

Lisa is awesome! We really enjoyed working with her at every stage in the process from our initial meeting, to the venue walk-through to the wedding day. In addition to being an awesome photographer and a fun person to have around on my wedding day, she and her assistant did a really good job of helping to keep things organized and on schedule in the time leading up to the ceremony, including making sure all the men got the boutonnieres the florist dropped off for them.

Lisa's photos are amazing and I am so happy with how my wedding photos turned out. My mom said they look like scenes from a movie because everything is so professionally and artfully composed, and beautiful and natural.

I highly recommend Lisa!

WE LOVED LISA!! She was amazing to work with. I found her website and immediately fell in love with her style, and meeting her in person sealed the deal - she is lovely, funny, and so easy to work with. She had a lot of great ideas for us (I had no idea what to do / what I wanted) and was able to take charge with my VERY LARGE family and offer help, guidance, and sanity on the day of. And of course the photos are GORGEOUS!! I have never looked better in my life, and it has everything to do with her awesome skill. A++ would recommend to everyone!

Lisa Boggs was absolutely AMAZING to work with. I am still in awe of the pictures that she took at our wedding. We had seen some of her pictures online and loved them. Then we met her for coffee and we couldn’t wait to get her our deposit- we did not want to work with anyone else! We went with the Gold Package and also ordered an album from her. It was important to us to have pictures that we really loved since the day goes by so fast. We could not be happier with the pictures and life-long memories that Lisa gave us.

Lisa is kind, funny, and just great to be around. She is helpful and very responsive to any questions you may have before the wedding. At the wedding, she worked so hard and really captured every moment- big and small. I really believe that her pictures are so beautiful and natural because her personality makes you feel completely at ease. She is very professional and knows when you are ready for pictures, and when you might need a short break (or a drink!). She had a great mix of creative shots as well as more classic ones. Several members in our wedding party commented on how Lisa made the photography seem so easy.

After our wedding, Lisa’s amazing-ness continued. She sent us updates on our pictures and let us know when she had posted some of them to her blog. She is super organized and I love the way that she sends out the final shots. She is incredible!

Lisa was perfect for our wedding!
We live in the northern VA area, but got married in Martinsburg, WV. She was able to work with us even with the venue being so far, going out there to scout out photo spots ahead of time and being able to get there early and stay throughout the entire event. The photos afterward looked AMAZING! We couldn't have found a friendly, more professional photographer!

From the very first minute of meeting Lisa, my husband and I loved her! I immediately wanted to be her friend, let alone have her as my wedding photographer. She is so friendly and bubbly that you immediately feel at ease with her which made photo shoots incredibly easy with her. Where do I begin w. Lisa? I suppose if you're reading this, you are considering hiring her as a photographer. If that is the case you're off to a good start bc she is fantastic! Seriously. When my husband and I met her for a consultation we knew immediately that we wanted to work w. her (who am I kidding, I already knew I wanted to work w. her before we even met, I was just waiting for my other half to hurry up and come to the same conclusion!). My husband and I were nervous initially about the engagement shots- these sorts of things can go bad quickly but Lisa has a way of putting you at ease. She makes it fun! It was like hanging out w. a friend who just so happened to be taking incredible photos of you. By the time our wedding day arrived, I felt like I'd known Lisa forever and couldn't wait for her to be there to capture our day. She was a total pro and made sure she got all of the family shots we requested as well as captured so many beautiful candid shots. I look back at the photos now and smile- I feel like I'm back there reliving that amazing day! Lisa goes above and beyond to make sure that you have beautiful, interesting photos that are unique to you and your event. Weddings are mostly comprised of traditions but Lisa has a way of capturing those moments differently every time- she has such an eye!

I can't recommend her highly enough- you want her to photograph your event! I can only hope that we have the chance to work w. Lisa again.

If you are getting engaged or married, or you need portraits of any kind (family, professional, rock band, etc.), you should do yourself a favor and contact Lisa Boggs. She has shot my band in the past, and she did a set of pro portraits for my musician husband. If she hadn't been able to make it to our wedding, we would have considered changing the date.

Lisa is creative, thoughtful, and a consummate professional who goes well above and beyond what's expected to give you a gorgeous record of whatever point in your life that she's photographing. Frankly, if I could have Lisa Boggs follow me around with a camera every time I got dressed up, I would! She's that good, people! Plus, she's a total sweetheart and has an almost endless supply of patience for demanding family members and non-photo-related bridal obligations (this was key for my DIY wedding).

Lisa Boggs Photography can be summed up in one simple word; fantastic.

Lisa was referred to my husband and I through our wedding planner, however, several friends had recommended her as she photographed their weddings! I quickly browsed Lisa's website and was blown away. We had contacted Lisa and she was extremely responsive and flexible. Needless to say, we hired her, instantly!

Lisa photographed our engagement pictures and our wedding. The pictures turned our beautiful, every.single.one. From the engagement shoot to the time she had us over at her house to finish up our engagement shoot because it was nearly 30 degrees when she shot us at our National Capitol, to our wedding day; Lisa was wonderful. Yes, you read right...Lisa was so accommodating, she met us downtown to take our engagement pictures, in the freezing cold. Because our session got cut short (I couldn't take the cold anymore), she snapped additional photos of us, 4 months later in her backyard! She wanted to make sure we were satisfied! And boy... we were.

Lisa met with my husband and I several times throughout our engagement to talk about specific shots we wanted on our wedding day... she genuinely cared about our what we wanted.

Not only did she take the most beautiful photos, she helped me into my wedding dress and literally put my wedding shoes on for me because my dress was too big, I couldn't see! We were in a rush to get downstairs and while she was taking pictures of me getting into my dress, she stopped to help me put it on! That's how wonderful she is. I will never forget that moment, it was hilarious and so special! Who would have thought, the photographer helping the bride put on her wedding dress in a complete hurry...she's fabulous!

We highly recommend Lisa Boggs Photography as you will have the most spectacular pictures to cherish for a lifetime. She's incredibly kind, creative and has a vision for photography like no other!

Lisa is absolutely amazing. I found Lisa through searching images for weddings at our venue (Bluemont Vineyard) and immediately fell in love with her work. It was obvious from the few photos I saw that she had a great eye and the photos she took at our venue were gorgeous and dreamy.

From our very first meeting, my now Husband and I felt completely comfortable with her and felt that she totally understood our vision and was ready to work with us to get the kind of photos we really wanted. We even brainstormed about some unique shots that we thought would look good, and we were all excited to work together.

On the day of the wedding, Lisa was not only professional and well-organized, but she also made everyone feel comfortable and made the photo taking process fun and laid-back. We had a blast taking our group shots and Lisa even helped calm me down when I had a pre-wedding panic moment when part of my wedding dress was missing!

When we got all of our edited photos back from Lisa, we were blown away. She and her second photographer, Cicely, captured all of the amazing and beautiful moments from our special day, and our photos looked like something out of a movie! We have gotten countless compliments about our wedding photos, and we loved our experience with Lisa so much, that we referred her to our best friends who are getting married this Fall, and they loved Lisa just as much as we did.

We had a wonderful experience with Lisa, and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic photographer!

WE LOVE LISA! Seriously, my husband and I could not be happier with the excellent job she did photographing our wedding. From our first meeting through the big day through the ordering process, working with Lisa was a breeze. I was a little nervous about ANYONE's ability to wrangle our spirited bridal party and enormous families, but she took it all in stride and managed to capture great pictures of everyone. Her fun, laid back attitude put everyone at ease. Oh, and her editing skills are pretty phenomenal too...it was 105 degrees during our outdoor ceremony and we were definitely the sweatiest group of people I've ever seen at a wedding, but in the pictures we look glowy and relaxed and not like we're drowning. Magic, I tell you.

Lisa was the best! She captured so many perfect moments as well as the feelings and emotions of the day. Her photos of our wedding are a complete story of the best day of our lives; she has true talent and an eye for what's important. Lisa was such an easy person to work with, she gave great directions, and was willing to put up with our goofball wedding party :) She was also extremely flexible and ended up staying an extra hour when we decided to extend the celebration. I could not have imagined better images, and it was extremely tough to narrow down the ones I wanted to include in an album (yet she was able to help us with this as well!). Lisa was the first vendor I contacted once we had our wedding date. I had seen her work over the past few years and was captivated by the artistry of her photography. I was so excited she was available for our Sept 2013 wedding and could not wait to meet her.

At our initial meeting, we had a lot of fun getting to know it each other and both my husband and I felt comfortable with her right away. This comfort continued into our engagement photo session, which we did in Old Town Alexandria. Lisa had fantastic suggestions on where to go and made ordinary scenery and streets come to life and compliment us.

On our wedding day, I had no worries or stress related to the photography, I knew with Lisa’s talent and eye in combination with her dedication and passion our photos would be beautiful. When I saw the pictures I was stunned, they are absolutely amazing. She was able to capture the entire day perfectly, the photographs were better then I imagined. We have received so many compliments on our wedding photos and about how much fun our guests had with Lisa throughout the day.

Lisa was recommended to me by a co-worker who raved about working with her for their engagement session and how she couldn't wait for her wedding because she wanted to work with Lisa again. Good recommendation, right? Simply put, Lisa is amazing - her personality, her photography style, her sense of humor, everything. Where do we begin with Lisa? We absolutely adore her! After being in complete awe of her work, I was anxious to set up a meeting. She was the first and only photographer that my husband I met with. She was so resourceful, creative, relaxed and funny. Not to mention, a huge Mad Men fan (the theme for our e-photos!) After meeting and brainstorming ideas, we knew we had found the perfect photographer. Lisa was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire planning process. She was extremely responsive and was always willing to meet with me, my husband and mom. Our family and friends raved about our e-photos for months and often told us that judging from the shoot, our wedding photos would be nothing short of spectacular. When the big day came, Lisa and her second shooter did a fantastic job of capturing our moments down to the finest detail. As the first big wedding in my family, everyone was running around and excited but she did a great job of directing our wedding party for formal photos. About a month after the wedding, my grandpa, who walked me down the aisle passed away. I emailed Lisa and asked if she could send some photos of him from the wedding and within an hour, she sent me a whole gallery. Her eagerness in sending me the photos meant the world and both our families are so thankful to have these memories. Lisa's talent goes beyond taking photos-- it's her ability to capture the most perfect moments. She goes out of her way to make sure you are in love with your photos. Our photos look magical and we could not be happier. We would not hesitate to recommend her! Just an incredible person, inside and out!

Lisa, I love you! Ok - I just had to get that out of my system. Lisa was the first photographer that we met and we probably should have stopped right there. I knew I would like her before we even met cause out of the 10 photographers I emailed, she was the first one to email me back and pretty quickly too! When we first met Lisa, she took the time to get to know my husband and I. She asked where and how we met, how did the proposal happen..she genuinely cared and wanted to know and actually took notes! I'm an email kind of gal and Lisa was always prompt with responding to my gazillion emails. The week before the wedding, she met with me at the venue and did a walkthrough of possible locations where we wanted to do pictures. The day of, Lisa was amazing. We had about 40 family and friends pictures and Lisa was really good at telling everyone where to stand. My family and friends are really loud and it was nice having Lisa there to direct. She posted some sneak peek pictures the day after our wedding and the blog post went up on her website about a month afterwards. I'd say that's a pretty quick turn around especially for wedding season!! My husband and I love all the pictures we have seen so far. My family and friends are so impressed by her work. There is a reason that she has such high ratings! And get this, she even gave us a military discount! She was by far my absolute favorite vendor to work with, choose her and you will definitely not be disappointed!!!

Photography was extremely important to my husband and I, so after booking our venue, Lisa was the first vendor we hired. We never looked back! I must've spent hours researching photographers, and I was immediately drawn to Lisa's awesome website and beautiful style. She was super responsive and took the time to sit down with us to hear all about our wedding plans, and we knew almost instantly that she was the photographer for us. Lisa provided photography for our entire wedding day as well as an awesome engagement session, and our photos are incredible. She made our medium-sized, casual outdoor wedding look so upscale and beautiful! Also, her price points were pretty reasonable in my mind, especially for the amazing quality of photography you're getting.

But here's the really great thing about Lisa: she's a funny, easy-going, hip gal who makes you feel totally at ease. I've come across some off-putting wedding photographers who've probably spent way too much time in the Sears portrait studio, but Lisa is the opposite - an awesome lady who you'd love to grab a drink with. Seriously, just hire her!

Lisa is definitely an extremely talented photographer and without doubt the best one you can have to document your big day. But Lisa is much more than that, she is a lovely person and really fun to be around! We hired her to take photos of our tiny wedding, bur she handled it as any other big affair! What was the most important for us is that she made us feel very comfortable and relaxed when she was taking pictures of us and we never felt awkward- not even for a second. She knows how to work with people to bring the best (and the most attractive) out of them. We had a very low key wedding but wanted to have a good photographer and now when we see the pictures we know it was worth it!
Lisa is also extremely inventive and creative, very flexible and a true professional who will be there to beautifully capture your wedding day.

Lisa and her husband did a fabulous job on my wedding photography. From the moment I met her, she was professional, thoughtful and responsive. I couldn't be happier with the service my husband and I received from Lisa Boggs Photography. Originally, Lisa had photographed my friend's wedding and after seeing the photos, I knew I had to have her capture my wedding. We met Lisa for lunch at our venue and my husband and I couldnt get over how down to earth and sweet she was. That day when we met, it was pouring rain and she took the extra time after lunch to walk around the venue (which was a vineyard) to find all the "right" places to photograph during our wedding. She is extremely creative with her work and takes leadership (which you absolutely need on your wedding day) because there's so much going on all at once. Lisa does an excellent job with making sure she captures EVERYTHING! At the end of everything, all you have left are the photos to remember your special day. My pictures are incredible!! This review is loooooooong overdue, so Lisa please forgive me! But what can I say that other brides before me haven't said already? Lisa was absolutely amazing to work with from the moment we met to the wedding day itself. She was always professional, but also so warm and outgoing and welcoming that my then-fiance and I felt like she had always been a part of our circle of friends in DC. She was always open to my ideas and suggestions but also had some great concepts of her own that made for some breathtaking engagement and wedding shots. It is undeniable that Lisa went above and beyond what we contracted. From our engagement shoot (which turned into a fun impromptu shopping trip at Eastern Market), it was hard picking just one shot for our save-the-date! And at our wedding, she captured all the must-have moments plus some great intimate snaps of our family and friends. Looking back on all the wedding planning vendors I met, I would say Lisa was by far my favorite wedding vendor to work with. I remember when I met her initially at a Bridal Expo just one month after I got engaged and although I wasn't looking for a photographer yet, we immediately had a good connection and she said if you are not looking now, let me contact you in a few months and see if you are ready to chat. And sure enough, a few months later I received an email from Lisa; I was impressed that she remembered to email me! Lisa was great from start to finish-our initial consultation was very easy-going and yet Lisa remained professional the whole time. Lisa was easy to work with and responded quickly to all the emails I sent her leading up to the wedding date. I had Lisa take engagement photos of us and they turned out beautiful! I received so many compliments from the engagement photos and wedding photos. Lisa was a trooper on my wedding day since it was rainy and my extended family was not the most cooperative when we were trying to squeeze in family photos into the one hour I had to take photos before the reception started. We also rented the photo booth from her services and everyone loved it at the wedding. Overall I was very pleased with the experience and it was a joy to work with Lisa :) You would be lucky to have her as your wedding photographer!

I'm really not sure where to start, as Lisa is amazing in so many different ways. I found out about her through our DJ (Dan Goldman -- also amazing), and my husband and I immediately fell in love with her work. Little did I know, however, that the quality of her photos would match the quality of her professionalism, responsiveness, value, flexibility, and personality.

Lisa was an absolute pleasure to work with from the start, responding to all of my questions, worries, and general wonderments (yes, wonderments) about the photographing process day-of. For example, I was worried that photographing my eccentric family would be a rather hectic event, but Lisa assured me that she would take care of everything -- and, indeed, she did. She even met with us at our wedding location in advance so to visualize where and how to photograph us, our parties, and our guests most effectively. And when she had me peer behind her camera to see a recently taken photo day-of, I was stunned that the couple I was looking at was actually my husband and me!

So all this to say: If you choose Lisa as your wedding photographer, I promise you will not regret it. Not only will you will leave with some of the most beautiful photos you will EVER see, but you will also leave with the memories of an awesome, super friendly, and stress-reducing wedding vendor. Lisa did a wonderful job with our photos - we got married on a record hot day and had to do almost all of our photos inside - Lisa was able to capture some great shots and even coaxed us into going out in the heat to get some amazing photos. My favorite part is that our ceremony shots convey "moments" and seem to just come alive with feeling. I don't know how she does it, but it's amazing! I was very happy with my experience with Lisa and highly recommend her to other brides!

Lisa was a complete joy to work with! I liked her style so much that I booked her without even meeting her. We did meet at our ceremony site prior to the wedding date to scope out some nearby photo locations. Lisa photographed my wedding in April and she is fabulous! I wanted family portraits and she was able to get everyone together quickly and I got some of the most beautiful family pictures I have ever seen. The formal portraits of my husband and I were breathtaking. I couldn't believe how great we looked. LOL! I had a small wedding so I only had Lisa for 6 hours and I still got nearly 750 pictures in both color and black and white. One of the great things about Lisa is that she gives you the photos on cd's so you own them. This was something that was really important to me. Additionally, she is fast. I got my pictures in about 8 weeks and she posted sneak peeks on her blog so I could see some of my pics within days of the wedding. That was an extra special surprise. Overall I would recommend Lisa to any bride. She is funny, creative, and incredibly talented. You will love your wedding pics!!!

For readers deciding on a photographer, you have come to the right place. My advice is simply to hire Lisa Boggs immediately. Seriously. Do it now.

It's hard for me to adequately convey how amazing she is. She did our engagement photos and wedding photos (for a baraat, Hindu ceremony, Christian ceremony, and reception), and she captured everything perfectly. I especially loved the photos of small details and the candid shots that really captured the emotions of the event.

Her photos speak for themselves, but more importantly, she is an incredibly nice person and fun to be around. I noticed that the other reviewers feel the same way, so I'm happy to add to the chorus of praise! Thank you, Lisa - and thanks from our respective families!

The Short Version: I looked at many photographers in the local area, and even beyond. No one had what I was looking for, that is until I stumbled upon Lisa Boggs photography site. I was STUNNED and knew right away that she had to be my photographer. She was so easy to work with and so responsive. The photos came out SO gorgeous, even more so than I had hoped for. I was totally WOW'ed with the entire experience. I've had several people ask who my photographer was and have gladly passed her info along to everyone. Truly one of the best parts of my wedding was Lisa and her work.

The Long Version: What I wanted for my wedding photos was something beautiful but artsy and fun. I also wanted an editorial/magazine look as well as candid shots. I knew it was a tall order to ask for. I probably looked at over 50 photographer's websites and the only one whose photos who made me stop were Lisa's. I knew immediately that I wanted her to be our photographer, but I played it cool and contacted her. We arranged a meeting, and we talked about her experience as well as what I was looking for. As my now husband and I left, I was actually bouncing up and down outside saying "can we have her?!" and we immediately booked her. She was the second thing we booked (first being the location) and to me was the most important since these photos were going to lifetime memories.

We kept in contact throughout the months, and even went to the ceremony site together to get a good idea of what types spaces would make for great photos. The day of the big event came, and she was great. She worked so well with everyone. She even showed us some of the photos on the camera as we were taking them.

When my photos first came up on her blog post I almost fell out of my chair. I had seen her work, and how great it was, but to see my husband and I looking that great as well. I just couldn't believe it. We looked like we came out of a bridal magazine! You can really tell she comes from an artist’s background as the shots are beautifully composed. I loved every one of the photos. I especially loved the candid shots she got, as those are the moments I love best.

I basically got EVERYTHING I wanted and more out of my wedding photos. We have beautiful posed magazine shots, fun candid shots, family shots, shots of the party. My entire wedding was captured from all angles. I've gotten so many compliments on my wedding photos from those who were there and beyond. Her work truly made me feel like a beautiful princess with my handsome prince on our day. The absolute best decision I made was to hire Lisa. In fact we are going to do a belated "day after" session this fall so I can get some fun fall color photos. I seriously cannot sing her praises enough.

Lisa is amazing!!!!!!!!!! I fell in love with her website and her photography style-- before I even met her, and after I met her, it was like having the 'cherry on top'! I highly recommend her!!!!!!

Her style is creative and she is willing to work with you and your vision. When my husband and I met with her, we sat and talked for over 2 hours -- that's how easy she is to talk to and to get to know. She also was so awesome with all our other vendors!

We also did a photo booth -- oh my gosh -- that was hilarious and so much fun!!!!!! Her husband was in charge of that and it was awesome! The way Lisa and her husband do the photo booth, everyone just enjoys the experience! You will have people going in there and taking the silliest photos (even people you never thought would)!

I also did boudoir photos to give to my husband the day of the wedding -- that was the BEST present ever and Lisa did an amazing job making me feel comfortable and not to mention, she did an amazing job editing the photos and getting them ready in time for the wedding.

Her website is user-friendly and all your guests will have a good time looking through all your photos. Also, Lisa's blog is outstanding! She will write about the event within a week and it was so wonderful seeing that and being able to see a preview from the day (before all the pictures were ready).

AMAZINGLY WONDERFUL! That is Lisa Boggs in a nut shell! We feel so lucky to have found her. Right away we felt comfortable with her easy going yet fun personality. I was introduced to Lisa Boggs Photography when I saw pictures on facebook from a wedding my cousin attended. The photobooth pictures drew me in and after a few minutes on her website and reading reviews on Wedding Wire, my husband and I knew that we had to meet her! Our initial meeting was exactly what we were looking for: laid back, comfortable, and honest. We could tell right away that Lisa is creative, relaxed, and someone who we wanted to work with on our wedding day.

In retrospect, I wish we had done an engagement session and contracted for more hours with the addition of a second shooter (Mike!)because that is the only way our experience with Lisa could have been better - with MORE of her!

Our guests are still raving about the photos and many still have their social media profile pictures emblazoned with Lisa's name. My sister-in-law was married this past weekend and decided to include photos from our wedding in the display at her reception. Her guests loved Lisa's work, too!

I would choose Lisa Boggs again and definitely recommend her to anyone in need of a photographer, whether for a wedding, familiy portraits or even band photos. She rocks!

Lisa was AMAZING! She had great ideas for the pictures we took and was excellent at directing my unruly bridal party! She is super responsive, very helpful and extremely friendly. Everyone at my wedding left talking about how amazing the photos were going to be because of my awesome photographer (some of the brides-to-be were even fighting to get her to photograph their wedding!) Lisa provided one of the most precious memories we will ever have! She made our engagement shoot so much fun, and was willing to do whatever we wanted! She was super flexible and understanding when days after signing our contract I was informed I would be deploying to Afghanistan. Lisa patiently awaited us picking our new date and was easy to keep in contact with; even from half a world away!

On our wedding day I couldn't have asked for a better photographer! She was 'behind the scenes' and able to catch those special moments that we will undoubtedly treasure for a lifetime. Her friendly attitude and ability to work with members of our families and wedding party were true displays of her professionalism and dedication.

Nearly 8 months later, I love when I still come across friends whose Facebook profile pictures are ones taken by Lisa. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lisa Boggs, she is truly one of a kind and I would recommend her to anyone and everyone!

Lisa photographed our wedding in May. We didn't give her a ton of direction (just a handful of "don't" and "must have" shots), and she used her amazing creativity for tons of beautiful photos. In addition to an incredible variety of creative photos that were the perfect blend of traditional and journalistic style, Lisa was so much fun to work with! She had a great attitude all day long - everyone got the feeling that she loves what she does and was happy to be there. She was peppy and fun in directing us during formal family photos. And during the ceremony and reception, she was like a ninja! We didn't notice her moving around at all, but she got the most amazing shots. We got to see a preview of the best shots on her blog within few weeks, and got all our photos a short 8 weeks after the wedding (which, I learned, is relatively fast for wedding photos). We could not have been happier with Lisa - she was such an important part of our special day!

Lisa Boggs is the most energetic, professional, and talented photographer! We were so lucky to have her as our photographer for our engagement pictures and wedding. Friends and family are in awe of the beautiful pictures, and Lisa makes the whole photography process effortless and comfortable . . . a must for two people who aren't that comfortable in front of the camera! For our wedding, Lisa and her husband agreed to a change in date and to travel all the way up to Connecticut after we changed from a local, fall wedding to a spring wedding in Connecticut. Their flexibility was really appreciated! During the wedding itself, Lisa and her husband were discreet, professional, flexible, and fun. They blended right in, and we never once had to worry about whether they were getting the shots we wanted. We knew we could trust them entirely to capture everything perfectly. The photos we've seen so far are just fantastic, and we can't wait to see more. Lisa has a real artistic eye and knows how to capture emotion and joy beautifully. We give her our highest recommendation!

If we could give Lisa 6 stars out of 5, we would! We were instantly drawn to her because of her enthusiastic and friendly personality, and we were always blown away whenever we got photos back! Lisa took our engagement photos, and spent lots of time with us running around Georgetown to get the most artistic and beautiful shots. This past March, Lisa was with us our entire wedding day working really hard to take all the perfect photos. We just got our pictures back a few weeks ago, and they are GORGEOUS. When you pick wedding vendors, you want people who do a great job and who are also fun to be around... you spend a lot of time with your photographer on this most important day! Lisa is fantastic! She has such a great eye for photography and knows what are going to be good shots. She is so easy to work with and extremely nice! Everyone at the wedding loved her and we truly enjoyed working with her and having her as our photographer. I love that she gave us the pictures on CD in both color and also black/white. I was lucky to find Lisa through one of our mutual friends who knew I was searching for a photographer with an artistic edge in a reasonable price range. Lisa exceeded all of my expectations. She’s extremely responsive and professional, was punctual, and the photos she took arrived exactly as scheduled. Most importantly for me, Lisa is someone who I felt comfortable having with me on the big day. All of my family and guests commented that she managed to take incredible shots without being bossy or intrusive. She and her husband, Mike, blended in so well with the rest of the wedding party and guests that we almost forgot that they were there, and the pictures, particularly of our reception looked natural and candid. My husband and I are thrilled with the pictures from our wedding and look forward to enjoying them for years to come.

Lisa's photographs are the most beautiful I have ever seen. I usually hate any photograph of myself...but when i got my wedding sneak peek, i couldn't decide on which one i loved more!! I felt like a princess that day and Lisa caught that on film! I had many guests ask me who my photographer was. Their comments included :"she was so professional, very quite, and I had no clue she was even there," and " she had a wonderful presence about her...you could tell she is passionate about her job". I would recommend Lisa Boggs (and her wonderful second photographer, Mike Boggs) to anyone!!! It is worth every penny spent! :)

We are so thrilled with the photos of our wedding and rehearsal dinner--Lisa really captured the essence of the day for us--and picked up every detail you could imagine. Whenever we look at them, it takes us back to how we felt on that day. She and Brandy were both so generous with their time and patient with all of us during the formal shots--we were able to get everything we wanted in very little time at all. Choosing Lisa as our wedding photographer was a no-brainer for us, and we are so, so happy with the final product! Pre-wedding, I found Lisa to be easy to reach and super organized; her info packet was a godsend in trying to determine what photos couples typically take and what we should consider. We wanted to take our formal shots pre-ceremony, so Lisa proposed a timeline and then was able to take all of the photos we wanted (and then some) in what seemed like no time at all. She also managed to capture so many of the little details of our wedding day that I never even noticed, and loved reliving. She then presented us four discs of our photos (in addition to posting them all online, and some highlights on Facebook and her blog), so that we can view, print, and share them as we please. She was definitely worth every penny, and I highly recommend her for your wedding day!

Lisa's work is superlative. She photographed our small-medium outdoor wedding and reception and handled the inclement weather with poise and professionalism. She also accommodated our special request for an overhead group photo and went above and beyond to make sure it happened.

During the wedding and reception, she was skilled at being unobtrusive to get great candid shots. During the portraits (in the rain!) she directed people well so that a minimum of time was spent waiting. Lisa is a consummate professional and great at her job. Her friendly and calm demeanor really helped during a stressful day.

We are very pleased with the candid and portrait photos from the day and are looking forward to creating albums that will last a lifetime.

I love our photos! Lisa and Mike did an excellent job capturing the candid, posed, and little detail shots that made up our whole day. I found Lisa to be especially good at coming up with ways to make posed shots look lively and full of personality. Working with Lisa—on the day of our wedding as well as in all the pre- and post-event communication—was a breeze. I love that she posted a selection of photos on her blog and Facebook page, which made it very easy to share them far and wide. I would recommend Lisa to anyone of my friends and family. She's great at capturing all those special moments and details that you want to remember. After a consultation, it was clear to me that she understood what I wanted from the photos and was able to deliver. My pictures were the most important element of my wedding for me, and they came out beautifully. The pictures have life in them. The formal pictures even had spunk instead of being typical posed pictures. I will definitely be reaching out to Lisa in the future for any professional photo needs.
