Best DJ in the business

We didn’t expect to find a world-class DJ on the island of Maui, but Liam is IT. We really wanted to avoid the “cheesy wedding DJ” but had a hard time finding someone who fit our vibe without flying someone in. Then we found Liam, and he was everything we hoped for and more. Many of our guests are very into music, and one of them remarked that he felt like he was at an exclusive club in Ibiza during Liam’s set at our Olowalu wedding. His sound system is top of the line, and the highlight of our dance party was him rocking out with his drums to our favorite songs. He was able to create an amazing energy for all our guests. He is also the consummate professional—he went above and beyond to stream in a speech from someone who couldn’t attend the wedding, gave us guidance on transitioning between events, and putting my father (who was officiating our Indian ceremony) at total ease. Liam is also just a very cool person and so fun to work with on our wedding day. Even though Maui is the center of the worldwide wedding industrial complex, Liam is far from corporate—he genuinely loves music, cares about you, and is dedicated to giving you an incredible experience. We would hire Liam again in a heartbeat!

Best wedding soundtrack ever!

Liam was the best DJ for our destination wedding! Music is incredibly important to my husband and I, and Liam had everyone dancing all night long, there was truly never a moment when the dance floor was empty. He traveled to Puerto Vallarta and learned about our music preferences, keeping the vibe going exactly as we'd hoped. He even worked closely with our wedding planner to coordinate the perfect timing for our fireworks to go off during one of our favorite songs. Liam was an absolutely joy to work with and I strongly recommend him to anyone planning a wedding!

Excellent!

Liam was the perfect DJ for my daughter's wedding at Waimea Valley, Oahu. He seamlessly provided the perfect music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and then dancing. It was a beautiful wedding from beginning to end, much because of his talent as a laid-back, yet on the ball, DJ. Highly recommend!

If you’re looking to hire a DJ for your wedding, stop because you just found him!

My wife and I got married at the Catamount in Steamboat Springs, CO September of 2018. We selected Liam to play the music for the ceremony and DJ the reception. We were extremely happy with the service Liam provided for our most special day! Liam’s professionalism started well before the day of the wedding. He contacted us via email and gave us a form that covered every aspect of the music we desired for the ceremony and reception. About a month before the wedding, Liam contacted us via FaceTime (Liam was out of state at the time and we live in the Denver area) and had a good conversation with us detailing exactly what we wanted.

On the day of the ceremony, Liam arrived on time and was dressed well for the event. He played exactly what we wanted for the ceremony and his system sounded perfect! For the reception, he kept the party going strong and everyone had a blast! We got many comments from our guest on how much they loved Liam. I highly recommend hiring Liam for your wedding or big event! He is very professional, fun and good at what he does as a DJ. I promise you will not regret hiring him!

Liam was our DJ for our wedding & I can't recommend him enough! He was professional, prompt, responsive, and most importantly, he got the party going! He has an eclectic taste in music, so if you're looking for a musical selection a little less conventional than your average wedding- he's definitely the man! However, he'll cater the playlist to whatever you select, so no worries if you're just looking for a more traditional music set with a really fun, genuine wedding emcee. Would recommend him to anyone looking to have an inspiring music set to dance to!

More than just a DJ, Liam is the whole package! There was not one part of the ceremony that he did no make better!! From mic-ing the Officiant and musicians, to creating a slideshow, Liam became our first hand man. And those beats. I don't know how he made my conservative uncle and my burning man friends happy at the same time, but the man has class and funk. Thanks for starting the dance party Liam, and keeping it going alll night long. Everyone kept telling us it was the best wedding ever, and I think it was because of you. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!

If you are thinking about getting married, Liam Grist is an amazing DJ, great person and excellent business man. His great taste, style, and ability to read a room make a good reception into a phenomenal one. He's easy to talk to, open to last minute changes, and just the man to take care of our receptions music. From the beginning, face-timing with Liam, until the very end of our wedding we couldn't have hoped for a better DJ. He was very communicative, had great planning and payment tools, needed little in respect to set-up and space, was punctual, announced events eloquently, and oval had a great playlist (including some of our unordinary song requests and "do not play" requests) with good transition and poise. By the end we both were hugging him and wishing the night was longer. My elderly dad even mentioned several times that the music and the announcements were really good, and his tastes are limited. Everyone at the wedding, at all age demographics, were dancing at eh reception, having a great time. I highly recommend Liam to DJ at any event, I would absolutely ask him to join my next one1

We booked Liam for our April 2017 wedding on the Big Island at Kahua Ranch. He was amazing! Liam was incredibly responsive, had a flat rate with no additional costs, read the room perfectly, and provided awesome music for the dinner and reception. He had great energy, but didn’t steal the show like DJs can do. We cannot recommend Liam highly enough.

Liam was fantastic to work with! He met with me over the phone several times before the wedding, which helped with planning. He also did a great job communicating with our ceremony musicians, the caterers, and the photographers to make our day run super smoothly. Liam created a really fun atmosphere both during dinner and dancing! He was able to use the songs I had chosen on our playlist and mix in other songs that matched the mood and our tastes perfectly. Everyone was out on the dance floor and having a great time! We would definitely recommend him!

First off, for a pretty young guy, Liam is more professional than almost anyone I've met on Maui. His Google Docs form helps you get every detail nailed down exactly how you want it. He was always willing to hop on a call and very responsive to emails. He threw a crazy awesome wedding reception party for us that we'll always remember. He accommodated last-minute changes, made announcements, and played awesome music with a big smile on his face. HIGHLY recommend Liam!

DJ Liam has a great sense of a crowd! My husband and I were super busy, and outside the specific song we needed for specific times, we didn't give a playlist and Liam picked an AMAZING set that matched the mood of the guests, kept people dancing, and matched the feel of the other songs we used and the venue.

We hired Liam for our wedding in April at the Olowalu Plantation House. He was awesome! He was very responsive to our emails and all of our requests. Planning a destination wedding can be stressful but working with Liam was a breeze, he had many handy online forms that helped us plan our wedding playlist. He attended our rehearsal and hit every cue during our ceremony and kept the dance floor full all night at the reception. We are very happy we booked DJ Liam for our wedding!

Stacey and I booked Liam for a weeding in Maui on New Years Eve, 2015. Liam was incredible! Liam is really easy to work with, very responsive and was great in customizing a playlist for our wedding. I can't say enough good things about Liam. It's clear that Liam understood the importance of this day to both of us and was really open to working with us on making the music/entertainment exactly the right vibe for our people. Liam and Samantha were the highlight of our wedding vendors. Super fun and helpful. Our guests were raving about the music as soon as cocktail hour started! We couldn't have asked for a better DJ & MC! My now husband and I had our wedding on October 3rd, and although excited, we were lost when it came to music. Liam gave direction and suggestions that helped make the night perfect. We had a mostly non-dancing crowd, but the music and mood was perfectly suited and fun for those in attendance!

We loved that Liam was a part of our special day! We interviewed several DJ companies but liked Liam's style most. He and Samantha were easy and fun to work with... and adorable :) Liam wowed our guests with the "best dance party music ever". He was entertaining... but not overbearing. Professional... but fun. He has a Bose sound system. If you know how important music is and are willing to spend maybe a little more, GO FOR LIAM!!! He's worth it. Thank you Liam!

Liam was fantastic! His partner Sam was also attentive and very helpful throughout the day. We are so happy to have picked them to make our wedding fun! DJ Liam Grist helped create a truly unforgettable night for us and our guests at our wedding at the Andaz Maui on August 15, 2015! Throughout the planning process DJ Liam Grist was extremely responsive and helpful, and his planning website was easy to use. In fact, his detailed planning form actually got us thinking of important details that we hadn't yet contemplated.

DJ Liam Grist had clearly taken notes during our conversations and thoroughly reviewed our planning form because the night proceeded seamlessly and effortlessly, and his music selections were strategic and thoughtful.

DJ Liam Grist kept our guests on the dance-floor all night, entertained all reasonable requests and faithfully respected our "don't play" list. Everyone hoped the night could go on forever, and were sad to leave the dance-floor when the party ended.

Indeed, even hotel staff approached me the following day to thank me for the great music!

Stop your search. You have just found your next DJ. Liam is the best DJ that I have ever heard or worked with, and I don't mean that lightly. Not only does he make the entire night sensational, but he is very organized and professional on the business side. My husband and I never felt out of the loop or confused about any step of the process. Liam was thorough, kind, and flexible with last-minute changes. Thank you, Liam!

DJ Liam was great. Responded to all my inquiries in a timely manner. My wife and I had a short phone conference with him in order for him to get to know us a little. He's overall a very personable guy. It was very last minute, but he was able to take over right away when the musician's time was up. It was ahead of the time that was agreed upon, but he agreed to doing it without any problems. If I have the opportunity, I would definitely use him again!!

There are people in this world who are extraordinarily good at what they do in this world, and Liam Grist is one of them. We trusted him with the music for our wedding based off a recommendation from our coordinator and his outstanding reviews. Our big crazy day on the North Shore of Oahu was made simply fun and enjoyable by Liam and we are so glad to have brought him out! Specifically he provided our ceremony audio and reception DJ and emcee services. We were happy to find that the wireless uplighting for our reception was already included in the package. Liam Grist was great! He was so easy to work with. My husband and I tend to be "too laid back" and had a hard time making a decision about a specific playlist. We told Liam genres we liked and what kind of atmosphere we wanted for our reception and he truly delivered! Our wedding had friends and family of all ages and everyone enjoyed the music! Planning a destination wedding in Hawaii from Japan was no easy feat. If you are tied between DJ services or not sure who to book, I will say over and over again, Liam Grist is your guy!!! I initially chose him because his website was super user friendly (I'm not exactly technologically savvy!), he was really organized & informative and he totally worked with my budget. Our first encounter was over facetime and I was so impressed by him! He is fun, yet professional, definitely knows his trade and he has the skills to make your wedding truly unforgettable. We held a small renewal at the Olowalu Plantation House with some very special personal touches and Liam was able to execute & deliver every special detail. One of my bridesmaids could not make it due to having a baby so she wrote and sang a very special song for us. Liam and my maid of honor worked together in secret and played this during our ceremony-- it was a total surprise and blew me out the water!! We also performed a flashmob to Thriller in the middle of our couple's dance, without Liam we could not have pulled this one off. We don't listen to a lot of mainstream music, don't enjoy hiphop or country, we're very picky, island/reggae/mellow music lovers and he was able to gather all this info and create the perfect playlist completely personalized to us. Our guests were raving about our wedding playlist. Just a few email interactions with Liam and he was able to reflect us and portray our love through music. Everyone was commenting about it. Liam has been doing this for many years and it shows. He will go above and beyond to make your day truly special-- I know this, because he did it for me. There should be an option for another star because he deserves 6.0/5.0. After the event, he was even kind enough to thank us for choosing him and provided us with our music playlist, ceremony audio and a video of our flashmob-- just because! I was really impressed!! He even cut us a military discount to say “thanks”!

We looked at several DJs and went with Liam mostly because he sounded like a fun, genuinely friendly, helpful guy. He proved to be that and so much more. His attitude about everything from the planning through getting the party started was an absolutely essential part of our happiness on our wedding day. Everything was so smooth and we really appreciated how relaxed and comfortable he made us and our guests feel. He was easy and professional. The music was a perfect selection of our choices and his fill-ins. He made our reception entrance fun and swiftly handled the rest. We barely left the dance floor and our guests are still talking about how good the music/dancing was. He even wore the tie and all I wanted! We love having the music from our wedding to listen to on a CD he mailed to us. 100% recommended to any couple as he seemed so able to listen to our ideas and make it all work in a easy and fun way. Liam was excellent. Not only was he a fantastic DJ, but he was there to help me out and answer any other questions I had. I was a DIY, plan by yourself bride and his suggestions really helped the wedding come together. We first saw videos of Liam's work, after our wedding planners told us he was the best, and Liam's parties were flawlessly executed, beautifully mc'd, and everyone looked like they were having a great time on their dance floors. So we were very comfortable going with Liam. We had a video conference with him (since we live in LA) and had something different, than the traditional wedding, in mind for our wedding. We wanted it upbeat and mellow during dinner and then very up-to-date, current dance music in a "club"-like fashion for dancing. No slow songs, just good songs to make it feel like an LA nightclub. Well I had no idea how well he was going to execute it. Not only is he EXTREMELY TALENTED at mixing, he played every song on our request list, keep the floor dancing all night, and even took requests from our drunken friends. All-in-all he was truly and honestly the best DJ I have ever had and I feel blessed to have had him grace our party with his presence and talent.

Liam did a fantastic job at our wedding reception. It was more amazing than we had imagined and his music absolutely made the party!

Liam is an AWESOME DJ! He makes everything available for you online, so it is super easy to stay in contact and update song list requests, ask questions, etc. He worked very well with the musicians and other vendors I had hired and he is very easy to get along with and talk to. I really didn't know what music I wanted, but I described it well enough for him to take my ideas and run with it. Great guy!

If you are looking for a DJ look no further. Liam is the best wedding DJ I have ever seen. He made our Jan. 2 2014 wedding in Oahu, a night none of our guests will ever forget. He went above and beyond to make it the perfect night. When rain threatened to derail our dancing, Liam's attitude and fabulous music kept everyone on the dance floor in the rain, for the entire night. Many of my guests commented that he was the best wedding DJ that had heard and the music he played was perfect. Liam also helped us during the ceremony by providing microphones and sound systems for our ukelele player.

Liam was also incredibly easy to work with prior to the wedding. All his payments and contracts were digital, which made it easier for us. He has an extensive website where you can fill in all you musical preferences, info for his MC services and (fun) dress my DJ to make sure he is wearing the right clothing. We could not have been happier with out choice. He was so professional, fun and reasonably priced. You will have a perfect night if you hire Liam Grist.

Liam did an amazing job DJ-ing our wedding!! He kept our guests dancing all night, and played a great variety of music - oldies, current hits, Latin music - everything we wanted. I really was impressed with the way he was able to work with both the songs on our list and his own songs to make it a great dance party!

OMG! Liam was fun and very responsive throughout our planning. We did a video chat that was helpful and he just brought energy to the wedding. He also gives us recordings of the songs, toasts, and ceremony which was a nice plus.

Hands down the BEST DJ in town! I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone. His set up is beautiful and his energy is great! From the ceremony to the reception the music was perfect. We short listed two island Dj's and while the other one could mix and scratch live (which we enjoy on a regular basis) we completely preffered Liam's style. Coming from Canada it was a little stressful trying to organize a destination wedding, but Liam smoothed that right out. From the initial contact he was fantastic! Skype calls, song lists, and amazing communication with plenty of emails. Liam put together a timeline for the wedding which really helped out knowing when speeches would happen, or what to do for the cake cut and such. The services provided by Liam were top notch and I would recommend him to anyone coming to the island. We were running short on our time, and Liam was flexible to stay if necessary, so we paid for an extra hour of music. Everyone was having too much fun. Two things I want to point out:
1. He kept the dance floor full!!! We had a big mix of age, and music selection. Liam knew how to keep the vibe going.
2. He did an incredible job getting all the songs we wanted played.

"Mil Gratis" is 1) Latin for "extra mile" and 2) an anagram for the one and only Liam Grist. This is no coincidence - MC LG will go that extra mile for you. How so? The proof is in the pudding:

1. He was the most responsive of all our vendors, which helped reduce the stress of a destination wedding. We knew from the start that the DJ/MC was something we wouldn't have to worry about.
2. He set up phone interviews so we could talk in person and helped us plan the entertainment element of our wedding.
3. His website has cloud-based forms for entering in music and wedding info, which was helpful (and pretty slick). Through this website we could also choose his attire - nice touch.
4. He took the short song list we provided and filled in the rest of the set seamlessly.
5. He set the perfect mood for the reception. Many of our guests said it was the most fun they ever had at a wedding, and Liam was a big part of that.
6. He follows the 3 sacred D's of the DJ - do your job, dial your knobs and don't play prog. OK I made that up.
7. He was professional and friendly to our guests and is generally an all-around great guy.

Our family and friends had so much fun on our Valentine’s Day wedding with Liam Grist as our DJ and MC. He was so enjoyable to work with and so professional. Planning a Maui destination wedding from Canada was made easier by professionals like Liam. Out of our 8 core vendors, Liam definitely ranks in the top 2. From my initial email, Liam was a consistently reliable communicator via email and/ or phone- he never missed an email or a phone call. He is professional, fun, pleasant and he truly puts 110% into making your wedding special and memorable. Liam is very willing to work with you to personalize your wedding: He was instrumental in creating our personalized "brother & sister remix dance mix".

Liam truly takes advantage of today's modern communication platforms: His website is very informative with many options for lighting, video, projection, etc. We really liked the option of loading our favorite reception and cocktail music selections into our account- it was so easy!

As a DJ and MC, Liam was pleasant, friendly and was able to read the crowd so well- I think being able to read a crowd of guests is really essential at a wedding esp. to keep people dancing, engaged and interested without being overbearing. Liam is very personable, friendly and brings the right amount of energy to your wedding reception.

Liam was great throughout the planning process providing such personal attention to us. He asked great questions and video chatted with us twice! I also know Liam spent plenty of time preparing as it was very apparent in the execution and was much appreciated.

The ceremony music timing was perfect. He provided wireless mics. The dancefloor lighting wasn't too crazy or cheesy - more modern. He was great with the mic and made Mark and I feel like the world revolved around our story. The introductions were definitely a highlight – our guests LOVED them! We also had guests of all ages and backgrounds which Liam mixed really well with. He's friendly, organized, and easy. I know our coordinator liked him too.

Need to ensure the success of your party? Hire Liam Grist. I was hesitant to have a karaoke party for our rehearsal dinner, as I was not sure people would sing! Our group of almost 100 people was very diverse; all ages and even speaking different languages. Liam arrived on time, looking great, set up quickly, started interacting with young and old, and soon had everyone dancing--and even singing in front of close family and near strangers. I hired Liam for my daughter's wedding knowing that the bride and groom had specific tastes in music. Liam did an outstanding job of listening to their likes and dislikes, and easily accommodated the father of the bride who wanted a compilation which Liam put together brilliantly. When the music started so did the party: great job all round. Loved the extras that he has available: mic, CD, what he should wear etc.

Liam did an amazing job at our wedding and was great to work with! Leading up to the wedding he was very helpful putting together a schedule, his website was easy to use, he had games ideas if we wanted them, and he was very responsive to out emails. He also put together an awesome wedding party intro song by editing a song of our choice. During the wedding, I think he was able to read the crowd well and picked a good variety of music. I was a little nervous when he started with a club song right off the bat, but people went straight to the dance floor. He switched it up a lot and the floor was packed all night with friends and family of all ages! And after the wedding he sent us a copy of all the music from the wedding. I don't think we could have picked a better DJ!

Liam was the best DJ ever. He started the party and kept it going all the way until the venue closed. It was a rocking party. Every one was dancing! So many wedding guests came up to me and said that it was the most fun that they had ever had at a wedding reception...I give Liam props for this. No one left the dance floor! The party never stopped. He also DJ'ed at our rehearsal dinner, which too was a fabulous party. We sang karaoke! In addition, he was very professional and techno-savy. Liam did such a great job with our wedding & we are so glad that we booked him. All of our 23 guests (ranging in ages from 2 months - 75) told us so many times how much they enjoyed all of the music and how they thought Liam did such a great job! He really played a variation of music that made everybody at our wedding feel like they were a part of it, which is exactly what we wanted. Liam was also really great during the planning process...he was really prompt with returning emails and he was also very willing to skype and have conference calls with us. He also has such a great online system that it made it really easy for us to add songs when we thought of them and then save it and come back to it later...rather than having to sit down at one time and complete all of our music requests and preferences at once, which was really perfect for us.

Liam made our wedding reception so much fun!!! He set the mood PERFECTLY from cocktail hour to dinner, to traditional wedding activities, and (best of all) dancing until our venue closed. His music selections were a spot-on mix of our tastes and those of our guests, which were wide-ranging, and his professionalism on the mic really impressed my father and father-in-law. Our wedding took place on September 18th, so I have very vivid and fresh memories of it. DJ Liam made this day extra special. The music he played was just perfect for all of our guests. He went above and beyond of what we agreed on. He came early and was extremely prepared. The lightning he set up for us was awesome. It was beautiful and complimented our venue so well.
