Club 86 has been used by my husbands family for 3 generations so it was our first choice and we were thrilled with our decision. All our guests have told us how much food there was for them and how good it was. They were very helpful and flexible with our rehearsal. My only complaint was that I didn't always hear back when I left messages but I heard it was a phone issue :)

I cannot recommend Lori Legott. I have never been so disappointed and frustrated with a vendor. I had a horrible experience. Just a few days prior to a wedding, I had to find a new cake baker and decorator because Lori stated she could no longer do what she had promised. She caused a lot of unneeded stress and frustration due to her lack of follow-through, lack of communication, and lack of professionalism. These are things a bride and groom should never have to experience just prior to their wedding.

I know that things come up that just can't be helped, but with Lori it was just one thing after another.

I was ordering the cake for my brother and now sister-in-law. They are from out of town, but decided to come back to the area to have their wedding. To ease their stress, I took care of the cake.

Many months prior to the wedding, a first consult was scheduled with Lori. The intent of the meeting was to meet with Lori, taste-test the cakes, and discuss how the cake should be designed. When we arrived, Lori was not there. Did she forget? I don't know. Per the employee, the appointment was on the books. An employee had to call her to remind her of the meeting. She showed up an hour later. Additionally, there were no cake samples ready for us to test. An employee found one flavor of cake for us to test while we waited that hour for Lori to arrive. When Lori did finally show, there was no apology. I should have left and cut my losses then. However, I realize miscommunications and mistakes within a small business can happen. I gave the business the benefit of the doubt.

During the consult, I gave Lori a picture of the cake the bride wanted duplicated. It was a fondant cake with lace sugar work and a sugar bow. Lori stated that she could schedule a final meeting with the bride and groom upon their arrival in town. She said she would be able to create anything we envisioned. This was not true.

Getting to the final consult was also a frustrating process. We had scheduled an appointment for the Monday prior to the Saturday wedding. The appointment had been set far in advance. I contacted Lori to confirm the appointment a week prior. Lori responded that she was out of town until that Wednesday evening. Here was the problem with that.....if I hadn't contacted Lori, I never would have known that she was not in town and would have made a wasted trip. I expressed concern about having a final consult just a few days prior to the wedding. Lori stated that it was not a problem and she would have plenty of time to make the cake desired. This was not true.

So we finally make another trip to Geneva a few days prior to the wedding. The one cake that the bride and groom wanted and had waited months to sample was red velvet. I specifically requested that red velvet be available on our final consult. But it wasn’t there; one of the employees had eaten it. Lori was also late, once again. So, again more miscommunication and lack of samples.

Upon the final consult, Lori asked the bride what cake design she wanted. We gave Lori the same picture shown to her months prior. This is the same picture which should have been in Lori's files. Lori unapologetically stated, 'I don't work with fondant'. 'I don't work with sugar'. We were shocked. Not at any point did Lori state she couldn't create the design we showed her months ago. The bride wanted a fondant cake with sugar work. If Lori had stated she did not work with fondant, we would have moved on to another baker.

I can't fault Lori or this business for not having the skill to create the cake we wanted. However, she should have communicated this fact and been honest with us from the beginning.

Lori provided the bride with her book of cakes. Lori stated we could pick a style and she would make it. The cakes were very basic and many were extremely dated. They were not skillful in design, but rather more homemade in appearance. The bride was not happy, but selected a plain three-tier cake with three or four orchids. Lori stated – ‘I can't do that one. We don't have the time.’ The bride picked another cake. Lori replied again – ‘I can't do that one. I don't have the time.’ Finally, the maid of honor (MOH) flatly said to Lori - "do you even bake cakes here." Thankfully, the MOH brought some humor into the situation. We had a bride in tears, the groom was so frustrated he had to walk outside, and myself and the MOH were furious. If Lori had kept the original appointment on Monday, would she have been able to make the cakes represented in her own book? I don't know. I still can't believe what we went through.

I do have to say the taste of the signature strawberry cake was very good. I had previously tasted it and this was the reason we pursued this frustrating ordeal.

We ended up finding another baker, 3.5 hours away from my home. We wasted an entire day to try to ensure the bride and groom would have a cake on their wedding day. The cake we did end up with was not ideal. But, honestly, a few days prior to a wedding, you get what’s available. We would have definitely gone with a different vendor had Lori had been honest with us from the beginning.

In a few years, I hope we will all look back at this an laugh. This is the only thing that went wrong with the wedding, which is a plus. Sadly, it was a huge frustration. I am still in shock that this actually happened and a business operates in this manner.

•Quality of Service - 0/5. There was no customer service. There was no communication. Lori was an hour late to our first meeting and late to the second as well. It's a very oddly run business.

•Value - The prices were low and signature strawberry cake is delicious. The value for design quality is 0, however.

Lori was a real pleasure to work with. She was easy going from the start, and once we picked out the cake design we wanted for our wedding from the pictures on the Club 86 website, there was little for us to really do but pick out the flavors! And boy, did we have a hard time narrowing it down because Club 86 can make just about any flavor you want out there. We booked Club 86 because it has a fantastic reputation around the area for making the best fruit-filled wedding cakes (several people recommended them to us), and it was definitely true. Just the right consistency and lots of fruit in it! Our guests loved it. Strawberry was delicious - the classic - and then we innovated with two additional flavors - first, a couple mango peach layers, and second, chocolate hazelnut. Yum! Lori did a great job. The cake itself was, on the outside, absolutely GORGEOUS. Truly a one-of-a-kind cake that I hadn't seen anywhere else and fell in love with when I first saw it on her website. And she worked directly with our florist to ensure that the florist could order just the right kind of flowers in the right amount to make the cake pop even more - that made the wedding day much more stress-free, not to worry about things like that.

Thank you Lori for making our wedding cake and whole experience so lovely. I would definitely recommend her and Club 86 for any events or catering needs you might have!

We did both our cake and food through Club 86. It was so easy and took such little time to plan. They were both extremely effiicient. I was actually worried that it meant that everything was not truly taken care of, but it was to perfection. The catering was delivered, and on time with no fuss or problems. Everyone is still raving about how delicious everything was and was so clearly pleasantly suprpised given it was an outside reception, food remained hot and the cake stayed perfect.

My son Jay and his bride Lisa who was from Maine decided to get married ind our hometown Geneva. Lisa decided to have both the shower and wedding through club 86.I must say I had very high expectations,and all were met and exceeded by far.i obviously wanted everything PERFECT for our son and daughter-in law and they made it happen. One thing I was so impressed with was the way Bill and Lori Legott helped me with decisions when I was unsure.( I'm sure their years experience helped).

For my wedding cake I wanted a cupcake cake and then a small cake for us to cut. The baker was willing to work with me on the colors of the cupcakes. I was a little disappointed that she would only frost the cupcakes and would not decorate them. The little cake came out nicely, but the cupcakes looked plain. Overall, the product was alright and I would recommend Clib 86 to other brides if they did not want cupcake cakes.

Our cake was delicious! Every guest enjoyed it, and we all thought it was beautiful. The owner of the store worked with us prior to the event, and was extremely flexible and easygoing. For example, she met with us during Memorial Day weekend because it worked best for our travel schedule. She even gave us cost cutting recommendations, which improved the quality of the cake. Legott's Club 86 truly made our vision come alive and for an excellent price.

Club 86 does a great job! The food is always outstanding and their cakes are amazing. We had a chocolate cake with chocolate filling... the best!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE! Food is amazing, workers are detail oriented and wonderful. I will recommend this place to anyone. My only advice is to trust what the owner Billy can do, they do an amazing job.

I was on the fence about getting a wedding cake, but called Lori at Club 86 at the suggestion of my venue menager and am so glad that I hired her. She suggested three smaller cakes, presented on separate tier stands, along with Italian cookies, cream puffs, and chocolate covered strawberries -- a panoply of sweets that offered choices for all but still gave us a beautiful cake to highlight. We discussed ideas over the phone and never managed to meet in person (I was coming in from out of town), yet she managed to produce exactly what I wanted for cakes and worked with the florist to ensure that the presentation was perfect. Her prices were extremely reasonably and I couldn't have been happier with the end result.

Bill, Lori, and their staff were a pleasure to work with. They catered our wedding off-site, and made everything easy. After speaking to numerous caterers, we finally felt like we'd found someone who could give us what we wanted for a fair price, and in a professional manner. They have a wonderful reputation around our town, and we see now that it is for a good reason. Everything was well-planned, well-prepared, and ran smoothly.

Club 86 was an absolute pleasure to work with. Lori set up a meeting with us and allowed us to sample the different cake options separate from her (so as not to influence us). We chose an option (she was completely flexible). We opted to pick up the cake on the day of our wedding to forgo the delivery fee. Everyone was thrilled by the cake, particularly me, given the price.

Brides: be sure you return the stand for the cake, they refund you $15 of the price (we forgot to do this :()

This cake was so delicious! We had the strawberry shortcake type cake with the whipped cream icing and our guests loved it. THe only issue I had with this vendor is that Lori is nearly impossible to get a hold of. there were moments where I wasn't sure if I was really signed up with her to do my cake - but it all worked out in the end. We can't wait to eat the rest of it on our anniversary!

GREAT Service!!! I highly recommend Club 86! They were very flexible with what we wanted in every aspect from food to music to decor. Excellent value for the services provided.
