More Than a Bridal Shop — A Full Circle Experience

There are some places that are so much more than just a store — and Julie Allen Bridals is one of them. I grew up coming here, so when it came time to find my wedding dress, I knew there was only one place I wanted to go. I flew all the way from South Carolina to Connecticut because I couldn’t imagine saying “yes” anywhere else.

From the second you walk through the doors, they make you feel like family. The entire experience is so personal, special, and unforgettable. They don’t just help you find a dress — they create a memory you’ll cherish forever.

Erica was absolutely incredible throughout the entire process. She truly listened to my vision, understood exactly what I was looking for, and helped me find the perfect gowns. She made my ideas come to life in a way that felt effortless and completely me.

Melanie went above and beyond helping customize my gown and turn it into something even more special than I could have imagined. The attention to detail, creativity, and care that went into making it perfect is something I will never forget.

The fitting and alterations experience was just as amazing. Cassie is truly so talented, and having her alter my wedding gown was such a full-circle moment because she also altered my mom’s wedding dress over twenty years ago. The care, precision, and love she puts into her work is unmatched.

Thank you, Julie Allen Bridals, for being part of such a special chapter in my life and for making a moment I dreamed about forever even better than I imagined. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Julie Allen Bridals and the incredible team there. From the moment I walked in, I felt so supported, cared for, and truly listened to. The women here are beyond talented and genuinely passionate about what they do.

We started with a simple, traditional dress and, with the help of Carmen (their amazing seamstress), transformed it into an absolute masterpiece. We added intricate lace to the slit, created beautiful removable lace sleeves, and incorporated subtle lace appliqués along the seams that tied everything together perfectly. The final result was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.

If you’re looking for a bridal shop where you’ll feel taken care of and leave with something truly special, this is the place. I would 100% recommend them to any bride, mother of the bride or groom, bridesmaid, or wedding guest!

The Perfect Bridal Gown, A Trip Worth Taking!

The Wilderly Collection by Allure is the reason my daughter and I made the 2-hour trip to Julie Allen Bridals in Newtown, CT from Long Island! This was the only salon in a fifty mile radius that carried this collection. It was one year before the wedding.
We arrived at the salon a little early and were warmly greeted by the owner Melanie who, after a brief wait, brought us to a charming fitting room with floor to ceiling mirrors. Melanie herself started bringing in dresses from the Wilderly collection and from other designer collections that were comparable to the style my daughter liked in the Wilderly collection. Erica, our bridal consultant joined us and took over bringing in a wide variety of designers. Both women were able to tune into exactly what my daughter desired!
About fifteen dresses and 2 hours later my daughter tried on The Dress (which ironically was not of the Wilderly collection, but Justin Alexander). We both knew it at once! Then Erica brought in a veil which just completed the Look! It was a Moment.
The process going forward was simple and went smoothly. We paid a very reasonable fee to store the dress on premises when it arrived and until it was ready to come home with us.
Two months before the wedding my daughter had her first of three fittings. Yupo, her seamstress, listened to the alteration requests that my daughter wanted in order to make the dress more her own. Yupo's sewing expertise seemed to magically transform the dress to that vision. After the third alteration and final fitting, JAB steamed the dress and it was finally ready to come home!
Working with Melanie and the rest of Julie Allen Bridals staff was an experience that exceeded our expectations. The service was truly exceptional. My daughter looked stunningly beautiful in the dress on the day of her wedding and we both highly recommend Julie Allen Bridals in Newtown, CT! It was more than worth the trip!

Dress of my dreams

Julie Allen was so helpful in helping me find my dress. I had found a dress they didn’t carry and they were able to order it for me and do all of the alterations in house! Alterations were affordable and seamless. Thank you so much for making my dream come true!!

Julie Allen Bridals, by far, exceeded the service, quality, and value of all the boutiques I visited in Fairfield County. From my first appointment trying on dresses to my final fitting, April, Melanie, and every customer service rep I encountered were so friendly, helpful, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I found my top 3 favorite dresses here and they also happened to be the most affordable dresses I tried on in all 4 boutiques I visited. Where to begin! Simply the best!

From start to finish, Julie Allen Bridals was absolutely amazing! From picking out my perfect dress to making sure it was a perfect fit, every single staff member was a pleasure to work with. I went in with a vision of what I thought I wanted, but after a few dresses, nothing was giving me that feeling I was looking for and I knew I needed to step outside my comfort zone. My consultant pulled what she said was her favorite dress in the salon, and I immediately knew it was the one! Fast forward 18 months and the owner picked out the perfect veil for me when I decided I needed one. The alterations team is out of this world and made sure my dress fit absolutely perfectly. Julie Allen's truly helped me find my dream dress, and I cannot recommend them enough!! For their expertise, selections, professionalism, knowledge, and making each bride feel like family, they are the best!!

I got married this October, I bought my dress here in the summer of 2022! Erica was amazing!! She listened to my price range and then picked out so many beautiful dresses I would’ve never my picked myself to try on! All I knew I wanted was a dress with sleeves she went above and beyond to find so many different styles with sleeves, the whole experience was great she was amazing and I found my perfect dress! The alterations done to my dress were also perfect!

2 Days Notice

I highly recommend Julie Allen Bridal. My husband and I decided to get married and plan a wedding in less than a week, due to my mother in law getting diagnosed with terminal cancer.
I made an appointment on Thursday to look for a dress. I was overwhelmed when I saw the large variety of dresses and accessories, but given a description of the dress I was looking for Melanie already had a dress in mind. I don't know how Melanie did it but it was like she was in my brain and knew exactly what I was looking for. One look at it and I knew it was the one! The dress was everything I dreamed about, but lost hope for knowing I didn't leave any time for alterations. They fitted me the same day and OVERNIGHT they managed to make a size 10 dress fit me, who is around a size 0. The dress looked like it was made for me. Melanie went in the back and returned with the perfect veil.
I cannot say enough good things about Melanie (and her staff), she really is a fairy god mother!

I want to give a huge thank you to everyone on the Julie Allen Team! The staff for helping me choose my dress, the seamstress who worked on it, and everyone who made me feel like a true bride! My wedding day was amazing and I felt beautiful in my dress. It fit me perfectly and I was able to move freely throughout our day. My bridesmaids and I had a bit of trouble trying to bustle my dress for the reception, (there were a lot of buttons) but we were able to get it! Amazing place to find your dream dress

Great experience

When a friend suggested Julie Allen I was skeptical based on the distance from my home. However, I am glad I made the appointment and went. My consultant, April, was so patient and kind during my appointment. She helped me find the perfect dress for my big day. Above and Beyond is an Understatement

I cannot recommend Julie Allen Bridals enough to anyone planning a wedding. They went above and beyond for me multiple times throughout the year I worked with them.

We found that my mother needed to start chemotherapy immediately the week we were going to start dress shopping. We had one weekend to search for a dress before she started treatment during the pandemic and could no longer go out in public, and I refused to go dress shopping without my mom. Our first stop was Julie Allen Bridals.

We reached out to them ahead of time and asked if we could have a photographer come and photograph us together in dresses while we shopped since she would be losing her hair, and we wanted to photograph her with her long locks. Not only did they agree to have a photographer come, but they offered to shoot the photos for us with one of their bridal consultants, Erica, who photographs her in her spare time. She refused to take any payment we offered.

We found a fantastic dress at that first shop that had amazing sleeves I couldn't stop thinking about it the entire weekend while we kept looking and made the decision to move forward with Julie Allen. They were very accommodating about the alteration requests I had as I wanted to change some underskirt colors and vastly cut back the long train and worked with me every step of the way to get clarity and make sure the dress was exactly what I wanted.

Yupa, my seamstress at Julie Allen was so warm and kind. She knew exactly what to do to alter the dress and add little additions here and there to make managing the dress easier. We did try adding some clear strips to the shoulders under the sheer fabric there to stop some redness where the dress rubbed, but it was far too distracting and reflective in the light. The owner herself, Melanie, spent the better part of an hour removing them herself!

My mom is officially in remission a year later, and focusing on the wedding gave her something positive to look forward to as she fought. We are so glad we started our dress journey with Julie Allen Bridals, and they will always have a special place in our hearts as we reflect on our wedding planning experience.

You won't get a better experience than here at Julie Allen Bridals. I'd come here again, but I'm not planning to get married again soon, so I'll have to recommend them to all my engaged friends instead. :)

Julie Allen Bridals is absolutely wonderful. They're a small family owned business that has been around for decades. I stumbled across their store when looking for bridal boutiques and I am so thrilled this is where I got my wedding dress from. Helped me create my dream dress!

When I first walked into Julie Allen bridal I was a little overwhelmed. It was a Saturday and there was a trunk show happening so of course there were many interested shoppers. However, I was promptly greeted and guided to my consultant for my appointment. My consultant listened closely to what I wanted and pulled the unique dresses I was looking for. I quickly found a dress I loved but it was missing the little bit of sparkle I was hoping for. My consultant quickly came up with a plan to customize my dress to make it exactly what I was dreaming of. I rang the bell to announce I found my dress and the rest of the boutique consultants came over to congratulate me and tell me how amazing I looked. It was an fun and easy experience. Julie Allen Bridals helped me create my dream dress and I couldn't be more excited! Even better, my dress was on sale for the trunk show and was right within my budget, even with the customized changes!!

The best bridal shop!

Years ago, my mother bought her wedding two piece set from Julie Allen’s. I also lived down the street my whole life until I was 18. It was a no brainer for me to go there.

What I didn’t expect was the level of care I received from all the ladies I worked with through all the fittings. They must deal with a lot of people, and a lot of brides, on a daily basis. But they still make you feel so special, and somehow like you are the only bride there.

Thank you so much for my dream dress, and making the process so easy!! Definitely will be recommending them to any of my friends getting married.

Wonderful Experience!!

Julie Allen is AMAZING and there is a reason why they have been in business for so long!!! They have a wonderful selection of dresses and veils, fabulous bridal consultants, and amazing seamstresses. Their attention to detail and quality of service is above and beyond! For my initial appointment (in 2019!), I only had a small idea of what I was looking for. Lois, my bridal consultant, pulled a dress and my wedding dress ended up being the first one I tried on!! We tried on a few more and I ended up coming back and ordering that first dress. They were so patient the entire time. Unfortunately, my wedding was postponed (in 2020) and Julie Allen stored my dress for an entire year so it didn't get ruined (much appreciated!). When it was finally wedding time, they do alterations onsite and it is above and beyond. I was so impressed by the quality of work done. I love my dress and veil so much and got so many compliments on my wedding day!! Thank you, Julie Allen!!

Found My Perfect Dress

I first reached out to Julie Allen Bridals as they were the only shop in CT at the time who carried the Wilderly Bride by Allure line. I was in love with the boho-chic look of this line and my visit to the shop did not disappoint. The woman who helped me listened to what I was interested in and when I named the line she immediately ran to get several dresses that she thought I would like. I ended up buying the second dress I tried on. The alteration process was easy and well-done, and they made sure I got in for an appointment as soon as they were able to open after covid shutdowns. My husband and I had to postpone our large reception until July 2021, but I was still able to wear my dress for our small June 2020 ceremony. The shop held on to my dress for me until this summer to make sure it didn’t get discolored sitting in my closet. I was able to wear my dress a second time and got so many compliments on it.

Amazing experience and lovely atmosphere.

Amazing service!

The moment we walked into Julie Allen Bridals I knew it was the place I would find my dress. There was an overwhelming feeling of comfort and calmness that made us feel so welcomed. My consultant Jessica was extremely upbeat and friendly from the second I met her. She was very attentive and made sure she understood exactly what I was looking for (style and budget wise) before putting me into any gowns. Jessica also made it a point that my opinion be heard before my family's, which really helped me express my true feelings about each dress I tried on. I am extremely grateful for her patience and kindness. She made me feel like the most important person in the shop that day and helped me find my dream dress. I never felt rushed or pushed, even when the ladies, including the owner Melanie, stayed past closing time so a few of my bridesmaids could browse/try-on dresses. Amazing Experience!

The whole staff was amazing! From when my consultant Jessica first helped me pick my gown in April 2019, to postponing my wedding four times but never having to worry about my gown being kept safely until it was time to wear it.

My bridesmaids #levkoff dresses came from here as well. The pricing was comparable if not better than leading online retailers.

An amazing bridal gown experience!

Julie Allen bridal is an amazing place to find your wedding gown! All of the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable on wedding dresses. I explained briefly what I was looking for and after trying on a few dresses, my consultant found the perfect dress for me! I also tried on many veils and found one that matched my dress perfectly. When it came time for my dress fitting their on site seamstress did a beautiful job. Julie Allen bridal has gorgeous gowns, and bridesmaid dresses. They also have dresses to fit many price ranges. You will feel like family when you go there! Thank you Julie Allen Bridal for making my wedding dress shopping experience one I will never forget!

Amazing family experience

I was excited to get my dress here because my mom and my sister both purchased their wedding dress at this shop. I showed the consultant a few photos of styles I had in mind, and the first dress she brought me ended up being the one! Such a fun experience and I was treated like family the whole way.

I can’t say enough good things about Julie Allen Bridal. They are consummate professionals who know their business inside and out, but in a rare combination, they are caring and compassionate human beings who really go out of their way for each client. To be honest, I was kind of dreading wedding dress shopping, I always feel awkward, but Julie Allen Bridal made this experience an absolute dream for me! The staff are so accommodating, kind, and knew EXACTLY what to find me! I cannot thank Julie Allen Bridals enough for helping me find my dream dress! While I was looking for dresses, I found Rebecca Ingram's design ”Kaitlyn” I fell in love with it and had to try it on. When I found out Julie Allen Bridal carried the dress, I knew I had to go and try it on. It was the first dress I tried on, and instantly I knew! Going forward with fittings, everyone was amazing and knowledgeable. When the pandemic hit, they called to ensure that my dress would be safe until I was able to pick it up. After three date changes, I finally got to wear my dream dress on October 10th. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Fantastic family owned and run business

My family and I had a wonderful time shopping for my wedding gown here. All of the staff, including the owner and daughter were extremely warm, inviting and attentive. They helped me to find the dress of my dreams and I cannot be happier. They were easy going and really helped us to feel welcome in the shop. Amazing experience at Julie Allen

I purchased my dress from Julie Allen Bridals in August of 2019 for my July 2020 wedding and I could not have asked for a better experience. I felt that the consultants that I worked with truly cared about helping me find the perfect dress and listened to anything feedback I had as I tried dresses on. They were very respectful of my budget and did not show me anything that was too expensive for me to be able to buy. The staff could not have been more wonderful. It was evident that every person who worked there loves what they do. As it came time to begin alterations, COVID 19 hit. Once they reopened, they took the precautions necessary to keep clients feeling safe. They also made sure that my dress was completely perfect on time. I never was nervous about going into the salon. Julie Allen is an example of what makes family owned small businesses so great. Thank you for helping me feel confident and beautiful on my big day!

Dont go anywhere else!

The staff at Julie Allen Bridal is AAAHHHMAZING!!! I can't thank them enough for all their help with finding me and my mother in law dresses. I'd gone to several other stores before coming across their shop and later learning my mother in law had purchased her gown from Miss Allen 35 years before. Every other bridal store pretty much disregarded me or offered me little to no help and I was getting discouraged. I wasn't the average customer - I wanted a specific type of gown / look and it had to be black! Not to mention we had time constraints to make our Halloween 2020 wedding date. They were able to give me multiple choices that fit my budget and worked to find something I was over the moon for. They truly went above and beyond to find something I absolutely loved and were generous enough to wave the rush fee for me which is incredibly generous considering they're a small shop that went through months of closure because of the virus. They really care about the customers and it shows.

I also want to mention that I was impressed with how well run they are given the current pandemic. Most shops are running around like chickens with their heads cut off, are refusing to open or have such stringent measure that its nearly pointless to even attempt to gown shop. Given all of the COVID 19 restrictions and limitations the staff is able to maintain an extremely clean and sanitary environment while still providing exceptional service. Ill recommend them to anyone and everyone looking for a bridal or special occasion gown.

Found my one in a million dress!

I purchased my wedding gown and veil at Julie Allen Bridals and I cannot recommend them enough! I was a very stressed about picking my gown, as I have a scar in the middle of my chest that I wanted covered. The majority of gowns have a sweetheart neckline these days so it was very difficult for me to find a gown to my taste. I ended up going to 13 different bridal stores in southwest Connecticut as well as New York City. I tried on over 150 gowns over the course of a couple months. I saw it all! I had some very bad experiences at other stores. Several stores had me try on dresses outside my budget without telling me beforehand. Many had very pushy saleswomen and trying to sell me hideous, expensive gowns and a few made some very inappropriate comments about my weight that were completely uncalled for! Julie Allen Bridal’s saleswomen were all very professional, informative, and not too pushy. Ultimately, I ended up initially finding my gown (Allure Bridal 9422) in New York City at Kleinfeld Bridal. It was the perfect detailed lace gown, with a scalloped train, a hint of pink lining, and a delicate illusion neckline that gave me the scar coverage I needed without looking too conservative. The price was definitely jacked up and the alterations costs were outrageous at Kleinfeld, not to mention my visit was rushed and factory-like. So I reached out to smaller stores closer to my hometown to see if they had the same dress available. Julie Allen Bridals did not have the gown available for my initial try on, but I was able to try on other gorgeous gowns that were all within my price range. At my second visit with my family, they were able to borrow the gown I wanted from another store. I appreciated it so much that they went out of their way to have the gown available for my Yes! moment with my loved ones. Not to mention, the gown was several hundred dollars less than at Kleinfeld and they extended a sale for me as my mother was flying in a couple days after their Allure trunk sale, and I did not want to say Yes! without her. It was a perfect moment. I had my gown altered at Julie Allen Bridal as well. The woman who did the alterations was very kind, she made me feel comfortable, and did fantastic work. The gown was perfectly fitted. I also purchased a veil from them which complemented the gown perfectly. Overall, it was a pleasure working with the women at Julie Allen Bridal and I cannot recommend them more.

Said Yes to the Dress!!!

The bridal shop, employees and owner were wonderful! I showed my consultant dressed I was interested in and they went and pulled all the possibilities for me (while keeping in mind my budget). I felt extremely comfortable and welcomed. Julie Allen Bridal is extremely accommodating and do whatever possible to make the bride as well as the wedding party happy!
I cant wait to go back with my bridesmaids to get their dresses!

Loved my dress and the ladies at Julie Allen!

My sister went here for her dress and had a great experience so I started here also. The selection they have is unmatched by other stores I visited. I was specifically looking at the Wilderly by Allure dresses and they had so many! I found my perfect dress and the alterations were quick and painless. They have a price cap for alterations. My dress was simple so I didn’t hit the top but it was nice to know so I could budget. Thanks ladies!

Amazing dresses!

This was the first place I tried on dresses and they were amazingly helpful! They showed me so many gowns and really listened to what I liked and didn't like. I left without a dress my first time because I am so indecisive. I decided to go back there at a later time with less people and they happened to be having a trunk show for Eddy K dresses and I tried back on a dress that I had originally tried on and I knew it was the once. I got a great price and great customer service! They also were able to help my bridesmaids with their dresses!

Finally Said Yes to the Dress

I started looking for a dress about a month ago, I went to 2 smaller shops and had no luck. I was honestly feeling that i wasn't going to find my dress at all.

A close friend recommended Julie Allen. Even though it was a 95 minute drive, i took her advice and thank god I did.

I felt at ease the second i walked in. The store had several different styles displayed and it was clear they had an extensive inventory.

The owner, Melanie, took the time to sit down, talk to me and get an idea of what i was looking for. I felt EXTREMELY comfortable with her.

The first dress I tried on was my dress, I think i knew it the second i put it on but still tried a few others.

I liked that the sample sizes were not way to small or way to large, to me it gave a much better feeling of the dress was like. The rooms to try on dresses was large enough to see the dress in full, but i still walked my favorites to the main area, and even outside the building to be absolutely sure i liked the look in all lights.

The staff was all REAL ladies who were genuine and kind.

If you have gone to smaller shops and are feeling down and discouraged about finding a dress, TAKE THE DRIVE. You will NOT be sorry.

Love Julie Allen’s Bridal

I had the best experience ever choosing a gown! I found the salon at a bridal show and as a plus size bride every single bridal salon I found I would ask if they had plus size gowns in store to try on, it so happened they were having a plus sized trunk show for Allure Bridals coming up. I entered the salon on a Saturday during a trunk show and it was true chaos! However it did not take away from how much time was dedicated to my appointment. I was assisted my Melanie and she is truly amazing! She made the whole experience joyful and not stressful at all. I ended up choosing my dress that day and it’s the most beautiful thing I have ever worn!

Melanie, Lauren, Angela, and the entire team were amazing! The process was seamless and they make you feel like family every time you’re there. When I met Lauren and Goldie met Piper

I had such a wonderful experience working with Julie Allen Bridal and it resulted in me getting married in the dress of my dreams! Before my appointment at Julie Allen, I was feeling discouraged after unsuccessful searches at 4 other bridal salons. I fell in love with a dress right away at Julie Allen and was obsessed with everything about it except for the neckline. I worried that come wedding day I might not feel comfortable in it and started second guessing my decision. Lucky for me, Lauren came to the rescue. Lauren is brilliant and kind. She eased my mind with an idea to merge the dress with another one, so I could have this dress I was so excited about with a neckline that i was completely comfortable with. I had an amazing experience with Julie Allen Bridals. I had the pleasure of visiting the store when looking for my twin sister's wedding dress and knew I'd be going to the same place for my own. Every single person there is kind, caring, and compassionate. Admittedly, I was not excited about dress shopping on the first trip. I don't like to be the center of attention, didn't have a good idea of what I wanted, and wasn't confident that I would find THE dress that day or anytime soon. Melanie was so kind and patient with me throughout the process. After a few try-ons -- as we were about to leave -- she and her daughter pulled the most beautiful Kitty Chen dress that they thought would fit my style (with the very little information I gave them). I loved the dress as soon as I saw it. When I started going to fittings, it got even better. The seamstress is such a sweet and talented woman, and she made the process so easy and tailored the dress beautifully to fit my body and preferences. I can't say enough about this bridal shop. I felt so beautiful and comfortable each time I was there and had such a positive experience.

Excellent- Finally got to try gowns on in my size

Awesome experience, found my dress, and got to try on exactly what I thought I wanted as well, and then picked a slightly different bottom because it just felt more like me. I was trying on size bridal 14, but ordered a bridal 16, so I’m just pointing out to all the curvier, Fuller brides, this store made me feel better than Kleinfeld’s (where I had to dry on size bridal 10 and had no idea what the over budget dress would look like.
Al Julie Allen Bridals, I found my perfect dress, under budget, ordered it and have not had any buyers remorse. I’m getting married 11/22/19, paid about $2300 for a full embellished sweetheart ballgown and have heard my dress should come in mid August. I’ll update if i have a different experience here with alterations but I don’t not expect this. Bottom line, check it out.

I loved my experience with Julie Allen. I went in 2017 to purchase a dress for my 2018 wedding. Jessica made me feel so comfortable during the shopping experience and listened to all of my thoughts and requests. I ended up purchasing the first dress I tried on!

I picked Julie Allen because of the range of designers they carried, and their policy of a $295 fee for alterations. I needed some extra work, so it ended up costing $345, which is hundreds less than what my friends have paid. Cathleen was so professional during alterations and I left feeling like she was my family. I would recommend Julie Allen to anyone!

I came into the store with so much anxiety about picking out a dress and was so sure I’d end up just picking something up at Macy’s. The ladies there were so supportive and understanding and made me feel so comfortable. They were so flexible and so accommodating with my schedule when it came to fittings. Selection was also amazing, I wanted all the dresses! Thanks guys!

I cannot thank the staff at Julie Allen enough for all that they did in helping me choose my wedding dress. I had been pressured into buying a dress that I didn’t love at a different location, and was heartbroken. About 7 months before my wedding, I made an appointment at Julie Allen to see if they could help. They got me in for an appointment quickly, and could not have been more understanding and sweet. They helped me find my dream dress and veil, as well as the perfect flower girl dress. The seamstress was fantastic, and my dress fit perfectly. Because of the staff, I truly felt like a princess on my wedding day!

Julie Allan Bridal is exceptional! I planned a wedding in under 6 months and was able to obtain my dream wedding dress and getting fitted due to the store and these women! The moment I walked in the door I knew I was in good hands. I showed the team a few pictures and had several dresses pulled within the moment. The second dress I tried on was the one I bought within the first visit with no hesitation. I highly recommend you make an appointment for your dress.

I got married in September and loved working with Julie Allens. I bought my wedding dress, our bridesmaid dresses, flower girl dress, mother of the bride and grandmothers dresses here. We initially worked with Danielle who was AMAZING! I had narrowed my search down to two dresses, one at Julie Allens and one at another store. Melanie, the owner came into the room and told me she was able to borrow my second dress from another store so that I can try them on together.. which was so awesome. I ended up picking the second dress which she was able to order for me! Everything about all of the dresses were so easy!!! Not only did Melanie do this for my dress, she was amazing and flexible with helping my Mom find a dress she truly loved!!!!! She truly went above and beyond! Angela was our seamstress! She was so patient and amazing as well! I would not hesitate to have any of our family or friends go to Julie Allens to look for their dresses! =)

I went into Julie Allen today with one of my bridesmaids to begin the search for bridesmaids dresses. We had a great experience here! All of the saleswomen were eager to help and they all checked in with us and worked as a team as we tried on dresses. We had an opportunity to try all the dresses we were interested in. Julie Allen Bridal was amazing! I had been to a couple of other stores before them, but they were definitely my last stop. The women there are wonderful and they were so accommodating to my crazy work schedule. They made the process so easy and were not pushy at all! They even picked out my dress to have me try it on! Everything has been absolutely perfect from the start! Even when I had bumps in the road with my bridesmaids having trouble paying the owner Melanie worked something out with one of my girls and said to me money does not stand in the way. Generous, genuine, good hearted and very sweet woman Melanie is. The whole crew is great made me feel very comfortable and helped me where I have felt lost in my decisions. No matter how many times I changed the dresses for the bridesmaid and what color everyone was helpful and patient and made it happen! My fairytale wedding is possible because of their dedication and love for what they do. Thank you ladies!

I can't praise Julie Allen Bridal's enough! From picking out my perfect dress, to all of my fittings and finally picking up my dress, they were amazing. They worked with my schedule for the fittings. I found my gown at Julie Allen! I went for a Black Friday trunk sale and got an amazing gown for an even better value! With what I saved on the dress, I was able to get a belt and alterations and STILL came in under budget! The alterations staff was professional and did a beautiful job-- it fit like a glove. Just expect to go in a few times before you finally pick up the dress-- they make sure every detail is perfect before you bring it home. Highly recommended!

When I started looking at dresses I was looking on Pinterest, I found this incredible dress by Allure Bridal. I felt that it was perfect and I could not get this dress out of my head until I tried it on. Other dresses were not giving me the "wow" factor that I was hoping for. We went to many bridal stores that were in our local area, but none of them had it. We extended our search and were told it was on a trunk show in Massachusetts, except when we got there we were told it wasn't there.

We started calling more bridal salons around CT, my mom contacted Julie Allen Bridal and they were fabulous! They located the dress, which was at the time getting ready to go to another trunk show. A store Melanie had contact with was able to ship it for one day only to Julie Allen so I could try it on, before they had to send it to the show. I will always be thankful to Melanie and the staff at Julie Allen Bridal, they went above and beyond in helping me to get this dress. It all worked out, my gut feeling was right - this was my dress! We ordered it that day and it came just as i imagined it. Cassie helped to do the alterations and make it fit perfectly to my size. She was kind and was attentive to every detail on my dress. Melanie, Cassie and the staff at Julie Allen Bridal helped to make my wedding a dream. I am so thankful for the amazing experience I had working with them and would highly recommend their business!!

The ladies at Julie Allen Bridals really know their craft. We had our appointment last July and had a great experience. It was the first shop I went to when dress shopping and I wasn't sure what to expect. Melanie greeted us and assisted at my dress appointment. She started by asking what my vision was and what I liked and disliked. I tried on a few that I had chosen and we discussed what I loved and didn't love on each. Melanie took all of this into account and then proceeded to go in back and pick THE PERFECT DRESS!!! My mother, aunt, and I all cried and my sisters and best friend were teary eyed. Since it was only the 5th wedding gown I had ever tried on I went to two other stores that same day to make sure that was the dress I wanted and I was back at Julie Allen Bridals by the end of the day to order my perfect dress from them.
I had all my alterations done with Cassie who is one of the seamstresses at Julie Allen Bridals and she was wonderful as well. Very knowledgeable and easy to work with.
I love that this business is a family affair. Melanie's mother started the shop and she now runs it with her daughter. They all truly love what they do and have a gift for finding you the perfect dress. It is easy to call and schedule dress appointments and alterations appointments which I appreciate as I live out of state. After going to three stores I can assure you they have the best selection and nicest kept dresses. I would recommend them to anyone in the area looking for a dress. You can be sure that when my sisters and friends get engaged this will be our first stop for their dresses! Thank you for finding me the perfect dress!!

A fantastic Bridal Boutique. Great selection of Bridal Dresses, Bridesmaid Dresses and Special Occasion Dresses and accessories. I could not begin to say enough about good things about this boutique. I found the perfect wedding dress and went back a second time for a special occasion dress. The attention to detail and professionalism on the part of Melanie and her staff is nothing less than incredible! My mother traveled from NYC to this boutique and said it was well worth the trip. I found Julie Allen Bridals on Wedding Wire and based on all of the positive reviews I knew this had to be my first stop for bridal gown shopping. It turns out that Julie Allen Bridals was also my ONLY stop for bridal gown shopping!

Melanie helped me during my appointment and I literally only had to answer 2 questions, do I want strapless and what is my price point. I didn't show her any pictures and yet every dress she pulled was exactly my style! After about 7-8 dresses, I knew I found the one!

The whole process was very seamless, I had as many fittings as necessary to make sure my dress fit as perfectly as it could. The day of my wedding, once I put my dress on I did not want to take it off ever!! I loved it so much, and received so many compliments that night. Thank you Julie Allen Bridals for providing me with such a breathtaking dress for my wedding day!!

Julie Allen's is the best! I made an appointment on a weekday and worked with Melanie, the owner. She could not have been more kind, listening, and attentive to my needs. I told her I had a low budget and she was extremely willing to work with me. I also brought my 20 month old daughter with me and they gave her a stuffed animal to play with while we were there. Melanie must be a mind reader because the first dress I tried on was exactly what I was looking for and it was in my price range. It was THE dress, After trying on two other dresses, I knew the first one was my dress. I am so happy I found this place and I will recommended everyone to go see Jess. This was my first stop to try on wedding dresses (I am a very anxious person) Jessica made me feel so comfortable and made my family feel welcome. I told her the type of style I had in mind and seriously I love all the dresses she pulled for me (and there were a lot). Never once did I feel rushed in fact I asked her if I was taking too much of her time which she replied no I wasn't. She pulled a dress for me that stood out than others but I didn't want to say yes to the dress at the first place I went to without giving other places a try first. Well it only took me to go to 2 other places to realize there isn't any other place I would want to get a dress from than Julie Allen. After being told from other places that the style of my dress wouldn't work for my body type, my family being treated unkindly, and being told by someone they didn't want to waste their time with me if I already feel in love with a dress I called Julie Allen right away and of course they were able to get me an appointment with the person I wanted on the day I wanted it on. It was just a plus that representatives from the designer I was going to by my dress from was on site that day to help answer any questions. Jess and Melanie were so helpful to the point where my mother asked about mother of the brides dresses. Melanie pulled one dress after listening to my mom and what she wanted and it was perfect. My mom and I both said yes to our dresses on the same day. It was a great experience - I can't wait to know look at bridesmaids dresses, I am sure they will be just as helpful picking the perfect dress for my bridesmaids also. it is worth the visit you will not be disappointed they have a wide range of styles that I'm sure anyone will be able to find something they love. After visiting multiple bridal shops that just didn't seem to understand what I was looking for.. within 5 mins of being there Jess knew and came out with my dream gown. I had a great experience purchasing my dress and getting alterations from Julie Allen Bridal. All the girls working there were awesome- very helpful in pulling dresses to find the perfect dress. I made another appointment after the initial one because I was undecided. I had staff members helping on the different days but they were both great. I was looking for a dress with short sleeves and although they didn't have many they had great solutions to tailor other dresses to meet my needs. Dress arrived about 6 months after we ordered it. All alterations are done on site. One thing to note is that you pay the seamstress separately from the shop. The seamstress was AMAZING! At my last fitting she hugged me and wished me luck. Everyone at the wedding commented how they loved my dress and how well it fit me. Thank you to everyone at Julie Allen Bridal for everything!

Just had my wedding this past weekend and I absolutely LOVED my dress. The staff at Julie Allen's did everything to make my dress so perfect including allowing me to come in for an extra fitting. The dress was gorgeous and everyone else loved it too! The ONLY down side to Julie Allen's (that doesn't change my review at all) is that I wish they had more accessories in store to go with my dress. They did have some jewelry/belts/veils however I had to go elsewhere for under garments and shoes. Would have loved if it was a one stop shop, however I also understand that is just something they do not do. Just thought that was important to point out for others. Thank you so much for making my day so special :)

I've been in great hands from the moment I walked into Julie Allen Bridals. I was so worried about dress shopping because I don't fit into most sample sizes. The ladies at Julie Allen made me feel comfortable, and dress shopping was a breeze.
When the dress came in, it didn't fit well (a bride's nightmare, right?). The owner reacted so quickly, I actually didn't have even the time to start worrying about it. She generously offered to exchange the size for me, and it was a completely stress-free situation. Their seamstress is an absolute sweetheart, and the alterations process has been easy and worry-free. I am so glad I chose to purchase my dress here!

I have to say I am so happy my manager recommended me to Julie Allen.. I first was at davids bridal and it was not personal it was in a small room where you could not even see yourself. I also went to another place in Greenwich, HORRIBLE. FONTANAS that place be aware they are nasty.

However when I came into my job my boss said 20 years ago she got her dress from Julie allen and to just give it a try, I went with my mom randomly one day and BOY am I happy I did.. they bring you into a personal room ask questions that are great keep a convo with you. don't go out of your price range and they bring you in dresses to your desire. there is seats in the room for everyone if you bring ppl, the last dress I tried on was amazing my mom cried even customers were saying its amazing and the staff..OMG so sweet. they worked with my schedule for fittings and the sweetest woman fits you. I have never seen such a nicer place.. from the outside you wouldn't think that its the place but it really is!! EVERYONE SHOULD GO. I wish I can visit all the time!

I ordered my dress super early (16 months before wedding!) . I am so in love with my dress. My consultant Jessica was so awesome and listened to my vision, even though i really didn't have too many ideas. The first dress i tried on was AMAZING! But i didn't want to just settle on the first one... i wanted more experience. i tried on probably 5 more, but nothing compared (though they were all beautiful and i'm sure other brides would LOVE them) to the first one. I bought the first dress, needless to say. Great deal compared to some other shops, but the head piece i purchased much later was pretty expensive, though that is normal, from what i have seen from other shops...My bridesmaids also got all of their dresses there. I was only concerned that it took 12 months for my dress to arrive and 7 months before the bridesmaids--- but again, that is because we order SUPER early. i'm sure if the wedding was closer the dresses would come accordingly. Again, Jessica, and the owner Melanie have been amazing! It's a small but mighty shop with lots to choose from!

This was the first Bridal Shoppe I went to, and oh I am so glad I did! Everyone was so nice and friendly! Never complained about how many dresses I put on. I told them what I wanted, and by the second dress I had my wedding gown! Of course i had to try on some more just because I had to be sure! The wedding gowns are beautiful and very affordable. It's a big Shoppe with plenty of room. The dressing rooms have chairs for family. I felt so good going in, they treat you like you are family! It was just an amazing experience.

I was nervous about getting my dress altered because it had to be brought up about 6 inches and was a difficult lace to cut. The seamstress Cassie did an absolute amazing job and you couldn't even tell the dress had been shortened. Not only did we bring in the dress but I wanted to make some changed to the neckline. Melanie had different ideas of how to alter the neckline and sleeves and the outcome was absolutely stunning. I knew I didn't have to worry about anything and the end product was better than I could have imagined. They definitely go above and beyond to satisfy their customers.

When my husband and I got engaged, a close friend highly recommended Julie Allen Bridals to us. The owner and her daughter are incredible women to work with and made dress shopping both easy and fun! For my first appointment, they talked to my mom and I about what we had envisioned for the wedding, specifically the venue, flowers, theme, colors, etc. They then brought three dresses into the dressing room for me to try on. This was a much better experience than other dress shops I had been to where the salesperson asked me to look through hundreds of dresses and pull any I thought would be a contender (talk about overwhelming a bride!). I'm so happy to say that I chose the second dress I tried on that day at Julie Allen's and couldn't be happier.

I was also planning my wedding from Colorado and could only make it home for fitting appointments on certain days. This was no problem at all for the seamstresses at Julie Allen, they were happy to accommodate my travel schedule and were extremely flexible.

I went to try on dresses there and after 9 dresses, Melanie walked into the dressing room, asked me what I liked, and then came back with what turned out to be my dream dress and the one I chose! I found Julie Allen Bridals through my cousin who got her gown from here. I knew what I wanted having been to a couple of other locations and not really getting the experience nor finding the gown I had visioned for myself. As soon as the consultants got my group into a private room, I knew I would find my gown here. After trying on about 6 gowns I finally found the "one". A Maggie Sottero (which i wanted all along but had no idea the gown i chose was her brand until after i already paid for it!) The staff at Julie Allen Bridals worked so quickly and made the decision process so much easier for me with explaining how the entire process worked. I was able to order my gown in a petite size/length since I'm only 5' tall. The gown and veil came in within the promised time the staff said it would and i began my alterations (which you have to pay separately and in cash-but that's okay because those ladies really know what they are doing!) After three fittings I was able to pick up my gown and veil. They allowed me to keep them there for as long as I could before the wedding as to be sure nothing would happen to them.

All of the staff at Julie Allen Bridals were truly amazing and I will definitely be referring them to my girlfriends in the future!

The staff at Julie Allen Bridals are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their seamstress is amazing. The whole process was a breeze!

Julie Allen is the place to go for your dream dress and bridesmaid dresses!! The staff is so easy to work with and always make sure you feel like special! Thank you for everything myself and my bridesmaids would not have looked as amazing as they did without you guys!

Julie Allen Bridal saved my wedding... literally! I bought a wedding dress at a different boutique (off the rack) 3 months before my wedding. When I picked up the dress a month before the wedding to get it altered, the dress was destroyed! Ripped, stained, and unwearable. I was in tears. I went to over 15 different bridal stores over Valentine's day weekend looking for a new dress... off the rack, with sleeves, and A-line is not an easy request. Julie Allen Bridal found me the PERFECT dress! They went out of their way to help a flustered bride out (who had no appointment and no time to spare). They squeezed me in for alterations and had EXTREMELY!!! fair pricing! Their seamstress is unreal, basically a magician! She added sleeves to my dress. She also turned the dress into an Aline dress that hit at just the right points! I can not say enough positive things about Julie Allen Bridal! Ask for Lauren, she really knows her stuff and has the ability to pick the perfect dress for every bride!
