    Hands down--THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER IN THE INDUSTRY! As a wedding planner, I've had the opportunity of working with Joy on many weddings and I've also worked with hundreds of other photographers. Joy stands out as a leader in the industry for many reasons. Joy is an artist, not someone who decided they loved photography and picked up a camera one day. When the time came that I needed to book a photographer for my own wedding earlier this year, the choice was clear--Joy Marie. And I am SO GLAD she was available because my photos evoke every emotion that I felt that day and are so perfect that they are beyond words. She nailed it, as I knew she would since she's made so many of my clients SO happy in the past.

    Why I love Joy Marie:
    She talks the couple through the engagement session so they feel more than comfortable with the photo session on their wedding day. She positions the couple perfectly to catch the most beautiful angles. This is crucial to any bride who isn't a professional model. You'll feel like the most amazing version of yourself was portrayed when you get your photos back! She has a keen eye for lighting and backdrops as well. I don't need to go into this because her photos speak for themselves.

    On the back end of things, Joy is professional, kind, prompt, thorough and genuinely passionate for what she does. She's a team player and will do ANYTHING to get amazing photos. She also seems to capture even the quickest moments. Whenever something is photo worthy during your event, Joy is there and makes that split second in time, a piece of art.

    On top of all of this--there is nobody else I'd rather have following me around on my wedding. Joy is incredibly likable and that is SO important when this person is following you around on one of the most important days of your life. She can get along with anyone as she's very easy going and has the leadership skills to pull groups of people together for beautiful family photos.

    Joy and David were simply amazing at shooting our wedding. Their attention to detail and professionalism are unmatched and the quality of images are legendary. I've had friends literally all over the world comment on our photography indicating it is the best they've ever seen. Joy truly has a rare gift for bringing out the best pictures in people. I would highly recommend Joy in every aspect of her job.

    I would give Joy Marie 6 stars our of 5 if they would let me. Joy Marie is incredibly talented. So many of our photos look like they can be straight out of a magazine. She effectively combines art, fashion, photo journalism and candid moments seamlessly. She made us look and feel like a million dollars. Her attention to detail is unparalleled. She doesn't like posed pictures (but of course she will do them and all the formal shots), she just told us to interact with each other, and the results were amazing. I feel so fortunate every time I look at our photos. Joy Marie is simply the best!

    Oh my gosh I wish I could rate Joy Marie a 10! She is the most amazing photographer I could have asked for. I am anxiously awaiting to see our wedding photos, but our engagement pictures were AMAZING! All of our friends and family can't stop talking about how happy they are with her professionalism the day of our wedding, and of course they all love her website, and also can't wait to see our wedding pictures. Joy Marie could take pictures of anyone in front of a dumpster and make it look hot! Love love love her! I have found a photographer for life!

    Our wedding was on a tight budget but we agreed to splurge a little on the photographer. We are sosososo glad we did. Joy Marie and her assistant were so great to work with - friendly, professional and creative, and the bottom line - our photos look AMAZING. They are by far the best pictures of us we have ever seen. Joy Marie has an eye for catching beauty, drama and emotion in her photos. I have been telling everyone I know getting married about her!!!

    I cannot rate her value for cost b/c I am not sure of this as she was not my main photographer. I was lucky enough to get Joy Marie to serve as the assistant to the hired photographer, as his regular assistant was unavailable. I am so thankful that it worked out that way, as I cannot imagine having someone else. She was excellent and I loved the aspect that she provided.

    My husband and I give Joy the highest recommendation in all respects. We hope to hire her to photograph all our major life events. Joy is amazing. First of all, put simply, her photos are just stunning. Her eye for composition, color and texture makes each photo, in and of itself, remarkable and artistic. She also captured through her photos the story of the day -- and not just simply the actions, but the colors, details, emotions and personality -- and this was incredibly important to us in a wedding photograher. On top of it all, Joy is great to work with. Someone told us when we first began planning our wedding that it was important to like your photographer. After all, you end up spending more time with him or her than almost anyone. We really liked Joy. She is incredibly cool and nice. The only "drawback" to hiring Joy is that you will find yourself ordering more photos than you planned.

    What can I say that can summarize Joy and her work.... PHENOMINAL!! Joy has a talent that is out of this world. I was lucky to be introduced by a friend of mine who utilized Joy for her wedding. When I saw Joy's work I was sold. She has an eye for beauty and can see a memorable photo just by observing. I called Joy over 1 year before my wedding just so I can make sure I could book her. I do not regret my desicion one bit. If anyone is interested in the most beautiful wedding photos look no further than Joy Marie. Thank you Joy for being the best photographer I have ever seen. I really feel like I have met a friend for life.

    I was so nervous about photos and Joy and her partner produced the most wonderful photos that weren't cookie-cutter wedding pictures. Joy's artistic poise and professionalism are superior and I highly, highly, highly recommend her.

    I can't even explain how lucky I feel to have found Joy Marie. I researched TONS of photographers and I could not have asked for someone more amazing. I have never seen such amazing work and we are so blessed to have HUNDREDS of pictures that we absolutely love. Joy Marie is professional, flexible, responsive, and on top of it all, just a really good person. I enjoyed every minute of working with her and I even found myself just hanging out with her at the wedding. I can't stop talking about her and her work; any bride would be lucky to have her on their wedding day.

    my husband and i had a lot of fun working with joy and the results were phenomenal. everyone told us that our wedding photos were the best they'd ever seen. joy is a true artist and a professional. she's also the person you want following you around all day on your wedding day. her presence was calm and joyful (the name fits!) and we trusted her completely to capture every precious moment.

    There are no words to describe Joy, as both a photographer and a person. She is not only the most wonderfully caring and sweet person, but also she is the most creative and professional photographer. Her pictures are literally breathtaking! Each picture is uniquely beautiful, yet each picture captures the same overall theme of the wedding. You can feel the emotion and love just by looking at the pictures. To say she is a photographer is an understatement- she is an artist. Her eye for light and angles is unparalleled. The compliments I have gotten on my wedding pictures stem from- "you look like a cover story from a bridal magazine" to "your pictures need to be in Vogue." There are literally no words to describe how much I love Joy and her photography. I have recommended her to all of my friends, and I will be using her again for pregnancy shots and family pictures. It would be a mistake for anyone who has the opportunity to hire Joy not to!!!!

    Joy was truly a "joy"! She was great to work with - extremely professional, easy going, fun-spirited, and friendly. I can not say enough about her pictures. I'm a wedding planner and I have seen hundreds of portfolios - Joy has one of the best and she is reasonably priced considering how talented she is. Everyone who saw our wedding photos thought they came straight out of a magazine. She was also incredibly flexible and worked with us to find a package that fit our needs. If you want pictures that capture the spirit and beauty of one of the most important days of your life - you can't go wrong with Joy.

    As a former actor/model in Los Angeles, CA, I have had the great fortune of working with some amazing photographers, but NONE as skilled, creative, innovative, intuitive, and avant garde as Miss Joy Marie!!!! In short, in my experience, she is simply the best!!!! Thank you Joy Marie...I can't wait for my next wedding...just kidding, after seeing the photos I love my wife Debra even more!!!!     Stunning! My husband and I have a such a wonderfully documented momento of our engagement and wedding day. Joy is based out of Los Angeles, but is available for work both nationally and internationally. I was referred to Joy by a client of mine and I booked her before I had even decided on our date! My husband and I were not only impressed with her work, but we really fell in love with her when we met with her. She was the first vendor I booked way back in late 2006! She offers such a unique personal style to her photography - a perfect blend of classic, traditional work mixed with a bit of edginess including a lot of textures and colors. She is a photojournalist, telling the story of your day with some of the most emotional, touching images. She got one of my Dad that makes me a bit weepy every time I see it! She captured moments that my husband and I missed - which is what you want in a wedding photographer! The evening of our wedding Joy stayed later than what we had discussed, so that she could continue to document our day. She has such a cool, laid back personality, but when she starts shooting she is quite the little dynamo! She brought along an assistant photographer who was equally as wonderful. I cannot say enough about Joy the person and Joy the Photographer - she is a beautiful person inside and out and her work speaks for itself! I do believe she is at the top of her game - my friends have commented that their well-known, high-end wedding photographers did not offer the same quality or beautiful style. Joy will be getting a lot of referrals from me!
    Thanks Joy for all of your beautiful work and for being such an amazing person to work with....you made this time in our lives all the more special!

    We cannot sing high enough praise for Joy! It's hard to sum up in a few sentences how happy we are with the photography of our wedding day. We are so thankful to have such beautiful images that captured so many emotions of the day. Joy really puts so much of herself into her work- her passion for what she does comes through and her finished work is so artistic, creative and like no other wedding photos we've seen... she really succeeded in telling the story of our day with the photos she captured, and for this we will always be grateful.

    Once we saw her website and the amazing eye she had for capturing moments on film, we knew she was the photographer that we wanted for our wedding. Joy Marie more than exceeded our expectations. She is a truly talented artist.

    There will never be a regret with choosing Joy! One of the most amazing experiences of my life was having Joy as my photographer! Having great photos was my top wedding wish! Everything else paled in comparison! My fiancee at the time was concerned about costs. He was concerned they would be photos that would gather dust. He NO LONGER feels that way AT ALL! He sees photography in a new light! He went with my one big wish... and he doesn't regret it!

    Anytime we see photos of other photographers... my husband sadly nods and smiles with warm remembrances of our experience and results, "They're NOT Joy!" When we first viewed our slideshow I laughed with delight and joy remembering the day (she captured it so poignantly). I looked over and he had tears rolling down his cheeks. The photo video had stirred the emotions of the love he feels so deeply and that day all over again. It moved him to the core of his being! Joy captured VIVID remembrances for always! We watched it a second time and third time.

    Bullet points: she listens (I said I l-o-v-e texture), she drove an hour into the country to the town we would marry in (worked hard to find INCREDIBLE textured backdrops), did the same for engagement sight, put my fiancee/husband at ease with her gentle personality (he hates photos), perceptive, intuitive, GREAT creative eye and caught details in photos, responsive in emails, fun-loving and adventurous when we were on engagement and wedding photo shoots (she'll try ANYTHING... or so it seems) yet real gentle personality... mixed well with all of our wedding party and family, professional and yet personable and oh so caring... EXCEPTIONAL quality presentation of proofs and wedding slideshow.

    Words can truly never convey the quality and the gift you will find and receive if you choose Joy! We were not disappointed in ANY way... or at any time! My husband is a analytical businessman who wants facts, detail and people to be puntual (he was so pleased with her business skills and puntual emails). I am the artist who is pleased with everything aesthetic and visually pleasing. She didn’t disappoint either of us or our family. We give Joy the top amount of stars and beyond!

    But if I can leave you with one thing. I want something to be a visual marker of the day we committed our lives... a visual cement so to speak! Something that captured the essence of our hearts vows and unwavering love through any storm. Whenever we have a tough day or week, I look at those photos and the fire re-ignites! She captured our souls, our love, the emotions of that day! That you cannot put a price on!!!

    I loved working with Joy Marie Photography, and plan to use her in the future for family albums. I've recommended her to several friends and family and they absolutely love her work. She is truly special and a joy to work with! She is extrememly talented, and has the best personality...I wouldn't chose anyone else!

    Absolutely worth every penny and more. If you love journalistic photography then Joy is the photographer for you. She even traveled from Tennessee to the Napa Valley to work our event. Her work is a crafted like a Lexus :) Her customer service and professionalism is like Lexus too :)

    Joy Marie is hands down the best of the best! She made us feel extremely comfortable during the whole process. We ended up borrowing this nice ladies blueberry farm. When we were finished Joy sent the lady some professional shots of her grounds. That just justifies that Joy truly is classy lady.

    Joy and her team are awesome. I would definitely recommend them.

    What makes them exceptional?

    - Extremely flexible: We couldn't make our original appointment time for our engagement shots and with less than a weeks notice she changed our shooting time to our only available time, New Years morning!
    - Very professional: Joy and her team are extremely organized, and responsive. We didn't have to worry about a thing. They answered all our questions and kept us informed and updated at all times.
    - Goes the extra mile: She visited our wedding location before the wedding day to check out great locations to shoot. We didn't even know that she had done that until the location manager told us our photographer had stopped by.
    - Very friendly: Not only did we feel very comfortable around Joy and her team, but so did our family. On our wedding she took the initiative to introduce herself to our family members.
    - Beautiful pictures: I love our pictures!!
    - Knows us and knows the area: I'm from out of town so I wasn't too familiar with the area, but based on our personalities she picked out the perfect locations for our engagement and wedding shots.
    - Great Price: Lets just say we got ALOT for what we paid. The pictures were amazing. She spent our entire wedding day with us and everybody was super professional and friendly.

    I continue to recieve compliments on my wedding photos, a year after our big event. In fact, people who attended our wedding, who have not only seen our photos, but have also seen Joy in action, recommend her to family, friends, and co-workers.
