We loved Jim. Jim was professional, friendly and so easy & fun to work with. You can tell he loves what he does and loves working with couples to capture their story. And his photos are breathtakingly beautiful.
We met Jim at a wedding fair that we were just wandering around with our wedding planner for fun. We already had in mind who we wanted to hire so we definitely weren’t looking for a photographer at this fair. We came across Jim’s booth and we instantly clicked with him. The very first question Jim asked was “how important are pictures to you?” which immediately stuck out to me because I feel pictures are one of the most critical parts to capture your day. Looking at his portfolio we were blown away by his pictures and loved his style. We had a great conversation and left feeling like we just made a lifelong friend.
Jim was on top of everything at the wedding. He was punctual, kept other people moving and seemed to be everywhere to capture all the moments even though he’s only one man. He also took the time to sit down and show us our photos as it’s own little event when they were ready which was such an amazing touch. We can’t recommend him enough and feel like we got so lucky stumbling upon him at a random fair. -

Working with Jim as our wedding photographer was a great experience from the first contact through the hand delivery of the wedding album. He responded immediately to our request offering several options for an initial meeting in which he laid out his working style and a road map for the wedding and production of the album. We looked at a few other similarly priced local photographers and noticed immediately the quality, artistry and craftsmanship of Jim's work really stood out, and he seemed genuinely excited to work with us. We felt we were in good hands. Jim worked with our limitations, always offering ideas to make the most of what we had to work with based on budget, location, timeline etc. During the wedding Jim worked nimbly and fast, capturing the full wedding party in a relaxed and natural posture. We are not accustomed to posing so it was helpful that Jim was able to recommend lots of different "looks" and poses that gave us a beautiful classic look to our photos. Afterwards Jim met with us in our home with some family to view the images on the big screen. We also had a chance to look at several options for a physical wedding album. There was even an option to simply purchase the raw digital files, but based on Jim's excellent sense of layout and design we decided it would be best to let him produce the wedding album. The album itself was finished in a week or two and came out so great, it was the perfect way to remember our wedding day. We highly recommend Jim Vetter Photography -

This review is long overdue!!! Hiring Jim to photograph our wedding was such a god send! He was referred to us by friends who had used him the year before for their wedding. I had contacted several other photographers before asking friends for a reference. They were all outrageously priced, divas, or unavailable. I’m so glad it didn’t work out with any of them. Jim was so flexible and accommodating. Not to mention the quality of his photography was just superb. The only thing you are left with after the wedding is the pictures, so they better be great! I truly could not recommend Jim more. Thanks again for everything!! -

Jim Vetter Photography was one of our best wedding decisions.
He came highly recommended by a good friend. We were quickly on the same page and shaping the experience we wanted. He knew the venue and had great ideas all along the way.
Jim is professional, a pleasure to work with, and brings a great team.
The photos are fantastic! And of course, he's now doing our good friend's wedding who was a bride's maid.

Jim works magic with his photography
Jim lived up to his reviews on Wedding Wire. Our wedding venue had given us a list of approved photographers which Jim was not yet on. After researching those photographers and then coming across his name on Wedding Wire we knew we he was the one for us and we immediately got him approved. There is just a little extra touch of magic to his photography. We could not be more happy with how our photographs turned out as well as with the way he interacted with guests. Thank you Jim! -

Jim photographed my wedding proposal at a winery in Napa Valley. From the start, Jim was responsive, excited and helpful in preparation for my surprise proposal. I live in New York and hadn't met Jim until the day of our shoot so his prompt online communication made a big difference.
We had arranged a plan to take surprise pictures outside at a specific place at the winery. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate. Rain poured the morning of the proposal putting a crux in our plan. Without flinching, Jim was able to come up with a new plan on the fly keeping his composure and recommending solutions when unforeseen circumstances arose- exactly what you want on one of the most important days of your life. With a new strategy in place, I proceeded with the proposal (she said yes!) and Jim was able to successfully capture the moment.
Not only was Jim able to capture the exact moment I proposed, he also had creative ideas for pictures/ angles afterward. With emotions flying, Jim was able to channel our excitement and bring out natural and passionate poses. We felt comfortable being around Jim and taking part in his vision for the shoot. -

Judy Sent on 12/05/2017I called so many wedding photographers 2 months before my wedding and no one can help me meet my budget. Jim was the last one I called a week before my big day. I told Jim how much my budget and the size of my wedding ceremony. He quoted me a prize and told him honestly how much I can afford. He called me back and told me he will meet my budget since he wanted to be part of my special day and wanted to help me. I was so happy! The day of my wedding Jim was there first at the city hall in San Rafael. He was very professional and so patient with my 5 year old daughter when taking photos from the begging till the end. I did not wait long to get the photos back. I love all the wedding photos. I’m so happy of the result. Thank you very much Jim Vetter for making my day extra special. I have beautiful photos to look at for years to come.

He takes any setting and makes in into a masterpiece, especially with natural lighting! We spent approximately 4 hours just getting to know him and the camera for out engagement photo session and are thrilled with the results! Can't wait for our wedding day and will feel at ease with knowing we can trust him. Don't make the mistake of not choosing him, you won't regret it !!!
**** POST WEDDING - boy did Jim and his assistant Beth go above and beyond for our most special day! Professional, courteous, FUN, artistic and patient. We just received some preview pictures (not even 1 week after wedding) and we are stunned by the beauty and uniqueness!!

Ben Sent on 11/12/2014Jim is so much more than a wedding photographer—he takes the time to really understand who you are. From our engagement photo shoot in San Francisco to our wedding in the redwoods of Santa Cruz, Jim perfectly captured every moment of our celebration.
We were blown away not just by the end product (which is stunning!), but by how Jim personally took the time to guide us every step of the way, including scouting out the wedding location ahead of time for perfect photo opportunities, figuring out exactly where the sunlight would be on the day of the wedding, and being always present but never pushy on our special day.
We can't recommend Jim highly enough. He even came through with a terrific photo montage and put a video online the day after our wedding, so we could share it with loved ones who weren't able to attend. And of course, we treasure the amazingly beautiful leather-bound photo album Jim put together for us—he made sure we got all of our favorite shots in, and artfully told the story of the whole wedding weekend in perfect image after image. -

As the bride, what I mean by that is you will be able to relax and know that Jim will take care of you and trust that all your dream shots will come true. The quality, professionalism and the undeniably impeccable wedding shots he captured on our special day were out of this world amazing. Jim made all my dreams come true and if you decide to choose him on your special day, I promise you will have an equally amazing experience. I did my share of shopping around, but Jim won me over with his charisma and the quality of his work!!! For me, that was the most important. You have to choose a photographer who makes you feel at ease and beautiful, and Jim was just the right fit.
