Janis was wonderful to work with. She made us feel comfortable, was very knowledgeable and attentive throughout the entire process, and just a lot of fun to have around! But above all else, her photos show what she really has to offer. Our wedding photos are incredible, and they really speak to who we are as a couple. Janis captured all the right moments and managed to keep things fun and playful (which is what we had asked for!). She offers a very affordable package, and the work is just spectacular. Trying to plan a destination wedding is both exciting and frightening, because you really don’t know much about your officiant, hair or make-up artist, or your photographer. I had no need to worry. The weather was perfect, the officiant made us feel we had known him for years, the hair and make-up stylist was awesome, and Janis Foley brought it all together in some beautiful, lasting memories!

We were VERY pleased with Janis' work. She was super-friendly and easy to work with, and even the guests and the venue manager remarked on how much fun she was. She made sure to find out what was important to us so she could focus on what we wanted. Janis is always available by cell phone and email, so whenever we had a question we had an answer right away. She has clearly been doing this a long time, and her work shows it. Our current problem is narrowing down the great shots to an album. There are too many incredible ones to choose from. For some people her prices may cause some sticker shock, but we found her worth every penny and then some.

Janis Foley provided awesome wedding photography services for our wedding, going above and beyond to get great photos. We had an outdoor afternoon wedding, with an indoor reception that went into the evening. The variety of lighting from afternoon, to sunset, to evening, to night and from outdoor to indoor usually causes havoc for photographers (some of my friends ended up with a lack of evening photos from their receptions, and the ones they did get were very dark or off-colored), but ours turned out absolutely stunning. And trust me, we aren't the naturally photogenic sort. Janis climbed through the foliage and managed to silently move around the wedding site, getting some perspectives that we never knew she shot until we saw the pictures. She spoke with us before hand and planned out the sorts of photos we wanted (in terms of posed versus photo-journalistic), and made sure she got a list of non-typical photos that we might want with special guests. She was very accommodating with our crazy work schedules, meeting us on short notice when we had availability. She was very accommodating with our desire to not have the bride and groom see each other until the wedding, shooting separate shots before the ceremony. She also was great at getting creative with the wedding venue, as it had rained the day before and we had to change some of the outdoor photos sites as they were muddy. With a great sense of humor, she managed to keep even the crankiest bridesmaid in good spirits through the hour of photos (the cocktail hour for everyone else), and expertly managed both the crowds of people and the time. I think we were the only people in our group of friends to actually hold to our wedding schedule and not take more than the allotted time on photos. By bringing a secondary photographer with her to the wedding, we got plenty of coverage and several perspectives. Highly recommended!

My new wife and me got married on La Jolla beach on Nov. 5th 2009. We had never met Janice and were not sure what to expect. When we arrived at the beach Janice pulled up right on time and imediately made us feel relaxed and not so nervous. She imediately started snapping pictures and had great ideas of how to get the perfect shot every time. She was brilliant with the lighting, the sunset and my wife in her dress. By the time we were done with the ceremony, Janice guided us through our own private photo shoot right on the beach. We had a blast, laughing, goofing around and she just made it SO much fun. She spent alot of extra time with us and took so many photos with multiple cameras. Janice takes the time to develop the photos so that they all turn out perfect, when we got them from her on a disk we had them developed and they turned out amazing. We have so many pictures for the price we paid it's crazy. I suggest listening to the ideas Janice has for certain shots and if you just go with the flow you will not be disappointed. Janis is great. Her work online is amazing! I just got married last week, so we haven't seen our photos yet but I can't wait! She was so patient and very knowledgeable! My husband HATES photos but he hung in there for Janis. She made the time go by quickly and kept him involved. She was very professional but not stuffy. I would recommend Janis to anyone for any event!

Janis is friendly, professional, has very high energy, and great photographer! Our wedding photos were so nice and we got so many compliments on them. It is very important to choose a good photographer for your wedding because regardless of the imperfections that happen that day (there is at least one in every wedding no matter how hard you work to make it perfect) pictures are the only thing that stays forever and if your photographer is good, you will have wonderful beautiful photos to share with your kids!!

When I scheduled my appointment with Janis my Husband and I wanted to be in and out of the office asap. It was important to us to meet with other Photographers so we did not want to attach ourselves to anyone. Vendors are Vendors and in my opinion employees of mine. We brought our Son and Dog along with us assuming we would only be in her office, for our initial meeting, for just a few minutes. Instead we stayed and talked with her for 2.5 hours. When she went out to get her business card for us my Husband looked at me and said "Hire her, today, now." I smiled and said "You got it Honey."
When we wanted to shoot our engagement photos at the San Diego County Fair, Janis was excited and more than accomidating. We shot photos for hours not because we paid for the time but because we were all having so much fun at the Fair.
We had planned a large wedding with over 250 guests and two months prior to the wedding canceled it. Changed plans and gave Janis a weeks notice on where the wedding would take place.
Janis took everything in stride and never once complained about anything. She was wonderful in shooting our wedding. Our photos are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! She captured our non-traditional, relaxed, and unstructured day perfectly. We asked our guests to stand around us while we took our vows. Janis took this in stride as well and captured our Family and our special moments beautifully. She also took the last picture of my Father In Law before he died. We are so thankful for that photo because he was happy, smiling, and healthy on our special day.
If you are looking for a photographer who is passionate about what she does Janis is your woman. She will make everyone relaxed enough to enjoy the day. She fades into the moment and captures it wonderfully.
