Amazing Bridal Glam!

Adriana did an incredible job on my hair & makeup for my wedding in Petaluma! I looked flawless even at the after party, which was 10+ hours after glam was done. The Powder Room was super easy to communicate with and I found them to be affordable for the services they offered.

Best hair and makeup

I absolutely adored my experience with The Powder room! I used them for my wedding From start to finish, the team was professional, knowledgeable, and truly talented. They helped create beautiful looks for both my mother and my mother-in-law, and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out.
They also did stunning hair for all of my bridesmaids. Each bridesmaid had the chance to chat with Jen and collaborate on a hairstyle that perfectly suited their hair texture and dress, which made everyone feel so confident and special.
Jen was amazing—polite, friendly, and so easy to talk to. She fit right in with us and genuinely felt like part of the fun on such a special day. I have nothing but wonderful things to say and would highly recommend them to any bride looking for a seamless, joyful, and beautiful bridal experience!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Deeanna and the experience I had with the Powder Room! My hair and makeup was more perfect than I ever could have imagined on my wedding day!! She listened to what I wanted, she made me feel completely at ease, and brought my vision to life in the most beautiful way!! I felt confident, stunning, and like the best version of myself. Couldn’t have been more perfect!

Go. See. Heather. Book her, yesterday. She has been the sweetest soul; fun, real, and talented is a given with such a professional and beautiful salon. Heather and I did a hair and makeup trial, we did my cut and color closer to our wedding date, and we had her come to our venue for the bridal party. She was on time, flexible with our space and chaos, and everyone looked fantastic. She is even in some of our getting ready photos, and just felt like home having her be a part of our day. I guess I need to speak more on her ability, but with knowing her the last year I have fallen so comfortable and trusting in her that I can say with confidence that you won’t be disappointed if you chose The Powder Room. The entire salon is cozy, everyone is kind, and the cost was well worth every bit we received. Through crying, a ton of wind, photos, and dancing, after 8 hours I still looked phenomenal.

Everything from booking, trial day of and what not was TOP NOTCH!! I’m so so happy I choose the Powder Room for my October 2025 wedding. Jen helped me through the entire process and listens to my requests about what i looked like on the big day, along with Ellie at the front guiding the way and explaining how it all goes down! The day of was a DREAM the ladies jumped right in keeping the conversation flowing and providing the best services! Just great vibes all around! Seriously if you are looking this is your place! The Powder Room to the Rescue!

I had planned my wedding while I was in treatment for breast cancer and despite not feeling like myself, from the treatment and hair loss, DeeAnna from The Powder Room styled my wig, added lashes and made me feel beautiful and confident again for my special day.

Good value for natural makeup look

Jen and her assistant did a lovely job with everyone's hair and makeup! I wanted a more natural but elevated look and they honored that and executed it beautifully. Additionally they put in enough hairspray into everyone's hair to withstand quite a bit of wind on our wedding day!! They were very efficient, professional, easy to work with, and were a good value for services provided!

Great for my wedding party!

I hired the Powder Room to help with my very large wedding party, and they were absolutely incredible. My bridesmaids loved working with Tisha, Julie, and Shona, and they brought great energy to kick off the day! I was so impressed at how well they handled our large party in a relatively small space and stayed right on schedule (in fact, they finished early!). Amazing. Best in the business

I'm almost a year late in my review but better late than never. I planned my wedding in June of last year and holy moly the powder room is so amazing. I worked with DeeAnna and her team and they were all amazing. To start, the person who emails is super responsive and helpful. I then had a trial with DeeAnna and it was great. She is super personable, kind, and just incredible at what she does. The day of my wedding I did decide to go bigger on the lashes and she adjusted and it was just perfect. I looked stunning (if I do so say myself). She was incredible. The other tricky part for her was that I needed my updo to stay put even during our first dance which included three acrobatic tricks. IT DID NOT MOVE. The other key piece of information is my hair is long and heavy and I never once got a headache from my hair do. I seriously wished I lived closer so that I could have her do my hair and make up for every event. It would be so worth it. I also want to add that with my hair being long and heavy when I have had people do my hair in the past it doesn't go well because they never listen and use enough hairspray. DeeAnna completely listened. I truly cannot recommend her enough. I still look back at my wedding photos and included a hair shot in my wedding album because I loved how it turned out so much.

Fantastic experience

Haley at the powder room did a phenomenal job with my makeup for my wedding day. I very rarely wear makeup and wanted a very natural look. Not only did she nail what I wanted on her first try at the makeup trial 6 months prior, but she flawlessly repeated it on the day of my wedding. My photos are beautiful, and I felt amazing, but still myself, and my entire bridal party looked gorgeous as well. She is also just very sweet and fun to work with. Highly recommend!

Timeless and Classy wedding hair and makeup

I didn't know it was possible to feel as beautiful as I did on my wedding day, and that wouldn't be possible without The Powder Room--specifically Heather Romero and her assistant Sherri. I came out of my trial not feeling great about where we landed on my hair. I sent Heather some photos and gave really specific feedback and she listened to everything I said and totally exceeded expectations on the wedding day. My hair and makeup were flawless all night--no touchups needed! My bridesmaids also looked stunning and everyone was really happy with their experience working with Heather and Sherri.

DeeAnna and team were fab!

DeeAnna and team were absolute rockstars at our wedding! From the quote, to the trial, to the touch up- I felt very at ease the entire process. DeeAnna and her team were ready promptly at 8am and I believe were out of there at 11/1130 for 11 of us. I worked directly with DeeAnna- she was professional, took feedback gracefully and was an advocate with my bridal party/family to help follow what I wanted. She was so calming during the touch up too and made me feel very special!

Loved my hair and makeup!

I worked with DeeAnna from the Powder Room and I absolutely loved her! We did a trial before the wedding and I was so so happy with how everything looked but decided to make an adjustment to my hair style. She was super helpful before the wedding to talk me through making that change and sent me numerous photos so I could get a better idea of how it would look! I love love love the way my hair and makeup turned out on my wedding day and was exactly what I envisioned. My bridesmaids also looked stunning and they were so impressed with the entire Powder Room team and their work. Even though it rained on my wedding day everyone said how great my hair and make up held up and I am so happy I decided to work with the Powder Room! Could not recommend enough!

The Best Artists

DeeAnna and her assistant were absolutely amazing makeup and hair stylists/artists. They were super personable and followed the trial run and adapted to any setback flawlessly. They were super attentive to the fine details and style for the wedding while letting each girl’s personality to shine through. Their skills were top-notch. The hair and makeup lasted 12 hours through hours of photos, drinks, and dancing.

Elyse was so great to work with! I had my group of bridesmaids, two moms and grandma all get their hair and makeup done along with myself. We had a bit of a mishap in our getting ready room involving fire sprinklers 😣 which totally changed the tone for the day but Elyse handled it like a pro! The Powder Room was great!

Santa Rosa Powder room was so sweet to work with for my wedding. I had to postpone from June 2020 to March 2022 and they were so flexible and kind the whole time. Ashley and her team were amazing. I opted for the elopement package (no trial), which felt risky, but I have no regrets – everything looked amazing and just like the inspiration pictures I showed. I texted Ashley a few weeks before the wedding with a photo of myself to see what lipstick color she would recommend– she suggested Charlotte Tillbury Pillow Talk and it was so perfect, I am so impressed she was able to match it so well, even just from a photo. They helped me, my bridal party, mom, mother-in-law, and sister-in-laws all get ready with hair & makeup for the big day and we had so much fun chatting with them. We all felt so beautiful and confident and the pictures looked amazing.

Hair and Makeup was Perfect, Lasted All Day in 100 Degree Heat

DeeAnna was so amazing to work with! Easy communication, friendly and very responsive. On the day of my wedding, she arrived exactly on time and finished our hair and makeup in the expected timeframe. The hair and makeup was so beautiful and exactly what we wanted! I've had hair and makeup done at other weddings before and have never really been that pleased, but DeAnna did such a fantastic job - I've never looked or felt more beautiful! Such a great experience!

DeeAnna and her team are amazing! They did such an incredible job with the hair and makeup for my wedding. They traveled to our Airbnb which made it so easy on the day. I also highly recommend doing the bridal hair and makeup trial as I wasn't fully sure what I wanted and ended up tweaking a couple things on the day-of. In addition to my bridesmaids, they also did hair and makeup for my sister-in-law, my mom, and a number of my mom's friends who wanted to try it out. Some came armed with inspiration photos and others just asked them to do whatever they thought would look best. Everyone was so happy with the results! DeeAnna wasn't phased by the different ages, hair lengths, style choices, or skin tones of those involved - we were all very impressed. My sister-in-law has been in a lot of weddings and has had mediocre hair/makeup done many times but said that DeeAnna was really one of the best experiences she's had. Our hair and makeup looked great all night! It was a warm day and all I had to do was dab on a little bit of powder once or twice throughout the night if I thought I was getting shiny. I can't recommend The Powder Room enough!

Wonderful!

I worked with Jen and her team for my wedding in July and they were absolutely a joy to work with! We did a trial run prior to the big day and got to test all different sorts of hairstyles and makeup applications. I sent a ton of feedback to Jen after the appointment, and she took note of everything for the big day! They arrived early and had all hair and makeup done (bride + 6 bridesmaids) on time. The hair and makeup looked great- all hair stayed in place and the makeup wasn’t heavy or cakey. They let us customize our hairstyles so that everyone could do something different. I highly recommend working with Jen and team!

Classic Beauty

My husband and I had our wedding at the end of July and The Powder Room was able to do my bridal hair and makeup along with my 4 bridesmaids, our officiant, MOB, MOG, & SMOG. We had 3 stylists which was perfect for our size party. We were not rushing to get the venue because everyone was done before we needed to leave. Pre-COVID we had a different stylist but DeeAnn was able to give me a new trail and ended up being much more my style. She was so professional and made me feel calm on the day of. I felt so beautiful and got so many compliments on how amazing both my hair and makeup was.

Exquisite hair & makeup!

After my original hair & makeup artist backed out three weeks before the event, Dee from The Powder Room saved the day! Tisha and her partner were even better than our original vendor!! Tisha took the time to understand my vision, and executed it FLAWLESSLY. I have never felt more beautiful nor more myself than I did on my wedding day. I don’t know if anyone could have done it better.

I'm so grateful for The Powder Room's flexibility, professionalism, and artistry - I’d recommend them (especially Tisha!) to any Sonoma Bride!!

Fantastic, warm stylist who made me feel like the absolute prettiest version of myself

I booked Heather to do my hair and makeup for both myself and my mom for my wedding in Guernevilla, California, and it was absolutely wonderful. I've had my hair and makeup done for other weddings and have never quite felt like "myself." Both my mom and I are pretty wash and wear kind of people, and Heather did such an amazing job of making us feel comfortable.

During my trial I talked to her about what I was thinking. She was awesome about listening and trying different things. I really felt the most beautiful I've ever felt on my wedding day. I was a COVID bride, and so many of my friends weren't able to be there with me on that day, but even via a Zoom call before I walked down the aisle (and even after I got home), I got so many compliments on my hair and makeup. Heather is not only a great stylist, but she is a warm, engaging person who is fun to hang out with...killer combo.

Simply the BEST

Our elopement planner put me in touch with Deanna. I easily booked a hair trial a few days before. Deanna was so easy to talk to and listened to my ideas as to how I wanted my hair. I was so pleased with the hair and makeup trial...and it lasted all day! The day of our wedding she came to our hotel and recreated the look I loved all over again. Again, the hair and makeup stayed "put and perfect" all day (and throughout a slightly windy ceremony.) Her skills and professionalism are unmatched!

I worked with DeeAnna (and 2 assistants for my bridesmaids/moms) and I feel so lucky! I have quite a few allergies to makeup products and DeeAnna was so diligent and thoughtful in helping me find products that would work for the wedding day. We also did 2 hair trials as I just couldn't quite decide what I wanted and on the day of she really helped get the look just as I wanted, making me feel like me! DeeAnna (one of the owners) and her lovely assistant did my hair and makeup, along with two bridesmaids, my mom, and my mother-in-law for my wedding on 6.14.19. All I can say is that Dee is a freaking hair and makeup wizard. I went in for a trial a few months before the we dding and then changed my mind (of course), so I was a little nervous about going a different direction on my wedding day. Pure perfection!

Deanna and crew were fabulous. They have an intimate understanding of how to style make everyone look and few beautiful, and understand that it’s different for each person. Not to mention that they are just great people and a blast to work with. We all laughed ourselves silly sitting there chatting while getting our hair and makeup done. Being able to find someone who is both great at the service they provide and also had a crew of friendly and easy going people makes the experience so great.

I was unsure of what I wanted for my hair, and Deanna was endlessly patient during the trial when we tried more styles than I could count. When I eventually thought I’d decided on having my hair down and curly, she suggested that I wear my hair similarly to my next dress fitting to see if I liked how it worked with the dress. I’m SO glad she suggested this because trying the dress with my hair down (I’d always had it up for fittings) convinced me that up was the way to go. And on my wedding day I wore it up and was so happy I did.

Beyond that, I have unreasonably thick and heavy hair. Deanna was able to get it up, and very solidly held there so it didn’t fall out and didn’t hurt - a big big task.

I’d hands down recommend working with this crew!

Powder Room made me feel like a queen

I was never that little girl who grew up dreaming about her fairytale wedding. I was preparing to DIY hair and makeup for my big day but then I started thinking that maybe hair and makeup would really make it extra special and my goodness and I glad I did. Heather and the Powder Room team are amazing. They're super talented, super lovely to be around, and super on-it. I went in to my trial a few weeks ago without much in the way of examples or ideas. I walked out of the salon looking like a model. Heather is also just like a real person who you can talk with---so collaborating with her on my look was easy. The day of the wedding was a soaker and she helped make sure that my hair was going to make it through the event. She also did an updo for my niece who might have the most thick, dense hair in the Northern Hemisphere and she killed it. My niece said she felt "really pretty" :) Heather also made makeup was also stunning. All in all I was super happy with the whole experience and would absolutely recommend Heather and the Powder Room team for your big day.

DeeAnna transformed me into a goddess! My makeup was absolutely stunning, I have never felt so beautiful in my entire life. I had a wonderful experience at the Powder Room for my bridal hair and makeup. The wedding coordinator was extremely professional and accommodating in not only fitting me into their already busy schedule with only a two month notice, but also when I needed to change the time of my appointment for the day of our wedding.

At the Powder Room I had the pleasure of working with Corrinne. When we first met for my trial we discussed my dress, my likes and dislikes, and went over a few photos that I had brought along. Then she worked her magic. In just under two hours Corrinne had taken my hair and makeup vision and made it into a reality. The wedding day was even easier and I couldn’t have been happier; she definitely exceeded my expectations. Corrinne is incredibly professional, easy to talk to, and fun to work with!

Overall, my experience at the Powder Room was incredibly positive and I am grateful for all the hard work that went into making our wedding day even more special!

This review is long overdue but I wanted to take the time to thank DeeAnna for her excellent service. I had about 5 consultations with other hairdressers/makeup artists before finding her and she was by far the best. She did a great job listening to what I wanted and helping figure out what would look best on me. I really wanted someone to look at my features and tell me what would work best and she did just that. I think that is really hard to do and goes to show just how great she is at her job. She is really talented and I would highly recommend her.

I booked DeeAnna and Jen (the owners) for my small wedding in Napa – hair and makeup for myself, mom, sister, and mother-in-law. They were AWESOME! We were SO pleased with the final product and especially how great everyone looked in our wedding photos. DeeAnna was super quick with communications, they arrived on time, and she was flexible when I moved the start time back one hour a month out from the wedding date. (We were married on a Thursday.) Mazie Contreras from It's a Date did the makeup for my wedding and I cannot understate what a wonderful job she did, and under some extreme circumstances.

I was originally planning to get married in Santa Rosa but due to the horrific fires we needed to move our wedding to San Francisco. We fully expected to need to find another makeup artist at the last minute due to the crisis situation and change in venue (all reasonable circumstances), but Mazie still made herself available and traveled to SF for us.

She did the makeup for myself, my best friend/MOH, my mother, and my husband's mom and stepmom. Everyone was so thrilled with how their makeup turned out (which, as a perpetual bridesmaid, I can tell you is rare, especially with a range in ages). She was calm, kind, and asked questions about what we wanted, made helpful (but not forceful) suggestions about what would photograph best, and was just so pleasant and warm that it was a joy to have her around.

I'm so grateful to Mazie for helping carry through some of our original vision as a lot of other pieces shifted. I highly recommend her to other brides!

Elyse was amazing. She made me feel beautiful on my wedding day!!! From the beginning, I couldn't have been happier with the service that I received! When I had to last minute reschedule my hair and make-up trial - she was incredibly flexible. Then, when I showed up for the trial, she made me feel so special and was incredibly attentive. I wanted to go for a natural look - but be my prettiest self, and she nailed it. She also helped me articulate what I really wanted - I wanted my hair to look soft but elegant, and my make-up to be appropriate for an outdoor wedding, but still something a little bit more dramatic than my normal minimal make-up look.
Then - the best was the wedding. Elyse and her assistant did hair and make-up for me, my 2 sisters, my mom, and my husband's mom. I knew she was going to make me look and feel beautiful, but I couldn't believe how stunning everyone in my family looked - and how confident we all felt! Elyse was incredible with listening to the look that everyone wanted and then pulling out the perfect shades from her toolkit for all. I can't speak highly enough of her work!

I LOVED my wedding hair & makeup from It’s a Date! DeeAnna, one of the owners, was our artist. I showed her sample photos and she nailed the look! My mother and sister looked stunning. DeeAnna arrived at our hotel right on time and she brings everything you need… even false eyelashes she trims to suit your wedding style and bobby pins for your veil. Also less expensive than some other artists ($500 for a bride’s hair and makeup is ridiculous). Highly recommend It’s a Date!

It’s A Date did a great job for me, my mom, and my three bridesmaids. Jenifer was fun to work worth and knew how to make us all look beautiful. They were fast and flawless. I felt great and I know my mom did, who was worried that her short hair would be a problem. It was fun to have them come onsite where we were getting ready.

We had a midday wedding at Viansa in Sonoma and planned to get there by 11am; the ladies at It's a Date were more than accommodating arriving bright and early at our hotel before 8am! Whilst we were scoffing on croissants Maizie prepped our hair and Jennifer began our make up.

They were incredibly professional and livened up the room keeping us entertained before the nerves kicked in. We are from the UK so were unable to visit beforehand for a consultation. They worked off photographs from stylists back home and improved them 10 fold.

Our hair and makeup lasted all day and evening even after several glasses of wine and lots of joyful tears.

I could not recommend the team more.

DeeAnna and her team are absolutely AMAZING! I went to The Powder Room a couple of months before my wedding not entirely sure what I wanted to do, and I gave DeeAnna freedom to do whatever she thought. She made me feel absolutely beautiful handling both my hair and makeup. She knows exactly what she is doing, and can trust her entirely. On the day of the wedding, she brought along a team of 3 other women to handle hair and makeup for 12 of us and everyone looked GORGEOUS and we were all finished in about 2.5 hours - that's fast! I can't say enough amazing things about DeeAnna and her team. Any bride will be more than happy with this decision!

I had the best experience with Deanna and her hair/makeup stylists! Deanna is amazing and understands how to apply makeup for a wedding, particularly considering how the makeup will photograph and the need for it to stay on for hours and hours. Deanna is incredibly punctual and flexible. She did not blink an eye when I decided last minute to change my hair style on the day of my wedding. She was incredibly calm, confident and honest about what would work and why/why not. I’m so happy that I found It’s a Date! As someone who didn’t want to look “done up” and wanted a natural look for my wedding day, I was really nervous about getting my hair and makeup done. Those nerves were totally misplaced! Mary was easygoing from the minute I met her for the trial and was perfectly laid back on the day of the wedding. She worked with me to find a makeup look that worked for me, and even convinced me to wear false lashes (amazing!). My makeup turned out great and stayed put for the whole event, through sweat and sun and lots of tears. I loved the updo that Mary did for me at the trial, and was even more impressed with the lovely waterfall braid she did for me when I changed my mind at the last minute on the day of the wedding. She was very confident and accommodating, and is clearly very knowledgeable about what she does! I would absolutely recommend this salon to any bride who wants to feel like the best version of herself on her wedding day. Thank you Mary and It’s a Date!!

Deanna is amazing!!! She listened to what I wanted and nailed my makeup on the first attempt during the trial run. I was really unsure of how I wanted my hair, and she was really patient with me as we tried out different options. When I was having a hard time articulating what I liked/didn't like, she helped me talk it out until ultimately we got to place I was happy with! On the morning of my wedding, she came to my hotel with an assistant to do hair and makeup, and they were both rockstars! They were super accommodating and fit in an extra hair and makeup for a bridesmaid who originally hadn't requested those services. They were really patient with all of the many requests of a bridal party on the day of a wedding, and did it all with a smile :) I highly recommend Deanna and It's A Date!

I had Mary come to our wedding venue to do both my hair and make-up. Since I was doing a destination wedding, I was not able to do a run through before the wedding or meet Mary before the day of. I was extremely happy with everything on the day of. She was very nice and great at offering suggestions and taking all of my feedback. Being from Phoenix, AZ and planning our wedding in Sonoma, CA, I was most nervous about my hair and makeup. Of course, as the bride, I wanted to look perfect, but I had no idea where to even start my search for professionals to help me the day of our wedding. Thankfully, my wedding planner sent me to It's A Date at the Powder Room. Heather Romero did my hair and makeup and she was awesome! I met with her on a trip up there in February and even though she was pregnant and sick, she still came to meet me and do my trial. I was so grateful to her because I was only in town for that one day. Her true professionalism and willingness to go that extra mile made me know that I was in good hands for our wedding day. Heather and her assistant did the hair and makeup for eight of us the day of our wedding, and everyone looked stunning. The girls felt comfortable, they enjoyed working with them, and they made everyone depart for our wedding feeling calm and confident. Heather really listened to what I was wanting, she worked with my extremely long and thick hair, and she produced an end result that was exactly what I was looking for. I really appreciated her promptness and willingness to make sure I felt and looked beautiful on my big day. I would recommend It's A Date to any bride getting married in wine country and if I got to go back and do it again, I would definitely hire them all over.

I feel so fortunate that I was able to get my wedding hair and make-up done at the Powder Room! I was an out of town bride that had never before seen or met with any of these ladies – except for over the phone! I went solely off of reviews and a recommendation from my wedding planner – which is why I am writing a review – because I want to make sure I help all the other ladies that are in the same boat out!!

I opted for the “trial run” and “day of” package as a way to ease my mind about the look I would get on my wedding day! Truthfully, I did not need a trial run – because they were SOOOOOO awesome --- but I would still recommend it because I had my hair and makeup done for my rehearsal and welcome dinner too!! She even did a different style so that I did not have the “same” style for both events. Really it is just a great way for you both to get on the same page and for them to play with your hair and make sure that they understand exactly what it is that you want and need.

In addition, we had them come to our hotel and do hair and make-up for my whole wedding party! I know that the $30 “travel” fee may seem to add to all of the other things that you have already spent – but it is SOOOOOOO worth it! Seriously! I spent my wedding morning/afternoon in a robe sipping mimosas with all my bridesmaids – what a great way to start off such a fun and memorable night – and we didn’t have to worry about traffic or running late because we were already in the room where we were all going to get ready! In addition, they made all of my girls look stunningly gorgeous! Seriously – I wish that I could have them do my hair and make-up every day – it was such a fun and great experience! Make sure you book with them today!!!

Katie D. and Mary D. provided Bridal Hair and Makeup for me and my 3 bridesmaids and my mom. They were prompt and professional and (most important!) completely saw my vision for the bridal party. I'm a short girl and very much value the art of the bouffant. I wanted to have a classic chignon to complement my simple veil but didn't want to miss out on having a bouffant. I had a trial run with Katie a few months before the wedding and she showed me that I didn't have to settle for one or the other. She was open to giving me multiple options and even had a veil that I could try on for effect. On the day of the wedding Katie worked her magic and gave me gorgeous wedding hair that went perfectly with my tea length wedding dress. Mary diligently worked with my bridesmaids to give them each a 50's inspired hairdo that made them feel confident and BEAUTIFUL. The makeup was classic and subtle and looked perfect for the entire evening. My mom, who shies away from makeup and fancy hair, looked absolutely gorgeous and had an air of confidence that could not be ignored. There is something to be said for a hair and makeup artist who can accentuate the already beautiful features of each individual lady and transform her into a vision of grace and confidence. Katie and Mary worked with absolute grace under pressure. They were so attentive and patient. I would absolutely hire them again. And recommend them to everyone I know who needs professional services for a special event.

The ladies at It's a Date were fantastic! I was a little nervous since we were planning from a far and I had not done a Bridal hair or make up preview. They came out to the house we renting for our wedding weekend and did a perfect job on both my hair and my make up. Katie did my hair and make-up for my wedding, and she and her team also did my mom and all my bridesmaids.

They were AWESOME. I am not someone who normally wears makeup or does much of anything with my hair - so I wasn't terribly comfortable with the whole process. Katie was fantastic all the way through. She did two trials with me before the big day, and was super fun and helpful all the way through.

All my girls loved what she did - I can't recommend her highly enough. She's a total pro - and her low-stress, "everything is under control" demeanor is exactly what you want on the morning of the big day!

The full name is, "It's a Date at The Powder Room". Alisa Norstrom did my daughter's hair and make-up and mine as well. Totally worth every penny. For the preview, Alisa really listened to what Laine wanted and did a beautiful job. On the wedding day Alisa drove over to where we stayed in Bodega Bay and did our hair and make-up at the house. The make-up they do is specifically designed to look good for photography. Alisa arrived at 12:00 and we were both done by 2:15-2:30, in time to get dressed and ready for prewedding pictures at 3:00. If you have 4 or more people, they usually provide a second stylist. I have the type of hair that frizzes to two times normal volume, but Alisa had some sort of miracle product that completely calmed my hair down. Both my daughter and I could not have been more pleased with the results. We wanted to take Alisa home with us!!

Mary was the stylist who did hair and make-up for my bridal party, and she was fabulous. I went for a hair and makeup trial prior to our engagement shoot, and though Mary did exactly what I had asked her to do, I was not entirely happy with the results. So we loosened the curls to make it a bit more casual for the engagement shoot, and I decided I would go home and give a little more thought to the look I wanted on the wedding day. When Mary and her assistant showed up on the day of the wedding, I explained that I wanted softer curls and more subtle makeup than I had during the trial, and Mary had no trouble making those adjustments. I was SO happy with the outcome; my hair and makeup still looked professionally done and very special, but I felt I looked much more like myself. I also really appreciated Mary’s flexibility on the day of the wedding. One of my bridesmaids did not initially want to have her makeup done professionally, but as she watched the other girls getting made up, she loved the results and asked whether they could add her to the schedule. They were able to make this adjustment easily, and we still wrapped up on time. We were all really happy with our hair and makeup, and it photographed beautifully!

Jennifer and Heather were a pleasure to work with for my May wedding! They had done the hair and make-up for my sister's wedding a few years back and were outstanding and easy to work with for my wedding as well. Heather did my hair and make-up and she really listened and worked through my trial to achieve exactly what I wanted. She also nailed it with adding in clip-in extensions that I brought on my wedding day that we hadn't used in the make-up trial. I'm glad we worked with Its a Date at the Powder Room.

My partner and I got married in Santa Rosa last weekend and had Corinne and Sheilah from The Powder Room do our hair and make up – they did such a wonderful job! They came to our respective hotel rooms on time, well prepared and stuck to the timeline that we gave them perfectly. I was so happy with the ladies at "The Powder Room" They took such good care of me and my bridesmaids for my wedding. They really kept me distracted and I was able to relax and enjoy myself. Mary Belieu did my hair and makeup for my wedding at Trentadue in August. she is amazing! I live in Chicago so it made planning a little bit difficult, but she was always willing to work around my schedule. We first met when she did my hair and make-up for my engagement pics in August 2012 and I looked amazing! Then she did my wedding trial in May and also did one for my mom who was very nervous. It was so much fun and she got everything dead on the first try! The weekend of the wedding was amazing. She cam e to my hotel on Friday to cul my hair for the rehearsal, and then her and her team did myself, 8 bridesmaids, and 2moms on the day of the wedding. Every single person looked amazing and was very happy with their results. Most of all, I still can not believe how great she made me look and how she helped me relax. Thank you Mary for everything - you are the best!

DeeAnna with It's a Date at The Powder Room was great! I was very nervous about getting my hair and makeup done for the wedding. Living in another state and not being able to go and try different things with hair and make-up I was just trusting that it would all work out the day of the wedding. I cannot explain how happy I was! DeeAnna did an amazing job with our hair and make-up. I felt absolutely beautiful and was so happy.

I had the pleasure of working with Katie Donaghy from It's a Date at the Powder Room for both my hair and makeup trial run before my engagement photos as well as for my wedding day. Katie and her assistant worked extremely hard ensuring that myself and numerous other family members got their dream hair and makeup. Katie is such a fun person to talk with as she is working on you and really listens to what you are envisioning for your wedding day look. She looked at pictures of my wedding dress, ideas I had and also gave her most welcomed input and advice for what she thought would look best and most enhance the entire look and feel of the day. My hair and makeup were perfect; if only I could have Katie with me every day! :) I don't know how she did it but my hair and makeup stayed intact through the entire day, even after pictures outside in hot weather, dancing and of course some happy tears. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Katie and I am very appreciative and pleased with how she made me look.

I cannot recommend DeAnna and her girls enough. Had a beauty trial and immediately knew she was our girl. I even switched up what I wanted day of the ceremony (I'm sure they love it when you do that), and she was super flexible and totally nailed it. I had three bridesmaids and two moms who got their hair did and makeup and everyone looked stunning and everyone was genuinely stoked about how they looked (which, let's be honest, never happens). I was so nervous about getting the hair/makeup right and DeAnna blew it out of the park. My friends said I was the most beautiful bride they'd ever seen, and I have pretty friends :) I felt like a million bucks and I am still getting compliments to this day. Thank you DeAnna!!! I have to add my mom is a non-makeup/no hairdo kind of person. I insisted she get in the chair and let the girls do her up. She didn't want too much but they made her happy which was huge. My mom looked stunning and so did everyone DeAnna touched :)

Katie Donaghy from It's a Date at the Powder Room is truly amazing! She blew me away at my hair and makeup trial with her ability to make my vision come to life quickly and beautifully. On the day of my wedding, she did hair for all three of my bridesmaids, hair and makeup for my mom, and hair and makeup for me. She was incredibly efficient, creative, and sweet, and my whole wedding party was thrilled with the way they looked. My hair and makeup was even more beautiful on the day of the wedding than at the trial, and she made the whole experience stress-free and fun. Katie is a true artist, and she was absolutely a pleasure to work with. I recommend her and the whole salon highly!

Jennifer at It's a Date did a great job with my wedding hair and makeup. I wanted to choose someone that did both hair and makeup and could travel to my hotel in Napa, where I was getting married. This place seemed the most economical option, because even with the travel fee, she was cheaper than a separate hair and makeup person, according to my research.

We had an initial consultation and she listened to my needs and wants patiently. She was very accommodating with some schedule changes I had and showed up on time to my hotel, despite the rain. She also did my mom's hair and makeup and was great with her too. My hair and makeup turned out great! I especially loved what she did with my hair! She is definately a pro at what she does and was very pleasant and calm, which is exactly what you need hours before you get married!

Katie was AMAZING! After my preview we realized my updo was to loose with how I dance so when the wedding day came she took such amazing care to make sure each curl was clipped in so that after my hair was done I jumped around my hotel room like a pogo stick and everything stayed in place......then and 12 hours later! I don't wear makeup and everyone keeps saying how truly beautiful and glowing I was on my wedding day. Katie did such a great job of keeping me natural but highlighting my best features. I felt like a movie star! I have already referred Katie and It's a Date at the Powder Room to another friend who is getting married and I would recommend to anyone who is looking for someone wonderful to do their hair and/or makeup for any occasion!

Katie is the best!!! We had a great time at my trial appointment and she completely got the look I was going for. After looking at my trial pictures for a while I decided I wanted a hair style that was fuller and didn't even tell her until I sat down in the chair on my wedding day and it wasn't an issue, she rolled with it and made me look so beautiful! My makeup was so light and natural with that pop of glam I was looking for, it photographed amazingly well. Such a blast to work with, I would use Katie again for other special events! I highly recommend the girls from It's a Date at the Powder Room!

Jen was amazing!! I loved my trial had a few hair concerns, came back a month later and we worked them out. The day of she was efficient, quick, and kept us laughing the whole time! The pictures are amazing and all of our hairstyles stayed and so did our makeup, even after 5 hours of dancing and sweating!! (yuck!) But in all the pictures we still look so put together! I am so impressed and it looks so natural! I cant thank her enough!

My beautician was awesome! Her name is Carrie. She was so patient and helpful. At the preview she listened to all my requests and did a complete practice. Then, when I changed my mind on the wedding day she was able to create a beautiful hairdo. She came to my home to do all our hair/make-up and she came as early as I anxiously requested. She rocks!

Just look at the pictures and you'll see what a great job they did. We Jennifer and her sister come to our hotel room. They were prompt and did a great job. Everyone looked gorgeous.

Carrie did a great job on my hair and make-up. It was amazing, and she totally listend to what I wanted because I kind of changed things after the first trial! But it was no problem and she nailed it. Also I have thin hair that is hard to work with but she made it look great. All the bridesmaids were really happy too.

I know most all of these ladies personally, so I know that they are committed to doing beautiful work. All of them can come and do your hair/makeup at your house - so there's no need to travel to the salon AND your house AND the site AND the church. You can stay comfortable at your own place (or wherever) - that was a huge plus for me.

Professional Makeup: We used It's a Date's Mary Donaghy for our daughter's recent wedding in Santa Rosa. Mary did the makeup for the Mother of the Bride (myself) and three bridesmaids. Throughout the months leading up to the wedding the management at It's a Date were easy to contact and communicate with via telephone and email. They were very flexible. Mary arrived on time, her appearance was very professional, and she did a great job on the four of us. I highly recommend them.

DeeAnna of The Powder Room was nice enough to accommodate my small wedding even at the very last minute. She was very professional--showing up on time for our appointment at our hotel and making sure that we were happy with our looks. She did my hair and makeup and I couldn't be happier with the result. The look she did for me was exactly what I had envisioned. She made me look so
flawless during my wedding day! My mother and sister also loved their hair and makeup. I've had many experiences with other hair & makeup artists that promised to give me the exact look I asked for but never really delivering. DeeAnna came ready and delivered.

This group of talented professional cosmetologists and hair stylists are amazing! I gave them very little notice, having forgotten(!) to reserve hair and makeup for a very popular wedding date, and they accomodated me with smiles and a friendly attitude. They were punctual, flexible (one of my bridesmaids changed her mind at the last minute and wanted her hair done, too), courteous, and relatively reasonably priced. For their services, EXTREMELY reasonably priced. Thank you for making my special day so much more perfect!

I could not have been happier with my hair and make up experience with Jennifer at the Powder Room. During my trial for hair and make up she was more than willing to try different options, and she really listened to what I wanted instead of trying to convince me of what she thought would be best. She works quickly and does a great job. She arrived at our site the day of the wedding promptly and everyone who had hair and make up done was more than happy with their results. Wonderful experience, I definitely recommend!

Deanna at It's a Date did the make-up and hair for my wedding-for myself, my maid of honor and my mom. She did a great job. I really don't wear makeup and during my preview day I told her that it was a bit too much for me, so on the day of my wedding she toned it down and it was great! She's really fun too, so you have a good time while getting dolled up!

Heather Romero and her team did my wedding makeup and hair for me and my bridesmaids, moms, and aunts for our August 2017 wedding and we all loved how it turned out! I did my trial a few months earlier in which Heather really put me at ease and came up with a great bridal look for me based on my inspiration images. I don't (and neither does my bridal party) wear a lot of makeup, so I was concerned I would look overly done up. I was pleasantly surprised that I still felt natural, (like I could still see my own skin through the foundation) yet with some nice added drama for photos. They also showed up on time ready to roll and got done a few minutes ahead of schedule which was awesome. Thank you Heather and team!

Alisa & her team from It's a Date really nailed the hair & makeup for my wedding. Alisa and I did a trial run and she listened to everything I wanted / was afraid of (ex: feeling like a clown, etc)! My makeup was done perfectly- so natural and it felt great, not heavy or caked on. We also tried a few hair styles which with her magic & vision, she turned me into a girl who loves updos (this is never the case!). I felt so elegant walking down the aisle and my bridesmaids looked like total super models. Alisa's team was even able to fit in an extra makeup appointment for one of my bridesmaids who changed her mind on the day of the wedding. They were wonderful women and I would absolutely recommend them for your wedding!

I looked beautiful on my special day, all thanks to Deanna! She came out to our B&B in Cloverdale and made us all feel so comfortable and excited to get pampered and made pretty. She was super flexible, fitting in an extra girl's makeup and the flower girl's hair, dealt with my last minute change of mind with my hairstyle, and even stayed late because my florist was running late with my hair flowers. Bonus, my hair looked gorgeous for the next 4 days! Whatever products they use are top notch and look very natural. Thank you for making me the prettiest I have ever felt in my life. Exactly what I wanted on my wedding day.

It's a Date was great for me! I wanted a very natural look and they paired me with a stylist who could provide that. Heather was great! Once I let her know I don't wear a ton of makeup regularly, she constantly checked in with me to make sure the test makeup look she was doing didn't feel too heavy. Both my hair and makeup came out perfectly and really matched what I wanted. I don't have a bridal party so I only needed to book one stylist for the day and was very excited when she told me it would only take 1 hour to do both my hair and makeup.

Katie did my make-up and hair for my wedding. I have never looked so beautiful! I looked just the way I pictured I wanted to look. She really listened to what I wanted. She also did my maid of honor's make-up and hair. She is 15 years old and Katie gave her a look that was gorgeous, yet still age appropriate.

Deanna, of It's a date, was wonderful to work with. When we did the dry run, I made her do it twice because I couldn't decide what I wanted. She was really patient. I think I was a bit of an overly emotional bride that day, and it didn't faze her.
When it came to wedding day, she knew exactly what I wanted, and she made the perfect choices, which were really specific, without me having to remind her of anything. Everyone said I looked amazing - hair and makeup. My hair was especially pretty. When I tried to duplicate it the next day, it was impossible, and Deanna made it look so easy!
I felt beautiful. Not "made up." It felt very natural. And it stayed on all night. She was completely professional, from start to finish. And a sweetie, to boot!

Efficient Timing

We had a stylist come our airbnb to do hair and makeup for the bridal party. 1 stylist was able to complete 6 services within 3 hours. Everything turned out great. I don't think they were great at communication however the hair and makeup turned out great. They did however put a TON of hairspray in everyone's hair.

Katie was great! I went in for my trial and didn't like it because I had originally told her sometime completely different then I had initially wanted (my fault) so I took the risk of waiting until my wedding day "play." And boy did Katie kill it!!! Katie and her assistant did 12 hair and 1 bridal hair + makeup in 3 hours!! Super quick! I would definitely recommend It's A Date :)

I had Jenifer do the hair and makeup for our wedding party. Her fee includes a trial run for the bride, but it's definitely more on the high end. I was not completely satisfied with my trial run, but come wedding day, she did my makeup beautifully!

She also did a great job on the bridesmaids and moms. I think she really knows what make up /hair compliments each age/skin-tone/dress color. She is also super-quick so you get some extra time to relax. I highly recommend getting Jenifer for your wedding hair and makeup if you are fine the prices reasonable for you!

I had Carrie from The Powder Room do my wedding hair and make-up and she was AMAZING! She listened to everything I wanted and gave me recommendations based on my skin-tone and hair-type. She is super friendly (not at all snobby like some some hair and make-up artists are) and made me feel very calm the morning of my wedding. She and her assistant budgeted their time well and got everyone done, making sure I (the bride) was her priority. I would highly recommend Carrie!
