Our wedding on August 8, 2015 at Inn Marin was great! Kate was an amazing coordinator that helped me organize the event along the way and on the day of, she was wonderful. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at this location and we were able to use outside vendors, choose specifics that we wanted, and also utilize the organization and logistics that Inn MArin had to offer. The location and coordinator helped us figure out table sizes, flow of the event, delivery times, set up times, flatware, color schemes, linens, decor (basic), lighting, and give us ideas of what would look good in the space they had.
Our wedding was BEYOND what we expected. It was GREAT! And we really felt like everyone had a great time, the food was good, the music was great! and you didn't feel like you were off the side of hwy 101. Initially you would think that its a local Inn or Hotel/Motel but we had plenty of guests stay there and on the contrary, the rooms were very clean, quiet, and theres a resturant on site for cocktails, great dinner, and live music as well!
With Inn Marin we were able to stay within our budget, bring outside vendors in that we specifically wanted for music/food/flowers, and have a day of coordinator (Kate Tuthill) that was AMAZING (at no extra cost).
If you're looking for a Marin venue I would do it again here =)
From start to finish we had great experiences in planning and holding our wedding at The Inn Marin on August 1st. Kate Tuthill, John Marshall & Terri Rose were especially helpful in making all the arrangements and helping in coming up with solutions when any hiccup in our planning arose. We worked mostly with Kate, a wonderful event coordinator who helped keep on track as to what needed to be figured out by when and offered helpful suggestions and ideas that other couples did. She was organized and helped everything run smooth before and during the wedding. It was such a pleasure and she felt like my best friend in the process - the support I realized I very much needed while planning a big wedding of 150 people especially getting close to the day. She kept my spirits up and offered to help with miscellaneous task to help free up my time. She made sure my requests were made and saw everything was followed through that we had talked about. She assured me that all the vendors would have an easy time with the various tasks they needed to do and she communicated with them to make sure all would run smooth.
The day of the wedding, the courtyard was even more beautiful than I had pictured it. Many guests commented on what a perfect and beautiful venue it was. The touches of the gentle sunlight fell through the tree and the overall softness of everything made it feel like a dream. The greenery surrounding the buildings made a beautiful backdrop for our photography.
With regards to pricing, the Inn Marin was quite reasonable and they worked with the menu to make it more affordable for us (and the food was incredible!)
If you have concerns as to the freeway being so close, nobody noticed/heard it during the event.
I highly recommend it!
The Inn Marin is the absolute perfect place for your wedding!
After doing an extensive search of venues within both the Bay Area and the Napa/Sonoma area we were so happy to find the quaint and charming garden setting that the Inn Marin had to offer to us. If you are considering the Inn Marin, you will not be dissappointed!!!!
While the immediate access to the freeway takes you off guard a bit when you first arrive, when you walk through the hotel and into their garden area you feel like you stepped off of the 101 and into a charming oasis! The whole setting looked incredible in photos, especially their fountain and Southern Magnolia tree!
We noticed in our search that many hotels have outrageous fees for miscellaneous items associated with weddings, and we were refreshed to see that the Inn Marin offered very reasonable and affordable pricing, and that they will work with your budget and accommodate your needs so that you really do have what you see as important at your wedding, unlike many vendors that have very structured pricing policies.
The food was incredible, all of our guests raved about their appetizers and dinner. The attentiveness of the staff was nothing short of exceptional. Terri and Kate Tuthill worked night and day to ensure that we were comfortable and made sure that all of our guests had everything they needed. We had several out of town family members staying at the hotel, and they accommodated us as if we were staying in their own home! They even let the remaining guests borrow the hotel barbeque and set tables for them to cook steaks the evening after the wedding!
I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking to have a perfect wedding or other event!
We had our wedding at Inn Marin on 5/9/15. We were extremely happy with the service, the grounds and the food (Big Thank You to the Chef at Rickey's restaurant who does the catering). Kate (the catering coordinator) and John (one of the owners) were wonderful to work with and made sure the vision we had of our wedding became a reality. Our ceremony was set underneath the beautiful magnolia tree, the toast next to the fountain and the reception in the garden room. Each time we see one our guests they make it a point to compliment us on how delicious the food was and on the beautiful location of our wedding.

Inn Marin was the perfect place for our wedding! I could not have been happier the way it all turned out! Most of which was accomplished by Tricia, their on-site coordinator who really knows her stuff and was willing to think outside of the box to accommodate us at every corner. She helped with all the little things the day of which really took the stress off and was present through the whole event making sure things ran smooth. We had our ceremony in the court yard in front of their beautiful fountain as the sun was going behind the tree. The reception was on the grass with the tables set up under the tree with hanging paper lanterns and twinkle lights. This place is such a lush and romantic setting! And they really worked with me to help make my visions become a reality. The staff there was wonderful! Everyone was nice and courteous. Ricky's catered the event and the food was superb! BBQ steak and butter sauce chicken. For the quality of food you get the price is extremely reasonable! So delish!
Their room accommodations are great as well. Bamboo floors and Kruig coffee makers :)
I would highly recommend this place for ANY event you may have, big or small. I am looking forward to having another party there as soon as I have a reason!

Our experience at Inn Marin was fantastic. Finding a venue in the Bay Area (especially so close to wine country) that wasn't insanely expensive but still nice was a serious challenge. Inn Marin was the solution for us. We were a little worried at first because of the proximity to the freeway but once you walk inside and out into the courtyard the freeway instantly becomes a non issue. You completely forget its there. All your attention goes to the charming grounds complete with a huge gorgeous tree (oak maybe, though I'm not positive). Also, the fact that the hotel is small and quaint means most of your guests can stay on site if they want. We had the best of both worlds. A charming wedding site that was personal and full of character but that also happened to be a hotel (without the generic impersonal feel that some hotels can have).
The other thing that we found difficult was finding a good caterer that also wasn't going to break the bank. With the onsite restaurant Ricky's we found exactly that. In fact, of many things, the food was one of the things our guests raved about.
One other great thing that I wanted to point out about having our wedding here was working with Tricia. She was easy to work with and so extremely helpful through out the entire planning process. Using our decorations and without really any guidance from me she took what ideas I did have and ran with it. I was so pleased with how the ceremony turned out, it was exactly what I had in mind. Working with her gave me so much peace of mind, I was able to really just enjoy the day and not worry about anything.
I just got married back in August, and thought I would write a review while the day is fresh in my head! Let me start with the Venue. The Inn Marin is a quaint location in Novato with beautiful gardens and a beautiful reception area as well. My whole wedding was outdoor, with the exception of an Indoor area for guests to continue the party, sign the guestbook, and leave gifts.. The huge magnolia tree that we were married under was gorgeous!
The catering: Ricky's, which is the on-site restaurant, catered our big day. It was delicious! We had a steak, chicken, mashed potatoe, veggies, ect. buffet style. It was a huge hit! People still keep telling me how amazing the food was! (We had the option of vegetarian and fish, but we passed.)
Now on to my wedding coordinator: Tricia Harris at the Inn Marin was fabulous from start to finish! Not a detail was left undone all the way through. Great job Tricia! She was able to find out my exact style and decorative wants very quickly, and had all of the best (and cheapest) vendors to make it happen! She was constantly in contact with me, and constantly had my me completing checklists to ensure that those final weeks before the wedding were less stressful. I cannot thank her enough for making the day perfect! She was walking around the venue the day before and day of to ensure everything was in its perfect spot, and that all of the lighting, food, seating, and flowers were indeed correct. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! :) I would highly recommend the venue and Tricia for your special day.
We had our wedding on our 19th anniversary at inn marin in Novato and it was perfect. Out of town guests could arrive park for free all weekend and just hang out together. The inn is a great place to hang w good food inside and nearby ,and a great pool. Our wedding planner Tricia Harris helped make the day completely stress free by thinking of everything and taking care of it beforehand and during our day. It was the funnest wedding I have ever been to and it was mine. Talk about stress free!
The Inn Marin is a GEM! I wanted a laid back, intimate, rustic outdoor wedding with amazing food !

My mother and I looked at a ton of wedding venues! I was feeling a little discouraged because I wasn’t finding anything .
After touring Inn Marin , I never looked back, truly. It was green, beautiful trees, luscious hydrangeas that surrounded the entire venue ! It was breathtaking!
Now, the wedding coordinator and staff ! No joke, I wish I could hang out with them on a weekly basics. They were that wonderful. Tricia , the wedding coordinator will become your best friend. She will almost feel like your maid of honor, because she is so on point with everything and leaves you with NOTHING to worry about! She was so accommodating and supportive during the whole planning phase.
I honestly can’t praise her enough, she was such a pleasure to work with .
I never got stressed out , never felt like something was missing or something was wrong, she was so organized and on point that it made everything perfect !
You always hear brides tell you , its such a stressful time .. planning a wedding. Honestly , I enjoyed every bit of it - I never felt overwhelmed with coordination .
I haven’t stopped getting texts, emails , and comments on my facebook about how amazing our wedding was ! So many people have told us that our wedding was the “ Best wedding ever ! “ The food was amazing” , “The scenery was stunning” The hotel was so nice...”

I couldn’t be more pleased with how it all turned out. I’m so thankful that I went and took a peek in the back garden area, and decided to have our wedding at this venue.
I loved everything that the Inn Marin had to offer us, we were able to personalize the venue and make it ‘ours’ !
We loved working with the Inn Marin, especially their event coordinator, Tricia.
Our wedding was on a modest budget but they were willing to come up with creative ways to accommodate us.
And, because we were having our wedding with them, they also gave us a special discounted rate for having the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner there as well.
We had a lot of out of town guests who were able to book rooms there and then literally walk out their hotel room doors and be at the wedding site. They all reported that they had a lovely stay with great room service.
The Inn Marin set up and took down all of our wedding decor, I simply had to deliver the decorations a few days before the event (this was an amazing help!).
Any glitches or mishaps that happened (they were minor and not that many) the event coordinator, Tricia was on it and it was resolved with in minutes.
All of my guests on the day of the wedding said how fun it was and how they loved the venue and thought it was beautiful. One of our guests said, "I had no idea that place was there, what a hidden gem!'
Lastly, this review wouldn't be complete without giving a huge shout out and 'Thank you' to the chef and staff at Rickey's! Rickey's is the restaurant located on the site of the Inn and they provided the food for our reception. All my guests said the service was fantastic and the food was delicious! I had more than one guest comment, "I can't believe how wonderful the food tasted, especially given that they had to serve over 150 guests!"
I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a wonderful, beautiful, fun, and stress free wedding! This place is worth the time even for a tour, if nothing else, you'll be in for a treat getting to meet Tricia! (She's really the best!)
There is literally nothing I would change about our wedding event at Inn Marin. Lora (the event coordinator) is warm and fun and fantastic to work with. The setting is gorgeous, and the food provided by Rickey's was just the best. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff is gracious. We couldn't be happier with their services.

This is a beautiful location with a variety of set ups depending on where you want your ceremony and reception. Staff is extremely friendly, and it was a joy to work with the event coordinator, Lora Salfi. If there was ever a problem, I never knew of it and she kept me so organized I never had anything to worry about!

Finding the Inn Marin for our wedding ceremony and reception site was a dream come true. The site is beautiful and as others said, Lora, the director of catering is amazing. I give her all the credit for the wonderful wedding we had. She really loves her job and works hard to give you exactly what you want. Never once did I hear no. She worked with me on every request I had. She has so much knowledge on the whole wedding planning process. She is warm, sweet,and so easy to work with. It was so great having Lora there to help me. Most wedding coordinators at other venues are no where close as involved as Lora. She is the absolute best!
The Inn Marin was the perfect setting for our vision of an outdoor summer wedding. We were married outside under the Magnolia tree with the cocktail hour and dinner outside in the garden lawn. Dancing took place inside the ballroom. We chose the Fajita Buffet for dinner and everyone commented on it being the best wedding food they had ever had! Most of our guests rented rooms at the Inn Marin and were very impressed with their stay. Most importantly at the end of the day we came under budget! Wish I could get married again here at the Inn Marin. Thank you!

Being a bride on a budget in the lush Sonoma County, I was struggling to find a venue that was both beautiful and cost effective. My fiance and I were starting to feel helpless when we made our appointment with Lora at the Inn Marin.
First the venue is amazing! Their courtyard is lush and green with a magnificent magnolia tree taking center stage. There is a beautiful fountain and the grounds and exceptionally kept.
Second [and for me, the most important] Lora the catering director is just amazing. She is personable, flexible and willing [if not happy] to go the extra mile for her clients and you will be a guest at your wedding. You can leave everything in Lora's hands and know that it will get done just the way you imagined it.
And last, but certainly not least- the venue is so affordable. You can have your northern california wedding and have it be beautiful on a budget with the Inn Marin.
