Ashley and her crew were outstanding and i highly recomend them to everyone ! My favorite part was how faithful the catering staff was to serving us drinks and food during the photos ! I had requested that some food and drinks be brought over, since we would miss most of the cocktail hour doing photos. The staff was wonderful in continually bringing over food and drinks for everyone, and even following us as we changed photo shoot locations ! Our bridal party was VERY appreciative ! Everything about Kent Manor was just amazing and the staff was just outstanding !

Ashley and the staff at kent manor made my day truly stress free. Ashley was also a great person to plan with as she was very patient with my decision making! We got married on a Thursday in July and our garden ceremony was perfect. perfect weather, perfect view. Every one of my guests raved about how much they loved the place. As the bride, I was getting my hair and make-up done all day in the bridal suite and found that being at kent manor kept me calm and relaxed, even when there was an issue with my rented linens. Ashley took care of it for me! Lastly, having the house filled with guests allowed the wedding to continue. My dad got to spend time with his friends on the balcony, some sat on the front porch, some hung out by the gazebo. The food was also amazing! The perfect venue!

The Inn was a beautiful setting and the food was amazing. The staff was willing to work with us on a near daily basis during our planning, and they were pretty responsive to questions and concerns that we had. We had many compliments on the grounds and the inn itself.

I cannot say enough good things about Ashley Clough regarding my wedding experience at Kent Manor on October 12, 2008. She is truly exceptional in her role and responsibilities at Catering Manager. Although I was busy with wedding preparations, I received a lot of comments from my cousin, who was my wedding day coordinator, in addition to my family and friends.
Here are specific comments about working with Ashley Clough…
“I thought Ashley was very professional, polite, and efficient. She does what she promises and with a smile too! For example, when I called her at 1:00PM to let her know that the chairs were dirty and insufficient, she said that her staff will come in at 2:30PM to clean them and add the appropriate number of chairs. And at 2:30pm they did – exactly as she promised and they set up the programs and fans as well.”
“At first, the tables in the Garden House were arranged incorrectly because there was no room for the band. Ashley immediately apologized and fixed it right away. Ashley also made sure all the menus were set up at each place setting.”
“I really enjoyed working with a person who can deliver. Ashley gets an A+ from me. She also has a great positive ‘can do’ attitude which makes her a joy to work with.”
Regarding the Kent Manor staff including the waiters, bartenders, etc, I received a lot of praise for their excellent service, consideration, and conduct. I was very distracted and feeling a little nauseous since I was stressed out – your staff really went out of there way to make me feel comfortable.
“The Kent Manor staff was extremely polite, courteous, and efficient – requests did not have to be repeated twice. Every need was addressed immediately! For example, I asked one of the waitresses to light the candles in the Garden House when the lion dance began. I came in to check later, and it was done as I requested.”
“The staff really worked with everyone to make everything we needed possible. We needed a place for the seating chart and one of the waitresses immediately supplied a gold easel for us to use. We really felt taken care of.”
“When the fireworks show began, there were some guests who remained in the Garden House so I asked one of the waitresses to dim the lights – she immediately dropped what she was doing to dim the lights. After the fireworks show, the same waitress approached me to ask if I needed anything else. I liked the fact that she took the initiative to seek me out to inquire if I had anymore requests. The service really impressed me.”
“The staff was amazing. I can’t get over how attentive and positive they were with all the guests. The whole experience at Kent Manor will be remembered by the smiles and warm attention of the all the staff providing such excellent service that night.”
Although I did not have the opportunity to eat, I did receive a lot of feedback on the food. Overall, the appetizers during the cocktail reception were excellent, but the dinner entrees fell far short of expectations. I was very concerned about the quality of the food even after the two menu tasting appointments. I am very disappointed that our family and friends did not have the top-notch culinary experience that I expected from Kent Manor, especially since one of the key reasons why I chose to have my wedding at Kent Manor was for the food.
“The cocktails and appetizers were delicious. We couldn't get enough of them. Great choice on the wonton, scallop, and mushroom!”
“The salad was limp and wilted – the portions were ridiculous. Why even serve such a salad?”
“The lobster bisque soup was very cold and gross by the time it got to us. It would have tasted wonderful if it was hot.”
“The steak was decent, but it was cold!”
“The chicken was dry, rubbery, and tasteless. Our table was fighting for the salt to give it some flavor to resuscitate it. We tried to help it go down with some bread, but, to our dismay, we found that we couldn't tell which was drier, the bread or the chicken.”
“The kids complained that their chicken fingers were too salty and oily. They just ate the fries and we had to go out to find more food for them.”
Regarding the Kent Manor grounds, the weather was brilliant, which really highlighted the beauty of the setting. I mentioned to you before how terrible the cheap plastic lawn chairs clash with such an elegant setting. I know that guests are only sitting on the chair for 30 minutes, but the chairs are an eye-sore in pictures and video, which is terrible given the $3,395 site fee. Paying an additional $500 for chair upgrades would be ridiculous. The lawn around the Garden House was also very dirty with piles of animal droppings and long grass, which may have contributed to the swarms of mosquitoes attacking me and the guests. I counted over a dozen mosquito bites on my arms, back and legs! I hate to think what the guests thought about the mosquito swarms and the untidy lawn…The grass should have been cut and insect repellent fire torches should have been installed to protect guests from the swarm of mosquitoes.

We got married at Kent Manor Inn on May 3, 2008. A month later, our guests are still talking about what a wonderful and beautiful place it was to have a wedding ceremony and reception. The catering manager, Ashley, and the rest of the employees were wonderful and VERY helpful - from the day we booked the venue, to the day we did our tasting, to the day of the wedding. The atmosphere was very inviting, the surroundings gorgeous and the food absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend Kent Manor to anyone!

The day was mostly a blur for me as the bride but everyone I talked to said how much they loved the reception. I had comments such as "this was the best food at a reception that I have ever had" and several comments about how lovely the place was. I really enjoyed working with the caterer; she was very responsive and right on top of things but not too pushy. that night at the reception was very relaxing and I didn't feel like i had to worry about anything. It was a great choice to make with Kent Manor Inn

The food was absolutely phenomenal - thank you! I would have liked it if the bar had a more flexible rate (not charging us for the people who don't drink a drop, for example). The Kent Manor staff was very friendly and helpful. I heard numerous compliments on the professionalism of the staff (with one exception, where a guest had to ask them to be quiet in the kitchen during a toast). During the preparations they day of, there were a few miscommunications, but I understand there were family/personnel issues that day and so we were understanding. Overall, we had a wonderful wedding and would definitely recommend Kent Manor.

As a ceremony and reception venue, the value is fantastic. I believe the venue for both only cost me about $1,500. The only restriction they really have is that you have to use their catering if you want any food, which is relatively expensive ($80+ per person). But since they are also an Inn and Restaurant, their food was beyond delicious! The site is really perfect for an outdoor wedding, as it is right on one of the Chesapeake Bay tributaries, and there is a nice pavilion right in front of the water and a dock. The Garden House, where the reception is held, has a nice central elevated dance floor and bar, and is surrounded by french doors. Beautiful for the fall and spring! The Inn rooms are all very nice and richly decorated. The only real problem I had with Kent Manor was that at time the Wedding Planner and Catering Manager of Kent Manor Inn was not only the same person, but VERY young and inexperienced, and never returned my phone calls. I had to resort to calling the owner's of the Inn, who are not local. The wedding planner/catering manager was supposed to be at the site the day of the wedding, to keep the activities on schedule, troubleshoot, etc., but did not show up. One of the caterers/waitress ended up managing the affair. The innate beauty of the site is beautiful, but the service was less than helpful.

I would highly recommend the Kent Manor Inn. The setting is beautiful and I received so many compliments from my guest. It was very convenient having the ceremony and reception all in one place. The setting is by the water and my pictures turned out great. The garden room is decorated very nicely. It's a little small, but cozy. The room can only hold up to 150 guests, but space was not a problem. My only complaint was that the wedding coordinator was hard to get in touch with during the planning stages. However, the staff that worked the wedding was great and everything went smoothly. If you are looking for somewhere unique and different than a hotel I would recommend the Kent Manor Inn.

As it was my second marriage, and I was marrying a widow, we wanted just a discrete small gathering for our reception. The Kent Manor was responsive to our every need without being intrustive. We were given a private dining room and had a time of wine and appetizers before the meal. The wine list was exceptional and the food was scrumptous. We were very happy to have chosen this venue.

Unfortunately, our wedding was a few weeks after 9/11 and we had some last minute cancellations due to travel logistics. Kent Manor Inn wasn't very flexible with this problem and still charged me for numbers I had provided weeks prior. In addition, we stayed on site and met with several problems such as losing reservations for one of the members of our wedding party, rooms not being cleaned properly, not having an iron to use and not wanting to disturb guests from the wedding the night before and having to go to the owners home to get one for our wedding guests to use, and issues with our beer selection at the reception (we had ordered specific kegs of beer weeks prior and we're given bottles of beer as a replacement, except it was Guiness and we all know Guiness beer in the bottle is totally different from tap) Most of the problems may seem small, however, to a bride who is expecting perfection, they were quite monumental. Management had changed hands between our selecting their venue and the wedding, so hopefully management has gained some valuable experience since then. The site is beautiful and allowed us to have an indoor backup plan in case of rain which fortunately we didn't have to use. On-site coordinator was nice, but very hard to get a response from due to her being overwhelmed with so many weddings and was often not cordial.
