Hard 8 catered my wedding. The food was absolutely amazing. We received so many compliments. However, there were a few issues. Sadly the manager we planned everything out with left the company and I didn’t found out about that until a few weeks before the wedding when I emailed them to confirm everything. That transition wasn’t handled the best. I feel they should’ve reached out to let me know and ask for the details on my event. It was clear the information they had on their end was incorrect and they weren’t aware of all the discussions we had with the other manager. This was a stressful new discovery. HOWEVER, they were quick to remedy it and the new manager even came out to my house to see where the wedding was taking place and hear all the details! Yay! I felt much better after this. Sadly, everything we discussed was not delivered. They were supposed to stay until 9:00 PM. However, they left at 8:00 PM. They provided a drink station which was now taken away an hour earlier than expected. I was also told the bartender they provided would 1. have ice to cool down drinks and to put inside drinks and 2. would never be left alone. BOTH of those did not happen. Bartender ran out of ice and asked my parents to go get some which of course they said no to so she went to get some during the reception. At TWO separate occasions my friend, sister in law and day of coordinator worked behind the bar while she was gone (once to go to the bathroom and once to go get the ice). I feel bad for the bartender and know this wasn’t her fault, she was not supposed to be left alone!! I ordered 2 sets of salads for 2 vegans. I checked with them during dinner to make sure they got them and they did not. The one even asked Hard 8 if there was a vegan option and was told no. Also, we gave the caterer a list of who had ordered steaks to make sure everyone who asked for one got one. BUT we did order 6 extras incase there was anyone who changed their mind day of. On the paper I gave them, I said to hand out the 6 extras if anyone asked for a steak that wasn’t on the list. There were only 17 no’s so I was pretty confident 6 extras would cover us. We were left with over 10 steaks and I found out later someone wanted one but was told they couldn’t have one since they rsvp’ed no. Hard 8 was helpful in filling water glasses before dinner and clearing tables and boxing up our rented dinnerware. So they excelled in some areas but fell short in others. -
