I had many ups and downs with this vendor. When I first went to try on my dress I was extremely happy with the quality of service I was given. They were very accomidating. Once I purchased the dress I realized that I had purchased the wrong material a month later and I called and the fixed it right away. I made an appointment to try it on so that my mother could see me in it because she lived 2 hours away I wanted a later appointment. They argued with me and told me the alterations person leaves @9:30 and the latest appointment would be 9. I had talk to the owner in person the day before and she told me differently. Everything went great with them up until I went to pick up my dress. My MOH and I walk up to their store and there are no dresses in the window. We looked around to ensure we were at the right address and surely it said The Gown Gallery at the top of the door. We walked it and it was a bunch of telemarketers. We both had a mild heart attack and almost started crying when I decided to call them and see where they were located. Well apparently they had changed locations and didn't call the people who had appointments to tell them. It took like 30 more minutes to get to their new location and then you had to jump through hoops just to get in the building. We told them that I had never received a call and they apologized and were very nice the time we spent picking up the dress. I'm not saying that you will have any of these problems but it was a little more stress than worth for my wedding day.

First I will say all of the women at the store were pleasent and never rude. The first time I went in I worked with a woman who wouldn't listen to what I wanted. She kept pushing horrible dresses onto me after I said no several times. She measured me and 2 of my bridesmaids. The next time I went in they had lost all of these measurements. the girl I worked with apologized and gave me her name and said to deal only with her. That was the last time I saw or heard from her. She never returned calls, was never there, and never dud anything else with my order. None of the payments were applied for the right dresses. Some of my girls ended up paying on other dresses because by the end we had no idea who really owed what! They neglected to tell me they were moving 2 WEEKS before my wedding!!! Only 2 of the 7 dresses were ordered in the right size. 4 of my girls couldn't breath and one was 2 sizes too big! The matron of honors gown had a horrible stain on the front that a dry cleaner said they had never seen before. The seamstress left an orange stain in the neckline of my dress then claimed she didn't (I watched it happen and said something immediatly!) then hours before the wedding when I pull my gown out, it had never been steamed! I made a special trip to take it back to them JUST for that! Overall me and my bridesmaids were 100% unsatisfied and wouldn't recommend this shop to anyone!

I found the dress of my dreams and at a great price. All of my fittings went great with the specific lady I worked with. But, the morning before the wedding when I arrived to pick up my dress, no one was at Gown Gallery to let me in. They did make up for their mistake by delivering the dress to my house.

I tried on dresses at gown gallery and I left in tears. The sales woman who was assigned to me would not let me try on dresses because they were "too expensive" stupid mistake since I may have bought a dress that was over my orginal budget if I fell in love with. I felt like I was begging for a million dollar dress for $100. Sorry but I spent over a $1000 on my dress and all I saw was cheap lace dresses that David's bridal wouldn't even carry. I ended up getting neglected when a young lady came in to look for a prom dress. I guess an instant sale was more important than a happy bride.

I bought my dress in Dallas, TX and took it to Gown Gallery for alterations only. The store seemed small and dirty. The experience lacked a personal and individualized aspect. The wait time for an appointment was always excessive. My alterations we wrong the first time, and wrong again the second time. They forgot to re-pack my veil, so I had to go back to the store. My bustle was too low and I had to hold it up all night. I was not happy with the process or the end result. I will say that the women who brought me my dress and completed the alterations were nice and helpful.

We had a horrible experience with the Gown Gallery. They forgot about an appointment. Good thing the wedding was a few weeks out. When we finally met with them we spotted a stain on the dress. For our final appointment, they had not removed the stain and had not done some other alterations that had been asked of them a month or two prior. I had to deal with the alteration issue and they took the dress down and got the stain out thank god. They also had not steamed the dress for the final consultation. Very unprofessional and rude.

Wonderful experience at the Gown Gallery. I had already picked out a dress at another shop in Kansas City and was coming here as my last stop before purchasing. Elizabeth was my consultant and immediately brought out dresses similar to the one I was considering purchasing. I never once felt pressured here to make a decision on a dress. At other shops I felt like every dress I tried on they were expecting it to be the one and for me to purchase it right then and there. The Gown Gallery was a great place to shop for the not typical bride to be. (Not a bridezilla) I just wanted a comfortable place to shop with no pressure. I also can't wait for them to move into their new space downtown!!!!

I really enjoyed my experience at the Gown Gallery. Gwen was my sales lady and she totally nailed it. I brought in quite a few pictures and I ended up buying the 2nd dress that I tried on. She was helpful but not too pushy and she was very honest. She spent hours helping me with gowns even though none really compared to that 2nd one, but we wanted to be sure. When I went to pick up the dress, Gwen was there and ohhhed and ahhhed over me again which I appreciated.

I went the gown gallery the first time by myself and had an appointment with Sharon. I was just looking for ideas and ended up finding "the dress." When I went in I told her about the wedding and told her that I wanted something that was unique. She listened to what I said and the first two dresses I tried were exactly what I said I wanted. Then we got to the third dress and she said "This is not at all what you asked for except it is unique and I think you are going to love it." I saw it on the hanger and knew that I would as well. I tried it on and knew it was "the one." My Nana and matron of honor went with me one Saturday to 4 different shops just to make sure that I had found the right dress and at the end of the day we purchased my dress at Gown Gallery.
Through out the process of purchasing my dress and alterations the entire staff at Gown Gallery were wonderful. They were very attentive, professional and made me feel special. They allowed me to come in several times just to try on my dress or show it off and always were very accomodating.
I had my alterations done at the shop and they were wonderful as well as reasonably priced.
If you are in the Kansas City area I would reccomend this bridal salon because most of all they listened to me and helped me figure out what I was really looking for.

I love my dress, LOVE it. But I did not love my experience with Gown Gallery. When making a significant purchase, and usually one of the first purchases of the wedding planning, you'd expect a bit better service. I realize they work with brides all day long, but I just wanted to be treated a little special. Instead, it seemed more like cattle herding - trying to get all of the girls in the waiting room into the fitting room, find them a dress and get out of there. Getting your dress is a big deal! Oh, and when I went to pick up my dress, there was another $20 charge for a dress bag. Twenty bucks isn't much in the big picture of it all, but can't they just throw that in or make it part of the dress cost? I will say though, that Barb, the woman who did my alterations, was very nice and friendly.

The Gown Gallery was wonderful. All of the women are really sweet and accommodating. I worked mostly with Sharon, who brought me dresses only in my budget and stayed with me until I could decide. She did not pressure me at all. I was working against a fast time line and they assured me that the gown would be ready for the big day. Though it was late with its arrival, the alterations and steaming of the dress were complete within days and I had my dress perfect for the wedding. I also purchased my veil and shoes all at The Gown Gallery, making one stop shopping wonderful for a bride with a busy schedule. I would definitely recommend working with The Gown Gallery, as Kansas City institution.

I had no intentions of buying a dress when I went in for my appointment at the Gown Gallery. It was the firts time I was trying dresses on and I'm not even from KC (we were just there so my mom could see me try on wedding dresses). Well, 2 days later and my dress was bought and it was perfect.
The staff was great and very accomodating. I'm from Ohio, getting married in Nebraska and I ended up buying my dress in KC. I fell in love with the dress on a Thursday but considering it was my first time ever trying on dresses I didn't want to jump too soon. They agreed that I could come back on Saturday since I was only in town for the weekend and try it on again (even though they were jam packed with appointments). We went back, tried on the dress and made the big purchase!

Although I was happy with the dress I purchased, I was not impressed with the Bridal Loft. Despite making appointments, I would still wait at least half an hour for any service. When I would call, I would usually be sent straight to voicemail and it took at least a day for anyone to respond. Also, after my final fitting, which was almost a month before my wedding, I was told I would be called when the dress was ready. By the week of my wedding, I heard nothing from them, so I stopped by to pick up my dress. After several sales associates walked by and did not offer to help me, I was finally told that my dress was not even pressed yet and that I would have to come back later, and blame was passed to the seamstress for why I was not contacted. Overall, I think they are overbooked and under staffed; which the management needs to deal with if they want return customers and referrals via word of mouth.
