Everything was SO delicious and displayed beautifully! Emily and the staff were so helpful, professional and pleasant!

We loved having the Rice Mill as our wedding venue! The site is absolutely gorgeous. Working with their team was easy as well, as they were very professional and responsive. The site fee was at the upper limit of what I wanted to spend, but it was worth it.

Good Food Catering and Emily made our wedding day a day to remember. Every detail was perfect and everyone raved that it was some of the best food at a wedding they have ever had. I was so happy with everything! Emily was a huge help in helping us make all the small and big decisions. Thank you Good Food Catering for a wonderful wedding reception!

Emily was amazing! I was very stressed at times about my small budget and she helped me make everything work perfectly! She was such a pleasure to work with and made my event more than i ever expected!

Since I first saw pictures of The Rice Mill online, I knew that this was where I would have my wedding at, and I could not have picked a more perfect place! Not only is the venue just naturally beautiful, but the surrounding area down there is the perfect backdrop for amazing pictures. I had both the ceremony and reception there, and it worked out beautifully. I loved the unique layout of the venue, and got so many compliments on how lovely everything was there.

My only criticisms would have to be that my fiance (at the time) works a 9-5 job, and was unable to meet at the venue for our meetings and taste testings, because these hours are also the work hours at the venue. My other one is that our rehearsal time somehow was overlooked, and another event was planned for that time. No big deal, we adjusted, and everything was ok...just a little unplanned.

The employees were fantastic at the venue. Extremely professional, and complimentary! Good Food Catering is amazing! Everyone commented that night about how wonderful the food was, not your typical "wedding food". My experience with The Rice Mill and Good Food Catering was pretty close to perfect. I loved everything about the venue, and the employees, and cannot wait to see the pictures from there!

I visited many venues before deciding on the Rice Mill Building, I absolutely fell in love with the building the minute we walked in. Emily at GFC was amazing to work with, she was full of great ideas and helpful advice, tailored the menu to our preferences, and coordinated the day flawlessly. She even helped me work through the few un-forseen details on the day of. The food portions were huge, and guests were raving about the location and the food. I had read several reviews saying the building can get hot, but for my April wedding the temperatures were perfect. I just cant say enough nice things about GFC and the Rice Mill building!

The venue - The Historic Rice Mill - was absolutely stunning! It was one of the most perfect space we found in Charleston. We looked at many places but found that quite a few of the historic venues would not let you hold things inside of their buildings. Had we gone with one of these places we would have had to use a tent and be outside - and it rained on our wedding day so that would not have been good. Because of the rain everyone quickly moved everything for the ceremony inside and it ended up looking perfect - even better than being outside on the patio.

Good Food Catering has ridiculously good food! I will have to say that that the minute we had our tasting I was in love with everything. We started with a very broad menu and Emily helped us narrow down options and make additions until we had the perfect mix. We did heavy hors d' ouvres and it was absolutely perfect. The only negative and this was minor - we really had to ask a lot of questions of our coordinator as opposed to her offering up a lot of information. Make sure you ask about all things that are available at the venue and with the catering company as they are one in the same.

Overall - Amazing venue and experience!

Of all of the locations we looked at in Charleston for our destination wedding, we never thought we would have chosen the Rice Mill building, but the space just blew us away and the folks from Good Food Catering were the best around. The space give you so much flexibility to have indoor and outdoor parts of the day and gives a bride like myself some ease to know that if the weather were to turn bad, everything could be shifted to the indoor space. Our ceremony was outside and I could not have asked for a better space or a better day. All of our guests raved about the look and feel of the building and how you could never find anywhere so unique in Boston (where we are from). Our guests also LOVED the food, almost as much as we did. From our apps (lobster mac and cheese, duck, and buffalo shrimp skewers), to our dinner selections (short ribs, pork loin, and pasta) and late night snacks (french fries), everything was delicious! Special thanks to Catherine and the staff for our wedding, they were all so GREAT and took care of everything!

The ladies at the Rice Mill & Good Food Catering were nothing but professional, skilled and all around great. From the very beginning, they were only interested in our well being and our wedding being fabulous. Of course things went wrong, but they handled everything professionally and always had our best interest in mind. The coordinator the day of the wedding was amazing, and everything went smoothly. No one could rave enough about the food, it was completely Charleston and delicious!! The venue was absoutely gorgeous and stunning. Would highly recommend the venue/catering to anyone!

Our May 2010 wedding at the HIstoric Rice Mill was perfect! Since my husband and I met in culinary school the food was a huge part of our wedding...and we knew our guests were expecting big things. Our guests are still talking about "the best wedding food ever." We appreciated being able to meet and taste may menu items and then customize each dish for our event. I could not be more pleased!

The food was amazing at our May 2010 wedding. All our guests commented on how wonderful the food was. The catering managers, servers and bartenders were attentive and fun. Everything we could need was thought of and addressed. The only thing I wish I would have realized before the date was how hot the building would get. It makes sense being a historic building without insulation I just hadn't planned for it. The staff was more than accommodating and kept making sure the AC vents were pumping all night to try and cool it down.

I absolutely loved our reception at the Rice Mill Building. The view of the harbor is breathtaking at night and yields beautiful pictures. The long bar inside means that people don't have to wait for drinks. Emily and the other ladies are extremely responsive and helpful - ready to help in any way they can to make your day the best ever. Only downside is the dance floor/bar area gets very hot if people are moving and shaking.

This is a great place for a reception. Lots of room, the chance to taste the menu and meet vendors and see the variety of choices available if not using any outside vendors. Choice of rooms for reception depending on size of group. Nice setting, nice rooms, friendly staff, good price for wedding block of rooms. I am so thankful that I chose them for our location. They continuously put my mind at ease & helped give me the wedding I had always dreamt of!

Food and venue were outstanding. The location of the Rice Mill is great. Emily was great and worked with us to get exactly what we wanted. Can not say enough about the food.

Good foor catered an event at a private residence and everything was wonderful! The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. They went above and beyond to make our day special. I would use them again and again.
