We loved the Golden Horseshoe and would recommend it to anyone getting married.

The entire staff is absolutely charming, however I must speak highly of Heather, the wedding coordinator. She is amazing! She organized her staff and moved our entire wedding set up outdoors last minute when our late November wedding day presented beautiful 70 degree weather out of nowhere. She is very quick to respond to emails and very good with details. I never turned in to "Bridezilla" once and it is all thanks to Heather and her team. THANK YOU Golden Horseshoe Inn!

My husband and I got married at The Golden Horseshoe Inn in Stanardsville, VA on October 22, 2011. I'm not even sure where to begin with this review. From the first time I met Heather and her father I felt as if I was apart of their clan. They are a very loving, welcoming, helpful, genuine, and down to earth family. They run their businesses as such as well. Heather made our wedding day more than I could ever have imagined thanks to her superior attention to all details big and small. When I had a question, concern, or comment she always responded thoroughly and in a timely manner. She is a very special person with a God given talent for what she does. If you are looking for the perfect venue to start the first day of the rest of your life - you need not look further. You will be absolutely amazed with the experience from beginning to end. All of our guests in attendance commented it was one of, if not THE most beautiful/nicest weddings they'd ever been to. We also stayed at one of the cabins they own - Blue Vista West the night before/of our wedding and the setting was perfect. The cabin has all the comforts of home and more. The mountains are gorgeous, and the hot tub is a welcome treat on a crisp fall evening. We were so blessed to have gotten married here with this beautiful family. Look no further, you have found your venue!

I would also like to point out that they give you the option of using their in-house photographer, Stephen, who is Heather's husband. He is WONDERFUL, and definitely worth the consideration. His work is excellent, he is patient, and extremely talented.

My husband and I were married at the Golden Horseshoe Inn the first weekend in September. We booked our elopement package without going there first because we read all the wonderful reviews. From our first contact with Heather through the whole process we were BEYOND pleased!!!! Heather arranged everything through phone calls and emails. She gave us suggestions of ideas we had not even thought about. When we arrived Friday before the wedding we met Heather for the first time but it felt like we were old friends. The Inn was beautiful and was everything we imagined and more! Alan and Norma were just as wonderful as Heather. They made us feel like our wedding was as special to them as it was to us. My husband and I have told everyone that there is NOTHING we would change about the day! It was perfect thanks to Heather, Alan, and Norma. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Golden Horseshoe Inn for anyone’s elopement or small wedding. In fact, we already have!

Heather was so helpful and kind. She truely loves her job helping couples plan the most wonderful wedding ever. Have one stop shopping made my job so much easier. All the people in my wedding party,family and friends that attended felt it was one of the most beautiful weddings that that they had been to in a long time. Everyone thought the food was great, cake was delightful and the warm feeling that the venue provides makes all the difference in the world. Our day could not have been better. I loved ever ,minute of the day and evening.

Heather was extremely helpful throughout our entire planning period. Whenever we had questions, problems, concerns, etc., she gave immediate and very thorough replies. The wedding cake and flowers being included in the package was very nice, and the selections available allowed us to make the best possible choices for our wedding. Heather was also extremely helpful in helping us plan the photographer, catering, and overnight stay by providing us with several choices in each situation and facilitating communication when concerns arose. After the wedding, the guests made several recurring comments concerning the nature of our wedding, including "well-done", "well-arranged", and "wonderful". We are very thankful to Heather for all of her help in coordinating and planning this most important event for us, and we would recommend her to anyone planning any type of relatively small wedding.

This place is amazing! I can't believe what we got for the money. Heather Tusing is a fantastic wedding coordinator. My wedding was beautiful and so stress-free! Her father, Alan, was the wonderful officiant. Everything went so smoothly and everybody had a good time. Also Norma and the rest of the staff were wonderful as well. I had a moment when I showed up on the wedding day and realized I left a bag somewhere between my cabin and the inn, possibly having put it on top of my car. Norma went straight out to the cabin and found my bag on the porch. That is just one of countless ways everyone went above and beyond. The venue was gorgeous and so green at the end of May. Heather's husband Steven was our photographer and our pictures are absolutely gorgeous!

I can think of no better place for a small, intimate wedding than the Blue Ridge Mountain Inn. And I can think of no better person to guide you through your wedding than Heather Tusing: Blue Ridge's innkeeper/wedding planner/lifesaver... literally.

My wife Michelle and I had booked a simple fall elopement wedding which turned out to be anything but simple. We arrived at the inn the day before the wedding where we met Heather and her family (her daughter even drew a picture of Michelle and I at the altar which we still keep on our fridge). Just after we all finished scouting outdoor locations for the ceremony, Michelle became seriously ill. Heather's precise directions got us to the Martha Jefferson hospital in time to avoid a near-fatal attack. Instead of champagne and hot tubs Michelle got a week of hospital food and hot compresses. We thought our wedding was ruined, but Heather had other plans.

Once Michelle recovered, Heather was determined to make our second try anything but second best. She worked with us to find a new date. She accommodated a newly expanded guest list. She went out of her way to make sure that everything from the cake, to the decorations, to the accommodations was unique and personalized. On the day of the ceremony Heather and her family were there ready when we needed them. When we got lost on the way to the hair salon, Heather was there giving directions... again. When we needed dinner reservations, Heather had the numbers on speed dial. There wasn't a thing she hadn't thought of and planned for, and it really meant that Michelle and I could stop fussing about the little details and, instead, focus on each other. You can't put a price on that sort of peace of mind... and the one they charge is certainly not enough :)

Michelle and I originally booked for the beauty of the mountains, the intimacy of the cabin, and the simple elegance of the ceremony. On our anniversary, we will come back because of the people.

We had our ceremony and reception at the Golden Horseshoe Inn. It was beautiful. My friends and family can't believe how stress free the planning was. It's great that they offer packages so that a lot of the stress is taken off of you so that you can just enjoy your day! It's a perfect place for a small wedding and a great place for fall weddings. The staff was helpful without being intrusive. It was exactly what we were looking for!

We had just a beautiful reception and ceremony there. They were very responsive to our ideas, too, and just were there to make the day really special. We had a wonderful event and everyone who attended said they were blown away by the staff and the event as a whole! Thanks for everything!

My husband and I got married at the Golden Horseshoe Inn in August and we wouldn't have changed anything! The staff at the Inn went above and beyond to make sure no detail was overlooked. They were professional, accomodating, and relaxed throughout the whole planning process and during our wedding day. The staff made sure that our guests' needs were met, as well as our own. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone getting married who is looking for a small yet lovely wedding. Our guests loved the quaint Inn and the serene setting. I have already told newly engaged couples about this venue and will continue to!

Our daughter had her wedding and reception here last August. I would recommend The Golden Horseshoe Inn to anyone. Heather was the best. She took care of everything. She recommended an excellent caterer. We had ordered our cake before the venue so I don't know about the cake but the flowers were beautiful. The rooms for the bride and groom to get ready in were perfectly appointed and large and bright. The place was beautiful and they did more than they said they would. Everything was perfect. Really. When it was all over my thought was - I wish we had another daughter so we could do this all over again. We received so many compliments from our guests. It was the perfect wedding because of Heather and her staff. And get the wedding cake cookies - they were beautiful and delicious!

We had our ceremony and reception at the Golden Horseshoe Inn with their all inclusive wedding package and had our entire family stay on their properties for the weekend. I cannot say enough about how amazing the entire weekend turned out to be! Heather, the wedding coordinator, was incredible. I wanted the least amount of stress possible and Heather allowed for me to be stress free. She took care of every aspect of the wedding while also catering to my suggestions. Alun, Norma, and Melinda and the entire staff paid such incredible attention to every detail and really took care of us and all our guests. The wedding ceremony was perfect, the Inns were perfect, everything was perfect!

We could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding. Heather worked very well with us. She was flexible and allowed us to have the wedding of our dreams. On our wedding day we did not have to worry about anything. They had already thought of everything. In the bedrooms provided for the bride and groom to get ready there were scissors, a steamer, drinks in the fridge, and an iron. My flowers were set up beautifully in the window. Every little detail was thought out. During the day I did not have to worry about when to cut the cake or throw the bridal bouquet. The staff was extremely friendly. All of our guests thought the venue was amazing and they are still talking about how much fun they had! I am so thankful we chose this venue. We couldn't have been more stress free!

We received impeccable service during our entire overnight stay at the Blue Ridge Mountain Inn. Every detail was taken care of with pride and perfection. The amenities included a closet containing everything you would dream of needing, such as star gazing blankets, DVDs, and yoga mats. Norma, Allen, Heather, and their staff were concerned with making sure our stay was relaxing. They each made an effort to ensure that we enjoyed our stay.
We stayed in the Mountain Spring Room. It was very spacious. The bathroom was huge and extremely clean. The bed was also very comfortable!

Alun from the Blue Ridge Mountain Inn was recommended to us by our ceremony venue. With many years of experience, Alun helped guide us through the ceremony and also was very flexible in tailoring the ceremony to include readings and elements that were important to us. He is very eloquent and really helped make our ceremony beautiful and meaningful.
