Incredible Experience!!

We had such an amazing experience with Gene Ho Photography! I felt confident about our vendor choice from the moment I got off my initial call with Nadean. She is such a joy, and you will automatically feel at ease with her. Come the day of, she ROCKED it! As promised, she kept everything on track, without us feeling the tiniest bit rushed. She had such a fun-loving spirit and her energy was so contagious! All of my bridesmaids commented on how awesome she was. Without skipping a beat, she caught/fixed small imperfections to get flawless shots, and her instinctive creativity was truly impressive. Now that we have the photos, WOW! We can't get over them. Nadean saw perfect photo-ops and made it a mission to capture those moments (including shots in the vineyard RIGHT before it rained - photo below). We couldn't have dreamed up such a beautiful illustration of our big day.
Plus, Gene shot our engagement photos, which we also loved! It truly was a pleasure to work with both Nadean and Gene. We highly recommend Gene Ho Photography for your wedding (or any event)!

Beautiful and fun

Gene is an amazing photographer which is why I chose him. He was professional and fun during the wedding and I can’t wait to see how the prints turn out. He took tons of shots and I worked well with my entire wedding party. He is highly recommended

Engagement and wedding photos

Working with Nadean has been a wonderful experience. She is so easy to work with and is very professional. The photos that she produced where breath taking. She was able to capture so many beautiful moments.

As my then fiance now wife told the story of how she woke to find herself after passing out in the sweltering South Carolina heat during the bridal shoot, I was concerned for her health, but then she immediately began talking about how much she loved Nadean and the wonderful job she did with our daughters and her during the bridal photo shoot. Then I had a chance to meet her during the wedding and she was simply amazing. She and Gene grabbed the groomsmen and I and took us on a photo shoot that could possibly land us all in the next blockbuster film. If you are looking for just a photographer to take wedding photos, then Nadean is not who want, but if you want someone to turn your wedding photos into an amazing photo shoot everyone will talk about for years to come, then you must have Gene Ho and Nadean.

I feel so speechless about how wonderful everything Nadean did for me during my time planning my wedding. She wasn’t just helpful for photos for my bridal shoot and wedding day. She was helpful throughout the months of my wedding planning. I cannot thank Nadean and Gene Ho enough. They made my day bigger than I could have ever imagined. We had Nadean as our photographer. Enjoyed talking to her and working together to make our wedding day special. She took our engagement photos two years ago and did amazing job. I can't wait to see our wedding photos.

Nadean was the absolute best choice for our wedding photographer! She was always quick to respond during the planning process and made sure to learn our family dynamics before the wedding day. Nadean was the photographer for my wedding in Murrells Inlet, SC. From beginning to end Nadean made sure I was comfortable and taken care of. She went above and beyond what I could have ever expected! I even had a breakdown about my hair and makeup and she assured me that I was beautiful and calmed me down.
I was worried that the photographers and videographers would be in the way or crowd me but her and her crew work so well together that it felt like they were not even there during the ceremony and reception. Nadean was very creative with the posing and never got frustrated with my big, loud, rowdy bridal party. We love Gene Ho Photography and Nadean.

Hands down the nicest and best people we worked with! It was so great to work with everyone at Gene Ho Photography! From the setup of our engagement photos to planning out the details for what we wanted for our wedding. Than to the wedding day. The timeline they created was exactly how we planned it and in the time frame.

They are so professional and fun outgoing people. Its all and everything we could of asked for. I can't describe how thankful I am! Highly recommend you talk with them today!

This is yet another review praising Nadean for being not only an amazing photographer, but a fab person! From the 1st correspondence via email to the day of the wedding, Nadean made planning a "destination" wedding a breeze! She didn't hesitate to refer me to other vendors & do anything within her power to make our planning easier. On the day of the wedding I was actually relieved to see her because I had no doubt she would help keep things moving the way they needed to...and she did not disappoint. We just received our proofs & I couldn't be happier. If you want amazing pics at a reasonable price call Gene Ho!

My husband and I planned our Myrtle Beach wedding from NY. The moment that I sat down with Nadean, I knew she was the photographer for us. She was so much fun and had a glowing personality. Looking through her wedding albums, I knew I had made the right decision. We only met once with Nadean prior to the wedding, but had been in contact through emails. She called me a few days before the wedding to find out about the dynamic of our families to make sure everyone got along and what ideas we had for pictures. The day of the wedding, Nadean took pictures of us getting ready and made sure we stayed on time throughout the day. Any ideas we had, Nadean went with them. Everyone loved her and her assistant, Kim! They were so much fun and made everyone feel comfortable. Some of our guests even commented that the photographer was great because she wasn't "right in your face." We cannot wait until we get our professional pictures back from Gene Ho Photography!

We worked with Nadean and her assistant for our October wedding and are very pleased with our pictures! They were a dream to work with and Nadean's positive energy and attitude were infectious! We hired Kasey from Gene Ho photography to be our wedding photographer, and she was absolutely fantastic! Gene Ho's wedding packages are very reasonably priced, and they even traveled to our site on John's Island, SC at no additional cost! Kasey and her assistant were incredibly nice and very easy to work with, and they did a great job of directing for different shots, making everyone feel at ease, and capturing special moments throughout our wedding ceremony.

The photos from Gene and Kelly were great! He tried to accommodate all the special ones I asked for and made them look wonderful. The proofs he sent were better than expected. Nadean Ho was my photographer for both my engagement photo session in downtown Charleston and my wedding at The William Aiken House. She is so much fun to work with and makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Her prices are affordable and she has an amazing creative eye to catch moments that you would never even think of. I had never done a photo shoot before working with her but she gave me a lot of guidance and helped me pose to find my best angles. I would recommend Nadean to any bride looking for a great photographer in South Carolina.

Using Gene Ho for my photographer for my wedding was my dream. As soon as we started planning my wedding, the first person I booked before anything including my venue was Gene and I couldn't have asked for better! Gene and his assistant were so professional and had so many great ideas. He was able to take request from my family and me on any certain pictures we wanted and did it with a smile on his face. He is a great joy to work with. I cannot wait to see how amazing his work was. I loved the picture that he put on facebook the day after our wedding. It just shows how amazing he is!

Loved loved loved Gene and his staff! If you are the type of person who doesn't do well with saying cheese he will still be able to take beautiful photos! He was super helpful and always there to answer any questions I had throughout the process. I would highly recommend using Gene Ho for any occasion! He is truly an artist and a pleasure to work with. Oh my, Gene and his crew are the Bomb! My husband and I contracted Gene for our engagement photos and as our wedding photographer. Gene and his crew were amazing. I think they captured every move that was made during the wedding. My husband and I will definitely call on his service's again in the future.

You would be completely remiss to not look into hiring Gene Ho Photography for your wedding or other photo needs. Nadean was my main photographer and words cannot express how grateful I am that she was! She was super friendly, made you feel at ease in front of the camera, and above all, speedy with the camera. She went above and beyond to make my photography amazing at my wedding. And the value was even better. Prices were very reasonable compared to other photogs in the area and I feel like I received a tremendous value.

Everything was absolutely great with Gene. He himself was available for our wedding date and traveled to St. Augustine, FL for our wedding at no additional charge. His photos were absolutely amazing. Our engagement pictures a few months before were also absolutely great and done by another one of his photographers Erin. Not enough good things can be said about him and his work. The price point was also right on the money. Not extremely high like some wedding photographers can be and I'm absolutely sure his work is better than all of them anyway. Highly recommended! We had Gene and Kasey shoot our wedding at Wachesaw Plantation last November, they were outstanding. Kasey came to the rehearsal dinner and was so wonderful to get all of the shots we requested. Our families loved her and she never pulled us away from conversations, she just went with the flow.

Gene puts you at ease immediately, he was flexible and even followed my husband's golf group around in a cart to get the perfect shots. The team was a perfect fit with our relaxed garden wedding. Our photos turned out beautifully. The way they manipulated the light and got the most perfect shots from our day's amazing weather, we couldn't be happier!

After a interviewing several other photographers my (now) husband and I knew we wanted Nadean for our May wedding the moment we sat down with her in a little Charleston cafe over a year ago. Not only were the pictures she showed us of previous weddings she did overwhelmingly beautiful but her personality was so bubbly and friendly it was like we had been friends for years! We choose the Heritage Package which included our engagement session, a bridal session, and wedding day photography. Our breath was taken away after every shoot. With our engagement shoot Nadean walked with us around historical Charleston and her eye for a good picture is unbeatable. During my bridal shoot we did the same thing but Nadean showed up early to scope out some good picture spots. Not only was Nadean professional she was approachable and friendly! She took my picture ideals and molded them into reality, and even took pictures I could have never dreamed of thinking of and making them pieces of art! On the wedding day she knew exactly what I wanted and fulfilled not only my request but went above and beyond what I could have asked for. You know one of the great pieces of wedding advice people love to give is never hire a friend to do a professionals job, well with Nadean we got the best of both worlds! She will definitely be a staple in our lives for all our photography needs. Next up maternity pictures! But we have a few years for that ;

From the moment my Dad found out I was engaged he decided that we were going to use Gene Ho Photography our wedding. I'm a bit controlling, so it was hard allow him to make this decision for us. I must say my dad did an excellent job selecting our photographer and I couldn't have done any better myself. Gene has a very calming personality, which is very helpful because planning a wedding can be stressful. The photojournalism he displayed in our engagement photos and our guest book has only hightended our anticipation for the final package. The day of our wedding Gene Ho and Heather Moore were sure to capture every single moment of our day and our guest barely noticed they were there. My husband and I are so excited and we can't wait to see our pictures.

I can not say enough good things about Gene Ho Photography. I absolutely LOVE my wedding pictures. They are beautiful & I do not take good pictures, but they managed to make me look good. There were 2 photographers that were assigned to my wedding, they send more for bigger weddings. They tooko pics with all types of cameras to get different effects. I have black & white, color, & mixtures of black & white. They were not evasive in any way and were never in the way. Just look at their website & you will see the quality of their work. They were a little pricey, but once I saw their pics, I knew I would pay anything!

I called Gene Ho Photography in Myrtle Beach after looking at their website. I loved the uniqueness of the photos, they weren't the traditional, standing in a line, photos. I fell in love with Andy and Scott's photos, and when I called I was able to request them. I was so happy! I asked about a custom package as I did not need them for 4-5 hours as my wedding was at sunset, and they came up with a package just for us! I told Andy when he called if I fell walking to make sure he got it... funny thing is I did fall, and he did get it!! They were fun and laid back as we are also, but were very professional and patient with the kids. Can't wait to see the pics, which are in the mail! I am sure they will be beautiful! Highly recommend them to anyone!!!

Gene Ho and his assistant, Nadean Bruhleman photographed our wedding. From the get-go I was impressed with their professionalism and their portfolios. When they arrived on our wedding day, they told us that we wouldn't notice them, but not to worry they would be there capturing every moment. The photographs were perfect beyond my dreams it was so hard trying to cut the photos down to 30 for our album, since all of them were so good.

In choosing our package, the flexibility was great. I was able to substitute bridal portraits for more hours of service at the reception for no additional cost. I have already recommended them to all of my friends in the area and would recommend them to anyone who asks. I still keep in touch with Nadean. Great people, even better photographers.

Best money spent!! We wanted quality photography and our memories beautifully recorded and we got exactly that!! We received our proofs very soon after our wedding and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Not only did I adore the photos but they are actually the best wedding photos I've ever seen! People make comments on them all the time. I can't rave about them enough!

I was referred to Gene Ho photography by a friend in my MBA course in Charlotte, NC. She had used them for her second wedding and loved them. I emailed the website and Nadean called me back in less then 24 hours. We talked about the packages and what they offered-but what I liked the best was that they allowed me to customize what I wanted (ie I didnt want a bunch of 4x6 prints rather a cd with all the prints and the right to copy if need be). Nadean was so great to work with-she came to Charlotte for the engagement pictures, came early to Charleston where the wedding was to do Bridal shots, and we had the wedding a few days later. She has become a really good friend and I have made her my official family photographer. Gene Ho is a wonderful company to work with and they do exceptional work for the money!!!!

Nadean is the best. Pictures turned out wonderful. As a plus sized bride the pictures and feeling like I looked good and she nailed it.

I ended up switching photographers at the last minute & luckily they were available. I had Melissa as our main photographer as well at Heather who was equally as awesome, and an male assistant photographer. I loved my photos, they turned out beautiful. The only thing I would have liked is to have more direction from them as far as poses... at the time the photos were being taken I felt like I was just out there on my own having to ask several times if I was doing what they wanted. But, they turned out beautiful so I cannot complain!

I had a blast going back and forth with Kasey making sure we were on the same page with what I expected. Our engagement shoot came out beautifully. Day of, she and Patterson were great. Very behind the scenes, but still got a ton of amazing shots. I wish I had made a list of certain photos I really wanted, but she didn't miss many. Compared to other MB photographers, I thought the value was great. Not a ton of money with great results.

I hired Gene Ho Photography to shoot my wedding in September. I have only met with my photographer for the engagement shoot but we had such a pleasant experience during it that I know we will have much success on the big day. Gene Ho offers various affordable packages that would fit any bride's budget.

It has taken me almost a year to write this review and my friends finally urged me to do so. I discovered Gene Ho photography at a bridal show and their work looked gorgeous so I worked with them to create a package and booked. We had our engagement and weddings pictures done by Gene Ho, with an additional photographer at the wedding. When we received our engagement pictures back, there were about 4 really good ones but a lot were missing or the coloring/editing was off.

Fast forward to the wedding-we had two photogs to make sure nothing was missed as photos were #1 to me. We met at the church and did some photos before of the bridal party then family, then there was the wedding ceremony, then we took a trolley to the reception with one photog on the trolley to take pics of the fun and one went ahead to shoot the reception/cocktail hour. Everything seemed like a pretty good night, they were shooting photos it seemed, although there were more than a few times we had to look for them or had to lead them to a place we wanted photos-if you're a photographer-you should know the venue and have the creative eye to bring us to where photos should be. And one of the main reasons we chose the venue-the antique winding staircase-there wasn't a single picture taken on.

It took two months to see any pictures after the wedding-where most photogs these days put up 'sneak peeks' or blogs. And when we did-there were so many shots missing that tears were literally running down my face. The biggest day of my life and I had a list of almost 30 moments missing including most of the ceremony, the trolley, cocktail hour, and the lighting was terrible almost everywhere. Since there's not enough space to go into detail, let's just say to this day we feel so let down; I'm so sad to know that I'll never see the moments we missed from that day. As a bride you're so busy that most of the day is a blur. We did get a few awesome photos but overall, are very disappointed.

My husband and I got married last September and used Gene Ho Photography as our photographer. After having had time to really review our photos from the wedding, I have to admit that my husband and I are really not satisfied. I want to preface this by saying I was really excited about using Gene Ho and booked him over a year before our wedding because of all the wonderful reviews we saw on this website! Once we received our wedding photos, we were really taken aback by how few there were. For instance, i only have 4 photos of me and all of my bridesmaids. The photographer only took the photos on one background, which in our case was in front of a gazebo, and never tried to do any other combination of pictures. So, in essence, I have four photos of the same shot of my bridesmaids and me. I also don't have any shots of, for example, the flower bouquets that my BM's and I were carrying. I am not super picky or girly, but it seemed like those kind of shots would be standard to take at a wedding. Another example of this is that my husband and I only have five of the "staged" shots of he and I from after the ceremony. These shots are virtually the same picture, with the difference being that we are kissing in some and smiling in others. I say all of this to say that I feel like the photographer was a bit lazy. He seemed to lack creativity and almost felt like they were just kind of "factory lining" the pictures. There were so many cool spots at our venue (like a garden, an old barn) that I imagined he would use and instead we literally only utilized an old gazebo and the front lawn. In all, we feel like we really only have a few photos from which we can actually frame and use. There is also a big chunk of our wedding reception where there are no photos. It happened to be a big moment, where people were break dancing (including me in my wedding dress) etc.. and there is nothing. I am overall not pleased and don't think I would use this company again.
