Rachael and her team were absolutely amazing and I can't recommend them enough! I showed pictures to Rachael and she absolutely nailed it the first time on the trial. I can't even tell you how many compliments me and my friends got on the day of the wedding. It's definitely the best professional hair and makeup I've ever had done and I would recommend them to anyone. Communication prior to the event was also seamless and flexible and Rachael is a joy to work with. It was fun having her and her and Tara in the room with us before the wedding. -

Rachael was so fantastic to work with for our elopement. I had the vision of 'elevated natural' makeup for our day and she absolutely nailed it! Not only was my makeup beyond perfect, but my hair was as well. As someone with thin/fine hair I was worried that my hair would not last the hike up to our location but it lasted well beyond. I really looked and felt my most gorgeous for our day and it was all thanks to Rachael! She was also really flexible and came to our Airbnb to get me done up and even gave me an extra lip gloss and sponge with powder so I could touch up once on the mountain if need be. If I could go back, I would re-hire Rachael again and again! -

It was so great working with Rachael for my wedding hair and makeup. From trial to day of, she was kind, responsive, professional, and did an absolute stellar job on my hair and makeup! I have curly hair and she did a wonderful job working with my natural curls and styling in such a way that it really accentuated the natural texture. Plus, Rachael's flexibility and ability to travel to meet us to get ready before my husband and I left for our elopement in Crested Butte was really nice. I'd work with her again in a heartbeat! -

Amazing work
I cannot recommend FaceOfMakeUp enough. I got married a couple weeks ago and Lisa and Katie did an incredible job. I booked with Rachael over a year ago and she was responsive, professional, and super easy to work with! Day of, Lisa and Katie came to our Airbnb to do hair and make up for myself, 4 bridesmaids, and my mother and MIL. They were on time, SO friendly and kind, and worked so quickly and efficiently. Everyone looked so beautiful, I was blown away. They exceeded my expectations! If you are looking for hair and make up in the Salida area, this is who you want! -

Rachael was so amazing to work with. She and her sister were a fantastic team and ensured the day ran smoothly. My bridesmaids could not stop raving about how much they loved their hair and makeup. They both did a great job of being versatile and responding to everyone's specifc requests. Some wanted full glam, while others wanted a more subtle soft natural glam, and they totally delivered.
I had a trial with Rachael about 4 months before my wedding and had a great experience, but totally changed my mind on my hairstyle. Rachael did an amazing job of pivoting to my new request and making my vision come to life. Both my hair and makeup looked absolutely perfect until 2 am. That's through over 12+ hours of photos, crying, mingling, dancing, laughing... I was so amazed!

We worked with Rachael and Katie on my wedding day. They did hair and makeup for 8 people which included moms, sisters, and flower girls. They did a stellar job and had everything they needed to make us feel comfortable, heard, and feeling beautiful. Ours was a destination wedding (we're from Dallas), but I so wish they lived closer so that I could have my hair and makeup done more frequently by them. They brought a nice and calm vibe to our getting ready time, and it felt like they were part of the family/group. I am very picky about my hair, and Katie nailed it. I couldn't have been happier. Rachael's expertise shines through her work, and I was instantly grateful that I had decided to splurge a little on her services. Our entire group was more than satisfied. -

Amazing Elopement Hair/Makeup
Rachael was incredible. She was easy to communicate with and accommodating of my last minute elopement in Twin Lakes. She was punctual, personable, and in general fun to hang out with while getting ready! She made sure to ask questions about what I wanted my hair and makeup to look like, using reference photos and comparisons. As someone who does not do my hair or makeup hardly ever, I trusted Rachael completely to make me feel my best. She also made my skin look great despite its imperfections. I felt amazing all day! 10/10 recommend! -

Beyond happy with the result
Rachael at Face of Makeup is absolutely fabulous. She was so easy to communicate with during the time leading up to my wedding. We had a great time doing a hair/makeup trial and the wedding day couldn't have gone more smoothly. Her and Lisa handled our ~10 girls getting hair and makeup done without running behind at all.
I don't typically wear any makeup, so am always nervous getting it done professionally. Rachael nailed the natural look that accentuated my best features. We also had a very rainy ceremony (outside) and my makeup didn't run or look any worse for the wear.
Lisa and Rachael work together as a great team. Lisa did my hair while Rachel did my makeup in order to make the process quicker and reduce my time in the chair. My updo was perfect, and also stayed perfectly together throughout the night.
They are thoughtful and both wonderful people to spend with while making you look your best. Can't recommend Face of Makeup enough! -

Far Above and Beyond
Rachael of FaceofMakeup Artistry far exceeded my expectations. She was very responsive from the very first contact. Her skill level is 5 star professional! I can’t imagine a better artist for my hair and makeup. She was even willing and able to accommodate a last minute date change! That never happens. Not to mention she was willing to button me into my dress (since we eloped and had no guests). She was extremely friendly, easy to talk with and very personable. She captured my vision beyond my dreams. I wish I could do it all again, just so I could feel so beautiful and I owe it to her! Look no further for a hair and makeup artist; Rachael is the BEST!

Amazing! Wish I could use Rachael for all my special events.
Originally I planned to do my own hair & makeup for our elopement. At the last minute Rachael was able to fit me in and not only help with hair & makeup but she came an hour into the mountains.
She was friendly, punctual, and personable. But even better she had the skills combined with top products to make me feel my best on the big day. Both the makeup & updo lasted through 2 miles of hiking at elevation, still looking beautiful at the top of the hike! Hands down would work with Rachael again and so happy with her work for my elopement! -

Rachael and her team did mine and my bridesmaids hair and makeup for our wedding and I couldn't have been happier. Rachael and Lisa were so great to work with. I live in Denver, my venue was in Leadville and they made it so easy for me and the rest of my bridal party! Working with Rachael and Katie was fantastic. They managed hair and make up for myself, my four bridesmaids, the officiant, the mother of the groom, and my mother, all before 1:00 pm. She helped us figure out the schedule and kept things going smoothly and on time - and was also a pleasure to spend time with! None of us wear much make up, and they did a great job of making us all look great while still feeling comfortable. Rachael also did an amazing job handing my non-traditional hair - it's short, and shaved on one side, but she managed to make it feel very bridal and special, while still feeling like me. -

Perfect Hair, Perfect Day
Rachael at Face of Makeup brought all my bridal hair dreams to life! Not only was she amazing at her job, but she was such a dream to work with. Her and her entire team made me and my bridal party absolutely glow. I couldn't be happier with how seamless the process was. Rachael listened my needs and even anticipated a look I didn't think of. My colors were a rich sienna - I had suggested using a light pink lip color. Rachael suggested using a more rich color similar to the sienna. She said if I didn't like it we could try the pink, but thanks to her suggestion, I think my look was stepped up to the next level. I would definitely recommend her to any bride in the Buena Vista area and beyond. -

I had to reschedule my wedding due to the pandemic twice. With living in Fort Collins we never did a trial run either, but we didn't need to because Rachael is that good. Everything was coordinated via email. I had sent her pictures of the hair I wanted and she did her magic with my makeup. I felt so beautiful.
Also, Rachael was so nice and accommodating. We had a few last minute changes and girls that wanted makeup that day. She adjusted and stayed later. (Thank you!)
Plus, she was the sweetest. I felt like I knew her forever and she was one of the girls. It was so awesome to work with her. Her energy is definitely what you want on the day of your wedding. We had a lot going on with people in and out of our cabin. I was able to relax and enjoy myself because I felt so taken care of.
Lastly, the product she used was super nice. My makeup didn't feel caked on. I have the most sensitive skin and usually break out with different makeup. I was surprised when I woke up the next day with clear skin.

Having never met me or any idea of what I looked like, Rachael stepped into my cabin with everything she could possibly need to make me look wonderful. She did a wonderful job of taking my thoughts on what I wanted and making them happen. At points during the process, she asked me to check my appearance and let her know if anything needed to be changed. What she had conceived on her own was so spot on that I didn't need to modify anything. Great work and great person to work with. -

I highly recommend Rachael for your wedding! She did a fabulous job styling my hair for the wedding, it looked beautiful and even withstood 40-50 mph winds! She was a pleasure to plan and spend time with on my wedding day. My only regret is that she didnt do my makeup as well, as I only learned she did makeup when she was styling my hair. Absolutely amazing!
My fiance & I decided to do an elopement with just us & our dogs in the mountains. I definitely wanted my hair & makeup to be simple for our ceremony. Rachel was way beyond my expectations! With so many things that can go wrong at your wedding, how you look and feel shouldn’t be one of them. Rachael offered a trial prior to my wedding date, but being over 10 hours away I was unable to meet with her beforehand. I put all of my trust into Rachael and she delivered, above and beyond. We had multiple communications leading up to the wedding day, letting her know what I was envisioning, etc. The result was me feeling absolutely stunning from 10 am, when she started, to Midnight when I crawled into bed. The products used were still fresh and in place after 6 hours of outdoor, scenic photos, and a lot of happy tears. On top of the outstanding work that Rachael does, she also has a way of making you feel at ease. Learning about Rachael's experiences and just chatting made the "getting ready" experience even more memorable. I cannot thank Rachael enough for making me look so beautiful on such a special day. -

Rachael and team are a dream to work with. Like many Covid brides, we had to reschedule our wedding. Rachael was accommodating, flexible and patient.
I truly loved my bridal look and each of my bridesmaids loved theirs. Katie completely nailed my bridal look; hair and makeup! Everyone's makeup looked natural yet enhanced and stayed on all day and night. Our stylists were professional, wore masks, and kept a very calming yet structured schedule.

I met Rachael 5 years ago at my maid of honor's wedding in NC. She traveled from Atlanta to do that wedding. When I got engaged a few years later, I immediately knew I wanted to find Rachael again to do my wedding. Since the NC wedding, she relocated to Colorado, but was still willing to travel to Atlanta to do my wedding. She's been a trooper with my rescheduling due to COVID and I couldn't have asked for a better artist to make my bridal party look so stunning. -

Rachael was beyond amazing from beginning to end. I struggled finding someone willing to travel and help get me ready for my sunrise elopement but once I found Rachael everything was easy. She was very responsive and great with communication over e-mail. I was able to book a trial appointment with her a couple of months prior and she was so easy to talk with. She was right on time the morning of and was such a calming presence. She took all the stress out of getting my hair and makeup ready and she created the perfect start to my day. We traveled from Virginia to Colorado for our wedding. Rachael was listed as a vendor on the venues website. After speaking with my photographer on the phone she came highly recommended. Due to covid I didn't get to do a hair and make a trial so I put my faith in Rachael's hands and MAN WAS SHE AMAZING! I have mild hormonal acne on my jawline that I am very self conscious about and Rachael covered every bit of it and made my skin look FLAWLESS. My hair looked exactly how I envisioned, and my bridesmaids looked beautiful. Rachael also made a special call to her husband (who was our videographer) when she knew champagne was giving me a stomachache to bring us something else to drink while getting ready. To say she went above and beyond, and exceeded my expectations is an understatement. BONUS, If you book her husband as your videographer she sticks around and helps operate the drone for some amazing drone shots. Hair and makeup artist, licensed drone operator, and basically a superhero. I highly recommend Rachael for your hair and makeup needs if I could give her more than 5 stars I would! -

Rachael was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Rachael was professional, easy to communicate with and quick to respond to all my questions! I opted to do a hair and makeup trial with Rachael and she was great at executing my vision and proposing ideas. Rachael also provided hair and makeup services to various family members (age ranging from 3y to 55!) on the day of my wedding and was wonderful with all of them. My family loved chatting with Rachael and they were all very pleased with their hair and makeup. Rachael did an exceptional job with my bridal hair and makeup! She was able to conceal all blemishes beautifully while keeping my makeup looking really natural! We could not have been happier we chose Rachael for our hair and makeup and I would highly recommend her services! Working with Rachael was a highlight of my wedding. We had a pre-COVID design session for a little extra and it was such a joy to get to know her process beforehand. Then we knew what to do on the day of my wedding - which was a much more distracted space with folks asking me lots of questions. But Rachael did her thing And I felt lovely. The whole afternoon and evening all I had (and continue to have in my photos) are buckets of compliments. I loved my hair especially. She made it look better than I’d imagined! I even had a cold sore develop the week before and when I emailed her about it, she wasn’t fazed a bit! She just chose a darker lipstick and voila! You couldn’t see a thing. She also did the hair and makeup for my Matron of Honor, and pinned up my mom's hair and they both looked gorgeous! There’s nothing she can’t do with her vast knowledge from years of working for news networks and with celebrities. And those stories made working with her even more fun! Thanks so much, Rachael! Wonderful makeup for my wedding
Rachael was a dream to work with. She was easy to reach and make an appointment with, even on a day that was already busy for her. She also took all of my thoughts and ideas into account and made sure it looked exactly as I was hoping. I was initially hesitant about airbrushing, but I really loved how it looked! And it felt great! It came out looking natural yet appropriate for the day--with a killer red lip! I loved it. Rachael was also wonderful to work with, made me feel relaxed and in good hands. Face of makeup outstanding
I booked Rachael at Face of Makeup for my wedding day in April. She was amazing! She did the hair and makeup for our 3 bridesmaids, as well as for myself and my bride! It was outstanding! We have never looked better! She perfectly captured what we wanted and made us all look our very best for our wedding! Rachael is the nicest person! She helped calm my nerves on the wedding day and she even did our hair and makeup trials just 2 days before the wedding! It was more than I had ever dreamed! -

Rachael is AMAZING in every way!
I booked Rachael for my adventure sunrise elopement after my other makeup artist pulled out unexpectedly, and rudely. Rachael was great from the start. She assured me she could be there anytime day or night and do hair and makeup for my mom, sister, sister in law, and mother in law for the family ceremony happening later in the day.
Two days before our big day, my face broke out into a horrible, painful heat rash so it was dry, flaky, itchy and painful. I was panicking. Rachael assured me it would be okay and that she does airbrushing so she won't be rubbing my skin and irritating it even more. Rachael showed up to do my HMU at 12:30am for my elopement (mind you we did not do a trial run or anything). She was right on time and SO friendly! I felt like we had been friends forever in the first minutes of our interaction. She found the best lighting in the house, set up, and listened to exactly what I wanted. She truly made me feel like a queen. She kept stopping so I could look at myself in a mirror to make sure I like it. I was worried foundation matching, but once again, she nailed it. My hair was exactly what I wanted, as was my makeup. She even gave me a brand new lip gloss for touch ups.
A few hours later (5:45am) Rachael came back to the house to do the HMU for my mom, sister, sister in law, and mother in law. A few people in that bunch are very hard to please (my mom and sister in law). Well both the hard to please people loved her and loved their hair and makeup. I have never seem my mom think she was beautiful, and Rachael made her feel beautiful. They all loved her and her work.
After everyone went to the venue, I had to come back to get a touch up before our family ceremony. Rachael was there and ready to roll. We wiped off all my face makeup because I felt like my heat rash skin needed it. She redid my makeup, re-curled my hair and I was ready for the next ceremony.
I cannot recommend Rachael enough. She is relatable, funny, knows how to do amazing HMU, and is just a really awesome person. I am so glad my other HMU lady pulled out and left me in the lurch because if she hadn't I would've never gotten to meet Rachael and experience her talent.

I am so grateful to have found Rachael! I am pretty minimal when it comes to applying my makeup but for my wedding I had some specific requests. I wanted to hide some annoying acne scars while maintaining a natural bride look. As soon as I met Rachael I knew I hit the jackpot..She listens and understood my vision right away and made me feel like I was hanging out with one of my best girlfriends. She is master at hair and makeup and goes step by step through the process so there was no surprises! I felt so confident and truly beautiful on my wedding day. what more could a girl ask for! Rachael was beyond a pleasure to work with! I had concerns with her being able to handle so many people at once, but she surpassed my expectations! She did hair and make up for 6 the morning prior to my wedding. She maintained professionalism in the hectic rush that comes about as the time approaches. She also was a joy to talk to and get to know! Additionally, she made me feel like a priority in the midst of hair/make up trials prior to my wedding. Personally, I live in Denver and so scheduling wasn't the easiest, but she found time for me. I HIGHLY recommend Rachael! -

The wedding makeup was absolutely beautiful and exactly what I wanted (even when I wasn't sure what that meant, she helped figure it out). She was very responsive, friendly, and reasonably priced. Rachael even helped coordinate the hairdresser because we had nine women who needed hair/makeup; the hairdresser worked seamlessly with her. I highly recommend booking with her. I can't believe I found her on a whim for my Mt. Princeton wedding and I'm so thankful I did!
