Eric was awesome! He is extremely well organized, and has great ideas for making the reception so different than the same old same old. I loved having the meetings prior to the wedding where we sat down and reviewed the details. I had not expected that from the DJ. The wedding was fantastic, and we had a lot of our guests comment that the DJ was great!!!

Eric did the best job! He took ALLOT of stress off of our sholders. He made sure that everything moved along smoothly. He involved everyone, even those that I thought wouldn't get up and dance. I can't list all of the compliments that we got on the ceremony and reception, but most of them are due to Eric's hard work. Eric helped us remember things that we would have never planned if we wasn't there to help. He was professional, while making all of the planning fun and kept the focus on making sure that everything was a reflection of my husband and I, our relationship and our personalities.

Eric Herod exceeded every expectation we had. His professionalism was above and beyond any wedding DJ we contacted. The ideas he had for the wedding reception were not only great, they were things we had never heard of; all of them were wonderful and well executed. He was the key to making our reception one that we will never forget and one that most of the people attending said was the best they have ever seen. We will definitely recommend him to others as well as seek him out for any other time we need a DJ.

Eric provides much more than just DJ services. He is truly a "Master of Ceremony," during our reception he worked with us and the other vendors to keep the evening moving along a timeline we worked out beforehand. Without being cheesy or domineering, he accomplished it in such a smooth fashion that the guests never realized they were being moved along a schedule. Eric's skills as a DJ are matched by his skills as an Emcee, he offers a truly unique way of introducing the wedding party and the Bride & Groom that our guests talked about all night, and that set an intimate tone for the reception party despite the large number of guests. Our reception was important to us and so we felt (before and after the wedding) that our investment in Eric Herod paid off large dividends in the smooth execution of our big day.

Eric Herod is the best dj ever! He is so much fun and helpful. He will help make your wedding exactly what you want it to be and more. He is amazing! I would highly recommend him to everyone I know. He will personalize your reception for you in so many ways. He helps to make your reception not like any other typical reception, he helps to make it your own. He listens to exactly what you want and does it for you even better than you could have ever hoped and dreamed. He is the reason our wedding reception was such a huge success. All we kept on hearing was "your all's dj was amazing!!" Definitely choose him to be your dj! He is great!

Eric Herod made our reception more fun than I could have imagined it being. Everyone raved about it (and Eric) to us when we got back from our honeymoon. Looking back, I would not have changed anything about the way Eric conducted the schedule, the music, and himself. Not only is he a wonderful DJ for your choice, but he is also a wonderful person!! My husband and I absolutely LOVED working with him.

Our wedding was a blast. Eric helped us schedule our wedding from the moment the ceremony started to the grand exit. We met with him 3 times before the wedding and we communicated though email constantly. He came to and practically ran our rehersal. By the time our wedding came, we felt like Eric was one of our friends. He really took the time to get to know us and our families. On the day of the wedding, we didn't have to worried about anything. We just showed up and Eric told us where to be and what to do throughout the whole night. We are still recieving compliments from friends and family about his services. It was well worth the cost. You will not find a better DJ.

Within 10 minutes of sitting down with Eric, we knew that we were going to go with him. My husband (fiance at the time) and I both expressed this same feeling to each other after our first meeting with Eric. We are so happy that we did choose him to be our DJ at our wedding.

Eric is more than just a DJ - he is really a master of ceremonies. He created so many special moments during the night- including our "love story" in which he told the story of how the bride and groom met, the longevity dance in which couples married for different amounts of time got on the dance floor, and the dramatic exit when all the guests waved sparklers as we left. Eric was very attentive to photo opportunities, and he worked closely with the photographer to coordinate all these special pictures.

We met with Eric three times before the wedding. He was extremely thorough in going over all the different events that would occur during the reception, and helped us select the music for each of these events. He provided so many different resources- an excellent planning website, CDs with music, and his own extensive experience. Meetings with Eric were in fact really fun- he made me feel really excited about the reception, and all the fun things that me and my husband and family and guests had in store. I knew that was a great indication of the atmosphere he would bring to the wedding itself.

Although Eric cost more than we had initially budgeted for a DJ, after hearing Eric talk about his vision for our wedding, and receiving his booklet of information outlining all the different events that would occur during the reception, we knew we wanted him to be our DJ. And we believe that he was entirely worth the cost- the majority of time during a wedding is the reception time, so you really want someone who will confidently handle everything behind the scenes, so that you (the bride and groom) can enjoy your day. Eric was this person, because he planned out the whole night so well, got people dancing, and created a very personal reception.

So many people commented to us what a great DJ Eric was, not at all like the corny, loud image most people have of DJs. He really goes above and beyond to make sure that the bride and groom and the guests have a really wonderful time. Eric is also very classy and professional- he has excellent comic timing, especially when he introduced the members of the wedding party with humorous little comments about them.

My husband and I cannot say enough good things about Eric. He is the DJ you want at your wedding, and we encourage all brides and grooms out there to go with him, just like we did!

Here are the things Eric did well:
- He's easy to work with;
- There were no last minute charges - his pricing was straightforward (though quite high);
- He had creative ideas and was willing to personalise the wedding with dedications;
- He sent us a book ("best wedding reception ever" by Peter Merry) which had really great reception ideas and was very helpful for our planning;
- He attended the rehearsal and helped with details like making sure the men were holding the women's arms properly, etc.;
- He gave us a discounted rate ($2k as opposed to $3k) since it was off-season;
- There was no inappropriate or offensive music played;
- Guests stated they enjoyed his personality and the reception.

I always try to look on the bright side and give people the benefit of the doubt, but for the most part I was dissatisfied with Eric at the reception (which surprised me a LOT because he's so personable and easy to work with). I used to work at wedding receptions, so I have a lot of experience with wedding DJs, and high expectations that were definitely not met. Here are the issues we had:

- There were several moments of dead air (each lasting several minutes). For what we paid, there should have been NO time without music. That's one reason for hiring a DJ and not a band.
- When he played songs or made announcements that cleared the dance floor he was unable to fix the problem graciously. For example, instead of the bouquet/garter we planned a nice dance for single men and women so they could mingle a bit, but instead he called up single girls only & made a joke at their expense (I don't think he meant it maliciously, but it came out quite badly). Instead of our nice, hopeful moment (I'm an 32-yr old 1st time bride), it just served to highlight their single status. Additionally, there was a lot of time when no one was on the dance floor, which related in part to the fact that the weather was lovely and people were on the outdoor veranda, but also partly to the fact that Eric couldn't switch gears fast enough to keep people interested in dancing (and we have a crowd that loves to dance...usually).
- Eric gave us a lot of music to listen to and make requests from. He had an online form for us to fill out, but when I didn't have time to do his data entry, he said I could email him the list of songs & ratings we made originally after listening to hundreds upon hundreds of songs that he sent us. In the book he gave us it says basically that "you should be able to pick out every song that is played at your wedding", so I expected he would play mostly songs on the list I sent him. I didn't expect every song played to be from our list, but MOST of the songs he played were not ones we picked, AND one slow song that I notated I specifically wanted to DANCE TO was played during dinner, so my husband and I had to get up from our meal to dance to it. A few of of the (maybe 8) "must-play" songs we listed I never heard, so he either played them during cocktail hour (which seems to defeat the purpose of "must-play") or skipped them altogether. If he was going to ignore our requests, I wish he would have told us in advance so we could get the many hours of prep time back.
- He has a lot of personalisations, which seems great, but the execution was poor.
--He does personalised wedding party intros, but we told him we wanted short, funny one-line intros. The wedding party intros took AGES and were much longer than we wanted. Apparently the guests enjoyed it, but it wasn't what we discussed (I couldn't hear most of it from where we were standing).
--He also does the "Love Story" which seems nice, but he completely skipped the high energy intro we wanted, confused us (& venue staff) by not announcing our names at the intro, so we missed the timing, and he just left us standing awkwardly (not sitting in chairs as we originally discussed) near the dance floor while he told "our" story.
--He had a phone number that we could call to do voice-dedications for songs we requested, but the quality of the recordings was so poor that it sounded like the teacher from Charlie Brown (whah-whah-whah-whah). If he had told us how poor these would sound we would have told him to skip them, and not been upset by the time we wasted writing and doing the dedications. HOWEVER, since no one could understand them, we were not only disappointed but distracted by the noise. (My husband thought that maybe he just had low-quality speakers...?)

Even with the discounted price, Eric's fee was double the average price of DJs in our area. We thought we were paying a premium for an exceptional DJ, and instead I feel like we got the bait and switch. He knows a lot and attempts to incorporate unique services that make him stand out, and our guests enjoyed the party (those we asked said he was 'fine' or 'good') but for a bride and groom that spent lots of money and time to set the mood and have a certain kind of reception, it was a huge disappointment.

Working with Eric Herod was a highlight for our wedding experience. His knowledge and skill of how to direct a reception made it a seamless and easy party for us. From our first conversation to him announcing us at the reception, Eric was exactly the guy we wanted both behind the scenes and interacting with our guests on the mic. He was super flexible and willing to work with us to create the exact day we wanted. He has a lot of unique ideas, enthusiasm, and passion for his craft. Our party would not have been the enjoyable and memorable time without Eric at the helm. I wholeheartedly recommend him, and am pleased to now consider him a friend.

Eric was absolutely wonderful. He provided great ideas and truly got to know us to help us make our day as perfect as we had imagined. He was always available to answer e-mails, g-chats, etc. He worked to mold what we had in our minds as the perfect reception and made it fit and move smoothly throughout the night. Similarly, he was amazing at coordinating the evening so everything went smoothly. My mother, wedding party, myself-- no one had to direct the evening, from the cake cutting to the bouquet toss. Eric arranged and kept everything moving, which was important beyond words. We were able to just enjoy our night! Overall, wonderful experience with Eric. He was great! I've already recommended him to many of my friends getting married and I recommend him to you, too!

Eric did an absolute wonderful job at our wedding. If it weren't for him, our wedding wouldn't have been what it was. He did a great job mixing music for our different cultures. He had a wonderful charisma about him that could bring people out to do the dance floor. We could not have asked for a more wonderful DJ to be apart of our special day. Thanks Eric, you're the best!
P.S. The love story was phenomenal, it really gave everyone in the room an idea of what my husband and I's relationship was all about, and nearly brought me to tears.

We really enjoyed working with Eric! We met with him a few times throughout the planning process and when it came down to the day everything was just how we would have wanted it! He put so much effort into making our wedding day special and the "Love Story" was perfect! It was such a great touch to the evening and my husband and I were so pleased with how it turned out! We honestly couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding day and we recommend him to any Bride and Groom that want to have a night to remember! : )

Eric made my wedding so special. He took so much time to personalize everything. He added so many special touches to it all. For the ceremony he was there to help me pick music and was never without a song suggesting. For the reception he made is SO FUN! He kept us all laughing. I have gotten so many compliments from my guests about how great he was. Overall, he is passionate about what he does, and he will do everything in his power to make your wedding day absolutely one of the most beautiful, amazing, unforgettable days of your life!

Working with Eric was truly a pleasure. We were told by several people that our wedding was one of the best they had ever attended and a lot of that had to do with Eric. I have never seen so many people on the dance floor from my 20 month old nephew to my husband's 80+ year old grandmother. Everyone had a wonderful time.

Eric helped customize our reception to be a unique reflection of my huband and my personalities from our choreographed first dance, our one-of-a-kind garter/bouquet traditions, our Love Story, our bridal party roast, down to our last song. We couldn't have pulled off such a wonderful party without him. My father-in-law now wants to hold a yearly anniversary party and have Eric DJ every year! :)

After reviewing several DJ's I finally choose to go with Eric Herod Entertainment and I am very pleased that I did. I could have not asked for anything better from what we received from Eric. I am amazed at the time and effort he put into creating our song list along with the time he put into creating our Love Story and our Roast for the wedding party.
He made my husband and I feel very comfortable working with him very personable. Working with Eric was truly a pleasure and I could not have asked for anything better. He comes very highly recommended by my husband and I.
