So much fun

Mick is clearly passionate about making your wedding exactly what you want it to be. He also took time to make some great recommendations - which you should follow! He knows what he’s doing! From the perfect background music while people found their seat to getting people on the dance floor, he knows how to work every moment. He’s also great at MC’ing. There was such a funny moment where he picked on the best man during the speech - so hilarious and memorable. Hire Mick!!

Holiday Party

A Great MC

Mick was wonderful to work with. He was a great resource as we were looking at music options and timing of songs for our reception events. He was prompt and professional in all of our correspondence and was a ton of fun day of. He was a fun MC who helped keep the dance floor going all night which was really important to us.

We love Mick!!

We chose Mick to be the DJ for our 50th wedding anniversary party, and he was phenomenal! We had tried to book him for my daughter's wedding 10 years ago but he wasn't available. When we decided to have a big party including a renewal of vows and a whole reception with dinner and dancing, he was initally not going to be avialable, but was willing to rearrange his schedule to make himself available for our party...and I will be forever indebted to him for that. He was incredicble thorughout the whole process. He is so funny, so easy going, and yet so professional and very knowledgable about his business. He does not leave anything to chance. He provided all of the lighting and sound for our vow renewal ceremony as well as the MC for our reception. Everyone was commmenting on what a terrific DJ we had...they all wanted his contact information so that they could get him for their events as well. I have been to parties where not everyone is liking the music or dancing, but you can be sure this will never be the case with Mick. He got every single person out on the dance floor! Even the elderly people there were laughing and dancing and having a terrific time. Mick you are such an amazing person and we are so grateful for all that you did for us.

Mick Rocks!!!

Best DJ Around

Mick is amazing at what he does!! He tailors the experience to your needs and adds such a fun/personable atmosphere. My husband and I were looking to get creative in some areas of our wedding. For example, we really did not want to do a money dance or the garter removal/toss, and Mick was able to provide us with really creative alternatives that kept the atmosphere fun and exciting. So many people have complimented us on the music and just overall how much fun they had at our wedding, and we have Mick to thank for that. Thank you Mick!!

Best Dj ever!!

We are so happy we went with Mick for our Dj. A lot of people complimented us on the music and Dj we kept hearing about how much fun everyone was having . He’s the best dj we’ve ever seen at a wedding and we are so lucky to have found him. Mick has been doing this a long time and he really knows what he’s doing! He had great ideas to get people dancing that worked he truly is an entertainer who cares. He made the process easy and every event transitioned perfectly. We are so grateful and can’t recommend him enough. We also got the uplights and they really set the mood they were awesome. We went with his wife Julie as our wedding planner and we couldn’t be happier with her service either. We found out Mick is also a travel agent when we told him we were going on a cruise for our honeymoon he gave us a lot of tips and pointers that helped us a lot as first time cruisers we will definitely use his services next time we want to book a cruise.

Mick is passionate about his job, pleasant to work with and was patient through multiple postponements from the start of planning our wedding in early 2019 to finally celebrating July 3, 2022. Mick is the best DJ in the industry! He made the music planning process fun and easy. He’s fun, laid back and has a great sense of humor. He has creative suggestions throughout the planning process that we incorporated in the evening of our wedding and I’m so glad we did! Mick is fantastic! So many people asked for the playlist after the wedding! He was using brand new lights and speakers for our wedding and was positively giddy showing them off. DJ for Wedding and Reception

Mick was absolutely phenomenal from our first meeting until the end of the dancing! He was honest and on top of it. He provided a unique prospective and personality that we didn't experience with any other DJs we interviewed. His sense of humor matched ours perfectly... dry and sarcastic. We could also tell that he cared about our experience as well as the experience of our guests. He was considering every single minute from the second people stepped off the bus into the venue until our grand exit. I would definitely recommend Mick to anyone!

Mick is the man

Initially, my husband and I didn't really want a dj. However, we had a video call with our coordinator, Julie (The Best Wedding For You) and had the chance to meet Mick in the process. Mick totally sold us on his services and we have zero regrets. We were able to pick songs we wanted and gave Mick a general vibe that we were going for and he was able to handle the rest. Having an MC at the wedding DEFINITELY made the night more fun. Our guests were engaged and the dance floor was never empty. Since the wedding, we've received several compliments from guests about how funny the dj was. I can't imagine what our wedding would have been like without Mick (probably less fun if I'm being completely honest).

Best wedding duo ever!

Mick is the most awesome brilliant DJ and man you could possibly work with! I first saw Mick’s videos a few years ago and knew right away I wanted to hire him one day. Not only is Mick hilarious but he works incredibly hard to make sure your day is everything you could ever want. Mick meet us at the club to go over what the ceremony music would look like as well as show us what our uplighting would look like. It was like he read our minds with music choice. We wanted cool chill but fun music and he played everything from The Beetles, to Thomas Rhett, to Neil Diamond and more. Mick also cracks jokes such as, I not from Australia and there will be no shrimp on the barbie tonight. He made all our dreams come true. I wouldn’t imagine using anyone but him!

The Best DJ

We found Mick when we booked his wife as our wedding coordinator. If you book both of them you get a great deal on pricing. He was so great from start to finish. His process for setting up the playlists is stress free and easy. He also was so fun and enthusiastic throughout our event. Everyone loved him and tons of people were dancing throughout our reception (even though we aren't big dancers ourselves). Having him so in tune with our wedding coordinator made the event run smoothly as well. We can't recommend Mick enough!

Best wedding DJ - thank you Mick!

Mick was the DJ at our July 2021 wedding and he was absolutely incredible! We had no idea what we wanted to do at our reception, but Mick had so many suggestions and ideas and he helped us plan out a reception that was better than we could have ever imagined. He got our vibe about the type of music we wanted played with very little guidance from us and had everyone dancing the entire night. We got so many compliments from guests on how fun and incredible our DJ was, even several weeks after our wedding! Working with Mick was such a pleasure, we can’t recommend him enough!

Awesome Wedding DJ

We hired Mick as our wedding DJ and he did an amazing job! We had requested that he play several meaningful songs during the cocktail hour and dinner, and he did a great job of incorporating them while still keeping the energy high. It made the whole night that much more personal and meaningful! He also gave us great advice on the best options for our key songs (grand entrance, ceremony, etc). Our dance floor was packed the whole night and we got endless compliments from our guests about what a great DJ Mick is.

Fantastic DJ

Mick was the DJ for my sister’s wedding back in 2015. I knew that day if I were to ever get married in San Diego, he would have to be my DJ. I was fortunate to be able to book him for my 2021 wedding. I don’t know what you possibly couldn’t love about this man. He is an absolute joy to work with. If you want to include fun and humor into your wedding then he is your guy. Mick has so much experience in the wedding industry that he has a vast amount of knowledge and suggestions on what is going to give your guests a great experience. He brings a wonderful positive energy to your wedding. We took our group formals before guests arrived and we were all nervous, but Mick got us all to laugh and have fun by playing songs in the background. We all felt more at ease instantly. It’s little things like this that make it a joy to have him at your wedding. His great ideas and humor will allow you to laugh and enjoy your big day. I 10/10 would recommend choosing Mick as your DJ. His wife Julie was also our wedding planner and did a fantastic job. Having two of your wedding vendors married is a huge convenience and made the day run that more smoothly. They are truly the dynamic duo!

Look no further...

Mick is your DJ if you want your guests to have a great night! We were expecting everyone to come and go from the dance floor but the dancing was nonstop! Even our guests who were not physically able to get out there loved the music and stayed engaged. Mick is great at reading the room and mixes it up from a cliche wedding format to get everyone excited and is not one of the DJ's who likes to hear himself talk more than play music. Planning with Mick was super easy- we had a few songs that we liked but let him take the reins on what he thought would be best. He made the wedding planning a little less daunting and got us excited again after postponing our wedding a year (which he helped make as easy as it could be!)

Beautiful Safe/Intimate Wedding Ceremony (during pandemic)

Mick was really there for us during our crazy pandemic wedding plans! Things were so uncertain and changing constantly but we knew we could depend on Mick to be there for us while of course taking safety for everyone into consideration. Mick was so easy to work with and fun! Even though our October 2020 wedding turned into a small ceremony only with immediate family we were still able to have beautiful music to capture the moment including our first dance which was so special to us. Mick also provided great audio including a microphone so that our family and friends from across the United States could clearly hear our entire ceremony via our live stream! We could not have had such a beautiful wedding ceremony without him! He also put together some super fun mixes, you should hear them! My husband and I highly recommend Mick! Legendary DJ

Couldn't have picked a better DJ!!

Elite British DJ (Mick) was fantastic and we couldn't have been happier with hiring him for our wedding. He was recommended to us by a friend and we were sold on hiring Mick after just the first phone call with him. From start to finish, Mick was personable, professional, and so much fun.

On the planning side, neither my wife or I knew much about how a wedding should flow, but Mick's online planning tool basically gave us a step-by-step idea of what the evening would look like, on top of Mick guiding us through it. We basically went from zero to HERO and felt comfortable and confident in how the night would flow, when the dances would be, when we would cut the cake, etc.

We gave him our list of "must play" songs and he used those as a guide of what to play the rest of the evening. All of our guests loved the music and his services as MC were absolutely on-point.

Best dj around

Words can’t even begin to express how awesome mick is! He was so supportive during this whole covid rearrange. We’d call and say we can’t do this or this and he came right back with fun game suggestions and it was perfect! We finally got to have our dream wedding and Micks music selection was perfect he listened to what we wanted and didn’t want played. Everyone is still talking about how he kept the party going !

An Elite Experience with Mick!

Our first time chatting with Mick, we could tell right off the bat that he is passionate about what he does and has A LOT of experience in the industry. Not only does he give suggestions about the music and the DJ aspect of your wedding day, but he whole heartedly wants your wedding day to be an experience that you want as a couple. He gave us suggestions on what he has seen worked successfully at the weddings he’s worked at, but of course is not pushy about his suggestions and understands that each couple and wedding is different!

We used Mick’s online platform to select some songs that would play during the pre-ceremony. The online process was straightforward and easy to use! Unfortunately, since we had to modify our wedding day to a ceremony only, we only got to have Mick’s services for that portion. We are hoping to have a celebration at a later date when it is safe for larger gatherings and cannot wait to witness Mick’s energy and passion during a reception / party!

We went with Mick and Julie’s combo package for DJ and Day-of Coordinator and were very pleased with their team work and dynamic. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience working them and would not have it any other way. We only wished we could give them both a big thank you hug after our ceremony for being flexible and supportive through out our planning process!

Mick really is that good!

You know those DJs that seem to be magic? They just seem able to get everyone to dance and have a good time? That's Mick. He just made the whole evening gel, using the music to create an incredible atmosphere that kept folks mingling and dancing all night. The pre-wedding experience was brilliant to; Mick provided an easy to use website to upload our favorite songs and even a list for songs not to play (which turned out to be longer than we expected (hello ex-break-up songs!?). He has so much energy and enthusiasm for what he does, we truly felt like he was committed and excited to be part of our celebration. Thank you Mick.

He is a fantastic resource. My sweetheart (and now-wife!) found his advice and suggestions extremely valuable, his ability to respond to LIVE situations is impeccable, his organizational software is grade A, and he has vast experience of being a Wedding DJ - which is huge.

Our ceremony had top-notch professional sound and music, which was a big deal for us. And our reception was everything we dreamed for and more!

100% Positive Experience with Mick!

Mick was the best DJ we could’ve chosen for our wedding! He is so easy to work with and has fantastic fresh ideas to make the ceremony and reception one to remember! He has a very user-friendly web-based tool to outline your ceremony and reception music and he has thousands of songs to pick from. We had a couple songs that weren’t in his database, but he was able to download them right away for us. I also wanted specific parts of a particular song for when I walked down the aisle, and he worked with me to piece that together and it sounded so perfect!! He has great mash-ups too that kept everybody on the dance floor all night long! We heard great things from our guests about how great the music was! Mick does a nice job of reading the room to make sure everybody is enjoying the music playing. Mick is such a nice guy and we LOVED working with him! He has been in the wedding industry for a while now and has great insight and ideas to make your wedding so memorable!

Best DJ around

Hiring Mick and his wife Julie for our wedding was a no brainer. We actually had them picked out for our DJ & coordinator prior to booking our venue. After attending 4 weddings done by them we knew we had to have them for our wedding. They went above in meeting our expectations and made the day flow so smoothly, they also already knew half our guests which made it that much more fun. Hiring them as a team for you wedding would make your day that much better, you cannot go wrong with Mick & Julie!!

Would definitely recommend

Really enjoyed having Mick DJ at our wedding. In the lead up to the day communication was very prompt and even encouraged. His online tools were very useful for personal music preferences but when it came down to how not just the music but the evening as a whole would flow, Mick was excellent.

He even met us at the venue days in advance so we got a good chance to talk through the outdoor setup of not only his equipment, but the food and lighting too.

When the evening came, he did more than DJ, he made sure the evening went to the plan we had discussed previously, which was a great help.

It was a pleasure to deal with Mick, he is extremely enthusiastic about his work and also very professional, which is a great combination.

Mick is elite

MICK IS THE BEST. It is clear from the first meeting with him that he is an experienced professional who knows exactly what he is doing. He brings all of the fun without going too over the top. He was able to work with any and all requests we had, like cutting out bits of the Father Daughter Dance song, and he was absolutely amazing at keeping the energy up on the dance floor! He was incredibly kind and easy to work with, and was awesome at sharing some of his great ideas while still being totally on board with whatever direction we wanted to go. (He suggested a "cake money jar" that covered a couple of really fun excursions on our honeymoon- we definitely wouldn't have had those funds if it wasn't for Mick!) My husband and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Professional, kind, and fun. What more could you want from a DJ? :)

He's perfect!

Mick made our wedding day PERFECT! He helped me edit an mp3 and set things up so that I can sing as I walked down the aisle. He put together 4 snippets of songs that we liked and sent us the mp3 so that we could use it to choreograph and practice our first dance! He's super responsive and I so very much appreciate that!!!! Look No Further for Your DJ!

We used Mick as our DJ for our wedding, and we could not be happier with our selection! Mick was attentive, fun and creative, and was 100% professional. We planned our San Diego wedding from the east coast, and Mick was so helpful during the long-distance planning process. We spoke over the phone before we booked him for our wedding and he sent an easy-to-use online music form so that we could customize our playlist (including our must-plays, the music we wanted to play pre-ceremony, the song for cake-cutting, etc.). He had such a wide selection of music and was even able to find obscure songs for us, including a beautiful Celtic version of Cannon-in-D. We also purchased up-lighting through Mick and we were incredibly happy with how the up-lights transformed our ballroom. Before the wedding, Mick spent the time to go over our music selection, make recommendations, and nail down the final details.

So many of our guests complemented the music selection and everyone had so much fun. Thank you Mick for making our night fun and memorable :)

Perfect choice!

Mick is absolutely incredible! My husband and I were about to settle on another DJ because we were tired of looking, but we are so happy we didn't! Every time we spoke with him, it further cemented the fact that we made the right choice. Any DJ can pick a playlist and just let it run, but Mick is a full service MC! He was hilarious and engaging and had many unique tips and tricks to make the night extra special! The absolute topper to the whole vendor experience was the blog he posted the very next day! He took photos of the event and caught special moments that happened after the photographers and videographers left. My husband and I were so grateful for the entire experience and would pick Mick again in a heartbeat!

What a beautiful surprise!!

Mick made us very comfortable from the beginning offering many suggestions as to how to make our wedding reception most enjoyable. Our friends and family were on the dance floor from beginning to end. He put us at ease knowing that everything flowed smoothly. He played many of the songs that we selected in advance. He got everyone involved. His suggestion for our Grand Entrance truly got everyone into the spirit of our wedding. Mick was the perfect choice for a December Wedding

Wow, Mick was just as amazing as we had heard! My Daughter's December 2018 wedding was the event of the season. (I am not the bride, I am the mother of the bride)Mick had so many great ideas we had not even thought about or dreamed of. His shout song had everyone on their feet dancing from the start and the fun continued. He played the perfect songs and made great recommendations including the song choice for the precession and the first dance. Bloody brilliant disc jockey from across the pond.

My wife and I married in November of 2018 and Mick was all we could have asked for in a DJ. He came recommended by the great folks at the El Cortez. We met with Mick several times leading up to the wedding to hash out the right plan for our special day. What I personally loved about him - aside from his courteous, professional and fun personality - is that he took the time to listen to what my wife and I envisioned hearing at our wedding. Both my wife and I like a variety of music, from Pearl Jam and Metallica to Luis Miguel and Marc Antony and he was able to provide that to make our night unforgettable. Once you book Mick, if indeed you're able to for your event, you'll be happy you did but even happier once its all said and done because Mick will not disappoint.

Elite British DJ Review

Kara and I were married in October of 2018 in La Jolla and could not have hoped for a better reception experience, largely thanks to what Mick provided. If you’re reading this review then you’ve obviously found the right person and need look no further for your wedding DJ. My wife and I have had very strong ties to music throughout our relationship, and it was very important that the music played be to our tastes and incorporate the songs of special significance to us. We met with Mick several times before the wedding which gave him time to explain his approach to deejaying, and us time to express our intent for the musical experience. Throughout the entire process he was courteous, professional, and accommodating. During our first meeting he introduced us to an easy to use website that he utilizes to submit song requests for each specific moment of the ceremony or reception, as well as any miscellaneous requests for the cocktail hour, dinner, or dance floor. Later as we approached the wedding date, he again met with us to discuss the requests we had made and our thought to the event overall. We discussed in detail our timeline and when specific events should occur and to what music. From that point forward I had no concerns about the planned flow during the reception, which was executed perfectly. Song selections, transitions, mashups, genre and beat variation were on point for the entire evening. I received numerous compliments on the music from the beginning of the cocktail hour until weeks after the wedding, and once dancing begun, there was never a vacancy on the dance floor. Mick made an incredible day even better, and he did so in a low stress, fun and easy way. I couldn’t give him a higher recommendation.

Mick is your only choice for a DJ!

I had asked my FB friends to recommend a DJ for my wedding and got several responses. Elite British DJ (Mick) was the only one I gravitated toward the most when reading all the different websites my friends sent me to. I got some initial pieces of info from Mick via email (quick response!) and we booked a meeting at his house. He was truly so pleasant to meet with and you can just tell he'd make any wedding so much fun! He's great at what he does and I'm sure he's done so so many weddings, but he does really make you feel special on your wedding day! He had some great and unique ideas when it comes to music and even had a CD that you can listen to about some of his suggestions, music choices and just ways he can enhance your wedding. (I don't want to give all his secrets away so you'll just have to book him!) My now husband and I loved him and booked him as our DJ and his wife as our wedding planner. Mick did the music for our ceremony as well as our reception and boy was he a hit. We've gotten so many compliments about our wedding and Mick was definitely a hit amongst all our friends. I cannot recommend him enough to anyone. He was a great MC also! I've been to numerous weddings and I'm not biased because it's my wedding...I'm just so thankful we found Mick who helped make our wedding so wonderful and memorable. He even sent a fun video collage of pictures he took throughout the day to us within the next few days too! So....No need to look any further, you are in GREAT hands when it comes to Mick/Elite British DJ!!

Mick was so amazing! I 100% recommend hiring him. My husband and I are very picky, and we were worried we'd end up hiring a cheesy DJ that did all the basic old fashioned wedding stuff (Electric Slide, Cupid Shuffle, blah blah). But after our first meeting with him, we were so wowed right away, and it made us even more excited about our upcoming wedding -- because let's be honest, having a good DJ is key to having a successful/fun wedding!

Mick was so incredibly helpful in advance of the wedding -- he gave us advice on our timeline, what types of songs work best, and he just had so many fun ideas in general. For example, the pre-dinner "Shout" dance where you get every guest on the dance floor. We were a little skeptical about this, but it was SO FUN and he was so right -- it's the only time of the night that you will have literally every person on the dance floor, so you get some great pics. And it's just a unique thing that never happens at most weddings, so people totally ate it up.

This guy definitely knows what he is doing. He has obviously been doing this long enough to know his stuff, which is so helpful when planning a wedding. It's a stressful time, and he eased some of that stress by providing us with so much advice and insight. AND after the wedding was over, he sent us the most awesome slideshow of pics he took during the reception. Just so thoughtful from start to finish. We definitely made the right decision by hiring him!

If you're looking for a DJ in the San Diego area, look no further. We used Mick (and his wife Julie, a coordinator) for our wedding at Scripps Seaside forum. Mick did an outstanding job with the preparation of our songs and had several fun ideas to incorporate into our night. He was very organized and responsive to emails and texts. Everyone had such a fun time at our wedding and we got many compliments from guests about Mick's fun personality! The day after the wedding, we also received dozens of pictures he took throughout the night and also a slide show. We were not expecting this at all and it was so nice of him to do this for us as we await pictures from our photographer. I recommend Mick very highly!

Hello, my name is Travis and my new wife Megan and I would like to thank Mick for all the things he did to make our special day so memorable. Let me begin by saying I am a HUGE music fan (Megan not as much) and a bit of a control "enthusiast", so hiring the right DJ for our wedding was important to me. Within 5 minuets of meeting Mick all my worry and doubt had subsided and I was able to put complete trust in his knowledge, passion and experience. What stood out for me was his "read the crowd" approach to selecting what music to play for our wedding reception. Being able to "let go" of the details and trust in him to play the right song at the right time was so awesome, I was able to enjoy the night and not wonder what song was next. Another great moment came spontaneously when one of Megan's family members requested that Mick play the "12 Days of Christmas" song. Playing and dancing to this song is a tradition at weddings for Megan's side of the family, and while it may seem odd to some people, Mick pulled it off flawlessly. Thank You, Mick! Planning a wedding reception can be overwhelming, but it just got a lot easier. Here’s why: you can now stop looking for a DJ. You’ve just found the greatest DJ in San Diego / SoCal: Elite British DJ.

Mick Scrivener of Elite British DJ exceeded ALL our expectations as our reception DJ. He was prompt, responsive, and had a great personality. Everyone loved him because not only is he a pro, but he’s funny on the mic!

Mick is incredibly helpful in the planning process. One of the best things about Mick is his innovative ideas (EX: he recommended having the first dance after the grand entrance, followed by all the guests doing “shout” on the dance floor – one of the biggest hits of the night). He’ll also help you make so many of those pesky decisions easier (ex: like should you have a photo booth, should you have sparklers at a grand exit, etc.). He met with us in person prior to the reception to go through our many questions. He was on-time, professional, knowledgeable, and did a lot to set our minds at ease. We walked out of that meeting feeling much better about all of the details and confident that Mick would take care of everything. He was responsive to our emails and his online portal is great to put in our song requests in terms of importance to us.

Finally -- and perhaps most importantly – Mick killed it when he was DJ'ing during the reception. Nobody wants one of those DJ's that just plays one song after another with no mixing or beat-matching. Mick was as far from that as possible. He mixed songs together (with some unique combinations that I still remember now) and kept the party going. I even saw my dad doing a handstand on the dancefloor – he doesn’t even dance! He had everyone on their feet anticipating what was coming next. He made our day phenomenal and we could not have asked for a better person for our reception!

So cross of finding a DJ from your list – Mick is the best. You’ll be lucky if you can get him for your event!

Mick was amazing!! Not only was he was our DJ he was also our emcee. He is very passionate on what he does and has a lot of great recommendations for different types of music during the timeline of your wedding. He is also a great listener and played the songs we wanted. He can even customize certain songs for your ceremony. Our wedding was a few months ago and some of our guests are still raving about the music. After the wedding, he writes about your day on his blog along with a video of photos with your first dance song playing in the background. I LOVED our playlist that he put together and sent us a list of songs that were played. He provided uplights in our reception room and it made a huge difference in the mood lighting. We also had his wife, Julie, as our wedding planner. These duo are the simply the best! Don't look no further and sign on with Mick!

Our photographer recommended Mick to us and we are so thankful we took her advice- Mick is an amazing DJ who clearly knows his business. He got every single person at our wedding reception (and we're talking almost 180 people) out on the dance floor immediately after the grand entrance, which set the stage for a phenomenal party! Not only is he professional, timely, and an excellent communicator, but he also has wonderful suggestions and advice he can offer to make the reception exactly as you want it (and he does not get offended if you decide not to take his advice). Mick is amazing and took great care of both me and my husband. We came across Mick at my cousin Parker's wedding and immediately knew he was a great fit for our event as well. Best DJ Ever! Mick walked us through the whole process of the wedding. He gave us great ideas, and he KNOWS how to please the crowd.

We met with him 2 months before the wedding, then one week before the wedding, and he was very responsive and personable.

He gave us some really cool ideas to make our wedding unique and entertaining. If we wasn't for Mick, our wedding would have been just another boring wedding ceremony, BUT, Mick knows how to run the show!

Don't waste your money on a "part time" DJ! Pay up - your guests will thank you for it!

The best DJ!! My fiancé and I lived in different states, and Mick Skyped us, so we could discuss things all together! Mick offered a lot of great ideas - most of which we used! He is awesome, highly recommended!

Mick was the DJ for our wedding on 06/10/2017 and he did not disappoint, nor did his reviews. Mick was able to keep the crowd lively and did a great job using our suggested songs along with those he knew were good for the moment. He also has a great sense of humor that is very appreciated. I had many people ask me who the DJ was and for his info...not a single person had any negative comment --- which if you've been to a lot of weddings --- you know how rare that really is. Thanks Mick!

I cannot begin to recommend Mick highly enough. Our wedding was a big one, with 250 friends and family members from every corner of the country and every walk of life, and from the moment that the music started playing, EVERYONE was on the dance floor! Mick's help started long before the dancing began...in the months leading up to the event, he gave us great recommendations for music selections and general logistical decisions. On the evening fo the wedding, he made the room look beautiful with the addition of uplighting, and helped facilitate a seamless transition from one part of the evening to the next. His crowning accomplishment was a set list that had everyone on their feet all night! Mick is your man if you want a DJ who can really read a crowd.

Mick is AMAZING! I was referred to him by a family friend who had him at their wedding. I actually had both Mick and his wife Julie (she is a wedding planner) for my wedding. Luckily I snatched them up before they got booked as i know they are in high demand.
I have been to many weddings and Mick is honestly the best in his field. He knows what music will keep people dancing all night and that is what i wanted at my wedding. He went above and beyond to make the night memorable and fun. He also makes himself available for any changes up until the last minute. The night before the wedding I emailed him a song i wanted to make sure was played during dinner and he responded right away and made sure the song was played.
The day after the wedding Mick sent me a video of our wedding reception with pictures him and Julie had taken and had our first dance song as the background music. He also sent a list of all the songs played at our wedding. That was such a special treat and something I did not expect.
Mick is worth every penny and if you are able to book him for your wedding you are in for a treat!

Mick went above and being to create a perfect wedding for us. His attention to detail, thought into every song, and help with lighting and the overall event flow, helped make this a wedding that our guests uniformly called the best they'd ever been to.

From the moment we met Mick he got us excited and pumped and had many great ideas on how to get our guests active and dancing all night long. Come the wedding day everything went perfect from the cocktail hour music to the music ending the night everyone told us how much they loved the music and were dancing all night long. Highly recommend Mick, and the bonus was the special video he sent us with highlights from our wedding right before our honeymoon.

Mick is a total professional which was the primary reason we decided to go with him, and we are so happy we did! We had been to a wedding with him a couple of years ago and had a great time, so he definitely came to mind when looking at all of our options. He has tremendous experience and even offered his input and advice in other areas of the planning and timing things throughout the evening. We had SO many compliments from our guests on the energy and music at our event. People absolutely loved our grand entrance and Mick was the mastermind behind how we kicked off the reception. It totally set the tone for a fun and lively reception. He offers his opinions based on his experience and what he has seen work or not work musically at events over the years and he is also very accommodating of your song preferences. For us, one of the most important aspects of hiring vendors was finding people that we knew we would not have to worry about or babysit. Because Mick is so organized and experienced, we knew that was one part of the wedding planning that was off our plates as soon as we hired him. He infused a wonderful energy into our event and we are happy to recommend him to anyone that is looking to throw a really fun party!

So we learned about Mick through a friend referral. We had our initial meeting with him and knew on the spot that we wanted to hire him. He knew exactly what songs to play to make our guests dance and we completely relied on his song choices other than the important first dance, etc. Our wedding guests are still talking about how amazing he was as a DJ. He was fun, entertaining and our dance floor was full so we were happy. Not to mention that we had the most amazing time at our wedding and we wouldn't do anything differently. Absolutely recommend hiring Mick as your DJ, he is the best.

Mick was fantastic! He made some great suggestions for ways to make our event unique. He is straight forward and honest, will give you his opinion but will also listen first and foremost to what your preferences are. We really appreciated his guidance and ideas. Mick was the first vendor we picked after we got engaged...we firmly believe that good vibes are essential on the dance floor!

Elite British DJ came highly recommended and with good reason. Mick was very professional and took all our requests into account using his online platform. As we had a solid English attendance at our wedding, he made sure our guests from "across the pond" had some tunes to boogey to, and let's just say, the Americans were more than happy to participate.

Mick also gave us great feedback on our wedding timeline while remaining flexible and personable throughout the whole process. If he is available on your wedding day, count your lucky stars and book him. The man knows what he's doing!

My husband and I hired Elite British DJ for just the reception portion of our wedding day. From the get go, it was clear that Mick knew exactly what did and didn't work at weddings, and what to play to ensure everyone had a good time. On the wedding day, Mick read the crowd and played songs that got everyone up and dancing, and had me cracking up with laughter during dinner. He took requests from the guests, but filtered out those he knew would kill the mood. My husband and I were having so much fun that we didn't want the party to stop! I keep hearing from my guests that it was one of the best weddings they've ever been to, and I know that is in large part due to Mick Scrivener of Elite British DJ.

If you need a DJ, stop looking at yelp for other reviews or other DJ’s and just call Elite British DJ. Mick surpassed all our expectations when he helped us plan the music for our wedding and then made the actual night fun and spectacular. Everything was perfectly timed, the music sounded great, the setup was well-organized, and everyone had a wonderful time dancing. The last thing you want at a wedding is an awkward DJ trying to coax people out onto the dance floor and his efforts falling flat. Mick has flair and a great way of interacting with the crowd, the bride and groom, and the wedding party to make the night so much fun.
He works with an online form for you to fill on the music for each event at your wedding (processional song, first dance song, last song of the night etc), and then has a place for you to fill in some must play songs, would like to play songs, and do not play songs. Mick was very easy going about helping us choose songs. He would explain why certain songs would work well and certain songs were less successful, but ultimately we always felt that the decision was ours with no pushing from him. We gave him a lot of freedom with our music and he delivered an amazing playlist that we thoroughly enjoyed. We had so many people dancing through the night, and since it was a wedding with people aged from 12-82, we thought that was pretty impressive!
He’s responsive, professional, actually British, and has a great sense of humor. He had a short vacation but was still available for any questions and always got back really quickly to us. He also had some really good ideas about unique things to try, or good timing for music that got us some great photos and a lot of excitement from our guests. We’ve heard a lot of people say that the DJ can make or break your wedding. If this is the case, then Mick made it for us. His work is truly excellent on all fronts.

We recently had Mick DJ our wedding. We were behind on many things leading up to our wedding and Mick made the experience working with him simple and easy. He let us make all our decisions, but did give us a great deal of welcomed advice from his experience from doing this so many, many times. Thankfully in each instance, his advice was really the way to go, keep the flow, add to the excitement of the entire day/night. He made some on the fly suggestions based on how the flow of the evening was going and they were spot on. He really played with how the crowd reacted to everything to make sure our guests had a great time. I was told by many people that this was the most fun they have ever had at a wedding. The Elite British DJ will make your wedding (or party)!!! My husband and I had a Comic-Con themed wedding last year. We met Mick (and his wife, Julie (The Best Wedding For You)) at a catering event on the military base. After meeting them, my husband remembered he was the DJ for his friend's wedding a few years ago. We explained that our wedding will be on Halloween and he was already excited. We met with him twice before the wedding to discuss music selection. Mick has an incredible site with music lists you can choose from as well as adding your own to your profile. On our last meeting with him before the wedding, he would point out what music would and would not work for the guests. He was so right!!! He kept everyone on the dance floor ALL night long! That night was also his 1,000 wedding! What a way to celebrate! He helped us with the ceremony and the reception music selection. WOW. Just wow. If you are looking for a wedding DJ, your search should end here. Mick made our wedding day spectacular and seamless. He ran the timeline perfectly and allowed us to sit back and enjoy the time with our family and friends. Everyone raved about him and the music, and everyone had a fantastic time! I am so happy that we went with all of his unique suggestions, especially playing Shout! right after the first dance. That was my favorite moment of the entire day. He even took a video of this moment and several pictures throughout the day and made us a beautiful slide show which he promptly sent us the next day after our wedding! Mick truly went above and beyond and we are so grateful.

Mick was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. He was very responsive throughout all of the planning phases and very helpful. We unfortunately had thunderstorms start about an hour before the ceremony, but fortunately we had Mick on our side. He helped transform a plain white tent into an amazing place to have a ceremony and all the guests loved it. The music was great and he had the entire wedding party dancing all night. Lastly, not only were his lights and music perfect, but he kept checking in with us to make sure we were ok and we implemented all his suggestions which were awesome. That rain could've really bummed us out but having him there to assure us that everything was going to be ok meant the world to us.

Right from the first meeting, we could tell he was experienced and professional... by his presentation, his website, his tips. He also loved to talk about music, so we could tell he was passionate about what he does. He was the right amount of listening to our ideas and giving his own recommendations. His predictions of how people would react to certain songs were spot on (so LISTEN TO HIM!). He is super organized; I loved his online system where you can you log in and organize your song requests, including prioritizing them from "must play" and "do not play." He also requested a final meeting with us closer to our wedding date to review all our song choices and discuss them, but still leaving us the flexibility of making any last minute choices in the days leading up to the wedding.

At the wedding, he did not surprise us with anything that he said he would or wouldn't do previously. However he did pleasantly surprise us with a slideshow with a recording of my friends singing a personalized song about us at the reception. When he made announcements, he was well rehearsed, not overly verbose, funny at times, and looked for ways to keep the feel personalized. There were no technical issues (that we knew of); everything worked smoothly and the sound quality was great. We had a ton of guests coming up to us asking how we found him.

If we were to do it all over again, we would still choose him! (and his wife as coordinator, but that's for a separate review)

He had great recommendations for our playlists, and got our guests movin’ and groovin’ when he kicked off our wedding with a crowd favorite. Mick was on point throughout the night and the wedding flowed perfectly. He has a fun, personable and charming personality, which complimented our style. His wife Julie was the coordinator for our wedding and the two worked SO WELL together. We’re still receiving compliments from our friends and family about how wonderful our wedding coordinator and DJ were. Chris and I were so lucky to have met him and his wife at one of the Bridal Shows in Del Mar.

WOW, just WOW! We had so many positive comments about our wedding and how fun it was. I believe Mick had a lot to do with that. Mick was everything we were looking for in a DJ. He was proactive, easy to talk to and plan with, and had tons of great ideas. He helped me with the music for our flash mob and brought some beautiful up-lights and dance lighting. My husband didn't like a few DJs for sounding too much like "game show hosts." Mick is a natural professional and has a nice smooth speaking voice that never sounded cheesy. Our guests went to a few weddings over the summer and kept commenting how they danced the most at ours. They loved the DJ and had a great time. Book him! :)

My husband and I would highly recommend Mick (Elite British DJ)! We used his services for both our ceremony music and our reception and he delivered far beyond our expectations. He is so well organized and made so many helpful suggestions that really added something special to our wedding. All of our guests were so impressed and took note of how great he was and let us know we made an excellent choice working with him. He takes the time to talk in depth to each couple beforehand and go through all the important musical moments in a wedding (for us this included the ceremony music, the grand entrance, special dances, general reception music and more) and my husband and I both walked away from that conversation with him saying, "Wow! Our wedding is going to be awesome! I'm so excited! Our guests are going to be dancing the whole time." and that's definitely how we felt after the wedding too. From the beginning, my fiancé and I recognized that music is a key part to make a wedding successful and we were determined to have THE most memorable wedding for our family and friends. We stopped looking for a DJ after we met Mick. From our first contact, Mick's prowess in the field was evident. I agree with all of the praises sung by other reviews. There is a fine line between interrupting an event and helping it flow smoothly. Mick can dance down the line and do flips on the way back. After the wedding, many guests told me how impressed they were with Mick. Well worth the price, and certainly worth the cheeky humor. I will be using Mick again next time I am in need of a DJ.

Mick was awesome to work with as our wedding DJ in May 2015 at Scripps Seaside Forum. He played all the songs we wanted him to, and did a great job reading the crowd as well. Before dinner he came up to us and asked if he could play more oldies as he’d noticed the guests were into that during cocktail hour (which was fine with us but we didn’t really care either way) and when he started the oldies set our guests, both young and old, went nuts. Everyone, from our college friends to grandparents, kept complimenting us on the music, and the dance floor was full almost the whole night. There was a great mix of oldies, new music, and random other songs that we had specifically requested and were meaningful to us. The only (really, the only!) thing I would have changed was that he put some of the less-popular-to-dance-to songs back to back, and I might have preferred to mix it up. Mick does have a strong personality but definitely knows what he is talking about when it comes to music and ensuring that you and all your wedding guests will have an amazing time. And the next day he already had a slide show up on the website so we could re-live it all again!

Mick came highly recommended to us by our chair cover and photobooth vendor. We asked him who thought was a good deejay since we frequents weddings often due to his job. He recommended Mick and said he wishes he choose Mick for his own wedding! So we called Mick and upon our first meeting I just knew he was the best person for the job. He was extremely knowledgable about music, what gets a crowd going and how to make the wedding fun! From the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, his ideas for music sets were perfect! I love music and I was pleased he knew everything from top 49, old school hip hop, r&b to my fiancée choices of country and swing! Our wedding was 3 weeks ago but everyone is still buzzing about how perfect and fun the wedding was. I really believe without his help, we wouldn't have had the fun and memorable wedding we ended up having :)
