We cannot recommend East Coast Soul Verve Ensemble enough. Not only was the East Coast Soul team professional and easy to work with, but the actual wedding night was where they truly blew us away.
Our number one priority was getting people on the dance floor and keeping them there, and they exceeded every expectation. The energy they brought was electric! They kept the momentum going all night long!
We’ve lost count of how many guests have told us they were the best wedding band they’ve ever heard. If you want a band that is talented, high-energy, and knows how to read a room, look no further. Truly an exceptional experience!

East Coast Soul (The Stax) absolutely CRUSHED it on the stage on 12/12 and they were the highlight of our wedding night. We had so many people come up to us after the wedding to tell us how awesome the band was and how much fun they had dancing and singing their hearts out.
I also wanted to call out the uplighting ECS provided and how fantastic it looked in the ballroom. East Coast Soul absolutely nailed it, the uplighting changed colors throughout the night and put out the best vibe for our reception. I would 100% recommend this group for any big event. They brought the energy and fun.

ECS's Atlantic ensemble performed at our wedding last night, and I want to write this review while it is still fresh because they were amazing! We heard so many unprompted compliments throughout the night about how fun the band was, with special callouts to the horn section and Carrie on vocals. It seemed that they were having a great time themselves as well and really cared about making it a great party for everybody. They also let us join them for a song on our instruments, which is a memory my spouse and I will have for a lifetime.
Art and Sean were easy to deal with when coordinating our event, with a clear and standardized process to keep organized. They made very clear when we could expect certain information and when we needed to make decisions with them. I'd also credit their approach to building a setlist, as the band had an incredible pulse on what songs would keep the room high-energy.
Overall I can't say enough about the Atlantic ensemble. They made our party special. Anyone who loves live music would do well to book Atlantic. -

We cannot recommend East Coast Soul (Philly International group) enough! They played our ceremony, cocktail hour, and tented reception at our June wedding at the Equinox Resort in Manchester, VT, and they kept the energy flowing seamlessly from one moment to the next. Communication leading up to the weekend was excellent, and the band went above and beyond by learning a few special songs for us—including a cultural line dance—which they played beautifully.
Our guests were on the dance floor all night and are still raving about how incredible the band was. What impressed us most was how they struck the perfect balance: the music felt like a full, professional set, yet it never overshadowed the wedding itself. The focus stayed on the dance floor and the celebration, not just the stage. The sound mixing was also spot-on: lively and energetic without being overpowering, so people could still enjoy conversation when they stepped away from the dancing.
East Coast Soul absolutely made our wedding unforgettable. If you’re considering them, especially the Philly International group, don’t hesitate, they’re phenomenal. -

From the moment the music started, the energy was amazing - every song was perfectly timed, from the first dance to the last, and the vibe couldn’t have been better. We had the Stax ensemble perform as a seven piece at our wedding and they blew our minds. They were so energetic, so talented, so committed to their performance. The sax player and guitar player were blistering everyone faces off. The singers were duck walking and voguing like seasoned ballroom dancers in NYC. the drummer was making us all cry with impassioned promises of ally ship for marriage equality. I danced the entire time they played and was so happy at the end of the night. I highly recommend bringing this band to your wedding. You will NOT regret it. Incredible musicians and lovely human beings.

We had East Coast Soul (The Daptones) play our wedding this June at The Grafton Inn. They did an amazing job! They played the song we requested for the ceremony beautifully, a three piece ensemble for cocktail hour, and kept the dance floor full at our reception. Memorably they also had a saxophone player lead us back to the Inn like a New Orleans second line. It was one of the best moments of our wedding and the energy and feeling is something we will always remember!
Our guests raved about the band (especially the singers) and overall East Coast Soul made our wedding outstanding! Can't recommend them more!! -

East Coast Soul, specifically Atlantic, was the first and best choice we made for our wedding. When asked, we had said that we wanted our wedding to feel like one big dance party the whole time. They delivered. Multiple reports of ECS being the best wedding band people had ever seen. Dance floor was filled the entire time. They also know how to operate wedding flow, taking their breaks at appropriate times and whatnot. We have also seen the Stax ensemble play at another wedding and they were also fantastic. You will not regret booking East Coast Soul for your event. -

We had the Atlantic Ensemble from East Coast Soul for our wedding and they BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN! They were truly phenomenal. We hired the Stax ensemble based on a wedding that we attended a few years ago. NO ONE could get off the dance floor. East Coast Soul brought energy, expertise, and FUN to our event. I've had so many people tell me it was the best wedding band they ever saw. East Coast Soul puts on a show, rather than just plays music - they are entertaining to watch and also amazing to listen to. We had the King Ensemble for our wedding and they were absolutely amazing!! Right from the beginning Sean and Art were great communicators and helped us create the vision for our music that felt right for us. During the day itself Marcus was an incredible band leader and helped guide us through the day while reading the energy of the room. Prior to our wedding the band coordinated with my sister (who had the band at her wedding two years prior) and my sister-in-law to surprise us with a song my sister-in-law sang for us at our wedding. It was one of the most meaningful moments of the evening!
All of the band members were absolutely incredible and none of the guests wanted to get off of the dance floor (including us)! We are still getting feedback about how amazing they were and many of our friends and family want us to do a redo of the day just so they can hear the band again :)! If you are thinking of booking this band do not hesitate!! -

Nothing short of amazing - and that’s not hyperbole! We booked Soulsville for our wedding on an island in Casco Bay, Maine, and could not be more thankful that they made the trip up North. Our only point of reference for ECS was from their video collection online and reviews here - which gave us confidence to know we had found something special for the many guests far and wide. From a logistics and planning perspective - Art & Sean walk you through every step and help you make decisions and craft a vision that you maybe dindn’t know you had! An island wedding posed challenges - and they sought solutions and closed gaps without us having to do the heavy lifting - Thank you! And from a guest perspective… Having Chris play the guitar during the ceremony and allow my brother & sister to play a memorial piece to our dad - Thank you! And I will forever remember how smiles and eyes were laser focused to the sweet sounds of the trio during our cocktail hour, or how everyone was dancing before dinner to the whole band because they were SO GOOD. Post dinner, all I kept hearing was “Where did you find this band?” “It’s like you’re at a concert!” “Where can I book them?” We’re already planning a 5-year anniversary… of the band! Soulsville crushed it - thank you for treating a group of Montanans and Mainers to an unforgettable night.

A K Sent on 10/08/2023SO MUCH FUN - a packed dance floor and incredible energy with Stax!
We had East Coast Soul (the Stax Ensemble) at our cocktail hour and reception last Saturday, and they were hands down the BEST band I've ever seen (heard) play at a wedding.
*Am I biased? Well yea, but our guests were raving about the music and captioning their photos from the night with "best band ever!" One woman went back to the inn next door to drag her husband out of bed (he's not a dancer and had turned in early) because "he's a musician and won't want to miss this"...sure enough, he stayed and listened from the balcony! Another not-yet-engaged couple was joking they would hire ECS for their own wedding.
*Besides the impressive musicianship, the band brought it with incredible energy and showmanship. And they were simply a pleasure to work with. I feel like we hit it off with Sean (the drummer), from the moment my partner disclosed that he was sick of "Uptown Funk"...and it turns out that Sean and I are both reformed metalheads ;) Sorry if that's not appropriate for a wedding review, but I think it just speaks to the range and talent of these guys! As a type A planner, I also knew we were in good hands once I saw that lengthy questionnaire haha.
*Stax did an incredible job of reading the room and mixing up well-known hits (and "must plays") with a few less familiar tunes...or at least, songs that aren't so painfully over-played at weddings.
*They also humored us amateurs and welcomed me and my dad to join them for a couple songs! I can only imagine how stress-inducing that is for professional musicians to perform with a couple randos, given absolutely no chance to rehearse.
*In summary, it was lit. At first I worried that a smaller crowd (we had ~80 guests by that point) would result in a sad, empty dance floor. But our guests were smiling and sweating, hooting and hollering for three hours straight, until we hit our curfew with the very last note. I can't wait to share pics from that part of the night.

It's been two months since our wedding, and our guests are STILL raving about East Coast Soul's Atlantic Ensemble! It can be hard to get people to agree on anything these days, but our guests uniformly told us the band was the highlight of our wedding! From the very beginning, we loved working with Sean and Art. They were always responsive to our questions and excited to bring our ideas to life. Their questionnaire provides an excellent roadmap for thinking through all of the important musical moments in a wedding day, making planning with them a breeze. As a result, Atlantic performed the perfect set to keep us and our guests dancing all night. They also made our ceremony special and our cocktail hour a classy, jazzy affair. Run, don't walk, to book them! -

Guests will not stop talking about them!
We first met East Coast Soul at my cousin's wedding in Maine and knew we had to have them for our Newport wedding! There are no words to describe how amazing ECS performed at our wedding. They were beyond professional, organized and went above and beyond to make our day special -- even learning two songs for our big day. We hired the Stax Ensemble-- shout out to Giang and Sophia. They were entertaining, charismatic, extremely talented and had everyone (including my 97 year old grandmother) on the dance floor all night. Guests won't stop talking about them. 100% would book East Coast Soul the King Ensemble over and over again!! They were INCREDIBLE for our wedding at the State Room. The sound was perfect for our vibe, they played the perfect set of songs to fit each part of the night, and (most importantly) they kept the entire wedding on the dance floor the whole night! We can't thank them enough for being such an important part of our wedding!
The band was also incredibly easy to work with - the FAQs on their web page lay out all of the necessary details/info clearly, the management team was quickly responsive and helped us figure out exactly what we needed for the perfect party, and the whole team was so professional.
Cannot recommend this band enough!! Seriously - you will be so thrilled you chose them. -

SO GOOD! 10 out of 10 would recommend. I heard East Coast Soul play at a wedding I attended a few years ago and knew if I ever got married, I absolutely needed them at our reception. They did not disappoint! Our dance floor was full all night and the music selection appealed to all ages -- from the youngest in attendance who was 16 to some of my older Aunts who had the time of their lives. I also have to say they made the planning process so easy by sending a very thorough FAQ doc our way months in advance and having us fill out a comprehensive form with all of our preferences, thoughts, etc. It was so helpful when mapping out our timeline for the night and figuring out what kind of vibe we really wanted! -

We had East Coast Soul at our wedding in September and it was absolutely EPIC. We had acoustic guitar for the ceremony, two-piece band for cocktail hour and 7 piece for the reception. We had our wedding a week ago, and I can hands down say that the Stax ensemble was one of the most memorable parts of our wedding day! A number of friends and family came up to my husband and I and said that ECS/Stax was the BEST wedding band they have ever seen. Our guests even requested an encore :) They kept the energy high and the dance floor full the entire night. The 3 vocalists are extremely talented and will leave you impressed, and they can dance!!! From a professionalism standpoint, Sean and Art were extremely communicative and accommodating to our day-of changes. Their prep forms were simple, easy to fill out, and manage. Overall, I cannot recommend ECS enough. -

East Coast Soul was incredible!! We had the 8-piece King Ensemble at our wedding and they kept all of our guests dancing all night! We cannot say enough about this East Coast Soul! We hired the King ensemble for our small, coastal Maine wedding and they TORE. IT. UP. They kept people on the dance floor all night and ended the evening with some truly epic sing-alongs. We keep getting rave reviews from our guests - "This isn't a regular wedding band - they're incredible," "This feels like going to a concert" and "I'd pay to see this band perform again" many, many times. Even the staff at the venue said they were the best wedding band they've ever seen. Not only were they amazing musicians and performers, they were also total professionals throughout the whole process. From our first meeting with Sean to the final breakdown at the end of the evening, the band was super responsive, easy to work with, and extremely flexible. They seamlessly transitioned from a jazz duo for cocktail hour to an instrumental group for dinner to a full funk/pop powerhouse for the dance party. They can honestly do it all. Do not hesitate - book this band!! -

East Coast Soul - Stax was absolutely amazing! We hired them for our wedding and they put on the most unbelievable performance--you almost felt like you were at a concert. The music choices were fantastic, the dancing by Astha, Giang and Daniel were incredible and the musicians were just remarkable. When most people talk about our wedding it is about the band--"best band they had ever seen." No one wanted to stop dancing at the end of the night! Art, was so easy to work with and extremely responsive to all of our emails. He understood what type of music we were looking for and the type of atmosphere and he nailed it! East Coast Soul truly made our wedding. The universal compliment from our guests was the music. We are beyond grateful to the entire team for making the planning process so efficient and the day itself so special. There were family members I wholly anticipated to sit down the entire night on the dance floor, smiling, laughing, and making a party train. What talent and energy ECS brought! I would highly recommend them to anyone! (P.S. I later heard that the pianist was covering his keyboard with his jacket so that we could move forward with our outdoor ceremony despite a scattered shower. East Coast Soul was fantastic! Aside from our venue. the band was the first vendor we booked. We loved the reviews and videos we saw. and got in touch early on. The team is very interested in matching couples with the band that would be the best fit, and we knew this would be Soulsville. We wanted our music to be a highlight and we knew we wanted a combo of motown/soul/minimal top 40s. And they delivered!
Soulsville did an outstanding job bringing our party to life. People can't stop talking about how great they were! The dance floor was packed the whole night, which is exactly how we pictured our wedding. They performed a stellar Hora for our Jewish wedding and performed all of our first dance songs beautifully. The most exciting thing, though. was the Hey Jude/Shout mashup - we didn't want it to end!
We are so grateful to the band for making our party so memorable. We highly recommend them! And as someone who did a LOT of research and who has been to a LOT of weddings, I feel that the value of this band is unmatched. Stop your search now! -

They ARE the Wedding !!! We saw them at a friends wedding and immediately knew we had to have them at ours . Especially the Stax Ensemble staring Giang Luc. He is electrifying !!! People were literally blown away by this band and we have already booked them for an office Xmas party . The team was organized in booking and capturing our style of music and very helpful with playlist for background music when the live band wasn’t playing . Literally the best wedding band ever. -

We had the stax ensemble and they were AMAZING! Everyone loved them and they entertained the crowd with their dance moves too. I may be biased but they were the best wedding band I’ve ever seen! -

East Coast Soul is hands down the best wedding band out there. Their vibe, energy, professionalism and most of all, performance were outstanding! From the moment we chose to work with them, everything ran smoothly. It was a very straightforward process and they worked with us on everything from the ceremony through the reception. We had a string quartet at our ceremony and it really made all the difference. It was beautiful. We had a few of the band members play at the cocktail hour and the vibe was perfect. I can't say enough about the Stax Ensemble at the reception. From the moment they started playing through the end of the night, the dance floor was packed. Their song choices and performance were absolutely amazing and the night was everything we could have imagined and more. Months after the wedding we are still getting compliments on the band and have people telling us they were the best wedding band ever. Highly recommend this fabulous group. We had East Coast Soul-Atlantic play at our wedding in September. They were so easy to work with and made planning the musical portion of the evening super easy. We loved that they also played for the ceremony and during the cocktail hour! The reception was so much fun because the band picked amazing songs to play and kept everyone out on the dance floor!! Plus, they were the most reasonably priced band we looked at! Thanks for helping make our wedding so memorable! -

My husband and I saw East Coast Soul at a wedding one week after we got engaged. We did not have a venue or date yet, but we knew we HAD to have East Coast Soul at our wedding. We immediately reached out to them and they worked with us each step of the way. They were not only helpful and responsive, but they took each of our crazy requests and made our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception music absolutely perfect. I cannot say enough good things about this group. We had every single person up out of their seats on the dance floor the entire night. They aren't just there to provide music, they are there to perform and get the party going. You will not be disappointed at all if you choose this group!! -

You do not need to search any further - you should hire East Coast Soul for your wedding! They are INCREDIBLE. We used the Stax ensemble and so many guests made a point of letting us know after the wedding how impressed they were by the sound and physical energy the band brought to the stage. The band played for several hours straight without breaks and kept the dance floor energy up - and we had a blast the entire time. Everyone from our little cousins to our grandparents were on the dance floor absolutely loving the music. And Sean was an excellent emcee the whole night which made the intros, cocktail music, and speeches run perfectly. Not to mention the band was very easy to work with and accommodated all of our requests - including having family members play with them and asking them to learn new songs for our dances. Guests haven't stopped asking for more information on this band for family / friends weddings because they are truly the best band you can hire for your wedding. Don't wait to reach out or they'll be booked for your big day! -

East Coast Soul was, without a doubt, the most incredible wedding band we ever could have asked for. We booked them sight unseen after seeing a different ensemble from the band play at another wedding several years ago, and never thought twice about booking a new ensemble without seeing them prior. We had 7 pieces and it was absolutely perfect. They have a very involved form that clients fill out to create the best night possible with the clients' visions prioritized from the beginning. This form and the details are not set in stone, though, so you are free to edit and amend throughout the planning process as your vision changes: this is ideal because not all major music decisions are easy to make from the beginning. The details are not so much that they are overwhelming, though. It is just enough to feel like you as the client have control over the event and the flow, while also giving ECS the freedom to do what they do best. We chose to have the band run the show - we did not have many stipulations or requests, and we are so happy that we had ECS use their best judgment of the night and the crowd to optimize the performance. They handled absolutely everything A/V from the beginning: from a gorgeous guitar playing for the ceremony, to the wedding party introductions, through the first dances (they even changed a lyric in a song for us as well as learned a new song), toasts, and the dance floor. They had suggestions for all of the processionals/entrance songs and we were so happy to have gone with their selections that made more sense than what we had initially requested. Their set list is long, diverse, and fantastic. Everyone was out on the dance floor all night. Their breaks were appropriately timed, they maintained high energy all night, and they got the party going again after people took breaks from the dance floor. They were excited, engaged, and seemed truly happy to be there with us on our special night. Their vocalists even got out on the dance floor with us to engage with the crowd. They did not have any special requests or needs, and were so easy to accommodate and work with from the beginning. ECS was the first thing we booked for our wedding after the venue, and we're so glad we did. This band is well worth it: you'll be happy you booked them and you'll never look back. -

East Coast Soul (the Stax ensemble) was the LIFE OF THE PARTY for our wedding!!! Their enthusiasm and talent were bar none. They made the entire process seamless and easy for booking and leading up to the wedding. I cannot thank them enough for making our wedding so incredibly fun and memorable. Truly one of the best investments for our wedding. Our family and friends had such an incredible time dancing and it was a night none of us will ever forget. I literally cannot stop talking about how amazing this band was at our wedding. I have never danced so much at a wedding and I've never seen so many people both on the dance floor and moving tables to dance on the grass around it! I truly am not just saying that because it was my own wedding - this band was the talk of the entire next morning's brunch. We had the Stax ensemble with Dan and Astha singing and they are some of the most engaging performers I've ever seen. The whole band is so immensely talented and they did an excellent job with learning our first dance song, playing really appropriate (but good!) dinner music, and then turning it UP for the dance party. They also were so awesomely accommodating about traveling and making sure all details were accounted for. Thank you ECS!!! -

East Coast Soul's Atlantic Ensemble was absolutely INCREDIBLE! They were really responsive and easy to plan with, and their performance was top notch. Everyone who attended our wedding raved about how incredible the band was and that they'd never seen so many guests out on the dance floor at a wedding before. They played an epic hora which got every single guest out on the floor. They also did a wonderful job with music for our ceremony (solo guitarist) and cocktail hour (jazz duo). We can't say enough amazing things about East Coast Soul! Hire them now. -

Everything about this band is top-notch. From our initial interactions with Sean who walked us through a rundown of ECS' vibe and approach and answered all our questions, to the handoff to Art, who was present, prompt, and enthusiastic through all the details, to the actual day-of execution with Torrence, Traci, and the entire Soulsville ensemble...it was ALL flawless and magical.
All of our guests RAVED (and the raving has continued!) with a special shoutout to Torrence. The energy was so high that the floor was literally shaking. We've never experienced a hora so lively (and so long!), and the surprise Don't Stop Believing (everyone thought we planned that) was the perfect way to end this magical night. Our videographer told my husband that he's going to be hard-pressed to find a background song to capture all the energy...and that was just after hour 1 of dancing.
