Worth Every Penny!

Look no further for your wedding music needs. Cagen Music is exactly what you're looking for! Our wedding was in September, and our 200+ guests are STILL telling us: "Your band was amazing!", "That band was the best band I've ever heard at a wedding", "Your wedding was so fun, and that band?! Fantastic." I wish our guests had paid attention to all the details that well!
Honestly though, Cagen Music deserves every recognition. After having to reschedule multiple times due to Covid, we really wanted to dance the night away with our friends and family. They made sure our guests stayed on the dance floor all night long with a wide variety of songs. I'd even go so far as to say our first dance song sounded better than the original! Definitely choose Cagen Music for your next event, you won't be disappointed!

Amazing Wedding DJ!

I highly recommend booking Cagen Music for your big day! First of all, I was so impressed with Cagen Music's professionalism and responsiveness. When I contacted them, Becky reached out to me immediately to set up a meeting. She really took the time to get to know me and my fiance so she could match us with a DJ. She wanted to be sure she knew what our music vibe was and what we wanted our dance floor to look like. From there she communicated with me and our venue about floor plans, arrival times, etc. She really went above and beyond to make things easier for us. And the results were incredible! Our DJ, Chad, was awesome. Many guests told me how he fit our vibe perfectly. The dance floor was happening all night long! Cagen Music was an excellent choice and helped make our day extra special!

The BEST wedding band

Don Cagen is the only band I would hire for future events after our wedding.
Everyone's incredible talent and energy added an unforgettable element to our special day. Their rendition of our first dance song was absolutely beautiful and made that moment even more special for us. We can't thank them enough from the bottom of our hearts.
Their playlist throughout the night was a perfect blend of our favorite songs, and your ability to gauge the crowd's mood and keep everyone dancing was truly remarkable.

Our guests haven't stopped raving about how fantastic our band was-- seriously, every person we have spoken to about the wedding, brings up our incredible band!!! They are all truly unworldly and we are so lucky to have had all of you play at such a special event in our lives. We look forward to sharing future events with them.

So much fun!!

Cagen music was the perfect band for our November wedding. Having a fun live band was a top priority for us and the band exceeded our expectations! We had almost 200 people at the reception and everyone was out on the dancefloor and raving about the band! Highly recommend!

Best of the best!

We cannot recommend the Don Cagen Orchestra enough!!! They were absolutely fantastic! Becky & Don are lovely people and really got to know us as a couple. They listened to what was important to us, played a perfect setlist, provided a seamless timeline, and performed all of our first dance and parent dance songs wonderfully. We had so much fun dancing the night away and I know our guests did too - so many of them have commented about the stellar band!! The dance floor was packed until the very last song, thanks to this incredibly talented band!!

The absolute best!

The Cagen band makes the party! Many of our guests are still saying we have the best wedding band they’ve ever heard. Everyone was on the dance floor! They have done three weddings in our family over the past ten years and have always far exceeded our expectations every time. Don and Becky are a pleasure to work with. This band will get the whole party started!

Cagen Music is fantastic! Becky called us prior to the wedding and went through the entire day from ceremony to reception and really listened to what we wanted. We had a few unusual requests and she helped coordinate everything. The music was so fun and our dance floor was full the entire night. The string orchestra was amazing and the band really helped make our day one to never forget.

Best Wedding Band!!!

Working with Don and Becky made out dreams come true. They understood what we wanted and their performances exceeded our expectations. We had some special requests and made it all happen. I'm still watching our video and loving every song. In our family, it isn't a party unless they are playing.

Fantastic Band!

We had a great experience with them, their playlist is extensive and has lots of choices for all tastes (lot's of great dinner and cocktail hour music in addition to dancing). Before the wedding Becky really helped us out by sitting down and planning out our processional and recessional songs and pointed out some other good options they had that weren't listed out on the playlist. Since we had a Jewish wedding, we really liked their large Israeli and Jewish music lists, our guests really liked the horah medley they helped us put together. Overall it was a great time, they were able to get our guests dancing for the whole reception and closed off the night with a full dance floor.

Big Beat - Amazing!

Big Beat is an extremely talented and professional band who helped make our wedding a success. From our first phone call to the event, Becky Cagen was a pleasure to work with and helped bring confidence and ease. From the vocalists to the drummer, we were utterly impressed how talented the musicians in Big Beat are. We were floored by the quality of the set list and we danced truly all night. Amazing band!

Cagen Music was absolutely amazing to work with! We had the Don Cagen Orchestra perform at our wedding in November and ALL of our guests are still raving that this was the best wedding band they have ever heard! Working with Don and Becky was also a seamless process. We moved our wedding once due to COVID and they were so flexible and easy to work with on this. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone truly had a blast thanks to Don and his incredibly talented band! We are so grateful we decided to work with them and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent band with awesome people!

Amazing Wedding Band!!!

We had such a great experience with Cagen for our wedding!!! Don and Becky were helpful throughout our planning (including through 3 wedding reschedules due to COVID-19)! They helped us establish the timeline for the evening and helped our event run smoothly. Most importantly, they were AMAZING on our wedding day!!! We had multiple guests comment on how incredible the band was! They played during our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, and made the atmosphere fun and joyous throughout! Superb! Truly wonderful.

We hired a number of musicians from Cagen and they were fantastic. They worked with our church’s music director without fuss and the result was the most beautiful music I have ever heard at a wedding. (Though I’m partial.) We really enjoyed Becky’s insight and guidance and it resulted in a ceremony and cocktail hour that none of our guests will ever forget. I wish I could have recorded it all! I would encourage couples to instruct your videographer to record some if not all of the music played. I really do wish we had said something to them.

Absolutely Magical!

Don’t even think twice about booking Cagen Music. From the very first call with Becky, I knew that my wedding was not only in the hand’s of a professional but someone who truly takes great pride in their craft. For the following year, Becky and I would touch base to ensure songs that needed to be learned were on their radar and that our playlist for the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing were tailored to our taste. Conversations with Becky turned into brainstorming sessions to really make sure my wedding stood out as its own event vs a run of the mill wedding. We ended up having a surprise “All You Need Is Love” pop-up at the end of our ceremony based on the one in Love Actually. Our guests are STILL raving about the pop-up months after the wedding.

Our first dance was a meaningful buy obscure folk song that was performed in a manner that rivaled the original. Every single genre/artist that Cagen performed made it seem like we were at that artist’s concert! Our venue ended up getting so much positive feedback and buzz following the wedding that they booked Cagen for their upcoming Holiday Ball.

Simply put, I can’t say enough about Cagen Music; however, I’ll leave you with this (if you’ve read this far), my wedding day simply wouldn’t have been the spectacularly perfect day of my dreams (and my husband’s, and our parents’) if it weren’t for Cagen Music. They’ll take your dreams and make them into reality and push them one step further than you could’ve imagined.

Absolutely epic

The Cagens put their clients first, period. We experienced this from start to finish when working with them for our wedding. They truly listened to us in all of our conversations about a year in advance of the big day and implemented the most special touches that really stood out to us and made our day even more memorable. Not only are they incredibly talented in their own knowledge and expertise of music, but they also hire and contract equally as talented musicians to ensure your music selection sounds the very best it can. To take it an even bigger step further, Becky went out of her way for me to help me surprise my husband with a bagpipe precessional at our ceremony and ensured the surprise went off without a glitch. She worked with out church and planner behind the scenes and left me with 0 worry day of that this was going to be an epic moment. Oh, and it was! Also, trust me when I say this… get the violins, absolutely worth it. Hearing Hotel California on a trio of violins during dinner at our wedding had me shook. Lastly, who doesn’t love people gushing to them about their wedding after the big event? Your guests are guaranteed to have the best time at the wedding with the Cagens there to entertain, and they will without a doubt be raving to you for months and years to follow about your amazing band (it’s currently happening to me right now). Obviously, the Cagens are the best band you could hire for your wedding, but they are also some of the best people you could get to know through your wedding planning process. We love the Cagens and know you will, too!

Perfect from the get-go!

The Don Cagen Orchestra is beyond talented! They were so easy to work and communicate with from the start. Our wedding day would 100% not have been the same (or as fun) without them. We have received so many compliments from guests raving about the band. It’s been over a month since the day, and guests STILL mention how great they were! We are so grateful that they were willing and able to help us pull off a fabulous party. I know decades from now when I think back on the day, some details will most likely be fuzzy, but I will certainly remember how perfect the band was!

Best Orchestra Ever

Becky and Don are like family to us! We Durkin's LOVE the Cagen's. We had the pleasure of having Don and Becky's amazing orchestra play my sister's wedding 5 years ago. So when I got engaged, it was no question I was calling Becky to ask if she could play my wedding. The stars aligned and Don, Becky, and the entire orchestra were in! The Cagen's do not disappoint. Becky has pipes of an angel and I feel like every moment I turned around at my wedding, Don was playing another instrument. What a truly talented musician! Just like at my sister's wedding, guests were coming up to Shane and me at mine begging to know where we found the orchestra. I explained the beauty that they played my sister's wedding many moons ago, and they became family to us over the years. That just shows how genuine and caring the Cagens are they CARE! And they want your wedding to be spectral and the way YOU want it. They know exactly how to make a party go from being simply a celebration to a night that will go down in history forever. They did that for Shane and I! Friends and family are still talking about how they wished we do the party all over again just to see the Don Cagen Orchestra play once again. (Don't worry-they will be at the next Durkin wedding for sure!)

Lastly, this is one thing I want to note. I surprised my husband by getting on stage and playing the drums with the band. The drummer, John, kindly let me jump on his kit and play my heart out. I played "Uptown Funk" and I have to say, the band and I took the room by storm. It was the first time I ever played with a band and I felt as if I was on cloud nine. They made my dreams come true and my husband realized how badass of chick he was marrying. Best surprise ever! Thank you Becky and Don

Don Cagen Orchestra ROCKS! (no pun intended!)

Our daughter's wedding was this past weekend and we couldn't have been happier with Don Cagen and his band. They were phenomenal, the music was amazing but even better than that they really made it a party! The flow of the night is generally dictated by the band and to say they "killed it" would be a gross understatement. I can't tell you how many people came up to us to tell us how much fun they had and how when the night came to end, they were shocked because they had so much fun and never even looked at their watches and couldn't believe what time it was. Guests of ours that said they rarely dance at weddings told us they were up dancing the entire night and barely even ate! It was an incredible party and far exceeded my wildest dreams. Thank you, Don & Becky!!!

Best Wedding Band!

The Don Cagen Orchestra played at our wedding at the end of August in 2018 and were fantastic! The band was one of my favorite parts of the wedding and we received a ton of compliments from our guests! All guests (young and old) packed the dance floor all night! My husband and I are University of Michigan grads and they surprised us by playing the fight song. I also used them for the instrumentation for the ceremony and cocktail hour. They were super helpful in making song suggestions for our ceremony and enhanced the instrumentation for our first dance - making them extra memorable!

We fell in love with Don Cagen Orchestra at our very first meeting. Don was extremely professional and blew us away when he shared demos of the band's music. We knew from that day we didn't need to interview any other bands. From there, Don and Becky were responsive and calming during the wedding planning process - always listening to our requests but also providing advice from their expertise. Hiring Don Cagen orchestra for our wedding was one of the best things we did! We were debating between a band or dj for some time, but having a tent wedding, we had our hearts set on a band. After talking with many bands across Chicagoland area, I was set on Don Cagen, after speaking with Becky. Her professionalism and communication set them apart! We hired them without even listening to them in studio, based on recommendations from other vendors and from our conversations with them-they did not disappoint!!! Don came out for a final walk through the month prior and we instantly connected with him and his energetic personality. The day of music was everything we could have imagined and more! Although a July evening, the dance floor was packed for the majority of the night and we even had them play an extra hour because everyone was having so much fun! They are extremely talented! They knew how to read the dance floor and keep the guests energized and having fun! One of our guests loved them so much they hired them on the spot for their own wedding! Friends and family still talk about them and I am sure they will for years to come! Thanks for making our wedding day so memorable!

Second only to my groom and our family and friends, The Don Cagen Orchestra was the highlight of our entire wedding! I have so many positive things to say that I will just go in chronological order. First, contacting and booking with them was easy and they were really flexible with all of our ideas and needs. They were professional and personable from beginning to end. When it came to the planning process, Becky was available via email and phone and she really helped me make creative musical decisions that turned out perfectly.
THE BIG DAY I will admit I was a little bit of a nervous wreck but as we arrived to the venue, Becky approached me and it just made all of my nerves go away because I knew that if everything else goes wrong I KNOW that at least the music would be right and that was so important to my husband and I.
Chitarra played the violin and cello at our ceremony and even accompanied my sister during her musical offering which was a well known song in a different arrangement. They continued the beautiful music into cocktail hour. We requested modern, upbeat music and they nailed it because the ambiance was just perfect.
Don rocked out one of my favorite songs on the trumpet for our introductions and their song choices for dinner and dancing could not have been more perfect for us. I feel like they totally understand our taste and didn't need much direction with that which eliminated a lot of unnecessary stress from the whole process.
Overall, the Don Cagen Orchestra was my favorite part of our wedding and it also happened to be the least stressful and most fun part of it too. They are so versatile and they sound AMAZING! I highly recommend working with them for your wedding. Thank you, Don and Becky!

We were lucky enough to have "The Big Beat" as our wedding band this past September. They literally brought the house down! We still have friends and family talking about how good they were. Besides the actual even, Don and Becky were amazing people to work with and totally understood our vision from the first time we met and throughout the planning process. I feel like the music can sometimes make or break the evening and I knew I had nothing to worry about once we found "The Big Beat".

Two months after our wedding, folks are still asking, "where did you find THAT BAND?' We went into our planning process thinking we'd likely go with a DJ. Thankfully our wedding planner had the sense to talk us out of that. If you looking to create a lively, fun experience with professional musicians - Cagen Music is the way to go. The process was simple and fit our schedule and the night of we couldn't have been more pleased...the dance floor NEVER STOPPED. At first, at 10 piece band seemed excessive, but once we understood that it meant continuous music (no breaks) and such a variety of vocals and sounds we were convinced...Don and Becky didn't let us down.

It has been over a week since our daughter's wedding, & we are STILL receiving RAVE reviews about the performance of this outstanding, top-tier band! Over the 18 mos. of planning for this event, communications with Don and Becky were an absolute pleasure. They listened carefully to the bride's and groom's requests and delivered all of them with a smile. We chose the 13-piece band for a perfect range of Genres, vocals, and instruments. Guests were on the dance floor until we had to close down! Additionally, we followed Becky's expert advice on including their violin act, The CoverGirls. WOW FACTOR x 10!! This superb, Pop/Rock surprise performance had all of our guests in shock & awe, ending with a huge standing ovation! These ladies blew the roof off our club!! We HIGHLY recommend this addition to your entertainment! Another highlight, among too many to list here, was Don's use of his EVI, which left us all mesmerized. Cagen Music was the most incredible decision for us! We got married at the beautiful Blackstone Hotel, downtown Chicago, in September and had heard wonderful things about this band. We went to meet Don almost a year before the wedding and he played us some of their music via cd and we were blown away. Well, we were even more blown away the night of our wedding. They are the best band we have ever heard live. So professional, they work the crowd, know all the right beats to get the entire room on the dance floor all night long. The party did not stop!
Becky and Don are so professional to work with every step of the way. I am Australian (my husband is American) and I requested a Men at Work song to be played and Don made it happen on the night. It was a huge hit and everything was SO memorable.
They are worth every cent. You can't beat a live band but especially the Cagen's!

What a professional and talented group! We were thrilled with the Don Cagen Orchestra. The dance floor was packed all night. My husband’s grandpa who has literally never danced in his entire life did not leave the dance floor once they started playing. After the evening came to an end, his grandma turned to me and said, "this was the best night of my life." The band knows how to read a crowd and keep the energy up. They took the time to learn our wedding song and played it beautifully. Thanks for making our wedding reception a total success!

Yesterday we used Incognito for our wedding in St. Charles. Going into it there's always that fear that the band won't sound as anticipated, but holy cow did they hit it out of the park! The dance floor was jam packed from the very first song until the last song had finished. Every age group was on the floor having the time of their lives and we had countless guests ask us where we found the band telling us they've never seen a dance floor stay so packed. They were so good that after the last song our guests were chanting "one more song!" for an encore.

Nothing but positive things to say about Incognito and very highly recommended.

The Cagen Orchestra made our cocktail hour and reception a memorable one! The guests commented that they felt like they were at a concert, loved the music, and danced the whole night. The selection of music was perfect for our guests and exactly what we wanted. The orchestra was able to read the feel of the guests and play the appropriate music to keep the dancing going. The orchestra kept their three violinists until the end with the guests cheering for them. The members of the orchestra made an effort to speak with us during/after the event. Becky and Don Cagen were very personable and a pleasure to work with. They were responsive and offered suggestions without being pushy. We chose to use their Jazz Trio during the cocktail hour, which was enjoyed by all. We chose the 13 member band, including the 3 violins, for our reception. They can perform a wide variety of music from classical to oldies to pop. They even learned/arranged our first dance song and father-daughter song even though those songs were not on their list and played them perfectly! I even had a friend ask if the orchestra would travel for their wedding! I would not have chosen another band or DJ for anything.

Our daughter's wedding was the highlight of our lives. Don and Becky took us by the hand and walked us through every step of the way. The bride and groom were invited to the Cagan home/studio and given a variety of choices to make for thier "evening. Many phone calls along the way assurd us we were in good hands. The day of the wedding the music at the church was magnificent. Don and his string quartet , made our guests gasp with each new selection. How could we have known it would only get better...The Reception was perfect. The orchestra had everyone on the dance floor all night long. And all night long our guests sang the praises of the musicians. We could not have asked for more. We would tell anyone not to hesitate to use these accomplished professionals. We all felt we had the greatest orchestra in Chicago! Thanks for everything!

We used Incognito Band (subset from the entire band) from the Don Cagen Orchestra and are incredibly happy with the job they did! The dance floor was full the entire night, they alternated smoothly between music of different generations/genres and, most importantly, we had tons of fun! They also did our ceremony music and dinner music, which also were wonderful. Highly recommend!

Incognito played at my wedding this past weekend and was phenomenal! I was a bit hesitant, as I booked them without hearing them live or finding many reviews on them...but they were a hit! We needed band that would not only sound great, but would also entertain both our younger and older guests by integrating the age groups' music tastes without "sectioning" the music so only the older or younger guests would be dancing at any given time. As you know from attending weddings, that is no easy feat. But, Incognito achieved exactly that. The band even managed to get the older, really traditional folks to dance to Lady Gaga!!!

Throughout the evening and after the wedding, many of our guests effusively commented on the band. They even learned 2 new songs for our wedding on short notice and BOTH sounded amazing! Leading up to the wedding, I interfaced primarily with Becky Cagen, who, like the band, is just fantastic! She provided the pefect balance of guidance and suggestions to provide us with reassurance and a seemless flow. I highly recommend Incognito for anyone who wants a fantastic band!

Becky & Don Cagen were great! We initially were only going to do a dj but decided that our venue needed the elegance of a band for entertainment. They are very professional & flexible with planning song selections for our wedding. We wanted 2 songs that were not on their list for our first dance & combined mother/son, father/daughter dance and they accommodated our request one week out from our wedding. They recommended having a greek band they work with to come cover that portion of dancing but we already had our dj working on that portion of the dancing. They have a "no problem" attitude to all things music related. They recommended hiring their violinists but it was out of our budget so they included the violinists at no extra charge to us. They provided our cocktail music & dancing from 9-12am. They were great at keeping the guests entertained & dancing throughout the entire the night.

All our guests talked about after our wedding was how great our band was...and...in particular...the 3 violinists who cranked it up as the evening went on...Don and his band were phenomenol...They knew their crowd and played to it...Absolutely fantastic !!! Cagen music is one in a millions. Becky and Don are some of the sweetest people I've ever dealt with in business. They're no pressure, want to please and really know their stuff. While they do have their own thing going on, they 'manage' other bands and really have a great thing going. As we had some stipulations as to how large our band could be at the Shedd, they worked with and dealth with all of the minor stipulations and never bothered me once with problems that they may have run across.

Incognito, the band that played at our wedding, kicked some serious butt. While we did pay extra to keep the music going, they just played their hearts out the entire time! We have been to many weddings in the past year, and it's rare to see people really not ready to go when the lights come on. By the time we were asked to leave, there were so many people still there so pumped to go out from such a great time.

I'd highly recommend spending the money and getting a class act with Cagen Music!

Our experience with Cagen Music was incredible. They curated a beautiful playlist for our wedding reception and we danced the night away. We recently had the pleasure of having Incognito (one of the bands that is a part of Cagen Music) play at our wedding. They kept the dance floor packed all night long and we received numerous compliments from our guests on the band: their style, range of genres and overall energy level. Ron, the band leader, reads the audience well and decided on the next song while the current song is being played in order to keep the people on the dance floor. The complete ten piece band really allows for a full fantastic sound. Becky Cagen (main contact) was a delight to work with. She was responsive and efficient in answering our questions. She made suggestions where appropriate and explained why she thought certain ideas made sense based on her knowledge of the band and the type of wedding we wanted. Reflecting back on the evening, her suggestion of continuous play was absolutely appropriate and perfect. If the band had stopped, our party would have stopped as well. I highly recommend Cagen Music and Incognito.

We booked the band Incognito under the Don Cagen Orchestra. They were an absolute blast at our wedding and they got everyone out on the dance floor. great experience

From the moment we met with Don and Becky we knew that we'd be hiring them for our wedding. They were professional, truthful, and observational, and you could tell that they would be able to manage the night. We decided to go with a 10-piece orchestra for our reception and 3 violinists (and Don, who plays piano) for our ceremony -- and we are definitely happy with our decision! The band has an endless list of songs to choose from (in advance) and they even went out of their way to learn a pretty intense jazz number we had mentioned off hand. All night our guests were commenting on how great the band was not only for their performance, but also their ability to read the room and play to the mood. Our dance floor was packed the entire night. Also, the band was entirely flexible when we asked if we could add time onto the performance that evening. If you are looking for a band that can keep up the energy and entertain your guests all night, I highly recommend going with Don Cagen!

We had eight performers and we were very pleased with each person's performance. The leaders truly listened to our requests beforehand and made the party exactly the way we wanted it. Even though the cost was a big part of our budget, it was definitely worth it. Our party was sophisticated and memorable.
