Look No Further- DJ Underdog Was Awesome!
Look no further, DJ Underdog absolutely killed it at our wedding! He was a phenomenal dj but also a thorough and organized emcee for the entire wedding. He kept everyone right on schedule so that we could get through all of our dances and speeches in a timely manner to leave plenty of time for the dance floor. He also took the time to discuss our plans over zoom prior to the wedding to make us feel comfortable with the timeline and activities. He even made a personalized mash up for our walk out songs that was greatly appreciated. He goes above and beyond and multiple people at the wedding came up to us complimenting our dj.

The Best DJ 10/10
Joe aka DJ Underdog was so kind, professional, and organized throughout the entire wedding planning process. We would recommend him to anyone getting married or having an event! He was a fantastic DJ and had the dance floor packed all night. Our guests have been raving about how good the music was. We are so lucky that he was available to DJ our wedding. 10/10 DJ! -

DJ Underdog is the BEST!
DJ Underdog (Joe) was the DJ for my sister’s wedding 3 years ago. We had such an amazing time that I knew I had to hire him if I got married! Joe DJ’d our wedding on July 9, 2022 and made our reception so much fun! Prior to the wedding, Joe took the time to go over all of the reception logistics with me (pronunciation of names, order of events, song choices, etc.) to make sure everything was perfect and ran smoothly. He also took the time to curate a reception playlist based on the songs and genres of music that my husband and I like! At the reception, Joe made sure that everything ran smoothly so that we did not need to worry about anything. We had so much fun at the reception and so did our guests! We have gotten so many compliments about the music. Everyone was having fun and dancing which made us so happy! Joe is so talented and such a great person. If you are lucky enough to work with DJ Underdog, you and your guests will have the best time ever! I cannot recommend Joe enough and he will always be my go-to DJ for future events! -

Joe aka DJ Underdog was an absolute dream of a DJ to work with. From our initial consultation call he was very attentive, professional and accommodating. We immediately felt confidence in his skill as he made every attempt to get to know us, our musical tastes and type of wedding. With our first call and rave reviews from family/friends, we knew we wanted to book him! He is extremely responsive and patient and will craft the perfect playlist and flow of events for your special day. He was very quick on his feet when our generator cut out and helped made the most seamless flow. He kept the dance floor busy all night, not a single song made people sit down. He truly made our night unforgettable and I cannot emphasize how personable, attentive and accommodating he was. He made us feel SO comfortable and confident that we were going to have the best night of our life. and we sure did! Highly recommend Joe aka DJ Underdog for your event! -

Amazing Experience!
DJ Underdog came recommended to us by a mutual friend and he did not disappoint! We knew from our first conversation that he was the perfect fit to DJ our wedding. He was personable, knowledgeable, and professional. When the pandemic hit, DJ Underdog was supportive, patient, and accommodating as our original wedding plans changed. All we wanted for our wedding was a packed dance floor and that's what we go! Our friends are still talking about how great the music was at our reception! We highly recommend! -

A great DJ!
Joe was the perfect DJ for our wedding. He played the songs we wanted, but also read the crowd of dancers really well and kept people out on the dance floor which was important to me. I also LOVED how he didn't play the whole song; he really acted as a true DJ and got right into the next song to keep people interested.
Through all of COVID we had to just skype instead of meeting in person and it actually worked out well. Then throughout the night of the wedding, he stayed in contact with my husband and I to keep us aware of when we would do certain dances like the father-daughter. All ran very smoothly, and I would recommend him to any bride who wants her guests to have a good time on the dance floor. -

Look no further, you've found your DJ!
Of all our wedding vendors, we spent the most time looking for a DJ,and cannot recommend DJ Underdog enough! We knew he was going to be our DJ after our first meeting. Planning and communication was super easy, he was so fun to work with, had some great recommendations, and most importantly, took our selections (and do-not-play list) seriously. Although our venue was on one property, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were in three different buildings, and Joe never missed a beat. I am so thankful he helped keep us organized and everything moving smoothly. Joe was an amazing MC, and most importantly, he kept the party going! The dance floor was full all night, he really was able to read a room and make the party! Months later, our family and friends still talk about how much fun our reception was, Thanks Joe! -

Great DJ in the Pittsburgh area
DJ Underdog was our DJ for our Pittsburgh wedding reception. He was easy to plan with and took a lot of time to make sure he got all the names right in the wedding party. He also played all the songs we wanted and some other great ones of his own. He mixed all the songs together really well. He was really nice in person, too. Would highly recommend! -

Best in the Burgh
Joe was the best decision we made for our wedding — hands down. It’s been almost a year since we have been married and people are STILL telling us that we had the most fun wedding they have ever been to. This is 100% because of Joe. He read the room and kept the party going all night. Not only that, but he met with us for 2 hours during the planning process. It felt like a good friend was playing jams at our wedding - not just a random guy that a company sent. He truly took the time to get to know us. Plus, he went along with all of our weird requests (Read: instrumental versions of The Weeknd and Bieber during cocktail hour).
I won’t recommend anyone BUT Joe. He’s the best DJ in the game. -

Amazing DJ and MC
Joe aka DJ Underdog was one of the first vendors I contacted after we got engaged. I saw him DJ at a friend’s wedding and based on the awesome time we had, we knew we had to hire him for ours - we are so glad we did because he absolutely killed it. Joe played the perfect mix of music and did an awesome job of MC’ing the evening. He kept the whole night running smoothly, seamlessly transitioned from cocktail hour to bridal party introductions (nailed every one of my family’s very Italian names!) to dinner to speeches to dancing, and was never ever “corny” (let’s be honest, we have all seen some corny DJs at weddings). We spoke several times prior to our wedding to go over everything - he is very professional, organized, and made sure everything was covered. Planning the timeline of the night and music selections with Joe was a fun and totally stress free process. He played everything we wanted to hear and kept the party going all night long. We received so many compliments from our guests on the music and our dance floor was packed the ENTIRE night. Over and above his abilities as a DJ, Joe is just a super cool guy. We had such a fun night with him. We cannot recommend him enough! -

Joe was recommended to us by someone who attended a wedding where he was the DJ. After meeting with Joe, I knew that we chose the right person. He is so knowledgeable in everything needed to make the day go smoothly and even thought of things that we didn't. Most importantly, the music was amazing. Let me start by saying we chose our wedding date based on DJ Underdog's availability and not the reception venue's availability! There was no way I (the bride) would have our wedding reception without him! I have been a fan of DJ Underdog for over 12 years since attending a former coworker's wedding in 2005! DJ Underdog knows how to get everyone out of their seats and remain on the dance floor all night playing a mix of songs to accommodate any music-lovers' preference. It has been almost a month since our wedding and we saw friends over the 4th of July who were still going on about how much fun they had at our wedding and how awesome our DJ was!!
For our wedding, we had a mix of Top 40 - Pop/R&B/Hip-Hop, Motown, Classic Rock, Country, and timeless, classic slow songs. On our RSVP cards we left a space for our guests to include a song they'd "promise to dance to if they heard..."and did our best to include them on our "Must Play" list. For some of the requests we received that were a little slower or older, we asked for them to be played during dinner. The little personal touches that made our guest extra happy that day would not have been possible without the help of Joe! In addition to these special requests, he was also willing and able to cut our first dance song from over 5 minutes down to 3, and blended the mother/son dance from Somewhere Over the Rainbow into a Polka flawlessly!
DJ Underdog's energy to get the crowd hype extends from his fun-loving, charismatic, humorous personality. You will love this guy the moment you sit down to meet with him. He is hands-down THE BEST DJ I have ever seen/heard at a wedding. Professional, catering, and energetic don't even do this man justice, as obvious by the rest of the reviews on this site and on The Knot. Do yourself a favor and book this man as your DJ! You will not regret it! -

DJ Underdog is the perfect vendor for anyone who wants to make sure that their event is a great party! He was so much fun to work with and was totally flexible when we wanted to mix things up a the last minute. His expertise shines through in everything he does, from announcing the bridal party to helping you select the perfect tunes for the evening. We attended a friends wedding last year that DJ Underdog Deejay-ed and it was the most fun, most energized wedding that we ever attended. When we got engaged, it was an easy choice for us to reach out to Joe to ask him to share in our special day and we're so fortunate to book him.
The experience start to finish was an extremely positive one. He took the time to meet and get to know us, understand what we were looking for and was very open to sharing his opinions and ideas with us which enhanced the experience even more. He did an incredible job at our reception and had everyone on the dance floor the whole night. He listened to our requests, and did an awesome job of catering to the demographics we had at our wedding.
Joe also MC'ed the night and did the up-lighting for us. He did a great job keeping us on track and our reception room looked absolutely incredible.

Joe was an awesome DJ and made our wedding very fun. The dance floor was packed all night long and if there was a song that maybe wasn't going over so well he would speed things up and move on to the next song to keep people dancing. He had great suggestions when we were unsure of certain song selections, was very responsive to emails, and very understanding when it came to some drama regarding family announcements. -

My husband and I got married at Armstrong Farms on October 10, 2015. We had an outdoor ceremony, cocktail hour, and indoor reception. Joe (DJ Underdog) covered all three parts of our wedding. He helped us step away from the more traditional wedding music and made our wedding one to remember! Joe kept the party going until the very last song. The dance floor was packed the entire night. Our guests were so impressed by the variety of music that he played and how he kept everyone dancing all night long. We could not be more pleased with Joe! -

DJ Underdog came highly recommended and I had seen him at other weddings in our family, but I was not prepared for how perfect he would make our reception. He helped with our final song selections, which was one of the more fun parts of our wedding planning. He played every song we wanted to hear and even put in some special songs for our parents. He pronounced everyone's names correctly on announcement and had everyone on the dance floor all night long. He played the songs I requests when I was on the dance floor, so that I heard them, which blew my mind that he paid such close attention to what was going on. He made the night and everyone cannot stop talking about how much fun they had. He is really the best of the best!!! -

To say that DJ Underdog is the best is truly an understatement! We could not have been more pleased with having him as our DJ! From the very beginning he was easy to work with and was prompt with returning phone calls and emails. During our initial meeting, he took time to get to know us so that he knew just what to play during our reception. He kept the crowd alive and played just the right mix of old, unique, and new songs to please everyone! DJ Underdog (Joe) was the best part of our wedding! He made everything so easy from our first meeting with him up until the wedding day. If you are planning a wedding you know that vendors making things easy for you is exactly what you need. He was always available for us any time we had a question or wanted to meet with him. During the reception, Joe kept us up-to-date with everything that was coming up so we were prepared. This made everything flow seamlessly throughout the evening. Even now, 6 months AFTER our wedding, guests still tell us how much fun our DJ made everything! Two couples even booked DJ Underdog after seeing him at our wedding. We cannot wait to hear him again at their weddings this year!
What really separates Joe from most DJs, is his professionalism and passion for what he does. He DJs because he loves it and has a great time doing it. It is so evident on the day of your wedding that he is having just as much fun as you are! He is so professional and thorough. He truly cares about making your wedding day perfect and that really shows in his attention to detail. The week of your wedding can be so hectic, but the DJ was not one of the many things on our list to worry about. He makes sure to have the final meeting weeks before.
I always recommend Joe 100% to anyone I know looking for a DJ. You will not go wrong if you choose DJ Underdog to DJ your wedding!! -

A lot of time and money go into your wedding day and the DJ can make or break the experience. I booked DJ Underdog based on word of mouth from friends and reading reviews. Hands down the easiest and best wedding decision I have made. I actually changed my wedding day because he was already booked for our original date! Prior to meeting:Bride/Groom complete questionnaire. Joe is flexible in setting up a meeting to work around your schedule (we skyped!). He was prepared for our meeting and was able to ask the right questions to basically organize the flow of the reception. He has an inside perspective that saves a lot of time and frustration. He is witty, professional, and focuses on executing your wedding day vision. He is always on time, prepared, and relaxed. He had the dance floor packed the whole night! He was able play a little of everything to keep everyone going. Joe does not simply start a play list and take requests. His music is well planned with your input and transitions beautifully. We gave him a little insight as to what we like and he ran with it. He was professional and clear on the mic when announcing wedding party. He works everything out weeks in advance so you don't have to add to your week of the wedding to do list. He checked in closer to the wedding date to confirm the plan. I literally had nothing to worry about the entire night. I wish all wedding vendors were as experienced and wonderful to work with as DJ Underdog! After the wedding, while rehashing the events with some of the wedding guests, they raved about DJ Underdog! -

DJ Underdog was no underdog!!!
DJ Underdog was one of the main reasons our wedding turned out as amazing as it did. He had our guests on the dance floor from the moment he started playing until the end of the reception. In addition, our guests were continuously complimenting him throughout the night.
Above all, DJ Underdog was very professional, reliable, and organized. He truly listened to all of all ideas and suggestions, and was able to apply them to the music the entire night. Also, he had no problem accommodating our last minute change to add a bridal dance, something that is unique to the Pittsburgh area.
Make no mistake; if you hire DJ Underdog for your special day, you will have the time of your life! Best DJ EVER!!!

DJ Underdog, Joe Michalski, was honestly the reason our wedding turned out as amazing as it did. Our guests were continuously complimenting him throughout the night. He had people on the dance floor from the time he started playing until the time he packed up. He is very organized, reliable, and professional. He had no problem when we decided last minute to add an extra hour onto our reception time; and is truly there to work with the couple and make the night exactly what you want. He has such unique ideas,and at the same time is able to take the couple's input to make the music a true reflection of our personalities. He is very personable and I would highly highly recommend him for any event!!!

DJ Underdog is the best DJ in Pittsburgh. He is very thorough in making sure everything goes off without a hitch. He met with us and listened to all of our ideas and had some great ideas of his own. He played all of the music that we requested and didn't play the music on our "Do not play list," which was a big deal to us. During the reception he made sure to keep us informed of the how the flow of events would happen and helped get us ready for everything that we had to do. His song selections were great and he kept the crowd pumped the entire night. If I EVER need a DJ again I will definitely be booking DJ Underdog. -

DJ Underdog was absolutely amazing! We could not have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! He listened to everything we said we wanted and made sure all of it happened. He constantly updated us throughout the night with what he had planned next, which was great. He played a variety of music, which kept the dance floor packed all night. DJ Underdog (Joe) was amazing from our first meeting through the ceremony and even afterwards. Our first meeting with him lasted over 2 hours and we discussed everything from musical taste to Pittsburgh Dad. It was great getting to know him and he definitely seemed to enjoy getting to know us. He was always quick with email or phone responses. Our 2nd meeting went very well too! It's good to be prepared going into the meeting, but he's willing to assist as much as necessary with the music selection. He got our intro done in 1 try, which was amazing! During the reception, he did everything right! He played everything we wanted him to and played lots more stuff we didn't know we wanted but every selection was awesome. He added a couple funny song selections after the speeches and after the reception was over, he played 3 additional songs that were PERFECT to end the night! He was great from beginning to end. After the ceremony and honeymoon, he followed up with us several times to see how we were doing. DJ Underdog is the best! HIRE HIM! WOW! There are no words that articulate what an awesome job DJ Underdog did as our DJ and MC. He was the critical ingredient that made our reception unforgettable. All of our guests continue to rave about what an amazing party we had and how great the music was. We had numerous guests that have been to literally dozens of weddings over the past few years and they all agreed that we had the best DJ and MC they have ever seen. My new wife and I have been in 10 plus wedding for our friends and wholeheartedly agree. The custom mixes, our special requests, and the pacing of the party leading up to an unbelievable final set of songs was incredible. DJ Underdog delivered perfection; if we could have imagined our ideal playlist for our reception it would not have been as good as what he came up with. Some of our recently married guests loved DJ Underdog so much that they were jealous that they didn't have him DJ their weddings. Not only that, but he was one of the few vendors for our wedding that took the time to meet with us, ensure he understood exactly what we wanted and what kind of music we love, and then delivered it like a true professional. If we could only give one piece of advice to couples getting married in the Pittsburgh area, without a doubt it would be to hire DJ Underdog! -

DJ Underdog, Joe Michalski - is the BEST! It does not get much better than him. He not only was our DJ for our wedding but he turned into a great friend. He's someone that listens to his clients. He adds his own industry perspective and suggestions but ultimately understands its about the bride/groom/family and to serve them well is him doing his job. To top it off - I gave him a list of songs I wanted to play. Not only did he play every one of them but he added even more songs to the list that I had not even thought of! He was so energetic and really got the guests excited. You could tell he was having a blast which in turn made the guests have a blast. He kept me (the bride) in the loop with the festivities going on throughout the entire reception and always asked me first if someone requested a semi-ridiculous song. He kept our needs and wants first and that's what you want in a wedding vendor. He's the best. I can only hope everyone is as lucky as us to work with him! -

Don't think twice - just book him!
We met with other DJs looking for one that was personable and that we both liked, within minutes we knew it was Joe! He was helpful and flexible throughout the process. Hubby even changed out wedding song last minute - no problem! He made a CD (two i think!) of the songs he played at out wedding - such a neat idea. He honored our requests (do not play list) and kept everyone happy. There were many comments that night about our great DJ. He also was a huge help in keeping both of us moving and on time. We follow him on Facebook and are looking forward I seeing him DJ again around Pittsburgh when we are both off. He definitely made the night! -

Joe was the DJ at our wedding reception who single-handedly made the party. At our pre-wedding meeting, he created custom playlists for us and eliminated all music that we do not appreciate (Kenny G!) We had numerous compliments on the music selections and his ability to keep the guests entertained. He was very easy to work with, energetic, and went the extra mile to make our night perfect. (Even saying the blessing before the meal when the priest couldn’t be found) It has been 9 years since our wedding and 2 weeks ago I had a message requesting Joe’s info for a bride-to-be. He’ll do whatever it takes to make your wedding the night of your life. -

I cant begin to explain how great DJ Underdog is. My husband and I were at other weddings he DJ'ed and he was fantastic, we always said we would have him be our DJ no matter what when we got married. When we were planning we had 2 dates in mind, one more preferably. DJ Underdog was booked that day, so we changed our wedding date to the other date becuase he was available! He really out done himself at our wedding. So many guest commented how fun it was becuase of him. Honestly, I would have him DJ again and I highly recommend him!! DJ Underdog hands down made our reception what it was which was amazing, so much fun and a night all of our guests will remember. DJ Underdog was amazing. He took the time to listen to our requests in a previous meeting and then incorporated them into his mix for the wedding. He had a fantastic idea that our first dance also be our last dance. It was something special, because at the end, everyone else joined in. I have to say, while it is only less than 1 year away from when we got married, whenever someone talks about our wedding, they say how amazing the music was and how they never danced the night away so hard like they did at our wedding. Underdog was such a pleasure to work with and totally delivered on the big day! Leading up to the wedding he responded quickly to emails and phone calls, he also took the time to meet with us and my mother in person. He was super organized with an event schedule and was happy to oblige both our "playlist" and "do-not-playlist." He also went out of his way to get the "clean" version of some of our favorite rap songs as not to offend some of our older, more conservative guests. He even presented us with a "wedding soundtrack" cd as a wedding gift at the end of the night, which included some of the music we had requested. Between his great personality as an MC, his quality equipment, and professionalism, I was 100% happy with his services! -

I wanted to do something special for my father/daughter dance and I had this great idea to do an "evolution" dance. I picked different songs I liked and asked DJ Underdog if he could make it happen. Well, let's just say everyone was watching our dance and I can't thank Joe (DJ Underdog) enough for making my dance soooo incredible and the way he mixed it was perfect:) Not to mention he kept everyone on the dance floor all night (crowd was mixed young and old). I had the most fun at my wedding on the dance floor! Friends still talk about it!
My little sister also got him to dj her wedding May 12, 2012. Same results. No one left the dance floor! By then I had my 9 month son and he was loving the music:) So nice to experience him as a "bride" and a "guest".
Super professional. Keeps the party going. Easy to work with. Definitely has a passion for music:) -

DJ Underdog provided us with everything we could have wanted and more! First off, he played music for our ceremony in a tent on the grounds of the reception venue, which also required rehearsing with the soloist beforehand. He then moved his set up to the patio for the cocktail hour. Finally, he had his main equipment set up in the ballroom, including lights!! He played everything that we asked him to, we had a meeting with him prior to the wedding and selected all of our "special songs." DJ Underdog concluded the evening by gifting us with a CD of all of the special songs that we asked for. GREAT CHOICE- your DJ can make or break the reception and DJ Underdog will make it better than you could imagine!! -

DJ Underdog was fantastic - we had so many guests tell us this during and after our wedding. He was easy to work with and so professional at the event. We've been to weddings where you could barely understand the DJ when he spoke and/or names were pronounced incorrectly. DJ Underdog spoke in a loud, clear, engaging voice; he also doublechecked pronunciation on each name in advance. His music was awesome - he knew how to get the party started and keep it going. He listened to our requests and made some great mixes that the crowd loved. The best part of the wedding was a "married couples dance" that we did instead of the bouquet/garter toss. One of my family members danced with her grandson as her husband was ill, and DJ Underdog did such a nice job "on the spot" explaining the situation to all the guests in a professional and easygoing way.
We found him at a friend's wedding; my husband (boyfriend at the time) said "if we get married, he's our DJ". I heard a few of our newly coupled guests whisper the same! -
