Derek was the perfect DJ for our wedding! He matched the vibe we were going for exactly and kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night. He was a complete professional and the set-up and teardown was so seamless we weren't even aware it was happening. Can't recommend DJ Derek enough!

Our dancefloor was every guest's highlight!

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better DJ. From start to finish, he was amazing to work with and made the entire process feel easy and stress-free. Every single guest loved him, and he somehow managed to appeal to every age group and type of guest. He took requests, which was a huge hit and a total game-changer for the energy on our dance floor. It stayed packed the entire night and truly became the highlight of our reception.

He communicated so well leading up to the wedding, checked in when needed, and handled our last-minute changes calmly and professionally without missing a beat. His ability to read the room and keep the momentum going made our wedding one of the most fun and memorable nights of our lives. We are so grateful we chose him and would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

Derek was great to work with from the planning process to the actual wedding day!! Very quick with responses if we ever had questions. The day of the wedding, he came earlier than expected, set everything up beautifully, played great music during the ceremony and reception. Great DJ!!

Exceptional service, highly recommend!

Derek was all-around fantastic to work with before, during, and after our wedding. Very easy to communicate with and responsive over email, he offered great recommendations when we had questions about certain music selections.

Excellent DJ - professional and easy to work with!

Derek is an excellent DJ! He accommoated all of our specific musical requests for the ceremony and executed them perfectly. For the reception, we were pretty hands off with our music choices - we just provided some general guidance but he was able to pick up on exactly what we were looking for! DJ Derek is the best DJ ever

DJ Derek was absolutely amazing! We first heard him at a friend's wedding and knew we wanted him to DJ ours. Derek was extremely professional, flexible, nice, and made sure that everything was perfect. His online portal for requesting songs was easy to use and really helpful (as was his do-not-play list). Really the best way to describe how awesome Derek and his team are is that our guests hit the dance floor before dinner because the music was so good and didn't stop dancing all night. He knew exactly how to set up the "flow" so that people were enjoying themselves throughout the night and the right songs were played for the right audiences. My wife and I truly cannot recommend DJ Derek Romanoff highly enough!

Talk of the Town!

Obviously, Derek was amazing in my opinion. What surprised me was how many guests commented on how much they loved him! It is one thing to make an impact on the bride that hired you, but it really says something big when all of the guests are going out of their way to tell you how much they loved the DJ. No one left the dance floor!

Derek was AWESOME! My husband and I worked w/ Derek for our May 2019 wedding and things could not have gone more perfectly. We provided Derek with a list of songs that we wanted played during different milestones of the day and each was played perfectly as planned! The sound and service was excellent and the party would not have been as fun or memorable without all the help and assistance from Derek. He even let us borrow a microphone to karaoke at the end of the day! We cannot thank Derek enough for being so easy to work with and making our wedding great! My husband and I are beyond grateful that we were able to have Derek as our deejay. He was quick to respond to any questions we had. Went above and beyond my expectations!

Derek was an amazing dj. He went above and beyond what I was expecting. At one point I was talking with my father before the introductions into the reception and he overheard me saying that I really wanted a Coca Cola. Within about a minute he was walking up to me with a soda in his hand for me. He also brought me another soda as I was eating dinner. I never asked for it but it was greatly appreciated and definitely needed. He was so thoughtful and kind on my wedding day. I told him my biggest fear was that my guests wouldn’t be dancing and want to leave early and he made sure that guests were on their feet all night even during the very last song. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding and I’m so glad he was a part of my special day!

Perfect for Any Occasion!

We booked Derek through Bialek’s Music Agency a little over a year before our wedding. We had phone interviews with a couple other potential DJs, but we knew Derek was our best choice! He already had great reviews, and he was very easy to talk to and plan with for our Alice in Wonderland themed wedding. He played Disney theme park music during the cocktail hour and instrumental Disney during dinner. It was absolutely perfect! He made everything so easy for us, especially with his Online Event Planning website. We were able to enter all of our song requests (including ‘Do Not Plays’), our schedule, and other important information to be sent directly to him. He also took a couple of short videos of our reception for his Instagram which I have admittedly watched at least 50 times! I would highly recommend Derek for any occasion!

Amazing DJ and Wonderful Guy

My husband was VERY particular about the wedding music, so we needed to find a DJ who was flexible and receptive to instructions regarding the play list. We found Derek because he also DJ'd my sister's wedding (which was very fun, and everyone was on the dance floor the entire time). Derek was SO professional and service-oriented, clearly making his priority to ensure that our day ran exactly the way that we wanted it to regardless of whether it had to do with the music. He reviewed our timeline with us, asked specific questions about things that we did not highlight and offered suggestions. I was particularly worried about the timing of the ceremony processional song, and he specifically emailed me the version of the song, his plan for making sure that we hit certain time marks, and that this was exactly what I wanted. His style of DJ'ing was also perfect for us -- we wanted someone who was more in the background but definitely involved in the timeline and process, emcee'd, observed the crowd and adapted when needed. He was very easy to work with and communicated well with our wedding coordinator. We couldn't have been happier with Derek and highly recommend him!

An Amazing Wedding DJ!

What an amazing DJ! Derek was recommended to us by our wedding planner and he didn't disappoint. His online song selection guide was easy to use and we loved it because we really like so many different styles of music. He was very professional and on our wedding day, he made the flow of the reception work perfectly. Derek is the PERFECT wedding DJ!

My husband and I were beyond happy with Derek’s services. For preparation, his website made everything really simple! There’s a request list, a timeline template, and an entire form so he can know the details of the wedding party. There were a few songs I really wanted for the processionals that weren’t on his list, so he had me send him Amazon links for the songs so we could use them! :)

Leading up to the ceremony, Derek noticed I was getting flustered and took it upon himself to not only DJ, but coordinate as well. The timing and quality of everything was absolutely perfect.

Throughout the reception, he kept tabs to make sure I was ready for every occasion (father/daughter dance, cake-cutting, etc) and always had such a big, warm smile on his face!

If you want a stress-free, fun-filled wedding day, DJ Derek is the way to go! Thank you so much and I can’t wait to recommend you to everyone!!

One of our best vendors!

We booked DJ Derek after hearing him at another close friends wedding so the choice really was easy. He did a great job for them and an amazing job for us as well.

Our idea of what we wanted to hear was very different from theirs but he went out of his way to have multiple calls with us and walk us through his song selection software to make sure we had everything he wanted.

He also helped with formulating our timeline and during the party he did an awesome job or feeling the room and knowing when to get the party started and what songs to do it with. I would recommend Derek to anyone getting married in the areas he covered.

Derek was quick to respond to all of my many emails and so helpful. When I was stressed, worried or doubted something, he always reassured me that everything would be okay. And it was!! DJ Derek Romanoff is amazing! He was super responsive to our initial questions (honestly why we chose him, we wanted a DJ that wanted to be our DJ). He was fantastic the day of - to be honest we forget to include my husband's dad and significant other during introductions and when they lined up we panicked. Derek seamlessly added them to our introduction to the point nobody knew this happened. He had our friends dancing the entire night and everybody raved about how much fun they had. Derek is by far the best DJ I could have wished for! He was so helpful and responsive during the planning process, and has a website that makes it incredibly easy to listen to songs and pick them. We are so thankful that we had DJ Derek Romanoff as our wedding DJ. From the first time we met with Derek, we knew that he would pull together an amazing celebration for us. Derek has great attention to detail, an understanding of the crowd, and the perfect energy to set the mood for the evening. One of the many times I was amazed by Derek’s attention to detail happened during the father of the groom’s speech, where the lyrics of Forever Young were quoted, and then right after the speech concluded, Derek played that song! It made for a very special moment. I also appreciated how accommodating he was no only to the guests, but also to the other vendors. All of our guests got on the dance floor thanks to Derek and they stayed on the dance floor all night. We received numerous compliments from our guests on Derek’s work. Derek was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was always accessible by phone or email when we needed to check in prior to the wedding day and made sure to take all of our input into account. Derek was the DJ at my son Kent and daughter-in-law Erin's wedding. He was outstanding. He kept the party going with a great selection of music. He was excellent at keeping the ceremonies running on time. He was also attentive to detail. I had not spoken to Derek prior to the toast I made to couple. I was reading a version of the lyrics, "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart. By the time I had finished with reading the lyrics, Derek was playing Forever Young softly in the background. Bialek's was great super easy and responsive. They have a variety of DJs to chose from. We chose Derek romanoff who was excellent! He answered emails super quickly and was very thorough. He was able to provide great ideas for cocktail music. The online platform was very easy to use and helped provide popular lists for cake cutting etc. During the reception I wanted to make some changes to my list play list and it was super easy, he was very flexible. He read the crowd very well, when a song came on and a lot of people exited the dancefloor he seamlessly changed it! Definitely recommend this company and Derek.

Aside from his amazing skill of keeping the party going, Derek was a pleasure to plan with and had so many helpful tips. He also went above and beyond by driving my husband and I back to our hotel at the end of the wedding, when we realized we had no way to get back! All in all, DJ Derek is amazing, and you will not be disappointed if you have him at any event!

Derek was very helpful and worked with us while we were slacking in our planning of the music we wanted. We got our choices to him about 2 weeks before the wedding and he immediately went to work finding the exact songs and correct versions of everything we wanted played that day. We could not have been more satisfied with the deejaying service provided by Bialek’s Music/DJ Derek Romanoff. Leading up to the wedding day, Derek was extremely responsive and helpful in answering our questions. At our wedding, he played the exact right music to get the crowd dancing. We had guests of all ages on the dance floor — even those who don’t typically like to dance! I was also approached multiple times by guests (at the wedding and also post-wedding) who said they loved the music being played. We felt that Derek did a great job at reading the room in choosing the right music. He was very professional and flexible, and even played a few additional songs at the end of the night in response to our guests begging for more music! We were clear that we wanted a deejay whose main focus would be to pick the perfect music, rather than trying to be a bar-mitzvah-style-party-starter, and he fit that bill perfectly. In looking back at our wedding, we feel that the music and dancing were central parts of what made it the most perfect day. We could not have been more pleased and have only the highest of recommendations for Bialek’s Music/DJ Derek Romanoff!

Derek was great! He had a really easy platform to use to create playlists (and what not to play), and he was extremely responsive to all of my emails and questions. We saw Derek at our friends' wedding and knew we had to book him for ours too - Derek was perfect! From the planning leading up to the event, to the day of, I can't think of one thing Derek could have done better. We used him for our entire wedding day including pre-ceremony music, ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. For the planning, he sets you up with a website that lets you pick out songs for each part of the day and includes information about logistics for the wedding, so he's fully prepared. We had a meeting right after we booked him about a year out from our wedding to give our initial ideas, then another about a week before the wedding to go through the entire timeline and make sure there were no holes. He was great at finding all the songs we wanted. During our wedding, he was able to set up without me having to worry about anything. I literally didn't see him until I was walking down the isle which was nice to have one less thing to worry about as I was getting ready. We also had some rain at our outdoor ceremony, but he was willing and able to stick through it to make it work for us! When we were done with pictures and ready to start the bridal party introductions, he made sure to come out and meet with us and review the pronunciation of everyone's name and the order he should call them. Actually, the first thing he did was ask if we needed a drink, which my husband graciously accepted :) He was very professional and always catered to our needs. When my bridesmaids were trying to bustle up my train in the middle of the night, he swooped in with safety pins before my bridesmaids could even get to their bags to grab some. My ideal reception had people filling the dance floor for the entire night and Derek was able to make that happen. He was great about playing songs that worked with the crowd and, I heard afterwards, that he also stuck to our 'do not play' list and politely refused to play a song requested by someone. Derek is highly recommended!

Derek was an absolutely fantastic DJ. He was extremely responsive, helpful, and easy to work with. He made sure we had exactly what we needed leading up to the wedding and the day of. He was relaxed, professional, and completely on top of everything from the moment he arrived to set up. Not only was the music for the ceremony perfect, but he made the reception so much fun. We have had people tell us how much they enjoyed the dancing and music at our wedding for months after the fact. It truly was an awesome dance party and he even threw in colored lights which were not part of our package, but created such a fun atmosphere. The dance floor was packed with people all evening, from my youngest nieces and nephews to my husband's grandmother!
Derek is truly worth the investment for your wedding. He really creates a stress-free environment and he pays so much attention to detail - I felt completely at ease with him running the show. Can't recommend him highly enough!

Derek Romanoff (through Bialek's) was the DJ at our wedding reception, and he was great! We highly recommend him. Our planner had told us that, on top of being a superb DJ, Derek is professional and great with introductions and toasts. To be honest, we didn't really appreciate what that meant, but now that we've had our reception, we do. He handled toasts perfectly -- introducing us and our wedding party clearly and without taking any limelight for himself. And on the dance floor, his sense of what music to play to keep the crowd dancing was AWESOME! One of our top goals was to have a full dance floor, without songs that cause people to vacate and wait for the next song. That didn't happen, and we have heard from so many of our guests that they loved the music, and we definitely noticed that night. We and our guests had a blast! Derek read the crowd and the course of the evening perfectly. One more bonus -- both during dinner and for dancing, the noise level was great. We are so glad we had Derek as our DJ. He helped make our wedding day so happy, fun, and unforgettable.

Need a DJ for your wedding? LOOK NO FURTHER!!!
DJ Derek Romanoff was recommended to us by a friend of a friend. I am so grateful that I booked him for our wedding! He was very responsive - even when I was too busy to get back to him; he would always check in with me to see if there was anything he could do. He has a website where you can select songs that you want to have played at your wedding AND songs that you absolutely do not want to hear (Cotton Eye Joe!!!!). I had every intention to send him a list of songs to play, but I didn't budget my time very well and only ended up sending him the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to, and the Mother/Daughter & Mother/Son dances. Derek picked the rest of the music based off the energy of the crowd - and I couldn't have done a better job myself! Everyone had such a great time, and the dance floor was never empty. He is also extremely personable, and did a wonderful job with the bridal party introductions and making announcements throughout the evening. If you haven't booked a DJ yet, and you're considering booking Derek, DO IT! Don't wait, just book him! You will not regret it!

Derek was a pleasure to work with. He was easy to contact and very responsive to all our questions and concerns, and was able to reassure us that he'd be able to handle our last-minute acoustic concerns. He also had a website that allowed us to easily list songs as "Must Play," "Play if Possible" and "Don't Play." The website also allowed us to keep him updated of the wedding party list, how introductions were to be made, and many other logistical issues.

During the reception Derek fulfilled our top request: keep as many people on the dance floor for as long as possible. He was wonderful at reading the room and keeping the party going at the right vibe. He played all of the must-play songs and was able to use our "play if possible" songs to craft a playlist that worked for everyone.

We cannot recommend DJ Derek highly enough!

Derek was able to provide all the songs we requested. He played a good mix of music throughout the evening; we did not tell him what to play except for special songs/events. He was a good master of ceremony, keeping the wedding flowing smoothly. His website was easy to use and walked us through everything and reminded us of things we did not think about planning. Derek was very flexible and accommodating when our venue restricted the time in which he was able to set up. Derek was terrific! I recommend him with enthusiasm.

First, he was a great deejay and emcee. He allowed my now-wife and I lots of input concerning the songs he would play, and had a great sense for when to play them (/in what order). He was also terrific about communicating with guests; his announcements were clear and effective, without being too loud or pushy.

Second, Derek was extremely flexible and reliable. Whether our wedding was to be outdoors or indoors depended on the speed with which a storm moved in/out of DC. Derek worked with us to make our decision at the last possible moment; his flexibility and communicativeness made what could have been a very stressful contingency much more manageable. And, throughout the planning process, he was quick to respond to our questions (via phone and email), and ever patient as our preferences changed.

Derek is, in short, a consummate professional. You should hire him.

Derek Romanoff did such a great job deejaying at my first daughter's wedding that we asked him to DJ the next daughter's wedding a year later. He has a beautiful speaking voice, and served as the emcee for the whole wedding reception, introducing the wedding party and asking the bridal couple to dance their first dance. etc. But he never talks too much and makes sure that everyone gets up and dances. He will play any song you want, he even had the Steelers theme music (a favorite of the groom's dad) and can switch gears and play something else at the last minute. We all liked him very much and would recommend him for any event.

Derek was the absolutely perfect DJ. From planning to the night of the reception he was extremely helpful and accommodating. I loved how he checked with my husband and I before doing any of the dances and events at the reception to make sure we were ready to move onto the next thing. He also helped coordinate all of the vendors so everyone was on the same page. YAY DJ DEREK! Derek was AMAZING! He kept all of our guests on the floor all night long! He was also a total pleasure to work with! I told him I wanted people to dance all night long, but also spend dinner wanting to get onto the dance floor-sure enough several people said that they wanted to get up and dance during dinner, but the songs just keep getting better. From our very first phone call I knew that I had to have DJ Derek Romanoff be the DJ at my wedding! He was so easy to talk to and was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable- I knew I would have nothing to worry about with him as my DJ. During our wedding planning process, he was always attentive to my emails. I had so many questions which he answered in a very timely matter. I was constantly changing my mind on things and he was extremely flexible and patient with me. He even created a mash up song for my father and I to dance to. He was incredibly professional and always gave great advice and input! Derek's extensive expertise was extremely helpful, especially because I did not hire a wedding planner so I needed lots of advice and direction.

On the day of our wedding, Derek arrived hours early to set up. We had 3 different locations where we needed speakers because not only was Derek DJing our reception, he was doing our ceremony and cocktail hour as well. He was extremely organized and helped the day flow so nicely. He also provided us with beautiful uplighting and some dance floor lights which set the mood of the night! He was so incredibly friendly- numerous times he checked on us to make sure we were happy and having fun. My only music request was to play music that was fun and upbeat but also family friendly since we had a very mixed crowd. Derek did a phenomenal job selecting music that fit every age group and taste! All of our guests were out on the dance floor the entire night! Everyone told me that our wedding was the most fun they had ever had at a wedding and I know that I have Derek to thank for that!

Even now, we still have people telling us that our wedding was absolutely amazing and I know that Derek played a huge role in making it such a wonderful day! I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ!

My wife and I hired Derek for our wedding in May, 2014, after searching for and speaking with quite a few DJ/MC's. During our initial consultation, Derek was very professional and organized, particularly in explaining how he handles and sets up for weddings. He was also one of the most personable people we’d ever met. He made it clear he would go above and beyond to accommodate us on our wedding day. After meeting with him, we felt very confident he would be perfect. In the months leading up to our wedding day, he kept in touch with us and ironed out all of the details, including using an online service to help pick out music. During our wedding, he was very professional and managed the crowds very well. He was also personable and charismatic as our MC. He incorporated our song selections into a perfect mix during the different parts of our reception. We even had a number of people compliment his DJ-ing and ask for his number for future weddings. As expected, he was also incredibly accommodating. He checked in with us periodically, and he was happy to help when we made adjustments during the reception to our timeline and song selections. We were extremely happy we went with Derek, and we would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an excellent, professional and personable DJ.

Derek was recommended by our venue, and it was easy to see why -- he's incredibly nice and positive, professional, responsive (he would respond to emails promptly and thoroughly, and was happy to offer extra advice/suggestions when asked), and completely on top of all logistics. DJ Derek is the absolute best! He did such a fantastic job DJing our ceremony and reception. We got a lot of compliments on the music played during both. He has a fabulous online tool where you can request music and make notes for specific songs.

Derek basically planned our entire reception. We mapped everything out in one 45 minute phone call about 4 weeks before the wedding. During the reception Derek would check on us to see when were ready to do the next event (cake cutting, garter/bouquet toss, etc).

We could not be happier with the DJ services at our wedding. We booked Derek through Bialek's Music. They were incredibly responsive and efficient. 5 stars all around!!

We had an amazing experience with DJ Derek Romanoff at our 8/17/13 wedding. I cannot thank him enough for helping make our wedding such a success. From our first phone call to Derek, he was so polite and responsive, always getting back to me within 24 hours or less. We had many special requests for our wedding, as my father was going to be singing live for our first dance, which Derek willingly accommodated without hesitation. His online planning tool was easy to use and a great way to establish what songs we did and did not want to hear. Our guests raved about the music!!! Our dance floor was packed from the moment people finished their meals, until the final song played. We kept hearing how much fun everyone had, which a testament to DJ Derek’s ability to read to crowd and play songs that will keep the energy level high. Derek Romanoff was an AWESOME DJ for our June 15, 2013 wedding at the Briar Patch Bed and Breakfast!! We had SO MANY compliments on the music that he played. Derek was also more affordable than most of the other DJ's that I contacted. Derek has an awesome dance lighting package that we ended up using, and I must say it is well worth the money! I can't wait to see the rest of our wedding photos - the lighting package really is awesome!

I wanted our guests to feel like they were at a great party/celebration, and Derek did a great job of helping us accomplish that. He was a great MC throughout the whole wedding, was on time (or early) to everything from our first meeting and to the day of. He is also quick to respond to email, which was VERY important to me as a bride!

Derek had a set up for the Outdoor Ceremony, a set up for the indoor/outdoor cocktail hour, and of course his large reception (indoor) set up. He didn't charge extra for having numerous set-ups - but just based the cost on the amount of hours that he would be working. All three of the set-ups had the perfect volume depending on their location, and I thought that Derek did a great job determining which song choices to play (I had given him a large request list) and in what order - by reading our crowd. It seemed like he enjoyed himself at our wedding too!! :)

There were a couple of confusing moments (for him) as I had accidentally put down two different song choices for cake cutting, and also for the garter toss. During the reception he asked me what song I wanted for each and it all ended up flawless. He is SO great about timing for the crowd and also knowing when to make any modifications to the timeline based on what the bride and groom are doing. I wholeheartedly recommend Derek Romanoff and couldn't imagine having a different DJ for our wedding. My husband and I are both so happy with him and our families are too. Thanks so much Derek! Derek was wonderful! We hired him for ceremony sound and DJ for the rest of our reception. He was extremely responsive and flexible with our plans over email, and was courteous and responsible to us and all of our guests during the wedding. He has top of the line equipment that really got the job done for our outdoor ceremony and unique indoor reception setting. Definitely recommend him!

Derek came recommended to us by our reception venue director and we are so happy we went with him. We were looking for a DJ that could get everyone dancing, but we did not want someone that was really over the top and obnoxious lol (we all know we've seen DJ's like that!). Derek is incredibly professional and classy- he played great music that got everyone on the dance floor but more importantly he helped run our wedding from start to finish. He would find us about 5 minutes before we had to be introduced, or before someone had to give their speech, or when we had to cut the cake, etc. and warn us that its about that time- and then he'd ask if we'd like to delay something for a few more minutes . I don't know what we would have done without him! He also has a great "announcers" voice when he introduced each event. Derek also helped us plan out the evening beforehand by putting together a draft schedule for the evening and letting us know when people typically do things (which was incredibly helpful for me because we didn't have a wedding planner). And he lets you set up a playlist online of songs that you want played and he can figure out when it would be most appropriate to play everything. I would recommend him to anyone with an upcoming wedding or event!

DJ Derek did a fantastic job at our wedding. He ensured that everything ran smoothly, kept the dance floor fun, and was incredibly attentive. He helped to make our reception a truly wonderful experience. Several of our guests said that DJ Derek was one of the best DJs they had seen.

Also, setting up our wedding music list and event schedule was easy via the website that Derek set up for us. Derek was easy to contact and took care of special request music without a problem.

DJ Derek helped to make our wedding reception an amazing and memorable night! He was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process, always professional and always available via phone or email to answer questions. His online planning tool was great and allowed us to give play lists as well as a timeline of events. We only provided a few songs in order to give Derek a sense of the music we wanted and he did an amazing job in choosing great songs to keep everyone dancing! He kept us on track in terms of our timeline while also remaining flexible to meet our needs. Overall, DJ Derek Romanoff was a wonderful additional to our wedding reception and I would recommend him to everyone!

My now-husband and I started searching for our wedding DJ by reading reviews on Weddingwire (of course haha)...and Derek was one of the first people that we contacted. While other DJ’s took a while to respond to any of our inquiries, and tried to push lighting packages on us (I suffer from vertigo and migraines, so a bunch of flashing lights are a big no-no for me), Derek was always incredibly gracious, responsive, courteous, and respectful of our wishes and what we were looking for. He was always quick to follow-up, but was never pushy...and is just an all-around nice guy who is great to work with!

He’s completely organized (whereas a lot of the other DJ’s we talked to before we booked Derek didn’t seem to be...and seemed a bit flaky), and his online song selection and planning process was incredibly easy to use! He was always available if we had any questions, or needed his input on anything. We had to make a last minute change the day before our ceremony (we had to move it inside on account of the chilly temperatures and wind), and so we needed Derek to set up earlier than we had previously discussed...he immediately got back to me, and told me it was no problem, and he worked with me on my new schedule...I can’t tell you what a relief that was!

For someone who typically worries about everything, it was very refreshing to know that I didn’t have to worry at all about how the music would be handled for our reception – I trusted Derek implicitly, and knew that everything would be perfect! I highly recommend Derek, and really cannot say enough good things about our experience with him. He truly did an amazing job in helping to make our wedding day everything we ever dreamed it could be! Thank you again for everything, Derek!

I just wanted to thank you for the amazing time that I had and which you made possible by doing an outstanding job!!! All of my friends are talking about you, how you read the crowd and how you kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night and had it all flowing so nicely. I mean, just wow. I was at several weddings and it was never this fun and sometimes there was some gaps between songs... but you made it superb! I know that Karen and Payton were equally impressed with you, and I am sure they will be recommending you to their clients. Derek is simply the best DJ anyone could ever ask for. He is totally organised and very reliable and even provides helpful timelines and works with other vendors to make sure everyone is on the same schedule. On our wedding day he acted as an MC as well as a DJ which was very helpful. He wears a lovely Tux and has a great voice for MC announcements. The quality of his equipment is great and in terms of service, he is excellent. For example, he was comfortable with our last minute request to introduce the bride and groom before our speeches and when the heavens opened and our outdoor dancing set-up became problematic, he was swift to move his DJ table and speakers so we could proceed with our first dance elsewhere. He is able to judge the mood of the crowd well and put together a really great song selection to keep the party going! Also, my parents were touched that he added a few Hindi songs as we are Indian and the guests all loved it. I highly recommend Derek and know that if I ever need a DJ again, it will always be him!

Derek was absolutely awesome! Through out the planning stage, he was incredibly professional - easy to work with and very timely with responses. His online song selection program was also really cool - it made it easy for us to select songs for our must plays. Through out the night, he did a wonderful job. The most important thing was that the dance floor stay packed all night long and boy did he deliver! Awesome DJ.

Absolutely amazing. Derek went above and beyond- our wedding was the day of the power outages and he worked with the site coordinator, the caterer and my point person to help get generators and get the show on the road.
Recommended to us from a high school friend- we have no doubts that we made the right decision with our DJ.

DJ Derek Ramanoff had an excellent quality of service combined with exceptional quality of hardware and software that he used at our event.

One thing I would recommend updating is the website in which the songs are entered into. This could be done by providing a help file explaining exactly how to use the program as it did not seem to be the most user friendly program.

I loved Derek when I saw him at a friend's wedding and decided that I had to have him given that he gave the wedding a classy feel while using Disney music as the bride requested! Derek was organized throughout the whole process; my husband and I loved his online planning sheets that were easy to fill out and helped us coordinate ourselves as we didn't have a wedding planner/coordinator. He was responsive to e-mails and phone calls! He helped immensely when I had my bridal freak out moment and provided information that only an experienced person in the industry could provide!

The day of the wedding, Derek was SOOO amazing! He worked well with all of the other vendors and professional staff. He helped make my wedding night absolutely magical! The wedding probably would not have been such a success if it wasn't for Derek!!! His lighting set-up is definitely a crowd pleaser both for adults and the 15 young children we had; definitely worth it!! His music kept going all night long until my husband and I called it quits with our bridal party!

Derek was a delight to work with and his music was fun, professional, and exactly what we wanted! We met with Derek to go over all the details of our wedding and reception (he did the music for the entire event, from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner to dancing). He provided a lot of good advice, answered all our questions, and provided a lot of options for us to choose from. After we signed a contract with him, Derek set up an online planning tool for us. We could plan out the day hour by hour, specify must-play and do-not-play songs, list announcements to be made, etc. It made planning our event music so simple, and Derek implemented our plan perfectly. I highly recommend Derek for all wedding music needs!

Derek was an awesome choice for our DJ. I picked him because other reviewers here said how great he was at mixing music styles... they were so right! He also blended our music selections into the night smoothly. On top of that he was an excellent DJ- he communicated well with us and our venue, and kept the party going through dinner, the reception games (like the garter/bouquet toss, etc), and dancing to the end. Everyone- friends *and* relatives- raved about how much fun they had, and I don't think our wedding would have been as amazing without Derek as our DJ. Even the bar manager at our venue (who sees tons of weddings every year) told us he was one of the best DJs he's ever seen come through. I would highly recommend anyone hire Derek Romanoff as their DJ, for any event really.

I can't say enough good things about Derek! He was FANTASTIC! We never met him in person before our event and many of our friends thought we were crazy, but we definitely made the right choice. Derek did everything he could to meet our requests and be flexible and available. We had some issues with our location letting him in at the time he needed to get there without walking through the ceremony but he accommodated and made it work without it costing us too much extra. He always responded to emails within 24 hours (usually even less than that!) and was always available on the phone. It felt like he knew us with the music he chose even though he didn't know us and kept people on the floor dancing ALL night! You won't be disappointed if you use Derek!

I cannot say enough great things about Derek Romanoff. We first met him when he deejayed my sister's wedding in June 2010 and we knew as soon as we were engaged that Derek was one of the first vendors we needed to contact.

His energy is incredible. He really knows how to keep a dance floor packed. He is incredibly professional and his appearance is never short of impeccable. He has the perfect amount of personality and worked with our coordinator to make the timeline and flow of the evening flawless.

His online planning service made selecting our music easy and painless. We gave him a small list of songs that we wanted to hear during different portions of the evening (cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing) and he filled in the rest. He has an amazing talent for playing what the people want to hear and keeping the guests entertained.

I really just cannot say in words how happy we were with our wedding and how big of an impact Derek had on that outcome. We have recommended him to several friends, who have hired him happily, and will continue to spread the word about what an amazing DJ (and person) Derek is.

We hired Derek on the recommendation of a friend and an endorsement from the woman who manages the DAR - they were both so positive we didn't even look at other DJs when he said he was free. And we were definitely not disappointed.

Derek was extremely responsive over email and just has such a positive, organised air about him that we were confident from the beginning. We met him in person a few weeks before the wedding and came away with the same impression. He knows his music and is great with gauging the mood (the dance floor never emptied once we started) but he is also really flexible and responsive to what we were looking for. It felt like he coordinated the wedding more than our day-of coordinator - he was always on top of the schedule and did a great job of announcing things - never coming off as cheesy.

Overall we LOVED Derek and if there was only one vendor we could keep in the whole wedding it would probably be him.

Our venue (the DAR) recommended Dereck to us when we asked for DJ recommendations and we can't speak highly enough about him. He was AWESOME, and everyone commented on how professional he was. Some DJs try to be more of an MC and steal the show or are super cheesy, not Dereck. He was so friendly and professional. Before any of the big events (cake cutting, first dance, etc,) he would make sure that now was an ok time for it. We gave him some song requests and a do not play list in advance and he did an amazing job making sure that our songs were played and keeping a good mix of music going to keep everyone on the dance floor.
Dereck, we can't thank you enough for being a part of our day!!

DJ Derek made our Wedding just incredible! He is extremely professional and kept everyone of our 175 guests on the dance floor all night!!! Derek is really the best. He comes highly recommended and there was no doubt why. He's professional, presentable (and yet doesn't make himself obvious), flexible, charming, talented, and resourceful. He knows DC venues (and has the venue managers wrapped around his finger). He knows music (what's hot and what you like). He knows technology (has the latest tech, regularly tests his equipment, knows how to set up to enhance audio quality, is connected wirelessly to music databases to instantly access requests).

Admittedly, I may have chosen a band in an ideal world. But my venue preferred a DJ, a DJ gives more flexibility regarding space within the venue and weather conditions, and -- well -- a DJ is a HUGE money saver. So we decided after all on a DJ, and on Derek. And it was a great decision. Based on the event a big band may have been a waste anyway. And what we got was a smooth MC, great tunes, a charmer to keep everyone entertained. And yet he was able to keep himself out of the spotlight. Thanks to him, things ran fluidly timeline-wise and there was both order and fun!

Derek Romanoff just DJed our daughters wedding on 6/11/2011. He was fantastic. From the planning to the entire master of ceremony he had the kept entire crowd happy from cocktail hour till the end. He has a wonderful planning site and I didnt have to worry about a thing. He was excellent. The DJ is so important at weddings and Derek knows how to read the crowd. We had a short planned wedding so no real time to ponder over our pick for a DJ. We had some friends give recommendations but they were not either available or could not come to Baltimore. We found Bialek's Music website and did a quick review of their DJ's. Derek Romanoff seemed to fit the bill from his profile and honestly we hit the lottery with our choice. He was very professional and accommodating to all of our requests. We didn't give much guidance since we went to the next step of planning the wedding but it wasn't needed. Honestly, not just saying this because it was our wedding, I have never seen the dinner seats empty once the music started. He kept everyone on the dance floor with a perfect mix of music. We still get compliments to this day how amazing our wedding was and I can say that a lot has to do with Derek's performance that evening. I can not recommend him enough. We were so impressed we gave him a nice tip afterward! Good luck with your decision making and hope this helps.

Derek was the consummate professional in every imaginable way. Whether it was our frequent conversations via phone and email leading up to our wedding or his ability to get multiple generations enjoying themselves on the dance floor the day of our celebration, his attention to detail made us feel at ease and left us with one service item we knew would help make our wedding day perfect.
