  Wonderful in every way

  Janet was so wonderful to work with for my wedding flower needs! She was so responsive with every email and even reached out to me numerous amounts of times to make sure she had every detail that she needed. She did a beautiful job whil staying right within the budget I gave her. I couldn't have asked for a better florist for our wedding!

  Wedding at Sunday River

  One thing i was most nervous about with planning my wedding was flowers. I had no clue what to do or where to begin. Janet was AMAZING. She helped me every step of the way, and her fast responses were greatly appreciated. We had to order more flowers last minute because of a table amount change and Janet was awesome through the whole thing and got us exactly what we wanted. The end result was stunning and i could not have been any happier with the work that Janet did. I 100 percent recommend her!

  Kind, Gifted, Beauftiful!

  I cannot say enough about how wonderful Ms. Janet is! She truly cares about her craft, and has a wonderful eye for design and colour. After sending her some idea pictures and an idea colour scheme, she came up with EXACTLY what I had in mind; even if I couldn't put it into words myself! The flowers were fresh and colourful, and fit in perfectly with our Nordic/rustic theme. Not only that, but she also brought some extra flowers for my hair too!
  Working on a specific budget, she was most attentive and ensured that we had the upmost quality, while also respecting the boundary we set.
  On top of the flowers, she also gave us the chance to purchase centerpiece boxes. Handmade, carved with our names and a picture of Maine! Wonderful pieces, they made excellent gifts for our friends and family, and we now have one as well on our mantel!
  Superbly accommodating and so kind, Ms. Janet put up with my husband's and I's very strange shiftwork schedules as we planned. Not only that, but when she was in town for a convention, she actually offered to meet with us in person! That absolutely floored me!
  For the wedding day itself, she made sure that there was literally no stress. She and her wonderful husband came and set everything up (as well as a beautiful arch!)
  All in all, unmatched professionalism, design, and authentic caring! I cannot recommend Ms. Janet enough!

  Janet nailed it!!

  I am very particular about flowers and so I had very high expectations for Janet. She absolutely EXCEEDED everything and made by day even more beautiful!! She was very conscientious about budget, she took suggestions very graciously added her professional opinions without conflict with my fairly dominant personality:). She was wonderful to work with...very timely and professional yet extremely personable and sweet! I will add that I feel her website does not do her artistic design justice! She is creative, extremely knowledgeable about flowers and wedding tips and just a joy to work with!! Janet is an absolute gem and a very calming person on a very stressful day.

  October 20th 2018 Wedding

  I cannot say enough good things about Designs Florist by Janet Black. She was wonderful to work with.She created a beautiful bridal bouquet and bridesmaids flowers for her. She also created the most beautiful white pumpkin centerpieces for the reception, we received so many compliments on them from the wedding guests.

  Sunday River, Maine wedding

  We couldn’t have been more pleased with the florals at our daughter’s wedding! Janet met with us personally several months prior to the wedding, asked for our thoughts about color, design, preferred style, and any favorite flowers we might wish to have. When we discussed table centerpieces, we thought they would be arranged in glass bowls, but Janet offered to have beautiful silver-gray wooden boxes made with the couple’s names and wedding date displayed on each one. They were stunning and so perfect for a “mountain chic” wedding!! Whenever we had questions of Janet, she was immediately responsive and receptive. We also appreciated that she was very conscious of our stated budget and was more than willing to work within it, all the while creating the most stunning florals everywhere on the property! Janet is a true artist and a pleasure to work with. She will create the perfect backdrop for your wedding day and we highly recommend her!

  Absolutely Beautiful!

  Janet was amazing. I explained to her what I wanted and she nailed it. Everyone was blown away by how beautiful my bouquets, centerpieces and wedding arch were. Including me! Janet took time to talk with me on the phone, in person and through email to make my day absolutely perfect. She asked all the right questions and made some suggestions that I’m happy I took! My flowers were one of my favorite parts of my wedding, and I can’t thank Janet enough. Highly recommend!!

  Pleasure to work with

  Janet did such a wonderful job with all of our flowers and with being our day of coordinator. I loved my bouquet. She even made some great halos for our flower girls. We were shooting for a small low key backyard wedding and before we knew it things just kept getting fancier. Janet was there to organize it all and make sure our day went smooth. Her prices were extremely reasonable too. Everyone loved her and worked extremely well with all of our vendors. Our day would of been a whirlwind without her! My husband and I highly recommend her.

  Above and Beyond - gorgeous flowers, amazing service

  Janet is PHENOMENAL. She listened to every detail and went over things with me many times to ensure she would make all my dreams come true. And boy did she ever! Her flowers are STELLAR. Everything, from the absolutely stunning bouquet she made for me to the wrist corsages, to the swags, arrangements, cake flowers, shepherd's hooks, EVERYTHING was absolutely divine and exactly what I wanted. Not only were her talents profusely beautiful, the value was unreal. I could not speak more highly of her talents and execution. She knocked it outta the park for us. Flowers at my wedding was one area I wanted to be perfect and lush. Janet not only exceeded my expectations, she wowed everyone with the displays. I could not be happier. And she did all this with very short notice - we only began planning our wedding 2-1/2 months before!! She was like my fairy godmother, and I have told her this. She had my back. I cannot imagine another florist who would have even matched her, and that is the truth. You will be forever grateful if you pick her for your special day. What a woman!!

Janet made sure each detail was picture perfect and we were so pleased with her cheerfulness & how she was very attentive to us and our guests. We would recommend her to anyone planning a wedding. When I asked her to incorporate shiitake mushrooms from my family's farm in the wedding bouquet, she was more than up for the challenge and ended up making me the most breathtaking bouquet ever!   We hired Janet as our florist for our mountaintop wedding this past weekend and she exceeded my expectations. She was so patient with me leading up to the day as I kept making changes up until a week before. When the day came she was so helpful and worked around my schedule. We had asked for wildflower bouquets and themed flowers and what she put together was so much more beautiful than anything I had imagined or showed her in my inspiration pictures She is incredibly creative and made the space feel warm and full.
  
  In addition she is also very sweet and went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed. I very highly recommend hiring Janet.

  We hired Janet as our florist for our mountaintop wedding this past weekend and she exceeded my expectations. She was so patient with me leading up to the day as I kept making changes up until a week before. When the day came she was so helpful and worked around my schedule.   Janet made our wedding day!! Her work is absoultly breathtaking. Her dedication throughout the planning process was a key part to our day. Janet took in all the details and nailed it! All of my flowers were stunning.

  Janet just completed the flower arrangements for my son's wedding. I was honored that my daughter-in-law allowed me to help her decorate the wedding venue..Skiesta...which allowed me to conult with Janet who was in Florida at the time...despite being that far away she responded to my emails promptly, pleasantly and professionally...and even encouraged my participation...her designs were flawless...she listened to our ideas and made my D-I-L's vision a reality...it is very apparent that this is truly a passion for her..and her attention to detail shows that she wants to make each event a reflection of the couple....she is a joy to work with and very considerate of budgets and timelines..I would recommend her to all in her area..the pleasure was truly mine..thanx

She was extremely responsive (I sent many many emails of Pinterest ideas) and I was amazed by her pure enthusiasm for what she does- which is an art! She made the most beautiful center pieces and decorated our Ceremony arch perfectly with a stunning arrangement of airy flowers. My bridal bouquet was also gorgeous and will be a memory I will cherish. I could not have been more happy with what she created for us and she was FAR more reasonable than other florists we recived quotes from. She is also just so nice! Thank you Janet!

  Janet did a wonderful job with the Flowers for my daughters wedding as well as decorating the Grand Summit Ballroom with chair covers and bows and lighted birch tree's. She made the room look extremely elegant. She was great to work with and very accommodating! I would highly recommend Janet for your wedding!

  Janet was absolutely so amazing to work with! We used a few of her birch trees that made the room look amazing and we also used her birch arbor that was gorgeous and perfect for us! I would highly recommend her for any type wedding, especially near Sunday River. She made our mountain themed wedding perfect!
