Amazing Experience Working with Dawn

We worked with Dawn for our engagement photo shoot and our reception photography and videography. She was so great to work with. She was on time and punctual for all events (and, our engagement photo shoot started at 5:30 AM in Central Park :)). She made us feel extremely comfortable; it was easy to take our photos with her. We especially appreciated her practiced skills at crowd management for large group photos. Our engagement photos looked great, and we can’t wait to see the wedding photos. If you have the chance to work with Dawn, we highly recommend it!

a stellar photographer who checks all the boxes!

Dawn is a true professional and while photography is her craft, her customer service skills are unparalleled. What she offers is a much needed sigh of relief for brides like myself who may be overwhelmed with the wedding planning process.
For full disclosure, we just finished the engagement session with Dawn and she hasn't shot my wedding yet but I have the upmost confidence in her expertise. Her photo albums stand out because of her eye for candid shots, something she probably excels in because of her genuineness as a person.

Something Dawn said during our initial convo really stuck with me, which is that these wedding photos and albums can become family heirlooms. If mine do, I have Dawn Joseph Photography to thank for being the individuals behind the camera.

A pleasure to work with and perfect photos

Highly recommend Dawn! We used her for our engagement and wedding photos and we are behind happy. She was very prompt to respond to questions. Loved my wedding photos and video!

I got married in September 2019 and had two ceremonies in one day (hindu ceremony and non-denominational). It was a long day and I was very stressed about fitting everything in (particularly all the photos I wanted!). Dawn and her team were so efficient and flexible. They somehow managed to get all the photos I wanted and more! Dawn thought of all the different combinations of family/friends that I hadn't even put on my list. The photos were beautiful and included so many important moments. The video from Saajan was also amazing and had so many details from throughout the day! I would definitely recommend this team to others!!!

Thank you, Dawn!

My husband and I spoke with a lot of photographers when we were selecting our vendors and the thing that stood out to us about Dawn was that she was the only one who asked us how we met rather than immediately jumping into a sales pitch. I felt that she genuinely cared about building a relationship with us as potential clients, which is important considering the huge role she would be playing in the most special day of our lives. Dawn was always open to any questions we had along the way. When it came time to schedule our engagement photos, Dawn was flexible and understanding when schedules shifted or weather was less than ideal. Dawn's assistant, Ashlyn, was also fantastic to work with on our wedding day. She was quick to jump in and adjust my dress or veil to get the perfect shot and she consistently noticed when my husband or myself would be speaking with a group of people during the reception and was QUICK to get a group shot with all of us- that meant a lot to us. Not only is Dawn and her team great to work with, but she is also a true artist. Her work is outstanding and really speaks for itself. Our engagement photos turned out better than I could have imagined - I am sure our wedding photos will not disappoint either! Thank you, Dawn, for being a part of our wedding day!

The best EVER

I am only taking time to write this review because I am looking at my wedding pictures with friends and family crying tars of happiness at how the most amazing my day was captured. Every moment of my special day was highlighted in the photographs. From getting ready, to my dance with my dad, even the details like my grandmothers necklace that was passed down through generations. The team was timely, accommodating, and just a pleasure to work with. I would have gladly paid them double for the work they did. I highly recommend them to everyone I know.

Beyond Awesome

I have never been photographed professionally and if this is what I can come to expect sign me up!! Ashlyn is sweet, organized and a natural talent. It takes a lot to impress me so when Dawn was not available to cover my day she suggested I give Ashlyn a shot. I was skeptical and didn't think I would end up going through it. I wanted the studio head and owner! So I went with Ashlyn, Dawn was in the office so we spoke with her briefly. Dawn was totally knowledgeable and Ashlyns work spoke for itself. The best!

Deciding to hire Dawn for my wedding day was the best decision my husband and I could have made! Even before our wedding day she was very responsive and in constant contact with us asking questions and making sure she had a full grasp of what we wanted; and on the wedding day she did not disappoint! Every picture request that was sent to her was completed, and her unique and creative photoshoots were incredible and it was so easy to work with her and her crew! My bridesmaids were stunned and amazed by how attentive to details she was and how she took control of a hectic day and made it so simple, easy and stress free!
Dawn, thank you so much for making our day so easy and perfect, and going well beyond all expectations!! We can not wait to see all the amazing pictures and finish product!

Dawn and her team are totally amazing!

I saw countless portfolios labored for many months and almost came close to booking another photographer. Just before I signed with the other photographer, I went to a best friend’s wedding where Dawn was a photographer. Long story short, I called her and booked her the following week. Its one thing to sit and consult with someone but to watch a team work, get through family formals in 15 minutes sounds unbelievable till you see it. I couldn’t be happier with my choice. Outstanding wedding photo artistry

When I met Ashlyn I immediately knew she was the one. She was organized, sweet and an amazing artist. Our journey with Dawn as our wedding photographer started years ago when we first met her as the photographer at my sister-in-law’s wedding. We had already seen the stunning engagement photos of course, but we saw first-hand throughout their big day how wonderful she was to work with as my now husband and I were both in the bridal party. After seeing the outstanding photos come back yet again, I knew we had to hire Dawn whenever the time came! Cut to this past May and I can easily say that choosing Dawn and her team was a no brainer, and the easiest decision we had to make during the planning process. They were an absolute joy to work with. Dawn was punctual, calming, funny, and put everyone at ease throughout the day. We never felt rushed or too posed, and Dawn took the time to make sure we were always comfortable. My husband is not a fan of having his picture taken and you would have never guessed it based on the endearing shots she got of him throughout the day. First my husband and I would like to thank you Dawn and your team for beautifully capturing every special moment from our engagement photos to our wedding day/night. We are beyond in love with our photos & video and are so grateful for everything you have done to ensure not a single detail was missed!
From the beginning, we met Dawn at her studio and when we got there she sat us down to just talk and get to know us rather than jumping right to booking a photographer. We really liked that she wanted to know who we were and what our visions were for our special day. She was so welcoming, calm, easy going; we felt an instant connection and knew she would be the perfect person to photograph this special time in our lives. We were both nervous about being in front of a camera and knew Dawn would make being photographed effortless and comfortable for us.
She drove out to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens to take our engagement photos and stayed as long as we needed to, to make sure we had gotten a wide variety of photos to use for our save the dates. We had such a great time during this session and the photos were gorgeous we were so excited for our wedding day to see how those photos would turn out.
Come wedding day Dawn and her team did not disappoint! They even put up with our large family and wedding party in sunny, 90 degree and made sure every photo we wanted was captured. From portrait to friends and family, first dances, speeches, details and wedding cake, not one shot was missed! We are so grateful to have these gorgeous images for the rest of our lives. Dawn! What can we say? Our officiant put it best when she called Dawn a “joy-seeker” because that is really what she is.

From day 1, she was a pleasure to work with – responsive and receptive. She made us feel at ease from the second we met her (after a couple of phone calls) for our engagement photos and really made the session comfortable and enjoyable (which says A LOT as we really aren’t too into staged photos and never envisioned having an engagement session!).

Day of the wedding Dawn was there before call-time and ready to get started. She is so professional, even keeled, easy-going and fun. She has a natural and discreet way of taking charge and keeping things moving, but also going with the flow. There was a bat mitzvah going on in the afternoon at our venue, and Dawn did everything in her power to make sure there was no interference with our photos, and she succeeded. She was also able to make us laugh and help us enjoy the little moments throughout the day.

Aside from Dawn’s personality, her talent is truly unbeatable. Her second shooter, who photographed the groomsmen getting ready, was also AWESOME, talented and a pleasure to spend the day with.

Dawn’s photos have such a softness and romance, and she captured everything we wished for and more. Going through the pictures in our gallery, we in awe of the moments she caught on camera – every photo is emanating with happiness and it was so special to be able to relive our day through her lens. We really don’t know how we are going to narrow down the selection for our album. If 6 stars were an option, we’d give them without any hesitation.

When my husband and I met Dawn for the first time, we knew she would be a perfect match to be our photographer for our wedding day. She is an amazing professional and totally understands how to manage your time throughout your wedding day so you don't miss any of your special moments. My wedding was on November 11, 2017 - and I had actually booked a photographer/videographer in December of 2016. I paid my deposit and after a few weeks i started to feel really bad about it - it gave me a very uneasy feeling in my stomach everytime I thought about it - and then the more uneasy I felt - the more I thought about it to the point I couldn't sleep it worried me they would ruin my photos - they just didn't seem to be listening and I was allured by the price of their package. I went with my gut, against everyone's advice in the summer - I cancelled my contract, swallowed my deposit, and started my search again.
I found Dawn online, and was IN LOVE with her portfolio - and I didn't really think she had my date available - but she did! I snached her up quickly before anyone else got to! We met with Dawn for the first time only a few short weeks before our wedding and we were in love with her. She really seemed to care about the details of our wedding, and that was important because I cared so much about all the small details of my wedding. We talked for a few hours and really felt like she was the perfect match for us.
She showed up the morning of my wedding with her assistant Ashlyn. It was very important for us to have 2 photographers because we have 2 brides to focus on. Dawn was with me, and answered a lot of my questions about how things would go and all the wedding traditions. She such a pleasure to work with! and we had now booked separate photo and video companies - and they worked together like true professionals! you would swear the way they worked they'd be working for the same company.

Dawn is everything and anything you can wish for in a wedding photographer! She was very responsive and easy to share ideas with. She and her assistant photographer Ashely came on time for our wedding and were very professional thoughout the whole event. I was really nervous and a bit stressed on the wedding day, but as soon as Dawn arrived and started taking picture, I started to lighten up and become more excited than worried thanks to her comforting and energetic nature. I found Dawn through wedding wire and instantly fell in love with her work featured online. Her attention to detail and romantic feel in her photos is what really set her apart for me. Her response time was within an hour of me inquiring about her rates and availability. I had a chance to meet her in her studio in Ridgewood and I knew right away that I wanted to work with her. She really wanted to know more about the vision that I had for my wedding in addition to my story with my fiance. Throughout the entire process, she was incredibly easy to communicate with. I rarely had to wait longer than a day to hear back from her. She was also very flexible, as I had to change my original wedding date due to some unforseen circumstances, in addition to my engagement shoot. Our engagement shoot started around 6:30 AM (yes.. AM), but my fiance and I were so pleased with how the photos turned out. She had no problem including our dog Clooney in our engagement shoot. On the day of my wedding, it rained the ENTIRE day, and we were running a little behind schedule, but Dawn made everything happen within the limited time that we had for a 'first look' and formal family photos. Everyone was extremely impressed by how professional she was and how easily she was able to get the photos we needed. I am looking forward to seeing how the photos turned out and would absolutely recommend her to anyone still looking for a photographer. You won't regret it!

Dawn the first day we sat down to discuss my wedding you were just as excited as I was. This instantly made me delighted with joy. You have so much passion in what you do and it shows immediately. You have an outstanding personality, helping those you capture feel so comfortable in the most uncomfortable situations. I remember the mistake we made not hiring you as our photographer for our initial engagement session, oh my were we wrong. At the last minute I reached out to Dawn to be the photographer on our second session because we weren't particularly satisfied with the original photos taken with another photographer. She accommodated us very quickly considering we were close to our deadline to sending out our save the dates. Our photos came back and they were fierce just as we wanted. We hired Dawn Photography to capture our traditional nigerian engagement and wedding day. She was the perfect choice for this most joyous time in our lives. The day of the wedding day she worked very swiftly on our timeline. There moments were behind due to of course the process all brides go through of getting ready. She made sure not to stress me about the time and ensured that we were perfect on timing for my first look. Dealing with family member and arranging people for photos can take quite some time especially dealing with different personalities, but of course this was nothing for Dawn and her team. She was extremely professional in all aspects of the day. She captured all my pivotal moments I can now look back and absolutely adore. Dawnnnnnnn!!! Dawn is absolutely genius and amazing! From the engagement pictures to the wedding day she literally saved the day each time I worked with her. My engagement pictures were in October at a winery. I didn’t go see the winery beforehand and when we got there it was barren. It was not lush and green like I imagined. Dawn did not panic, but instead we got in the car and drove around until we found beautiful fields to take pictures in. It wound up being so much fun, and the pictures were absolutely stunning.

The day of the wedding my venue decided to replace the carpet in the room we were getting married in and it took longer than expected. I was obviously freaking out because it was pouring rain and I only had that room to take pictures in. We had to do all our group photos with people jack hammering a carpet together while trying to coordinate 10 groomsmen & 8 Bridesmaid’s for photos. THANK GOD Dawn is a genius because she was able to shout and signal to all of us exactly what she needed to get the shots because it was so loud we could barely communicate. She was my ring leader and my director. She kept me calm & validated. The pictures blew me away! They’re absolutely beautiful! Many people have commented that they’re some of the best photos they’ve ever seen. She is not only an amazing photographer but an amazing person. I feel so blessed & fortunate that she was able to capture the most special times in my life in such a beautiful way.

Dawn was an amazing photographer and so wonderful and professional to work with!! She made our day so much fun and laid back. She also captured my wedding day exactly how we discussed. She captured so many wonderful moments during the day and also all of my details. My pictures came out absolutely beautiful!!! Dawn was so amazing!! Dawn and her assistant were such a pleasure to work with. My original photographer cancelled 30 says before my wedding, so I was extremely frantic as I tried to find someone new. When I spoke with Dawn, she was so sweet and understanding and I just knew I had to have her shoot my wedding! She was highly recommended by a coworker as well. Dawn was so nice but she was also able to wrangle my family together for photos. My husband and I always feel very awkward while taking pictures, but she did an amazing job of making us laugh and feel comfortable. My husband doesn’t like to take pictures at all, but he didn’t complain once because being with Dawn was like being with a friend. It was just such a great experience and I am so happy I ended up working with Dawn!

Photos are one of the most important parts of a wedding. Words cannot express how thrilled I am to have hired Dawn for my wedding in July. These photos are to die for. I can't even believe the way she was able to capture so much beauty in our wedding. Not to mention how amazing and easy she is to work with. When you meet Dawn, you'll probably spend more time chatting randomly about you and your fiance than packages or money. Not that its not important but its as if shes trying to get to know you. Imagine that! We booked a package with an engagement session and it flew by so fast because she is such a great conversationalist. She listens and shares some pretty random stories.

I say all that to say... Shes awesome. Yes her work is amazing but she made us feel supported, comfortable and is super unobtrusive. You won't regret booking her..

If you're looking for a professional, natural, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING photographer, Dawn Joseph is your girl! Choosing a photographer is not easy; however, as soon as I spoke with Dawn, I knew I was making the right decision. Her work is so natural and REAL. You can truly feel the emotions behind every image her and her team captures. My husband and I first met Dawn at our engagement session. We were extremely nervous and didn't want it to show in our photos. Dawn made us feel at ease and 100% comfortable. On our wedding day she truly felt like a member of my family. She fit right in and was a pleasure having her with us. I honestly can't even remember seeing any of the photographers throughout my day and she still managed to capture every single moment of our wedding day. All I can do is echo everything the other couples have said here. I found Dawn through a work friend and can't believe how wonderful she has been. Steve and I have huge families and both our mothers wanted every conceivable combination of extended family formals imaginable. Dawn asked all the right questions leading up to our wedding day making sure to give enough time for our insane photo requests. I was convinced that there was no pleasing them but Dawn just has a way with making complicated things seem easy. All her guidance made it simple for Steve and I to enjoy our day and also satisfy all the image needs. Hire her. You won't regret it!

My husband and I knew the moment we met with Dawn that she would be the perfect photographer for our wedding. Her amazing talent showed just from looking through her albums and we couldn’t wait to work with her. On the day of the wedding Dawn made everyone feel so calm and started doing her thing, she is quick, organized and has a vision like no other. She captured every moment that happen that day and I could not be happier with our pictures. Anyone that sees our pictures ask who our photographer was and tells us we look like a magazine spread, how I can even ask for more!!!! Dawn was such a big part of our day, not only did my bridal party love her but so did my parents and everyone at the wedding. One comment that was made many of times was how desecrate she was during our ceremony. She is definitely not that photographer who is in the way and takes away from the bride and groom that’s for sure! We are so happy that Dawn was able to be such a huge part of our day; I will forever look back at our photos and be reminded of what a beautiful day it was!

We used Dawn for our wedding and engagement photos. I saw her photos on the knot and immediately contacted her. Her prices were fair and pictures were absolutely gorgeous! We couldn't be happier with our wedding photos! She was very professional and listened to what we wanted photographed. My husband and I knew we wanted Dawn to photograph our wedding the second we left our consultation, we didn’t even bother meeting with anyone else! She is so down-to-earth and we knew instantly that we’d feel comfortable trusting her to capture all our special moments. She kept us laughing throughout our engagement session, which happened to be on the coldest day of the year, so we definitely needed something to help us warm up! On our wedding day, Dawn and her assistant, Ashlyn, were nothing short of professionals. They were both so efficient and were able to quickly get all our portraits done outside, as it was a little chilly and starting to drizzle. To be honest, I was a little upset that the weather prevented us from being able to get any bright and sunny natural light photos; however, the cloudy skies actually made for some really beautiful shots and we couldn’t be happier with how they came out! We recently received all our pictures and we’re completely obsessed; we can’t stop looking at them! She really captured the love, happiness and excitement that everyone was feeling throughout the day. We especially love all the candid shots; some of them are so funny! We look forward to putting together our album soon with Dawn’s designer, Angela, who designed our save-the-dates and is also amazing! We highly recommend Dawn Joseph Photography!

Dawn was such a joy to work with! We had a lot of fun taking our pictures. She never made us feel awkward or uncomfortable. Her and her other photographer took some great shots at the wedding! They were really able to catch the joy and happiness we/everyone felt the whole day. They were able to capture the beautiful moments that we will treasure forever. We were so happy with the way our engagement and wedding photos came out.
Dawn was very helpful if we had any questions or concerns. If there was anything specific we wanted shots of on our wedding day, she had a print out to make sure we got it done, because it gets crazy and you forget. I would highly recommend her!

Dawn was an absolute pleasure to work with. From our initial meeting, we knew Dawn really heard us and would be able to capture our vision. She is someone with whom you immediately feel comfortable (important because you will spend a significant amount of time with your photographer on your wedding day). From the very beginning, Dawn was a pleasure to work with. During our first meeting, she really took the time to hear what we wanted and assured us she would capture every aspect of our day. I felt she was way more invested than some of the other photographers we had met with and was VERY reasonably priced for what we were looking for. The day of the wedding, Dawn and Ashlyn were super punctual and captured every aspect of the wedding day that we were looking for from getting ready to our religious ceremony, to dances/speeches to cake cutting and just every little moment in between. Even after the wedding, Dawn was able to send our pictures to us in record time. The pictures are something we will cherish forever and are so thankful to have had her expertise!!

Dawn was absolutely amazing! We can't say enough good things about her! From the engagement shoot to the wedding day she was super easy to work with, very professional, and made taking photos effortless. She has such an amazing energy that makes you feel so relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera. She is passionate and energetic and it really shows through her work. Absolutely the best. She and her team took AMAZING photos on our big day. Our day ended up cloudy for the first half and rain for the second, and still her pictures were incredible. We learned early on that responsiveness and reliable communication are key to a good vendor. Dawn was just that. When we first began searching for photographers for our wedding, we realized it just wasn't going to be as easy as we had hoped for. To say the least, we came across some not so nice and welcoming companies. That all changed once we met Dawn from Dawn Joseph Photography. She was so sweet from the first moment we said hello. Welcomed us into her office with a huge smile and made us feel super comfortable. She was funny and easy going, but also very professional and experienced in her craft. We left her office feeling like she was the one, so needless to say, we had to book her!

She answered every email super fast and kept in constant touch with us regarding our engagement shoot as well as our big day. She had some great suggestions and ideas she shared with us. We thought she was a bit crazy when she suggested we shoot our engagement session at 6 am in the middle of New York City but wow she was right on the money! She knew it was the best time slot to give us that intimate time to get the best pictures possible without the crowded background beautiful NY offers. Her shots were incredible and she just has that perfect vision and style we wanted for our pictures.

The big day was also nothing short of fantastic. As always she was on time, with a smile, super happy and full of energy. Dawn and her team captured every picture, every angle, every moment, and every raw emotion imaginable. She knew what we wanted and delivered without a hitch.

Nothing is more important than the photographs. Everything else faded and is now a distant memory and all that's left are the precious photos! You'll be glad if you hire someone as talented as Dawn Joseph Photography and you'll be miserable if you go with a run of the mill studio that sends someone you've never met. Dawn was wonderful from start to finish. As soon as we met with her, I knew I wanted her to photograph my wedding. Her style is very classic and romantic. I loved that she didn't press us to do any "cheesy" poses or photos that were not our style. Our engagement pictures are so beautiful! Dawn does a great range of close-ups to landscape shots, and everything in between. She doesn't rely on props to make the photo, her skill is using the natural light and surroundings and subjects to make each photo look like it should be in a magazine. I really can't say enough how much I love all of the photos she took of us. We had a mishap during the getting ready phase of my wedding that delayed our schedule but she never made us feel rushed or nervous that we weren't going to get our shots in. Dawn is also super professional and is quick to answer emails. She was one of the best parts of our wedding day! Her second photographer Ashlynn also got amazing shots!

Dawn is a hidden gem!! Finding a great photographer was among my top priorities for my wedding, as I’m sure is the case for most people. You spend so much money on everything and want to make sure all of those memories are perfectly captured. In doing my research for a photographer, we initially met with several studios in addition to Dawn. What I loved about Dawn, on top of to her awesome work which you can see for yourself on her website, was her vibrant personality. Unlike the studios we met with where we wouldn’t have know who our wedding photographer would be until right before the wedding, we knew that Dawn would be the one there to capture our special day, and that was important. A wedding can be stressful and the last thing you want is a grumpy photographer in your face all day. Dawn was amazing-- she made everyone laugh and feel comfortable during the formal shots, and did such a good job the rest of the day hardly being noticed yet still capturing all the key moments. In addition to our amazing wedding photos, she also came all the way up to Boston (where we live) for our engagement photo shoot that came out fantastic. On top of everything else, Dawn’s value for the product she produces is amazing. Her unbelievable talent is matched only by her infectious personality, and I’d recommend Dawn to anyone looking for a wedding photographer. You will not be disappointed!!!

Dawn and Ashlyn were totally amazing. I am thrilled with my photos and how well they worked with everyone on my wedding day. Working with Dawn was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. We unfortunately had a few things go wrong with timing and I was no where near ready when she arrived. She indicated that she should arrive at least an hour before I got into my dress and I was no where near done with hair and makeup when she pulled up. I was frantic and mortified! The moment she walked through the door, she asked how I was doing with the biggest smile on her face. When I looked like I was going to CRY she quickly interrupted and said 'show me all your gorgeous details,' while rubbing her hands. I already had them laying out in my parents master bedroom and we went through each piece and why they were significant (one of her distraction tactics). She then took out the itinerary she had me fill out and calmly started rearranging my timeline. 'Okay,' she said very matter of fact. 'We can do your family portraits after the ceremony..... works?'
I knew right there and then I was working with a pro. I hired her because I loved her work and her personality and realized that she was also a gentle leader in crisis situations. I'm not sure how I would have made it through the day but am grateful for the spectacular images, service and therapy she provided!

I don't think I can find the right words to describe the unremarkable service that Dawn provided me for my wedding. I contacted Dawn in March 2014 when I was researching wedding photographers. She was the first to respond to me via email and we quickly set up a time to meet and chat in person. I immediately felt connected with Dawn and loved her right away! I booked her right after our meeting and didn't meet with any of the other photographers that I reached out to. Over the year of our engagement, Dawn almost served as my wedding planner in addition to my photographer! She recommended 90% of my other vendors to me, along with suggestions for our engagement photo and wedding photo locations. Dawn checked in with me periodically throughout the year, and always responded to my emails in less than 24 hours (this was a HUGE plus to me, as a lot of vendors take their time in responding to emails!).

Fast forward a year to our wedding in February 2015 -- when Dawn arrived at my house that morning, I was already stressed out because it was evident that I would be (very) late to the church ceremony. Dawn kept everyone in line and got us out the door as quickly as possible, while somehow calming my nerves and still capturing breathtaking photos at the same time! Throughout the rest of the day and night, Dawn and her team kept us all on track and got us to wherever we needed to be - without her, I am fully convinced that the day could/WOULD have turned hectic. After the wedding, I received numerous comments from my guests at how amazed they were at our photos and they just couldn't believe how wonderful they turned out because they "didn't even realize there was a photographer there!". Dawn and her two assistants captured every moment of the night without taking anyone's attention away from the meaning of the night. I wish I could write more in this LITTLE box!! I am forever grateful to Dawn for my wedding day and highly recommend her to ALL NJ brides!

One of the best moment of the night was our sparkler send off. Knowing that we didn't have a clue how to orchestrate it, she stepped in and helped us achieve a stunning moment. That final image now hangs in our den where we spend most of our time. That's what I love about the photos Dawn took that day. We have yet to purchase an album. We simply can't decide on photos but we absolutely love the canvas selects she suggested. The images are true heirlooms and I'm so happy with the service and product we received from dawn Joseph Photography.

This woman blew it out of the water! She did a phenomenal job day-of and after the fact. Absolutely, at all times, she was a consummate professional, who gets what she's doing, and is incredibly talented. I think her 5-star rating across the board speaks for itself.
And in case you're wondering, we are the very last (or fist, depending on how you look at it) photo is her gallery on Weddingwire, the coupe at the end of a long dock. My heart skips a beat when I see this picture and am so happy I have such a fond memory of Dawn to go along with it.

Dawn was amazing!!! I had always wanted my wedding pictures to be natural, not so posed, and a little vintage-y and Dawn nailed all three. She was very cool to work with, extremely flexible with us and best part is, she knew exactly what I had envisioned for this day. I really can't say enough great things. On top of it all, she sent us a little gift box with a USB drive of pictures and a few other little treats. Those small extra touches make such a difference. Its so nice to work with someone who cares about your wedding day just as much as you do. If you are considering booking Dawn, do it. I promise she will exceed your expectations!

Dawn captured our day better than we could have imagined! Our pictures are beautiful- they are beyond what we could have dreamed of! Dawn took precious moments of our day, and gave us a way to hold onto them for many years to come.

After working with Dawn for our engagement photos I knew we made the right decision on a wedding photographer. She is very attentive to details and listens to what you want! The day of our wedding she was right on time. Our guests kept commenting on her sweet personality! By the time the night was over it was as if we had known her forever, she is very easy to work with and makes you feel very comfortable with her. She also checks in to make sure she has photographed all that you have wanted her to do!!

Dawn is so much more than a photographer - she's an artist and friend. She was so personable and you can tell she truly loves her craft. The photos Dawn captured and shared with us are so beautiful. She not only helped us create a memorable engagement shoot in DC (that she traveled to us for), but she created stunning photos throughout the entire wedding day. She captured the most beautiful light and the most intimate moments on camera without us even realizing she was there. During the first look, she took charge to make sure everything went smoothly, and was even able to keep some of our lovely groomsmen in line to make sure we got all the pictures we needed. I did extensive research before landing on Dawn, and I would hire her again and again (and probably will for the next life event)!

I could not be happier with Dawn. She was absolutely fantastic and I am so happy with the beautiful photos she took of our wedding day and for our engagement shoot. Dawn was great to work with, from our first Skype convo to all the emails that we traded back and forth. She's so pleasant and she handled all of my many requests with patience and professionalism. Dawn was also such a pleasure to have around on our wedding day and produced extremely beautiful photos that we will treasure for years to come. She's so talented and just has an eye for fantastic shots. We hired her because her work was artistic and creative, and really captured people's emotions. Dawn was everything we could have wanted and more for our wedding and engagement photos. Her attitude made it so easy to work with her, especially when she would make us laugh/smile when the timing was right for our photos. She was open to all ideas we had for our photos, but had endless ideas, herself, to get the most out of our engagement and bridal party group photos. The photos we have received from our wedding are way above our high expectations of quality. Her and her associate, Ambrose, did a wonderful job capturing all of the moments of our wedding. We would recommend Dawn to anyone looking for a photographer for an event.

Dawn is the best. I honestly can't recommend her enough. Most importantly, her photos are incredible. My husband pointed out that she does a great job of capturing the emotions of you & your friends/family, and that was 100% true in our photos. The pictures turned out even better than I was expecting, and she did a great job capturing fun little moments during the day (like when my husband couldn't tie his bowtie...)

She is extremely professional - quick email responses, simple and fair contract, asks all the right questions to make sure she knows what you want from her on your wedding day.

She's also really fun, relaxed and flexible, so you feel very comfortable being photographed by her for the day. We wanted someone who who document everything in a very natural way, and I felt like she hit the right balance of staging shots when she needed to (formals, cake cutting, etc.) and then taking a step back and just letting us hang out during the rest of the day.

I can't even begin to explain how wonderful it was working with Dawn for our wedding. From our very first conversation, I knew there was no one else I would ever want to photograph our big day. When our sunny engagement session turned into a downpour, Dawn offered to do another day of shooting to make sure we got the perfect pictures. I took forever deciding on a photographer and here are the reasons we went with Dawn.

Stunning work: Her wedding stories took my breath away and provided what I needed to know about her thought process when she works. This is a no brainer - she does quality work and the only issue with that is not being able to make hard image choices for our designer album and wall art! Before I saw her work, I thought I wanted images with the vintage style effects - her style is hard to describe. Its soft and classic... I just feel beautiful and some of the images make me feel like Mike and I were all alone in the room..

Highly Responsive: Its one thing for vendors to respond quickly before you book with them. Dawn was consistent throughout the entire process and was always available to answer every little question we (or my Mom) had. I never felt like a number.

Not just about the sale: Dawn never sold useless or overpriced services or products to us. We went for the largest package she offered because we needed the extra hours but instead of leaving it at that, she gently talked us through why we made that selection. She recommended what we could leave out and was happy to modify our package to fit our unique needs. She truly CONSULTED with us vs. selling.

Unobtrusive: In our consultation she said, "your wedding in not a photo or video production. I dont want to be part of the story but I want to tell it.." I took this for granted till I went to a few weddings and the photographer was jumping all over the place. Dawn took charge when necessary and was in the background most of the time.

Great person: This may not matter to many folks but she's just a great girl. She got everyone to relax, has a wonderful sense of humor and just really fit in with my family. Everyone still talks about her and she'll be getting a ton of business from my engaged cousins.

I feel so fortunate to have found Dawn to be our wedding (and engagement) photographer. From the first meeting to getting our finished photos she was an absolute joy to work with and was such a huge all around help on our wedding day. We had a very d-i-y wedding, so needless to say, the day of was pretty hectic and she was always in the right places at the right times and got incredible shots that I didn't even know would have been possible! I wanted the feel of our wedding to be magical and ethereal and her photographs conveyed that perfectly. I couldn't recommend Dawn any more!

Choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions that you will make surrounding your wedding. You want to find someone who can capture the intimate moments of your wedding without having it be stagey, unnatural or forced. You hope that your wedding photographer has an eye for detail and you want your photos to be unique. You want your photographer to be present, but unobtrusive. You want to feel comfortable with your photographer so that you can relax and be yourself. Dawn Joseph completely nailed it in all of those ways aforementioned. In the time leading up to the wedding, Dawn was extremely attentive and she really listened to the hopes that we had for our wedding photos. Her fun personality made us feel relaxed and comfortable from the moment that we met with her for our consultation. On the day of our wedding, Dawn and her team were wonderful. We took “first look” pictures and did family photos prior to the ceremony so that we would be able to enjoy our cocktail hour. Our bridal party and family commented on how awesome Dawn’s team was. Our family will forever be grateful to Dawn and her team for giving us such a beautiful collection of happy moments that we will cherish for years to come!

Dawn and I clicked from the moment we met, she is an absolute joy to work with! I was so excited to have her do our engagement and wedding day photos! Dawn was amazing throughout our entire engagement - she assisted us in our day-of timelines and recommended stunning locations for our first look photos!... My husband and I LOVE Dawn! Since the moment we first contacted her, Dawn has been great. Not only is she amazingly talented, but she has a fantastic personality.

It took some convincing, but my husband agreed to do engagement photos. We had a great time with Dawn, and she even tried to incorporate our cats into some of our pictures at home. Dawn did a wonderful job on our photos, and we were really glad that we took the time to get comfortable in front of the camera prior to our wedding. The photos came out great, and we were able to display them at my bridal shower. The guests at my shower raved about Dawn's work.

On the day of our wedding, Dawn arrived ready to go. She captured every moment and emotion; she’s truly is an artist! Despite the torrential rain on our wedding day, Dawn captured so many amazing photos. Our family and friends loved her as well! We loved looking at our slideshow and our photos, and can’t wait to order our album.

When choosing our photography package for our wedding, Dawn didn’t try to sell us on any added “upgrades.” Her talent truly sells itself. In addition to her awesome photography and business skills, Dawn also was a great source for finding other vendors. I wouldn’t have found our florist or my hair stylist without her!

Dawn is unbelievably talented. From our first conversation on the phone to the last email I have enjoyed every interaction. I have had nothing but wonderful compliments on our wedding pictures. She was with us for most of the day, taking pictures before the ceremony, during, and after, until almost the end of the reception (staying later than paid to!). She captured all the family and friend shots we needed, and we were left with plenty of time for creative, artistic, and romantic shots as well. I didn't realize how lovely they would be until I saw them. Dawn has a great eye for a beautiful shot, and we will treasure the photos forever.

Dawn is fabulous. How fabulous is she? I recommended her to a co-worker before I got married--who was thrilled with Dawn's website portfolio. So I looked at Dawn's website again and I was so psyched to get married and have Dawn as our photographer.

That's how fabulous Dawn is.

Dawn is professional and flexible. At first I told her I didn't want to be photographed with a certain set of people. Then I changed my mind and she went with the flow. Dawn's personality put us at ease and it was fun to be with her. She is quick to respond to emails. She did some research about the venue before we met with her. Several of my guests commented on how professional and unobtrusive she was/is. In fact, she is so unobtrusive--I don't remember where she was for the first look photos. Was she in the bushes? I don't know! That's how focused we were on each other.

And my co-worker? She's still excited about her wedding next week. And Dawn has already helped her out when the hair/makeup person dropped out at the last minute.

I think Dawn is Wonder Woman.

Dawn did a phenomenal Job! I can't imagine having anyone else photographer my wedding. All of the shots were absolutely stunning, The day went by so very fast and I feel like I didn't get to see all the little details, but Dawn was able to capture all the small details and moments beautifully. My family in TX that wasn't able to make it loved all the shots and made them feel like they were there. One of my bridesmaids is now engaged and is asking for Dawn's info now for her Wedding! I highly recommend Dawn for a Wedding or any special occasion. She does amazing things with a camera. Her Sweet down to earth personality will make your Wedding day very special.

I absolutely adore my images! I can't wait to see my wall prints. I am amazed at her expertise in photography. She gives her level best in all that she does and I know I made the best choice. I love my images. She added so much to our day. She was organized, laid back and produced stunning photography. I look forward to all the prints we ordered and cant wait for our first baby images!
Beyond being a wonderful photographer she is sweet and empathetic whenever you have a problem. We didn't have major issues but when I asked her to retouch a blemish on one of my photos she was very accommodating even though it was not part of the retouching she usually does for wedding work. I never felt that I was asking for too much and felt like she always made special time to deal with my questions or concerns. She is top of the line and will be a huge star one day!! Thank you Dawn for making my day so very special!

Dawn was wonderful to work with. She was patient, dealt with all my silly emails and made our day smooth and effortless. Her work was astonishing, and her customer service was unparalleled. I am so pleased with my photos and cant thank her enough for all the work she put into our beautiful album.
The only thing I would caution is that you should definitely book more hours that less. I do regret not getting the larger packages that included engagement sessions. I have now hired her to do some casual images of the two of us together and cant wait to do the session this spring. It would have been much more cost effective if I just opted for the package that included it!

Dawn was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her work was stunning, and she had just the look I wanted for my wedding photos. Classic, beautiful shots, without the stiffness of a portrait, and yet still frame and album worthy. Her eye for detail, along with an artistic edge combined into what proved to be unique photos and gorgeous perspectives. My husband and I consulted with her several months before the big day, and instantly fell in love with her bubbly personality and sincere interest in what we wanted. She clearly demonstrates a passion for what she does, and it shows in her work. From the time of our consultation up until our wedding day Dawn was incredibly responsive with her communication. If we ever had any questions, we never worried about waiting to hear back from her. She was extremely accommodating to us, and to everyone she photographed. Our families had nothing but nice things to say about her, and I received wonderful feedback from my wedding guests. I have even referred her to one of my close friends who recently got engaged. Dawn was not overbearing, or bossy during our photo shoots, as some photographers tend to be. Instead, she made it very fun, and I completely forgot about my own insecurities. We felt relaxed, and took direction very easily from her. I trusted that Dawn would make sure our happiness shone through, and they do! She captured some great moments throughout the day, and all of our smiles and laughter are completely genuine thanks to her. For someone who does high quality work, her prices are amazing! If you are a bride (and groom!) on a budget, I would highly recommend giving her a call and setting up a consultation. She will meet with you almost anywhere, and makes sure you are both free to throw around ideas. She listens to her clients, is fun to talk to, and will ultimately capture amazing shots that will last a life time. I have only amazing things to say about Dawn. From her professionalism to her amazing personality, to THE PHOTOS that more than speak for themselves, she was truly a dream to work with. Dawn was phenomenal. Though the first time we actually met in person was on the wedding day, she was flexible with hours and communication (email, snail mail, cell phone, and texts). And on the actually day, she did an amazing job. She managed to take control of the photoshoot time (after the service, before the reception) but in such a way that you barely noticed her. Many of the photos look very natural because she isn't overbearing as a photographer. She would quietly give directions while focusing her camera more on our interactions than on rigidly staged portraits. Overall a pleasure to work with and I would certainly recommend her to anyone looking for a well-priced, friendly, and enthusiastic wedding photographer.

My fiance and I did our engagement shoot earlier this month with Dawn and couldn't be happier with the results! The pictures are PERFECT! She was so attentive to us and gave us excellent direction (even during the chaos of having our two dogs with us)! Her excitement about our photos made us even more excited to see them. She was professional and responsive throughout the entire process, from the contract early on, to the last minute details the day of the wedding. She was respectful and helpful throughout the day. She would remind us to smile in order to get better images, but kept us feeling natural. The images were absolutely beautiful and I couldn't have asked for more. I would highly recommend her to others. As a photographer myself, I am impressed with the work and appreciated the way she operated throughout my day.

Dawn Joseph Photography made our day special and provided us with a lifetime of memories to share with our friends and family for years to come. Her ability to capture an array of feelings and emotions on camera was amazing. Our wedding occurred on New Year's Day at 1:30 am and her willingness to be both flexible and accommodating to our schedule was appreciated. She was available and responsive for any/all questions that a bride/groom would have concerning the services being vendored and her personal touch made us feel how invested she was in ensuring us the best quality. Thank you seems so minimal, but Again We say....Thank You Dawn!

Are you looking for GREAT photos for memories of a lifetime??? Then Dawn is your photographer. I found Dawn on Living Social and thought it was too good to be true but when I previewed her work it was phenomenal. When we met with her she was professional, courteous and knowledgable in her craft. She Nswered all our questions and was available for questions up until the day of my wedding. she captured my day the way I wanted it and my pics are amazing I am very pleased and would Definitely recommend her to friends.

Dawn is more than awesome :). The reason for which we selected "unique services" in addition to photography is that she was much more than a photographer on our special day: Dawn was the "entertainer" that made us laugh and relax with her lovely sense of humor; Dawn also helped to organize the event because we were so busy; and more than anything, she was like a friend to every guest attending our wedding.

I really couldn't believe that we received the link to our online gallery only ONE day after the wedding. The pictures are great! Our friends even said that we should sell some of the pics to a wedding journal :p. We are really satisfied and can't thank Dawn enough.

One more thing, I admire her profesionalism. Just because she had some trouble finding our hotel, she offered us a discount, even though she stayed with us the whole time as specified in the contract. Of course we didn't take it, since she deserved more than that.

All in all, I'm blessed that we found Dawn after seeing lots of offers from photographers saying that for "x" hours you can have "y" pictures and "z" of them will be in your online gallery. Dawn showed us that there are really no limits in talent, professionalism, passion and love. We even plan to ask her to take pictures of our first baby (even though it's gonna be a long time from now).

There is no way to describe these amazing photos. Dawn is a freak of
nature, mad scientist art genius. She lumped my bridal session (trash
the dress) into my wedding package and I honestly look like a fashion
model! She was one of my favorite finds and I am so glad I committed
to her. Thank you Dawn for the amazing wedding photos! You have a
point of view that I have not seem out there yet and I am so happy to
have found my wedding, family and fashion  photographer. xoxo

These images are breathtaking. We finally received our album and it’s
not like any of the others I saw during consultations. Dawn is really
about quality, even with things we didn’t really want to focus on -
she always insisted on the best within our budget. I am very happy we
listened to her because this album (NOT the flush albums) is a true
beauty and family heirloom. It’s made out of this fancy thick paper
and it’s just so luxurious.
I'm so very happy and would recommend her a thousand times to anyone!

There are no words to describe our photos. I didn't really understand what true photojournalism meant till I saw our gallery. I'm a stickler for details and when I told her what I wanted, she executed with razor sharp focus.
