The Darby House is a beautiful venue with so many amenities that made for a wonderful wedding experience. Having the entire property to yourself gives your guests a private and spacious event space. We had our ceremony outdoors on the patio, dinner in the dining room, and cocktail hour and dancing in the racing room. This allowed us to enjoy the entire space, with a quiet space away from the dance floor for anyone who needed a break!

Darby House provides a day of coordinator, who helps keep everything running smoothly, from directing vendors as they arrive and set up, to making sure the ceremony starts on time, to helping with the flow of the wedding. In the planning period, you are matched with this same coordinator, so they really get to know you and your event. We were with Nicole originally, but after our postponement we worked with Jade. We were planning from out-of-state, so most of our meetings were by phone or conversing via email. Jade was always willing to check on our requests or verify information. She was fantastic on our wedding day, helping keep the bridal parties on time, setting out place cards and decor, driving us around for photos, making sure the lights were dimmed and dinner and dessert were served... She took away the list of worries you have leading up to the day, and made sure my husband and I, and our parents, could enjoy ourselves!

The Darby House provides a GoogleDoc for planning that was very comprehensive, detailing everything we didn’t know we needed to decide, but was also a bit finicky to fill out. Hopefully some of that was related to pandemic-restrictions, and it will be back to fully editable in the future!

When we wanted to postpone due to the pandemic, the Darby House was able to accommodate our request for our preferred new date. A silver lining to this was that during the slow 2020 season, Darby House underwent renovations that we were able to enjoy! The bridal suite is spacious and beautifully lit. We were able to have hair and makeup for the entire bridal party, as well as lovely bridal photos in this space. Meanwhile, the groomsmen enjoyed hanging out in their own room, complete with foosball.

As far as other vendors, there is a selection of caterers to pick from. The Darby House can provide suggestions to other vendors they’ve worked with (their DJ suggestion was amazing!). They were more than willing to accommodate our vendors, and the day-of coordinator handles communication the week of the wedding, which was one less thing for us to worry about!

There are a number of provided amenities and extras that you can select to personalize your experience. There are multiple bar packages to choose from (Darby House has their own liquor license, so they supply all bartenders and alcohol, but are happy to work with you on signature drinks). There is a wide assortment of linen colors available. Arbors can be borrowed for the ceremony, as well as easels and a few decor items. Chairs can be upgraded if you would like (we stuck with the standard option).

We received so many compliments on the space all night from our guests! It looked magical! The river is a lovely backdrop, and floor to ceiling windows in every room mean the indoor space feels bright and open. To take advantage of the property, the couple can be taken on the golf cart to take pictures throughout the property. If you’re looking for a venue with beautiful natural setting, but an elevated interior, look no further than the Darby House.

I don't even know where to began with this review. First off, this venue is absolutely stunning and by far was the best all around venue in Columbus. The staff exceeded my expectations and truly made our wedding day everything we dreamed it would be. Alexa, our coordinator, was amazing and very detail oriented. She was able to answer all of my questions in a timely manner and work with us on our budget and help us with everything we wanted for our wedding day. Nicole was also amazing to work with and very helpful and detailed. The staff treats you like family and was able to help us with anything we needed on wedding day and allow everything to flow smoothly. Our guests all commented on how beautiful our venue was. Sure, it is a little pricey but in the end it was truly worth it for us as we couldn't imagine having our wedding anywhere else. I highly recommend this venue. Be sure to reach out and book early!

Our experience with Darby House was absolutely amazing! From day one, we were very comfortable with the staff and their kind, warm, professional personalities. Alex was our coordinator and I cannot say enough how amazing she was. By the end of our wedding day, she did not feel like just our event coordinator, but a friend. Every time we met with Alex we left feeling very calm and at ease. With the staff at Darby house, we knew our wedding was in good hands. Brenda was also with us for our wedding day and she was a great presence to have. She was an amazing help and we really enjoyed getting to know her. I would absolutely recommend Darby House for your event!

The Darby House was by far the best decision I made for my entire wedding. Alex Carsonie was our wedding coordinator and she was a saint. She made the entire process loads less stressful and every time I spoke to her I felt better! She coordinated everything and it couldn't have gone better! We received an insane amount of compliments about the food, and they packed up the leftovers! The setting couldn't be prettier and every single staff member went above and beyond to ensure we had the best day!

I cannot say enough good things about Darby House. If the gorgeous venue itself isn't enough to make you book, the staff is incredible. Throughout the entire wedding process our coordinator was supportive and attentive to our needs. Abby was one step ahead of us every step of the way and she was willing to work with us on every aspect of the wedding. My husband wanted to have Miller Lite at the wedding, but Darby House didn't offer it. As a surprise, Abby arranged to have some at the wedding for us and my husband was thrilled! The food is AMAZING. Well worth every penny and the service staff was excellent. I highly recommend The Darby House and any Cameron Mitchell Venue.

We were extremely satisfied with our wedding at the Darby House, and will absolutely recommend Cameron Mitchell catering to our friends. Our coordinator, Emily, was amazing. She made sure everything went smoothly and kept us on schedule. She even constructed a last minute bouquet for my maid of honor after a mix up with the florist. We couldn't have done it without her. Beautiful venue, great staff. Very happy with our decision to get married at the Darby House.

The Darby House was perfect for our wedding ceremony and repetition in August 2015! We've received so many compliments! The staff was amazing and helped plan the entire event. The whole process was incredibly easy and they went above and beyond to make the day perfect for us.

The Darby House was an absolutely amazing venue. I had a morning wedding (10:30am ceremony) with about 120 guests and the coordinators at Darby House helped me put together my day from our very first meeting. The Cameron Mitchell catering is delicious! The coordinators were extremely flexible and let me put together a completely non-traditional wedding. They gave me food and vendor suggestions that were on point and immediately answered any question I had, whether big or small. I highly recommend this venue, they are awesome!

My daughter and son-in-law were married at Darby House yesterday (7-17-15), and I am excited to be able to write a review. From beginning to end the staff at Darby House were kind, helpful and went above and beyond in caring for every detail and every aspect of the wedding. We could not afford a hugely extravagant wedding, and when we went for our first visit, we were given options to make the venue affordable for us. The staff was responsive throughout the planning process. My daughter and son-in-law both have special dietary needs, and these were taken seriously and addressed carefully. The rehearsal was helpful, and because of the schedule, we were fortunate to be able bring the majority of the things we needed to have for the wedding and reception that night before. They set up and decorated all of the tables so that we could focus on last minute details and enjoy the rehearsal dinner. The day of the wedding, our wedding coordinator (Abby) was a joyful, happy and calming presence for us. She attended to the details and gave the staff their instructions. And this was so wonderful! They didn't just set up what we brought. They took the general theme for the wedding and added additional props and decorations to make everything look extra special. The servers were attentive, professional, and lovely. During the reception, the staff set up the table with the favors beautifully. And the food was amazing! We had a brunch wedding, and the menu included fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon (So.Good.), sausage, and upside down french toast. It was really, really good. We had so many compliments on the food, and I want to pass them on! Bravo to the chef! The biggest surprise to me came after the wedding and reception. The staff packed up food for the newlyweds to take with them for their honeymoon, which was lovely and thoughtful. After my daughter and son-in-law left, I asked people to stay and help us clean up, but every time I mentioned a task that needed to be done, the staff

Our wedding was on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Darby House, and they exceeded all of our expectations. We worked with Abby Antonick as our wedding coordinator, and Mike Redcay as the manager of the venue and they were both truly exceptional. We had the most beautiful day, were able to have our ceremony out on the patio with the beautiful scenery in the background. Everything was perfect.

The reception was fantastic. The food is literally the best wedding food you will ever have in your life. Everything is delicious. We opted to serve buffet style, the buffet was beautiful and all of our guests were so happy! They even were able to provide special meals for guests with dietary restrictions on the spot, and accomodated my 91 year old grandmother by plating her dinner for her so she could stay seated. These are the kind of things Cameron Mitchell Events make happen. They are top notch.

Our wedding at Darby House was absolutely amazing! Mike Redcay and the Cameron Mitchell Premier Events team blew our expectations away! Everything went off without a hitch. Our guests are still talking about how our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to! From the incredible food to the professional staff, the beautiful venue, and everything in between, we couldn't be happier with how our wedding turned out.
Mike was a blast to work with. Even from the very beginning planning phases, Mike thought of things that never would have even crossed my mind. He let us plan everything exactly how we wanted, but also gave extremely helpful professional advice where we needed the help. He knows weddings like no one I've ever met!
My mom can be difficult to please and Mike worked with me to assure everyone in my family was happy with the process. He personally called me to talk through details and make sure that everyone's opinions were heard.
Mike helped us put together a schedule of the evening and everything ran smoothly. I felt confident and comfortable the entire day and I knew the Cameron Mitchell Premier Events team would make everything perfect.
It rained for a good portion of the afternoon leading up to our outdoor ceremony. Like any bride, I was a bit anxious. Mike and the CMPE team assured me that I would have my outdoor terrace wedding dream! They swept off the patio and aisle, they dried chairs, and even "blew dry" the overhanging trees! It was amazing.
I could not imagine doing my wedding with any other event venue or caterer. I am a raving fan of everything about CMPE and Darby House!!!

Our wedding was this past weekend at the Darby House (10/5/13), but we had booked the venue back in July 2012 because we knew as soon as we saw it that it was the right place for us. Boy did this surpass all of our expectations! Our coordinator at the Darby House changed a few times due to family emergencies and the like, but everyone we worked with was phenomenal! The food was amazing -- we got SO many compliments from guests! -- and the service was outstanding, from the wait staff to the coordinators. The grounds were beautiful for photographs. Brooke, our coordinator for the big day, only became our coordinator 2 days prior at the rehearsal, and everything was still flawless! The weather was raining on and off for the wedding day, and Brooke and the rest of the Darby House team made sure we still had every bit as beautiful of a ceremony indoors as we would have outdoors. Our wedding day was beyond what we could have imagined. My only regret (other than missing out on the h'ors douvres while we were finishing up our photos) is that the day went so quickly! I know it sounds cliche, but I truly mean it. The staff at the Darby House worked so hard to ensure we had a beautiful wedding and that we could focus on all of the fun stuff while they handled the details. I would definitely recommend the Darby House and Cameron Mitchell Catering to anyone getting married in the Columbus area!

Yes! Yes! Yes! Choose Cameron Mitchell Catering for your wedding. First of all,our venue was absolutely beautiful. Second, the food tasted spectacular; something which we find pretty atypical for weddings. We chose to have theme-based food stations at our wedding and our guests have commented again and again about how creative and fun it was. The management staff is great at helping you plan and choose how best to execute your ideal ceremony and reception. On the day of the wedding, the staff from management through bar and dining service was exceptional!

The Darby House was incredible from the very beginning. They assured us our special day would be exactly how we would want and they exceeded our expectations. The entire staff is passionate, caring & incredibly talented. We were a very lucky couple in that the weather was phenomenal but they were prepared in case which eased any stress we may have had. Most brides say there are always things that go wrong but I can honestly say NOTHING went wrong. It all was so beautiful, so smooth and so stress free. We cannot thank The Darby House & Cameron Mitchell staff enough for all the hard work they do day to day to make us so happy! I would absolutely hands down recommend them to anyone.

The Darby House has surpassed any/all expectations we could have had for our venue. The professionalism, responsiveness and quality of service can't be beat. The day of our wedding they made sure to take care of any and all things possible to set our minds at ease. It's not only an obviously beautiful location but Mike was an absolute doll. Being an out of town bride he made all appointments seemless and left me assured that all would be taken care of--and it was!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Darby House in August 2011 and were amazed how perfectly everything went. It was absolutely amazing! Our dream wedding come true.

We got married on the picturesque patio in front of the Darby Creek before celebrating in the Racing Room, one of the two large banquet style rooms inside the Darby House. You can't go wrong with the location because it has everything you'd want for a beautiful outside ceremony. We didn't even need to decorate the outside for our ceremony because the scenery was beautiful!

For the reception, we chose a brunch style buffet which was prepared to perfection by Cameron Mitchell and which tasted amazing! The staff was remarkably attentive and friendly, and the service was great. One thing that was particularly outstanding about our experience at the Darby House was the planning and organization beforehand. Our wedding coordinator was Mike Redcay, and he was there whenever and wherever we needed him. From the planning phase to the cues during the ceremony and reception, he did an amazing job while keeping us calm throughout this stressful process. The Darby House was always our first choice and we could not imagine having our wedding anywhere else. We would recommend it to everyone looking for an outstanding wedding venue. We couldn't have picked a more beautiful location! The Darby House sets the perfect scene and mood for a stunning wedding and reception. The staff was amazing as well! The Darby House is a hidden gem!

The Darby House was extremely accomodating to all of my "must haves" for the wedding. Brooke was our coordinator and she was perfect in helping us achieve an amazing wedding. The Darby House is on the Batelle-Darby Creek amidst gorgeous nature views. The windows are floor to ceiling and can give you an outside nature feel while still having indoor comforts. Everyone adored the location. On the wedding day itself, everything was taken care of perfectly so we didn't have to worry one bit. I also disapproved of the vegetarian options initially BUT I did a private tasting with Brooke and asked her to have the chefs make up a cheese/mushroom ravioli which turned out to be so delicious that I am depressed that I will never have it again. Our wedding turned out better than I could have imagined thanks in large part to the wonderful staff at the Darby House. Also, ALL of the vendors we used are GLBT friendly.

We had pur wedding there is 2010 and everything was just perfect! Fantastic scenery and the food and decor was amazing!
