Amazing food and wonderful to work with!

We used Continental Catering for our 58-person wedding in February 2022, and I can't recommend them enough. They were honestly one of the main reasons we went with our venue; they have an exclusive contract with Continental, and we were so impressed by the food. It was SO delicious. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the food. They were also just wonderful to work with. Kristin in particular was fantastic. They were flexible, accommodating, and kind. They went above and beyond to help make my wedding perfect. Thank you!!!

Fabulous Food and Friendly Faces!

From the very moment we sat down for a menu tasting, my husband and I knew we were going to book with Continental Catering for our wedding. Not only were they professionals in their field about food, but they were so personable and kind! We felt like they truly cared about us as people, which only added to our event’s experience. They even baked our wedding cake (both beautiful and delicious). We loved talking with every team member!! They made detail planning and organization so easy as well. On the day of our wedding, we felt so taken care of, and got so many compliments on the food itself. It truly felt like we had good friends making our guests a home cooked meal. Thank you all again for such a lovely experience!

Hire Them!

Highly recommend Continental Catering! They were the best price and SOO flexible. Christie went above and beyond as a catering service offering their expertise and solutions outside of catering, and so flexible with all the changes they have. We couldn't find a time that worked for a second tastings and Christie personally delivered the food to my house! Their food was amazing as well, and our guests even went out of their way to let us know.

Amazing caterer!

Continental is wonderful! Their food is delicious, and they were able to incorporate Chinese, Australian, and Californian dishes into the menu in a way that was both authentic and had a bit of a twist. For the one item they didn't quite nail the first time, they went out of their way to find a baker in San Diego who could make Australian desserts. They're super easy to work with, and matched the food stations to our decor perfectly. We'd absolutely use them again if we ever have another big event.

Amazingly Delicious

Christie was absolutely amazing during our wedding planning process. She was professional and personable. In fact, every time we spoke with her it was like speaking with a close friend. She understood our vision and worked with us to make our wedding everything we wanted and more, while being mindful of our budget of course.

The day of our wedding (02/16/19), Christie and her team were on top of everything and went above and beyond their respective role. The presentation of the food and dessert was gorgeous and was equally delicious. We received raving reviews from family and friends about how yummy the food and desserts were.

Continental Catering helped make our wedding a complete dream. My husband and I married at the El Cortez this past weekend (10/6/18) and we couldn't be happier with the food service we received from Christie and her team. Our venue coordinator recommended Continental from the start and we are so grateful she did!
First off - the tastings with Christie in the beginning were so fun. Her & her team are so accommodating, we made 2 trips to their facility and decided on a menu with ease (the chicken & grits and boozy donut holes are DYNAMITE!).
They executed the day-of food service flawlessly. We received so many compliments from our 190 guests, they absolutely LOVED the food & service. Continental helped us breeze through our wedding with no stress.

We had the pleasure of working with Christie from Continental catering for our wedding this summer. I planned our wedding from out of state and Christie always made sure to accommodate a meeting with us while I was in town. We had multiple tastings at her suggestion to ensure we got the menu just right. She had helpful suggestions throughout the process and worked within our budget. Continental Catering and Yolanda, who we communicated with directly , were such a pleasure to work with! We really couldn't have chosen a better catering team because of the patience, flexibility, understanding, and knowledge of Yolanda and her team. Everything came together perfectly. The food, the presentation, the staff professionalism, and concern of excellence by the team were all top notch. Additionally, while planning, Continental offered complimentary tastings to ensure we got the perfect meal instead of us worrying about the costs before making a decision. This is smart, and was a big sell for us going with them because they made it easy and weren't trying to price you out off the bat like other catering companies. We're so grateful we chose them. I have been to many weddings and have always found the food pretty underwhelming. So when it came to planning my own wedding I didn't have high expectations. I contacted all five catering companies on the preferred vendors list provided by my reception venue and Christie from Continental Catering was the only one that actually called and asked us about ourselves, our favorite cuisines, and vision for the wedding. She then created a menu just for us... one that perfectly captured our tastes. When we did the tasting, the food was incredible and we were excited for the wedding, but still didn't expect the food to be as good when cooked in mass quantity. Needless to say (from our rating), the food was AMAZING on the big day. Every single guest I talked too that evening brought up the food, saying that they'd never had such delicious wedding food. Days later and we're still eating the leftovers and loving them. Beyond the food, Christie at Continental Catering made the planning process feel stress free and the staff that worked our event were fantastic and made everyone feel completely taken care of. I cannot say enough wonderful things about CC and would use them again in an instant if I ever needed catering!

Continental killed it. I was so so impressed with the quality of their presentation during our wedding, the professionalism of their staff, and the tastiness of their food. ( Brownie sundae bar? DO IT). We served tacos for 120 people and everything was warm and delicious. Yolanda is a total professional.

Excellent costumer service and super tasty food! We absolutely loved working with Yolanda and Continental Catering. From the tasting to the wedding day, we had a great experience! Yolanda and her staff were super helpful and helped us with everything from the layout of the tables to decorating the food stations. They also accommodated our ceremony seating which was unique in shape as well as our lighting of the outdoor area. We would definitely recommend Continental and got countless comments during and after the wedding on how delicious the food was :)

This was the first place we tasted at and we didn't have to search much further to see that this was the best value for the quality. Yolanda was a dream to work with! She was very responsive and changed our quote many times to customize it to our needs. The tasting was delicious and we had a hard time choosing, but we loved the food we picked and so did our guests!! I heard many times "this is not standard wedding food!" and "Food was so good!!"... so we are very happy with the services we had through continental! They provided our linens and they were perfect. The decor they provided for the food stations was a little much for my taste (& I even suggested keeping it simple lol) but it was all still so beautifully done! The only drawback that comes to mind is a small miscommunication the week of the wedding, where it was suggested that we hire MORE staff because of the locations we were having cocktail hour and dinner ($250 each staff member). This was at the San Diego Botanic Gardens. Considering this company was on my venues "preferred vendors" list and they had worked here many times in the past, I would've thought they knew how many people they'd need for the event prior to the week of! We didn't change our guest count drastically, the excuse was the location for cocktail hour was in the Herb garden instead of the Walled garden. They are literally right next to each other.It had been the same location since we booked with them 6 months prior, so to let me know the week of the wedding that we need to come up with $500 more AT LEAST was kind of hard to swallow. I stood firm and we survived with the 6 originally hired... & at one point I looked over and saw them all chillin off to the side lol whatever, I get it, it was during dinner and they were probably done with the hardest parts of the evening, but still! The whole thing didn't sit well with me. I'm just glad I didn't let them upsell me at the last second, when so many brides would just panic and agree to it.

Continental Catering (especially Yolanda Meza) did a fantastic job catering our 122 person wedding at the Martin Johnson House. Everyone at our wedding raved about the food, including the cheese table, pineapple-coconut shrimp appetizer, seared ahi appetizer, ginger soy glazed salmon, shortribs, garlic mashed potatoes, and balsamic grilled veggies! We decided to do a duet with half a portion of salmon and half a portion of shortribs, to avoid having to ask people for their preference and the portions provided by Continental were huge! All of their staff is friendly and very professional. Our wedding color was rose gold and Yolanda went out of her way to buy a few rose gold decorations for our donut bar and the cheese table. That was very sweet of her. The only thing that we had an issue with was my parent's table was not served until later in the dinner service, which was a minor oversight, but other than that I highly recommend Continental Catering. They did an excellent job communicating with us before the wedding and making sure we were happy with every detail (think napkin colors and folds). And the day of our wedding they delivered the quality food and service that they promised!

Your caterer will be the most important vendor at your wedding. I chose Continental Catering for three reasons. 1) They were very responsive 2) Their pricing was very competitive 3) Yolanda is an absolute professional. I got married at Scripps Seaside Forum Feb 2017. There is a designated list of caterers from which you can choose. I decided to compare a few caterers before committing to them and let me save you lots of time and tell you to just choose Continental.
Other caterers were not as responsive and made it difficult to schedule tastings. Many of the caterers asked if I had a wedding planner like that should matter. For one, Yolanda responds to emails, texts and calls within a day or so and made it extremely easy to schedule a tasting.
Second, I tried to get a tasting scheduled with UCSD (they charge for tastings) and they gave me only 2 options in an entire month of December and when I agreed to one of them, 4 days before they canceled on me and wanted to reschedule in the new year.
Third, Yolanda has done SO MANY weddings at Scripps that when we did the walk through she gave so many good suggestions and recommendations that I gave her a huge hug afterwards.
Fourth, Guisseppe bar service is VERY expensive but you have no choice. I asked Yolanda to do the bar set up. She charged me a reasonable fee for the bar set up and saved me a ton of $$$.
Lastly, I got so many compliments about the food from my guests. I really cannot say enough good things about Continental and Yolanda. I would not have had as wonderful of a wedding if it wasn't for Yolanda and her team.

My venue required us to pick a caterer from their list and I am SO glad we chose Continental. They were affordable and very professional. I worked with Yolanda throughout the whole process and she took care of every need/concern we had. She is very sweet and made everything so easy. My husband and I went with a Mexican taco buffet with a side of chile relleno casserole, rice and beans, guacamole, chips, etc. We received SO many compliments - so much so that my boss asked me for the chile relleno casserole recipe! They also provide a coffee bar with extras like chocolate shavings, etc. On top of that, we also booked them for lighting, heat lamps, tables, and a few extras. We loved that we could get this all in one package rather than hiring several other vendors. It just made everything so efficient and low-stress. They also have great reviews on Yelp ;) Thank you Continental!! ♥

Continental Catering is the whole package, lights out, the real deal!!! They were suggested by our venue and now, reccomended by me! From the beginning, Christie and the rest of the staff were extremely helpful. We were allowed to view the menu and have a tasting at their kitchen/office location and from then on, my husband and I were in love! Great food, amazing service, and wonderful people! Continental provided not only the food at our wedding (we decided buffet style) but also infused water, a coffee station, tray passed hors d'oeuvres, linens, place settings, etc., and they even made our wedding cake!!! (Which turned into multiple cakes because we chose tres leches!).
The food speaks for itself. After our wedding, guests have contacted me for the name of our caterer! And people were blown away by the cake.
I highly recommend continental for any size wedding or any other event for that matter!

We had our wedding at the Martin Johnson house in La Jolla, and were forced to choose from their list of approved vendors. Upon contacting the first few vendors, we were blown away by how expensive they were. We looked at Continental Catering next because their website was fun and funky and we were told their prices would be more reasonable. We had a tasting with Continental and all of the food was great. In addition, their prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality and presentation of the different menu options. We chose a buffet dinner with 2 entrees, 2 salads, and 2 sides. Overall, our guests were very happy with the food. I have a few dietary restrictions and the team was very willing to make my meal separately within the required specifications.

Our event manager was Yolanda and she was extremely responsive to any questions or communications leading up to the event and is very professional, patient and friendly. We met with her at the venue and she provided us with a lot of good feedback. The day of, her and the rest of the Continental staff were very nice and helpful. The presentation of all of the food tables looked great. They provide all of the decorations on the buffet table and also the dessert table, even though we provided our own dessert. Their décor coordinated very well with the theme of our wedding and our other decorations.

If you are looking for a caterer for your event, I would highly suggest Yolanda and Continental Catering. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Continental Catering did such a fantastic job with our wedding. We had a small wedding of 25 people that started at 10:30 AM. It was held at Leo Carrillo Ranch. Because we were having a destination wedding, it was important to us to trust our vendors completely. We trusted Kristie from the first day. We never got the chance to do a tasting because of the distance, but I didn’t even sweat it! Our food was great. Continental Catering handled the food and furniture and staff! They had our site set up in plenty of time for a morning wedding and far exceeded my expectations! Kristie Emmons was SO responsive! She answered every question I had, and every question I never thought of! Continental Catering even added decor to the site and tables (a travel theme). She worked with us to get the perfect brunch menu. We had so many options for food. I had special requests when it came to what was being served as far as drinks (specialty tea and spa water stations) and bar options. They went above and beyond at our coffee station and had specialty mix-ins (cinnamon, chocolate, etc). We didn’t have a wedding cake out our reception, but instead Continental Catering had a live donut station with ice cream! It was a hit! We loved our beautiful food! Kristie even helped with logistics, since our ceremony and reception were in the exact same location. I wasn’t sure how to transition between the two (since the chairs used for the ceremony were also for the reception), and she had great ideas. I cannot thank Kristie and the Continental Catering team enough. They were so professional.

When my husband and I were looking for a wedding caterer we knew one thing above all else, it HAD to be delicious and it had to be filling. We had been to too many weddings were the food was forgettable, bland and we were always seeking a California burrito afterwards. We were also on a budget (who isn’t) and we could only use a set of pre-approved caterers for our venue. I’m so happy that Continental Catering was available for our wedding. The minute I met with Christie R. I knew we didn’t have to look any further. We chose to use food stations for our wedding. We brought my parents and sister to the tasting, and let’s just say my Filipino dad wasn’t all boned up for an all food station wedding since he had only done buffets or sit down (he’s old school). By our second food item, my dad was stuffed and he said if we didn’t choose continental, we’d make a mistake. On the day of the wedding we had a cheese and fruit appetizer set-up. Our stations were a slider station with pulled pork, shredded chicken, and Portobello; a pasta station with a choice of macaroni or penne pasta with vodka sauce and shrimp; and lastly the most amazing short ribs with mashed potatoes. Everything was fantastic! Like others say, our guests couldn’t stop talking about our food (even two months later!). Continental even set-up a dessert bar and a mimosa bar for us even if though we didn’t use their food items. They are sincerely the best caterers I have ever worked with. I can’t wait to throw another party and use them again!

Continental Catering catered our August wedding and they were amazing. I had the pleasure of working with Kristie from the initial phone conversation to the wedding day. Kristie was extremely helpful and really took the time to answer any questions that we had throughout the process. The food on our wedding day was amazing and our guests loved it! All of the appetizers and main entrees were delicious. The staff was great with our guests and having Kristie there really put me at ease. Not only is the food and service amazing, they are fairly priced compared to many other catering companies in the area. I would highly recommend them for your event!

We worked with Maria at Continental more than a year before our wedding as we were planning from overseas. I cannot even explain how incredibly professional, flexible, and accommodating this team was. We had a tight budget but Maria worked meticulously with us to ensure we had everything we wanted. She gave us an package price we could not ignore. We thought this might mean we would be sacrificing service or quality of food, but boy were we wrong! we have been getting non stop comments about how delicious the food was, and how lovely all of the staff was. Everything ran on time and they were prepared each step of the way (moving chairs and tables, etc). Our main concern was that our bar would have a line around the corner and we wanted to ensure guests had access to wine and beer as part of the package, Maria noted that as a priority and this was never an issue. She listened to us, and went far above and beyond what I imagined for the day. The wedding was absolutely flawless and I completely owe this to Maria and her team at continental.

I would like to first start off with how amazing Christie R. was with helping us plan for our big day! She went above and beyond on our wedding day. Thank you, Christie! The food was incredible, exactly how I remember it tasting when I had the tasting appt. with them! We knew food would be one of our biggest expense and we wanted to have great food but also we couldn't afford to break the bank, Continental was both affordable and great tasting. All of our guest talked about how good the food was. The staff was great and very attentive to our guest needs. The appetizers were beyond this world delicious! So grateful we chose Continental Catering.

We used Continental Catering for our daughter’s winery wedding. Christie and her staff were such a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. After our initial tasting, there were two items that I was unsure about, so Christie arranged a follow-up mini tasting and we honed in on the chicken entrée and appetizers that we wanted. I heard raves from our guests about the cheese display, the parmesan crisps with beef appetizers, and the braised short ribs with accompanying garlic mashed potatoes. The cheese station bears special mention, as the décor was lovely and the array of at least ten upscale cheeses, fig chutney, fruit and nuts was so inviting! Christie went above and beyond, catering to three different types of dietary restrictions for six of our guests. She used manzanita wood in the buffet design, knowing that it was part of the table centerpieces. And Christie even took pictures of a few key moments, then E-mailed them to me the next day. I would definitely use Continental again, as they were integral to making our celebration memorable!

Continental Catering was very easy to work with and exceedingly flexible with our requests. They let us customize bar package and worked to help us choose a delicious menu. The food was excellent - only problem was there weren't any leftovers;-).

Kristie and Continental Catering were perfect! Everything we wanted they made happen! The day was flawless, the food was fantastic, and Kristie was super helpful throughout the entire process! They were so professional very accomidating having already made a plate for my husband and I bringing it to the table. We were working on a budget and they made a delishes hawaian set up for our wedding. Everyone we talked too loved the food it was truly the best food at a wedding yet.

My guests are still talking about the food at the wedding!! We wanted our reception to be fun and energetic and facilitate the most amount of mingling possible. Continental came up with great ideas to help us achieve that. Instead of doing a formal sit down dinner, we chose a bunch of awesome appetizers set up in stations; we also had a few passed selections. Everyone loved it and complimented us on the variety and flavors of the options we chose. There was tons of food and it was a lot more fun for us and our guests! They were a pleasure to work with leading up to the wedding day and did a great job of making sure, as the bride, that I was eating! The onsite catering manager of the day personally delivered food to where my husband and I were standing and speaking to guests, and that kindness left a huge impression on me. They were fantastic!!

Continental Catering knocked it out of the park for our wedding. In addition to Denise's professionalism and responsiveness, the food was simply outstanding. I have been getting so many e-mails, phonecalls and comments from my guests about how much they loved the food. Maria was so helpful and very flexible to last minute changes. They really take the time to let you taste everything and make a unique menu for your day.

Kristie at Continental was great! She coordinated all of our rentals and made sure everything went smoothly during the planning and on our big day. And the food was AWESOME! Our guests loved it and my Grandma is still raving about the chicken breast (and she hates chicken breast normally!)

I definitely appreciate all that Kristie did - she had appetizers waiting for us as soon as the ceremony was over and kept sending waiters our way during our post-ceremony pictures. And when it was time for dinner, she had 2 big plates waiting for me and my husband.

They were great!

We had such an incredible experience with Continental! The food was AMAZING! We chose to go with a couple of food stations and all of our guests were so so happy with the options (and said it didn't feel at all like a "generic or cheap buffet" - which I was a bit worried about).

The hit was the Mashed Potato Martini Bar where guests could put their own personal favorites together. When I ask guests how they enjoyed the day, they often mention how fun the stations were.

The display was GORGEOUS, too! They worked so well with the style of our wedding and were able to make beautiful presentations for the different food areas.

We felt VERY taken care of during our day, as well. Kristie, our catering manager (LOVE HER), made sure that we had exactly the food & drink we needed at all times and I haven't heard any negative feedback from any of my guests. Everyone thought it was amazing!

I had actually been to a wedding that used Continental while I was prepping my wedding and was SO excited to eat their food again.

I was extremely impressed by the quality of the food and the professionalism of everyone from Continental Catering. Maria was especially helpful as we planned our menu and worked out the details. The decor in the buffet and appetizer areas completely fit in with the rest of our wedding decorations. Nearly all of our guests commented on how delicious the food was at the reception. Many were pleasently surprised that wedding food could taste so great. I would definitely hire Continental Catering to cater future events!

This was one of my favorite vendors! They were so amazing! Their food was delicious, and their displays were phenomenal! I had guests asking who our caterer was because they wanted to use them for events. I really can't stress enough how delicious their food was and how beautifully it was presented. Their staff went above and beyond to make sure our wedding went smoothly and beautifully. Their staff is very quick, friendly and extremely helpful. I would recommend this caterer a thousand times over!

I can't even begin to describe the fabulous job that Paul and everyone at Continental did for us. We are from Texas, so choosing vendors was a little scary. But with the recommendation of the event planner at our venue, we decided to go with Continental Caterers. From the beginning, they were very willing to work with us to get into a price range that we needed, and had hundreds of items to choose from to make up the menu. During the wedding, Paul took great care of us making sure that we were able to eat everything that we had chosen and always had full glasses (of water OR wine). All of our guests raved about how wonderful the food was, and if I had to do it all over again...I would choose Continental Caterers.

The ladies at Continental Catering gave me the most amazing experience. I just celebrated my third anniversary, and people as STILL talking about the reception. The meeting and discussion part I was nervous about and was put immediately at ease. The presentation was flawless. Absolutely amazing. And the taste, well, the crab cakes were awesome (I never got one, flitting around like an idiot), the entrees were PERFECT, the wait staff was on top the entire time, kept the whole thing moving, it was seamless, the bartender kept up with a pretty high demand. I'm having a landmark birthday very soon, and I'll hire them again to do the food for that.

My venue only allows them onto their boats, as they are old and part of a museum. So I didn't have a choice to use them, but after I worked with them, I was glad the decision was made for me. :)

The food was so great. The displays went with the theme and venue of the wedding, which I couldn't have dreamed up myself. The food was so delcious: I couldn't get over it.

Continental Catering was wonderful - from the beautiful displays, delicious foods, and overall ease to work with, I feel incredibly lucky we hired them for our wedding in April. Everyone LOVED the food and all we've been hearing is high praise from our guests. Additionally, the staff that night was super attentive from beginning to end.

We worked with Christie who was always quick to respond and provided options when we had to rework our budget a bit. Additionally, she made sure the extra local touches we requested (my husband is from Chicago and I'm from NY) were handled and set up perfectly. She is so great, she even hung around to snap a picture of me and my dad prior to him walking me down the aisle :).

We truly appreciate their hard work, delicious food, beautiful displays, and professionalism!

Yolanda was so patient and helpful over the course of the year that we spent organizing the catering for our wedding reception. We had a couple of tastings to select the appetizers and entrees, where we were able to ask questions and make adjustments so that the food suited our tastes. We selected seared scallops, sliders, and beef brochettes for appetizers, and salmon with sweet potato pancake, beef tenderloin with vegetables, and chicken adobo over rice for our station entrees. We cannot think of a better meal to have eaten on our wedding day! Our guests can't stop talking about how delicious all of the food was, which is pretty unheard of for most of the weddings I've been to.

In fact, Yolanda and the chefs worked closely with us to make the chicken adobo, a dish that is dear to our hearts. While all of the food was fabulous, the chicken adobo was especially impressive and was a big hit with all of our guests. Even my relatives from the Philippines approved!

Not only was the food on point, but the staff was also very professional and attentive to us and our guests. We received plenty of food at our sweetheart table and even had a warm plate to replace the food that got cold after we took photos with guests.

Cost of food is probably the largest expense for a wedding, so it was a very important decision for us. We opted for 3 food stations and paid for 1 hour of overtime and I feel like we got a lot of value for what we paid. We booked Continental Catering because they were responsive, flexible, make delicious food, and worked with us to customize our menu.

I would highly recommend Continental Catering for any event, especially for weddings. Having a fantastic meal was one of our goals for our wedding and Continental Catering definitely delivered!

Delicious food!

Since our wedding, we've received so many compliments from guests about how good the food was. We loved the variety of flavors and appetizers. The staff was great and they even made sure my husband and I got appetizers while we were busy taking photos during the cocktail hour.

We had Continental cater our wedding on March 19, 2016 at Orfila Winery. We received tons of compliments on the food from our wedding. Christie was so great to work with and really made everything so easy. She also connected us with other vendors and communicated easily with our wedding coordinator and took me out as the middleman which I greatly appreciated! Everyone loved the potatoes au gratin especially. Christie was great during the tasting. We added a 3rd entree because we also wanted fish and she did not push it at all. In fact, she thought we had enough food, so she was not after the bottom line of charging us more, but more concerned about the final result of our big day. Service did slow down toward the end of the evening and I stopped receiving wine or water at our sweetheart table and we had a hiccup/confusion about serving the cake, but other than the expected small oopsies when in events, we were overall very pleased and would absolutely recommend this caterer!

My husband and I booked Continental Catering to cater our cocktail hour and reception at the Scripps Seaside Forum last month. We were nervous booking them because we were planning the wedding from across the country and didn't have a chance to taste the food before we booked it. Catering is by far the most expensive part of a wedding, and we really cared about getting food that tasted good, as we've been to weddings where that was not the case.

We did get to do a tasting after we booked over the holidays, and this put us at ease. The food was DELICIOUS. And at the wedding, they did not disappoint! Everyone loved it! We had a cheese and charcuterie station and hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour, a plated salad and food stations during the reception, and a late night snack of french fries. All went perfectly and tasted great. Several guests told us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding.

Yolanda and the others I worked with leading up to the wedding were also great, very responsive, and worked with me design-wise too so that the food stations and displays would match the theme of the wedding.

I definitely recommend!

Continental is well priced with good food. We worked with Kristie Emmons who was very helpful and let us do two tastings since in the beginning we couldn't decide. She was very responsive to our concerns and made sure everything was perfect. We had a buffet at our wedding for 125 people, and the food was delicious and hot! It did not get cold and all of our guests enjoyed it. They also matched their table decor to our overall wedding decor which was nice as well.

Everyone at our wedding told us how amazing the food was. From the appetizers during cocktail hour to the main meal and the ice cream sundae bar, it was delicious. Maria was so flexible with my requests and was able to accommodate all of the changes that I made to the menu. We were living in Central CA while planning our wedding and so instead of attending one of their organized tastings, she put an assortment of our menu together and we were able to have my mom pick up the food and bring it to us when she came to visit. The tasting was amazing and enough to serve at least 8 people!! Everything was hot, delicious and beautiful on our wedding day!

I will preface this review with a disclosure- I am a bit of a foodie. So for me, finding a delicious catering company was really important in my wedding planning. I couldn't be happier with Continental. The food was amazing and my guests were very pleased with their meals! I was very impressed after the first tasting. They allow you to select a number of their hors d'oeuvres, salads and entrees to sample- and the serving sizes are ginormous! They are pretty transparent during this tasting and let you know that serving sizes will be smaller for the actual event, but taste will not be compromised. Kristie E. was my point person- she was great to work with and even welcomed me back for a second tasting so I could finalize my menu. They cook on site at the event, which means that food is as warm as can be. I just wish I was able to eat all of my plate- it's true what they say- the bride and groom do not have enough time to eat. Continental's food was so tasty I was super bummed that I only ate half of my filet mignon and swordfish with au gratin potatoes. All in all, I would highly recommend Continental in a heartbeat- your guests deserve a tasty warm meal!

Can't say enough about Continental - they did a terrific job for our party. Maria worked with us on station menus and appetizers, and everything turned out great - our guests are still raving about the food! I wish I could have enjoyed more of it, but like most hosts ad hostesses, we were busy mingling with all of our guests. Maria and her team were great - the event staff was so friendly. And the decorations they brought for the station areas and cocktail hour were incredible!! Went perfectly with our theme. They were doing a big kitchen remodel in the weeks leading up to our event, so my husband and I weren't able to do a tasting, but we figured with all of the great reviews here on Wedding Wire, we wouldn't be disappointed. We were thrilled. Can't wait to have another big party so we can use Continental again!!

We and our guests loved the food. Continental Catering has an excellent and diverse menu for couples to build their own spread of food for receptions. Food was definitely fresh and well prepared and set up/clean up was quick & professional!

I ended up having a family friend cater my event, but I had been in touch with Continental on and off for months. They were so responsive to all my emails and phone calls, which I really appreciated. If I didn't have the family friend come through, I would have booked Continental. They really impressed me with their professionalism, so I thought I would let people know what a great experience I had with them. I have been recommending them to all my friends.

Continental Catering and Ashley Rose were so great for our Wedding Reception! They were really accommodating with our requests, and definitely wanted to make sure we had the best experience. The day of the wedding, and I'm sure many brides can relate, you barely have time to try any of the food, but Ashley made sure to grab me a plate of the amazing mushroom quesadilla and veggie rolls! It was really sweet and thoughtful.
The overall presentation and delivery of the food was fantastic. Many of our guest complimented us on the food and drink at the wedding. They were also great about accommodating any dietary restrictions for our guests. They made specialty cocktails for us that were really fresh and original.
The added twist to our wedding was that we planned it in five months, and Continental did not bat an eye at the fact that we were on a tighter schedule than most. They worked with us, communicated well and delivered amazing results. We truly want to thank Ashley and her team for helping create a wonderful day for me and my husband and our guests. If you're looking for a caterer, look no further than Continental Catering.

We hired Continental to cater our wedding. They had the best tasting food and most competitive prices of the dozen or more caterers we talked to so we were extremely happy to find them! They were one of the approved caterers for our venue (Scripps Seaside Forum) and it was reassuring knowing our caterer was an expert hosting events there. Many of our other vendors told us how professional and great Continental was, so we knew we made the right choice!

We worked closely with Christie Radican who patiently went through many menu and rental adjustments with us. She was so pleasant to work with and everything turned out beyond our expectations! The table decor that Continental set up for our appetizers, dinner stations, and dessert stations were beautiful and really added to the fun and modern mood of our wedding. She also worked some magic and surprised us with the amazing midnight blue sequin tablecloths I had dreamed of.

Our guests raved about the food and all of the staff and chefs were very friendly and professional. Sometimes couples don't get to eat at their own wedding but Continental and our coordinator made sure we got to eat dinner and not get hangry. We had appetizers, 3 food stations, and a dessert station (amazing s'mores!!) that were all killer. Highly recommend!

Perfectly executed our vision for our wedding. Continental made all of our guests happy, and managed to impress the foodie bride and groom. They accommodated our late changes, and really worked with us to give us exactly what we wanted. The quality was excellent, and the service was good too. The only complaint that I had was that my plate got cleared too soon - as the bride I was constantly getting up and talking to someone (trust me I would have rather been eating) and one of the waiters took my plate of delicious skewers :( But everything was great and I'd use them again without a second thought.

We had mexican food and it was delicious. They also include decor for the food tables which looked like it was from a bridal magazine. They were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend them without a doubt.

The food was delicious! Everyone raved about both the hors d'oeuvres and the buffet dinner. We also did all of our rentals and station table decor with them. It was beautiful. About a week before the wedding, our original cupcake supplier fell through and we no longer had the cupcake stand upon ordering new cupcakes. Based on the other decor we discussed, they created something using decor and plates they had on hand. It looked amazing. Kristie Emmons was incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process and was mindful of our budget without condescending like some other caterers had.

Continental Catering is a great choice for a wedding. The food we chose was simple, but delicious. Our guests continue to compliment us on the food. They are incredible flexible when it comes to choosing your menu and really worked with our strict budget. They provided all of the linens, barware, silverware and china for our wedding and their food displays are gorgeous.

Kristie was really great to work with as well. She was very flexible and responsive in answering all of my crazy questions. I'd definitely recommend Continental to other couples--they are a great value for the wonderful food they provide.

Setting up with the catering coordinator Maria was very good. She was very helpful and help us save costs. Wait staff did forget to fill glasses for toast, broke a vase from one of my center pieces, and forgot to bring lemonade for the children. I was overall okay with everything and had a positive experience. Everything can not always be perfect>

We had to go with a preferred caterer for our wedding, and while this created a little more expense for us, it was really worth it for the food at Continental. When we were first signing our contract and getting things set up with them, the communication was a little lacking, but after that and on our wedding day they were absolutely wonderful. Our guests loved the beautiful buffet style setup they did and everyone went back for second helpings of the delicious food. They give you a lot more than other caterers in the area for a little less money and also had much better value on table linens and cutlery.

Continental was our 2nd choice for our caterer at our reception in Sept. 09. Kristi, the relationship manager, was SO flexible and accomodating. They let us schedule a tasting when my mom and my husband could join. And they were willing to include candles, linens, chairs, etc. Unfortunately their food was not as fresh and didn't taste as homeade as the caterer's work who we chose (hence the lower rating for Quality above.) We got the impression that several of the sauces were out of a can. And they wouldn't make our dessert for the tasting (we didn't have cake.) But for the price and flexibility, Continental would be a great option for any bride and groom!

The food was good and they worked with us in our budget. Our bartender was excellent. we had cocktail recepetion and the mac/cheese martini station is highly recommended. They packed up all our alcohol, which we provided, along with our cake. What minor issues we had were resolved. They are accomodating and easy to work with. Definitely check them out!

My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised to discover that the food was better at the reception than it had been at the tasting. At the tasting we thought, "Eh, it's wedding food. Can't expect much." At the reception we thought, "Dang! This is pretty good! Better than the first time!". Our guests were happy, we were happy. I would recommend them.

Their food and displays were top notch, with reasonable prices, but definitely lacking in customer service at a crucial time when we were trying to select a caterer. I think the catering managers are just overworked and can’t easily get to email, but that was pretty frustrating for us when we wanted to pay them and it took weeks to get the invoice for what we’d discussed on a previous call! But, everything turned out just perfect for our wedding day and we got so many compliments about the food.

Pros:
• Delicious, high quality food
• Huge variety and flexibility/customization of the food offered for plated meals, buffets and stations – we were incredibly pleased with everything from the cocktail hour apps to the dinner stations we selected to the dessert
• Beautiful displays
• Very reasonable prices that were somewhat negotiable; we talked to other vendors and we thought their food selections and prices were the best (we didn’t do any tastings prior to picking the caterer)
• Very familiar with our venue (Orfila Winery) and was able to recommend where to put the stations, the cocktail table belly bars, etc.

Cons:
While the food and service during our wedding was great, we had a really hard time with the catering manager’s service before the wedding. It took her weeks to reply to our emails and we always had to email again to ask for a response. Then after a somewhat lengthy phone conversation about the food for our tasting, we show up and she for some reason thought we were only there to taste the apps. I almost had a panic attack as we’d flown to San Diego for the weekend and weren’t coming back before the wedding; same with my groom’s parents! She fixed everything but that was not a great first impression. As the wedding got closer, she was a bit more responsive, but I really struggled with this one as vendors shouldn’t take weeks to reply to emails!

We hired Continental Catering for our rehearsal dinner, and I will say that on the day of the event, they did a great job. The food was good and everything was set up perfectly. Leading up to that, however, we did not have the best experience.
I worked with Christie for most of the time, and I did not feel great about the experience. First, when I originally called to request information about their services, I was left out in the cold. It was almost like she expected me to call them with an already finished idea of exactly what I needed. I was not asked any questions about the event, only told "we're going to need a lot more information to give you a price quote", without any follow up questions. I was not guided through the process at all, and had to ask probing questions about what they needed from me in order to get the process started. Once we started choosing menus, the different packages were not explained or easily understandable. I had to request different menu combinations and then try to interpret short email replies from Christie about what our options were. We finally set up a tasting (that was more of a meal confirmation than a sampling of options, as we had to nail down our exact menu before the tasting for some reason), only for Christie to not show up, and tell us that Yolanda was now our point of contact. This was not the worst news in the world, as Yolanda seemed much more organized and responsive. She did a great job for the rest of the coordination, asking us questions about how we wanted the night to go and giving us options to choose from.
Overall, the food was good and set up beautifully, but we would not use Continental again. Once we were transferred, Yolanda did a great job of making sure our night went well, but the entire process before that seemed unorganized and difficult.
