Chris was so easy to work with, coordinated our wedding photos with ease, and the pictures came out beautifully. He captured all the formal photos we wanted and the candids were a great reflection of our day! These are precious memories that we’ll cherish forever. -

Chris was great to work with and made both of us feel very comfortable on our wedding day while taking tons of photos. Neither of us are very comfortable "modeling" for photos and Chris was very helpful with direction for posing etc. but definitely not too controlling either. I love the way all the photos turned out with the editing style and everything. We got all our photos back about a month after the wedding date, with an easy to use link to view everything online. -

I had the pleasure of working with Chris for my own wedding last month, as well as my sister's wedding earlier this year. He is truly amazing. His work is beautiful and he's so flexible and easy to work with. I would 100% hire him again for any photography needs and I will definitely recommend him to anyone I know.
Chris is professional, but very personable. My family and my husband's family are both super awkward and absolutely UN-photogenic. We have never been able take nice photos because someone always manages to ruin it. Chris was able to make us all feel comfortable and look great in every photo, especially the portraits which I was most worried about (it is just so hard to fake smile for the camera!). He knew exactly how to pose us and get us laughing/moving so that everything seemed natural. On top of that, his work is beautiful. The photos turned out even better than I could have hoped for. We gave him free reign, and he was able to envision and direct us to get some stunning shots of us. We all look amazing and there are so many really beautiful, artistic shots that I cannot wait to hangup on the wall in our house.
As I mentioned earlier, Chris is also super easy to work with. He's very responsive to emails and quick to offer his advice on anything wedding related. He also setup a few calls with us to find out more about us and what we wanted, which I appreciated and helped to get us a bit more comfortable. On the wedding day, he arrived right on time and stuck with us all day long. We hardly noticed him during the ceremony & reception, but he was busy snapping away and we got fantastic candids of everyone and all the big moments.
I am so happy with how all of our photos turned out and with our decision to hire Chris. He is truly amazing and you won't regret choosing him! -

G Sent on 02/05/2016We just received our wedding photos from Chris Howard, and think they are absolutely fantastic. We searched for a long time to find the right wedding photographer and we wanted to find someone that had the ability to capture the emotion of the event in a beautiful manner. When we looked through Chris’s portfolio we found his pictures not only aesthetically pleasing, but we felt as if we were physically there at the events he photographed because he captured the reactions, the excitement, and the emotions that flow through a wedding.
Our wedding was quite tricky to photograph because both the ceremony and reception were held indoors at the Westin St. Francis. Compounded by the fact that it was also rainy and cloudy made us concerned that our photographs would be dim and lackluster due to the lack of natural lighting. Chris is talented at what he does because our photos turned out wonderful - very radiant and lively.
Chris’s style of photography is journalistic, so even though he shadowed us around all day and night we felt in our natural state in front of the camera, and he was able to capture very touching moments. He is talented in both candid and posed shots, and does a good mix of both.
Chris sent us our photos in two increments - one set of photos Chris handpicks to edit, and another set of photos contains all the originals. Chris took over 2,000 photos, and we really liked having both the edited photos and the original photos. When we looked through the photos, we were astounded at all the numerous moments Chris photographed. We felt as if he was superhuman in some way, running from room to room, always being right there when something important was to happen.
Not only is Chris Howard talented at capturing moments, but also is extremely nice, and passionate about what he does. A family friend also photographed the wedding and Chris was extremely patient and courteous the whole time. We would love to work with him again.

Since my husband I dont live in the Sacramento area, Chris was really flexible with us when we needed to take our engagement photos as well as meeting up with him before the wedding. He was really easy to get ahold of through email and phone, could not have been any better. He really takes his job seriously and wants to make sure that you have the best shot, which the pictures we have from our engagement shoot are amazing!!! His work is incredible and I cannot wait to see what our wedding pictures look like. If you want a photographer who is down to earth and really works with you to get the most amazing photo, go with Chris. You will NOT be disappointed! -

Kaylen Sent on 09/28/2011If you are considering Chris as your wedding photographer, don't hesitate for a second! Book him immediately! We had a great experience with him and are THRILLED with our pictures! People can't stop raving about them.
Chris was very adaptable to our slightly unusual wedding (we didn't really do traditional family portraits, or a garter toss, bouquet toss, or cake cutting). What we got was an absolutely unique collection of pictures taken from beautiful angles, capturing all the colors of the wedding with unaltered lighting, and showing people having a great time! I cannot believe how good even his UNEDITED pictures came out! That's how great he was at capturing everything from the get go.
My husband and I spent about 45 minutes with Chris walking around town taking pictures while everyone else was at dinner and it was a blast! Chris had no problem directing us and stopping us for a few photos whenever he saw a great place (this was much appreciated as we can be pretty awkward about stuff like this). Some examples of his direction are his idea of capturing us "walking down the aisle" of a quickie-mart (so our style!) and a really great Beatle's Abbey Road-esque photo while the sun was setting behind us. And my all time favorite of the night was when we heard a bluegrass band playing on a restaurant patio and we took a few shots of us dancing in the middle of the patio while all the diners watched. Best moment of the whole wedding!
I have NEVER thought of myself as a photogenic person, but so many of the photos Chris took made me feel beautiful--like model status, honestly!
And, one of the very best parts is that Chris gives you every single photo he takes all day long in a beautiful box that's so cool I can't even describe it. I cannot tell you how great this is because then it's up to you to choose which photos you want to blow up and frame in your house or use on your thank you cards or whatever! I could never understand why so many photographers only give you like 200 pictures that they choose or something crazy like that. And finally, you can order a gorgeous, hand-made-in-Italy, bound album of your best photos if you choose to. Again, I love the way Chris has his business set up-- he doesn't include the album as a mandatory part of his package, so you can save money if that's an issue.
All in all, we had a great time, are in love with our photos, and couldn't be much happier! -

On March 20th 2020, my Fiancee and I decided to do a very small backyard wedding (10 people) amidst this COVID-19, we had planned on this date for years so there was no backing out for us. Chris Howard decided to cancel on us the night prior due to his wife having a fever. Understandable, but when we inquired about getting out $500 deposit back, he got nasty. His excuse then changed, saying it was against the law for him to leave the house and that we were breaking the law by having our wedding...
In the end he canceled on us, keeping our $500 deposit. We were baffled by the lack of integrity this man has. I just hope nobody else risks this situation by hiring him after reading this.
