Wonderful from start to finish

My partner and I worked with Shyamala in the creation of our recent wedding ceremony. Working with Shyamala was a total pleasure from start to finish. She is a very special person, who makes you feel cherished and held as a couple. We wanted an intentional, customized wedding ceremony, but didn’t have the time or expertise to create it ourselves from scratch. Over our Zoom sessions, she made the effort to get to know us as a couple, our personal backgrounds and the story of how we came together. She provided us with many different ideas for meaningful rituals that we could incorporate into our ceremony. She has gathered many different readings on love. We read through them and then chose one that spoke to us. Using the pieces that we discussed in our sessions and her own beautiful writing, Shyamala composed a bespoke and meaningful ceremony for us. We had some things we wanted to add or clarify in the editing process and Shyamala was very open to making changes.

Shyamala worked closely with our chosen officiant through Zoom sessions and email. Our officiant said that she felt very supported and therefore capable to lead the wedding ceremony–something she had never done before. In the end, all the pieces came together beautifully. We felt great about how it turned out and we also received many comments on how personalized and special it was. We can’t thank Shyamala enough for her support in making this a reality!

Shyamala made our day perfect!!

When we met Shyamala, we knew immediately she was the right person to marry us. She has a warm, calming presence that set the tone perfectly for our ceremony, and put my now husband and I at ease. She is such a lovely and genuine person. She was super easy to work with and had lots of great ideas. She took the time to get to know us so it didn't feel like we were getting married by a stranger, but more like a friend. We didn't realize it at the time, but Shyamala had married two of my friends within the last 7 or 8 years. She recognized them in the crowd during the wedding. THAT'S how much of a connection she makes with her couples. And they were just as happy with her as we were. Book her early though--she's very popular and in high demand!

A warm, thoughtful partner in our ceremony

Shyamala officiated our wedding and did a terrific job. When we first reached out to Shyamala, she set up time with us to learn about our family's customs, how we wanted to modernize them, and how it would influence her narrative. In a timely manner, she produced a draft of her speech and collaborated with us on weaving it into the ceremony's timeline of events. During the ceremony, Shyamala did a great job to make us feel comfortable in the moment. We'd highly recommend her as an officiant.

Beautiful Day!

Shyamala was just a delight! She helped us with all the out-of-state information we needed and was very flexible about accommodating us with time, licensing, etc. The ceremony was just beautiful and was everything we hoped for. She is wonderfully inspirational and knew just how to make our wedding day special. We hope to go to her for a renewal day. She is very special.

Shyamala is the best!

We have nothing but great things to say about Shyamala Littlefield and her role in our wedding in June. We were initially nervous about trying to navigate family expectations for our ceremony while still being true to ourselves, but it was immediately clear working with Shyamala that she has the experience and the compassion to navigate just about any modern-day ceremony like ours. She did a fantastic job of assembling a personalized and coherent ceremony after meeting with her at her home. She was responsive and collaborative as our ideas matured about what we wanted, and she encouraged us in our efforts to make our own nerdy science demonstration unity ceremony by writing the very much needed first draft. She was perfectly prepared on the day-of, she did a great job during the ceremony, and we were so pleased with how it all turned out.

The response we heard in the following weeks from friends and family was telling. Everyone loved the ceremony, and many made specific mention of how much they liked our officiant in particular. Shyamala is the best!

She made our wedding ceremony a memorable one!

Simply put, we were lucky to have found Shyamala to be our wedding officiant! We wanted to do something simple and the court seemed like an obvious choice. However, fate intervened and we were forced to find a place to get married over a weekend. And our internet search brought us to Ceremonies for Sacred Days and Shyamala. It was like finding a major upgrade from mundane to something very special!

Shyamala has all the personality traits you would want in a wedding officiant. She is thoughtful, articulate, well-read, and clearly well-traveled! Add to this her experience of nearly 600 weddings and professionalism and you have got yourself a true Master of the Ceremony.

My wife and I chose the elopement package. We were to be wed in her backyard winter garden, however, it rained and Shyamala was kind enough to open her living room to us. The words she spoke were touching and beautiful! The ceremony was such a treat!

Tip: Go prepared with a plan on how you want to make a video or take pictures. We were a little under-prepared and Shyamala made some adjustments for us so that we could rest our camera on a table to record the video. Buy or borrow a tripod that fits your camera/phone so you can capture the special moments without any worry.

A ceremony we will remember for years to come!

Shyamala Littlefield was and outstanding officiant for our wedding. We had about 175 people in attendance. She was able to personalize our service and really focus on what we wanted the ceremony to be. Those attending thought that it was the best ceremony they had ever been too. The Most Personalized, Respectful, and Fun Process

We both come from different religions (we're Hindu and Jain) and wanted to create a ceremony that respected both as well as our values of equality. Shyamala made sure that she read about our wants/needs/values beforehand in great deal, then invited us to her home to meet with her and discuss more in person. Immediately we found her to be warm, personable, very knowledgable, and very respectful of different religions. Every time we spoke, she was extremely prepared and helped us co-create the perfect ceremony. She was willing to work with us in our Google Doc too! Our ceremony would not have been as special without her fantastic input (including pieces like writing our story into the ceremony, and explaining traditions to our guests in an easy-to-understand way). This whole part of planning had originally made me nervous because the ceremony is so important and can go so wrong, but Shyamala made it one of the most fun and meaningful. On the day of our wedding (as well as the rehearsal the day before), she brought a peaceful and spiritual force and we felt so calm and happy. After the wedding, we had a small mixup with the marriage certificate after the fact, but Shyamala made sure to take care of it too.

Truly empathetic and creative officiant

Absolutely perfect

Shyamala was the perfect choice to perform our ceremony at the Brazilian Room. She crafted and delivered the perfect ceremony for us and several people commented on how beautiful and true to the two of us it was.

Working with her was an absolute pleasure every step of the way. She really has a talent for asking the right questions and sensing who you are as individuals and as a couple, then reflecting that in your ceremony. She has curated a wonderful selection of readings and rituals to give you some ideas for things to incorporate in your ceremony, but is also skilled at bringing in any other ideas you might have. She sent us a draft of our ceremony two weeks out (which made me cry the first time I read it, tip: don't read it at work) then worked with us from there to make it perfect.

Afterwards, she gave us a printed copy of our beautiful ceremony to look back at forever.

My husband and I were beyond satisfied with choosing Shyamala to officiate our wedding. The guests were in tears and commented on how unique and heart felt the ceremony experience was. Shyamala was well organized and created space and time to learn our stories with coffee and cookies at her place. We knew instantly that receiving her special care and dedication early on foreshadowed what to expect for our wedding. I am pleased we chose Shyamala and she chose us back. Heart, soul and 'real' - the best officiant you could ask for!

Shyamala was absolutely great to work with! We talked to 4 different officiants before our wedding and she was certainly the most "real" and sincere one. You can tell she truly loves what she is doing and puts all her heart and soul into it.

She took a lot of time to get to know us and our story. That allowed her to customize the ceremony to our needs and make it in a very personal manner. We felt that a lot of the other officiants have their standard agenda that they do and are not willing to change it up much.

But Shyamala wrote a ceremony that was tailored to us. She allowed us to provide enough input and always guided us effectively. We loved that perfect balance of being open to our ideas but also ensuring that the whole ceremony would work out as a whole.

Our guests loved the ceremony and some asked if she was a friend of ours since she put so much heart and warmth in it. We couldn't have been more happy with choosing her!

Perfect Fit for Our Special Day

We found Shyamala while looking on line at the Knot website. Shyamala was listed as "the best of", so we contacted her to see if she would be a fit for the ceremony we wanted. We did a Skype meeting and had an initial discussion with her. After we met, we knew she would be a perfect fit for our wedding. We told Shyamala "our story" and she cleverly inserted the story into our ceremony. She provided excellent references for us to chose from and modify so that we could make the ceremony unique to us. The references included sample vows and ring exchange statements as well as quotations and poems. When working on our ceremony together, we enjoyed the flexibility of her schedule to meet with us on Skype during the evening hours and weekends. After the ceremony, we received several comments from our family and wedding guests who said that they really enjoyed the ceremony. Shyamala was the "perfect fit" for our wedding.

Hands down, the best wedding officiant

From the moment Shyamala answered the phone I knew she was meant to be our wedding officiant. She was warm, kind, thorough and genuinely interested in us as a couple. We didn't have a particular type of ceremony in mind and she was able to offer such beautiful suggestions for readings, vows and rituals that really helped us create a custom wedding ceremony that felt personal and special. And meeting her in person was like seeing an old friend again. Her warmth, caring and knowledge creates the perfect space for an amazing ceremony to unfold. Shyamala Littlefield is a rare jewel! A precious gem.

Shyamala is a guide of hearts, a director of love and a producer of poems! Above and beyond! She authored the most stunning and loving ceremony we’ve ever experienced! Generosity of spirit was the thread woven throughout the whole process. There was so much giving and at the same time so much space that the end result was a tailor-made story that everyone in attendance felt and got to be a part of.

Shyamala made it a lot of fun too! Her upbeat nature permeated the entire process. It’s almost like she “authored” our special day. Scripting out an experience rather than just an event is the only way to describe it.

Amazing Officiant experience!!!

Shyamala was absolutely amazing at our wedding! We could not have been happier! Finding the perfect officiant was very important to us. We wanted someone who would take the time to get to know us and our story and make the ceremony personal- and Shyamala did exactly that. She was even more amazing than we could have asked for. She reached out to us several times and truly got to know us and our love story. The ceremony was so personal and she made it exactly what we dreamed of. Not to mention that after the wedding, so many of our guests told us how personable Shyamala was with them prior to the ceremony. She engaged with the guests and made them laugh and feel welcome to the ceremony.

Amazing officiant!

We first heard of Shyamala through our wedding planner since we were having a Napa Valley destination wedding and are originally from Boston. We relied a lot on recommendations from our planner as she had worked with many vendors and was more familiar with the area then we were. When researching Shyamala, the first thing we did was listen to a video she had posted on her website. We absolutely fell in love with her voice – there is just something so calming and soft about it – that we knew we had to speak with her. Knowing that we would both be filled with nerves and anxiety on the big day it was important we felt calm with our officiant during the ceremony. We quickly booked a phone conversation with her (no video chat or Skype) and in the first five minutes we spoke we knew she was the perfect fit for us!
Since we were from Boston, we wanted to meet her in person at least once before our September wedding so we mentioned we would be flying out to Napa for some wedding events (food tasting, cake tasting, etc) in February and she offered us over to her home for coffee and cookies (so sweet)! We met with her for an hour and just talked as she got to know us as a couple and our journey together over the last 10 years. After we left we just felt even more validated that we chose the perfect person to officiate our wedding.
Our wedding in September was a dream come true and the ceremony was absolutely perfect!! Shyamala did such an amazing job that we actually had several guests come up to us throughout the evening and still to this day comment about how great of a job she did and how it was one of the best wedding ceremonies they’ve ever seen!
If you’re in search of an officiant in the Napa/Northern Cali area please do yourself a favor and book Shyamala – you will not be disappointed!!

Lovely ceremony with Shyamala

The ceremony Shyamala put together for us was perfect. We met first with her over Skype and liked her right away, then later we had a longer conversation at her home over coffee and tea. She held no preconceptions about how the ceremony should go, but did a great job of guiding us through the many possibilities. She asked us great questions to find the right tone for the ceremony and learn about us as a couple, and then she wove it into a meaningful and personal ceremony that captured us extremely well. We had many guests compliment us on a ceremony that was very "us" and asked how we knew this officiant who seemed to know us so well. We would highly recommend her.

Last minute request yielded exceptional results!

We are a couple based in NYC who were married in the Bay Area. Imagine our disappointment when my husband's best friend of 25 years couldn't be our officiant, as planned, ONE WEEK before the wedding! Needless to say, we were scrambling! I looked around and contacted a few different officiants in the area. Once I spoke with Shyamala, I knew we were done looking. Time was of the essence and she was prompt in her response. Others were also, but there was a calm in her voice and patience behind her words. I felt that she understood the urgency, but was going to take her time completely to make it as special as we were looking for. We interviewed at her house where she asked detailed questions and took notes. At her idea, we forwarded some "notes" our friend had drafted to keep the ceremony personal. Obviously, we knew the feel or tone of the ceremony we wanted but hadn't prepared anything ourselves. We are "spiritually ambiguous", and she knew exactly how to phrase the love and destiny type stuff to make it genuine and heartfelt. She was ready with special readings, poems, sayings, the vows, and quotes we could add. We were both able to look over what she had prepared and edit, days prior to the ceremony, while she kept our "personal statements" as surprises to one another. She added a touching tribute to his mother that made her cry (more). The day of, I didn't see or hear from her at all until I was walking down the aisle. PERFECT and in my opinion very professional. Her cadence and pace was perfect. Words and disposition matched our feel completely. In less than a week, we got a really nicely done ceremony put together AND I really like how she printed the ceremony and our vows out on heavy stock paper. Price was very reasonable. Overall, Shyamala is a kind and caring individual. Her personality shone through without adding too much or taking away from US. Very happy with our decision.

We are so happy that Shyamala was the officiant at our wedding. From beginning to end, she was super easy to talk to and helpful with the whole process of planning our ceremony. She made it easy for us to get in touch and meet with her.

She had a lot of examples and suggestions for us to look at to get an idea of what we wanted. When we had an idea of what we envisioned for our ceremony, Shyamala went out of her way to help us incorporate any religious or cultural components we wanted to include.

It was very easy and comfortable to talk to her. She even encouraged us to make our ceremony something that fit us as a couple, instead of outside expectations. We are so thankful to have had Shyamala as our wedding officiant. The first time we met her, we already knew she'd be just the right fit for our wedding ceremony. My husband Tom and I couldn’t be happier with the wedding ceremony that Shyamala put together for us.

I found Shyamala online and interviewed two different officiants. Tom and I interviewed her together and she stood out as being prepared and knowledgeable. Little did I know how much more was to come.

Shyamala spent time with us on Skype to go through options, helped us define our preferences and gave us ideas as to vows that we could use, alter, or mash-up. The end result was a ceremony that was entirely ours.

Shyamala showed up early to our venue and stayed in the background until it was time for her to take over. Once on stage, she masterfully guided the ceremony, making it all about us and our guests, and in concluding, introducing us as a couple to our family and friends in a heartfelt and loving way.

Every single guest commented on the ceremony and we have unreservedly referred her to others. To her list of accolades, I would add professional, thoughtful, warm and ingratiating. I know now how lucky we were to find her.

Shyamala was superb for our wedding. She is a prime example of an excellent wedding officiant. She did not put any pressure on karla and I and how we wanted to conduct our wedding vision. Best part of her was she made both of us feel super comfortable and confident. Shyamala even added a few incorporations and recommendations to see our thoughts and it was very complimenting as well.

We lost our previous wedding officiant about 3 months before our wedding due to her son's acceptance for college. We found shyamala through Yelp few days after. If you believe first impressions are real and true, you will see that with shyamala. We met her at her house and the interview was awesome. She made us feel welcomed and at home; made us cookies and tea and wanted to hear our story of how karla and I met.

She also performed a free service for us where we got married before our actual reception date and her backyard is gorgeous. Shyamala; I have no regrets or no negative thoughts of you. You were amazing. I even accidentally wanted to kiss my wife a little too fast before the ceremony and shyamala made it cute and funny to accommodate that. Thank you so much for everything.

Shyamala made our wedding ceremony incredibly special! The expertise she brought to her trade made us feel comfortable from the very first conversation. We shared deeper, more meaningful things about our relationship than we had with any other officiant we interviewed, because she asked "the right" questions. This was extremely important, as we were really struggling with whether to hire a professional or to ask a family member/friend who knew us more intimately. Through her thoughtful questioning, Shymala got to know the two of us and our story. She is genuine and kind and it's clear that she enjoys her work. We received multiple compliments about the intentional words used in our ceremony, which we built with the guidance of Shyamala. We also appreciated that she respected our wishes to remain secular and incorporate our personal statements to one other. Everything Shymala did to help us prepare for our big day and her authentic delivery of those words made it what it was - memorable and uniquely tailored to the two of us.

Shyamala is amazing! Having Shaymala officiate our ceremony was one of the best decisions we made during our wedding planning process. We had so many of guests come up to us after the wedding to say how impressed they were with our officiant and our ceremony. They all said they had been to millions of weddings before, but what she did was special and genuine. My husband and I could not agree more! My husband and I felt very comfortable with Shyamala from our first meeting and really liked the ideas she presented to us. We liked that she had so many options for rituals and readings to help get us in the direction we wanted. She is a professional, who is easy to work with, and actually listens to what you want.

Shyamala was absolutely wonderful, and we were so happy we chose her as our officiant! We got married in May in Colorado. She is based in California, but she came highly recommended, and was willing to make the trip for us. With less than 3 months lead time, Shyamala expertly guided us through a process of creating a ceremony and vows that were a perfect fit for us and felt as though they truly came from our hearts. She clearly has a lot of experience, and yet was always very present to our uniqueness as a couple and seemed to genuinely care about ensuring our big day felt special and personalized just for us. Beyond this, we sensed Shyamala has a reverence for the ceremony of marriage and helped us meaningfully express our emotions and our love for one another.

We loved working with Shyamala in preparation for our wedding day. We had one Skype meeting and one in-person meeting to plan the ceremony details and share our love story. We were graciously welcomed at her lovely home and felt immediately that she was the right fit for our non-denominational wedding. From the details we shared with Shyamala, she wove a beautiful story about our relationship that made our wedding guests cry. We felt she gave a great balance of authenticity, seriousness, and moments of light that reflected our own personalities and gave our guests a genuine, personal glimpse into our relationship. In fact, several of our guests said it was the most genuine ceremony they'd ever seen. Shyamala is considerate, timely and thoughtful, even asking us the color scheme so she could match it with her scarf! Shyamala has transformed our Special Day into The Most Blessed and Unforgettable moment in our lives. Despite the short notice, she was able to offer the sweetest and most amazing ideas that left, not only ourselves, but all guests SO Inspired at our wedding! Shyamala was great to work with from the very beginning! Her personality is warm, inviting, and she was exactly what we were looking for in an officiant. She was so flexible with our schedules and was even willing to do all of our meetings via Skype. Our ceremony was exactly what we asked for. Beautiful and simple, but with a lot of personality! We even asked her to add in a few humorous lines here and there because we like to laugh. She was also super flexible when we asked to make changes or add/remove things from the drafts. Both being rather shy people, my (now)husband and I were uncertain of what our ceremony would look like. We were nervous about standing in front of people, and weren't even sure what 'rituals' we wanted to do. With Shyamala, we needn't have worried at all! She made us feel so at ease, meeting with us multiple times over coffee, which really felt like lovely chats with a dear friend! She asked illuminating questions, learned about our history as a couple and helped us zero in on what we valued about having a wedding. She offered suggestions of readings and options of rituals that other couples had done, and always always reminded us that we could make anything our own - do the ceremony in our own way. And we did. With Shyamala's support, we had a beautiful ceremony that represented us as individuals, payed homage to our shared culture, and invited family participation in a simple but meaningful way. It was an incredible ceremony that felt true-to-us, transcendent and intimate. Everything was perfect and we have Shyamala to thank!

My wife and I are delighted to have Shyamala serve as our officiant. Immediately upon our first meeting with Shyamala we were drawn to her warmth, sincerity and friendliness. The meetings were like chatting with a great friend! Shyamala intently listened to our stories with many questions to create a customized ceremony that reflected our journey. As an international marriage, we wanted to honor and incorporate my wife's culture in the ceremony. Shyamala had suggested various rituals and found the perfect Japanese proverb that told our story. Shyamala's presentation of "our story" was romantic, celebratory and inspiring. Her words were delivered from the heart. Shyamala was very detailed throughout the planning process. Shyamala officiated our wedding at the Log Cabin the Presidio six weeks ago (August 2016.) We're so thrilled we found her! She is so warm, personable, and professional, and she is brilliant at what she does.

We met with her via Skype, and had two very lovely initial conversations. We didn't think we had "a story" per se, but she turned our disjointed ramblings about how me met and our eleven years of adventures into a real story that could be delivered to an all ages crowd. She had lots of wonderful suggestions of rituals we hadn't heard of, and we chose the ring warming and wine and letter box rituals. She also had us each write a few funny sentences about the other one so that she could work them in and infuse some of our sense of humor and personalities into the ceremony.

Shyamala put together a really beautiful ceremony for us. People kept complimenting us on it! It was personal, humorous and sincere. Look no further, Shyamala is everything you could possibly want in a wedding officiant. We can't recommend her enough!

Shyamala officiated over our small wedding ceremony and did a wonderful job. Before the wedding, she worked with us by phone and email to understand what we wanted and to learn a little about us. The day of the ceremony she met us at a park and we walked to a Redwood grove we'd selected in advance. She had composed a lovely ceremony that was personalized, and reflected the unique location we'd chosen. After the ceremony, she provided a printed copy for us to keep. She was patient and encouraging throughout the process, and respected and met our wishes precisely.

We had both been married before, Lori is 45 and Ray is 52; our kids are gone and it's just the two of us. We found our shared, amazing love later in life and after several years together we wanted to be married. We wanted just a very small, intimate wedding with just the two of us - and our 3 dogs! On a warm summer morning in our tree-filled yard, Shyamala gently guided us through an incredibly personal, romantic and beautiful ceremony; we were both crying. Shyamala is very warm and welcoming! My husband and I met with her twice in person to go over the ceremony. She invited us into her home and took the time to get to know us. Through our conversations she was able to create a simple ceremony that included our "how we met story" and a ring warming (we passed out our rings to the guests). Shyamala is very open to various ideas and at times, when we were not quite sure what we wanted, she gave many suggestions and examples from other ceremonies. She always responded quickly to any of our questions and she sent us drafts of the ceremony to approve. Our ceremony was wonderful, easy, and full of love. Thanks Shyamala!

She was amazing. My husband and I did a destination wedding. We are from Colorado and our wedding was in San Francisco. When we got there, it was too chilly to have it at our original spot. She was not only flexible in changing the venue, she gave us several options to look at. We had a beautiful ceremony Shakespeare gardens. A place we out of towners never would have thought about.. Not only did she marry us on 4th of July weekend, it was also her birthday. So awesome!

Shyamala was the officiant at our wedding, and she was spectacular. When starting to plan our ceremony, we were overwhelmed, but after our first meeting with Shyamala, we were totally at ease. She had great suggestions for how to structure the ceremony, and lots of ideas for how to personalize it for us. She listened carefully to the story of our relationship and crafted a beautiful ceremony that was unique to us. She also worked closely with us on incorporating some traditions we wanted to add. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I can't think of how it could have gone better. I highly recommend you invite Shayamala into your wedding as your officiant. You won't regret it!

Shyamala gave me and my husband a beautiful and spiritual ceremony. I knew from the first time I had talked to her on the phone that she would put together something really special for us. She is very kind hearted and sweet, but also professional at the same time. She asked us all the right questions and tailored the ceremony to our needs. I really felt like our ceremony was one of a kind and not just another cookie cutter wedding!

After our first telephone conversation we set up a Skype date so that she could get to know both me and my husband and that worked out perfect for mine and his busy schedules. She also was very good with emailing us back and forth when we needed her and gave us a full draft of how it would all happen on the day of. We had never met face to face and we never rehearsed the ceremony but it all went so smooth on our wedding day I couldn't have been any happier! She even had my family raving about how wonderful and unique our ceremony was.

Warm, genuine and thoughtful. After meeting Shayamala at her home for tea and cookies the first time, she assured us that we would create a beautiful ceremony together. Shyamala was amazing to work with. She was accommodating to our schedules, using Skype, phone calls, and emails to communicate quickly and clearly throughout the entire process. My partner and I decided to get married after 6 happy years together, we knew we wanted something very small and private- then we decided we wanted to do it the day after receiving our marriage liscense. Yes, we wanted to get married within 24 hours! I found Shayamala through an online search, she responded to my email very quickly and was open to schedule our ceremony with very little time to prepare, she took the time to talk with me about who we are, how we met, and we discussed things that were important to us in the ceremony. When we arrived at her home the next day she had set a beautiful candlelight environment for us and brought my husband to tears with her service. Shyamala provided us such a warm, wonderful wedding ceremony. From the time we first spoke with her, both my husband and I felt so comfortable and cared for. Shyamala helped us to work through all of the ceremony details, learning about us and our story, giving us many ideas to help spur our own creativity. She was open and encouraging all along the way.

We weren't sure how to take our ideas and make them work and flow easily through the ceremony. She had so many great suggestions for us, excellent advice based on her experience, and helped us to develop a beautiful and unique ceremony that felt just right for us.

Her fees seemed reasonable to us for our custom ceremony. She met with us for about an hour, then we exchanged emails as we refined the ceremony.

We highly recommend Shyamala as a caring guide and officiant. She's a special person doing what she clearly loves.

Shyamala was able to effortlessly orchestrate an amazing personalized ceremony for our recent nuptials. I've been to many weddings and ceremonies are usually vanilla at best. After just two short visits with Shyamala, she was able to brew up the perfect service for us, seamlessly integrating all that we touched upon and much more. When my fiance and I first started planning our wedding, we were pretty overwhelmed with everything and had no idea where to start when it came to finding an officiant. We met Shyamala at the East Bay Regional Parks wedding fair in Berkeley, and right away knew that she would be a good fit for us. She invited us to her home for an initial consultation where she asked thoughtful questions and really got to know us. A few months later, we met over Skype and she went over a few more details before sending over a draft of the ceremony. Shyamala crafted a beautiful story that incorporated the essence of us as a couple. There were so many small details that made the ceremony so special, including a nod to how we met as well as old traditions. Our family and friends were also impressed with how the ceremony unfolded. Let me start off by saying that this is not a fake review! This is 100% true and from the heart.

On Thursday October 15 I married my husband in California. Shyamala was our officiant and has been a major part in our journey for about a year before the wedding. We found her online, which alway carries its own worries. However, after our initial emails and skype sessions we quickly realised that this was a warm and kind hearted woman. She has an ability to make you feel comfortable and relaxed and she finds aspects of yourself and your partner, that you never knew existed.
She asked many great questions in order to get to know us better and from that she was able to draft s ceremony that was so personal and emotional. We had various rituals and readings to incorporate into the ceremony and she managed to do this with such ease. Not only did the ceremony mean something to us, but it managed to incorporate the guests as well. We have only had positive feedback about the ceremony itself and Shyamala.

Shyamala has a gift, and I hope many more lucky couples get to experience this gift themselves. We could not have asked for more. We are truly lucky that we found her out of so many, and we cannot thank her enough for all she has done.

Ms. Littlefield was a delight to work with. She is very spiritual, yet still practical and full of great ideas. She spent considerable time with us, prior to our deciding that she would be the BEST choice to help us write our Wedding Ceremony. She got to know us, what was important to us, and our life paths until the time my husband and I first met. She helped us write a very personal and meaningful wedding ceremony, and it will be something we always cherish.
She can help you design a brief ceremony, or a more lengthy one. She can include all the things you wish (from pets to children to friends/family) and make the Ceremony very unique and special. Shyamala Littlefield made our wedding day blissful! Everything was exactly how we pictured it. She was so accommodating and answered all our questions. Even after the wedding was over she was awesome. The county's office ripped our license in half and she was the first person to assure me everything would be fine. She was organized, had copies of all our paper work and was willing to sign & send another license. Highly recommend Ceremonies for Sacred Days. Thank you Shyamala!!

My wife and I would've been happy getting married at City Hall, but we opted to throw a small, casual outdoor ceremony to appease family members. After initially thinking we'd enlist a friend to perform the ceremony, we decided it'd be best to get a professional officiant. My wife found Shyamala on Yelp, and after our initial meeting with her, we recognized we were in great hands.

She was incredibly easy to deal with, and we appreciated her taking the time to get to know our story so she could deliver a very personal ceremony. She gave us lots of helpful advice as we planned our big day, and did a fantastic job at the actual ceremony-- the aforementioned conservative family members who originally bristled at us not getting married in a church even commented on what a nice ceremony it was!

It's funny to think how much work it took to secure various vendors for the ceremony and reception. We blindly stumbled across Shyamala, but we were incredibly fortunate to have done so!

Shyamala was the officiant for our wedding in July. Working with her was very easy and I appreciated her calm and reassuring demeanor. She was able to create a ceremony for us that felt original and specific to us, all done through Skype and emails. Because of my schedule and distance we weren't able to meet in person before the wedding but that didn't concern me because she kept open and clear communication and I always knew what to expect. On the day of our wedding everything went perfectly and guests complimented her to me on her presence and beautifully written and spoken ceremony. I highly recommend Shyamala, she's clearly done this so many times that she has it down to a perfected art and it was so nice to have one less thing to worry about.

Shyamala was the officiant for our wedding this last July and was an absolute pleasure to work with!

My wife and I were planning a wedding from out of the area and were fairly unsure of what we were looking for out of an officiant. We contacted Shyamala and a few other officiants by email and phone figuring we would talk with a handful and pick whoever most closely met our wants and needs. Shyamala quickly responded and booked a Skype call so we could meet and chat that way. We booked her and cancelled all our other calls after our first conversation. She blew us away and instantly felt like the right match for us.

From there on we chatted a few times over skype and email. We were all able to get to know each other and the direction we wanted to go with the ceremony. We were sort of a blank slate as far as what we wanted but she gave tons of suggestions and options without ever being pushy.

When the day came we had already gone through a few drafts of the ceremony with her and finalized the pieces we wanted to incorporate. She even kept some personal messages we wrote to each other a secret for us until the ceremony.

Shyamala showed up early and was a great calming presence to have around before the ceremony. The ceremony went off without a hitch and we couldn't have been happier!

After the ceremony we had a ton of compliments specifically directed at Shyamala and the wonderful job she did with our ceremony.

Shyamala really helped make our day less stressful and a wonderful experience We would recommend her services to anyone in need of a wedding officiant regardless of any type of religious affiliations or lack there of.

On August 30, 2015 my wife and I were married at the West Hills Country Club in Middletown New York. Our wedding ceremony had two sections; a spiritual section followed by a full Jewish wedding ceremony performed by a Rabbi. Shyamala Littlefield helped us create the perfect script for the ceremony as a whole and hosted the first section of the ceremony.

My wife and I were clear about the way we wanted our ceremony to feel for ourselves and the participants. We connected with Shyamala on the advice of a friend.

Before speaking with Shyamala my wife and drafted an outline of the sequence for the ceremony that we were considering and we sent it to Shyamala prior to our first call. Shyamala recommended that we connect with her via SKYPE which was a great suggestion because it was more intimate than a phone call would have been. During that first SKYPE connection Shyamala really took the time to get to know us as a couple. We could feel her enthusiasm for love and how it brings people together and transforms their lives. We knew that she would help us make our vision a reality.

In the months that we worked together refining the script, Shyamala added many beautiful touches that we hadn't even considered. We left each call with her feeling more in love with each other and more inspired to share the ceremony we were creating.

The day of the rehearsal she led the run thru and noted points where we needed to refine things. We felt completely at ease and let her guide us and our wedding party thru the process.

The day of our wedding the ceremony flowed smoothly and Shyamala put her heart into delivering the script. Her attention to detail created a beautiful ceremony that moved our friends and family. Shyamala's joy for celebrating love is infectious and inspiring. We love Shyamala and highly recommend her. We chose Shyamala from Sacred Days after reading a number of reviews on officiants. I was planning our wedding in CA while living in NYC. Shyamala was very helpful over the phone and promptly emailed me all the information I needed. She gave me an extremely helpful outline for the direction of the ceremony, multiple reading that could be included, suggestions for special events during the service, etc. During all this, she was more than willing to do all the planning over the phone since we were planning from across the country. During our first telephone meeting, she spent time getting to know my husband and I, hearing our love story, and listening to our desires for the ceremony. We then walked through a tentative timeline and what we wanted included. Over the next few months, we communicated about things I wanted added or subtracted from the ceremony. A few weeks prior to the ceremony, she sent us the entire ceremony and what was going to be said. This was perfect because there would be no surprises! On the day of the wedding, I met Shyamala for the first time. She arrived with more than enough time, looked very professional, and went out of her way to introduce herself to my husband and me. The ceremony could not have gone more smoothly. In fact, many of our guests later came up and said what a great officiant we had that day. Shyamala was such a pleasure to work with. Our first time meeting with her she asked such gentle but thoughtful questions--and felt so safe--that I remember weeping while I tried to answer one of them. My (now husband) and I were immediately struck by her calm demeanor, her depth of presence, and her desire to really connect with the two of us and know our story and who we are as a couple. My husband is an aetheist and I'm "spiritual but not religious" and Shyamala did an excellent job finding common ground for us both in the ceremony.

We had two meetings with her over tea at her lovely home, where we went over the details of the wedding, the structure, our story, any any other rituals we wanted to add.
We had our readers send their material to her (but keep it a secret from us), and she communicated with them directly to keep the wedding day a bit of a surprise. One of the most fantastic things was that she sent us a complete write-up of the ceremony a couple weeks before the wedding, which we went over, gave comments, and then sent back. Almost all of it felt so spot on in the first go--we were really touched and impressed.

Finally, the day of she was just fantastic. We got so many compliments on her way of speaking, her warmth, the way she spoke about us during the ceremony...it was so incredibly intimate. We are SO happy we had Shyamala as our officiant and HIGHLY recommend her.

Shyamala literally could not have done a better job officiating our wedding. Right from the first interaction, she made us feel incredibly special, and treated our big day like it was the most important of the year. We had such a wonderful experience with Shyamala. My fiancé and I were dreading the interview process with the officiant, but from the moment I spoke with her on the phone, that feeling of dread completely fell away. Her schedule is so flexible and she was ready to meet with us within a few days. When we did meet it was like we were sitting down with an old friend. She "got us" immediately and we all felt an instant connection. What a relief too that we didn't have to worry about designing a ceremony on top of all the other preparations; she had everything under control, prepared a beautiful, unique ceremony just for us, and all of the guests raved about how different and wonderful it was. I contacted Shaymala through an online service and she promptly called me directly. Speaking with her on the phone, I had a good feeling but we were planning to meet with other officiants. However from the moment we met her in person, we knew she was the one. Not only is she organized and professional, a plus when finding any vendor for a wedding, but she was warm, welcoming, experienced, thoughtful and helpful. We are a same-sex couple from Ohio who wanted to be married on a beach at sunset. We chose to hold our wedding in San Francisco on Baker Beach. We looked through many websites and watched many videos of potential same-sex wedding officiants in San Francisco. After our first phone conversation with Shyamala we knew we had the right person. Shyamala was sweet, helpful, patient and she listened to what we wanted for our ceremony. She provided advice on locations, types of ceremonies, and even the weather that we would encounter at sunset on the beach. She was extremely easy to work with and very low pressure. We wanted a custom ceremony that featured an Irish Handfasting ceremony mixed with aspects of a traditional wedding. Shyamala had no issues incorporating our ideas into her vision of our ceremony. Our wedding ceremony turned out perfect and when we met Shyamala she felt like a friend we had known all our lives. We would highly recommend Shyamala to anyone wishing to be married in California.

Shyamala was wonderful from the moment we met. She welcomed us in her home, was very warm and easy to talk to, and very organized as well. There was a folder waiting for us on her dining room table, facing our direction, before we even sat down. She was open to our ideas and wanted to do anything she could to make our day extra special, including our request to change the wording of the traditional parts to better suit us, since we were two brides. Closer to the wedding date, Shyamala wanted to get to know us better so she set up a telephone visit. She was genuinely interested in our whole love story, and wanted to use what she learned about us to write up a draft of our ceremony. We had the opportunity to review it and she made us comfortable with making any changes we'd like. On the wedding day, she arrived early, had a calming presence, was very reassuring for us nervous brides, and she did a WONDERFUL job! We had emailed her our vows separately (to keep them a surprise to each other), and she had them printed out on thick cardstock (which helped disguise our shaky hands), and with large font (to be easier to read especially through the tears welling up), and our vows were neatly stowed away for easy access in Shyamala's binder. Bottom line: we had no doubts about Shyamala and her abilities, and she lived up to our high expectations. She was wonderful and I can't say enough good things about her. I would recommend her to ANYONE looking for an officiant.

We feel very fortunate to have come across Shyamala Wedding Officiant services online. We had originally booked someone else who cancelled a few weeks before our wedding. We searched online and made a call one evening to at least 5 different officiant's. We were very surprised to receive a response the same night from several providers but immediately Shaymala stood out. She offered to meet with us, however due to our busy schedules we chose the option to meet via a video call. We had an initial great conversation and hired her during that call. Since we had little time to create our ceremony and vows, Shymala provided us with many great examples as a guide. We failed to meet her requested date for emailing her the final ceremony script and sent it a few days before the wedding. She continued to be kind and professional and told us not to worry it would all work out fine. We actually did not meet her in person until that day and really felt confident and trusting that she was the best choice.

During the wedding we had lots of laughter and some fumbled mistakes on our part since we included our 2 children each from other marriages. Shyamala provided a relaxed atmosphere and the end result was a beautiful ceremony with many compliments from family on how fun and warm our wedding was. This is all thanks to Shymala for helping us create it just as we pictured it.

My now husband and I hired Shyamala to officiate our wedding. After speaking with many potentials who just didnt fit our budget or needs; I found Shyamala. After one phone consult with her, my husband and I both knew she was the person we wanted. She was warm, attentive and we just got a really postive vibe from her. Shyamala was wonderful. She was a kind, welcoming professional at our first meeting. She had a folder with materials laid out in front of us, completely prepared. We had a long discussion, including our ideas of what we envisioned, and we also had a separate phone conversation about a month before our wedding, answering Shyamala's very thoughtful questions.
Shyamala emailed us her draft, and was very much open to edits/changes, etc. She sent us back a corrected copy in a timely fashion.
My only complaint to mention is that she is kind of pricey, BUT....we considered half of the amount to account for peace of mind because we knew in our hearts that we could trust that she would do a wonderful job - which she did.

Working with Shyamala has been absolutely wonderful. The meetings over Skype worked for us as we live far from her, but she was able to capture the essence of our relationship over the chats we had on Skype throughout the wedding planning year. On the day of wedding, she was on time, fully prepared and was extremely pleasant through the ceremony. She's extremely respectful of different cultures, religions (or lack there of) and does not push anything on couples.

Planning a wedding in San Francisco when you live in New York can be a bit daunting. I submitted an online request for a wedding offciant and Shyamala was the first to respond; and thank goodness she did - we had this immediate connection that was so comforting; almost as if we knew each other already!

About a week after our initial online contact my partner and I had an appointment to meet Shyamala via Skype and if we weren't 100% certain before we knew we had made the right decision within the first few minutes of our "in person" Skype meeting. We talked for about an hour discussing where my partner and I were from, where we grew up, how we met, what we felt when we met; what drew us together and continued to connect us, etc.

Flash forward to July 3rd ... we had our ceremony in the San Francisco City Hall that evening at 6:30 with Shyamala as our officiant. From that initial Skype meeting and throughout some brief email exchanges after that Shyamala magically mined so much information from us that it was crazy (in a good way). She was able to capture our essence ... what brought my partner and I together, what led us to getting married, and what will keep us together down the road. At the ceremony she spoke about my partner's and my first meeting and how that led to the wonderful moment when we were getting married. She made us laugh and brought tears of happiness to our eyes as she deeply moved us as she spoke about us and the importance of the day!

She interviewed us over the phone, included all of our requests and even provided her home as a venue. She is a warm and welcoming person with a very rich past so she can offer a deep experience to an exciting day.

Shyamala was amazing! My husband and I planned our wedding in two weeks and Shyamala was extremely helpful and willing to make our ceremony perfect. She was not only great at what she does, but you can feel the sense of compassion and love she has in her heart. The ceremony was beautiful and SO perfect. The way she put it all together, the way she delivered and the expression of happiness on her face throughout the ceremony put me at ease and kept us both smiling the whole way through. Everyone loved her and thought she did an amazing job. I would HIGHLY recommend her, you will be so happy to have her at your wedding. Thank you Shyamala, you are amazing!

Choosing an officiant was not simple for us because we aren't affiliated with a particular faith. My husband's parents are, but did not feel it was important for someone from their faith to officiate for us. So I scoured the internet for local officiants with great reviews and moderate fees. This was how I came upon the delightful Shyamala.

Shyamala helped us SO much in preparation for our ceremony. First, she invited us to her home and was such a loving and open presence, which was a great help to a couple like us who really had few ideas about what we wanted to say in our ceremony. After our first meeting we met a second time so that she could get to know us more personally to gather material for what she would write. After that we corresponded via email.

Over the course of about 6 months leading up to the wedding, Shyamala was a wise and comforting support for us! Using her tools and suggestions, my husband and I were able to collaborate and customize the ceremony in a way that felt magical. Shyamala led us through the actual ritual with total grace and flexibility. I recommend her service wholeheartedly and if we were to do it all over again, we would not change a thing about our experience with her.

Shyamala was fantastic from start to finish. My Husband and I married on our 10 year anniversary this past Nov. and I couldn't have been more pleased with her services. We knew we didn't want a traditional ceremony, and she helped us create a perfect and personalized one that really spoke to who we are as people. She spent time on the phone with us both together and separately getting to know us and even prepared a small surprise moment where she shared with each of us some of the things we'd shared about one another. Overall if I could give more than 5 stars I would, you could not go wrong hiring Shyamala to officiate your wedding.

Shyamala tailored the perfect ceremony for our wedding day based on multiple conversations we had with her. She really got to the core of what we were looking for - a short, deep, nature-inspired account of the paths that led us to one another in marriage.

Shyamala was extremely flexible, intuitive, and forthcoming in guiding us toward a ceremony that many in attendance remark as the most heart-felt and beautiful wedding they'd ever attended.

We could not have had a better experience than we did with Shyamala. From first phone call to goodbye at the wedding, she was just incredible- she put us totally at ease, walked us through every step, and went way above and beyond getting to know us to truly personalize the ceremony- we are still getting compliments to this day about how beautiful and touching it was, there were few dry eyes in the house. And we were very last minute too, which Shyamala was very accommodating for.

We had a winter ceremony on a Cliff overlooking the ocean. It was cold and windy and Shyamala was completely open and flexible with the experience. We are pretty low key, and yet the ceremony was meaningful and lovely. Symamala was very helpful in developing the ceremony and providing many options for readings and vows. Shyamala, was a joy to work with. She helped us prepare a wedding ceremony tailored to us. She really captured our personalities through her words and our wedding ceremony was perfectly suited to us. Our wedding would not have been the same without her! We have received several comments on how heartfelt and touching our wedding was. We live in Colorado and Shyamala was very easy to work with in preparing our wedding ceremony. Just moments before we started she was able to add a few lines that really gave life to our setting. Her demeanor and way with words make for the perfect officiant for any wedding.

We have been a couple since 1978 when we met at a hospital where we both worked as nurses. We were only able to be "officially" married in 2013 thanks to California legalizing same sex marriage. As it is, we had to travel from our home in Arizona to make it happen. We chose Oakland because one of our daughters lives there. We were most fortunate in engaging Shyamala Littlefield as our officiant. She kindly offered her home for our ceremony and performed a simple, warm and loving marriage rite. She could not have been any more kinder or respectful of us. With our daughter in attendance, we were very moved to finally be married and will remember it always. We will be grateful to Shyamala for providing a wonderful forever experience.

Teresa Pinkerton and I were looking for an Officiate in the San Francisco area to perform our wedding. We wanted a small wedding outdoors by the fountain in Huntington Park. We found Shyamala through the internet and we couldn't have been more pleased. She accommodated our every wish and filled in the things we hadn't even thought about.
