Best wedding experience possible

John and crew made the our wedding perfect. We changed from a Vermont wedding to our backyard due to Covid-19 and reached out to John 2 weeks ahead of time. In that time he chatted with us about menu/vibe we were looking for (made recommendations based on our thoughts) was amazingly helpful with us for gluten free and vegan guests and made a house visit to give us his thoughts for layout. Again all in two weeks! For day of, the food was amazing, the service was fantastic and everyone was so nice, and they truly made our day special. Couldn’t thank John enough and would recommend him to anyone for any event.

Delicious Menu!

John and Laurel were amazing right from the beginning. They had a great variety of options to choose from and were really responsive when we wanted to make changes. The food for the tasting and the wedding was delicious and we got so many compliments on it! We got so many delicious things but the squash, steak tips, and cookies were my personal favorite!

Every bite was perfect

J&L Catering is an absolute gem in Eastern/Central MA. They gladly worked with us to build a passed and stationed hors d’oeuvres menu that reflected our backgrounds and even worked with local businesses to source some authentic cultural favorites. The food was delicious (I highly recommend tacos, the line was practically out the door!), the catering displays were coordinated and professional, the staff was expert, and John himself is a shining light of a human being. He made us feel comfortable with expressing our opinions and preferences, and was always honest about what could and couldn’t happen within our budget. I will gladly work with him again for future events, and you would be smart to reach out to J&L Catering for your event.

Excellent and Professional

We hired J&L Catering for a wedding shower event, held at the Thayer House in Medway that included approximately 80 guests. We were pleased to learn that John and his team worked events there and was familiar with the property. When planning the meal for our guests, John provided some great dinner and dessert suggestions. We went with many of his recommendations and the meal he and his team prepared was excellent with healthy portions for everyone. The dinner also started at our scheduled time with no delays. Our guests were extremely happy with the food choices offered. During this entire process John was very professional, checked in with us often and made sure we and our guests would be happy. John is a joy to work with and I would recommend J&L Catering for your events.

Great Catering on Short Notice

J&L came in after a late cancelation from the other caterer. Their food was terrific (really, pumpkin lasagne? Superb!), and I think they made us enjoy the event even more because they were always friendly, as if they were part of the family. I would go to them before anyone else if I need a great caterer!

I can’t imagine using any other caterer than J & L Catering. The food is amazing, it tastes great and looks beautiful. The team is so easy to work with. They pay special attention to dietary issues.

The perfect caterer

We took our time looking for a caterer for our wedding. From the initial inquiry to the final execution, J+L Catering was absolutely the right decision. Jim, our coordinator, went above and beyond to make sure our special day was just that, special. J+L offers a delicious menu, quality rentals and impeccable service. We originally planned for 100 people and ended up with 22 (due to COVID) and J+L was more than accommodating and didn’t miss a beat. On the day of the wedding, everything was flawless. From the cocktail hour, to the reception and the clean-up, the J+L team was polite, respectful of space and professional. The food – we are still talking about it today – was very delicious. We opted for 5 different cocktail hors d'oeuvres and a three course mean (entrées of chicken, salmon, veg and kids). Everything was executed to perfection – temperatures were appropriate, and taste was flavorful. We will absolutely consider J+L for any additional catering needs in the future.

J&L have catered two great parties for us

We’ve had a great experience with J&L catering two large family parties for us. The food is delicious and working with them has always been a pleasure. John has also helped us make determinations on the menu and his suggestions have been very helpful. I’m sure we will continue to call them for future events.

Daughters first birthday yummy catering!

John created a delicious lunch for my daughters 1st birthday. He was very responsive and thorough when it came to my order and her food allergies. Everyone enjoyed it and my husband and I really enjoyed the leftovers!

Hired John to cater a business mixer for about 20 to 30 people. His expertise and flexibility exceeded expectations. He understood the purpose of the event, made suggestions that helped make it a successful event and his prices were very reasonable. Incredible value, quality & service!

John was the best caterer we could have asked for. Throughout the planning process, he was always responsive, helpful and accommodating. He offered us the perfect menu with flexibility and excellent pricing. Day-of, the J&L team ensured everything stayed on schedule and went smoothly, took care of my gluten free guests, and personally handed out fresh cookies for dessert . We received tons of compliments on the food and were sent home with lots of delicious leftovers. I can't recommend J&L enough!

Great job for bridal shower.

John and his team did a wonderful job catering our Bridal shower in June, 2019. He was extremely helpful during the planning process, helping us determine the right amount of food and a perfect mix of options for our large event. Everything ran extremely smoothly during setup and throughout the shower. His staff was attentive and efficient and he checked in with my wife and I throughout the day. Numerous guests remarked on the food and asked for his card so they could use him in the future Thank you John and team at J&L!

John and his team are the best!!

When beginning the process of wedding planning I looked into the venue first, and then immediately began looking for a caterer. I had done a quick google search and found J&L Catering which to my surprise had lots of experience at my venue. John got in contact with us shortly after we contacted him. He is quick to reply to all questions and concerns, and went above and beyond to make sure our day became the best day of our lives.

John put together an amazing Southern BBQ menu for us which included all our favorite BBQ selections such as baked mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, pulled pork, cajun vegetables, and jerk chicken. The mashed potatoes were so good my bridesmaid claimed a whole tray to herself on the ride back to the hotel on the bus. My husband and I often asked him for guidance around ordering plastic ware, dishes, glassware, and linens. John was able to tell us exactly what we needed and was open to us asking lots of questions. He recommended an amazing bartending service, which with whom he had worked with before at the venue.

On the day of, he arrived to the venue very early to begin set up. His servers were amazing, he was very personable and energetic, and made sure my husband and I got appetizers to enjoy during cocktail hour while taking pictures. He hand delivered our meals to our sweetheart table and checked in with us to make sure all was well. John even went so above and beyond to have melted butter for my husband’s mashed potatoes (the husband loves butter!) We would highly recommend John and his team. They made our day run so smoothly and took all the worry away from us.

We hosted our Family Reunion in July 2018 & wanted it catered. Our group would be just 40 people.
We did an extensive search & several interviews, some of whom were not very responsive or refused to do such a small gathering.
When we reached out to John at J & L Catering, he was very responsive & excited to help us with our small affair which would be held in our garden. His menu options were many & outstanding, yet he was more than willing to make any changes & adjustments that we wanted.
So, we added his fabulous Raw Bar & his Famous (most delicious) Chowder to one of his barbecue menus & never looked back!
John was a joy to work with, responsive to all our questions & helpful with all our little details, right down to the decor theme.
Our Reunion was a huge success. John & his staff were superb. The food was amazing & there was plenty of it. Our guests were impressed & happy.

Like many brides, I began the tedious process of searching for a caterer for our upcoming wedding. I spoke to several catering companies that resided in the Boston area but their pricing for one night was far too expensive considering our wedding was going to span three full days for all guests. I continued to search for caterers and came across J&L Catering, which also happened to be local to me. Our first phone conversation went amazingly. John really understood my vision and was able to provide all the elements we needed for our three days (raw bar, carving station, and lobster bake). The pricing for all three days was fantastic. I was nervous that in order to meet such a great price, perhaps the food quality would be lacking. Boy was I wrong! We had our tasting of each of our three menus and everything was delicious, tender, juicy, and full of flavor. My fiancé and I were blown away with how amazing the food tasted. We could not have been more pleased with the final outcome for our wedding weekend. Our guests haven’t stop talking about how great the food was. And besides taste and price, the last element you hope for is good customer service. John and his team have this in spades. Every time I had a question about the menu or what to rent for plates, etc.; I always received a prompt phone call or email with a reply. As a bride trying to plan their big day, it is so nice to have someone there to quickly answer your questions. By the end of our long planning process and wedding weekend, we really felt like John and his team was a part of our family. That is nearly impossible to find this day and age. If you are looking to book a caterer, look no further than J&L Caterers. You will not be disappointed!

It was such a pleasure to work with John throughout our wedding planning process and ESPECIALLY on the day of our wedding. We would recommend him as one of our top vendors. It is a very close tie in praise between how amazingly good the food was and how professional and prepared his team was. All of the guests enjoyed the meal, which given our last minute changes due to weather, was an amazing improvisation by John to get all of the food out timely and everything was delicious.

Picking our menu and doing our tasting was one of the best parts of the planning process and John made it so easy. He had excellent suggestions and was willing to talk through all of our priorities and wants for our day. The final result was a beautifully presented meal that everyone raved about.

His team worked so hard the day of our wedding, but multiple guests commented on the positivity and joy they brought to the venue. Everyone was smiling and went above and beyond to provide excellent service.

Once we found J&L Catering, it was hard to find a better value for our money for the extent of the services John and his team provided. We would recommend him to anyone in the future for any catering needs.

It was great working with John and his team at J & L Catering! The food was delicious, and John worked with us to create a menu that we were really excited about. We wanted "upscale BBQ," and John was able to make that happen within a very reasonable budget. He also gave us some great cost-saving tips when it came to our appetizers and our meal choices, which helped us have everything we wanted without spending a fortune. I appreciated that he was also realistic - when we mentioned wanting ice cream, he pointed out how messy that would be to serve given our outdoor August wedding. I liked that he was willing to say no to things that he knew he couldn't do well rather than just agreeing to things and then providing a subpar experience.

John and his wife Laurel were also very responsive when it came to communication. Any time I emailed, one of them would respond within a few hours at most. They also worked with me to put together a rental order for all our dishes, silverware, linens, tables, and chairs, and they were very flexible with helping me add and remove items to the order right up until a week before the wedding. On the night of the wedding, John made sure that my husband and I were well fed, creating individual appetizer and dinner plates for us so that we didn't miss out on any food. He really seemed to care that we were happy. I would definitely recommend hiring J & L Catering.

John and his staff could not have been more accommodating for our wedding day!!! The food was fantastic and my guests are still talking about it more than a month after our wedding. It rained on our wedding day and it did not affect John at all which was very impressive to say the least. I would 100% recommend to use J&L Catering to anyone doing any sort of event. They give you so many options to chose from and help every step of the way. John even gave me tips on how to save some money in some areas and we could not have been more appreciative for all the help.

Thank you again John you and your staff rocked and made our day even more special than we could have imagined!!!

Working with John was one of the most pleasant experiences. He listened to our requests for cuisine and delivered the perfect menu. He was completely transparent with costs so we knew what we were getting. He was incredibly flexible and his costs were affordable. It was refreshing to work with someone who has your best interests in mind. On the day of the wedding, I was at ease because I knew John had taken care of everything. Our guests were impressed with his staff and the food. Our vegetarian friends were quite impressed with their meals. That meant a lot to us. John and his staff went above and beyond to make our day special. From the first the meet and greet, to the hours spent on the phone going over details, John stepped up and did everything is his power to make our day perfect. As our wedding was outdoors and in a barn, we chose a more casual BBQ style menu which was delicious. His steak was some of the best I have ever had, and we have lost count of how many times we heard "best wedding food ever" from our guests. In addition to the quality of food, John and his staff went out of their way for us during the reception, assisting in tasks during the event, and making sure everything was running smoothly. He even personally made a special plate for my mother, who has a severe allergy. We can't say enough nice things about J & L, and would highly recommend to others. -Tim and Alyssa

John was excellent to work with! Even though we had unusual restrictions from our wedding venue, John designed and delivered a perfect menu! His food is delicious and his advice is honest and invaluable. We also had a few vegan guests at our wedding, and John took the challenge in stride. We had rave reviews about the food. John and his crew were wonderful at my wedding!! From the first conversation with John, he was professional and very responsive. Just through speaking to him I wanted to hire him but once we had the initial tasting I knew he was the best! The food was outstanding and he even made a little meal for my 2 year old son during our initial tasting as well! The night of the wedding was just perfect and I think I might have hugged John a couple times before it was over! Thank you SO much for making my wedding perfect! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

J&L catering is simply the best! My husband and I got married on June 3rd, 2017 and we really wanted to do a BBQ buffet. When we met with John and tried his amazing food, we knew we had to go with him! John and his team not only met, but exceeded our expectations and my guests are still taking about how good the food was! John even accomadated my vegan and vegetarian guests with delicious options as well. It also helps that John and his team were extremely kind and detail oriented and made sure that everything went smoothly in our big day. From the very first conversation, John was extremely professional, friendly, and fun! He quickly got us in for a free tasting (which was delicious) where he made us feel like we were eating in a 5-star restaurant but with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Having checked out other caterers, we knew immediately during the J&L tasting that we wanted to use them for our wedding.

John and Laurel's communication was top notch leading up to the wedding. They made sure we were comfortable with the menu and helped us not only cater to folks with food allergies and dietary restrictions, but also for a number of our guests who were keeping kosher for Passover (which is not an easy thing to cater for).

During the wedding, John and his staff were organized and friendly. John was really conscientious about checking in with us and making sure we were getting food and were happy with how things were going. He was also amazing about catering to those with food restrictions (whose food we tasted too and were incredible) and making sure that they all got their food in a timely manner.

We were really happy with our wedding menu, and many of our guests mentioned that it was the best wedding food they'd ever had!

I spent my honeymoon drooling over memories of the dinner we had at our reception. Food was (and I quote) "amazeballs". Seriously. Those are words straight from my uncle's lips. Everything from start to finish went completely smoothly. John and his team were serious magicians. We were able to customize things as much or as little as we wanted, and everything turned out perfectly. An amazing caterer for an awesome day!

We had a terrific experience working with J and L Catering for our wedding. John was easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. He truly knows exactly what he is doing and understood what we wanted both in terms of food and the feel of the event. He is attentive to detail and makes fabulous food. We had nearly 300 people at our wedding. John Boardman and his staff were excellent! Our experience with them went smoothly and everything was perfect from beginning to end. We highly recommend them!

J&L catering catered my wedding a few weeks ago. John let us sample the food we wanted before our wedding and was flexible with what we wanted. We got a lot of compliments on the food from our guests. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

My wife and I, along with our guests, couldn't have been more impressed with dinner and service provided by John. The food was not only delicious, but perfectly customized for the autumn season. John is a seasoned professional, who provided not only delicious fare, but warm hospitality as well. If you have room left in the belly, ask for the bread pudding. John was really easy to work with. I had a brunch buffet - the food was delicious. They were also able to get the coffee and pastry ready for guests to have immediately after the ceremony (held outside on a cold day), which my guests told me they really appreciated. He also had helpful recommendations for things like linens and tableware. J&L is the first caterer I have ever worked with, but I would definitely use them again.

My wife Dawn and I used J&l catering on 10/10/15 for our wedding. I don't even know where to begin on expressing how great they were. The food was exceptional and everyone raved about it. The executive chef and owner, John went above and beyond for my wife and I. Service was great and the buffet set up was beautiful. Let me start by saying that John is awesome! He really cares about making your day what you want it to be.

We were working on a tight budget but we have seriously high standards for the food we eat and serve. My husband went to culinary school and I'm a life-long cook and we both love good food. So when I say it's hard to please me, I'm not kidding.

And John found this out the hard way at our tasting. The food he served me was a bit on the sweeter side and I'm much more of a savory person, so he wasn't getting a lot of positive responses from me. To his credit, he saw that and started talking to me about how he could adjust the recipes and recommending other, more savory options from his menu.

We put together something that we both agreed would work and on the day of the wedding, it did - in spades! I LOVED the food - every bit of it that he served and I got TONS of compliments on it from the guests - many of whom were either professional cooks or foodies as well. And best of all, it was all gluten-free (other than the rolls) so I knew it was safe for all of my friends to eat.

We had the Portobello Napoleons, the Garlic Steak Tips, the (modified) Spiced pecans and cranberry salad with cherry balsamic dressing, the cheesy cauliflower casserole, and the roasted root vegetables. Make sure you get his special red pepper butter too. YUM!

P.S. If you're working on a budget like we were, ask him about bringing your own appetizers to save some cash. He made the suggestion to us and it saved us tons of money.

We recently used J & L Catering for an outdoor anniversary party at our home. From the beginning they were very responsive and flexible through the planning stage. On the day of the party they arrived promptly and quickly set up, and were not at all intrusive as some of our guests had already arrived. We were all amazed by the beautiful buffet table display that they provided and received many comments from our guests on it. The food was delicious and there was plenty for all, which is always a concern when providing and paying for a specific number of guests. They provided excellent service throughout the day and were extremely professional. Many of our family and friends in attendance have asked for their name and I would highly recommend J & L for any catering event. We are so satisfied and pleased with them that we are trying to find another reason for an event to have them cater. They made our celebration so easy and pleasant!

We had a 300 person wedding in Back Bay. We decided to go with an "upscale barbecue" through J&L Catering. The food was delicious. Everyone was more than satisfied with their meals, we got compliments on it all night. They were able to work out logistics in an older building, with a less than ideal kitchen. All the food was hot and ready to go on time. Cant say enough good things.

I spent an entire day trying to find the perfect caterer for my small wedding on July 3rd. Most responses were "We're sorry, but on a holiday weekend we have a 150 person minimum," and those that were willing to cater to 50 people just didn't seem very knowledgeable or enthusiastic. When I called John at J&L Catering, however, he instantly made me feel as if my wedding and my desires were the most important thing. He was excited to be able to be a part of our wedding and was extremely helpful. Not only did he prepare absolutely delicious food and bring a wonderful wait staff, but he ran the entire reception. He worked with the DJ, the photographer, and the bartender to ensure that everyone was on the same page, moving at the same pace, and providing my husband and I with exactly what we wanted. I could not have asked for a better caterer and my reception would not have been as successful as it was if it were not for John. THANK YOU J&L Catering for a perfect wedding day!

J&L Catering is wonderful to work with. The food is EXCELLENT and they cater to your needs and are flexible with the menu. We did a clambake, and they provided the highest quality seafood. They provided everything you needed for the clambake from bibs and utensils to the steamers, lobsters, mussels, corn, and chowder- a classic New England Clam Bake! They were very responsive and returned calls or e-mails same day, if not within the hour. Not only do they provide the food, they provide their expertise on the setup of the venue and provide ideas to make it a memorable event for your guests. I will definitely use them again!

J&L catered our wedding a few weeks ago and from the start it was a great experience. When shopping for caterers, John was always quick to respond, had a very reasonable price, was professional and clearly experienced. Our tasting was so much fun and delicious too, we knew we wanted J&L! When my niece asked me to be her wedding planner I was a bit nervous on how to bring the perfect day together in my parents back yard.

The first thing we wanted to do was get a great chef and then I knew the pieces would fall into place.

We found John at J & L Catering who immediately put us at ease with his insightful recommendations, availability, and of course top chef food!!

Even with 96 degrees the day of the wedding everything went beautifully! Heavy passed hors d'oeuvres by J & L Catering' s wonderful staff; they were perfect and comfortable in the backyard, talked to everyone, explained the food (gluten free) and even went out of their way for several of the guests...one being me who Kathy brought me food and said you need to eat :)

At the end of the end of the night you could literally eat off the kitchen floor after it was mopped and dried, the kitchen staff was just amazing! The entire staff was so nice...I am still hearing great things about them!

The buffets were maintained, yard kept clean and they were everywhere you wanted them to be without even knowing they were there most of the time. It was effortless and you know that they do this a lot and work together like a family...just what anyone e would want for the perfect day!

I wouldn't have a second thought about recommending J & L Catering, I already have to several coworkers and will be excited to see how happy it makes them too!

Honestly, I shopped around before choosing this caterer. In the end I hired them, and I'm so glad I did! From the initial conversation over the phone with John, to the end of my daughters Baby Shower, it was a great experience. It was a bit out of my price range, but, it was well worth it. The shower was outside under a tent, and even though clouds were looming, and the land was on a slant, this caterer came right on time, and simply took over! No fuss, No problems. It felt like we were at a very nice restaurant with the way they set up the buffet tables, with decorations (flowers), to the really nice chafing dishes that they use. Hot delicious food cooked fresh on site! The staff that were there to set up and serve were really a pleasure throughout the entire event. We got tremendous positive feed back from all of the participants that attended that day, especially my daughter and her husband. I would use J & L Catering again anytime!! Great food, great service!!

My husband and I were married in our backyard on August 2, and John and his team were absolutely amazing! We had a few hiccups on our wedding day (father of the bride in the ER, ceremony moved to hospital chapel!), and J&L was totally responsive and flexible. He arrived several hours early, and yet stayed late, having graciously agreed to push dinner back more than an hour an a half. At the end of the evening, our kitchen was spotless, the dishes cleaned and put away, the leftovers packaged and stacked in the fridge. The appetizer display before the meal was stunning, with plenty of fresh flowers and greens, beautiful serving-ware. The waitstaff were marvelous-- professional, pleasant, and prompt. And the FOOD was spectacular-- John designed a totally vegan menu for my husband and I (a difficult service to find, let alone found done SO WELL-- and at such a good price), and all guests oohed and ahhed over the spread. John even cut and served our dessert. An absolutely fabulous experience, I cannot recommend J&L enough, they truly go above and beyond!

John worked with us every step of the way to help us plan the perfect wedding menu for our backyard wedding. The food was fresh, delicious and locally-sourced (which was very important to us)! Instead of a cake, John and his incredible staff created an ice cream sundae bar using our favorite local ice cream. Everything was perfectly executed and most of our guests went back through the buffet line for seconds! He even packaged the leftovers in our fridge so that our guests had midnight snacks around the fire at the after-party. We were honored and very thankful to have J&L be part of out wedding day!!!

John was very helpful in planning our wedding celebration at our home. He met with us initially and allowed to sample the food we would be having the day of our event. It was nice to be able to taste everything to make sure it was what we truly wanted. I also wanted an entrée that is not normally on his menu, and he was able to accommodate us and fulfill our request. We had a graduation party at my home (back yard with a tent) in July. It was so easy. John set up the vendors for all the necessary rentals (tent, chairs, tables, linens, popcorn machine, etc) and passed on his discounts straight to me. I coordinated the deliveries to what suited my time frame and it went off with out a hitch.
As for the food, it was delicious. He is first class. Very professional in his service, his presentation and his staff. He has great experience so he knows what works best for him and the host (and guests). He is not obtrusive in disturbing the party either. His referrals are referrals he has had business with and who have met his expectations (like a bartender service) and if he isn't happy with them, then they lose his contact referrals.
The food is delicious and well presented. Everyone loved it and it is all made by him (i.e.: bbq sauce, honey mustard, chicken fingers, salads)- nothing is short cut at all.
I am actually looking for another excuse to hire him again- and I know I will come up with something.. ;D
I met John at a fundraiser in North Attleboro last January and kept his card and info tucked away until May when I contacted him for the party. It was delicious at that time and it was delicious in July.

We found J&L Catering through the internet to plan our parents' surprise anniversary party, from half a world away. We had to schedule everything without a taste testing, and it was wonderful to find that all their reviews were true to life - the food was delicious, the staff very professional, and John was great to work with. J & L Catering provided food for our wedding on June 6, 2009. We had tremendous fun at a pre-wedding tasting session where we got to sample many of the things served on our wedding day (everything was delicious!). John and Laurel are very easy to work with helped us plan a menu we were very excited about that also fit our budget. Our wedding was held outside and the majority of the food was grilled on-site. In spite of a logistically difficult location and a faulty grill (which we had rented through a separate company) the food was a resounding success. The food was one of the highlights of our whole day and we got dozens of compliments.

The cost of catering is one of the biggest expenses of a wedding and we were very happy to be supporting a burgeoning business. They worked their butts off to make our day special and did not make us aware of any issues until after our wedding was over (so we could get a refund on the faulty grill rental). We wholeheartedly recommend them without any reservations. J & L Catering is fantastic!

Wonderful caterer! John was great to work with, very responsive and very accommodating of our needs and requests. The food was delicious and his staff was great. They were very reasonably priced without sacrificing quality, and he had a can-do attitude that made the planning process a delight. I would highly recommend working with them!

I was hosting a Kentucky Derby Party and wanted to serve some of the traditional southern fare that is associated it the Derby but I was daunted! I should not have worried, one call to John and my fears subsided! John was excellent, we discussed some menu options and it was perfect. He took care of the food so I could concentrate on setting the stage for a bit of the Derby in Massachusetts. John worked with me to meet my needs and my budget. Everything was exceptional, the food was so fresh and tasty! My guests loved everything. It was a wonderful experience and I will be using John again for my next event.

I am so happy we booked with J and L!! We were over whelmed with choices for catering and John (owner and chef) made us feel like friends and that our special day was important to him. The food was amazing and delicious. The service was excellent and they made my husband and I feel like VIP - putting together a special plate for us right away to make sure we ate! I would absolutely hire them again and refer friends and family to them!!

It was such a pleasure working with John and Laurel when planning our wedding this past year. They were professional, responded to emails in a timely manner, and helped us deal with some unexpected issues with our venue without it costing us an extra arm and a leg.

We loved how many options were available to choose from to create a unique and custom wedding menu. The day of the event, the food service went smoothly. The staff was professional and friendly and we received many compliments on the service.

The food was delicious, they were able to quickly serve salad and entrees to help us maximize our time on the dance floor, and the food came out hot and fresh. Though we barely had time to eat, what we did try was the same quality (if not better) than what we tried at the tasting.

We would absolutely recommend J&L Catering, by far the highest quality catering you will get for a very reasonable price.

I did a tasting with J&L catering and they were absolutely the kindest people. I really liked them. They were great for the budget bride since they were willing to working with a low budget, however, I did not go with them as they were not familiar with fusion food and that was what I was looking for. But the tasting was great and their prices were perfect.

Did a traditional clambake wedding reception on 5/7/10. The food was excellent, however heard from several guests about some items being cold- but all complaints were made after the fact, and no one brought anything up to me during the wedding. John is awesome and flexible and created a menu to my specifications within my budget. He was great to help find the linen rentals, bartender etc as well. Would definitely recommend him again!!

J&L catering provided the food and service for our sons and daughter-in-law's garden wedding reception. From the first time I contacted John, a year ago, he has been exceptionally responsive. Not only did he provide the food and service but he directed us to our linen/glassware/accessory rental service and worked with us on those details. Everything he promised for the reception came through without an issue. The service was outstanding and the food very good. There were plenty of appetizers and entries to feed our guests. I would definitely recommend his catering service for both large and small events.

J & L Catering recently provided food for our corporate open house event. John the owner covers all the bases from start to finish... making sure you have the best type of food choices for your party up through the final touches on the event. The hors d'oeuvres and hot appetizers were amazing, a contemporary variety was available and they were made from scratch. John goes above and beyond for his clients. Definitely give J & L a try to cater your event or wedding.

Average overall - John disagrees with our opinion.

John catered our wedding. He was receptive to our specific requests prior to the big day, although we wished it was executed a little differently when all was said & done. We envisioned an “endless appetizers and stations” meal delivery rather than a traditional plated meal. Perhaps we placed too much faith in John and his crew or perhaps our venue wasn’t as conducive to what we hoped for in terms of the kitchen space for the caterers to work/prepare the food and execute the plan. Overall, the experience was what we would consider average based on the price, service and quality of the food.
