A Truly Talented Artist Who Captured Our Wedding Day Perfectly

We truly cannot say enough wonderful things about Carmen! She was by our side for every special moment—from our engagement shoot to our wedding ceremony in San Diego, and even traveling all the way to Romania for our wedding celebration. From the very first shoot, she made us feel so comfortable, even though being in front of the camera was out of our comfort zone. Her warm, kind energy, effortless humor, and ability to turn every photoshoot into a fun, natural experience made all the difference.

One thing we didn’t fully realize before our wedding was just how much time you actually spend with your photographer on the big day. Carmen was there for it all—the first look, private vows, portraits, the party—and having someone as incredible as her by our side made the entire experience seamless. She kept everything organized, handled family portraits with grace, and ensured we stayed on schedule without feeling rushed.

Her dedication to her craft is unmatched. She captured every single detail with such artistry, transforming fleeting moments into timeless memories. The emotions, the laughter, the love—everything shines through her work in the most breathtaking way. And beyond her talent, her professionalism and efficiency were outstanding. She delivered our photos so quickly without compromising an ounce of quality. Every image was stunning, each one more beautiful than we could have ever imagined.

My husband was initially worried about having to take hundreds of pictures on our wedding day, but Carmen made sure the experience was effortless. She never made the day feel like it was about posing for pictures—instead, she captured the real, authentic moments as they naturally unfolded. Thanks to her, we were able to be fully present and enjoy every second, knowing she was documenting it all beautifully.

Stunning work

We met Carmen through our planner. We were super impressed with Carmen's portfolio -- her photos captured the subtle facial expression and delicate details of the decor. On the day of the wedding we were quite nervous on how to pose, Carmen guided us through the whole process and adjust locations and angles accordingly based on the light condition. In the end, the results were spectacular -- the overall color tone of her work was so elegant, there was no excessive saturation or editing, while all the vibrance of the flowers, the sunset and the fireworks were preserved. Everything through her lens is purely cinematic. Moreover, our poses were so spontaneous, those were probably the best portraits we've ever taken. We're so glad that we chose Carmen for our big day.

Dreamy photography

Carmen really knows how to capture the moment and directs the shoots so professionally. Every image she shot for our wedding was amazing and couldn’t be happier. My decor for the wedding was sparse, but Carmen made sure to shoot imagines that made the decor look stunning. Family portraits, and all the way to the dance photos were great shots. I worked with Carmen for our engagement photos too. I would recommend using her for both to get comfortable with the camera and working with her felt very comfortable!

Wedding photographer

We hired Carmen for our small, intimidate wedding and it was a wonderful decision. Not only did our photos turn out magical, but she also captured our wedding in a way that made it feel full and lively even though it was small in number. Carmen was also very familiar with our location and was able to take photos of us at spots I would have never thought to go to. Those photos ended up being my favorite!! I’m so happy we went with Carmen. She was incredibly nice, made us feel very comfortable, and I feel like she truly captured every moment of our wedding that I can relive through her pictures.

The best wedding photographer I could ask for!!!!

Carmen was an absolute dream wedding photographer!
She was so flexible when our wedding plans completely changed last minute due to COVID-19.
She always responded immediately to all of my questions and was so always so helpful, kind and professional. Our photos turned out STUNNING!! I am so happy to have these amazing photos of our special day that I will cherish forever.
I could have not asked for a better experience from start to finish. I am so excited to use her again for all our future special events.

One of a kind!

Carmen photographed my wedding prep, ceremony, and reception. I planned an intimate wedding on short notice and Carmen was very flexible and patient throughout the process, even with last minute changes! She has such a warm personality, it felt like I’ve known her forever when we just met. This was helpful since I always feel out of place in front of a camera. She offered clear guidance for poses and had the best ideas for what would make unique pictures. The whole process was effortless. I am so privileged that I was acquainted with Carmen because our wedding photos were beyond what I expected. All of our guests were stunned with how beautiful the photos turned out. Could not have asked for a better photographer

Hands down, Carmen is the best investment my husband and I made for our wedding day. Having our special day documented by Carmen will always hold a special day in our hearts. The way she captures the little moments, the big moments, and everything in between is just... perfect.

From the very beginning of emailing back and forth to our sweet FaceTime introduction... and all the COVID-impacted change of plans, Carmen was with us 100% of the way, always supporting every decision and asking us how she could help. You won't find another photographer who is more collaborative, kind, or dedicated to her clients. We feel so lucky to have found Carmen during our research.

And of course... beyond the amazing person she is, the PHOTOS are just BEAUTIFUL. The way she uses film to capture the light and softness of every shot is truly breath-taking. These photos will be our keepsake for life.

Carmen is the best!

Carmen is amazing - not only is her work incredible (which is obvious from her Instagram), but she’s extremely nice and friendly and easy to work with!

Carmen worked with us to make sure we and all of our guests were comfortable during Covid. She wore a mask the whole time and kept social distance while taking photos. And the photos could not have been better!

Carmen really put us at ease for the photos and we can’t wait to work with her again!

Couldn't have dreamed up a better photographer!

Not only is Carmen EXTREMELY talented, she is the sweetest person around. She made me feel so relaxed the day of our wedding. Carmen is your ideal wedding photographer

There are many talented wedding photographers who are able to capture the events and details of your wedding day, but few are able to document the range of emotions that exist and truly tell a unique story through photos. Carmen does this beautifully and shoots not only from her perspective, but also from the family and wedding guests'. Each time I look through my wedding photos, I'm learning a little more about my wedding day.

There's something about Carmen's work that stands out - maybe it's the combination of her extensive experience with natural light, film photography, destinations and people, or maybe it's some touch of magic she brings.

Carmen captured our day in a timeless and beautiful fashion! She was very accommodating with our tight schedule as we had a private tea ceremony in addition to the traditional events. What can we say about Carmen?!! From the very beginning, she has been so kind, professional, and sweet!! We had a destination wedding in Hawaii and Carmen flew all the way out for our special day. :') Having her photograph our wedding was a dream. There are truly no words to describe the beauty that she captures in every shot. There is something so special about the way she captures the most precious moments timelessly and ethereally! Not only is she the most talented photographer...she truly cares about what she does. AND the people she photographs. From day 1, she has been a cheerleader and champion for us. From the smallest moments (like finding my heels and helping take them on and off on our wedding day) to the biggest ones. Carmen pays such careful attention to detail and makes sure to capture your vision completely. She'll make sure you have the shots you planned and wanted and much more. We loved that she made sure each photo was nothing but the best. (She made sure my dress and veil was always flowing and looked natural, never wrinkled and bunched up.) She also is great at capturing candid moments, which are the best. I don't have enough words to gush about Carmen except to say that I highly recommend her as a photographer. She is worth every penny, and her work is art. She's sooo sweet, too! Everything you want in a package. I'll definitely be using her for any upcoming photos!

I cannot recommend Carmen Santorelli enough! Her unique aesthetic gave my wedding pictures such a dreamy quality that reflected the overall feeling of the day. When I got my photographs back, I was shocked by some of the smallest, most beautiful details she had photographed, some that I hadn't even noticed that day. Everyone looks absolutely stunning. She has the ability to capture guests and family in their MOST joyful, candid moments, as well as expertly directing big group shots. (Wrangling friends and family can be difficult, but they all listened to her!) Aside from incomparable talent, she is also SO kind and and charming and generally wonderful to have around. My family adored her! She's professional, punctual, organized, creative, and everything you want when you're stressing over a million little things before the ceremony. I honestly can't recommend her enough. If I got to do my wedding all over again, I'd do everything the same (maybe eat one more piece of cake), including bringing Carmen on board. Luckily I get to relive it whenever I look at Carmen's photos, and for that I am eternally grateful. I recently had the photos put into a large book with hopes of passing them down to our future children. They look like the illustrations in a fairy tale.

My now-husband and I initially hired Carmen for our wedding photos, but we also used her for our engagement photos and a bridal session. Her film photography is the best that I have ever seen, and she has an extraordinary eye for detail! Not only is her work amazing, but Carmen is also wonderful to work with. Carmen was absolutely amazing! From the second my husband and I met her she made us feel at ease. We were instantly confident in her work ethic and aesthetic. Her style is really easy going and natural. We never once felt posed or rigid. She was also very open and willing to take any photographs we wanted. Flash forward one month to when we received our photographs, we were totally enamored. The photographs are better than we could have ever imagined. Carmen has been absolutely amazing from the moment we first talked on the phone to discuss the possibility of working together. She demonstrated the flexibility and helpfulness that made me feel very comfortable from the start considering I didn't know anything about wedding planning. Throughout the months leading up to the wedding, she helped me work on the timeline and offered different solutions to make sure the day would go perfectly, and it did! Carmen is amazing! Edward and I are so happy we were able to have her photograph our wedding! We were looking for someone who is professional, experienced and passionate. I was initially drawn to her by her artistic eye and ability to play with lighting. She surpassed all of our expectations. She will make your wedding pictures look super romantic and whimsical. One of the best decisions that we made for our wedding was choosing Carmen as our photographer! Not only is she incredibly talented, she was also wonderful to work with. We got to have the lovely Carmen Santorelli take our engagement photos and wedding photos. Carmen was so professional and so personable from the very beginning. I could tell right away this was her passion, and that she knew what she was doing. Of the vendors that we needed, my husband and I agreed choosing a great photographer was very important. We wanted someone who could beautifully capture our wedding because the photos will let us tangibly relive our special day forever. Aside from the talent, we wanted a photographer who also let us express our own ideas and visions, because after all.. it is YOUR day! But when my husband and I sometimes (or often) got awkward in front of the camera... Carmen always found a way to make us feel comfortable, and gave us the direction that we needed!

We're also thankful Carmen and her assistant got great shots of our Korean traditional ceremony, as we wore Korean 'hanboks' in a villa / ranch setting. Everything came out amazing - from the engagement shoot at the beach to our entire wedding day - we were very lucky to have worked with the amazing Carmen Santorelli!

I would highly recommend to all my friends and family without a doubt :)

Our photographer, Carmen Santorelli, was like a wispy sprite, taking amazingly artistic photos without us even noticing her. She totally captured how enraptured we both were during the ceremony, as well as the joyfulness of everyone during the whole wedding.

We had the pleasure of having Carmen photograph our engagement session and wedding. We chose Carmen because of the quality of her work - she is a fine art photographer and captures the most beautiful images with the most beautiful natural light. Carmen made us feel very comfortable when our photos were taken. She was very personable from the start...I felt like a friend was taking my photos! She knew how to style a certain shot and what angle to take a shot. She captured so many unique details of our wedding day naturally - I relive my wedding day over and over when I see the photos she took. If you're thinking of booking her, I suggest you do so, you will not be disappointed. I am planning on having Carmen photograph more photos for me in the future for other life events!

Carmen was so personable from our first phone conversation to the engagement session and the wedding day. Unless you're a professional model, posing for the camera for an extended period of time does not feel natural. She made us so comfortable and we loved spending time with her.
On the day of the wedding, she and her team were in both of our rooms getting shots. They were so calming and made the experience that much more enjoyable. She got amazing shots of all of the details at the ceremony and reception as well as all of the family/wedding party/bride and groom shots. After the wedding, I realized I had customized stir sticks at the bar that didn't get photographed. She had me mail them to her house and she staged photos after the fact so I could get them documented. So generous!
We now have a baby boy and look forward to working with Carmen again for a family shoot.

Carmen is beyond extraordinary at what she does. She will never make you feel anything but comfortable and she knows just how to capture every perfect moment. My husband and I got married on April 10, 2015 and Carmen was our photographer. Finding an amazing wedding photographer was our number one priority and finding Carmen was the BEST wedding decision we made! After an extensive google search of San Diego wedding photographers, I stumbled upon a gorgeous website with the most beautiful French garden inspired wedding photoshoot at a Temecula winery that gave credit to CARMEN SANTORELLI. I immediately fell in love with everything about the photoshoot and contacted Carmen to ask her to be our wedding photographer. From our very first contact, Carmen was kind, professional, and so knowledgeable. Carmen was so helpful throughout the process and very responsive despite her busy schedule. On our wedding day, Carmen made everyone feel soo comfortable. She took control to get the shots she wanted with the utmost respect. So look no further… go with Carmen Santorelli! When my husband and i were first looking for a wedding photographer, we had a specific style in mind.
I've always loved the soft and romantic style, with lots of natural lighting, and so we spent months searching for a photographer with that in mind. The one thing we loved most about Carmen's work, was her ability to capture some of the most natural emotions on film. We are actually very camera shy and often times, we come out looking really awkward in photographs. But Carmen really helped us focus and be more ourselves.

My husband and I are not really wedding people, so we didnt really spend alot of time planning the theme, details, and timelines. In fact we waited until the last minute (the last day in fact) to just let things happen! :p
Carmen reached out to us almost monthly (she really could have been my coordinator as well!), asking us if we needed any help, giving us ideas, and references. She was extremely patient and professional throughout the whole process!

On our wedding day, everything just happened so quickly, that I dont even remember the details of that day. But when Carmen finally sent us the photos, I was almost in tears. She captured the the details and memories of our day so beautifully. Carmen truly is an amazing artist!

For several years I had followed Carmen Santorelli Photography on blogs, Facebook, and several online magazines/forums. As a photographer I have completely idolized her work, it is surely in the top of the nation’s best wedding FINE ART photographers. All I can say is that Carmen has given me the best wedding gift anyone could ever ask for. Lots of brides have great photos from their wedding day but we have fine art photographs that will remain in our family for several generations to come. They are timeless and filled with emotion! Carmen was so great at communicating through the entire planning process. She even helped make our timeline for the day in order to have the most optimal lighting for portraits. Carmen was easily the BEST decision we made for my wedding. She blew us away with her careful attention to all the details, her incredible talent, and above all, the kind and beautiful person she is.

Simply the very best!!!~~~

Apart from the GOREGOUS photos she took, Carmen is such a warm and pleasant person to work with.
She made us and our guests feel totally at home. We wanted a small wedding with just close family and friends and she helped create such a beautiful and intimate atmosphere. Carmen went above and beyond all expectations! She was so resourceful and so creative.

Also, before the wedding day, she made us feel so comfortable about what to expect in terms of photography. She helped us pick out the best locations to take portraits (of my husband and me) and to take group photos with family and friends. I loved how thorough and organized she was.

We are SOO happy with our wedding photos.
They came out so natural and perfectly captured our emotions during the day.
They are truly the sort of photos that we dreamed of having :)

Carmen was a pleasure to work with! Her photos are AMAZING! We can't get enough compliments from not only our wedding day photos but from our engagement e-session she did with us as well. She is very professional, arrives on time, prompt to respond to any questions I had leading up to and even after our wedding. We got our photos back SO QUICKLY and she was super helpful and quick about getting our album together. Everything was so seamless with Carmen and we highly recommend her! Carmen is amazing!! So helpful, professional and friendly with an amazing eye for beautiful photos. I am so pleased with all of my photos from my wedding!! I couldn't have asked for more, nor would I have changed a single thing. Carmen was able to really capture the atmosphere of the venue and the emotion of the entire occasion. It was so special having her there by my side the entire time, helping me with all the little details-she even carried my bag to the venue! Such a sweetheart!! Carmen is the absolute best! My husband and I couldn’t be happier with our choice to use Carmen as our wedding photographer. She is extremely talented and such a pleasure to work with. We had the pleasure of having Carmen Santorelli be our photographer for our wedding. We are very happy with our choice because she is extremely professional and always made us feel comfortable when taking our pictures. We first met Carmen during our engagement shoot at the Plaza Hotel, the Pierre Hotel and Central Park, where she really took the time to get to know us better and talk about some details about our big day. A few days before our wedding she reached out again to talk about details for our wedding; we had some very specific photos that we wanted and we were comfortable that she understood those and also provided some suggestions of her own without undermining any of our ideas, she also helped us come up with a detailed timeline for the big day. Our wedding was at the St. Regis Hotel and everything went perfectly, she was so professional and took the time to get to know the videographers and make up team, we were very comfortable that the photos were going to turn out great and they did. The photos look amazing, they look like they were made for a magazine and most importantly they are exactly what we wanted. We are so glad to have chosen Carmen to be our photographer for our wedding!

I really can't say enough about Carmen. We turned to her after being totally burned by our first photographer. Photography was one thing that really mattered to me for our wedding and we chose a photographer early in our planning. When we had to start looking again less than 6 months before our wedding, I was really worried we wouldn't find anyone still available who was up to our standards.

We were incredibly lucky that Carmen was free on our wedding date. We met and she immediately put us at ease. We discussed her style, what we would get, how we'd plan the timeline of the day, and more. We did an engagement session to start to make sure we all would get along well, and she helped make the session relaxed and even fun (a far cry from our first experience). Our pictures were posted quickly and we loved them. We immediately booked her for our wedding date. As the date approached, we worked on a VERY detailed schedule to make sure we got all the family and bridal party pictures that were important to us.

Unfortunately, the hair and make up people worked incredibly slowly and ignored our timeline (dawdling on their phones and gossiping...). This ate away at our time for our first look and family pictures, but Carmen was very calm and reassuring that we'd get all the important pictures, which she did. I was impressed with how she handled the sudden time crunch. I only wish I got to see what she could do with a little more time! But again, this was not her fault at all.

Anyway, our pictures came back & they are fabulous. I've gotten tons of comments from guests on how fantastic our pictures are. The pictures are a great mix of posed, scenic, detailed, & of course, wonderful candid shots.

If anything, I feel guilty I took so long to write this review. It hit me that I hadn't yet when I came home today & had a package from Carmen. Inside was a beautiful box with all our proofs (great quality), a card, & get this, cookies! She's the best!

When our original photographer had to have emergency surgery and cancelled the day before our wedding, she set us up with Carmen. Despite not knowing my husband and me or our venue, Carmen did a FABULOUS job taking our photos and put us completely at ease. She was so easy to work with the day-of and was so sweet about stepping in at the last minute. Also, her second photographer, Adeline, was incredibly sweet and did a great job. Our photos came out BEAUTIFULLY and definitely exceeded our expectations. Everyone who saw our photo gallery gushed over the photos and asked where we found our photographer! Another wonderful thing about working with Carmen was that we received a gallery of all our wedding photos a mere 5 days after our wedding day! The online gallery was very user-friendly and could be viewed on any device, which was great for sharing photos with family and friends. She also provided us with a second gallery where we could order professional prints. If you want gorgeous wedding photos and a photographer who is sweet, friendly, and easy to work with, look no further than Carmen! My husband and I highly recommend her! Thanks Carmen! :-)

Carmen was absolute perfection! She was able to capture our special day exactly how we had envisioned it; in a vintage and elegant way. She and her assistant were wonderful to work with, accomodating, and fun to be around. We also used Carmen for our engagement shoot and had an absolute blast with her. We truly recommend her for whenever you are trying to capture your unforgettable moments- you will not regret it.

Carmen is an amazing photographer! My husband and I loved working with her on our engagement pictures and wedding pictures. We eloped in December in New York with only the two of us. We had our engagement pictures done two days before the wedding. I can't thank Carmen enough for all her help prior to the wedding! She is truly a wonderful person and a very talented photographer.

Hiring Carmen Santorelli as our wedding photographer was one of the best

Carmen is everything you would want in a photographer. Besides taking beautiful and skillful pictures she is incredibly responsive, professional, understanding and thoughtful. We felt very strongly about creating a very intimate environment with a very small circle of family and close friends so having a photographer outside of this circle was something we struggled with. However, Carmen, with her positive energy, true, honest and beautiful smile, mindful motions, and extreme gentleness and care, made her, if only for a few hours, part of this circle, which allowed us to feel safe and comfortable. Every time we look at our pictures it brings us back to that day. We truly could not have imagined a better experience. Thank you so much Carmen!

Words cannot express our gratitude for Carmen...she has become like part of our family during the engagement and wedding process. We fell in love with her at a wedding event about 16 months before our wedding, and she was one of the first vendors we booked. We knew after our engagement session that we had made the best decision ever. We loved her personality and photos so much that we even asked her to do a family session before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, she and her staff were nearly invisible, but we received shots of such intimate moments (holding hands, laughter, glances exchanged) that were incredibly breathtaking. She is so conscientious and talented -- a true artist. We are grateful to know her.

Carmen has the best personality for this profession! She made us feel comfortable and put us a ease and explained what was going to happen on our wedding day in so much detail that even Larry (who is, admittedly, a bit of a worrier) told me that he knows that I chose the best photographer! She went above and beyond to make us feel taken care of, which we appreciate so much! The photos are breathtaking, and the albums...oh boy...cant ask for more:) Thanks Carmen, you rock!!
