Incredible Cake!

Liza made us the most gorgeous wedding cake and even better - the taste was to die for! We literally couldn’t wait to save our top tier - the day after our wedding we broke into it because it was THAT GOOD! Not only is Liza’s cake beautiful and delicious but she is a true delight to work with. She is so caring and has an eye for detail that I felt completely confident in her abilities. I can’t thank you enough Liza - our wedding cake was beyond perfect!

Amazing! Will be using for all future functions

Liza is amazing! She was able to squeeze me in last minute, got everything done on time, and it all turned out perfect. Very responsive, extremely reasonably priced, and everything was delicious! I was so upset that there was nothing left for me to take home! I will be using Liza for all future functions.

Fantastic Service and Product

I was put in charge of three items for the wedding: the DJ, the officiant, and the cake. With the exclusion of food, probably the three most important things to have on the big day. I found Liza by searching for people in the area, and I am so glad I did. First, her response was prompt which gave me confidence that when it came down to the wire I wouldn't need to worry about getting in touch with her. Next, when trying samples (because you should always try a sample before you commit), she did a wonderful job presenting her work, making some samples, and letting us try different flavor combinations. My wife was against almond cake based on prior experiences, but Liza did such a terrific job it is ultimately the flavor we went with.

She was flexible to work with (we were unsure about the final number until about a month before), she checked in before making the final cake to make sure we were on the same page, and she delivered it on time and in beautiful condition. I really can't say enough about how beautiful it was. We received so many compliments (even though we didn't do anything), I can't recommend her enough!

Delicious and Beautiful Cake!

We chose two flavors: her almond cake with chocolate ganache filling and red velvet cake with cream cheese filling. Both were moist and delicious, and the cake overall turned out beautifully. Cakes by Liza creates with excellent craftsmanship, excellent service, and always serves with love. The process couldn't have been smoother. Thank you again!

Fantastic experience and beautiful cake!

Our wedding cake was gorgeous, and was delicious as well! I showed Liza some sample photos and described what we wanted, and she brought our vision to life. The cake received so many compliments; we were overjoyed with the results! Very satisfied customers here!

Our wedding cake was absolutely amazing! We asked Liza for a simple, but elegant cake with a picture for inspiration. She surpassed our expectations and the cake was even better than we imagined.

We got a 3 tier cake with the bottom tier being a hexagon shape. We wanted a marble look to it, but we also wanted gold incorporated into it. The flavor we went with was a Pistachio and Chocolate Ganache. It tasted as good as it looked too!

Liza delivered the cake herself to the venue. She arrived early, set up the cake, and decorated it with the greenery to match our theme. She also ended up providing a gorgeous gold cake stand to match.

We're very pleased with the cake and the service!

I am SO glad that she made our wedding cake! It was truly the best cake I have EVER tasted. She listened to what I wanted and went way above and beyond my expectations. Our guests would not stop raving about how delicious and perfect the cake was. I asked her to make me a naked style wedding cake with a marbled inside of chocolate and vanilla. It wasn't too sweet, it was beautifully decorated, and the flavors inside were absolutely delicious (the chocolate ganache inside that cake was spectacular). I'm glad we took the topper so that I can have a delicious snack whenever the craving hits (which is pretty often!). She is incredibly talented and passionate about her cakes, and it really shows. I seriously can't thank her enough - Thank you again, Liza, for helping to make my wedding so much sweeter! I will always remember how much I enjoyed the cake on my wedding day <3

Our wedding cake was beautiful and everything we hoped for!! We had the almond cake with raspberry filling and the red velvet cake on alternating tiers. IT WAS DELICIOUS and had our guests wanting more. And even after a year, on our anniversary, cutting into our top tier per tradition, was still in perfect condition. Thank you, Cakes by Liza!!

Liza was awesome! All the little details that my husband and I asked for were amazing! The lacey details that she added from my dress to the cake was flawless! I even asked for a lego/starwars groom cake and she did a great job with it! (My husband is kinda a nerd) I was nervous it was going to look too "kiddy" at first but she still made it look classy. She maintained communications the whole time during planning and I highly recommend her!

Cakes by Liza was AWESOME! From the time I placed my order, up to deliver/pick-up her service has been the best. Any questions I had, she responded the same day. Upon pick-up she had the cake ready for transportation. her cake was so beautiful I had to force my guest to cut and eat. I would highly recommend her services and I will be a returning customer.

Liza - prepared a delicious Red Velvet Cake with pecans for my military retirement! Honestly, the best Red Velvet recipe I've ever tasted plus the cake was decorated beautifully. This was just the topper for my military culmination. Thanks again.

My son was getting married in Va Beach and we weren't familiar with any professional cake designers in the area, so we found Liza online and took a chance without knowing much about her work. We completed the entire transaction online and over the phone without any problems. We were absolutely pleased with her service, professionalism, and design and quality of the cake. Everyone at the wedding was very impressed and loved the cake. I would highly recommend Liza and would definitly use her again.

If you have high standards, this is who you want. She responds quickly, needs little direction, and puts 100% detail in all her work. The cake she made for my husband's promotion was the most beautiful cake I have ever seen. The American flag was so detailed, she put in 'stitches' on the seams and stars. The flag had a tint to it to create a shadow so that it appeared to be bent. No detail was left out. When our party guests arrived, the first thing that was noticed was th cake (even when I had a full cater in the kitchen cooking), for the first hour the cake was the center of attention and 'in awe'. We began to cut the cake and I started to worry if the taste would even come close to the decorative side....but damn! If you're looking for the highest standard and best business ethic, then you have found it. 100% recommendation.

Liza's work is FABULOUS! Since I had no idea what I really wanted for my wedding cake, I gave her the reins, and her creativity ran away with it. The final product was GORGEOUS and was a perfect centerpiece to our lovebird-themed wedding. The intricate details on the cake were perfect and elegant, while the handmade bird's nest as our topper and flowers were the best reflection of our personalities. She also had so many flavors to choose from that every guest was able to have a little bit of everything. We had chocolate, lemon, butter rum, and mocha chiffon. Everyone gave our cake so many compliments with regard to design, flavor, moistness, everything! We couldn't have been happier with the work she did and would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. Can't wait to take another bite in a year!

The birthday cake I ordered and received was perfect! Cakes by Liza was able to fulfill the order on a two weeks notice. Liza is top of the line in the cake business! This was my first experience with CakesbyLiza. After finding her by google search in my area, she responded quickly. I forwarded 4 pictures of cakes I liked, we discussed a design, and flavor options. She even delivered the cake when she was required to change the pick up time. The entire experience was a 10!! And...THE CAKE WAS AMAZINGLY CUTE! Minnie mouse, raised flowers and butterflies, polk-a-dots, pink purple, green, and all just PERFECT! Two layer fondant cakes are a "special investment" and I'd say we got our moneys worth. Thank you Liza! We'll be back!

I ordered a special designed cake for my retirement ceremony after 30 years in the military. Liza did not let me down. The price was right, the cake was excellent and the attendees committed in unison on the appearance and taste. It was a big hit at my ceremony and thanks to Liza a special occasion for my family. Liza is an amazing baker and cake decorator that you cannot go wrong ordering cakes from her. The cake that she made for my niece's 18th birthday was wonderful. I requested a wonder woman cake for my grand-daughter. What Liza is, compared to other decorators I have been to is, she is most creative and most meticulous with her details. Her cakes are amazing! I would recommend her anytime especially to the people that are anal.....

We ordered a Dr Seuss theme cake for our grand daughter's first birthday party and Lisa created a master piece of a cake. It was so beautiful that we didn't want to cut it at first until everyone has taken lots of pictures of the cake. It was also very delicious and tasty but not too sweet. Lisa is the best cake maker we know and we've seen a lot of her work and they are all fabulous.

First of all, I would like to say that Liza did an AMAZING job with both my butterfly themed wedding cake and red velvet cake pops.

Our cake tasting was so much fun. We loved each cake we tasted and it was so hard to pick just one flavor! I went to several cake stores, but Liza was the only one who took the time to sit down and get to know my husband and I. She made sure that she understood our vision, so that she could recreate exactly what we wanted for our special day. My husband and I really appreciated the time she took to plan each detail with us.

When I first saw my cake, all I could think was, "Wow." She exceeded our expectations and created a beautiful and elegant cake. There was something magical about the cake, and many of our guests gave us compliments on how beautiful it was and how good it tasted. Even my husband, a big dessert critic, absolutely loved the cake! Her cake pops were also a fun and delicious addition to our wedding cake! I already have people asking me where they can order them.

I will definitely be using Liza again in the future!! She is a true artist and a pleasure to work with. Liza's cakes are the best in town!!

We were planning our vows renewal and I had a hard time finding a cake confectioner that would return my calls. Fortunately, I found Lisa who not only provided excellent service but guidance to help me decide on my cake design. My cake turned out beautiful and the taste was awesome, we loved it. Our cake was even more beautiful than we envisioned! Liza understood the kind of look we were going for and made a creation very detail oriented. But a cake looks only as good as it tastes. The white almond cake was very moist and soft. The raspberry filling and butter cream balanced the flavors evenly without being too sweet and rich. The flavor overall was wonderful! I like watching Amazing Wedding Cake on tv and I think Liza should be on that show. Her cakes are amazing and surreal that I wouldn't even like to cut my cake when she made one for my wedding!

We were so pleased with the cake that Liza made for us. She took aspects of our lives that I didn't even know she knew about and incorporated them into the cake. For example, on top of our cake was 2 beach chairs. This was perfect since our wedding was a beach wedding. In one chair was a navy sailor's hat (known as a cover), which was a tribute to my wife who serves in the U.S. Navy. In the other chair was a pair of drumsticks which was a tribute to my second love....drumming. The presentation was immaculate and the cake was absolutely delicious, with 3 different layers of different flavors. I was so impressed with Liza and her cake and I would highly recommend her for anyone's wedding. Thank you again Liza.

The cake Liza provided was absolutely awesome. Not only did the design compliment EVERY aspect of our wedding, but the taste was exquisite. Thank you Liza for adding that special touch to compliment our wedding day. Our guests are still talking about the cake!

Liza is a great cake designer and the detail in her work shows that. I not only utilize Cakes by Liza for my reception, but have been utilizing her services for the past six years for holidays and birthdays. Our event was actually a military retirement so I wanted something special, not the usual sheet cake with pictures and writing. When I came across the cakes on Liza's website I immediately knew that I had to work with her. Liza's responses were prompt if I had questions and the quality of her work was fantastic! Everyone, and I do mean everyone, asked me about the cake, and those who were soon to retire asked me for Liza's name. There was such detail in the American flag and Officer's cover that I could hardly bear to cut it and every part of the design was made with cake, no rice crispies. All of the ingredients were fresh, including the raspberry filling, and the best I have tasted. I did have to pick the cake up a day early becuase of her schedule but it held just fine as she assured me. I'll be asking Liza for another cake soon!

Omg! I just Loved My cake and cupcakes made by Liza! I had so many compliments! Not only was it Beautiful, it was Delicious as well!!! I hope she opens a Bakery in Norfolk, Va! The drive was long But worth it!! Thanks Liza!

Liza is an awesome cake designer! She worked with me very well to make sure my cake was perfect for my theme. My husband and I were very pleased. My cake table was very detailed and she went above and beyond to create exactly what I wanted, plus more!

The birthday cake for my 11 yo niece was beautifully done and tasted really good. It was in a "Katy Perry" theme. The only concern I had was that the request for some of design and colors were not met , but otherwise, she did a beautiful job.
