Our mini cupcakes were a hit at our wedding, we didn't even get to try any! Jorie was great and met with us a few months before the wedding to let us sample several cake flavors and discuss our wishes. They were delivered and set up very nicely; we were very pleased. We also did a 6in. wedding cake for us to cut and take home and as part of the deal she will send us another on our 1st anniversary. Looking forward to it!

Everyone who came to our wedding raved about how great the cake tasted! I've become a huge fan and wouldn't think of getting my future cakes from anyone but Jorie.

Jorie is amazing! We had our wedding at CD&ME on 4/29/16 we ordered pastries along with a small wedding cake for cutting. Everything was beautiful, delicious and very reasonably priced. Jorie was professional, kind, and helpful and we enjoyed working with her. Our guests raved about the beauty of the presentation as well.

Jorie and her team were a complete dream to work with! They were suggested by our venue (CD & ME in Frankfort), and though we could have picked anyone to work with, we are sure glad we found them! My mother and mother-in-law were formerly bakers and they were very complimentary when describing the quality and taste of Jorie's creations from the very first tasting.

Soon after we first met them at our venue, I called to schedule a personalized tasting for my husband-to-be and two members of our family. Jorie was extremely consultative from the first discussion and whenever I called in from there on out, her staff was extremely helpful, responsive, and friendly. from our first meeting at our venue's tasting event.)

The tasting meeting was so much fun and they made us feel really special! We booked them on the spot. (For what it's worth, they are the ONLY vendor that we didn't shop around for since we were so impressed with their quality and price from the beginning.

We found their cupcakes to be extremely high quality, yet very fairly priced. We ended up ordering a two-tier wedding cake to provide a focal point and traditional "cake-cutting" moment at the wedding, but opted for mini-cupcakes of a wide variety of flavors. We thought minis would be a good idea since fall time brings the opportunity for many seasonal flavors and we wanted our guests to have the ability to try multiple flavors.

We couldn't of been happier with the end result, and it's safe to say our guests felt the same way. We ordered 450 minis for 145 people, with the idea that 2-3 per person would be sufficient. This was Jorie's suggestion and it was perfect.

Their overall display was beautiful...so much in fact that many of our guests took pictures and they were one of the details everyone kept talking about for weeks after the wedding.

I would recommend Jorie without hesitation and with utter enthusiasm. Cool bonus: She'll make you a 1 year anniversary cake tier at no charge.

Jorie is AMAZING! I wanted unique, not traditional, so we went with a huge cupcake tier and a small 6" cake on top for cutting. My mom came with me to try out her cupcakes, and we were in love! She does this awesome thing with filling - instead of it being inside the cupcake, she puts it on top of the cupcake surrounded by frosting. It tastes delicious, looks beautiful, and makes sure the cake part of the cupcake doesn't get soggy or dry or anything but perfect. We had 3 or 4 different styles and flavors of cake and "filling". For the 6" cake, I wanted something fairly simple but classy. I asked for the sides of the cake to have the white frosting knifed (I had a picture, I don't know the technical terms), with a single frosting ribbon cascading down from the top of the cake, and a few real red roses adorning the sides. When I saw it on our wedding day, it was perfect! And to top it all off, her prices are incredibly reasonable!! Highly recommend Jorie.

I am so happy we heard about them from a friend! We went with cupcakes for our wedding instead of the large tiered cake. For our tasting, I wasn't even hungry and didn't have a sweet tooth when we walked in. My husband and I tried 4 different cupcakes while we were there. They were amazing!! I ate all 4 of mine because they were so tasty and weren't over stuffing. They were the perfect consistency, not too dense which happens sometimes. We wanted all 4 cupcakes we tried at the wedding because we could not choose between them, that's how good they all were! We did the gourmet cupcakes that are a little bit pricier but totally worth it. Plus, when you do cupcakes, you get a small cake to cut for photos, which was just what I wanted. I would recommend Cakes and Pastries by Jorie to friends and family who are having parties that need cake! I know I will use them in the future :)

The cake Jorie provided was fantastic! Our guests came up to us and asked where we got the cake from cause it was so delicious. We received a complimentary tasting from Jorie in January, where we tasted 5 different pre selected options.We then went through the cake vision I had. After we decided to go with Jorie we confirmed our design and flavors and had until 2 weeks before the wedding to change anything we did not like. My mother in law also used Jorie for a sweet table at our bridal shower and my husband's cousins and the guests at both raved about the desserts.

Simply stated, the cupcakes that we ordered (vanilla, chocolate and strawberry cake with vanilla buttercream frosting) for the wedding were the best cupcakes that I have ever tasted. They were fresh, nicely decorated, well presented, and extremely enjoyed by all of the guests. The price is fair. I highly commend this vendor to anyone in need of excellent cupcakes in the area. As I am writing this review, I am now wanting to go and get some more cupcakes. Thus, the only caution I provide is that you might become dangerously addicted to these cupcakes!

Our wedding cake was sooooooo delicious! We had the lemon cake with triple berry mousse filling, it was out of this world! The cake was moist and flavorful and the mousse was made from scratch with real berries! Her cupcakes and peanut butter cookies are also to die for. She has the cutest little shop in downtown Manteno.

She also let us borrow this gorgeous silver plated cake stand for no charge and she was excellent and taking my vision of my cake and making it come to life. Jorie also makes a small cake for free for your one year anniversary. How cute is that?

Jorie is an amazing baker and has an awesome team behind her, not to mention she honestly has THE BEST cake in the area. She was super accommodating to our schedule and provided suggestions on what cake/filling combinations go well together. Jorie is very open and takes your design and vision ideas seriously. She even added some subtle hidden mickey shapes on our cake since that's where we got engaged - it was perfect. Thank you Jorie!

Jorie made us a wine barrel cake for our wedding and it turned out AMAZING! Not only do her cakes look beautiful but they taste amazing! I would definitely recommend getting any cake from here. Everything we've tasted here has been excellent!

Cakes and Pastries by Jorie was a great experience. My husband and I got married 9/20 in Frankfort at CD&ME. They are the preferred vendor for the venue, and we are so glad to have placed our order with them! Manteno isn't a bad drive at all, and the store is in a cute little downtown area. We actually met with Jorie for our tasting. The store is adorable and they have so many delicious and cute things! We corresponded with her through email first, and let her know what type of cake we wanted to try. When we got there, she had cupcakes set up and we ate! It was a lot of fun, and very affordable. We did a 3 tier cake, 10", 8" and 6", then did the rest in sheet cakes for about 250 people. It wasn't more than $500, which is pretty amazing these days! Plus, it was very good cake, not dry, and the buttercream frosting was great! Of course, we didn't get any cake at the wedding, but they offer to make you a mini cake on your anniversary! We can't wait to get it!! Thanks Jorie :)

I did not do a traditional wedding cake I had a complete dessert bar with over 900 mini pastries and desserts. It was amazing, I had more compliments about my desserts then anything else. They are very easy to work with and affordable. Jorie and her staff are great and very easy to deal with that is what you need when you are planing a wedding. She made it easy and fun!!!!!!

A friend recommended that I check out Cakes by Jorie after I told her about a $900 quote I got from another bakery for a 3 tiered, rustic, ruffle cake. She had Cakes by Jorie do her wedding cake and had nothing but amazing things to say about her. I decided to give her a try and could not have been happier with the outcome. I showed Jorie the same cake as the other baker and she was able to replicate it for under $400 which also included a 45 minute delivery. In addition to her great price and beautiful work, the taste of the cake was delicious. Many of my guests commented on its taste and look. I couldn't have been happier with our decision to have Jorie make our cake. I will use her for all of events in the future and will recommend her to anyone I can. Thank you Jorie!

I had chosen Cakes and pastries by Jorie after I had a tasting with them at a couple events. Jorie was so nice and welcomed you to have a private tasting at her cake shop. My fiance and I arrived at Jorie's cakes and pastries and she had everything set up for us! We were able to try so many delicious flavors and fillings by trying multiple tiny cupcakes! Everything was absolutely delicious! I had a picture of what I wanted my cake to look like- however, the picture was fondant and I wanted butter cream. The cake turned out more beautiful than the picture did! Not only did we order the cake from her, but we also ordered cupcakes from her too since they were delicious! Jorie was very knowledgeable-especially how to accommodate budget with getting sheet cakes, etc and what we needed. The day of the wedding, the cake was delivered on time and the florist gave her flowers to place onto the cake! I have never seen something so beautiful, but also tasting so good at the same time! I HIGHLY recommend cakes and pastries by Jorie because Jorie is awesome and so nice, her staff is great, the cakes and cupcakes are soo good and beautiful, and very budget friendly! Our cake was awesome! Jorie's decorated it to look like ocean waves with sand, shells, coral, a fence and adirondack chairs ...very tropical for the "Home Receptions" after a destination wedding. The decorated cake and chocolate covered strawberries were perfect! The cake was fresh, moist and delicious!! They are super to work with. Our guests raved about both! They are now the place we go to for all our cakes! Awesome people to work with...no worries! Thanks Jorie!!! I highly recommend Jorie's Cakes and Pastries!!

Working with Jorie and picking out cakes was my absolute favorite part of planning our wedding. Jorie always put us at ease during the process, and we always left her shop smiling. Not only was her service outstanding, but her cakes were absolutely delicious! We had two different cakes, one with 2 layers and one 1-layer cake. All three flavors and fillings were incredible (yellow cake with strawberry filling, chocolate/devils food with custard, and white cake with triple berry filling). And she will even re-make your favorite cake for your one year anniversary.. for free! I absolutely recommend Cakes and Pastries by Jorie to everyone.

Jorie is simply fabulous. She created our cupcakes for our wedding this past weekend. EVERYONE raved about these cupcakes and we only took 3 home! The cupcakes were delicious. I order the lemon cookies, which were also delicious. Jorie even made a cupcake for us, that was not on her menu, We had some gluten free ones as well. She was a pleasure to work with and very easy to work with. Loved everything.

Without a doubt, Jorie is the BEST there is!!! She is incredibly talented, creative, accommodating, and an overall wonderful person. Her shop is adorable and a great atmosphere to have a tasting. The cake itself is the best I've ever had and the buttercream is oustanding!!! For any special event, my family ensures we celebrate with a "Jorie cake" :) My wedding cake was a very big deal to my husband and I. Jorie understood that I wanted it to be the vocal point of the reception and she made my dreams come true!!

First off the cake I got for my wedding was absolutely delicious. After the cake tasting I looked foward to eating the wedding cake. Everyone was very accomodating. Both my husband and I are both in the military and there is always a chance that one of us might get depoyed. Jorie had no problem putting in writing that our deposit would be refunded is something did happen. Sure enough my husband had to leave and we had to postpone the wedding. It was not a problem though. It was about 4 months later that we had decided on a new date. Everyone was accomdating I even made design changes still no problem. When I walked into the reception and saw my cake I was in awe. It was beautiful and everything I wanted. Not only that when it came time for dessert everyone kept asking where we got our cake. I of course told the Cakes and Pastries by Jorie. It was a hit and I would do business with them again in a heartbeat!

My husband and I couldn't have been happier when we stumbled upon Cakes & Pastries by Jorie! Being new to the area, I had no idea where to start when looking for someone to put together a wedding cake that matched my husband and I's personality. After a TERRIBLE cake testing and being OVER wedding planning, I had given up on finding a good cake. Thankfully, my caterer recommended Jorie to me. We set up a consultation with her and immediately fell in love with the place! Very clean, organized and comforting business to be in! Feels more like being in your kitchen at home than a business! She was ready for us when we walked in, had yummy samples and took the time to listen to our likes and dislikes! We did not give her much to work with, other than that we were a very simple couple and we were having a fall wedding in a barn. With that she produced and amazing and beautiful cake that fit our personality! It wasn't too fancy, but it had that perfect touch that made it fit for a wedding! We will be using her for all of our Cake & Pastry needs in the future! Thanks Jorie!!!

Jorie is AMAZING! We really wanted a pumpkin cake for our wedding, and she was the only baker willing to make us a sample of this to taste! not only was she accommodating, but her cake tasted the best out of all the tasting we did. We did a spice cake with a pumpkin mouse, and it was SO good! Plus the cake looked beautiful! We did a white cake with lace like detail and then peacock feathers and flowers. She did an amazing job, it was really beautiful. Jorie really knows what she is doing, she is fun and very fairly priced. We highly recommend her.

Jorie thank you so much for making such an incredible wedding cake for us! It was fantastic! We wanted a bit of a twist instead of having your traditional square or round cake. Also fantastic job on the sweet table at our bridal shower! You have always done a great job for us whether it be cupcakes for my daughters school or cakes for birthday parties- thank you!

Her cake was fantastic and so were her cookie favors that were handed out! Guests are still talking about it! She was great to work with. On our one year anniversary she is going to make us a fresh cake to eat rather than eating an old one!

They were fantastic. Not only did they deliver absolutely delicious cake and cupcakes, but we left a bag of decorations and the cake-topper for her to use on the cake/table and she took care of it all for us. Definitely worth the drive out to Manteno for tasting!

Amazing cakes and pastries, gave Jorie a picture of a cake on Pinterest and she was able to duplicate it almost exactly on my wedding day. Not to mention, their cakes taste fantastic and they have a ton of flavors. Their hours are a little short so sometimes hard to reach them on the phone but we didn’t need to call them too much anyway. The cake tasting was one of the most fun parts of wedding planning and Jorie gave us some cupcakes to take home too. They also give you a free small cake if you return within 1 year for your anniversary; no more eating 1 year old cake!  Awesome experience; awesome desserts.

I can honestly say that the cakes made in this bakery are delicious. We had a tasting (and have ordered a few cakes between then and the wedding) and each flavor is delicious. But if I had to do it again, I would not order a wedding cake from here. Firstly, on a test cake we ordered, the wrong icing was used and the bakery argued and claimed that myself and 10+ people were wrong which I thought was rude and unprofessional. Secondly, when my number of guests changed by 15 people, the bakery was not very accommodating to the change. Thirdly, and most importantly, when the cake was delivered, the delivery person dropped my cake topper down the side of the cake which significantly ruined the icing, and they left. Yes, left without fixing it. My husband saw the problem and insisted they come back to fix it which they did, but honestly, who ruins 25% of a cake and walks away? It makes me upset because the topper wasn't properly cleaned off so the photos of the cake look bad.

Given the fact that they ruined the cake and walked away without fixing it until we called them to come back, I would not recommend this bakery for your wedding. But for a birthday cake or rehearsal dinner cake, absolutely.
