Easiest and best choice

Working with For the Love of It was one of the easiest decisions we made. From the very beginning Bryan made us feel comfortable. His questions at the meeting before the wedding were thoughtful and in depth and not what we expected, and they helped Bryan get to know us so it didn’t feel like we were meeting for the first time on the wedding day. It gave us confidence knowing we were already comfortable with him and knew our guests would be too.
On the wedding day Bryan was great at easing us in and getting beautiful shots. The portraits were quick and fun, even when we stepped out during dinner for sunset photos it was just a few minutes before we were back to partying. He managed to get everything he needed in such an efficient way that we could simply be in the moment and enjoy ourselves.
When I first found For the Love of It there was a photo on their website that I couldn’t stop staring at because it made me feel like I was there in that moment and immediately knew what that wedding felt like to be there. That is exactly what we received in our own gallery. Everything was so beautiful and captured the day so wonderfully.

The best ever - hands down

Bryan is truly the best at what he does. From the start, he brought clarity, intention, and a level of alignment that instantly set the tone. I’ve never felt comfortable in front of a camera, but his presence changed that — we were able to relax, have fun, and just be ourselves.

He and his team seemed to be having an absolute blast — it was clear this isn’t just “work” to him. As someone who feels the same way about my own career, it was refreshing to see.

The images and videos? Absolutely stunning. We were genuinely shocked when we saw them for the first time. We can relive our favorite day over and over again now… with ease.

Best Decision We Made.

Early in our wedding planning my wife showed me Bryan’s portfolio and we were immediately blown away. His work was exactly what we were looking for — that perfect blend of high end editorial but while retaining the intimacy of a wedding portrait. We had to meet him. And I have to say, each step in the process we were continually impressed with his level of professionalism and attention to detail, between the in-person meetings, reference images sent back and forth, conference calls, location scouts, shot lists, and of course his brilliant work on the day. And to quickly speak about the wedding — between Bryan his his support team, our family portraits couldn’t have run smoother (and it was quite the group to corral) and the variety of shots captured at all our locations — the photos simply speak for themselves.

We we fortunate to hire Bryan early and it was truly, without a doubt, one of the best decisions we made. We were lucky to have him. My wife and I can’t imagine a better way to relive our wedding. Thank you again Bryan for the photos for a lifetime!

GORGEOUS wedding video

For the Love of It will create the most GORGEOUS editorial-quality video of your wedding. My husband and I hired Bryan and his team to capture our wedding day in Santa Barbara last summer. We are so happy with the work of art they created!

From the point of hiring to receiving the final product, Bryan was extremely professional. Before the wedding, he interviewed us to get an idea of our style and personality. During the wedding, he and his handsome crew stealthily captured beautiful footage of important moments throughout the day (getting ready, romantic sunset shots, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and lots of in-between moments!). From watching him work, you can really tell that he is passionate about what he does.

About 2-1/2 months after the wedding (the expected time period), Bryan sent us a first draft of our video. He was extremely patient, positive, open to our input, and highly collaborative during the editing process. Whether we requested to change the background music, add footage of family members, or photoshop a rogue hair from of my face (we had a windy sunset shoot), he made it happen! In the end, he delivered a beautiful video that we are so excited to watch for years and years to come!

When you hire For the Love of It, you will get a product that is SO much more than your average cheesy wedding video. My husband and I come from an art and design background, and were VERY particular with what we wanted. He exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely recommend his team for your big beautiful day!! Especially if you have editorial taste ;D

Exceptional in Every Way

Five stars is not enough. When my wife and I were looking for a wedding photographer, we met with many photographers that seemed "just fine." They took good pictures and captured all the moments you'd expect from a wedding. But then we met Bryan and knew immediately that we'd found our guy.

Bryan is not only a talented photographer (wedding or otherwise) but is also passionate about finding those special moments that make your wedding unique. He took considerable time talking with my wife and I about what aspects of the wedding were most important to us, the memories we hoped he would capture, and the style of photography we preferred. It always felt like a collaboration in the best sense of the word. Bryan always took our thoughts and requests into account while confidently and succinctly offering his wealth of experience and knowledge to make sure our photos were everything we wanted but often more than we ever expected.

A couple quick examples:

1. When we were discussing the location for our engagement shoot, my wife mentioned loving Joshua Tree and thought we could find an analogous desert setting close by. But the hours-long drive didn't deter Bryan. In fact, he was excited to shoot in Joshua Tree and, once we got there, literally climbed a massive rock-face to give us some of the most incredible images my wife and I have together.

2. On the wedding day itself, Bryan not only took amazing photos but he and his assistant did so without ever taking people out of the moment. Before anyone ever saw the photos, my family and guests were complimenting his professionalism and friendly energy.

In summary, of all the choices my wife and I made about vendors, venues, and the like, Bryan stands out as our best decision. If you're lucky enough to have him at your wedding, you will not be disappointed.

We had a fantastic experience working with Bryan for our wedding photos! He immediately understood what we wanted for our day and gracefully brought his talents to help capture everything we had worked hard to put together. We love Bryan’s eye and ability to capture meaningful moments to make what aren’t just photographs but are documents that will help us remember and tell the story of our best day for decades to come. He was professional and communicative throughout the whole process, and unobtrusive on the day. At one point, on our wedding day we were literally running early, thanks to Bryan. Our planner and the venue coordinators all agreed they had never seen anything like it. The photos were delivered well before the contracted timeline and we are ecstatic with the results! So my husband and I were never the ones to LOVE taking professional photos. We agreed that we both always came our awkward or weird when it comes to these. However, that all changed when I saw my best friend's engagement photos done by Bryan. The soft lines, romantic yet not over the top moments captured, editorial style...and I can keep going with a million reasons why I was so drawn to his artistic style. I never thought wedding and engagement photography could be so beautiful and emotional.

The first person I reached out to when I got engaged besides my friends and family was Bryan. We talked for a long time over the phone and he was so attentive to what I was looking for, how we met and he was just so caring. Throughout our whole engagement shoot process, Bryan made sure he didn't just focus on the bride but the groom as well, making sure he felt as comfortable as possible. My husband, who would normally be awkward and uncomfortable at these settings, was totally relaxed and enjoyed the entire day thanks to Bryan's confidence and guidance.

Bryan was PHENOMENAL at our wedding day as well. As if he read our minds, he captured all the moments we love and wanted to cherish forever in such beautiful and elegant ways. Our guests loved our wedding photos and I just cannot recommend him enough.

I am overwhelmingly happy we hired Bryan as our wedding photographer. Our photos are insanely beautiful (he is a master at lighting!) and I can't stop watching our video I love it SO much. When we first spoke to Bryan over the phone, we could tell he is very passionate about his work and he really enjoys what he does. He won us over immediately when he explained that he prefers a more classic look for wedding photography instead of trendy ideas that will go out of style in a few years. That was exactly what we were looking for and it really resonated with us.

Bryan was also one of the most helpful vendors we worked with. He sent a brochure that explained his process and helpful suggestions for planning and for the actual wedding day. He worked with me over the phone to finalize our day-of schedule to make sure we could fit in everything we wanted. He was also on time for everything and always responsive which, to me, was a huge help & relief. Future brides who are planning their own weddings: I'm sure you know what I mean.

If you are considering hiring Bryan, don't hesitate. It was one of the best decisions we made.

Bryan was a fantastic photographer! I looked far and wide for a wedding photographer, and was so thrilled to find Bryan. He offered unlimited hours for a set fee, which was really a great value. And we LOVED our images. He made our venue look fantastic and the photos were natural and beautiful. Our friends and family loved working with him and he was extremely professional. I've recommended him to several friends and will probably end up hiring him again in the future for family portraits or some other event. I would recommend him without reservation.

Bryan is an all-around perfect photographer. Not only are his photos off-the-chart gorgeous and emotional, but he’s also friendly, fun, and easy to work with.

After our initial meeting my fiancé immediately turned to me and said “I’m sold. Let’s hire him.” We ended up meeting with a second photographer which turned out to be an eye opening experience because it made me realize how much better Bryan was. There was just no comparison. Bryan was so much easier to talk to, had so much more passion about his work, and was just so much more honest about the whole experience. We never felt like he was trying to sell us his services, instead, he spent most of the meeting trying to get to know us, to know our style, and to see if we were a good fit.

On the day of the shoots, Bryan approaches everything and everyone with so much energy. My husband typically hates photo shoots, and dreaded having to be behind the camera for hours at a time. He thought he was for sure going to look uncomfortable and stiff. However, Bryan quickly put us at ease by talking us through everything. We weren’t holding poses for an awkward amount of time. We were constantly moving, and Bryan was able to consistently find the good shots and capture them. It didn’t feel like a strict photo session. It was like we’d known each other for a long time and were just hanging out.

The end results always blew our mind. Every photo is spot on, whether it’s a funny candid shot or a serious portrait. Bryan is a master of light, and all his photos come out looking so unbelievably beautiful, natural and dreamy.

Hiring Bryan was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. With Bryan, you never feel like you’re just another client. He cares about us and our experience, and it shows through every minute of interaction with him. And to us, he wasn’t just our photographer. Through this whole experience we feel like we've gained a friend.

Brian was an amazing wedding photographer. First, as a bride who is a bit type A, I truly appreciated the high level of quality and responsiveness when it came to communicating and planning for the big day. We had a lot of special requests as far as who we wanted photos with, and Brian diligently wrote them down and then remembered to execute every single one of them on the big day. Brian is very serious about his work-- in a very comforting way. He is a true professional and has an eye for editorial images that aren't the typical, overdone, straight out of Pinterest wedding pictures that you see. He has a unique eye-- and is able to capture beautiful artistic moments, while also capturing true emotion through candid photos. He also dealt with pressure with such grace--- our ceremony ran long (very long) to the point where it was pitch black outside by the time they pronounced us husband and wife. I was so upset thinking that there was no way that Brian was going to be able to capture a picture at that key moment-- the kiss. It was quite a surprise when we eventually got out photos-- and he had captured all of it! Every single picture that he gave us was beautiful. We have framed so many of them, and gave away so many as thank-you gifts to our family and other guests. My dear friend saw my wedding photos and IMMEDIATELY asked for his info, and she has now booked him for her own wedding! I highly recommend Brian. Hire him now.

We loved having Bryan photograph our wedding, he really captured the memories of our wedding day perfectly - looking back at photos it brings me right back to the day. I am a wedding photographer so I was very picky about who my photographer was. I booked Bryan because he has a great eye and good technical skills. All day me, my husband, our bridal party and guests were saying how awesome he was. He met all our expectations (especially my very high expectations). And hiring him was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. He was a great value.

Bryan was soooo good about asking us if we wanted to spend more time taking this picture or that picture. Or if he wanted us to take certain pictures. He was incredibly helpful and friendly, but I regret in the moment that I said no! He made so many great suggestions that I wish I had taken him up on those suggestions. You should definitely hire him. HIRE HIM!

From a wedding photographer's point of view, he has all the skills to photograph our wedding at its best. He could shoot in our very dark barn. And he got a lot of beautiful candid shots of our guests. We love his portraits. He's just an amazing photographer.

We were lucky enough to have Mae and Sandra as our photographers for our October wedding. I will cut to the chase and tell you these two very important words: HIRE THEM. We were advised to not skimp on photography and get a great quality photographer and I am so happy we did. The end product was more than worth it. Mae was very nice and professional and made the groom and I feel so very comfortable. I have so many great candid shots from the day that I have no idea what to get framed--they are all amazing. Mae was so professional. On top of driving to three locations and 2 hours out of her way she was so sweet. Everyone in my bridal party loved her. She was accommodating and so fun. I absolutely LOVE their style of photography. If you go with them, I promise you will not regret it!

Bryan and Mae are amazing artists! They captured so many beautiful pictures of us and our wedding party even though it was raining and freezing cold outside (I was certain my goosebumps would show up in those pictures)! They weren't afraid to stand in rain to get a fantastic shot. I was amazed at how everything turned out wonderfully, even when taken on the super dark dance floor. Bryan and Mae are so talented and we absolutely fell in love with their work! Some people would be hesitant to hire a younger couple with less experience, but they were really a great fit for us! Our day went wonderfully and we received so many compliments on how professionally Bryan and Mae conducted themselves! We got all of the wonderful shots we wanted, and our guests had a blast with the Goof Booth! Plus, we received our photos a very short time after our big day and were able to share them with family and friends! You may be inclined to look for a photographer with years of professional experience, but I promise you'd be missing out! Their work speaks for itself and they are wonderful people to work with!

Bryan and Mae are extremely professional and pleasant to have as photographers! They are focused, artistic, dedicated, and have a fresh young look on photography. They incorporate nature, buildings, lines, shades, and color to bring about fasinating, romantic (yet not cheesy!) photos. We had the pleasure of meeting them first during our engagement shoot. What a perfect day! We were impressed by their ability to direct our shoot, capture amazing moments/expressions, and provide us with a finished, absolutely gorgeous photos. For our wedding, they liked to capture the whole day... from preparation time all the way to the end of the reception. They focus on people and expressions. If you like them to capture certain things at your wedding, you have to let them know ahead of time. They take notes and remember your requests. They are not obstructive in their photography style. I hardly noticed them during our wedding, yet they were there capturing all the moments. We got so many compliments on our wedding photos. They are not traditional and we just adore their style. They have a unique way of capturing dance/action photos during the reception. I suggest looking through their website to get a flavor and make sure it's what you like. They respond to requests promptly, and are very professional and pleasant to communicate with. I have to say, that they are also an adorable couple and we can't wait to see photos of their wedding coming up in Sept. Overall, we love, love, love Bryan and Mae and would ABSOLUTELY recommend them to any of our friends! We will likely book them again in the future to capture more precious moments in our lives.

I cannot stress enough just how much I love Bryan and Mae. They are superb photographers and incredible people. I knew we were on the same page after our first meeting, and they have been such a dream to work with ever since! You can really tell that both Bryan and Mae have a genuine interest in their couples as they really take the time to get to know you and what you're looking for.

They also have a knack for being professional and personable at the same time. On our wedding day I felt like they were our friends sharing in our joy, yet I was never once concerned about them not performing the task at hand. Our parents loved them, our friends loved them, our guests loved them, and above all, we love them.

We got our photographs back in a timely fashion, and I cannot stop gushing over them. I love how they captured the traditional and formal shots as well as unique little moments that we would have completely missed otherwise. I simply adore the candid shots of our grandparents and guests. I also put a lot of effort into DIY details and handmade projects, and knowing this, they took a plethora of amazing detail shots so that we'll never forget what our wedding looked like. Thanks to their artistic eye, we even got our wedding featured on the popular wedding blog, Green Wedding Shoes!

I will recommend Bryan and Mae for any and every photography need. If you do book them for your wedding, I also HIGHLY recommend investing in the Goof Booth. It was such a huge hit at the reception and we absolutely love the resulting photos.

Bryan & Mae were the best decision that I made for my wedding. They make you feel comfortable right off the bat and had so many fresh ideas for photos that I loved. They go out of their way to get to know their clients which makes things so much more comfortable when being photographed. It is so nice to have people you trust and truly like around you on your big day. We LOVED all the pictures they took of us. Additionally, the way they capture small, candid moments throughout the day truly tells a story when you look back at them. That has been so fun for us as we reminisce about our day! I could not be happier we selected them to document our special day.

I contacted Bryan and Mae after I had visited their website. I loved their style - bright, fun, and all about capturing emotion. Even though they live over 600 miles from our wedding location, they were eager and willing to make the trip at a very reasonable cost. Bryan and Mae were an absolute joy to work with. They must be little worker bees, because they always responded quickly to emails and phone calls, and got my photos back to me a few weeks before I expected them. Their enthusiasm and love of photography (and love of love!) really shine in their images. A GREAT value for such lovely photos and a wonderful experience. Contemplating flying them out for all major life events in the future :)

My husband and I really enjoyed working with Bryan and Mae!

They did an excellent job of explaining how our day would go, what they'd recommend in terms of sequence, shots, etc., but were also very open to our thoughts and opinions, as well as what we were hoping to capture for the event. Bryan and Mae did a wonderful job of putting us at ease, and I know our friends and family also enjoyed working with them.

Additionally, before, during and after the ceremony at the reception, Bryan and Mae were extremely unobtrusive - I knew they were there taking lots of photos, but it didn't really distract anyone, or interrupt any of the events, dinner, speeches, etc. They were busy capturing great shots, and they were never "in the way" at all.

The photos are fantastic! It was so great to get the CD and view everything - in addition to everything you'd want and expect to see, I was pleasantly surprised at many of the other shots and moments they captured throughout the day.

We would strongly recommend Bryan and Mae as wedding photographers - they were an important part of our big day, and truly did an excellent job capturing the essence of the day for us - not to mention they were really fun to work with!

These guys are great and tons of fun! I am so happy with the photos that we have. Everything went so smoothly even though it was 85 degrees outside with 80% humidity; these guys really kept their cool and everyone was better for it.

We honestly cannot say enough good things about Bryan and his work! Choosing a wedding photographer is such a stressful task, and my husband and I spent several months of our engagement devoting our time to choosing the PERFECT one. We looked at numerous reviews and websites of photographers all over the country, but after much searching, we landed on Bryan’s website. We fell in love with the artistry and emotion in his photos, not just the “posed” moments he captured. He has a talent and heart for seeking out the intimate, candid moments that most photographers miss in the craziness of a wedding day, which is exactly what we wanted. His love for his work, combined with his witty and engaging personality, gave us COMPLETE peace in knowing that we had chosen the absolute best person for the most important day of our lives!
Prior to our big day, Bryan went above and beyond to meet up with us on multiple occasions to get to know us as a couple and go over our schedule. It meant a lot to us that he really wanted to know our connection as a couple so that he could accurately capture those moments at our wedding. On the big day, Bryan did an INCREDIBLE job of keeping everyone corralled for the group photos while also spending a lot of time taking photos of just the two of us. So many of our friends commented on how much they liked him, and once the photos came in, they were even more impressed. We had a fall wedding in Arkansas, and he was able to capture the warm lighting of our favorite season with such amazing skill. Almost two years later, we still swoon over the beautiful moments he gave us through his photos. We could not recommend a more kind, professional, and talented photographer! Thank you Bryan!!

Bryan is absolutely amazing! He did a mix of traditional and his artsy photos which is amazing. He ended up bringing a 3rd photographer when we paid for two, i'm sure that doesn't happen often, but was a great bonus for our day. We had so many good photos to choose from! There was one picture, that honestly made every penny worth it, and it was when my grandpa was leaving the wedding and hugged me goodbye. It was such a raw picture, and brought tears to my eyes right when I saw it. I would hire Bryan over and over again, from family pictures to anniversary pictures.

Bryan and Mae are an awesome couple. They had a really positive upbeat attitude that made them so fun to work with! It was my first time working with a photographer and they were so helpful with making decisions. The communication was amazing! The most we would have to wait would be a day for a response. The photos turned out beautiful. The only thing that I could have wished to be different was to have more photos taken, especially at the reception. Choosing Bryan and Mae as our photographers for the wedding was one of the best decisions we made for our once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Brides, Run Away

Our wedding photos are such a disappointment. Here are my takeaways from working with Bryan.

DAY OF: The shot list Bryan insisted we gave him went out the window during our family photos. He did not get a majority of the photos we asked for.

COMMUNICATION: We received not one sneak peak of our photos for 8 weeks after we BEGGED to see ONE picture from the wedding after he was posting pictures of us on his IG stories. I know for a fact this is standard practice across the industry that a couple receives as least one photo in the one to two weeks following. He threw together a slide show of images to which my mom said "oh no, he must not have retouched these, this is bad." When I expressed my concern over the photos (everyone's faces had dark shadows on them, our skintones all looked sullen and grey, pictures were oversaturated) Bryan said "Sorry, retouching is extra!" Mind you, we already paid for a $7k package.

PHOTOS: The photos themselves we received are terrible. Our family portraits (the most important part of a wedding) are so incredibly unflattering. I should have known since we were standing with our backs to a bright window, but I trusted the photographer (my gut instinct was right). Brides, have a trial with him before hand.

We've tried to clearly express our dissatisfaction in our photos, even offering to take them elsewhere for retouching if he can send us a bigger edit. He stopped responding to our emails, but still sends us automated emails asking us to refer him and rate him online, so here you go!
