Amazing experience

Brian was absolutely incredible and truly helped make our wedding weekend unforgettable. He designed a perfect backyard tent and lighting setup in a space that was not intended to be an event space. We worked together on the vision - he had great ideas, was super accommodating to my ideas, and ultimately came up with a perfect way to transform the backyard into a welcome party and after party venue space from dusk until late in the night. It completely transformed the space and made it feel elevated, warm, and inviting. The barrel high-tops were such a hit; guests congregated around the high-tops all night long. I honestly can’t imagine how our welcome party or after party would have felt without his work.

Throughout this whole process, Brian was amazing to work with. He patiently answered my endless emails and texts, was flexible with our evolving ideas and budget, and made everything feel easy. He even pivoted week-of when we saw rain in the forecast and it was clear his goal was to make sure we had the best weekend. Seeing him arrive on the day was such a calming moment - we knew everything was in great hands and didn’t have to worry about a thing.

We’re so grateful for everything Brian did and will absolutely be recommending him to anyone looking for event lighting. He made the entire weekend look and feel amazing. Thank you Brian!!

Fantastic lighting and greatservice!

I am a long time client of Superlative Events. Brian has the best uplighting I have ever used. My personal lights went up in a garage fire. When I found Superlative Events, I never looked back. He ships them to me and they're always on time and come with a return label. The price is affordable. I can adjust the lighting to any shade of any color unlike other up lights that are either one color or another. There is a color wheel on the remote that you can finesse the shade of the color. And then with a couple of taps of the remote, then you can make them into dance floor lighting. They are superb and Brian is fabulous to work with and a very nice man. I highly recommend this company. I have been using them for numerous years now. I do events every weekend and so I have a lot of opportunity to work with these lights and I'm always receiving compliments at how wonderful the room looks and the dance floor after dinner dancing looks!

GoBo Sign for my wedding

I am extremely happy that I found this company for my wedding! They were very affordable, well within my budget, and the sign was beautiful!🥰My wedding coordinator set this up for me. My name is Carol Moore and I am the owner of A Starry Night Music in New York City. I always use Brian King and Superlative Events for any of my lighting needs. His Custom-made lighting is lightweight, easy to transport, has a remote control that changes the color to the very shade you want. Others are just yellow pink blue. His lights can be finessed to any shade of any color. And then with the touch of a button can be turned onto wonderful festive dance floor lighting. Is the only one I use and the other one I recommend!

Knowledgeable and Efficient Service!

Superlative Events saved our preschool auction! We had been planning to hold it outside for months, and the weather took a turn for the worse last-minute. Superlative Events came through with two perfectly-sized tents once we told them what we were looking for. Brian was knowledgeable about what size tents we would need and honest about what would work best for our needs. They worked with us on extremely short notice and were even able to deliver the tents to make it easier on us. They communicated quickly and effectively and did not rush us in returning the equipment. The tents looked beautiful and allowed us to hold the auction we had worked so hard on outside! Would highly recommend Superlative Events for their efficiency and high-quality equipment!

The best! Absolutely fantastic every time!!

These are the best uplights ever! I am based out of New York City. I have rented from Superlative Events numerous times over the last couple of years. They are lightweight, remote controlled, super easy to place in the room. What I love most besides the weightlessness of these units is the fact that you can adjust the ambient room lighting to perfection! I used to own American DJ lights and they had 20 something blue shades but nothing that resembled beautiful candlelight or soft salmon color. It was either yellow or red. These are completely controllable so you can match the room to perfection with not just the color but the tone and shade of the color. And then with the touch of the remote control during dancing you can put it into numerous modes to cycle through a variety of colors to give a real pop to the Dancefloor. They’re fantastic. Also the delivery is always to perfection. Brian always makes sure that the lights arrive well ahead of the event day. The best!

Wonderful Company to work with

I worked with Superlative Events for a glow party. We couldn't decide on what size lights and which space to utilize. Phenomenal Experience!

Brian went above and beyond to get our company's holiday light display turned around on an extremely tight timeline. He navigated significant hurdles created by the electrical setup of the building, and was responsive around the clock. Amazing & beautiful wedding lighting & sound!

Brian & Superlative Events was absolutely AMAZING!!! For our outdoor/Marquis Tent Wedding in November 2018, we used them for our Lighting, Sounds, and DJ Services. We couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. During the initial consultation, Brian was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of the wedding related questions that we had. He was also able to give us some great advice and helpful recommendations given his previous experience working with numerous weddings. Brian was very creative and paid so much attention to detail with every aspect of our wedding.

The sound during the ceremony was crisp. I can’t tell you how many people came up later on, and said that they could hear absolutely everything even though it may have been difficult to see everything. We had a wedding of 300 people outdoors, so it can be difficult at times, but Brian was able to accommodate and appease everyone. For the reception, music was pumping, and Brian situated the speakers in a way that didn’t take focus away from the wedding décor. He had a variety of songs that entertained and appealed to the crowd. The place was bumpin’ when it was time to party!!

In addition to that, Brian did our LIGHTING as well. Our wedding was freakin’ BEAUTIFUL!!! He LIT that thing up! The pin lighting on our Flower centerpieces at each table looked classy and glamourous. Our Marquis Tent was bright and caught everyone’s attention. He adjusted the lighting during the dinner, speeches, and the reception to accommodate for the mood. Brian has a great sense of judgment to adjust to the mood of the environment. Totally worth having the lighting as it brings so much more attention to detail, emphasizes, and highlights everything during your special wedding day.

Aside from being incredibly professional, He was fun, energetic, accommodating, and made us feel super comfortable. Would 110% recommend Brian & Superlative Events for any future events. They helped make our WEDDING DAY something that was BEAUTIFUL and UNFORGETTABLE!!! Thanks BRIAN!!!

Superlative Events GoBo lighting was a HIT at my wedding on September 8, 2018! I kind of dropped the ball and didn't sent over the initial design I wanted until 2 days before the event, and Brian was SPOT ON...in sending me emails to let me know they understood and ensured me we would have the GoBo before the event!!! The box arrived on Friday in time for my DJ to review the "CLEAR" directions for my wedding the next day. The GoBo added an extra special touch to a FABULOUS day!! Brian King, my hat is off to you!
With two days...TWO DAYS...until my wedding, I was watching the weather like a hawk. Unfortunately, we were due for rain, lots of rain. Like most brides, I had my moment of panic and tried to think what we could do to make the day a little less gloomy. I left a message and received a call back within less than a half an hour. Not only was Brian able to provide some lighting on short notice, but he was flexible and able to lift my spirits.
The lighting package we got was wonderful and provided some much needed mood lighting in our reception tent.
If we ever have an event that calls for lighting, he will be the first one we call.
Thank you again for bringing some colour into our wedding.

Brian was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Total breeze. The equipment was very easy to set up and install. Everything is packed extremely well and tight to keep things from shifting, so I would suggest taking a picture of everything before you start taking it out of the case. It helped me repack everything correctly so nothing got ruined when it was getting shipped back to him. Highly recommend!!

Excellent service! Brian from Superlative was very responsive right off the bat. I received the lights and chargers (per request) because I was planning on using the lights 2 nights in a row. The remote that controls the lights is very cool too - touch sensitive and very easy to operate. I'm glad I didn't pay a vendor to put these in place and decided to DIY them with Superlative Events, because I never even turned them on during my second event. Very reasonably priced and easily operable! Wonderful experience overall!

I ordered a gobo light kit and cake spotlights from Superlative Events for my wedding and am so very happy with them! I sent in a custom monogram for my wedding and the monogram looked amazing with the gobo projector! The cake spotlights really make a difference for my wedding cake as well. Superlative Events provided fantastic music (thank you Jeff!), gorgeous uplighting, and a Photo Booth that left us with timeless memories! I am beyond happy and extremely satisfied with their work and have gotten many compliments from every area that they covered. The DJ played the perfect mix of music that catered to every age group, the uplighting was the exact finishing touch that made our reception room pop, and the photo booth brought out the silliness in everyone which was exactly what we were hoping for. Hiring Superlative Events and Brian King was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! Personally, I believe that the DJ can make or break a wedding and I'm so happy I decided to go with Superlative Events. We got a lighting and DJ package. Brian King was very helpful and always willing to listen to what we wanted. He even created a monogram using our favorite video game which was a surprise for my husband and everyone loved it!

On the day of our wedding he was constantly attentive to my husband and I, he even brought us drinks while taking pictures outside to warm us up! Brian's music choices were perfect during the reception! Everything flowed smoothly and all of our guests were really impressed with him. The dance floor was constantly full, which is exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend Brian to anyone getting married in the VA/DC/MD area. You won't be disappointed!

The lights were super easy to set up and to adjust (color and brightness) during the event. They added a beautiful touch to our event. They came a couple days early and we had a few days to ship them back (in the box they came in with return shipping label provided by Superlative Events). I would recommend superlative events to anyone for up lighting. Bets of all, we saved lots of $$ over renting locally or hiring a lighting guy.

It was wonderful working with superlative events. We rented uplighting from them. They had wonderful pricing and the uplighting was battery powered which made my wedding coordinator feel better because she did not want guests tripping on cords. The uplighting was very easy to set up and helped give our reception a wonderful glow. Definitely worth the investment and a great company to work with. Very great at communicating and being responsive. I never felt unsure any step of the way, they were very clear with shipping instructions and made it simple for us.

We wanted uplighting at our venue but really didn't have a very big budget for that. I also didn't think of it until the last month! Superlative Events made it easy and affordable. They were very responsive and helpful. The process is very easy.

I have used Superlative Events twice in the past 3 years and I would highly recommend them! If you want to turn a plain room into a very special venue, Brian is your guy! Our most recent event was a "Fire&Ice" themed Sweet 16 and Brian's vision for the lights was perfect! The room looked amazing! Brian is great to work with - very nice, accommodating, worked with me patiently as I kept changing my mind before settling on our final contract and vision. My husband has always loved the look up uplighting for weddings, but it can be SO expensive. Our DJ offered uplighting services, but it was way out of our budget. There were places you could rent uplighting for less money, but it seemed like so much work to have to set them up, run extension cords to all of them, tape the cords down to the floor to prevent tripping, etc. That's when I did some Googling and found Superlative Events' wireless rental uplights. These things are SO COOL! Flip the switch on each light, choose the color on the color wheel remote, and you're good to go. It took literally 3 minutes to set them up in our venue, and the effect was really impressive. It really changes the look and feel of a room! The lights were so impressive, in fact, that our DJ (a guy with previous stage lighting experience) commented that their company really needed to offer something like that instead of the expensive ones they currently offered. The shipping process was very fast and easy. The case of lights arrived on my doortstep a few days before the wedding, and I simply put them back in the same shipping box after the wedding and dropped it off at FedEx with the prepaid label. Easy peasy! Big thanks to Brian King at Superlative for the great communications, and great value!

The website was easy to use. Brian responded to us right away to confirm that the lights we wanted were available. They shipped at the right time -- we had a tiny snag with Fed Ex where they said that it was at the warehouse but really they were retrying a delivery to us and we almost missed it, but that is because FedEx in our area is kind of terrible. Anyway, it was easy to set up and use the wireless lights and shipping them back was so easy. They were a bit smaller than I had imagined but still produced a nice effect on the brickwork at our reception, and I think the ease-of-use for the wireless ones is an ok trade-off for maybe having them be smaller than other uplights.

I rented some light from Brian for a two day event in May. He was very professional and helpful from the start. He has really simplified the process and it is so easy to do the lighting yourself. He will ship the lights to you with all the extra items you will need with a set of very detailed instructions. He will even include extra batteries for the remotes with the package. So detailed and through not to mention how reasonable their pricing is. I had a wonderful experience working with this company and will continue to use them in the future.

I used this company to rent some uplighting for my wedding. Their service was absolutely amazing. I will get a response on all my emails within few hours, all my questions were answered in a very polite and professional way. Rental equipment arrived when promised in the conditions described. It was extremely easy to set up and use and still came with a step by step instructions on how to do it. Great people to work with and absolutely great value for the money. We worked with Brian King of Superlative Events for both DJ and Lighting services for our wedding on 04 January and we couldn't be happier! The hotel wedding coordinator even asked for his card to add this company to their Recommended Vendor list because he did such a fabulous job transforming a standard hotel ballroom into a lavish winter-wonderland wedding. The lighting was just beautiful. We had a combination of up-lights and texture lighting along the walls and spot-lights on the tables. I was also thrilled with the DJ services. The music I knew would be great, but I was even more impressed with his ability to keep the party moving, keep the guests informed of what was happening and what would be coming up next, even reminding folks that the cake would be served to their tables after the cutting. He was also a huge help in coming up with the order and timing of events at the reception, helping us make sure we kept the party moving but still had time to visit all the tables. My biggest worry was having those awkward "lulls" in the reception where guests don't know what to do and I was relieved when this never happened. He was professional to work with, set the right tone for the reception and kept the dance-floor packed. Couldn't be happier!

These lights were by far the best investment for my wedding! I originally planned to hire a lighting company to come in and provide/operate lighting which would have cost a couple thousand dollars. These lights came in a very sturdy case with just the lights and instructions, not a lot of confusing parts or cords. You literally just turn them on and place them around the room and one remote changes all the lights at once! It was sooooo simple! And the color from the lights looks amazing. I NEVER write reviews for anything but I felt that this was one amazing service and so affordable. People literally thought I spent thousands on my lights!

Superlative Events handled the DJ (Brian King), Lighting and Photobooth for our wedding near Charlottesville (Mount Ida Farm) on June 29, 2013. They did a FANTASTIC job with everything!!! Brian was an amazing DJ and he played all of the music we wanted and handled the introductions and announcements throughout the evening perfectly. The lighting was absolutely gorgeous and turned out exactly like we wanted!! And the photobooth was extremely fun for everyone and the best part was that we got to have the guest book at the end and see everyone's photos from the wedding night!! We contacted Brian Knight with Superlative Events to provide DIY uplighting and cake spots for our reception. Brian was absolutely fantastic to work with, He explained everything about the lighting and worked with me to figure out exactly what we needed. The lighting was super easy to setup and only took about 30 minutes. Fantastic - I got the lighting package and photobooth from Brian and Superlative, and they are amazing, good pricing, but more importantly complete pros! We had a team of experts there to make sure all ran well. The photobooth was THE hit of the night, and so much more fun than a guest book - I know who my guests are lol, but instead of just a signature I have great photos!

AMAZING!!!!! Im not sure where to start, but I am so glad that I chose Superlative Events to provide lighting for our Wedding Reception. I couldn't ask for a better vendor! Dan set up our lighting and was responsive, professional, and went above and beyond the call of duty. He stayed for the entire reception and made sure our lighting was exactly how we wanted it. He also helped us set up our slide show, which was not required of him. When the reception hall got warm, he helped us prop open the doors to get some air flowing.

Our reception was beautifully lit. I couldn't have asked for a better set-up. I highly recommend Superlative Events for your wedding needs. We only obtained them for lighting, but I can only imagine their other services are just as top-notch.

Brian at Superlative Events did a great job on our wedding. We rented two gobo projector with custom gobos and all the trimming. The light were shipped in a a case with extension cords, tape and everything we needed. It took me and one other person less than 20 minutes to put both lights up. Both lights were already set up and sized for where we put them. Great service! After the event, we only needed to pack the items up (less than 10 minutes), close the case, add some zip ties and drop off at Fedex. Very easy!

Brian King was a fantastic DJ at our wedding reception! He used a perfect blend of professionalism, charisma, and flexibility throughout the evening that made the event run smoothly and seamlessly. He went above and beyond to help with set up tasks, coordinate with other vendors, and assist wherever possible...including finding someone to bring drinks to the wedding party while we were outside taking pictures! Brian was more than willing to accommodate modifications to the timeline, last minute changes or unexpected delays and frequently checked in with us to make sure we were all on the same page. Even when we lost power for the last hour of the reception, Brian continued to provide entertainment and music for the group through any means he could, whether that meant playing songs from his phone or beat boxing as a background beat for people to sing! It was an incredibly fun! Choosing him as our DJ was one of the best wedding planning decisions we made and we recommend him highly!

Wow....just wow. I can honestly say Superlative Events is responsible for turning our wedding into the most spectacular event ever. Since we used all their services, let me break it down by each type:

DJ:
Jeff was our DJ and we also worked with Brian during the planning stages...both were absolutely incredible. We must have sent an obnoxious amount of emails to them asking questions, getting their advice, and adding details to the contract if we thought of a new idea or a song we just had to have. They were always extremely responsive and excited to add on the additional requests. When we first met with them, we really had no idea of the "flow" of a wedding. But Brian guided us through the schedule with ease and he knew exactly how to work with our style and theme. He suggested jazz/strings/light airy music to play before the ceremony while guests were being seated. During the cocktail they played some Frank Sinatra/Michael Buble (very cocktail-y) type of music and it was perfect. We never had to specify the particular songs, they just knew how to gauge the crowd and select appropriate songs.Once the reception started, Jeff was really impressive. We asked for a 90's music medley to start off the "party time" dancing and boy did we get one. Every single one of our friends jumped out of their seats and started screaming, dancing, and singing along with our favorite high school tunes. It was exactly what we had hoped for.

They even went as far as providing speakers for our deck outside and microphones for our singers and officiant during the ceremony. They really do just think of everything....I never would have known that the officiant needed a mic, but no one would have heard her if we didn't have it! Jeff himself was energetic, young and professional. Some DJs are super cheesy and I can't stand it. But Jeff was the perfect blend of classy, fun, and an overall great MC.

Lighting:
If you are questioning whether or not you "need" lighting at an event...let me tell ya, the answer is YES!! It makes SUCH a huge difference. Uplighting around the room provided a faint purple hue (you can choose any color you can imagine). It was so classy looking. They also suggested bliss lighting on the ceiling which made the smaller event room feel like an elegant ballroom. The custom monogram light shining on the floor gave it our own personal touch. And my favorite- the cake lighting! Our photographers had a ball shooting the cake becase it just popped when the sun went down...it really showcased the cake the entire night. Brian even helped us order sparklers for our sendoff- truly a versatile company.

PHOTOBOOTH:
Ben is fantastic - everyone loved his enthusiasm. They brought a whole box of props (awesome) and offered to provide a scrapbook that we didn't use simply because I had made my own. Ben made sure to save a copy of everyone's pictures and put them in a basket for us to keep. The photobooth itself is so cool. You can fit more than the standard 2 people in there- some people managed to squeeze in about 10! The quality of the pictures is perfect (I've seen some at bridal shows that stretch the image and look distorted) and they even post them to a public website for everyone to view afterwards. They also designed a logo at the bottom of the filmstrip that personalized it to our wedding. At the end of night, Ben grabbed the groom and myself and had us take some pictures in the booth. I am SO glad he did that- we got caught up in all the excitement we forgot to do it ourselves. The pics came out wonderfully and I'm glad we have them to add to our scrapbook. Even more importanly, the pricing on the photobooth is a steal! They were even cheaper than some of the livingsocial deals I've seen AND they stayed the whole event- what a deal!

I am beyond impressed with the professionalism and creativity of Superlative Events. Even when the prices were a over my original budget, they found ways to still give the same affect with a smaller dollar amount. Everyone is easy to work with and a pleasure to be around. THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR WEDDING SO SPECIAL!!!

Future customers- you really have the whole package here. They will undoubtably make your event one to remember :)

Brian King at Superlative Events was a fantastic DJ! DJs have such a bad reputation for being cheesy, loud, etc., but Brian was exactly the opposite.

Not only does Brian have great taste in music - the breadth and depth of his music choices show no boundaries. He is a true music lover, but not a music snob in that he caters the evening's choices to your taste and style with no questions asked.

Several of our guests commented that he was the best wedding DJ they ever heard! We had a small wedding, and I was afraid that no one would dance, but people danced up until the end when they proceeded to ask poor Brian to continue to play.

Not only is Brian a true master at his craft, he also served as almost an unofficial wedding coordinator - working behind the scenes with our reception location and other vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly, and making sure that the evening stayed on track with all of the different pieces (speeches, dances, cake cutting, etc.) It's easy to get swept up with the guests, but Brian made sure everythign ran smoothly. I didn't have to worry about anything with Brian - if anything, he went above and beyond to help make our event seamless and perfect.

I would highly recommend Brian as a vendor. After the ceremony, all I wanted to do was dance to good music without having to worry about reception details. Brian made it happen.

Honestly, I am not one to give 5 out of 5 stars across the board, but Brian and Superlative Events is definitely top notch.

We had an open house for our new office space and Superlative Events went above and beyond in all aspects. Our party was Oktoberfest themed and Superlative Events provided lighted trees, hanging strand lights, colored up-lights, two gobos, full sound system, custom music playlist (of German music of course), and a full photobooth to transform our space into an indoor beer garden. Our guests could not stop talking about how the lights transformed the space and the photobooth was packed all evening. To top it all off, Brian was extremely professional, prompt, and genuinely interested in the party's success. He was also able to set-up and breakdown very quickly.

I cannot say enough about Superlative Events's expertise, enthusiasm, and professional attitude and equipment. Thank you Brian and Superlative Events!

Brian King was our DJ and he did an amazing job. Brian has a great, friendly personality and really seemed to care about our wedding and making sure it was what we wanted. He kept the dance floor packed all night (even with our friends not wanting to leave the open bar!). He was super professional, played all our suggestions and none of our no-plays and overall was perfect. Brian also provided us with lighting for an ice sculpture, the cake, a custom monogram, which looked really cool; and really great, mood setting uplighting around the room. Brian was an awesome dj! He met with us initially to discuss our style, likes and dislikes and goals for our wedding day. He brought examples of his other services and lots of song lists to think through if we liked or disliked. We felt very comfortable with his attention to detail.

Brian provided us with microphones for our outdoor wedding, lighting for the tent and dj services for the night. He is extremely professional and well spoken. He doubled checked how to pronounce everyone's names that he would be announcing and kept us on track for the schedule of the night that we had discussed. He also provided a printed version of the schedule to all of the other vendors so they would know what the timing of different events would be. He even found us as we were wrapping up some photos and brought us each a drink from the bar!

Dan was our DJ from BK the DJ company. He was very professional and met with us prior to make sure that we knew exactly what we were in store for. He is fun and exciting and kept the flow of the wedding going. There was a moment where he got the whole place jumping and it is such a wonderful memory for us. Brian and Dan were fantastic! Knowing both of them from college, I already knew the type of guys they were, but I was still blown away by how incredible and professional they both were that whole night! They really made our wedding extra special. We've had so many comments about the incredible DJs and we couldn't agree more.

On top of being great DJs, they really helped us at crunch time as well. Some things far beyond our control started falling through in the last 1-2 hours before the start of our wedding ceremony and both Brian and Dan stepped up to help get things organized and back on track so that I could focus on being a bride! They were so flexible and helped us rearrange some portions of our ceremony and reception at the last second when a very last minute rain storm changed some our original plans.

They are wonderful guys and fantastic DJs! I will recommend them to everyone!

Bk The DJ is AMAZING!!!! I worked with Jeff King (and his assistant Dan) as my DJ and he was wonderful. I have honestly had so many people even after the wedding commenting on how great our DJ was!! How often does THAT happen?? I'm truly blessed to have had them at my wedding. Brian (BK) was awesome to work with and so quick to respond to ALL my emails and questions!! He masterminded the operation and Jeff truly carried it out to perfection! They also did uplighting for me and it too was amazing!! It totally added an awesome element to the reception.

I was nervous about having my wedding reception in a hotel ballroom. However, Brian managed to transform the room and our guests loved the "night club" effect. Brian understood our needs, was extremely responsive and has a great sense of humor. I would definitely work with him again.

Brian was incredible! His planning was extremely thorough and we were very comfortable going into the wedding reception, knowing Brian knew our likes and dislikes. He was able to incorporate everything we wanted into the night, including lots of country and even polka!! The dance floor was jam packed the entire night - I couldn't have asked for anything more!

Randy was our DJ. He did a wonderful job keeping the crowd dancing and having a great time. We had a good mix of guests at the wedding and Randy did a great job making sure everyone had a great time. He played a good mix of great songs that pleased everyone. We also had lighting and monogram from BK the DJ and it looked absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend Randy.

Brian was awesome! He played all the music we asked for and did not play the things we asked not to by played. He cleared any requests with us to make sure they were ok. Brian also put together an amazing slideshow of pictures of my dad and me to be played during our dance as a surprise to my dad. Brian also provided the ceremony music and all the necessary mics for an outdoor ceremony so that everyone could hear. Brian also provided lighting for our event which added so much for the atmosphere. He also created three custom designed monograms that we used from everything from the invitations to the cookies to the ceremony programs to the wine bottles. Brian also created our monogram in lights to display on the dance floor. He helped to really personalize our wedding and make it everything we wanted it to be. I highly recommend him.

Brian did an awesome job! He met with us and gave us a ton of ideas for our reception. As the date got closer he checked in to see how we were doing and made it easy to get the rest of the details together. Day of the wedding the ceremony was awesome, he did a great job getting the music to come in at just the right time. At the reception we had him come up with monogram light for us that really looked great. The lights he recommended were fantastic and really added a lot to the venue and matched the colors of our wedding. He kept the dance floor going the whole night and played music for everyone. Everyone told me that it was one of the best weddings they had been and it was a good mix of music. I would definitely recommend him!

Brian has been a friend of mine for many years and I have watched his business start and grow. When I decided to have my wedding in Virginia I knew I would choose him to be my DJ. Brian makes it easy because he is completely trustworthy and can read the crowd so well. He knew exactly when to divert from the play list to play what all the guests wanted to hear and dance to. The floor was rushed as soon as Brian invited everyone to dance and it didn't clear until we left the reception, it was incredible...I couldn't have been happier and now those songs hold amazing memories for me, my husband and all of my closest friends!

Brian King was an excellent choice for our wedding DJ. He provided undeniable professionalism during the reception. He only spoke into to sound system to announce and direct the events that we had previously decided he would do. There were no dumb phrases, jokes, or innappropriate sayings - he's clearly not about that. He has a great, clear voice that catches people's attention and sounds professional. Brian took the time to get to know us and really tried to understand our vision for the big night. One thing he did that impressed us, was before the bridal party introductions began at the reception, he came to each one of the bridal party and asked how to correctly pronounce his or her name. Since then we have recommended him to multiple friends and family!

Brian made our venue's vision come to life. Our ceremony and reception looked so incredible. The lighting really made the whole theme come together. The soft ceremony lighting just made our whole space feel inviting and the blue/purple of the reception was a space ready to party! We even added a last minute thing and it worked out perfectly.

Superlative Events had everything I was looking for when it came to our DJ and lighting needs. It was great to be able to find these two services (and more) from one reliable source.
Brian was really able to grasp both DH's and my music taste. It was a perfect mix for the guests that were in attendance. It was comforting to know that Brian was in control starting with the bridal party being announced. By that point, I was mentally checked out and ready to have a good time!
Brian is a very, busy man. Know that once he has you on the books, there is nothing to worry about. He'll be there and will be 100% yours for your special day/event.

I rented equipment from Superlative Events via shipping for our farm wedding in Minnesota. Everything was seamless and perfect. The best part of our wedding was the dancing. Brian and Superlative Events listened to our desires for fun dance music and certainly delivered! He kept the dance floor full the whole night with both our younger and older guests (which is hard to do). He is definitely not the cheesy DJ you think of when it comes to weddings. He was fun and energetic and always had a positive attitude throughout the whole wedding process, which was very important to us, two very stressed people planning a large wedding. The best thing we heard was that a number of our friends liked the music so much that they made workout playlist using the songs from our wedding. We loved Brian and would recommend him to anyone.

Brian and Dan were amazing! They are super friendly and accommodating. Our guests complimented them on the great job they did at our wedding and I even had some girlfriends ask me if they were single. (Sorry ladies, they are taken ;D ) We also hired Brian to handle to lighting for us which really set the mood. Everyone raved about our grand entrance with the gigantic screen and they loved the monogram on the dance floor.

Brian was awesome!! By far one of my best vendor picks for my wedding. I attended a wedding in the past that he worked, and knew I had to have him at my own! Even though we planned the wedding long distance, Brian made it feel like we were in the same state. He was extremely patient with us and always helpful. I literally had no concerns about anything. Our DJ was Jeff, who was incredible as well. Jeff did a fantastic job keeping the dance floor packed and the mood fun. I truly have nothing bad to say about either of them and highly recommend them to any bride! You will not be disappointed!

We used Superlative Events and worked with Brian King to rent our uplighting for our wedding in November. Brian was great at giving us tips for where to place our uplights and quoted us an estimate that was reasonable and within our budget. The uplights were set up by our coordinator the day-of and there were no issues - the lights are simple to set up and take down with little to no prep needed. It was perfect to add the lighting we needed to our reception hall. I would definitely recommend this to those needing affordable and easy uplighting!

From beginning to end, this was a very positive rental arrangement. I almost felt like I knew Brian King personally. He was so professional and on top of everything. The total lighting was awesome and made the sweet sixteen for our granddaughter over the top. She loved it and all her guests thought it was very special. Would highly recommend this for any function that needs a great icing on the cake...the lights were IT!

We got married at the Country Club of Fairfax last Saturday, and Brian King was our DJ and lighting expert. He did a fabulous job! The room was completely transformed with beautiful uplighting, and we even had pin spotlighting on our centerpeices and the cake table. Everything was amazing, and we can't wait to see the pictures! On the DJ front, Brian was exactly what we wanted -- attentive, helpful, and not that typical "cheesy DJ." He is very composed, flexible, and really dealt with our group perfectly. The music was top notch, and exactly what we needed with our mix of ages. We got the classic tunes and dance songs, but also the fun 90's throwback music that we wanted as well. Quite a few people have requested our playlist, so that has to be a good sign :)

Brian King and Daniel Dunlap did an amazing job not only DJing our wedding but making sure everyone had a great time at the Photobooth! My wedding coordinator was M.I.A. my entire wedding but Dan made sure everything ran on time, without him I don't know if the wedding would have been so much fun! I would recommend these guys to EVERYONE!!! I even had last minute changes with the wedding ceremony location and they responded immediately to my frantic emails and made sure everything was taken care of, making it less stressful on me.

Brian was an incredible DJ. I was very picky and gave him very specific likes and dislikes, and a list of songs I wanted to play. He was very accommodating and did exactly what I asked. He even deflected many requests for that silly cha cha slide song, which I very much appreciated!! The dance floor was packed the entire night and he really kept the flow of the reception going. Please consider Brian King for your next event. He put me at ease from the very beginning when we hired him for our September 2012 wedding. He listened to what we wanted and what we did not want, and we felt like we could trust him throughout the process - which ended up being very true on the wedding day! He kept us and our guests dancing all night - played all our "must play" songs and none of our "do not play." And I love the way he faded the music as he transitioned from one song to the next, he was great! Also, he was not hokey at all and was only on the mic to help announce the first dance, toasts, cake cutting, etc. Finally, Brian was so attentive during the reception - checking in on my husband and I thoughout the night to make sure we were doing ok and getting us drinks if we did not have one in hand! It downpoured on our wedding day but Brian was a very calming influence as we prepared for our backup ceremony plan. If you want someone you can completely trust to be responsive, on time, help make sure your reception is on track, and who can execute your musical vision, hire Brian King!

Brian was absolutely amazing. We used him for lighting and it was like he was reading my mind--I gave vague directions like "it can't be too pink, ok?" and he took that and made magic :)
We absolutely trusted him with the details of set up and he didn't disappoint. He also stayed around through the night to make sure everything was just right at different points of the day as the room was affected by the daylight then the sun setting outside.

And as a bonus he was around to help me calm down before I walked down the aisle. It was such a random but special moment with someone who had already done so much to make the day special.

We were super pleased with this service. We did the DIY uplighting for our wedding ceremony and reception. Brian was great with correspondence and ensured we had the correct number of lights for our venue. The whole process was super easy and setting up and using the uplighting was super easy. We were very pleased with lighting. If there ever comes a time I need uplighting I will certainly use Superlative Events again.
