Jonathan is an amazing photographer! We booked Jonathan for both our engagement photos and wedding. Before it all we spoke with him on the phone and he spent the time answering all our questions and telling us what he was all about. We were very impressed. When we first met, he was so personable, professional, and kind. He took hundreds of amazing engagement photos and made it a fun and relaxing experience. Plus, he had the photos ready so quickly! It was incredible. As for the wedding, again, HE WAS AMAZING. He came to our house before to shoot photos of us getting ready, got to the venue early to get set up and take pictures of the men, and was on it all night. It is just him so you don't feel overwhelmed and he captures real and amazing moments. He is so efficient, it was important we made it to our cocktail hour, and he got all the photos done in no time, and they turned out perfectly! He captures photos all the way until the end of the night and got so many fun pictures of not just us and our bridal party, but of all our friends and family at the wedding. In addition to all the photography, he created an INCREDIBLE video montage of our special day and got it to me before I woke up the next morning! All the photos were done within less than a week. We are so glad we hired him and would highly recommend! THANK YOU for capturing our favorite day! Jonathan is so talented and we recommend X100000!

Awesome photographer!

Jonathan was our photographer for our wedding recently and he did a fantastic job! We had a large wedding party, and we were working on a relatively tight time frame because of the timing of our ceremony, and he really jumped in and took charge and we got through the photos very efficiently. The photos turned out great and he was very thorough in capturing every aspect of the evening. He even created a very cool video to capture the evening (including some drone footage!). He also got our pictures very quickly and they turned out amazing!

Jonathon is the best!

Jonathon was truly amazing at our wedding. He is so efficient and quick, yet gets the most lovely photos. We received our wedding video 2 days after our wedding, and then our photos 5 days after our wedding! This was such a joy to look at during our honeymoon. I would recommend Jonathon to anyone!

Jonathan was wonderful to work with. We loved doing both engagement and wedding photos with him, and can't recommend him enough! He has a fun-loving personality and really set us at ease, which allowed him to capture tons of beautiful photos in such a short amount of time. He's a real professional, and at the wedding, he was able to capture all our family photos in a very efficient amount of time so they could enjoy the celebration. He even put together a short video of the day and got it back to us the day after our wedding which was a real surprise. The video captured the feeling of the day and I know we'll be looking back on it when we are old and wrinkled to remember. Jonathan wastes no time and worked hard the whole wedding to capture moments and details of the day. He even used his drone to get wonderful perspective shots that are absolutely breathtaking. Getting high quality wedding photos is an investment that we are so glad we made, as we will be looking back on these photos for all our years to come.

What can I say about Jonathan that hasn't already been said? If you're debating on whether to book him, do it (and thank me later!). To start off, guests RAVED about how much they loved Jonathan! He is personable, patient funny and SO easy to work with. We really feel like we gained a friend by working with him for the weekend! He was without a doubt, one of our favorite vendors to work with. I agree with one of the reviewers, with the quality of his photographs, I almost feel like he undercharges for his services! Jonathan has a real eye for good shots. He sometimes shoots his pictures so quickly that you wonder what they're going to look like, but I assure you they will turn out amazing. I am astounded at the quality of the pictures (not to mention the quick turn around time!). What I appreciated about Jonathan the most was how easy it was to talk to him. We were doing a Sri Lankan/Indian wedding ceremony, which Jonathan had never done before. He took the time to learn about the ceremony and asked thoughtful and intelligent questions in advance. The result? He captured all the important moments like he'd done this a million times. Bravo Jonathan, thank you for capturing our wedding better than we could have dreamed of!

You seriously can't go wrong choosing Jonathan. He made our wedding 20x more fun by connecting with guests, getting everyone on the dance floor, and seamlessly transitioning from one part of the night to the next. Our photos turned out beautiful and we loved how he captured candid and posed moments. Also-the video is amazing and I loved that he worked so hard to get it to us so quickly. You just can't get much better than Jonathan! The photos speak for themselves period. He captures all aspect of the wedding from the people down to the landscape. He was great to work from the start, engagement photos. The video he makes is an extra bonus and something we will cherish forever. Family and friends were so impressed on how much Jonathan did. Jonathan is BEYOND AMAZING! Book him now and book him fast…you won’t regret it. He’s by far the best value in the area…and in my opinion, he undercharges for what you actually get. I found Bluephoto through Jonathan’s blog and was immediately struck by how beautiful his photos where. What really got me were his 5 minute videos of your wedding day (which he gets to you the next morning!...whaaaat??). Our engagement session was a breeze. We had never been part of a photo shoot before and he made us feel so comfortable. He never asked us to fake any poses and he was able to coax genuine laughter out of us.

Jonathan was the photographer for our wedding at the Loma Grande Ranch in SLO in September 2015. He was originally supposed to shoot our wedding in September of 2014, but 3 months before the wedding, we had to push the date back a year because I had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had to undergo 9 months of treatment. Jonathan was so understanding and accommodating. He never questioned my intentions and he was so supportive throughout the year. I was beyond excited when our wedding finally came and Jonathan delivered everything he promised. I have no idea how he dealt with my family portraits (40+ people) and our 20 person wedding party. But he did an amazing job! Our photos were sent to us on our honeymoon (unlike most photographers). But you don’t have to take my word for it…you can see his photos. They speak for themselves.

We hired Jonathan to photograph our wedding and I think it was one of (if not THE) best decisions we made. He is a master of his craft and knew the pictures that needed to be taken without any direction. Jonathan captured every little detail and all of the big moments. He was super easy to work with and fit in wonderfully with all of our guests. He easily accommodated my request to quickly take family pictures after our ceremony so that we could enjoy our cocktail hour down in the caverns with our guests. Just two days after our wedding, Jonathan sent me our video - it brought tears to my eyes, as well as my husband, our family and friends. He made our wedding look like a fairytale. It was breathtaking! Shortly after that, we received an email with a link to all of our AMAZING pictures. Our guests and family were shocked that we were able to print/email pictures so quickly. Looking at the pictures brought back so many happy memories and also provided a great representation of things we missed during the busy night. Don't wait too long...Jonathan books up quick for a reason! He's seriously the best.

Jonathan at Bluephoto is an incredible photographer! He did our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and both turned out amazing! Jonathan is one of those vendors that you hope stays in your life for years to come. He is funny, personable and incredibly energetic. He just gets it. He is a magician with the camera and knows how to get the exact mood in every shot.
What is perhaps one of the most impressive things is that his turnaround on our engagement photos was under 4 days. You normally hear horror stories of weeks and months but in his case it felt like a matter of hours.
The man is nothing short of a genius.

Our number one priority in choosing a photographer for our wedding was finding someone who could capture the important unscripted moments of the day, both big and small. We weren’t overly concerned with the posed shots of the two of us or of family or of pictures of decorations and the venue (although those turned out wonderful). Instead, we wanted the things that truly mattered: the look on my husband’s face as I walked down the aisle, my sister crying during her Maid of Honor toast, my dad trying to stay composed during our Father-Daughter dance, Matt’s grandparents embracing in an emotional hug. Jonathan Roberts of Bluephoto delivered. From the first time we talked on the phone, I knew Jonathan was the right choice for us. He is easy to talk to, extremely professional, honest and helpful in regards to helping the bride and groom put together their photography needs, and willing to do what the couple wants. On wedding day, he was courteous to our guests, efficient in taking family pictures (we got them all done before the ceremony!), unobtrusive to the events, and toward the end of the evening, a great dancer on the dance floor. The next morning, Matt and I woke up to a short video of our wedding set to music, and it somehow captured the feel of our wedding in a mere four minutes. Let's see, how to describe Jonathan - he's like a ninja that left ninja school, picked up a camera, and never looked back. Jonathan was everywhere at once at our wedding - on the dancefloor, up in the trees, out in the fields, up on the roof. You see him one minute and then he's gone the next, like some kind of photography leprechaun. All I can say is that if he is not ruinously violating all the laws of physics, then Jonathan absolutely worked his tail off at our wedding. Jonathan captured so many ridiculously awesome, stunning, funny, heartwarming, and genuinely candid pictures that you feel embarrassed that you aren't paying him more. And they all look SO good, to the point that I can't say to people "the pictures don't do it justice," but rather that"this is exactly how it looked and felt!" How many people really ever say that and mean it? When you work with Jonathan, you're signing up for all the professional qualifications: skilled photographer, punctuality, not-your-average-wedding-picture, etc. But here's the kicker - what you get is so much more than that. Jonathan has a warm personality and I really always felt like he was there doing more than just earning his paycheck. He interacts with family and friends fluidly, has a hilarious way of getting everyone in and out and on with the day, and he finds photo ops and lighting in places you never even saw it.Jonathan understood it was an important day for me and my wife and he moved and acted like he really took that to heart. He was always receptive to feedback about things we wanted, but what really pleased me was that when I told him to just do his thing, he didn't take that as a free pass to take routine pictures. He ran with it (sometimes literally) and pushed his photography above and beyond anything I had seen in his other shoots. Seriously, Jonathan clearly still loves to try new techniques and I absolutely encourage you to let him stretch his legs, a freedom that I think truly rewards the client.

Jonathan is awesome!!!! I cannot even describe him. Everything below is basically pretty accurate! He is so much FUN to work with. He is SO TALENTED! Very prompt on replying to email and getting pictures posted! I loved having him for the engagement photos! He made me feel really comfortable and the pictures turned out AMAZING. And as for the wedding photos.... my heart basically stopped when I saw all of them! He also finished my wedding video montage the night of! I've been putting this review off b/c it's difficult to express the way I feel about Jonathan and his photography in words. Simply put - "I am a Raving Fan."

I consider myself a manly man, a linebacker, tough, rough & tumble person. I'm the guy with the firm handshake, the kind of guy that does not cry. Well, apparently Jonathan saw right through my tough guy persona and was able to prove all of the aforementioned untrue in a matter of seconds. The day after the wedding we had invited him back over to have brunch with our family and friends. Jonathan showed up with a sneak preview of a couple of his favorite photos from the day, along with an unbelievable video montage of the wedding. This "tough guy" cried like a baby through the entire thing. And I continue to cry as we re-watch the video over and over again. It is perfect.

Did I mention that he left the wedding close to midnight? That meant one of two things. Either he has a bunch of Keebler Elves making videos in his studio, or he did not sleep that night. Like I said, he had the video ready the next morning. This meant the world to Sarah and me.

Now that we have our photos back, I can say that the still images that he creates are equally stunning. Jonathan has a gift with light and as our time with him went on, I began to notice that the wheels in his head are always spinning. He was on a never ending quest to find the best lighting and backdrops the entire time. As I looked through the pictures, there were plenty of "how did he do that" moments. You know those pictures you see in magazines, where the light comes through in perfect fashion. Jonathan is a true artist.

There is nothing I want more than to share our amazing experience with the world. Every couple should have the pleasure of working with Jonathan and I will continue to rave about him.

Jonathan at Bluephoto was by far our best wedding decision! We knew immediately when we met him that he would be easy to work with and we felt comfortable with him every step of the way. Our engagement shoot was amazing and we quickly learned how much energy and genuine love for photography Jonathan has. On our wedding day, Jonathan worked so hard to get every important shot, was on his feet for over 10 hours capturing so many amazing moments and blended in so well that our family and wedding party felt immediately comfortable with him. He was present on the dancing floor, jumping around with all of so that he was able to get plenty of candid shots.

All of our guests raved not only about how awesome Jonathan was during the wedding and reception, but also for the wedding video that he was able to put together and post online for us the very next day! It was so special to be able to recap the night during our Sunday Brunch. What an amazing snapshot of our wedding the video was!

As if that wasn’t enough to make us love Jonathan, he was able to get our entire wedding album up just one week after our wedding!!! I have had so many compliments about his work from guests and people who have seen the photos. We are so happy with all of the images and can’t wait to start printing some up! Our photographs are timeless – the quality we were most looking for in our wedding photography and the style will last us a lifetime. We highly recommend Jonathan for his impeccable service, passion and skill.

Jonathan Roberts of Bluephoto is simply brilliant. Five stars isn't enough. Jonathan just goes above and beyond. My husband and I just got married last month at Santa Margarita Ranch and Jonathan was our photographer. We found him online while researching SMR and quickly fell in love with his work. Photography was my #1 and I knew right away that I wanted Jonathan to be our wedding photographer. We love his photojournalistic modern style of photography.

From our engagement session to today Jonathan has been a dream to work with. He is not afraid to be adventurous with his photography and he is professional, fun, and easygoing. Our friends and family have been duly impressed with our engagement photos and our wedding photos.

After months of looking at his pictures and wedding recap videos I was so excited for it to be OUR turn! Our wedding party and our guests LOVED working with Jonathan the day of the wedding. He fit right in with the group and was right out there with us on the dance floor! His wedding video recap is priceless and he often posts it quickly after the wedding - we don't know how he does it! Jonathan recently photographed our wedding and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. From start to finish Jonathan's attitude was cheerful, energetic and relaxed. I'm not sure how he manages to encompass all three but he does it with ease and he doesn't miss a beat! We first met Jonathan at our engagement shoot and within minutes we felt comfortable with a huge camera and a stranger in our face no less. In fact, at one point he mentioned, "okay, you can stop kissing now." I suppose somehow we became too comfortable and forgot he was even there. Jonathan captures the real energy that people have; the funny faces, authentic laughter and the intimate moments that can only be seen from his point of view. He gets those shots that people find themselves thinking, "how did he pull that off?" Only we know that Jonathan is willing to sacrifice his clean clothes, get down in the dirt, balance himself and his equipment behind a delicate branch all while transforming something that looks ordinary into the extraordinary. The single most important decision I made during my wedding planning was changing my date to accommodate his talent. Not only did we get our photos back within days after the wedding, we also received an amazing video of our day in less than 24 hours! Yes, this single shooter photographer who spent about 12 hours shooting our wedding found the energy and time to process a video he put together while taking our photos at the same time? Makes you really wonder, how does he do it? His work is nothing but the best, his editing is clean and timeless. I know in 20 years when I look back at these photos I will know that he wasn't processing our pictures with the most recent trends that will only prove to fade with time. Just the two of us came from NC to Santa Margarita Ranch for our wedding; we were impressed with Jonathan's portfolio and new he was an AMAZING photographer from the very beginning. I'm going to echo all of the wonderful reviews about Jonathan because IT'S ALL TRUE, PEOPLE.

Being a top-notch photographer is only half the battle-- the other half is making clients feel comfortable and covered. Jonathan wins at both. He's fast (but not intense), easy-going (but gets all the shots), and fun & involved (but he blends in). Sounds like some sort of super-hero-photographer, right? Just wait until you get the little mini-movie of your day! You'll be SO VERY thankful you chose Jonathan at Bluephoto!

We are still getting compliments on our wedding photos, the mini-movie, and Jonathan himself-- just the way he immersed himself in the crowd on the day and how quickly he posted his work. What more can you ask for?!?

Jonathan at Bluephoto was AMAZING!! We found Jonathan after we had already put a deposit down on another photographer, but loved his work so much that we lost our $1000 deposit so that we could have him. We didnt meet Jonathan until the week of the wedding (because we did a destination wedding) but he immediately made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Our engagement pictures and photos from the wedding are simply stunning; so candid and beautiful. We already have them displayed all over our new home. We love his ability to capture the raw moments and the lighting he uses in his photos is just gorgeous!

Another great thing that Jonathan does for weddings is his video montage. From our wedding day, he put together a 5 minute video. This video is something that we will forever cherish. It is like a mini movie of our day. Our friends and family are still commenting on how unique and wonderful the video he made for us was. Everytime that we watch it, it brings us back to the happiest day of our lives:)

We would without a doubt use Jonathan if we had to do it all over again and would highly recommend him to any bride out there who wants candid, amazing photos.

I just want to thank you for doing such an amazing job on our wedding photography. Being in the business, i know a lot of people but could not imagine anyone else doing my pictures, and not only did you not
disappoint... you exceeded my expectations 10 times. I am beyond pleased!! There are just too many I like!! Great light, great angles, great ideas. I love them!

You really were a pleasure to work with the day of, and many many of my friends said the same things. You wereso sweet to ask how I was and make sure i was comfortable and calm. I cannot say enough and every time I watch my video or look at my pictures... they just make me happy. They bring me back to each moment that is hard to remember in detail.

“Our experience with Jonathan at Bluephoto was, from start to finish, wonderful. From the get go, he was transparent about how he operates business and willing to tailor his services to our needs as a couple. He is fun and easy to be around, which made for light-hearted and laughter-filled interactions. Such interactions made our engagement shoot a great date night caught on film, and we would have loved to have Jonathan at our wedding, photographs or not. He was a great guest, dancing his heart out right alongside us. And all the while, Jonathan operates with absolute professionalism; he’s organized and always responded quickly to emails and phone calls. Not only that but he has a truly creative eye. His artistic vision is clear and his execution artfully imaginative. He utilizes light in a way that is breath-taking. And if anyone can get the shot, he can. Somehow, he’s everywhere. Looking back, we’ve said repeatedly, “How did he do that?!” or “I didn’t even know he was there!” On our big day Jonathan was unobtrusive, always available and calm amidst all the craziness a wedding day brings. The day now past, we can’t stop returning to our photos and video montage, which we’ve watched a good 30 times and shown to everyone we know. His creative gift has captured and immortalized our love in a way that we couldn’t have hoped to be more beautiful. We already look forward to working more with Jonathan for anniversary shoots, if he can squeeze us in.

Jonathan was so creative and professional. We barely even knew he was there during the wedding and reception and yet he took the most amazing pictures. He is really easy-going and flexible which makes him wonderful to work with. The quality of his work will not disappoint. The video montage that he provides in one of a kind and so creative!

It is incredibly difficult to use only 5 stars and a couple paragraphs of text to explain why you should choose Bluephoto for your wedding. If you haven’t already, your decision will likely be made for you when you look at his website and see the glorious use of light and the totally unique short videos. One wedding guest said our video looked like a promo for a trendy indy movie starring us – amazing!

In the end, there are many photographers who will take beautiful pictures of you on your wedding day. And if you are having a very traditional wedding and want a series of pre-configured photo ops and you want someone to hold a camera and take those pictures for you, go ahead and hire someone else, you can probably get that much cheaper. Jonathan’s talent is best used by cool, edgy, and unique weddings/couples who want the focus to be on the meaning of their happy day and don’t want to act. You can trust Jonathan to capture every detail while you focus on celebrating with your guests. Working with Jonathan allows even the most camera-shy couple feel comfortable and then to have beautiful artwork in which they and their family and friends are the subject.

He’s a very cool guy and it was like working with an old friend; our wedding was very small, and he still managed to blend in seamlessly. He works great with little kids, drunken dancing people, and everyone in between. It was an honor to work with him and we could not recommend his beautiful work more.

Where do I even begin?? We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Jonathan!!! Booking him was hands down the best decision of our wedding. He is such a pleasure to work with. We met with him a couple times prior to our wedding and everytime we had such a blast!! Jonathan has an amazing personality and a great sense of humor. This makes all the difference in the world. He makes you totally comfortable which is huge. There's nothing worse than being (and looking) uncomfortable on camera. Our engagement pictures came out beautiful. Our wedding pictures.....I have no words except for WOW!!!! I am completely OBSESSED with them!! Jonathan captured every special moment and every detail of our wedding. He is beyond talented!! Then there's the video that he does. This was such a great added bonus. We didn't have a videographer so this was a great way to relive the day. I have gotten rave reviews for all of our family and friends:) Jonathan is a total professional and very quick to respond. He even danced with my grandma!! Everyone had such a blast with him. And we recieved ALL of our photos within a week of our wedding!!! I could go on and on :) We would recommend him to everyone and anyone.

Jonathan was absolutely wonderful to work with. He was the first vendor we booked, and definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding.

First there's communication: you can email him, call him, send him a message on facebook and he always responds, and quickly! It's so nice to work with a vendor that doesn't leave you hanging for weeks on end.

Second, there's personality. It is just so easy to relax around him, and for me, that's saying something. I freeze up as soon as a camera comes within 10 feet of me! Jonathan has a great sense of humor, and is very open and friendly. I actually got compliments from my guests and wedding party on how great he was!

And third, there's the work. Oh my goodness, but our pictures look amazing! He somehow managed to capture all of the details of the day (no idea how - I think maybe a clone?), and captured them beautifully. I cannot wait to make an album so that I can show off my pictures to family, friends, and possibly unsuspecting strangers.

Jonathan was a fantastic wedding photographer! As we planned our wedding from 3000 miles away, Jonathan was great at helping us in the planning process and promptly answering any questions we had.

The engagement photo shoot and pictures (+ brag book) were great. Our wedding day photos came-out beautifully and we have had so many compliments on them. One of the points that stands-out is the video montage--really cool, especially since we didn't have a videographer and it's great to have a short video segment that captured our entire day. Highly recommend Jonathan!

Jonathan shot my recent wedding at Holland Ranch in San Luis Obispo. From the engagement pictures to the wedding day, he was a pleasure to work with! He was very prompt to get back to me with questions, and helped walk me through the timeline for the wedding day! He gives great direction when it comes to posing...I am no model but somehow he brought out my Cindy Crawford!!! He has a wonderful personality and above all he has a tremendous talent! What a creative guy...I love his photos and his video montages (which are included in his photography packages)!!

I LOVE Jonathan he is absolutely amazing. He was so easy to work with and so much fun. For our engagement pictures we visited 3 different spots. The pictures turned out beautifully and he was so relaxed and it was super easy working with him.

For our wedding Jonathan captured absolutely everything from that evening. It was the happiest day of our lives and his picture really show that. He did an amazing job. The pictures were done with in a week and so gorgeous. He also did such an amazing video. He has an eye for this and is so good at it.

I will not be using any other photographer. Jonathan is so amazing.

Jonathan is the BEST out there! From the engagment shoot he made us feel totally comfortable...we went to 3 different locations and had a blast! The day of the wedding he hung out with us girls and got so many great shots without envading just fitting right in. The guests loved him because he is so likeable and not an in your face photographer. He had a sample of our pictures availalbe the next day and all of the pictures available after a week! WE LOVE Jonathan and will use him anytime we need pictures in the future!

Jonathan at Bluephoto is SUPER-FAB! Sometimes getting pictures taken can be awkward..but there was never a moment like that with Jonathan! He's funny, very professional, and just a joy to be around! Jonathan was a pure joy to work with, and the photos that we have are amazing!! I am not one for being in front of a camera.....but Jonathan made me forget that. We loved that he let us have fun and just went with whatever came up.....none of those stuffy, uncomfortable, fake photos.....just us. Our engagement session was also a real treat and an added bonus for helping us feel so comfortable when the camera was on us on our wedding day. I can't recommend Bluephoto enough. You will not be disappointed.

Jonathan was so fun and easy to work with! He was extremely professional and always responded quickly to our questions. His personality makes you feel at ease. He knows how to joke around and have a good time with you which made us feel more comfortable. It didn't feel like some stranger was stalking us with a camera it was as if a friend of ours was photographing us. The best part is that he let us keep ALL of our photos! Very easy to work with, very conscientious of timeline at the wedding. We loved our engagement photos. Still photos turned out great. Great photo ideas during the wedding. We loved the movie collage!
