We had such a wonderful time at our reception at Bill Miller's. Cheri, the coordinator, was fantastic to work with and helpful. From the decor, to the food, to the staff, all of it was awesome! I highly recommend Bill Miller's to anyone looking for an affordable wedding venue that is not your typical cookie cutter reception hall!

We were very happy with our choice of Bill Millers Castle. They were very accomidating for our pre-wedding meetings and any information we asked for. We chose to get married on a Sunday so that we wouldn't be too rushed and we could choose our times more freely as Saturdays have two events and Sundays only have one. The atmosphere is beautiful, rustic yet still castle-like. We didn't want a typical hotel/country club style wedding. The setting at Bill Millers was perfect. There are so many options. La Luna catering was delicious, however, it wasn't exactly as our tasting was. We were a bit disapointed but I would still recomend them.

This place is amazing. The staff was incredible. Cherry took time to have several meetings with us to go over all of the details. She was very friendly and professional. The high ceilings, chandlers and fireplace really gave it a castle feel. It truly is an impressive place. La Luna provided the catering and it was tasty. They were able to accommodate my husbands gluten allergy and went above and beyond to assure that he had plenty of food that he could eat.

An amazing venue! The flexibility and service of Diane, the coordinator, was extremely helpful and we felt confident (which is huge on such a special day!). The accommodations for getting ready and the overall set up of the venue was spectacular. It looked like we were in for nasty weather, but there was the back up chapel inside. The place is enchanting! The food was excellent and the service was highly respectable. Our guests loved it as did we!

We just wanted to thank Diane Levi for the great service that she had given Elliott and I at our wedding reception on July 17, 2010. Diane seemed to be everywhere making sure that we and our guests had a good time.
Diane made the planning seem effortless for us. Now that I look back at my wedding day, it really was a good idea that Diane took my champagne glass from me . I am so glad that she prevented me from breaking it.
Many of our friends complimented us on choosing the reception at the beautiful castle and the delicious dessert table. Diane has suggested the Phoenician table at the last minute. She was right, it just added an elegant finishing touch to our wonderful wedding day.
I would like to thank Diane again for making our wedding day so special.

Thank you,

Elliott and Christine Alderman,

The staff at Bill Miller's Castle, in cooperation with Pierre's Culinary Events, did an unbelievable job. Not only were they attentive and accomodating, but they helped me through every step of my wedding planning process. They were flexible with menu accomodations (for food allergies and special needs); gracious to my guests; amicable to last minute changes; and best of all, helpful in all aspects. Diane, the event manager and wedding planner, helped me through those last moments of terror, reminding me that the day was supposed to be fun. The food was spectacular, the setting is unique, and the atmosphere is wonderful. The castle is a wonderful layout for medium sized weddings and has a wonderful renaissance feel to it. There are beautiful lawns, a picturesque gazebo and a fabulous ballroom. The weddings are held one at a time, so you certainly feel that the casstle is yours! I would recomend this venue and exclusive caterer to anyone in Connecticut.

We had booked out reception at Bill Miller's castle about a year and a half in advance. At that time someone else was handling weddings there. We felt very lucky that when managament changed the service remained great. Cherie was very helpful prior to our wedding as well as the day of our wedding. We were able to come early to take our pictures and they were flexible regarding when we can drop off all decorations etc. prior to the wedding. Everyone at the wedding loved the food as well as the rustic decor. It is a very unique place to have your reception, not the typical reception hall. Absolutely loved the place! Also has alot of amazing places to take pictures - indoor and out!

My husband was dead-set that he did not want to have our reception at a typical "wedding factory." When we looked at Bill Millers Castle for our July 3 2011 wedding, he fell in love with the rustic character of the place. When we went to La Luna to try the food I was sold as well. We had a wonderful experience! Cheri, the owner was personally available whenever I needed her (and I emailed and called A LOT). Our day ran so smoothly. Cheri and her assistant Lauren met every one of my requests, and our guests ate, drank, and danced the night away on the huge dance floor. I cant wait to see our pictures. I will say that the place is a little dark and masculine. I brought in sheer purple table overlays, purple uplighting, and lots of crystals to replace the silk flowers, and it totally gave the place a feminine romantic feel within the rustic setting. We had our cocktail hour out on the patio, which was awesome, and the guys were out there all night long at the cigar bar we set up. The food was excellent, the service was great, and my whole day was a dream come true. If you decide to go with Bill Millers, I strongly recommend J Cakes Bakery (which Cheri will tell you) they did a great job on our cake. I also recommend bringing in some of your own touches to make the place more romantic and soften in up.

Once we stepped into Bill Miller's Castle, we knew it was The place for us! It has such interesting stone and woodwork, and the inside is just so cozy and interesting that there was basically no need for us to decorate the inside. Diane Small was great to work with. She loves what she does and it shows. She made sure to coordinate all these little details that hadn't even crossed our minds yet, and we were so grateful for that. We are so happy with this choice for our ceremony (at the gazebo on the deck, which is Huge. We weren't sure at first if we'd like it but it was really pretty), and our reception. The unique architecture made for beautiful pictures. The staff was so helpful and friendly too. The catering packages there are all through Pierre Culinary Events and it came with so much included that we didn't have to worry about too many other things!

Fantastic place to hold a wedding. Enchanting, Old fashioned and heart warming as it is. Extra wedding decoration must
come from the party holders. The place is beautiful as it is if you like rustic which we *all did. 144 of us.
Bill Millers is a catered venue so the majority of the services are from them only unless things have changed since Oct. 2009.
We were caught in a during a change of hands which fortunately was "Ok" for us. A great time was had by all we'd like to
renue our vows some day the same way at the same place.

I stumbled upon this site drving home one night from New York and instantly fell in love with how it looked old rustic and romantic. i knew this had to be my wedding location. it was next to impossible to get in contact and maintain contact with the "coordinator" Diane. i had left this option behind until other circumstances caused me to push back my wedding date. we made contact with the castle found out they had made somecahges and were more than willin got work with us to make my wedding truely magical. or so i thought. everything was great we received a great looking contract as a late booking since my wedding was less than six months away. after i signed the dotted line things changed. and it went down hill all thru the wedding day!!. BRIDES BEWARE. the castle and Bill MIller are AMAZING and your guests will rave. until they have contact wiht the event coordinator Diane. Not a single person that was apart of my wedding or a guest that meet her had anything positive to say. to make this shorter version of the trouble i went through. two days before the wedding i get notified i cant be at the castle before 1pm (my wedding was @ 3) so setting up and getting ready was supposed to be altered to go around what should have been my days schedule to what fit dianes. details of my wedding that i was bringing home were shoved in acorner into a pile for me to hurry up and pack while the staff began throwing gosh knows what out around you, no time to figure out waht you still needed and wht they were trashing.. Diane CUT MY WEDDING DRESS AFTER SHE RIPPED IT AND THREW OUT THE EVIDENCE, she then told a bridemaid to SHHH about it!!! my genuine crystal cake toppers were given back and packaged dirty!!! and other aspects of my wedding were just thrown out and never returned!!!! AFTER SHE WAS ADVISED TO store them that we would be taking them home so they could be both kept as keepsakes and some sold to other brides. a HUGE keepake and memory LOST forever will be that my guest book for friends and family to sign was never placed out by her even after she had a list to follow how to find these items and was told and reinerated by a wedding party person to go place it out and wehre to get it. she never did. NOT A DETAIL ANY BRIDE WANTS OVERLOOKED .all in all the bad memories that i now hwave of this day were because of the cooradiator and could easily have been dealt with more prifessionally and in better manors. where my day could have been perfect. everythinjg else about the castle was extraordinary.
Bill Miller's Castle responded with the following comments:
Hello, It was some months after the wedding that I became aware that this review had been posted. The bride or the mother never contacted us to indicate that their had been a problem. When I became aware that there had been some issues I contacted and met with the bride, her mother and each of the staff who worked at the wedding. Our previous wedding planner, Diane, used to be a bridal dress consultant and knows her way around dresses. The bride did not pay for the ceremony the day of the wedding as promised, and I expect there were some defense issues around that fact. The brides are allowed to use the bride's room for 1 1/2 hours before the wedding, but it is not a salon for the whole wedding party to do everything ahead of time. I am sorry if there were mistaken expectations.
