Breathtaking Landscape and Flexible Service
We had a wedding late August 2025 and the weather was absolutely fantastic. As the wedding couple the primary comments of Belmont Manor are the following:
1) The natural beauty sets a classy and comfortable environment. Our ceremony only added chairs and allowed the landscape to be a primary decor. Our wedding Guests were very impressed with the beauty of the Landscape and I heard various compliments on the set up. The Reception tent is very elegant and maintains a high level of class and feel.
2) The venue is very flexible to allow you to use your own vendors. This allowed us as the couple to make it more personable and dynamic with vendors we had.
3) The staff was very responsive in both the planning and execution stage. THey did a great job of outlining capabilities and sharing best practices from previous events. The staff provided contingencies if weather was a factor The staff communicated during the event to ensure we stayed in timeline and informed of anything that would impact the deposit.
4) There were a few minor cons. The bathrooms are quite a distance to travel for older folks or people with disabilities. Also, there is no smoking on the premises which is a challenge if you enjoy cigars or have chain smoking guests.
We were very grateful to have used this facility and would highly recommend to others.

Nothing but amazing things to say about this place!
We had our wedding at Belmont Manor in July 2024, and I can't say enough good things about the place! With just six months to plan, every person we interacted with was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the whole experience so smooth. If you're on the fence about choosing Belmont Manor, just go for it! It’s a beautiful venue with fantastic staff.
We also had about 85% of our guests stay at The Cambria Hotel, which is about 15 minutes away. They were great too—very responsive and accommodating. We even paid a bit extra to keep the bar open both Friday and Saturday night, which was totally worth it.
Overall, I highly recommend Belmont Manor for your wedding. It was a perfect choice for us, and I’m sure it will be for you too!

Our Best Day Yet!
Belmont Manor was the best possible choice we could have made when picking a venue for our wedding. We had such an amazing time and everything was very easy. The staff at Belmont is friendly, easy going and ready to help you have your dream day. Even though we had to switch things up because of rain our day was still everything I’ve ever dreamed of. The rain plan is amazing and being able to use the bottom floor of the manor was so helpful and didn’t feel crowded at all. We cannot thank Belmont enough for giving us the best day to look back on forever!

Romantic Garden Wedding Vibes
When we first toured the Belmont, we knew immediately that it was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the tent to the gardens to the mansion, you get so many unique and beautiful spaces for your guests to spread out/explore. There are endless beautiful backdrops for pictures! Our guests were blown away when they arrived. There isn't anything like it in the area, especially for only 30 mins outside Baltimore city. We are so happy we chose the Belmont for our wedding!

Pastoral feeling, city location
We were completely in love with Belmont Manor, almost as soon as we started the drive to the house. It had everything we wanted and more. Over half of our guests came from outside of Maryland so we knew we wanted a venue near BWI, but we also didn’t want it to feel too close to the airport. Belmont Manor was PERFECT. It felt secluded and private, super green and lush, and yet was only about a 15-minute drive from the hotel where we had our room block (The Hotel at Arundel Preserve).
The manor, the grounds, and even the drive up to the venue are so beautiful. We loved having a dedicated bridal suite and a groomsmen area. We particularly loved the groomsmen area because of the pool table and cool vault from the prohibition era.
We had our ceremony under the magnolia trees which was perfect and beautiful and exactly what we wanted. I loved that the grounds were so big there were so many places we could do photos and get ready.
We are so happy with the tent. It was the biggest one we saw and even though they say it can fit 220 people, we only had 140 and it felt like the perfect amount of space for everyone. We also loved that the tables and chairs were included in the venue price!
We worked with Jeremy and Rachel at the Belmont and found them to be responsive, attentive, and knowledgeable. We would absolutely recommend other people have their wedding here, it was beautiful and exactly what we wanted.

Perfect Venue!
This is the most beautiful venue in the greater HoCo area. I toured about 8 different ones and so happy to have chosen Belmont Manor. The grounds were absolutely pristine every time we went to visit. Jeremy was so helpful every time we had questions and was quick to answer. The venue was the piece of the wedding that seemed to get the most compliments from guests!! Would highly recommend! Worth the $$!
Only suggestion is for the manor to have better signage of the bathroom locations inside so people know where to go. :)

Gorgeous venue!
We fell in love with this venue right away. Belmont is more of an outdoor venue with slightly more restriction (county property), but the staffs are extremely helpful and friendly in the process and in answering any questions. We got so many compliments from guests for Belmont and they had so much fun exploring its diverse feature (outdoor garden, small pond, manor, etc). We are soo happy we chose to have our wedding at Belmont!

The Belmont Manor is the most amazing wedding venue!!! The staff, location, and scenery are second to none. I do not know why folks would not consider this location. The Belmont staff provided superior service and were so easy to work with! I asked a lot of questions and they were prompt to respond to them all. They also worked closely with all of our vendors to provide the best wedding for my daughter and son-in-law. I would not hesitate to have another party at the Belmont!! Beautiful grounds & gardens!
Belmont Manor was a beautiful place to get married! When we toured the venue it was winter so the tent was not up and the grounds were of course not in bloom so we weren't sure what it would look like in the summer but it was SO beautiful. It is maintained beautifully, so luscious and had a lot of space for pictures and guests. We did everything outside at the end of August, it was perfect. Would definitely recommend it to others. The venue was easy going and allows you to bring in anything you need for the wedding, there are no required vendors!

Amazing Venue
Best outdoor area for a wedding reception. The grounds was big enough to accommodate all our guests. Beautiful outdoor garden for photos, the mansion was great to get out of the rain when the tent was closed. Overall such a great experience.

The most perfect day
Belmont Manor is truly a gorgeous property and perfect for your wedding day! The planning process went seamlessly and the staff there responds quickly and kindly to all emails and inquiries. My wedding day was absolutely perfect! I loved having my ceremony, cocktail hour and reception there! It makes the transition from each event very easy for guests (especially if have elderly there). The tent is included which was a huge deciding factor for me! Another thing I loved was that they had a very solid inclement weather plan so you could still have the wedding of your dreams! I would 100% recommend Belmont Manor and Historic park

Beautiful Venue for Wedding
The setting at the Belmont was absolutely perfect for a wedding. The trees, flowers, gardens and pond added so much color and beauty to the overall natural atmosphere. The tent provided the necessary cover but still created an upscale setting with the chandeliers, table linens and gold chairs. We were blessed with a beautiful evening with a sky filled with visible stars! The Belmont Manor house is a precious gem in Howard County.

Belmont is stunning
Belmont is a stunning venue! All of our guest were talking about how beautiful the manor house and grounds were for weeks! The staff works very hard to keep the grounds and house well maintained. We booked our date years in advance and each time we visited there were more and more improvements. The staff is super organized and our day of coordinator said she wished all her weddings were at Belmont because they run a tight ship. Whenever we ran into an issue Belmont's staff went above and beyond to help us work things out. It was the perfect place for our wedding, I'm thankful we choose Belmont.

Belmont Manor is simply beautiful
We had pretty much chosen a venue already until we made one final stop on our list to Belmont Manor... We immediately switched our minds! Belmont is just an unbelievably beautiful site with tremendous history and attentive staff to boot. Everyone who works there is very helpful and knowledgeable which makes the process very easy. One of the best things about picking Belmont is that you are not tied to any vendors exclusively. You are open to shop around and pick the right caterers/photogs/DJs/etc. for you and your budget. But again, the best thing about Belmont is the beauty. We wanted to get married outside and I don't think there's a better site in Central Maryland.

Beautiful wedding venue

The best wedding venue in the area!
Belmont Manor was the perfect venue for our summer wedding. From the start of the planning process, the staff was very prompt in response, very friendly, and committed to putting our ideas into fruition. They are very experienced with different kinds of weddings and features, but still make you feel as though your event is one-of-a-kind. You get to hire any licensed caterer and you get use of the entire grounds for the duration of your contract (and we did end up using so much of it). The grounds are gorgeous in any season, and the manor house features many fun historical artifacts and beautifully-decorated rooms. The only downside is that due to its amazing value and proximity to BWI/ceremony sites, Belmont Manor gets booked very far in advance (especially for Saturday events). On their website, they have open houses every few months where you can tour the venue if you are interested in booking it for your event. We were so thrilled to have found Belmont Manor for our wedding, as most other venue sites in Howard County have a guest limit of anywhere from 125 to 175 people. Belmont Manor's patio tent can seat up to 250 people, which is amazing!

What a beautiful venue. The staff there was so supportive and nice throughout my entire experience. The day of the wedding Tyler and his crew drove the groom and I around the grounds so my photographer could get pictures at different areas on the premises.
Highly recommend this venue to anyone! Just gorgeous.

Belmont Manor is an absolute dream! My husband and I had our wedding reception at Belmont last month and we only have positive things to say about our experience! When we first stepped onto the grounds at Belmont last year, within minutes we had made the decision to do have our reception there. It was the first and only venue we looked at! You would understand why it was so easy to make our decision after seeing it. The gardens are absolutely beautiful and they keep it in impeccable shape throughout the year. We had our cocktail hour around the aqua garden and our guests loved enjoying the beautiful landscape, just as much as us!
Not only is Belmont beautiful, but it is also affordable! The tent, tables, and chairs are all included, which is hard to find in a venue these days. The venue is also able to accommodate large number of people, which is very helpful because you can book this venue without having to worry about whether or not you will have to cut your guest list down later.
Last but certainly not least, their staff is amazing!! Everyone is so friendly and they are extremely responsive to emails! Tyler, the Special Events Leader, was unbelievably helpful throughout our wedding planning process. He was always quick to answer my questions or to schedule time for me to see the venue with family members or to just see if my tablecloths would fit the tables. Their staff goes above and beyond to make sure your wedding day goes as smoothly as possible!
Highly recommend this venue to engaged couples seeking their perfect wedding venue!

My daughter was looking for a venue that had beautiful gardens and tent for her late June wedding. When she saw Belmont, she fell in love with the Manor, tent, and gardens! The staff was very responsive to any and all questions and concerns. They are very up front about their rules for the property and had backup plans for inclement weather, if needed. We happened to have hired vendors that have worked the property before and there were no problems. Thank you Rachel and Terry for all of your help. It truly was a magical day!

The gardens are absolutely beautiful. My wife new this was the place for her as soon as we walked through for the first time. When everything is blooming the grounds are completely amazing looking. The staff is incredibly nice and made the day go so smoothly!

We’ll admit that when we first decided to sign with Belmont as our wedding venue more than a year and a half ago, we were really terrified by the negative reviews that we had found, but nevertheless, we took a risk and fell in love with the venue for its beautiful green gardens and landscape surrounded by nothing but pure nature. Now that we've had our wedding there, we can finally say with experience that it was one of the best decisions we had made regarding our wedding because even with pouring rain that day, we had the most spectacular wedding thanks to the AMAZING Belmont staff that supported us and did everything they could to make our day the absolute best (particularly under the gigantic gorgeous tent). THANK YOU to everyone on the Belmont team for making sure the tent was set up according to our wishes, for guiding our guests from the parking lot into the manor, and for understanding that the pouring rain had made all tasks a little bit more challenging than usual. If it had not been for Belmont staff cooperating with all our vendors to figure out plan B, we would not have had the most perfect day ever!

Belmont Manor was the perfect venue for our June wedding! It was the only venue we looked at, and the minute we saw it we were sold. We were attracted to it because it accommodated a large guest list, tables/chairs/tent were included in the rental fee, and most importantly because of the beauty that surrounded it! The venue is so well taken care of & the staff is wonderful to work with. The inside of Belmont Manor is very spacious & beautiful, the gardens are breathtaking & there are several options available for the ceremony location as well as so many wonderful spots for photos to be taken. The tent holds a large number of people & the draping/chandeliers will take your breath away. The possibilities are literally endless here, it is such a hidden gem! I can't recommend this venue enough!!!!!

I loved my wedding at Belmont Manor!!! My day was absolutely amazing the staff and my wedding coordinator worked so well together. I know they did a good job because i hardly saw them. Everyone was so busy running and keeping everything together it was amazing. I know my husband would not go for a vow renewal or a wedding anytime soon but i would have no problem coming right back to belmont. Thank you for making my day easy.

Belmont Manor is gorgeous AND affordable! The views from the front of the manor house are incredible, the house itself is a historic gem, and the gardens behind the house are gorgeous. The staff at Belmont was incredibly nice and responsive. They give you a lot of control in the planning process, and we had a great time working with them to plan our wedding. One of the key highlights to renting Belmont Manor is that when you book a wedding with them, you are the only wedding for the day. This means that the entire place is yours, and you don't have to worry about another wedding taking place near you or around the same time. Also, Belmont manor is close to the airport, which is great for guests that have to travel, yet it still feels like it is in the middle of nowhere. We could not have asked for a better venue for our wedding. Thank you!

We found Belmont Manor through Wedding Wire and also in an ad from Baltimore Brides magazine. There are a few open house tours of the venue per year, and I fell in love with the location and jumped on booking the reservation over a year in advance! Fast forward several months later, and our wedding day could not have been more perfect. Oh, did I mention it rained on our wedding day? Doesn't matter -- because we moved the entire ceremony under the GORGEOUS tent, and the cocktail hour was even more intimate and interesting because we were able to utilize the manor itself. If you're worried about rain, don't, because you will still have the best day of your life if you choose Belmont Manor.
The staff at Belmont Manor, Mary Venske in particular, were extremely responsive in the months leading up to the big day via e-mail. We found the pricing to be very fair. We were lucky that a new brick path was paved just about a month before our wedding, and it looked great! The bridal suite had also been redecorated to add more space, and it was so lovely.
On our wedding day, every one of the staff members was so kind and attentive. I'm sure there was so much work they were doing behind the scenes, but because they were so efficient, it looked as if everything had magically transformed by itself into my dream wedding. If you have guests with mobility issues, I will put in a shout out to the staff members who were so helpful in providing Golf Cart transportation around the grounds.
If you do get a clear, sunny day -- enjoy the grounds and gardens, because they are breath-taking. But if you can a rainy/misty day like I did --- don't worry, you will still have the wedding of your dreams if you choose this venue. <3

Belmont is such a hidden gem! My husband and I are SO glad we booked Belmont as our wedding venue. My family cannot stop commenting on how beautiful and perfect it was. The views alone are absolutely breathtaking, but the facilities are fantastic, the event staff are so helpful, and the value is ridiculously good (especially compared to so many other expensive venues in the area). There are multiple gorgeous options for ceremony sites. The house includes a large bridal suite, a billiards room for groomsmen to entertain themselves, and a perfect setting for a cocktail hour if you prefer to hold that inside. The tent is HUGE with multiple elegant chandeliers, the draping is so pretty, and you have options for putting the sides down or leaving them open to see all of the beautiful nature surrounding it. My day went so smoothly and was just what I was picturing. It felt like we had the most elegant garden party for our big day. I highly recommend Belmont Manor for anyone's wedding!!

The staff at the Belmont Manor was very accommodating. But most of all, the venue was stunning. It was just what we wanted- a way to still be outside in a natural, beautiful setting. Guests were able to enjoy the historic features of the manor, walk the gardens, play cornhole, and dance under the tent! It didn't rain, but even if it did, we would have been fine! It comes with very classy trailer bathrooms as well. Very little to worry about and so much to admire and enjoy! Highly recommend!

I couldn't have imagined our day anywhere but Belmont Manor. Everything was absolutely beautiful. During the entire process we dealt mainly with Bobby who was fantastic the entire time. All of our guests keep saying how beautiful everything was and how much they loved the venue. I am so so happy we were among the lucky couples to get married at this breathtaking location.

We found Belmont Manor & Historic Park and fell in love with the property right away. It has recently reopened after a renovation. Your rental gives you full access to the house and grounds for any 8 hour period. They only rent it out once per day, so you can choose the time you want without worrying about anyone else showing up. Cathy Allen & her assistant, Bobby Dietrich were wonderful to work with. The house & grounds were beautiful! There is a wonderful 60'x80' tent that has a 20'x20' wood dance floor. The tent's ceiling is lined/draped, and there are crystal chandeliers. The price includes all tables, chivari chairs & ceremony chairs. Those are things most other places charge you extra for. The house has a bridal suite at one end of the house & a groom suite at the other end of the house that they can use to get dressed in. Everything is very elegant and beautifully decorated. Your photos will turn out wonderful!!
All of our guests are still raving at how beautiful the venue is. You will be thrilled to choose Belmont Manor for your special event. The staff go out of their way to accommodate your needs. They are all very professional, friendly, and easy to work with.

Kim Jewer helped us and was our contact. Everything was done over email and phone, we didn't meet until the day because I was out of town. Kim was on top of everything and served as a wedding planner, although I do not think that was required for her job. Her effort and the staff was amazing. They upgraded things for us with little charges to make the wedding really beautiful. A great venue and great staff.

I had my wedding at the Belmont Manor and Historic Park this past weekend, and it exceeded my expectations! Rachel was the person that we corresponded with throughout the wedding planning process, and Cathy was the Belmont Manor staff person that was onsite on the day of the wedding. Both Rachel and Cathy werre so responsive and easy to work with. The venue is beautiful. There are so many beautiful places to take pictures. The value is great (the event is already set up with the tent, tables, and chairs, so you don't need to rent anything extra). The bridal suite was perfect. Everything really went smoothly, and I couldn't have imagined a more perfect day!!!! I would highly recommend the Belmont Manor! Just a quick note - I hired a "day-off" coordinator who was familiar with the venue to help with the planning, etc., which I found to be VERY helpful. All-in-all, I LOVE Belmont!!!

As soon as we stepped foot on Belmont's property, we knew that is where we wanted to say our vows. From the beautiful historical mansion to the gorgeous grounds and stunning tent, the venue was simply breathtaking. The property is so big that there are many ways that you could go about having your day set up. The staff also stayed very organized when ensuring everything was going to be set up as requested. Considering that it is a historical property, there are certain guidelines that must be followed. The staff could not have been more gracious to us the day of the event, as they actually had a dedicated golf cart for us when we wanted to take pictures on different parts of the property.

We had an amazing experience at the Belmont! All of the staff was so kind and helpful. The venue is STUNNING! I save a fortune on flowers because I didn't need them! The landscaping is absolutely amazing. All of our guests commented on how amazing the setting was. I was amazed at the price. So much less than other places we considered. If they happen to have a date and time open, JUMP ON IT! I would have an event here again in a heartbeat.

First of all, lets start with the obvious: could the setting be any more beautiful? This place is gorgeous, so peaceful and serene. The house is lovely and the tent is fabulous - I especially like the high ceiling.
Second of all, I will say that the Belmont staff - specifically Kim, the catering manager - is awesome. Kim is my most favorite vendor - she is calm, flexible, and experienced. She knows exactly what she is doing and by the end I pretty much just trusted that everything she recommended would be perfect. She is totally responsive, responds to emails within hours usually, and did not seem to mind answering my thousands of questions, even when I'd already asked them MANY times. Her personality is amazing and can calm the nerves of even the most high maintenance people. Seriously - when you're freaking out about all the details at the end, I can't tell you how much you will value working with that kind of person.
Third, the food was delicious and a huge hit. I would highly recommend the Chilled Seafood station - so classy!!!
All in all, everything was just perfect. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone.

The entire process was simple and easy to navigate.
The team at Belmont was wonderful, and we are so grateful that we were able have our big day at the Manor. Our ceremony was held outside in the garden, perfectly shaded by the trees. The reception tent fits comfortably all the guests we wanted, and had plenty of space leftover for dancing! Jeremy was very helpful in answering all of our questions, and making available all the best option for our wedding.

Beautiful Venue for an Outdoor Wedding!
We had our Oct 2021 wedding at Belmont & it was absolutely magical. We received so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful everything was. We loved being able to use all of the grounds - we had our first look at the aqua garden, ceremony under the magnolia trees, cocktail hour in the bird bath garden, and a tented reception. It was amazing & perfect.
The Belmont staff was also wonderful to work with. Extremely responsive to emails & questions. Absolutely would have our wedding at Belmont over and over again - no regrets!!

Perfect wedding venue!
We LOVED having our wedding at Belmont Manor. The gardens and reception tent are beautiful - we knew immediately that it was the perfect venue for us. There are so many outdoor areas for a ceremony, cocktail hour, pictures etc. that you can really make the space your own. On top of that, the staff are very responsive and helpful throughout the process.

Overall, we loved Belmont! The atmosphere is unbelievable and the views are stunning! We had a few minor hiccups with employee turnover and lack of communication; however, after being transferred to Rachel everything was taken care of perfectly and as promised. It ended up raining on our wedding day so the ceremony was moved under the tent, no big deal and just as gorgeous. The price was the most affordable we had seen for what was offered. The property is park land and Howard County Parks and Rec which did put a damper on a few plans (e.g., sparklers and cigar bar); however, the property has so much more to offer so I wasn't too upset about it. I almost didn't give this venue a chance as my mom picked it and I wanted a barn/industrial/rustic look. We are SO glad we gave it a chance and booked it as soon as we saw it :) My piece of advice would be to hire a day of coordinator (I got multiple quotes for $500 or less) and not let it deter you from the venue since Belmont does not offer this service and most other venues do. Great location, close to hotels, and has a magical feel pulling into the driveway....which is long! I would recommend Belmont to anyone!

We used Belmont Manor we our wedding and we are so glad we did! The whole venue is absolutely gorgeous and was perfect for our garden wedding. From then bridal suite, to the downstairs pool room for the guys, to the many different ceremony locations, to the incredible reception tent, we were in awe from the first time we saw the Belmont and knew it was the venue for us. All our guests kept commenting about how beautiful the entire venue was and how there were places to explore everywhere they turned. The staff was also very helpful throughout the planning process. We changed ceremony locations a few weeks before our wedding and all of the Belmont staff were so supportive in answering our questions and making sure we felt comfortable with all the changes. I was an out-of-town bride, and they let my parents explore the venue several times while answering their questions so they could pass along information to me. I called them several times with random wedding planning questions, and they were extremely helpful and sweet throughout. We also loved that we could bring in our own alcohol and catering staff, which ended up saving us a lot of money compared to venues which make you use their specific caterer. We loved working with the Belmont and are so happy that we chose it as our wedding venue. We could not have asked for a more perfect day!

The Bemont Manor was perfect for our wedding. You cannot get more bang for your buck with this venue. The tent is beautiful, the staff was friendly and they put in a new brick patio which is gorgeous. The whole evening was magical!

This venue was fantastic. It was absolutely beautiful and our guests offered so much praise for the whole experience. I believe extra hours are too expensive. We ran into some issues with pictures because we didn't have enough time to fit in everything we wanted (the place is huge! there are so many places you could take photos) and would have loved to spend more time there, but just couldn't justify booking the extra hours. That being said, I'd get married there again in a heartbeat. Thank you for everything Belmont!
Belmont Manor is a beautiful location and I look forward to it being the perfect venue for my 2017 day. Sarah has gone above and beyond in professionalism and responsiveness! She's fantastic. The value is great compared to comparable locations and what you get with it. Their booking is for an 8 hour day (I'd prefer 10, but 8 is better than some we've found for only 6 hours) and includes a gorgeous draped tent, tables, and beautiful upgraded chairs. Will update again after the big day, but so far the process has been relatively stress-free and I thought they deserved some kudos. :-)

What a venue, indeed! We came across this venue through a friend who got married this past June who looked in to this as an option for herself. Thank you friend! The moment we stepped on property we knew we'd book this venue. A gorgeous manor home, pristine grounds, a glamorous tent ... the holy trinity. Belmont has been, and still is, going through many upgrades since the property was taken over by Howard County Rec and Parks, and everything they've done to improve the property has been nothing short of greatness.
We worked directly with both Bobby and Cathy, and they were both very kind and willing to work with us through this massive life event. They're still relatively new to the whole wedding venue game, but from the time we booked to the time of our wedding (~1 year), they'd grown exponentially as a venue entity, and we can only assume they're going to get better until it's perfected. We're convinced there's no better value for your dollar than Belmont if you're looking for this kind of venue. There's so many options for ceremony locations, and photography locations. Unless it rains, and then you're fairly limited ... even so, those options are still easy on the eyes.
We held our ceremony and reception on the grounds, and while we had to deal with rain on our wedding day, everything turned out as good as it could have ... all things considered. The team at the Manor was more than willing to help throughout the planning process, and especially stepped it up on the day of our event when we had to change around a number of our time lines due to rain. My only suggestion would be for Belmont to offer services such as heating and A/C for their tented area in to their vendor booking options. Being able to book these services on the fly with the vendor directly would alleviate a lot of back and forth with 3rd party vendors as your event nears.

Belmont was the most gorgeous venue that I could ever ask for! I love that they provided gold chivari chairs as well as an abundant amount of tables. My ceremony was by the reflecting pool and I really felt that between the beautiful setting, the house, and the gardens, that I was in a fairytale.
The only issue that I had was that not enough time was provided in a basic package for the venue to allow you to have enough time to take pictures, have a ceremony, and a reception. You definitely would want to consider purchasing additional time to allow yourself to not feel rushed. The other issue that I had was parking- they initially told me that I could tell guests to park overnight and get their cars in the morning and then was told a couple days before the wedding that the info was incorrect. The Belmont staff were always professional when answering questions and got back to me within a timely manner.
For the price, the value of the venue cannot be beat! I do, however, recommend that Belmont stress to their brides/grooms that it is important to know that they will not be providing any day of planning and/or coordinating services.
Bobby was great to work with! He took us around on the golf cart and ensured that we were able to get to the ceremony by golf cart instead of walking my huge dress!

Absolutely Beautiful
Belmont Manor is an absolute gorgeous backdrop for any wedding. I am still in awe of the beautiful gardens, reflection pond, historic house, and tall grass fields. With so many picturesque places on the property, it is difficult to decide where to have your ceremony!
We used so much of the property on our special day. We decided to have the magnolia grove as our ceremony location, one of the gardens for our first-look, pictures by the reflection pond and the front of the house...the list goes on!
We ended up using the manor house for our cocktail hour and the tent for our reception. The tent is a beautiful backdrop. So many other venues did not include a tent liner or chandeliers inside their tent, but Belmont has a beautiful soft look inside of their tent and even has some vines along the top. They were very flexible with our lay-out for the tables.
One thing that I didn't realize when booking with Belmont is the absolute need for a day-of coordinator or wedding planner. Luckily my good friend's sister is in the business and stepped in to be my day-of coordinator. Belmont is very much hands-off on your wedding day. You truly need someone to be there to set up and take down your wedding. You also need someone to help coordinate your vendors. Other than that, I am still in awe of the beauty of Belmont Manor and can't get enough of our pictures!!

From day one, the Belmont was ALWAYS our first choice in a wedding venue. We had over 200+ guests for our wedding, so we knew it would be a full event. Unfortunately, our wedding was also the same day as the Ellicott City flood - and it thunderstormed/rained for almost 5 hours. Being the bride/groom - we were kept out of a lot of the "moving parts/details" because we had to move our cocktail hour under the tent, and then into the manor house. By now, it was pouring, so they worked with our caterer to make an open bar inside and serve our guests all of our passed hors d'oeuvres inside, despite crazy weather going on. They also still accommodated my Bridal party's separate cocktail all the while this still went on. The Belmont staff worked really well with our coordinator and caterer, and they all allowed extending our event (FOR FREE) for a whole hour due to the weather "delays". The only concern that I had was that the tent did leak down the middle during our first dance/speeches. But I'm only assuming this was because of such extreme weather. I can only imagine in a short storm or regular light/moderate rain it would be fine. Despite all unexpected changes to our day, my husband and I had an incredible time, and I know our guests did too. I only know it would've been better had it not been raining and we could've used the grounds to the full extent that we had wanted to.

Belmont Manor is an absolutely beautiful wedding venue. The gardens are gorgeous, the manor is beautiful, and the outdoor tent is elegant. My husband and I fell in love with Belmont the second we set foot on the premise in January 2016, right after getting engaged. One thing I can say about this venue--it books VERY quickly! The soonest we were able to secure a date was July 2017, so we hopped right on it.
One suggestion that I would make for future brides, we were assured that no one was ever hot inside of the tent because of the fans. Yes, we did choose to get married in July, which of course has very hot and humid temperatures. However, the tent was extremely hot inside. The fans were going, but were only in corners of the tent and directed at single areas. The dance floor is in the middle of the tent, and it really doesn't have any cool air blowing in that direction. The venue does not offer on-site AC in the tent, but I would recommend using an outside vendor to provide AC if you get married in the summer months.
The staff at Belmont was very friendly for the most part. Cathy was very nice to work with. Terri was a bit curt in her responses which was a little stressful, but overall we enjoyed who we worked with. The two ladies who were there on the night of our wedding were very helpful, and did everything they could to help us with the last minute decision to have our ceremony outside or inside, due to the rainy weather that day.
Overall, Belmont is a bride's dream of a wedding venue, and the pictures we were able to capture were stunning. Side note--because of the beautiful gardens on-site, that cut our cost of flowers for the ceremony WAY down. Make sure you have a solid Plan B option, should Mother Nature not cooperate :)

Overall good experience with Belmont, beautiful location for ceremony and reception! My husband and I had an awesome time there at our own wedding, and we've been getting compliments on everything since!

Belmont Manor was absolutely beautiful as a venue with several amenities included for the price. I must also advise, however, about the extremely difficult time I had in securing approval for the ethnic caterer that I wanted. Belmont has very strict rules in terms of contract language, which were not fully disclosed to me until we were far into the process. Everything resolved in the end, but please save yourself the headache and stress by asking very detailed questions if following your own vision for your wedding as opposed to one of their recommended vendors.

Just reiterating what most reviews already state. The venue is stunning. It feels like the middle of nowhere, and is gorgeous, but is also very conveniently located near hotels and the airport. The house and garden renovation were done to the highest standards. The positives: great location, beautiful venue, lots of ceremony location options, tables, chairs and tent included, staff was very friendly. The negatives: very strict 8 hour rental with no flexibility beyond paying a ton/extra hour so you essentially can't get ready there or decorate/set up at all beforehand this basically sets up a requirement to hire a day of coordinator with a staging crew to get it done FAST, lots of rules pertaining to caterers responsibilities (but if you use one that's been there before it was fine) because they essentially have no staff on hand to help with much, the day-of my entire layout was nixed and the wrong tables were out (they just left the setup from the Saturday wedding). Overall I would have it there again, but it has its flaws like every other venue.

I hope this changes the closer we get to our big day but we had a great point of contact who was very friendly made me feel like they would have done more to work with us with all the little details but he no longer works here. If this place weren't so beautiful we would have been looking for a new venue 4 months ago. They are not friendly at all. and their price increased $1,000 from 2016-2017 for no reason. What am I getting for that extra g??? All the communication seems to be focused on time you and your vendors can get in and get out and what you can't do while your there. It's the government, so what did I expect, but at the very least there should be enough stability that the chance they will close unexpectedly without warning or refund is low. Here's hoping something changes in the next 6 months!

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to your question about our price increase and visiting Belmont.
In November 2015 we increased our venue price from $3500 to $4500 for Calendar year 2017. Instead of charging our renters for our final operating plan for the site we increased our fees as each set of major improvements comes to fruition. In 2016 we opened a caterers kitchen wing, purchased a brand new 40X60 event tent and chandeliers, and designed a 4-part Partere Garden taking up the full back corner of our property.
In 2017 we will have a new caterers tent, outdoor lighting, replaced the stucco on the rear structure of the house, added a slate patio around the Aqua Garden, and added several newly designed and planted garden areas adjacent to the back of the house. We are also awaiting the details of three other construction projects that our renters are aware of, and that we will send out and post on our website as soon as we have the plans. We will not be increasing our rates for 2018, as most of our major improvements will have taken place.
In addition we get specific questions about why a vendor or renter cannot just drop by Belmont, and why we don’t have tours on the weekends? Belmont is booked for rentals every Friday, Saturday and Sunday and usually other days during the week. It means we have to control access to the site so that visitors are not walking around the property in the middle of someone else’s rental, walking into a wedding reception or knocking on the door during a business retreat!
We offer posted rental open house tour dates each month so that potential renters can come by to tour the house and grounds and get their questions answered. Once a renter books the property they can visit anytime during the week as long as they call in advance so we can put their visit on the calendar. We just want to make sure there is no other event to conflict with that visit, and that we are able to assist you.

Don't get me wrong, the venue is absolutely breathtaking. The gardens, tent, and house are beautiful. It was the staff that were no help at all. Prior to the wedding, the staff made it seem like they would be there to help during the wedding. That was not the case at all. The only thing I know they helped with the day of the wedding was the parking and nothing else. I was very shocked at how unprofessional the staff was after our wedding as well. My mother stayed after the wedding was over to clean up and make sure the venue met the requirements for us to get our security deposit back and they still did not give it back. She even asked the venue staff member if everything looked okay for us to get our security deposit back and they said yes. In order for you to have an organized wedding day at Belmont Manor you need to do A LOT of pre planning and communicating between ALL of your vendors before your wedding, Belmont will do nothing. Also, they have 0 flexibility. They have very strict rules and will not budge. DO NOT PLAN ON BELMONT STAFF TO HELP YOU WHATSOEVER. It's sad because the venue is extremely beautiful, but has no benefit when the staff is unhelpful/unprofessional.

Belmont Manor is an elegant, enchanting, and ethereal place. The gardens are lush and gorgeous. The reception tent is beyond belief! That's about where it ends. I would recommend that potential renters seriously consider the many rules and regulations that Belmont has (a whole book's worth). Since the venue is state owned and operated, there are very strict regulations and the staff does NOT make exceptions. For example, eight hours is included with a typical event rental. When working out my day-of timeline, I realized we might need extra time for photos and set up. However, I was told NO because I did not let them know within 60 days (I doubt most brides have the entire day-of timeline planned two months in advance). If I could do it over again, I would go with a venue that lets renters book the entire day and not just by the hour. The wedding day felt rushed and confined.
I was happy that Belmont allows renters to choose their own caterer (within certain limits). However, my caterer told me after the wedding that Belmont staff threatened to call the cops because guests were being over served alcohol. As far as I know, no one was out of line and there was no need to shut down the party! It was just normal wedding guests that were drinking and having a good time…it’s a celebration, right?? I really wish they would have at least warned us so we could have managed their concerns before making threats.
Finally, we had a miscommunication and did not have the truck keys to load up all of our supplies after the wedding. The staff seemingly “allowed" us to leave things there overnight and come back to get them the next day. I assumed since they gave us permission that we wouldn’t be penalized. Instead, they charged us $250 from the security deposit AND put all of our items outside in the rain!
Bottom line: think long and hard about whether you want to sacrifice flexibility, convenience, and freedom to have your wedding at this gorgeous venue.

I was recently a floral vendor at Bellmont. Everything seemed to go well at first. I had to find someone to direct me to where I was suppose to drop off the brides flowers and the boutiners. I arrived at the venue at 2:53pm the traffic on a Friday to get there was horrible. I left my home at 1:30pm. It should have been a 45 min ride. The road into the venue is poorly paved and not wide enough for two cars to pass its bumpy lots of PT holes. Then you come to a section of speed bumps. I think it took 10 years off the life of my struts and shocks on my car. We then were told to go around the side to deliver the table arrangements. Now the wedding is at 5:30pm the caterer arrived at 3pm with me that means no tables or table cloths set up . logistically taking the flowers from parking area inside venue was very inconvenient. My son carried everything up to tent but nothing could be placed. The arbor I was to decorate also arrived in pieces with screws that could not be used. The person who was coming to assemble it was delayed in TRAFFIC. My son and I tried to get it together but the screws were not working with the equipment so I proceeded to move my car to the mulch and dirt path where the arbor was unloaded from so I could work on the garland flower attachments I called someone to bring new screws. During this time no staff member from bell mint came to ask if we needed assistance or help in any way, but the staff were riding around in gulf carts doing nothing. 3 staff members came over to tell me not to park where I was because it was for thier golf carts. I said if someone would like to personally drive me and my extra buckets of flowers around in the golf cart I would be very grateful. But since no one has offered I will move my car when I am done. I dropped garland on ground . my son moved my car . I finished decorating cake with flowers and I was harassed again to move my car. It was awful. more time for caterer to set up and arbor should be on site set by staff

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Belmont Manor. Please allow me to address your concerns. Belmont is not a full-service venue. All vendors, including the caterer, florist, etc. are hired by and coordinated by the renter. We do assist with the process and advise of best practices in terms of vendor collaboration, but it is ultimately up to them to see that through.
For this wedding, the rental period began at 3:00pm, so you (and the caterer) arrived right on time despite the traffic. It is the responsibility of the permit holder, and/or their wedding planner to communicate with vendors this information and to coordinate an appropriate amount of time for setup and cleanup.
The Arbor is not something that Belmont provided, but I am sorry that you had issues with the construction. The golf carts are for the staff to transport wedding guests with accessibility issues. In addition, it is our policy not to transport any vendor equipment due to liability. It is also the responsibility of our staff to direct parking, and ensure that fire lanes are accessible. This is important in the event of an emergency, but also for shuttles that need to use the lane to drop off and turnaround. I am pleased to hear that our team followed the correct protocol in a difficult situation.
The private one-lane driveway leading to Belmont is one mile long. The maintenance of the driveway is shared. The first half is the responsibility of the residents that reside along Belmont Woods Road. The second half, which is the responsibility of Belmont Manor is fully paved, and does have speed bumps to ensure the safe travels for all.

So here's the thing. The venue is absolutely AMAZING. The view, the gardens, the lily pond, the tent, and the manor are all incredible. HOWEVER, the staff might be the rudest people that I've dealt with on our wedding day. So we dealt with Bobby when we first booked with them and he had moved onto another job. We were not notified of this until a few months before the wedding when I tried emailing him and it got denied. (That's not a big deal to me, but a heads up that someone is taking over for him would've been nice.)
Fast forward to wedding day. We were getting married on a Friday and had the grounds from 3-12. (Ceremony at 5:30, Cocktail Hour from 6-7. Reception from 7-11) They made us purchase an additional hour from 11-12 so that the caterer can clean up. (Didn't really need that extra expense before the wedding) Anyhow. At 3:00, I show up with the wedding trellis that we were getting married under so the florist could decorate. (Couldn't have shown up a minute earlier, because we would've been billed another hour.) So I back my truck up onto the wood chip driveway so we don't have to carry the trellis very far, for It was heavy and didn't want to risk dropping it. Two of their workers drive over in a golf cart and say "Just to let you know, you can't do that tonight and everything has to be cleaned up by midnight." What a way to welcome the groom to the venue on his wedding day.
Fast forward until about 10:30. Having the night of our lives. Two of the gentlemen from the house appear and start walking around the tent. I'm assuming they're doing inspections to make sure everything is still intact. (Which is understandable. BUT, Maybe this can be done while guest aren't still there enjoying the evening and having a great time.
Fast forward to 10:59. One of the gentlemen approaches me and says "alright, it's 11:00. Make sure you go into the house and get all your stuff and be outta here by midnight." Un-BELIEVABLE!
