The Woodlands helped make our wedding day perfect! We highly recommend it to other couples looking for a special place to get married. The park was beautiful and our guests loved staying at the nearby cottages.

My daughter's wedding reception was held at The Woodlands at Algonkian on November 17th and I highly recommend this facility for any special occasion. The coordinator, Anna Cote, was extremely friendly, helpful and professional. From start to finish, she made sure the facility was ready for the big day and everything ran so smoothly - not an easy task with 140 guests. We heard so many compliments from our guests about our choice of venue. The stonework was very impressive and we especially loved the mirrored glass by the dance floor. Even as we look at wedding photos, you can see so much more because of the reflections in the mirrors. Our DJ even said the acoustics were perfect for the music. We looked at several other venues before choosing The Woodlands and we absolutely made the right decision!

So glad my mom found this place! I'll admit that I was skeptical at first (the only part of the park I had seen was the Volcano Island Waterpark) but as soon as I saw it I was blown away. It's tucked away in the park just off the golf course on a beautifully wooded lot close to the Potomac river. The inside is newly renovated and absolutely beautiful! Stone floors in the entrance, big stone fire place in the banquet room, a beautiful dance floor with windows that turn to mirrors at night time (which is great for photos) and the staff is wonderful! Anna helped answer our many questions and was incredibly responsive, accommodating, and friendly. I would highly recommend this venue! The price is reasonable and worth every penny!

When considering what we were looking for in terms of our budget, the experience we hoped to have, and the look and feel we were trying to acheive--The Woodlands at Algonkian Regional Park was perfect. By staying in the cabins, we were able to see our friends and family more and really enjoy the entire weekend. A wedding is always chaotic, but having almost everyone in one place took some of the stress out of the day and they did a great job of taking care of our guests and working with us. I was exceptionally pleased with the way the wedding turned out and the service we got--Thank you everyone!

Anna Cote and her team at Algonkian were so helpful and accommodating and made our day easy! We had issues orginally with the on-site caterers regarding the bar set-up so we were very worried. But, the 2 bartenender were awesome and also the gentleman who set-up the bar, so our worries subsided. The hall was beautiful and our friends and family from the area had no idea this existed and now have put this on their list of places to hold events. My family enjoyed staying at the cabins on the park grounds as well. They were clean and nicely updated. We are looking forward to renting the cabins again. Thank you for making our event beautiful and memorable.

We had a fabulous wedding ceremony at Algonkian Regional Park. Everyone at the Park was extremely friendly and helpful. Anna was extraordinarily patient and accommodating as we tried to make a last-minute decision about whether to hold our wedding ceremony indoors or outdoors given the weather forecasts. In the end, we decided to hold it indoors and it was beautiful. I would encourage anyone who is looking for a wedding venue with great indoor and outdoor options to look at Algonkian.

Wonderful experience! Our venue was beautiful and everyone worked together to create a wonderful wedding for my husband and I. It was Anna's (the event cooridnator) first summer in this position and my Mom and I could tell. She seemed quiet and we had to go through Mark for answers who was absolutely wonderful and always responded extremely fast and answered all questions for us. Overall, great venue, but preferred to deal with Mark.

Wonderful Venue! It was exactly what we were looking for when we found it. It has a beautiful rustic feel to it but was still very classy. The park manager was great to work with. He was so accommodating with everything we needed and wanted. A little on the pricey side-- but their preferred caterer gave us a great deal so it all evened out. Would recommend!! A little bit hidden but really looking forward to all the pictures we took by the Potomac. BEAUTIFUL!!!

My husband and I looked long and hard for a venue for the wedding. When we came to Algonkian and met with Lawan we had such a great experience! Lawan was quit professional and the day of the wedding went perfectly and smoothly. It was beautiful there and they are so flexible with what you want to do and made sure to have the golfers not around the area during the ceremony and reception. Lawan and her team even gave us a little gift! Lawan and her team were awesome and made the planning so much easier.

We held our reception at Algonkian, and we are so happy with how everything turned out. Lawan, the event coordinator there, is amazing and was always there to help us with anything we needed. She met with us multiple times, and responded very quickly to all of the email we would send her with questions, concerns, etc. She did a great job on the day of the wedding to make sure that everything was set up exactly the way that we wanted it.

The building is great for a medium sized wedding- we ended up with about 125 guests, and everyone fit very nicely into the reception room. There is also a very nice cocktail hour space, as well as a gorgeous outdoor area for cocktails (or some people hold their ceremonies out there). There is also a separate room for a buffet which was great, a very nice little bridal suite for getting ready, as well as another extra room that we used as a kids room. From the first time we visited the space, I knew that it had exactly what I wanted. It was perfect for my vision- a beautiful, large indoor space, but also the opportunity to be outside in a beautiful park (right along the Potomac!). Luckily the weather was perfect on our wedding day, so we were all able to take advantage of the gorgeous outdoors.

The reception was absolutely beautiful, the in-house caterers (Great Blue Heron) did a fantastic job, and everything went very smoothly. Overall, a great wedding venue!!

I highly recommend the rental of the cabins and the event center. The cabins provided spaces for up to 86 people to stay and are really reasonably priced and located very close to the venue. Renting the cabins along with the event center allowed us to make our event last the whole weekend instead of just 6 or 7 hours like most weddings and receptions. Also, Lawan McFerren and Roy Geiger are wonderful to work with and go out of their way to make the whole experience easy and worry-free.

I just had my wedding there and it was FABULOUS. The site is gorgeous with the stonework in the lobby and the main reception area, no decorations necessary. It looks as nice as a country club, with much less cost. Lawan, the event coordinator there was great to work with. She was always so willing to help and answer any questions, and did a walk through with us twice before the wedding to discuss details and logistics and planned the layout. She also was very accommodating when I had some very sudden last minute changes. Everything went off without a hitch, and her ability to coordinate and organize was definitely a big help with vendors. You must use the caterer provided through the regional park, but Blue Heron was great as well (Everyone told me that it was the best appetizers and dishes they had ever had at a wedding).

We just had our wedding reception here and everything was beautiful. We looked into different venues including country clubs, but Algonkian was hands down the winner. The stone wall and the big galss window overlooking the golf course make the room look elegant. Working with Lawann was a dream. She was patient and answered all our questions and was always willing to help.

The Algonkian was perfect for my wedding! The staff was incredibly attentive and the flipping of the room from ceremony to reception was so fast - incredible! We had lots of out of town family and friends, so we rented the cottages too (they have a package deal for the Venue and vacation cottages). It was so nice to have everyone nearby and really get to spend time with them! Lawan, the onsite event coordinator was fantastic to work with!

We booked Algonkian as our ceremony and reception venue two years ago when it was still sort of an up-and-coming wedding venue, and by the time our wedding came around, it had definitely arrived. On top of the already gorgeous lobby and reception room, the site now has gold chiavari chairs as well as large potted plants throughout which really takes the place up a notch as far as wedding venues go. With some heavy-handed decorating (we used fabric on the arbor), the outdoor ceremony space is lovely, especially if you get married at a time of year when the foliage is lush. A few drawbacks might be the plastic folding chairs used for outdoor ceremonies (they weren't really my style, but I couldn't justify the cost of renting alternatives), the relative lack of cool places to take couple's photos (we did our pictures together at a different park on the way to the ceremony), and the bathrooms (which are used regularly by golfers). So keep these things in mind, but overall, Algonkian was a gorgeous place to get married and a great value. Also, the site coordinator Lawan is awesome and very helpful!

LOVED having our ceremony & reception here. Everything went wonderfully and Lawan was a tremendous help throughout the planning process. I highly recommend you check it out if you are planning your wedding!
