  We were spiraling down an internet-hole one day, researching possible bands for our wedding, when we stumbled across a lo-fi music video for a song dedicated to the city of Milwaukee. This video had a level of self-awareness and humor that spoke to us on a deep level, and, the band was GOOD! We had to figure out who this group was. Upon further investigation we learned about the 5 Card Studs and talked to a few friends and family from the area (we currently live on the East Coast) that happened to already know of and love them. We had the opportunity to catch a live show at a bar on a weekend trip back to WI and had an absolute blast.
  
  These guys had the right catalog (greats songs ranging from the 60s-80s), magnetic gravitas and stage presence, and seriously kicked ass.
  
  After that show we knew we had to have these guys play our wedding. Matt (the band’s drummer and manager) was so incredibly nice and easy to work with. We stayed in contact up to the day, meeting a couple times to go over details, songs we liked/didn’t like, etc, and communication was great.
  
  We were able to utilize their three-piece jazz ensemble for the cocktail hour (which was fantastic) and then had the Studs (plus Rocky Mountain, daaaaaamn that voice!) play the reception. Matt was incredibly helpful in navigating a few road bumps throughout the day and made things go very smoothly; and once the reception kicked in to gear the Studs absolutely killed it. We still have guests mentioning how much they loved these guys.
  
  We can’t recommend the Studs enough, whether for an event, or just catching them at a show — Check. Them. Out!

  If you've already seen the guys play, you shouldn't even be reading this. If you haven't, you've been missing out. Preview the Studs all over Milwaukee year-round. We knew we wanted them for our reception before we even had a date picked out. Not many bands can keep everyone from the 20-year-olds to the 70-year-olds on the dance floor for the entire evening. They rocked the show and did what they do best... entertain. As far as the business side... super easy to work with, no issues whatsoever. Things turned out fantastic. Our only regret is that we missed so much of the show while catching up with all our guests. If they're available... book them! Nobody will be disappointed. People who planned to leave early and people who normally don't party were all up rocking out.

  These guys are AMAZING! But, I already knew how fantastic the band was before I booked them, so it was no surprise that they did such an incredible job. My favorite memory of the entire evening was their last song and the energy that was on the dance floor.

  The Studs were by far the best money we spent on the wedding. They were as professional as you can be in a wig or leather pants and managed to keep a high energy level even though they played for 4 hours. I don't usually dance but they had all of our guests so excited that I couldn't resist. We're still getting compliments for having them 2 months later; we had a huge age range among our guests yet everyone loved the band. We emailed them a week before the wedding (very last minute..) with a long list of songs we hoped to hear and hoped they'd avoid, and they hit every one. I was amazed that they were even willing to play Werewolves of London in late summer... Every request we had was taken care of perfectly, and that's not something all wedding vendors are good at executing.
  
  I don't know if they planned it, but their timing was absolutely perfect. They played a long first set and took their break exactly at 10pm, and in Milwaukee on a Saturday night of a festival weekend that meant fireworks over the lake. Since our reception was on the lakefront everyone got to go outside and watch the show while the band took their break, and as the fireworks ended the band started up again. Again, I have no idea if this was intentional, but it made the night even better.
  
  They are more expensive than a DJ, but far better. Almost 3 grand is a lot of money, but to have 5 talented guys entertain you for 3-4 hours makes it totally worth it. Like I said before it was the best money we spent and we have absolutely no regrets about hiring them. People waste a lot of money on things that will be forgotten by morning but good entertainment is worth every penny. We're so glad we booked them and can't wait to see them at their next show.
