Describe your DJ style:
We are professional mix DJ's that have the experience and expertise necessary to really help bring your party to life! Our final product is a fun, memorable, and "Unique" experience.
What is your usual attire?
We always dress for the occasion. We speak with the client directly about the dress code for the event. For formal events we wear a suit and tie. Our style is not the cheesy tuxedo attire. You are the center of attention... not us!
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
As long as the music is available from the sources that we build our library from we will obtain music that is needed. We have accepted music that clients have provided for us as well.
How many other DJs do you work with?
We currently network with all major DJ companies in Alabama. Jim Rooney, the owner personally performs at every event, and we have a road crew that works the set-up of large scale events.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
All events are typically booked on a 3 hour minimum.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Absolutely!! We encourage it. It would be extremely rare for us to book a wedding without a consultation but it has been done. We will meet our clients wishes, whatever they may be.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
We have performed for inter-racial weddings, and some ethnic events. We will consider these events on a case by case basis dependent upon the music we have available, and what the client can provide.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes, all necessary equipment and lighting is provided by Unique Sounds
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
Custom lighting design, dance lighting, custom monograms, karaoke, slideshows, and much more is available upon request. Please see our website or give us a call for details.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
Typically banquet halls and sites will provide a table for the DJ set-up. If this is not available we will find out before-hand and plan accordingly
Do you have any extra space requirements?
No
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
Yes, we act as the emcee and entertainment coordinator for the entire event. We will hold pre-event meetings with you to develop a timeline that you approve of and execute that timeline the day of your event.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
For longer evening weddings, most of our clients will provide a meal. However this is not necessary. It is the decision of the client.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Members of our set-up crew are trained to perform at an event if needed and have extensive knowledge of our events and equipment. However we have never missed an event in over 10 years!
What is your overtime rate?
All pricing can be discussed by calling our office.Overtime is not always available for certain events.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
We do charge for travel on any events further than 75 miles from our office.
