Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Black & White, Sepia, and custom artwork are all available.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Every kind of lighting that exists I have photographed in it. From the harshest, brightest sun to pitch black, and everything in between. I have also photographed in the hottest, most brutal heat to shivering, freezing cold. I've been at this a while.
Is your media preference film or digital?
I am completely digital.
How many photographers do you work with?
I work as a solo photographer with a non-shooting assistant. All of the images on my website and in my albums are mine. I don't click with the paparazzi feeling that can happen with multiple shooters, unless the other shooter is highly experienced. I can provide a second photographer, but that photographer would be capable of shooting a wedding on his or her own. I find that all too often people who answer ads to assist as a second photographer have very little background experience, and that's not what I am comfortable with. Any photographer who is capable of shooting a wedding on their own would be doing just that.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
I feel very strongly about the fact that when you meet with me, you are expecting me to be the one to photograph your wedding.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I photograph only one event per day. I may have two weddings in a weekend.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
I network with a large group of NJ photographers.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Only professional, well maintained equipment, with back-up of everything.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
I charge variable fees for the amount of time needed.
Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?
$200
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
None. I don't take a true "break".
Do you charge for travel?
Not usually. Only for extreme situations.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
2-4 weeks.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
An online gallery and High Res DVD are automatically included with every package. 4x6 proofs are also available at an additional fee for your convenience.
How long can the client keep the proofs?
Forever.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
All photographers retain the copyright for the photographs they take, it's the law. You also retain the copyright for any photo you take. However, we can and I do grant permission for my couples to reproduce the images for their own use.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes, for marketing and advertising purposes.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes.
Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes.
What kind of albums do you offer?
New for 2009 I have created a downloadable PDF catalog that showcases all of my albums and their fees. This makes it incredibly convenient for couples to see what I have to offer. Also, as a professional photographer, I can make any album, even one that isn't in my catalog. If there is an album out there that you love, I can get it.
When will the client get the final album?
Usually albums take anywhere from a month to three months depending on which album I am making and if you ask for changes.
