About Us

Welcome to the Old Courthouse Museum!  Your event deserves a special setting, and we welcome and encourage the use of this unique and beautiful public and historic treasure.  Made of local Sioux Quartzite, construction was completed in 1893 and for many years, the building served as a courthouse and public offices.  Becoming a museum in 1974, it is now the perfect event venue with something for everyone; children and adults alike.

With its hardwood floors, gorgeous woodwork, detailed paintings, stained glass windows, soft lighting, and grand staircase, the Old Courthouse Museum provides a unique atmosphere -inside and out- for any occasion.

The public areas at the Old Courthouse Museum available for special events are the Courtroom, Law Library, first floor hallway, and outdoor cobblestone Reardon Plaza. Special events include weddings, receptions, meetings, dinners, photo/ film shoots, parties, etc.

Floor plans and size and capacity figures are provided to help you determine the space that best suits your needs.
