5 Myles High is a 4-piece jazz combo based out of Bluffton, Ohio. The band plays "nightclub jazz" (swing, blues, dixieland, etc). The band consists of piano, vocals, trumpet, bass guitar, and drums. Krysti Groman, a masters student at Bowling Green College of Musical Arts, plays piano and sings in the group. Other members of the band are Bluffton University graduates Myles Bowers (trumpet) and Phil Schey (bass), and Ohio State-Lima senior Sean McNeal (drums). The members of 5 Myles High have been playing together for almost 2 years, and their first CD is being recorded Sept. 20. 5 Myles High's repertoire consists of many jazz standards, but they enjoy playing other requests as well. The band plays regularly for coffee shops, banquets, festivals, dances, and wedding receptions.
