I have been in love with photography since I was little. I think I took over my father's hobby at an early age. My father bought his first camera before I was born, which I later inherited from him. I loved taking pictures of everything and everyone. I remember the satisfaction of developing the film and my pictures. Though they might not have won any awards, they were my visions excecuted and printed. I still have those first black and white portraits and they always bring me back to my childhood.
What is your favorite part about photography?
I enjoy interacting with people everytime I photograph a wedding, take pictures of a newborn or shoot a senior photo-session. I like listening to the stories of how they made it here and what their plans are for the future. I have had the pleasure of meeting many unique and interesting people doing my job. And I can't wait to meet many more. It's humbling to know that my clients enjoy the memories that we capture during our photo-sessions with them.
Why do you like to photograph weddings?
Weddings for me are naustalgic. Since I often work with my husband, James, weddings always remind me of the vows we said to eachother. I know, that sounds sappy and romantic, but it really does remind me of what happened three years ago. Wow, has it really been three years? Well, if you are looking for a person who LOVES weddings, I am your photographer. I love watching the event that results from long hard hours of looking at dresses, racking your brain for innovative center pieces, arguing with your mother about who she can invite (at least, it happened with me). And when it comes to the actual day, I love talking with brides and reminding them about the true meaning of such a joyous day; the beginning of a life with someone you admire, love and respect. We at Boronis Photography will provide you with lasting images that you and your family will cherish for years to come.
What type of equipment do you use?
I only use professional DSLR camera equipment to capture optimal quality images for my clients. My main camera is the Nikon D700 and my back-up camera is the Nikon D300. I use all Nikon glass to bring out the best from the cameras. I also have external hard drives that help me save your important wedding images. I back-up files twice if not more times in order to make sure I have the originals, the color-corrected and final images on each of my hard drives. I understand how important these images are to your family. Mishandling image files is unacceptable. For that reason I take great care from the moment I take your photographs to the moment you receive your final prints.
What does Boronis mean?
Boronis, or Boro for short, is the nickname my father gave me as a child. It means "little crumb." My name reminds me of all my mis-adventures as a child. I still believe my elementary school is not the same without me. And if you happen to pass through the halls of Anson Jones Elementary in Houston, Texas, say hello to Ms. Moran for me. : )
Who is JDM sports?
JDM stands for James D. Magdaleno. James is a full time preschool photographer by day, but don't let that fool you. His real passion is sports. My husband does freelance sports photography work here in the local Lincoln area. He has photographed such events as, the Lincoln Marathon, Cornhusker State Games, Saltdogs baseball games, and Cornhuskers wrestling duals. James is the official photographer for the University of Nebraska Wrestling program. He has been featured on such sites as, www.huskerwrestling.com, www.yspn.com, www.allstarsportsphotography.com. James has been selected to cover the Big 12 Championship for the Husker Wrestling Team at the coliseum this year. If you have a special athlete in the family and you want professional sports coverage of them or their team, send us an email. We can accomodate almost any sporting event request.
