22 Jun, 2019The story of our wedding
Zach and I met online through the app Coffee Meets Bagel. We hit it off right away, and quickly went from online messages and texting to dinners and date weekends. Soon, we were inseparable, and the rest is history! We were engaged on New Years' Eve 2017, only 9 months after our first date, in Santa Barbara. We planned our wedding in Thousand Oaks on a farm where I grew up, and we didn't spare a single detail. It was definitely challenging planning a wedding on your own, from a different city, but the end result was so worth it. We started planning early, so the last couple of months before the wedding were so easy. It was just confirming that all of our vendors knew what we were doing, and final meetings. My dad surprised me with a horse and carriage that brought us to the ceremony site, and then took Zach and I on a relaxing and quiet ride between the ceremony and photos. I think that was my favorite part of the whole day, having ten minutes or so that was just for Zach and I. We were able to talk for the first time that day, and truly just be together. The rest of the night was a blast, and we loved every second of it, but we never had time for just us. I definitely recommend carving out even just a few minutes for yourselves right after the ceremony.
